[00:00:28] Speaker A: Hello, hello, hello and welcome back to the Crack Die podcast. I'm your host and GM, Sean, and I am super excited to be coming to you today. Yes, we have a new episode and we are getting long in the tooth, as you will hear in the beginning of this episode. But we're coming up on something, something special. Two things special. Even the first one, episode 100. We're getting close. I honestly can't believe it. But we're almost to episode 100. What are we going to do for that episode? I have no clue. I'll be honest. I have no idea what we're going to do for it. But it'll be fun and we're going to get there. Secondly, we're getting close to two years. You're going to hear us babble on and on and on and on and on and on about it, but we're getting there. So I'm very, very excited about these. As always, a few plugs before we get to the table. June 19 at 01:00 p.m. eastern standard time. Of course, it's Absalom. In order our twitch show. Please join us live at Twitch TV, crackdie. We're having a great time over in that game, and we're already, some of us are already on our second character, so you know it's going good. Also, let's not forget June 26. June 26, what's that, Sean? Oh, I don't know. How about Brent and I continuing our game of Crusader Kings live on Twitch as well? We might be continuing or we might be starting a new game of Crusader Kings where we all play Van Pires blah. Yes, using vampires from another tabletop game. Make sure you join us. Both of those are live at Twitch TV, crackdye, and they both start at 01:00 eastern standard time. And what type of intro would this be if I didn't talk about our wonderful patrons? [email protected] the crack die. Come join us over there. For as little as $5 you can add to our critical hit and miss charts. And also join us on our discord where we chat about games, mostly Pathfinder. And we just have a grand old time. So join us over there as well. Once again, that's, once again, that's patreon.com. thecrack die. As always, you can find all of our links in the show notes. Please check them out. Come say hi. Join our patreon, join our discord. We have a good time. All right, what is going to happen in the Wainwright shop? Let's go to the table and find out. [00:03:44] Speaker B: Welcome back, everyone. [00:03:47] Speaker A: 83 plus episodes because of all of our little mini. Mini sodes. Minisodes put out. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I was thinking there must be, like, five of those, right? Ish. [00:03:57] Speaker A: Yeah, the least. I know. We did, like a week of them. Yeah, like five of them. Plus some interludes. So we're getting up there. We're getting up there. [00:04:12] Speaker C: It's pretty cool. [00:04:13] Speaker D: I was gonna say, are we ready for the possibility of a hundredth episode? [00:04:19] Speaker A: Not at all. [00:04:21] Speaker E: That's gonna be forever from now. [00:04:25] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Forever. [00:04:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Rob, what episode is this? For you? [00:04:29] Speaker E: This would be number three. [00:04:31] Speaker A: Ah. [00:04:32] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:04:33] Speaker A: Only 97 more to go. Gotcha. [00:04:36] Speaker C: Clearly. [00:04:37] Speaker B: Well, I mean, it could be next episode, the way that knife sword counts. [00:04:39] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, that's true. [00:04:41] Speaker C: That's true. That's very true. [00:04:43] Speaker E: Look, everybody knows that bridge is after three. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:49] Speaker C: Well, I'm also thinking if this is episode 83 and we've got a couple random other ones in the middle, we're almost coming up on two years because 104 would be. [00:05:00] Speaker A: Oh, gosh, don't make me do that math. [00:05:02] Speaker B: Well, that's actually why I was asking about that earlier, because if we have. I was thinking about it, and unlike the Absalom and order Twitch show, which began on August 29, and I remember that for whatever reason, apparently it's like my wife's birthday, our anniversary, and that date. And no other dates. [00:05:22] Speaker A: Two very important ones. And the twitch show. [00:05:25] Speaker B: Yes. I thought you were gonna go somewhere else with that, but okay, yeah, I. [00:05:29] Speaker A: Was thinking about it, but then I was like, she's here. She can hear you. [00:05:35] Speaker B: So. [00:05:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Anyway, which marriage, though? [00:05:38] Speaker B: It's. [00:05:39] Speaker D: Right. [00:05:39] Speaker B: It's a mystery. No one knows. [00:05:42] Speaker D: I do, but, I mean, I know. [00:05:44] Speaker B: What dates they were, but I don't know, like, which. I mean, I guess I know which. [00:05:48] Speaker C: One I count which one happened which day. [00:05:50] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. I count the one that happened first. [00:05:52] Speaker D: That's fair. [00:05:53] Speaker B: Anyway, enough about me. Let's talk about me. [00:05:56] Speaker D: Such a Leo. [00:05:57] Speaker B: Anyway, what I was saying was I was trying to remember this about the little half minisodes because of just that, the coming up on two years. And I don't honestly remember when this show started. Like what the date was, the exact. [00:06:11] Speaker A: Date first three episodes were published, September 19 of 2019. [00:06:18] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. We did three at once. [00:06:19] Speaker C: Oh, damn. [00:06:20] Speaker B: Forgot about that first three. [00:06:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:23] Speaker C: All right, so we're still. We're still a little bit out. [00:06:25] Speaker A: We're still a little bit. [00:06:26] Speaker B: All right, September. [00:06:28] Speaker C: Thanks for sticking with us this long, all you listeners. And out there, and all of our Patreon patrons who joined up, we love you. [00:06:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:35] Speaker B: We got a new one, I believe. [00:06:36] Speaker A: Yes, we absolutely did. I just have to give a shout out to Australia. [00:06:43] Speaker C: Yes. [00:06:44] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Our Patreon discord is two thirds australian at this point. [00:06:52] Speaker B: I don't know. That's true. It's close. [00:06:54] Speaker C: It's. There's. There's. Yeah. We're an american podcast with a large following in Australia. Love you guys. Thanks. [00:07:01] Speaker A: Well, let's talk about what happened last time we were here. You guys had just dealt with the intruders in the Wainwrights shop. A Wainwright is a wagon maker, as we all learned. You got a lot of information about the Scarlet Triad. You have two members of the Scarlet Triad captured. The owner of the Wainwright shop said, thank you very much. He can return to his husband. Faddleby is his name. And he worked late because he wanted a break from his husband and their six children. [00:07:39] Speaker D: Checks out. [00:07:40] Speaker A: Yep. Got all tangled up with this Scarlet triad stuff by happenstance. And. Yeah. You have two members captured. What do you do? [00:07:50] Speaker E: We rescue them? [00:07:52] Speaker D: No, no, no. We have them captured. [00:07:54] Speaker B: We did the capturing. [00:07:56] Speaker E: Oh, we're the capture errs, not the capture ease. Okay. [00:08:01] Speaker D: Were you there, Robert? [00:08:02] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:03] Speaker B: Are you here? [00:08:04] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure. Knife sword napped and. [00:08:07] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:08] Speaker B: Okay. [00:08:09] Speaker C: Just making sure. That's the important part. [00:08:12] Speaker B: Anybody else curious about that family? [00:08:13] Speaker C: Clearly, they adopted six small children. [00:08:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:15] Speaker B: Like, where do you get six kids? That's more like. It's not so much that, like, they are adopting children. That's. Whatever. That's super normal. And no one. That doesn't bother me in the least, but six kids, like, that's a lot of kids. I mean, whether you made them or not, that's a lot of children. You know, on purpose, on accident. A lot of kids. [00:08:32] Speaker E: So, you know, things are cheaper in bulk, right? [00:08:36] Speaker B: Oh, is that what it is? Was there a discount at the orfinarium or whatever? [00:08:40] Speaker D: The orphanarium? [00:08:41] Speaker C: Look, he needed an apprentice, and then the apprentice needed a friend, and it just kind of all got out of hand. And now they're a family. [00:08:47] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, because that's, like, intentional. You know what I mean? Like, that's. You had to decide that, like, to bring in six people into the family. And I just think that's fascinating. [00:08:59] Speaker A: What if it's a. A Brady bunch situation? [00:09:01] Speaker B: Well, one had three and the other had three, and now they have six. Yeah, but still, that just. It just begs the question, like, I'm just curious about the dynamic of the family. [00:09:11] Speaker C: I mean, this. It could also be. I mean, this town does have a regular call for heroes there. There's reason to suspect there may be some orphans. [00:09:22] Speaker E: Well, maybe they thought they were just, like, you know, getting one. But the others were standing behind them and, like, descending words, realize that they were, like, bidding on a lot. [00:09:30] Speaker B: Gotcha. Gotcha. Slightly smaller children behind the first one. It's how trolls travel, so I understand that. [00:09:39] Speaker D: What are small children but not tiny trolls anyway? [00:09:45] Speaker B: I hope so. That would be a rude awakening. [00:09:47] Speaker A: They're like tuskens. They travel in a single line to hide their numbers. [00:09:52] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:09:54] Speaker B: Like, to. To voluntarily add six people to your family is a lot. So I'm just. It's fascinating. [00:10:00] Speaker A: You know what? Apparently, the cart business is doing well because they could afford six children. [00:10:07] Speaker B: Well, also, maybe not so much. Maybe the six children are strained because he will make a cart with no wheels if you bring him wheels. That's some shady shit. You do not find a car dealership. You walk into a Ford dealer, like, look, I have four tires. I don't want your fucking tires. Give me a car with no tires. It would be like, no, we're not gonna do that. Please leave. [00:10:26] Speaker A: Maybe he's running a wagon chop shop. [00:10:28] Speaker B: Maybe he is. [00:10:29] Speaker A: Ooh. [00:10:30] Speaker C: That's how we got mixed up with the scarlet triad in the first place. [00:10:33] Speaker B: Who knows? It's a universe of possibilities. Has this been an hour yet? Can we be done? [00:10:42] Speaker A: Okay, let's get this wagon back on the track. So what are you gonna do with the. The two captured? Slit their throats, leave them for dead? [00:10:53] Speaker B: Eat them. Eat them. No. [00:10:55] Speaker A: Eat them. Knife, sword. [00:10:57] Speaker E: No, I didn't say that. [00:10:59] Speaker C: Sounded an awful lot like Brianna trying to sound like. [00:11:05] Speaker B: There's the accent. [00:11:07] Speaker A: Knife, sword. You're gonna stuff them in Brianna's backpack later? [00:11:10] Speaker C: Well, then they. Then they will die. [00:11:13] Speaker A: Or are you going to take them to the city guard? [00:11:18] Speaker B: I think we need to go to the city guard. [00:11:20] Speaker C: Have we gotten all the information we wanted from them? [00:11:22] Speaker B: I believe so. But the one piece of information we did get is that Vaz is no longer at the jail. [00:11:26] Speaker D: Yes. [00:11:26] Speaker C: Yes. [00:11:27] Speaker D: So do we want to give the city guard these people, knowing that they've been incompetent in the past and let Vaz slip through their fingers? [00:11:37] Speaker E: Sounds good. [00:11:38] Speaker B: I mean, there is an any better place to take them. And also, it might be worth just going there and being like, what the fuck? [00:11:43] Speaker D: Yeah, absolutely. [00:11:45] Speaker C: Also, I feel like a necromancer has a great way of escaping in that they can probably very easily pretend to be dead and get taken out. [00:11:52] Speaker D: That is true. [00:11:53] Speaker E: Oldest trick in the book. [00:11:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:54] Speaker B: You know how fishermen pretend to be fish and they, like, swim? [00:12:02] Speaker C: I'm just saying, you play dead in your cell. They're like, aw, man, we don't need a corpse rotting up this cell. And they take you out, intend to bury you, and you get up and you walk away. [00:12:10] Speaker E: I feel like if that happened a lot, you should institute a policy of leaving the corpse in there for six months just to be sure. [00:12:18] Speaker C: Stench. [00:12:21] Speaker D: What have we decided? We're definitely going to the town guard? [00:12:25] Speaker C: I think so. [00:12:26] Speaker D: Dropping them off, be like, don't lose these this time. And asking them about Vos. [00:12:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's a. That's the plan. [00:12:34] Speaker D: All right, Sean. That's what we're doing. [00:12:36] Speaker A: All right, so you guys head down to the city guard. It's not marked on your map, but it is on the southwest corner, directly west of Breech Creek lumber. [00:12:47] Speaker D: Okay. [00:12:47] Speaker C: Oh, is it that little compound in. [00:12:49] Speaker A: The little triangle with the smoke coming out of the chimney? Yeah. So you head there. The members of the scarlet triad are very quiet. As you leave them to the guard. Explain to them what happened with them taking faddle bee hostage. They say, oh, that's not good. They throw them in the cells to await trial. What are you guys asking about? Voggs? [00:13:17] Speaker C: Yo, what the fuck? [00:13:18] Speaker B: We did all the hard work. We captured her, we got you all the evidence, and she's just gone. I thought she was sentenced to death. [00:13:27] Speaker A: Well, you see, she kind of died in the cell. [00:13:32] Speaker B: She died in her cell? [00:13:36] Speaker A: Well, we buried her. We buried her in the. In the cemetery. [00:13:43] Speaker B: Do you think maybe it would be a good idea to exhume the body? [00:13:46] Speaker A: Sure. So this, like, 16 year old guard leads you just outside of the walls of the town to a graveyard. They start to exhume the body, and sure enough, there is a body in the casket. It looks very much decayed. [00:14:08] Speaker E: Let me sniff it. I can see how long it's been there. [00:14:11] Speaker D: While he's sniffing it, I would like to very much roll a medicine check to see if there's any defining features from that. We know this is actually Va's or they've swapped it with somebody else. [00:14:23] Speaker B: Good call. [00:14:24] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:14:25] Speaker B: Does it have fake elf ears? That's the thing I want to look for. [00:14:29] Speaker C: So I was like, can I, like, assist on the grounds of, like, I'm an elf. I've seen dead elves. [00:14:35] Speaker E: Can I roll on occultism for my sniffing to see if there's any necromatic shenanigans going on? [00:14:42] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. [00:14:43] Speaker D: All right. I rolled a 31 on medicine. [00:14:46] Speaker A: Okay, so as you're looking at the body, you notice that there are some. It's. It looks like vods. It looks a little too much like vods. It looks like someone or something is disguising themselves, but you can't really figure. Figure out what it is. You're pretty sure that it's not vase, really. Knife, sword. As you are sniffing it, you get the distinct smell that this is not an elf. This is something that is from beyond the normal plains. [00:15:30] Speaker E: This doesn't smell like it's from around here. [00:15:33] Speaker D: What do you mean? [00:15:33] Speaker E: I mean, it's got a weird, not earthy, but unearthly smell. Very nutty. [00:15:41] Speaker C: Can I roll Arcana to see if there's something she could have done? [00:15:45] Speaker A: Occultism. [00:15:46] Speaker C: It would be occultism. Okay, I'll give that a try. [00:15:49] Speaker E: I wonder. [00:15:50] Speaker C: Ah, I only got a 20. That's a five on the die. Damn it. [00:15:54] Speaker A: A 20 is enough. [00:15:55] Speaker C: Okay. [00:15:57] Speaker A: In fact, knife, sword. Missed it by one. [00:15:59] Speaker C: Yeah, I felt bad when I saw that. [00:16:02] Speaker A: As you look, you notice that, like, there's a slight shimmer to the body. So as you look at it, this shimmer kind of goes away. And you see this red mud looking creature appear for just a second. [00:16:19] Speaker C: What the fuck? [00:16:20] Speaker A: And then it goes away again. And then it looks like. Pause again. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Oh, wow. [00:16:24] Speaker C: Like, that's horrifying. What? Can I. Can I roll another occultism to see. [00:16:29] Speaker A: What the hell that is with your 20? You know exactly what that is. That is called a faceless stalker. [00:16:35] Speaker D: What? [00:16:37] Speaker A: So, faceless stalkers shapeshift to infiltrate settlements and assassinate key targets. They sow discord and replace leaders, causing unwanted organizations to implode and bothersome people to lose face and eventually disappear. [00:16:57] Speaker D: Okay. [00:16:58] Speaker A: You know that they only gain nourishment through its long, blood sucking tongue. [00:17:03] Speaker B: No, it doesn't look like it has a mouth. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Exactly. It's basically clay. [00:17:08] Speaker B: That's the way it looks. It looks like someone made clay. And they put razor blades on the end of the fingers, elongated the arms instead of eye sockets. They just punched it in the face twice. And. [00:17:19] Speaker C: But if you look, it looks like underneath the first layer of clay, there are still organs and shit. [00:17:23] Speaker B: I can't tell what those are supposed to be. Cause it don't look like Kuka's legs. It's got weird, weird, wormy things. I just thought that was, like, just pieces of clay. [00:17:31] Speaker C: I don't know. There's a part, like, right near its stomach that looks like an intestine. I closed the image cause so that's. [00:17:38] Speaker A: What Soraya sees for just a second, and then it goes back to looking like bots to her. [00:17:43] Speaker C: Oh, she just. Oh, no, no, no, no. [00:17:46] Speaker A: This is. [00:17:47] Speaker C: This is not. No, no, no. This is not her. [00:17:50] Speaker A: What this is. [00:17:51] Speaker C: This is a. It's called a faceless stalker. Have you ever heard of them? [00:17:55] Speaker B: Not since second edition. [00:18:00] Speaker A: Seriously? [00:18:00] Speaker B: I remember those, like, being a big deal, and I don't remember having heard of them for a long time. [00:18:06] Speaker C: No, they. They infiltrate, and they're. They're meant to tear things apart from within. Bye. Well, taking the place of someone, I. [00:18:16] Speaker D: Okay. [00:18:17] Speaker C: I can't imagine it was this all along. Do I know how intelligent they're supposed to be? [00:18:23] Speaker B: Um, they impersonate people. It's got to be some amount of intelligence. [00:18:26] Speaker A: Yes, they're. They're. I mean, stat wise, they're a plus zero, which means ten. [00:18:32] Speaker C: Okay, well. Cause I'm just thinking we fought vase, so I can't. [00:18:35] Speaker A: Right. [00:18:36] Speaker C: Imagine it was a good enough impression to, like, be able to do all the things she could actually do. So I think we did capture her, and this, at one point, replaced her afterwards. [00:18:45] Speaker B: Not by that. [00:18:46] Speaker D: So it would stand to guess that somehow, either she herself or somebody created or placed this creature in her place. Or do we feel like she was always this thing? [00:19:02] Speaker C: I don't think it would have had the skin skills to accurately mimic her casting. When we were fighting her. I think at some point, either in transit or while she was in the cell, this thing replaced her. I don't know if she could have called it up and stepped out or if they were intercepted in some way, but I think we did at one point have Vauz, and now this thing is here instead. [00:19:28] Speaker B: Can we ask the guards if she had any visitors? [00:19:30] Speaker A: No, no visitors were around. At least when I was on duty. [00:19:35] Speaker B: Okay, is there some kind of, like, official log we could look at? [00:19:38] Speaker A: Sure. And this guard leads you back to the cells, and you look at. [00:19:46] Speaker C: Before we go, I want to make sure this thing is actually dead. [00:19:49] Speaker A: Okay. What do you do? [00:19:53] Speaker B: Stab it. [00:19:54] Speaker C: Brianna, do you. Do you have your. Your scimitar? [00:19:57] Speaker D: Uh, yes. [00:19:58] Speaker C: I would like to actually ensure that whatever this is is not just lying in wait. [00:20:04] Speaker D: Excellent. She will unsheathe her scimitar and to lop its head off. [00:20:09] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, you lop its head off, and your scimitar goes through it like butter. And as you remove its head, it reverts to its original form, and you see black ichor pour out. It is definitely dead. [00:20:25] Speaker C: That you see. That's that's what it's been all along. And quite unpleasant. Thank you for making sure that it won't come back. [00:20:31] Speaker D: Of course. [00:20:32] Speaker A: So now you guys head back to the jail and you check the logbooks of visitors. And you see no one has visited Vaz the entire time. [00:20:44] Speaker C: She did have to stand trial, didn't she? [00:20:46] Speaker A: Uh, she was about to go, but then she passed. [00:20:50] Speaker E: I'm going to, um, sniff that guy with occultism. [00:20:55] Speaker B: Also, can we sense motive on him? [00:20:56] Speaker A: Sure. [00:20:57] Speaker C: Yeah. Cause. [00:20:58] Speaker E: Yeah, that was a 28 for a nice sort of cultism. [00:21:03] Speaker D: Okay, that was 19 for Brianna's sense bullshit. [00:21:07] Speaker B: Okay. It's a good skill to have. [00:21:09] Speaker E: I want that skill. [00:21:10] Speaker A: Yeah. Knife sword smells humanity. And it just. I mean, he's a teenager. So sweaty. [00:21:21] Speaker C: Oh, so he probably smells great to knife sword. [00:21:24] Speaker E: They should really bottle you, you know that? [00:21:30] Speaker A: The guard looks at you uncomfortable. No. Twin Talon. Brianna. [00:21:36] Speaker E: You. [00:21:37] Speaker A: You look at him and he seems to be telling the truth. [00:21:41] Speaker C: I have a 30 to sense bullshit. [00:21:43] Speaker A: Yeah. Also telling the truth. [00:21:46] Speaker C: Who is likely to have. I forget. I know there was a character and I forget her name. That was like the head of the town council. [00:21:53] Speaker B: Warble. No, that's not it. [00:21:55] Speaker C: No, that was Greta. [00:21:57] Speaker B: Greta Gardenia. [00:21:58] Speaker A: Yeah, Greta Gardenia. [00:22:00] Speaker B: Yeah, flower. I remember that. [00:22:01] Speaker C: You know, I think we should perhaps go speak to Miss Gardenia. [00:22:05] Speaker A: Nice sword. [00:22:06] Speaker E: Yes. [00:22:07] Speaker A: You notice the presence of magic on the book? [00:22:13] Speaker E: Can I see that book? [00:22:14] Speaker A: Uh, sure. [00:22:16] Speaker E: Thank you. I'm gonna use Arcana on it. [00:22:19] Speaker A: Well, actually, since you can cast fifth level spells now, detect magic is already heightened to fourth. [00:22:27] Speaker E: Oh, sure. If you wanna use magic. All right, I use the tech magic. [00:22:34] Speaker A: Yeah. So it's definitely illusion magic on the book. [00:22:39] Speaker E: Hmm. [00:22:40] Speaker D: What is it? Knighthood? [00:22:41] Speaker E: This book is not this book. What? [00:22:46] Speaker D: What do you mean? [00:22:48] Speaker E: Something fishy is going on here. And I don't mean like an agarum, tasty, fishy thing. This is like, uh, something not right. [00:22:58] Speaker B: Your mastery of common idioms is great. [00:23:04] Speaker D: Is there a way we can examine this book further or maybe dispel it? Is that a thing? I'm not familiar with magical practices well enough to say. [00:23:16] Speaker E: I mean, I could magic missile it. [00:23:18] Speaker C: No no no. [00:23:19] Speaker D: We want to be able to read it. [00:23:22] Speaker E: I can vomit on it. [00:23:23] Speaker B: Probably nothing. [00:23:25] Speaker C: No, no, thank you. [00:23:27] Speaker E: I could look at it a lot harder with a floating eyeball. [00:23:31] Speaker D: That's. [00:23:34] Speaker C: Can it see through magic? No, not nearly as useful. [00:23:39] Speaker E: But I mean, I would get a really good look at the print. [00:23:42] Speaker B: Can you do anything that would, like, allow you to see what was there before they magic dip? [00:23:47] Speaker E: Not that I can think of. [00:23:48] Speaker B: Okay, so. [00:23:49] Speaker A: So, as per the core rulebook. [00:23:52] Speaker E: Oh, sorry. I just had an idea. Let me try and think. If I can think of a curse that would make this book look like it does, a curse. Gonna roll my. I'm rolling my curse lore. And I got a 24. [00:24:08] Speaker A: Okay, so as you look at it, you kind of see what looks like sand blowing away from the book. [00:24:18] Speaker B: These are the days of our lives. [00:24:20] Speaker A: Yep. And you notice that there is a visitor to Vaz's cell that had been magically removed from this list. [00:24:31] Speaker E: Oh. [00:24:32] Speaker A: The name appears to be a gnomish style name. [00:24:37] Speaker E: Is this something that I can point out to people, or am I the only one that can see it? [00:24:41] Speaker A: Once you can see it, you can point it out to people. [00:24:43] Speaker E: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Look here, look, look right here. Oh, looks like there's somebody signed in. [00:24:49] Speaker D: And this was hidden before. [00:24:51] Speaker E: Yes. And if I know my handwriting, that's a bugbear. [00:24:58] Speaker B: Wait, if you know your own handwriting? Is that what you just said? [00:25:03] Speaker C: Why would you let Joe. [00:25:05] Speaker B: I don't think it's your. Let you. [00:25:06] Speaker A: The name is Vuvis subalterns. [00:25:11] Speaker D: Bless you. [00:25:12] Speaker C: Sounds almost obscene. [00:25:14] Speaker D: I was just thinking that too. [00:25:17] Speaker E: I think that's bugbear for. [00:25:20] Speaker D: Nope. [00:25:20] Speaker E: Beacon in the darkness. [00:25:22] Speaker D: Oh, I thought you were gonna be obscene for hot second there. [00:25:25] Speaker E: Hence, I didn't. [00:25:27] Speaker B: Isn't that that thing that you use at a soccer game? Oh, we'll hear them before we see them. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Oh, way before we see them. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Does that name sound familiar at all? [00:25:44] Speaker A: No. [00:25:45] Speaker B: Well, I mean. [00:25:46] Speaker C: All right, well, um. [00:25:48] Speaker D: Does the name, um, Brienne will lean in Bouviz sublutrix mean anything to you, young man? She will say to the guardhouse, um, no. I wonder if there is a town roster or something we can. Is it a sensors? I do not know. We can. Oh, wait a second, wait a second. I have breach Hill. Or would this name sound familiar to me? [00:26:17] Speaker A: Not at all. You don't even have to roll. [00:26:19] Speaker B: Also, what's to stop someone from just writing someone else's name in the book? It's just like a signage, right? [00:26:25] Speaker A: Yep. [00:26:25] Speaker C: Okay, can I am schooled in secrets. It's one of my feats. Can I roll occultism to. You can use occultism, place of diplomacy to gather information about secret societies. Can I. Can I roll for that? So 27 occultism to see if that rings any weird culty bells. Is there anything about the way it's written that would signify that it's part of anything. [00:27:04] Speaker A: You rolled really? Well, I want to give you something. [00:27:07] Speaker B: Well, in that case, I got some architecture lore for you, actually. [00:27:09] Speaker A: Give me an architecture lore. Okay, let me. Let's. Let's handle all of this stuff. All right? So it. The way. The way the script is written and there's no way to really tell this, but you think that it may be written by the hand of some undead? Like, not completely. Not a complete. Completely steady. [00:27:43] Speaker D: What? [00:27:44] Speaker A: That's the best I can give. [00:27:45] Speaker B: You see this finger broken off into the page here? [00:27:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:53] Speaker A: Like I said. I know, I know it's not good, but you pass the DC to find information out. But, like, I don't want to give all the whole thing away yet. [00:28:04] Speaker C: I mean, it's. It's occultism. It could be that. Like, you know, I said something about it. [00:28:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:09] Speaker E: Well, if you look right here, that's not an ink splash. That's. That's dried blood. But if you look closely, you'll notice the blood was already coagulated when it fell on the page. [00:28:18] Speaker A: There we go. Thank you, Rob. All right. Knife. Sword. You attempt to, uh, try and put the book into Brianna's backpack. As you do, the guard goes, hey, what are you doing with that? [00:28:35] Speaker D: What? Put it back. [00:28:37] Speaker A: No. [00:28:41] Speaker E: I. Drop it. [00:28:42] Speaker D: Put it down. [00:28:45] Speaker A: Twin talent with your 19 and architecture boar. You notice as you're looking kind of at the cell where vase was, you notice that there is some dirt on the floor that appears to be from. Not from this area of Breech Hill. You know that this. The area around Breech Hill has a very distinct sand and dirt mixture that is used to make essentially concrete. And this does not appear to be that. [00:29:25] Speaker B: Okay, that by itself doesn't mean anything. Like someone from. Not breach Hill was in the cell. This all I can kind of gather from that, which doesn't. [00:29:37] Speaker C: Interesting. [00:29:38] Speaker B: I guess it's just not earth shattering news. Like. [00:29:41] Speaker A: Right. [00:29:42] Speaker B: We know someone came here not from Breach Hill because breanna doesn't know who they are and she knows everybody. [00:29:47] Speaker D: Yeah, everybody. [00:29:49] Speaker B: So the fact that there is some remnant, some unidentifiable remnant of dirt, it's not something. [00:29:57] Speaker C: You were the one that wanted to make the roll. [00:29:59] Speaker B: Eureka. Yeah, I was being facetious because it also doesn't apply, but sure. So anyway, twin towels is gonna keep the information to himself. It's just. What level am I? Nice. Right? We're all. [00:30:15] Speaker A: Yes, that was more of a general question because I'm looking at the DC's bi level chart. All right. Is there anything else you'd like to do at this jail cell or. [00:30:27] Speaker C: No, I just have more question. Are faceless stalkers undead or extraplanar? [00:30:32] Speaker A: Extraplanar. [00:30:33] Speaker C: Okay, so it's not like the stalker checked itself in and swapped places. [00:30:38] Speaker E: I would like to use occultism to examine the dirt that, uh, tuto pointed out was. Was not from around here. To see if it's sacred ground, like a cemetery. Okay, would that work? [00:30:56] Speaker A: Yeah, give me a roll. [00:30:58] Speaker E: I got a 19 looking at the dirt. [00:31:01] Speaker A: You again? You know, it's not from Breach Hill. It's either from. Cause you can't quite nail it down. It's either from. [00:31:15] Speaker B: Also, would 21 nature give me anything about the dirt? I just realized, I just remembered I have assurance in nature 21. Yeah, to assist Rob in whatever he's doing. Cause that's 20. [00:31:26] Speaker A: Yeah, that gives. [00:31:26] Speaker B: That gives him a plus one. Right? [00:31:28] Speaker A: Okay. So you can tell it's still not quite high enough to know exactly where it came from, but it's looks like sand, and it's either from, like, Kentargo area or like, catapult. Like dirt. Sand. [00:31:56] Speaker E: This doesn't seem like dirt to me. You know, it's coarse, grainy, and gets everywhere. It's like that thing. [00:32:04] Speaker D: I hate sand. Thank you, Robert, for the Star wars reference. [00:32:13] Speaker C: I love that. That's probably the most hated and yet most quoted line. [00:32:20] Speaker D: So here's a question. How often does breach hell see travelers from different places? Is it like, is it a commercial hub where it would be feasible that, you know, somebody from Katapesh would be able to get in trouble and to end up in a jail cell or. You know what I mean? [00:32:47] Speaker A: So breach hill is a trade city, but the distance someone would have to travel, barring, like, teleportation or anything like that, it's a fair. It's like a full continent away. Like, it. You would assume that the dirt would be brushed off their shoes before they got here. [00:33:12] Speaker D: I see. Oh, boy. [00:33:15] Speaker C: Yeah. I still say we go talk to Greta. [00:33:17] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, that sounds like a feasible. [00:33:21] Speaker A: Okay, so you head over to the almost rebuilt city hall area where this whole adventure began for you, and you see Greta kind of giving directions to the townspeople to help and helping rebuild the town hall. Oh, hello. [00:33:47] Speaker C: Hello, Greta. How are you doing? [00:33:50] Speaker A: Hello. [00:33:51] Speaker D: How have preparations, or rather reparations been? Been going on? [00:33:59] Speaker A: Quite well. You see, Calmott is working off some of his debt to society. [00:34:08] Speaker D: Indeed, it is a good thing. [00:34:11] Speaker A: Yes. What can I help you with? [00:34:14] Speaker D: Well, we just returned from depositing some unlawful people, and we were quite unpleasantly surprised to discover that Vos Lorraine has escaped and it seems that she has been able to perhaps trick the guard into switching her body. Regardless, we just wanted to know more information about perhaps. What's the word I'm looking for? I was going to say the strangers in town or around the same time period or if you had seen anybody from. Where was it? Katapesh or that area. And what were you going to say? [00:35:20] Speaker C: I was just going to say we were understanding that she was supposed to stand trial and apparently she died in her cell before that could happen. There are massive air quotes around that. [00:35:32] Speaker A: Interesting. No, she. She did stand trial as far as. Yes, she did. You sentenced her. I don't. I don't know what you're talking about. [00:35:46] Speaker C: You were not informed then that she died and was buried? [00:35:51] Speaker A: Oh, no, no, she did pass, but after. After sentencing. [00:35:56] Speaker D: Okay. It perhaps seems that your. Your guards do not know that information, but at least the young man we spoke to. [00:36:07] Speaker C: Yes. Where. [00:36:08] Speaker A: Young man? [00:36:10] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:36:16] Speaker C: Where did the trial take place? [00:36:18] Speaker A: Here. I presided over it. [00:36:21] Speaker B: Do you. Do you not have a guard that's a young man? [00:36:23] Speaker D: Are they all old? [00:36:26] Speaker A: No, we tend not to employ younger children. [00:36:33] Speaker D: Okay, pause. Is he what you described him as? I'm so confused. [00:36:38] Speaker A: He is a teenager. The person you spoke with was a teenager. [00:36:42] Speaker B: And she's saying that they don't employ anyone who's a teenager. Or is Sheddenhe. [00:36:46] Speaker A: Yes. [00:36:47] Speaker D: Okay, Brianna's gonna start heading back to. [00:36:54] Speaker B: Yeah, actually, I'm gonna see, like. Can you come with us, please? [00:36:58] Speaker C: Yes, we may have to go now. Thank you. [00:37:01] Speaker B: Great. [00:37:02] Speaker A: Sure. And I'm assuming you all sprint back to the. [00:37:08] Speaker C: Yep. [00:37:09] Speaker A: All right. [00:37:10] Speaker D: He's probably already gonna be gone, honestly. [00:37:12] Speaker A: But probably as you get back, you see that there are bodies all over the jail cell. [00:37:24] Speaker D: Fuck. [00:37:26] Speaker A: Completely drained of humans. [00:37:29] Speaker B: Look, who are they? Are they prisoners? Are they guards? [00:37:32] Speaker A: Yeah, just prisoners. Including the two you just brought in. [00:37:37] Speaker D: Fuck. [00:37:38] Speaker C: Was there another one? He was another one. [00:37:41] Speaker A: Completely drained of blood. Yeah, caved in chests. All of the victims have caved in chests and two forked points. [00:37:52] Speaker B: Well, faceless stalkers do have a tongue that they use to. Fuck, fuckity fuck, fuck, fuck. [00:37:58] Speaker C: Yep. He was another one. [00:38:03] Speaker B: Yep. [00:38:04] Speaker D: Since. Bullshit. [00:38:06] Speaker C: Yeah, I did. [00:38:09] Speaker B: I sense bullshit. [00:38:12] Speaker D: Okay, those of us who know about these creatures, are they able to move? Are they able to teleport? Otherwise, we need to lock down. I was gonna say the city, but I mean, what? [00:38:30] Speaker C: Can I recall knowledge about them more specifically now, instead of just identifying it? [00:38:34] Speaker A: Um, you. I'll roll over your knowledge from before. No, they. As far as you know, they cannot. They're not magic users outside of their ability to shapeshift. [00:38:51] Speaker D: All right, so how long have we been, like, how long has it been since we left to see Greta and came back? Like, would he have been able to get far is I guess what I'm asking. [00:39:04] Speaker A: Um, Steve, based on their speed, probably not. You know that they can move average speed, so it's probably been about ten minutes to get there, to chat for a minute or two and then come back. [00:39:22] Speaker E: Nobody's gonna like this idea, and I don't think I do myself. But, um, how do we know one of these corpses isn't just it playing dead? [00:39:35] Speaker D: That's what I was gonna ask next. Is there a medicine check I can do just to kind of get a feel for. [00:39:43] Speaker C: Yeah. Or what? Could we roll occultism again? [00:39:47] Speaker E: Yes, I'll commence sniffing. [00:39:51] Speaker C: Uh, 20. Occultism. [00:39:54] Speaker E: I got a 26. [00:39:56] Speaker A: 26. [00:39:57] Speaker D: Uh, and 29 for a medicine check. [00:40:01] Speaker A: Okay, 29. Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary for knife sword sniffing. Doesn't reveal any, um, otherworldly smells or anything like that. You get an overwhelming smell of blood coming from the corpses. And, Saraya, you're 20. Also, nothing. Nothing looks out of the ordinary, just the smell of. [00:40:38] Speaker B: Is there any record of who's supposed to be here? Like, what. What prisoners are supposed to be here? And can we check it against the people who are actually dead, like, we. [00:40:47] Speaker A: Absolutely. So there were two members of the town that were in here for drunk and disorderly, essentially. You verify that they have been. They are deceased. You have the two that you checked in. You have the Scarlet Triad member and Hubrook Thorpe. They are also dead. Desanguinated, I guess is the word. [00:41:13] Speaker B: Exsanguinated. [00:41:14] Speaker C: Exsanguinated. [00:41:15] Speaker A: Exsanguine. No, I like deseguing. [00:41:18] Speaker B: It's like desalinated, but different. [00:41:20] Speaker A: Yes. [00:41:23] Speaker C: We were trying to save him, and now he's. [00:41:25] Speaker A: There's calm out. But you. You saw Calmont at the town hall, and you see that Greta had indeed checked, essentially checked him out to do his public service. [00:41:37] Speaker B: But he's dead. [00:41:39] Speaker A: No, no, no, he's not dead, but his name is on there, on the ledger. Yeah. And then there's just, you know, your generic town drunk who has. Who's basically lives in the jail cell, gets out and comes back. He is dead. And he has been. He is on the list as well. [00:42:07] Speaker B: All right, so we can all agree that these people are all dead. [00:42:11] Speaker C: Yes. [00:42:11] Speaker B: Okay, so Twintown's gonna pull out a short sword, and he's gonna go to each one of them he's gonna put it up under their rib cage and just pierce where their heart should be. Just one at a time. Just make sure like there is no harm in like stabbing a dead person is. It was his kind of question there. So go just to make sure. But the thing is like if it's not one of these people, if it wanted to leave it had ten minutes. Like we all know combat feels like forever, but it really is only a couple minutes. And then he moves just as fast as a person. He could be out of town by the time we finish this conversation. Like he just has to go. There's not a big place if that's all he wanted to do. [00:42:57] Speaker C: Well, I was going to. I was gonna see if any. Who has survival we could maybe track it. [00:43:02] Speaker D: Well my next point of order would be perhaps to sound the, I guess alarm for the rest of the guards to stay on on alert and kind of close off the entrances and exits to breech Hill. Not allowing anybody to leave or enter until we conducted our investigation. [00:43:26] Speaker E: Well, baker's dozen toenail is knifing everybody. I'm gonna cast prying eye and just sort of fly around the rest of this building to make sure there's no one else here that's acting weird or you know, actively somebody hiding in, consuming people around them. [00:43:45] Speaker B: Sure. [00:43:46] Speaker A: So you send out the eye and it does its loop in 1 minute and it does not see anything else out of the ordinary. [00:43:59] Speaker C: Can I have Jasper roll survival? He's a carrion bird. He's a raven. To see if he can track anything. [00:44:07] Speaker A: Sure. [00:44:09] Speaker C: Alrighty. He's got a plus nine which is better than my plus zero. [00:44:12] Speaker A: So. [00:44:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Well while knife sword sends his eye out, I send my bird out. Let's see what he gets. Oh damn. Jasper got like a 28. [00:44:20] Speaker E: And only one of those is slightly less disturbing than the other. But I'll let you figure out which one it is. [00:44:26] Speaker C: You have a disembodied eyeball or the fleshy homunculoid raven. I'll leave that up to our listeners. [00:44:32] Speaker A: The eyeball doesn't really seem anything out of the ordinary. Jasper flies up and starts to kind of sees some footprints and then it sees that the footprints change from human to larger feet like barefoot and then into like goblin claws. And then it. They change again to like bug bear claws. [00:45:08] Speaker E: Ha. [00:45:10] Speaker C: Are they like in the town? Out of the town. [00:45:12] Speaker A: Leaving town, leaving town, heading west on that road. [00:45:18] Speaker D: Wait, what? [00:45:20] Speaker E: I knew it was a bugbear. [00:45:21] Speaker D: Oh I see. [00:45:22] Speaker C: Yeah, like he's, he's leaving this way. Um, yeah, cool. [00:45:28] Speaker D: I think we need to keep going. Let's keep track of them if we're able. [00:45:32] Speaker C: Yeah, that's. I think. [00:45:33] Speaker D: Yeah, follow those footprints. I think we're still fresh on the tail. [00:45:36] Speaker C: Jesper just comes back and starts, like, pawing, like, basically, like, this way. [00:45:41] Speaker D: Hello. [00:45:42] Speaker C: Because I don't, uh. I am a familiar master. I don't know if that lets him talk to me, though. [00:45:47] Speaker B: Familiar master? Is that, like, a feat? [00:45:49] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a dedication. [00:45:50] Speaker B: Gotcha. Oh, did you take familiar? I really took authentication fee. [00:45:55] Speaker C: I did. That's why he gets four special familiar abilities instead of just. [00:46:03] Speaker B: If we know that he's headed that way. I will send Taysani in the air to. Because she's much faster than. Than we are. She's a fly, speed of 60. So she. There. It is unlikely that this creature will outpace her if they are within visual range. [00:46:21] Speaker A: Yeah, correct. So you have to Sani fly out, and it starts as soon as you get. So basically, once you get off this map, it starts to get slightly woodier. And so she kind of swoops down and she sees that because you can see through her eyes, right, Matt? [00:46:47] Speaker B: No, no, she's just my buddy. [00:46:49] Speaker A: Just your buddy. Okay, so she's looking for this faceless stalker. [00:46:57] Speaker B: Mm hmm. [00:46:58] Speaker A: You are all looking or chasing after this stalker. Correct, correct. I forget, have we done a chase in this game? [00:47:09] Speaker C: Yes. [00:47:11] Speaker D: Not in this one. [00:47:12] Speaker B: We definitely have. But it's probably. What episodes? 83. It could have been like 83 episodes ago. Something like that, yeah. [00:47:20] Speaker C: Well, I know we chased the people who kidnapped silver too. [00:47:24] Speaker B: Yes, that's right. Oh, and we chased a Gerhard pent up gas. Pendergast. That's it. [00:47:32] Speaker C: Yeah. No, I never remember his name. [00:47:36] Speaker A: Okay, Lockhart. Yeah, Lockhart, yes. So as you guys sprint out of the city, you guys run across some brambles, brash them. To get through these brambles, I need you guys to make a certain number of successes. [00:48:01] Speaker D: Okay, what if you are twin Talon and can leap over them? [00:48:06] Speaker B: What's the. What's the skill check we need to make? [00:48:09] Speaker E: I'll be resting in the backpack. [00:48:11] Speaker D: No. [00:48:13] Speaker E: Okay, I gotta get back that fifth little spell. [00:48:16] Speaker A: So you can either get. So you can either use acrobatics to tread carefully or a fortitude to push through the pain. [00:48:26] Speaker C: I know what I'm also, for the sake of argument and for rules reasons, I'm gonna say that one of the abilities I gave Jasper today was speech. So we can talk. [00:48:35] Speaker A: Okay, great. [00:48:38] Speaker D: Oh, jeez. [00:48:39] Speaker C: Hey, I sent him to track things would be useful if he could talk to me. [00:48:43] Speaker B: But that just means he can, like, physically speak to you, right? It's like he's like, he still has to come back. [00:48:48] Speaker E: He's losing the backpack. [00:48:50] Speaker C: I know. I don't. I don't think familiar can telepathically communicate anymore. [00:48:56] Speaker B: I think it's all. It's all in the abilities you give them, I'm pretty sure. I think you get a general sense or maybe that's ability to, like, of their. Of their, like, emotion, but. Yeah, but that would be super fucking jarring if all of a sudden he just came back and was like, hey, what's up, y'all? That guy's over there. [00:49:18] Speaker A: Who the fuck is that? [00:49:20] Speaker B: Why is such a no no? [00:49:21] Speaker C: It would still just be like. No, it would totally just be like, cracks. [00:49:27] Speaker E: There would be one less goblin on this quest. [00:49:32] Speaker B: So Twintallon got a 38 on his acrobatics check. [00:49:36] Speaker A: Okay, that gives you two points. [00:49:39] Speaker D: Okay, so Brianna got a 27 on her I fortitude. However, if it is a success because I have juggernaut, I get a critical success. [00:49:52] Speaker A: What if it's a critical success? Does it become a super critical? Yeah. [00:49:57] Speaker C: Oh, damn. That means Saraya got a critical success because she got a 31 on her fortitude. [00:50:02] Speaker A: Yes. [00:50:03] Speaker E: Wait, are you rolling fortitude or acrobat? [00:50:08] Speaker C: Yeah, you could roll either. [00:50:09] Speaker B: The chase mechanics work. Typically, it gives you two options for each obstacle and you choose the one that you think your character would do and or the one they have the best modifier for or the one that's funniest. You get to choose basically. Whatever. [00:50:27] Speaker C: See, I like the idea that, you know, the elf whose people are known for being nimble and graceful is like, nah, man, fuck this. And just power. [00:50:34] Speaker E: That's right. Okay, so I rolled acrobatics to cartwheel into the backpack to avoid the obstacle. [00:50:39] Speaker B: Makes sense. [00:50:42] Speaker A: You guys power through these brambles and as you make it to the next. So as you keep going, you notice that dark clouds have gathered overhead and a downpour of rain starts to just wash out the tracks, our trail. So I'm gonna give you three options for this one. Fortitude to just endure the deluge nature to, like, find ways to get around, like, less wet ways or survival to keep. Keep track of the muddy prints or the prints that are getting washed away. Because remember, these tracks continuously change from, like, different humanoid creatures. [00:51:36] Speaker C: Can I roll one and have Jasper roll the other? [00:51:38] Speaker A: No, only one of you. [00:51:39] Speaker C: All right, I will roll forward with you too. [00:51:41] Speaker B: Do we know what the DC's are for this, for these things? [00:51:44] Speaker D: Guess. [00:51:45] Speaker A: Oh, they're very low. [00:51:47] Speaker B: Then Twittal is just going to use his assurance and nature in Guinea. 21. [00:51:52] Speaker A: Okay, that's critical. Oh, no. [00:51:54] Speaker B: Okay, that's fine. [00:51:55] Speaker A: It's a regular success. [00:51:56] Speaker B: I didn't expect to be critical, but yeah, this one did not fail. [00:51:59] Speaker C: Yeah. 20 on. 20 on fortitude for Soraya. [00:52:02] Speaker A: Okay, that is a success. [00:52:06] Speaker D: A 30, critical success. [00:52:12] Speaker E: Nice sword. Got a 25 on survival to keep track of the trail while putting the awning out on the backpack so I don't get wet. [00:52:23] Speaker A: So you make it through. You manage to keep track of the footprints with a combination of Brianna's ability to just push through everything. And knifes are going, they're there, they're there. There's the prince. There's the prince. Backseat driving, essentially. [00:52:45] Speaker B: First time ever it's come in handy. [00:52:50] Speaker A: So as you sprint following these, these footprint, these prints, you find that they run up to a chasm that you can either leap across with athletics or perception to find the nearest path across. [00:53:08] Speaker C: I'm gonna roll perception. [00:53:10] Speaker A: Okay. [00:53:11] Speaker C: Cause my athletics is a minus 120 to find another way. [00:53:16] Speaker A: Okay. [00:53:17] Speaker B: 25 for perception for twin talent. [00:53:19] Speaker A: Lol. [00:53:21] Speaker D: I'm gonna brute force my way through this. 28 for brianna for athletics. [00:53:27] Speaker A: Okay. [00:53:28] Speaker E: Can I call my deception to make Brianna believe that it's smaller than it actually is? [00:53:33] Speaker C: That sounds, like very counterintuitive, I'm sure. [00:53:37] Speaker B: What, so she shorts her jump? [00:53:40] Speaker E: Yeah. No, no. Like, wiley coyote doesn't fall unless he realizes he's falling. [00:53:48] Speaker B: So you see us reach out to cover her eyes? Is that what you're trying to do? If you don't see yourself falling? [00:53:56] Speaker E: Never mind. [00:53:59] Speaker A: Sereo, what did you. [00:54:01] Speaker C: I have 20 to perception. [00:54:04] Speaker A: Okay. So you find another path around. [00:54:08] Speaker C: I just like the idea that, like. Yeah, like three of the party all skid to a stop, and Brianna just leaps and we get that shot from, like, underneath in the chasm of her just soaring over. [00:54:19] Speaker E: I'm gonna use. Yes. Can I use my perception? I got a 27 to help her, you know, like, give her like a bonus or something. [00:54:27] Speaker A: Yes, yes. And what does twin talon do? [00:54:31] Speaker B: Twintalon is perceptioning, and he percepted at a 25. [00:54:37] Speaker A: All right, so Twintalen and Saraya find a path around the chasm where Brianna and nice sword go, leaping anime style across the chasm lines behind them. As you cross, you begin to catch sight of the faceless stalker as they are almost across a perilous beam crossing a river. You can either use acrobatics to balance across or survival to stabilize the beam. [00:55:17] Speaker D: Acrobatics or survival. [00:55:20] Speaker C: I suck at both of those. [00:55:22] Speaker D: I'm gonna bank on my plus 13 acrobatics. [00:55:29] Speaker C: I'll try my plus two because I have a plus zero survival. [00:55:33] Speaker B: I got a 30. I'm sorry. Twin talon. Twin talon. Got a 30 acrobatics check. [00:55:39] Speaker D: Okay Brianna got a 20 acrobatic check. I might want to cash in my. [00:55:44] Speaker E: I got a nicer. Got a 33 acrobatics check to help Brianna. [00:55:50] Speaker C: Hurray. I got a 19. [00:55:53] Speaker A: Okay, so you all manage to get across the beam. [00:55:59] Speaker D: Good. [00:56:00] Speaker A: However, the faceless stalker ducks just ahead of you and just gets out of the way. So next up you see a forked path. You can either use your fortitude grandma to march through the longer path or use survival to navigate a shortcut. [00:56:28] Speaker D: I can't. Survival. [00:56:30] Speaker A: Shit. [00:56:31] Speaker D: So marching. [00:56:32] Speaker C: I'm gonna hero point that nat one. I just rolled. [00:56:35] Speaker A: Okay. [00:56:36] Speaker E: Um, I got you Brianna. I just got a Nat 20 on survival. [00:56:43] Speaker A: Okay well there you go. [00:56:46] Speaker C: We had two both ends of the scale there. [00:56:47] Speaker D: Combined forces were they 34 to 42 or. Which is super critical to say yes. [00:56:58] Speaker E: It is a 33 on survival. [00:57:00] Speaker B: And I got a 26 fortitude. [00:57:03] Speaker A: Nice. [00:57:04] Speaker C: And rerolling because I didn't want to take that nat one. I got a 30 fortitude. [00:57:08] Speaker B: Nice. That's certainly a worthwhile hero. Point spam. [00:57:12] Speaker A: Yes. [00:57:13] Speaker C: Yes. [00:57:15] Speaker A: You all catch up. [00:57:20] Speaker E: Oh now I'm gonna bottle you. [00:57:21] Speaker D: Cool. Brianna is gonna tackle him. [00:57:23] Speaker C: Do we need to roll initiative now or. [00:57:26] Speaker A: Um, you do that next episode. [00:57:33] Speaker D: I just want to tackle him. [00:57:35] Speaker C: Single foot bags. I never use them. [00:57:43] Speaker A: Thank you for listening to the Crack Die podcast.
