[00:00:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:00:53] Speaker D: Right. [00:00:53] Speaker E: Let's go. [00:00:53] Speaker C: So. [00:00:54] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:00:56] Speaker A: This was an easy one too. [00:00:59] Speaker D: What? [00:01:00] Speaker A: Dammit. All right, well, when we last left, we were still in the Wainwright shops. One of the members of the Scarlet Triad had left to rethink their life thanks to knife sword. Another one had an excellent counselor. Yes. Another one had surrendered to Brianna after slicing open vusker, the owner of the Wainwright shop. Knife Sword has stabilized him. And the leader, who you guys haven't found out his name, started to run away. Saraya then blinded and froze him to slow him down. And twin Talon thinks he knows where he is, but the way he's been rolling and swinging hasn't been able to find him. It is now Saraya's turn. And she was thinking, I have a bag of chalk. If I throw it, will it work? A la glitter dust? And my thought is kind of, yeah. [00:02:08] Speaker C: I don't expect it to, like, immediately reveal him in his, you know, fullness, but. [00:02:18] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:02:21] Speaker E: I. Nerds. [00:02:24] Speaker A: So go ahead and see if you can target him. [00:02:27] Speaker C: Oh, do I have to do the flat eleven check? [00:02:29] Speaker A: Flat eleven? [00:02:30] Speaker C: Aw, I was just going to target the space right in front of me. Cause he bumped into me. Damn it. [00:02:37] Speaker A: That's a five. [00:03:01] Speaker C: Okay. Do we want to try and take him hostage with his little surrendered buddy? [00:03:06] Speaker B: I mean, if we could take hostage, great. If not, I don't feel any big loss about it. I'm sure he's got a journal on there where he's detailed all of his plans. [00:03:14] Speaker D: The less people we kill, the better. [00:03:17] Speaker C: Okay. Would this count as a second attack? [00:03:19] Speaker A: This would. [00:03:21] Speaker C: Cool. I'm gonna make my check to try and hit him. [00:04:51] Speaker C: 10Ft, but I think it's piped. What do you mean? I think it's done now. I'm pretty sure that only lasts until my next turn. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Okay, so then I'm going to debilitate him so he takes a negative ten foot status penalty into a speed until the end of my next turn. [00:05:07] Speaker C: So he's still slowed or. Yeah. [00:05:11] Speaker A: What is it. What is the. What is it called? [00:05:13] Speaker B: It's debilitating strike the target takes. I can choose either to make him enfeebled or to give him a ten foot status penalty to his speed. So I've given. Chosen to give him a ten put status penalty to his speed. [00:05:26] Speaker A: Okay, there we go. Brianna, it is now your turn. [00:05:31] Speaker E: How badly hurt is the. How badly hurt is Rufus Reinwright? [00:05:38] Speaker A: I'd say if they had ten hit points, they lost half of them. [00:05:43] Speaker E: All right, I will. Battlefield medicine. [00:05:46] Speaker B: Wow. [00:06:19] Speaker B: Well, it's not a flat check. You rolled it all to two, but you still get your. Your healing bonus. Your medicine bonus. [00:06:25] Speaker A: 14 in medicine is 16, so you can do two d. Eight points of healing. [00:06:29] Speaker E: Let's do that. All right. Blood just shoots out of his eyeballs. [00:06:37] Speaker A: 15 points of healing. And he is. He sits up like he just put a spike of adrenaline into his chest. [00:06:46] Speaker B: Because you just put a spike of adrenaline into his chest. [00:06:49] Speaker A: He looks like he's ready to run a marathon. [00:06:52] Speaker E: She will then have turismitar and look between knife, sword and the person. Be like, keep watch on her. I will go see if I can help in the other room. All right, 10, 15. 20. What do I see? [00:07:07] Speaker A: You see a Ydezenhe chalk cloud just floating in the air and twin Talon and Saraya trying to hit something and blood kind of appearing out of nowhere. [00:07:19] Speaker E: Where? [00:07:20] Speaker A: Directly in front of twin Talon. [00:07:21] Speaker E: Okay, 510, 1520. And that's my turn. I guess I just move halfway into the room as slowly as humanly possible to, to see if I can help. Yeah, I'm lumbering over. [00:07:41] Speaker A: Knife, sword. [00:07:42] Speaker D: I'm going to look at the Scarlet Triad sneak and I'm gonna be you be on your best behavior. You know, I am the evil sorcerer feet Alzatub, and I'm gonna roll a deception check. [00:07:58] Speaker A: All right, 25. You see the Scarlet Triad members shrink back into their square, frightened of you. [00:08:06] Speaker E: Excellent. [00:08:07] Speaker D: Then I'm gonna, like, move over towards the hurt guy and see if there's anything I can do to help him. [00:08:12] Speaker A: He looks healthy. Now, you see the knife slash that was there has like, healed up. [00:08:19] Speaker B: There's a smiling soren ray bandaid on it. [00:08:24] Speaker E: Oh, she has a thumbs up. [00:08:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like buddy Jesus, but it's surrendering. [00:08:29] Speaker C: Yeah, buddy Grace. [00:08:33] Speaker D: Now, I just had a technical with the hero points. If it's a willpower, save that you're rolling and you make it. Can we make you reroll? [00:08:42] Speaker A: Buy the books? No. [00:08:44] Speaker B: Okay, some cool GM's let you do that. [00:09:24] Speaker C: The first creature that moves into the square must succeed at a Dc 14. Acrobatics check. Or take one d four piercing and one persistent bleed. Creature taking persistent bleed from caltrops takes a minus five foot penalty to speed. [00:09:38] Speaker A: Okay, so if I don't have acrobatics, it's a straight up d 20, right? [00:09:45] Speaker B: I guess so, yeah. And it's the first creature that moves into it, too. So we see them clearing as he. [00:09:51] Speaker C: Walks, and he starts leaving a little blood trail, I assume? [00:09:55] Speaker A: Yes. Then he takes another step into the next square and he tries to take another error, but he fails the second roll. So give me one d four piercing damage, please. [00:10:07] Speaker B: And does he take his poison? Persistent at the beginning or the end of his challenge? [00:10:10] Speaker A: When does he take that beginning of his turn. You take the persistent at the beginning, and then you try and save at the end. [00:10:16] Speaker C: I'm just gonna roll three, d, four, then that's seven altogether. Between the caltrops and the poison, he's also bleeding. One persistent bleed. [00:10:25] Speaker A: Right. You see, suddenly, as if appearing out of nowhere, a man lying on the ground with the shards of in his feet, blood pouring out of him. [00:10:39] Speaker C: Oh, I was really hoping that would work. [00:10:42] Speaker A: And combat is over. [00:10:45] Speaker B: So twin Talon would like to move next to him and see if he can stabilize him before he dies. [00:10:54] Speaker A: Sure. He's technically at dying one right now. [00:10:58] Speaker B: All right, so I'm gonna roll medicine check, and we're gonna see how it goes. Then we can if I roll a natural one. Well, no, that's probably not working out. Oh, did I roll a 16 for 28? Where have those been the entire combat? [00:11:11] Speaker A: Right, you managed to stabilize him. [00:11:14] Speaker C: Oh, now that we're out of combat, those caltrops will only last about a minute, so. Dissolved again. [00:11:22] Speaker B: And Tritellon's going to hogtie him, including putting a gag in his mouth, since he's a spellcaster and can't be too careful. [00:11:30] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Okay, break his hands. [00:11:33] Speaker B: No, I mean, we can frisk him. [00:11:35] Speaker C: And make sure he doesn't have any, like, uh. [00:11:37] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:11:38] Speaker C: Material components, too. [00:11:39] Speaker B: Components, yeah, definitely. Take. We shake him down, turn him upside down until everything falls out of his pockets. [00:11:44] Speaker D: I'm gonna yell in the other room. Anybody got any rope? I would hate to have to melt this person into a puddle. [00:11:52] Speaker E: I'm lumbering back over. Shule, handheld him some rope, pat him on the head, and then go about doing some healing while questioning is being done. [00:12:05] Speaker A: All right, so let's start with this. Let's start with what you get off of his body. You find the following items. Find a bloodseeker beak, which is affixed to his rapier. You find a very nice looking mace, average manacles marked with the symbol of the scarlet triad, a spellbook, infiltrators, thieves tools, and the keys to the manacle. [00:12:40] Speaker B: Okay, I'm going to manacle his right arm to his left leg, behind him, left ankle, and make sure his spell book is not on him and basically relieve him of all of his things. [00:12:55] Speaker A: All right, infiltrators. [00:12:57] Speaker B: We should probably pat down the other two as well. That are, that we've. [00:13:01] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll take a look at the one that's in this room. [00:13:04] Speaker A: All right, there you find a couple of daggers on their body. Find a bloodseeker beak. You also find some average manacles. [00:13:13] Speaker B: Wow. [00:13:13] Speaker A: The manacles are also marked with the symbol of scarlet triad. And you notice that they have very nice rapiers and regular thieves tools. [00:13:20] Speaker B: So the infiltrator thieves tools give a plus one item bonus to pick locks and disable device. [00:13:27] Speaker C: Nice. [00:13:27] Speaker B: So I will probably swap those out for my normal thieves tools. [00:13:30] Speaker D: Can I have your normal thieves tools? [00:13:32] Speaker B: Sure. I mean, these two have them as well. But if you want to set us thieves tools, you're very welcome to them. [00:13:37] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:13:37] Speaker A: All right, that's the all they have. [00:13:40] Speaker C: Um, are any of the daggers made of any interesting materials? [00:13:44] Speaker A: Nope. [00:13:46] Speaker C: Less interested. [00:13:48] Speaker A: Just regular. They each have three daggers. [00:13:52] Speaker D: I'm going to, um, recover my dagger. Speaking of daggers. [00:13:56] Speaker C: Okay, do you want more? They're probably short swords for you, but. [00:14:01] Speaker D: My dagger is silver plus one. And something else. [00:14:05] Speaker C: So fancy. [00:14:07] Speaker E: So fancy. [00:14:09] Speaker A: And I'm assuming you're going to use the manacles that you found to manacle them? [00:14:14] Speaker C: Yeah, probably. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Seems only fair. [00:14:17] Speaker E: All right, I am hopefully healing the wounded. I'll start with Twintallon. I'm doing the DC 21. I rolled and got a 27. [00:14:28] Speaker B: Nice. [00:14:28] Speaker E: So it's two d, eight plus. I've already forgotten. [00:14:32] Speaker B: I think it's just two d eight, but I could be wrong at a 20. I'm sorry. It's two d, eight. [00:14:38] Speaker E: Plus ten. Plus ten. How's 19 for you? [00:14:44] Speaker B: It's certainly better than where I was today. [00:14:46] Speaker E: How are you feeling? [00:14:48] Speaker C: Better than. Better than most, I'm sure. [00:14:51] Speaker E: Do you need healing? [00:14:54] Speaker C: Marginally. [00:14:56] Speaker E: Okay. Twin Talon. How bad is it? [00:14:58] Speaker B: Still not great. I mean, if you did that again, I still might not be halfway. Okay. [00:15:05] Speaker E: She will keep fixing him up until he's full, I guess. [00:15:08] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm only down twelve hit points, so, like, not that big a deal. [00:15:12] Speaker E: Okay. [00:15:12] Speaker B: Yeah. So after you just healed me for 19, I have 44 of 107. So, yeah, I was. I was pretty. Pretty far down, so I'm happy to get some more. [00:15:24] Speaker E: Okay. [00:15:24] Speaker C: Yeah, I was drinking a lot of elixirs and potions. [00:15:28] Speaker D: All right. [00:15:28] Speaker C: Be worse. [00:15:29] Speaker E: So I should keep rolling. [00:15:31] Speaker B: Maybe just one more time. We don't want to spend too much time in this guy's house. [00:15:35] Speaker E: Okay. [00:15:35] Speaker C: I mean, I'll go talk to him when she's doing it for the second time. [00:15:39] Speaker B: I mean, he's here in the room with us. Yeah. [00:15:40] Speaker A: Yeah. They figured that if they took someone hostage, that you, being the heroes of the town, would come and try and save me. And. Well, I guess they weren't wrong. It's unfortunate that our presence in town has run this kind of attention to. To you as opposed to us. But hopefully future people who might try this will not be so stupid. Or to do a perception check on that hug to see if knife sword swiped something from him. Not this time, but I guess not. [00:21:28] Speaker D: I am good at heart. Geez. [00:21:42] Speaker A: I'll also have you know, I advanced the clock six rounds. So it is now 05:07 and 12 seconds in the morning, because that whole fight took 12 seconds. [00:21:55] Speaker D: Brownie. Look at those doors. The double doors over there. What? Where the people came from. Are they moving? And I'm gonna jump in the backpack. [00:22:02] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:22:05] Speaker B: Well, the funny thing is, like, you are lucky you're way shorter than she is. You have to, like, climb up her and, like, flop in the back. I don't know. I just see it as this thing where he thinks he's being stealthy, and Brianna is just humoring him. [00:22:20] Speaker D: Yeah, I think you're probably right. [00:22:22] Speaker E: That's pretty much it. [00:22:24] Speaker B: Like he's his child and you're just like, okay, I don't see you hiding. I don't know where you could be. I guess twin Talon will kind of look at the others to kind of shrug to see if they have anything else they want to ask her. Now, I have information you want, and I don't really feel like giving it to you for free. [00:30:45] Speaker C: I roll him uncomfortably close to the hearth. So if I know anything about secret cabal type organizations, it's much less risky to just hire someone to kill you than it is to risk maybe you spilling your guts, maybe you don't. [00:32:22] Speaker B: And then Twitter will just, like, silently point at her, like, without looking at her. Just gonna point out the side. Someone who doesn't care about anything. The money. There's also one of these people who wandered off. They might be back. So. Look, there was a time when I would have threatened to dismember you piece by piece until you told us what we wanted to know, and then the reward would be the end of your suffering. But that time is behind me now. What I will say is that there are people who are not as enlightened as myself, who would have no problem killing you rather than risking you spilling the information to someone else. So, your options, as I see them, and I'm sure you think you have others, but in reality, you can talk to us, maybe you don't have to end up somewhere where you're so easily murdered. That someone like her, who's going to the same prison that you're going to, doesn't receive any kind of communique or any money or doesn't have any standing orders, possibly before they left, wherever it was you guys came from, to kill you while you are unable to defend yourself. The Scarlet triad, what's their deal, man. They're. They're funding assassin's guilds in one place. They're propping up cults somewhere else. There seems to be a lot of slavery happening as well. Like, what's. What's the goal? [00:36:54] Speaker A: Um, well, you. He looks at the. The sneak who seems to be trying to, like, scoop closer to him. We've come upon some more difficult times, and, uh, slavery has started to be a booming underground business. So we. We have been working as slavers. Yes. [00:37:26] Speaker B: Any idea why it's called the Scarlet triad? [00:37:30] Speaker A: Yes, it's a combination of three companies that merged into one. There was a mercantile guild in Catepesh that merged with a fleet of traders who ran a route between catapesh and Cheliaks. Cheliaks, up until recently, was very keen on our slave trade, and then a dwarven trade organis organization who maintained relations between the five Kings mountains and Cadapesh. So the triad was formed out of those three groups becoming one large consortium. [00:38:07] Speaker B: Okay, and if we wanted to find this scarlet triad, where would we. Where would we locate them? [00:38:13] Speaker A: Um, I I report directly to Las Lun. Laslin then gets orders from higher up. I'm not quite sure. Like I said, sunset imports in Contago was where I was supposed to meet Laslun. I also know that Las Luna is interested in learning more about the ring and has recently set up extensive operations in the nation of Ravenel. But I don't have any more information other than that. [00:38:46] Speaker B: Ravenel. What do I know? Do I know anything about Ravenel? [00:38:51] Speaker A: R a v o u n e l. I'm just making sure I'm saying it right. [00:38:56] Speaker B: Probably. [00:38:56] Speaker A: Ravanal, you know me. [00:38:57] Speaker B: I don't know. R a v o u n. Ravenel. Do I know anything about that country? [00:39:02] Speaker A: Give me recall. Knowledge. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Society. [00:39:08] Speaker A: Society. Yes, that would work. [00:39:10] Speaker B: 18. [00:39:11] Speaker A: Okay. Ravnul is a burgeoning confederation located in the southwestern Avistan, formed by the northernmost archduchy of Cheliaks. The archduchy of Ravenel. It seceded and became an independent country in 4717. Ar. It speaks. The capital is Kentargo. [00:39:37] Speaker B: Oh, okay. That's where Contago is. Okay, got it. Well, not everything, but I've heard of Contago. At least Matt has, so it's. [00:39:46] Speaker C: Can I also make a society check to see if I was, like, found any notes about it while I was looking through the bookstore? [00:39:55] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:39:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I got a 34. [00:39:58] Speaker A: Great. So you didn't actually find anything out about Ravenel, but you did come across some notes about the Scarlet Triad in general, you know that they are based in a structure called the Red Pyramid in the city of Katapesh and they currently are in good standings with the city's pact masters. As a result, the organization has the protection and sponsorship of one of the region's largest and most powerful city government. The Scarlet Triad is notoriously private, but you did get the critical success. So you do know that they are located in catapish in the red pyramid and they are considered in good standings. [00:40:45] Speaker C: Getting anyone to do anything about them is going to be difficult. [00:40:50] Speaker A: Correct. But Rav Newell is different than cadepesh. When everything happened, when the age of lost omens started with some of the cities, some of the larger kingdoms breaking up. Ravnul is its own place and catepetch is somewhere else. [00:41:11] Speaker C: Okay, all right, well, shall I? Don't want to talk too much in front of these two actually. Shall we take them to the card? [00:41:23] Speaker E: Might just try. [00:41:25] Speaker B: Yeah, probably. Good idea. He'll look at the sneak and I'll say, how much were you paid to kill him? [00:41:34] Speaker A: 50 gold. [00:41:35] Speaker B: Can I make a perception to see if that's bullshit? [00:41:38] Speaker A: Sure. Okay, what's your perception, DC? [00:41:41] Speaker B: My perception DC is 28. [00:41:45] Speaker A: 28 total and complete bullshit. [00:41:49] Speaker B: Okay, like I appreciate your craft and your commitment to the bit, but seriously though, what would it take you to not murder him in his cell? [00:42:01] Speaker A: Five gold. [00:42:02] Speaker B: All right, Twintal will take five gold and tuck it into some pouch. I'm sure there's like a pouch or a pocket somewhere on her clothing. Oh yeah, he'll just say, consider that contract cancelled. [00:42:12] Speaker A: Yeah, fine. Enough. [00:42:14] Speaker B: All right, let's get him out of here. [00:42:16] Speaker A: So you escort them to the guard, they look at you and say great, they take them in, they'll be sentenced as they should, and I. And with that we're gonna end it there. [00:42:36] Speaker B: Okay. [00:42:37] Speaker C: Alright, sounds good. [00:42:38] Speaker B: I just wanna say, if these people get away or end up dying mysteriously, I feel like we should just dedicate part of the citadel as a prison because we gotta believe the goblins will at least throw food at them and not murder them while we're away.
