Can't feel my face.
But before we get to that, a short warning from the master of disaster himself. Knife, sword. Dark hole, seagull teeth.
[00:02:25] Speaker C: Warning. If you don't like dismembered faces with guts and ooze dripping off of them, you shouldn't listen to this episode.
[00:02:34] Speaker D: Welcome to the 84th episode of the Cracked Dye podcast.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:02:41] Speaker D: Chase time.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: Hooray.
[00:02:42] Speaker E: Chase time. Yep. Cool, cool, cool. Chase.
[00:02:45] Speaker D: Chase.
[00:02:47] Speaker C: This is the Brick episode. I'm sorry.
[00:02:49] Speaker E: Chase.
[00:02:50] Speaker C: Chase. Chase.
[00:02:50] Speaker E: Chase. Chase.
[00:02:51] Speaker D: We use Wells Fargo personally.
When we last left, I don't know, things happened.
[00:03:02] Speaker B: Things straight out of the ap happened, I'm pretty sure.
[00:03:05] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, this is absolutely part of the aP. This is not.
[00:03:08] Speaker D: This is not me pulling stuff out of my butt.
When we last left, you guys were chasing a faceless stalker because you thought that the faceless stalker knew information.
[00:03:25] Speaker F: No, I think we just want to stop it from murdering other people.
[00:03:28] Speaker B: Yeah, we're pretty sure he killed, like, five people, three of which are just drunk people, because there were two drunken disorderlies and then one drunk guy, and then also two people we just brought in.
[00:03:39] Speaker D: Yeah, sounds about right.
[00:03:42] Speaker B: Also, where are all the fucking guards in this place? Right? Cause none of them were apparently killed, and they're just not around listening to five people get murdered.
[00:03:50] Speaker F: No one was there to be, like, hey, this, like, pimply faced kid doesn't work with us, or.
[00:03:55] Speaker B: Yeah, or hear the sounds of five deaths? Like, that's.
There's a lot to be explored in the judicial system of Breach Hill.
[00:04:05] Speaker D: Look, if you want to explore the judicial system in Pathfinder, I recommend watching our twitch show Absalom in order.
[00:04:15] Speaker F: Wow, he set up this whole sideventure just for that plug.
[00:04:22] Speaker B: It's a long way to go, and the well was dry.
[00:04:25] Speaker E: Oh, no.
So, Chase.
[00:04:27] Speaker D: So you guys managed to catch up to this creature, and now you have all managed to get here. Here would be a crossroads map that I randomly threw up. Bleh.
That was my throw up sound.
[00:04:49] Speaker B: Nice?
[00:04:50] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:04:51] Speaker B: Stay classy.
[00:04:54] Speaker D: It's one of those days.
[00:04:56] Speaker B: Faceless stalker looks just like a naked mole rat or something.
[00:05:00] Speaker F: It looks like one of the ghosts from Crimson Peak at this scale.
[00:05:03] Speaker D: Sorry, I had to quickly throw together a combat map and characters.
[00:05:08] Speaker B: No, I mean, that is what they look like. It's just.
[00:05:13] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:05:14] Speaker B: Weird.
[00:05:14] Speaker F: Looking at this scale specifically, it's just, like, a really weird, skinny, gangly red thing.
[00:05:19] Speaker D: It's true. Okay, let's. You know, let's not wait any longer. Let's roll some initiative.
[00:05:26] Speaker E: Can I also have some health points back?
[00:05:28] Speaker D: Because apparently, uh, you guys haven't said you were healing.
[00:05:32] Speaker F: Yeah, that's from the combat with the Scarlet triad in this.
[00:05:36] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:05:37] Speaker B: Yeah. Which means if you use any spells in that combat, those are also gone.
[00:05:40] Speaker D: That is true.
[00:05:41] Speaker B: Although focus. You probably hear your focus points back. It's unlikely you haven't spent ten minutes downtime.
[00:05:47] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:05:48] Speaker E: So Brianna got a 21.
[00:05:50] Speaker C: I would just like to announce that all of knife storage content for today was pre recorded, as he was not available on the date of release.
[00:05:58] Speaker B: I don't. I don't understand what's happening.
[00:06:00] Speaker F: 21, verse 30.
[00:06:02] Speaker D: All right, so starting at the top of the initiative, order.
Knife, sword.
[00:06:08] Speaker C: Okay. All right. Are we trying to capture or kill?
[00:06:12] Speaker E: Do we know capture, preferably. I think we want to question them, right?
[00:06:17] Speaker B: That would probably be best. Although I'm starting to wonder if we capture him, if someone won't just come murder him as soon as we're done.
[00:06:25] Speaker F: It's just stalkers all the way down.
[00:06:27] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna cast suggestion on it.
[00:06:30] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:06:31] Speaker C: To tell it to stay there.
[00:06:34] Speaker D: All right. And I'm assuming I make a will save?
[00:06:39] Speaker B: That is correct, yes.
[00:06:42] Speaker D: Let's see, let's see.
How is a 36?
[00:06:50] Speaker C: That is ten points above my thing.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: So critical success, is it 26 was your DC.
[00:06:57] Speaker C: We'll save DC 27?
[00:06:59] Speaker B: Yeah. I thought 27 was your number.
[00:07:01] Speaker D: Okay, before.
[00:07:02] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:07:03] Speaker D: So it's just a regular success?
[00:07:04] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:07:05] Speaker D: The target is unaffected and thinks you were talking to them normally, not casting a spell.
[00:07:09] Speaker C: Okay, stay there, please.
[00:07:14] Speaker D: No.
All right. And you moved and you cast. All right, I. Next up, twin Talon.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: Okay, so twin Talon is not gonna give Tisani any kind of instructions this turn. So she instead is just gonna move up to the faceless stalker.
[00:07:36] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:07:37] Speaker B: Her speed is 60, so she has plenty of movement to get there. Ding.
[00:07:42] Speaker D: And. Okay, can you give me a.
I'm gonna say will safe for her.
[00:07:51] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:07:52] Speaker D: Yes, will safe.
[00:07:54] Speaker B: 28.
[00:07:55] Speaker D: 28 is a regular success.
So she is frightened one.
[00:08:04] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:08:05] Speaker C: All right.
[00:08:05] Speaker B: And twin Talon is going to move up. Why is everything always 5ft away from where I want it to be? So Twintown will take two actions to.
[00:08:15] Speaker D: Move up then, and give me a wonderful will save, please.
[00:08:22] Speaker B: 23.
[00:08:24] Speaker D: 23 is a fail. So you are frightened too.
And just so we all remember, frightened is you take a status penalty equal to the value on all your checks and DC's at the end of each of your turns, it decreases by one.
[00:08:45] Speaker B: I mean, if it decreases by one every turn, I'm not super worried about it because, like, I think the best I'm gonna get if I reroll is a regular success, which is still negative one, and I'm only making one attack this round anyway, which is my best attack. So I'm gonna save my hero point. I'm gonna need it right now for my attack, by the way. Just.
[00:09:04] Speaker D: I'm gonna call that at the start of this session. Of course, everyone got a hero point.
[00:09:13] Speaker B: That is a natural 19 for a 35.
[00:09:17] Speaker D: 35 will hit.
[00:09:19] Speaker E: Okay, nice.
[00:09:21] Speaker B: So. So it's 14 normal damage. Is he susceptible to precision damage?
[00:09:27] Speaker D: That is a good question.
I don't see it being immune to that. Okay, so then I'm gonna, I'm gonna say yes.
[00:09:38] Speaker B: Okay. Then he takes 14 regular and seven precision, for a total of 21 points of piercing damage.
[00:09:45] Speaker D: All right, you slice some mud flesh off of them.
[00:09:51] Speaker E: Mud flesh.
[00:09:53] Speaker D: Mmm.
So it's now the faceless stone soccer's turn for its first action. It reaches into itself and pulls out a cleaver.
[00:10:05] Speaker B: Of course it does.
I think it's just like. That's why I was curious if it was immune to critical hits. Because it's just like a bunch of goo.
[00:10:12] Speaker D: It then swings out at twin talent. Does a 27 hit you.
[00:10:20] Speaker B: It does.
[00:10:21] Speaker D: All right, so you are going to take 28 points of slashing damage.
[00:10:27] Speaker E: You're too far away.
[00:10:29] Speaker D: And then with its third action, it's going to swing at Sannie. 36.
[00:10:40] Speaker B: 36 is a critical hit.
[00:10:43] Speaker D: Oh, ouch. How many hit points does Sannie have?
[00:10:48] Speaker B: 76.
[00:10:50] Speaker D: Oh, okay, so she's still up as she takes 58 points of damage.
[00:10:57] Speaker B: Mmm.
[00:10:57] Speaker F: Damn.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: How many combats is it normally till you get a new animal companion? Is two the number because it feels slow?
[00:11:05] Speaker F: Look, don't they. Don't they go through all the fighting, the drying phases? We just.
[00:11:10] Speaker D: Yes, they do.
Brianna, it is your turn.
[00:11:15] Speaker E: Yeah, no, we're not gonna stand for that. So Brianna is going to move up.
[00:11:21] Speaker D: Might I remind you, retreat is always an option.
[00:11:25] Speaker E: No, fuck that. Absolutely not. Do I have enough movement to get around? No, I do not. So she is gonna step to its side and smack it with her scimitar.
[00:11:38] Speaker B: Okay, so I have a question. Question. The frightened value, do they go down by one at the end of every turn?
[00:11:45] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:11:46] Speaker B: So Taysani is now not frightened and I'm only frightened one.
[00:11:48] Speaker D: Correct. And Brianna, I need you to give me a will save you got it.
[00:11:54] Speaker E: How's it? 19.
[00:11:55] Speaker D: Yeah, 19 is a critical failure. What?
[00:12:01] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:12:02] Speaker B: What?
[00:12:02] Speaker D: Oh, no, no, no. Regular failure. I can't do math. Regular failure. I'm sorry. You're frightened too.
[00:12:09] Speaker E: All right. Um, didn't paladins have, like, stuff against fear in precision? If memory serves, they did.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: It is now a feat. Yeah, and it doesn't do nearly as much. Yeah, because used to be paladins are immune to fear and they would give other people around them, like, a bonus to save, like plus four.
Yeah. Or of courage. Now it's like you are. You get a plus one bonus to fear saves, and sometimes also people near you might get it. Like they've really nerfed it. Yeah. For something that was so niche.
[00:12:41] Speaker E: Yeah, that's a shame.
[00:12:42] Speaker B: Like, being immune to fear, I never thought was a huge boon. I mean, it's great when it comes up, but it's not like it's every fight.
[00:12:47] Speaker E: Right?
[00:12:48] Speaker D: Well, the good news is you're temporarily immune to this for 1 minute after your roll, no matter what.
[00:12:56] Speaker E: Okay.
I'm guessing she steps up. She swings with a 34, by the way.
[00:13:02] Speaker D: Yes, that will hit.
[00:13:04] Speaker E: Okay. And I guess as she makes contact, something spooks her. Enough.
Take 14 damage, please.
[00:13:13] Speaker D: All right.
[00:13:14] Speaker B: Twintalon would like to use his reaction.
[00:13:16] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:13:17] Speaker B: To attack the faceless stalker.
[00:13:19] Speaker D: Okay, sweet. You could just put Sasani out of her misery.
[00:13:23] Speaker B: I. No, I can't, honestly, because I have to attack the same target that my ally attacked.
[00:13:28] Speaker D: Oh, okay, okay, cool, cool, cool.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: I would have I would have 34 to hit.
[00:13:32] Speaker D: That will hit.
[00:13:34] Speaker B: Okay, so there's my sneak attack. So five sneak attack plus 17 regular damage.
[00:13:42] Speaker D: All right, so Brianna double moved and swung. Saraya.
[00:13:48] Speaker F: Saraya is going to move up just a little bit, about 20ft.
Perfect. And then she's gonna throw a frost file to start.
[00:13:59] Speaker D: Okay? Yes.
[00:14:00] Speaker F: So I'm gonna throw first.
Okay. I thought that was gonna land on a one again and I was gonna be really upset.
Does a 21 hit it critically?
[00:14:10] Speaker D: Miss.
[00:14:11] Speaker F: Damn. Okay, well I'm gonna hear a point that because that was a four and I'm upset.
[00:14:17] Speaker B: A 21 is a critical miss.
[00:14:20] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:14:20] Speaker B: Holy shit.
[00:14:22] Speaker F: Are you kidding? I rolled the same fucking number.
[00:14:25] Speaker D: Well, the good news is we have some new critical hit and miss cards in there. So go ahead and draw one.
[00:14:33] Speaker F: I hate this.
Alright, number 46 until the end of your next turn. Your attacks require an extra action to use. It's called aim carefully next time. Damn it. Okay, so that means I cannot use my last attack because I moved and attacked once and I only have one more action. Can I recall knowledge again?
[00:14:56] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:14:57] Speaker F: That's occultism.
[00:14:58] Speaker D: Yes, please.
[00:15:00] Speaker F: And 33.
[00:15:03] Speaker D: All right, so you pass.
What? One question. Would you like to know?
[00:15:09] Speaker F: Everybody okay. Asking what the hell this artwork.
[00:15:12] Speaker B: Glasses, at least 31.
[00:15:15] Speaker F: Clearly.
[00:15:15] Speaker B: Brienne and I both hit it with a 34. We thought that. I mean, I thought I was pretty impressed with us. I was like, yeah, 34. We're doing okay now. It looks like we're barely adequate.
[00:15:25] Speaker D: I know that feeling.
[00:15:30] Speaker F: Is it weak to anything? Resistances, weaknesses?
[00:15:33] Speaker D: It is not weak to anything. It is resistant to bludgeoning damage.
[00:15:37] Speaker F: Okay, don't. Don't try to just whack it.
[00:15:40] Speaker D: All right, knife sword, back to you.
[00:15:43] Speaker C: This might be dumb, but here we go. I'm gonna cast feast of ashes on it.
[00:15:49] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:15:50] Speaker B: Oh, a new knife sword spell. Tell us more.
[00:15:53] Speaker F: What does that do?
[00:15:55] Speaker C: I'm gonna curse the target with hunger so no food can sate it. The target must attempt with a fortitude save.
[00:16:00] Speaker D: Okay, let me try. A fortitude save lasts one week.
[00:16:06] Speaker F: Am I the only one who's afraid that might send it on a feeding frenzy?
[00:16:09] Speaker D: I rolled a natural one.
[00:16:13] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:16:15] Speaker D: So that's a critical fail.
[00:16:17] Speaker C: Mm hmm. And I am casting this at fifth level, so it's heightened.
[00:16:22] Speaker D: Oh boy.
[00:16:23] Speaker C: So, um, critical failure creature takes two d, four damage each day. Twice as much as usual for hunger. Oh, they're fatigued.
[00:16:32] Speaker B: Okay. I wondered where this was going, but the fatigue is a nice little.
[00:16:36] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:16:38] Speaker B: Oh shit.
[00:16:40] Speaker F: What?
[00:16:40] Speaker B: I forgot I have the debilitations. I could have debilitated him twice.
[00:16:45] Speaker C: He's taking 44 damage every day because it's a critical failure.
[00:16:49] Speaker D: Wait, it's spell. You're casting it at fifth level, so it is a heightened plus one, which means it heightens every level, and it is a second level spell. So it's two d, four for second level. Four D, four for 3rd, 64 for fourth, and for fifth.
[00:17:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:12] Speaker D: So you're doing eight d, four damage, sir.
[00:17:15] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:17:16] Speaker B: And it's fatigued.
[00:17:17] Speaker C: 23.
[00:17:18] Speaker D: 23 points of damage. And it's fatigued, meaning. And it can't recover from the fatigue.
[00:17:27] Speaker B: All it has to do is wait a week.
[00:17:29] Speaker D: Yeah. Oof.
[00:17:30] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:17:30] Speaker F: Just the whole last week.
[00:17:32] Speaker D: All right, well, that was all three of your actions. Knife, sword. Really well done. Twin Talon.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: All right. Twin town's gonna remember that he has all of his abilities. That's not true. I'm gonna forget anything that's useful.
[00:17:46] Speaker F: Frightened.
[00:17:48] Speaker B: I'm also pretty sure I'm immune to my own battle medicine. Cause I'm pretty sure I battle medicine myself during that last fight.
[00:17:54] Speaker D: That is correct.
[00:17:56] Speaker B: I didn't know I was gonna need to keep track of that or else I would have.
[00:17:59] Speaker D: Is battle medicine for the day or an hour?
[00:18:02] Speaker B: It is for the day.
[00:18:04] Speaker D: Ooh. Okay.
[00:18:05] Speaker E: From yourself, though, right?
[00:18:07] Speaker B: From each person who does it. So if we all had battle medicine, I would only be immune to my own because I'm the one who did it. If you give it to me, then I'm immune to yours, etc. Etcetera. So on my turn again, I'm not giving Taysani any instructions. So she is going to look at me and look at Brianna and look at the faceless stalker, and she's just gonna shuffle south, okay. To give Brianna flanking, and she's gonna just generally flap about.
[00:18:36] Speaker F: Checks out.
[00:18:37] Speaker B: That twintalon's gonna go.
Also. It is flat footed to me. I forgot that last time. I don't think it would have made a huge difference, but it's important, especially now that we know it's AC is stupid.
[00:18:49] Speaker D: Well, it's also flat footed to Brianna at this moment.
[00:18:53] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. That is my goal. I wanted her not to have to use any of her actions. That way, she could attack twice and raise her shield or lay hands or whatever. Whatever she wants to do, which is her. The world is her oyster, as it were.
[00:19:07] Speaker E: Thank you.
[00:19:08] Speaker B: 28 versus its flat footed ac that.
[00:19:11] Speaker D: Will hit because it is flat footed.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: Okay. So the first thing I want to do is remember that I have debilitations and make it enfeebled. One okay.
[00:19:21] Speaker E: And Dan.
[00:19:22] Speaker B: And Dan, I'm gonna roll my damage.
So 14 normal, plus the six sneak attack is 20 total. All right, then I'm going to attack it again.
That is a natural two for a 15.
[00:19:37] Speaker D: That is a critical failure.
[00:19:39] Speaker B: Yeah. No, no, no. That's gonna be a hero point.
[00:19:42] Speaker D: Thanks.
[00:19:42] Speaker C: For me, I say that was a crack die because it was on 20 for just a second.
[00:19:48] Speaker B: Yeah, that's where it should have stayed if it knew it was good for it. It'll go to a natural 19 instead. So 32 versus. It's.
[00:19:54] Speaker D: It's flat footed ac that will hit.
[00:19:56] Speaker B: Okay, so this time I will debilitate it again. So it now has a negative ten to its move speed.
[00:20:02] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:20:04] Speaker B: It's the only other debilitation I can give it, so.
[00:20:06] Speaker E: Okay. No, might as well.
[00:20:08] Speaker B: That's. That's what it gets for now. Throw some damage its way. So 20 normal damage and four sneak attack damage.
[00:20:20] Speaker D: All right. It's not looking great.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: Great. And then for my last action, I'm going to draw a shield.
[00:20:29] Speaker D: Okay. We're gonna put it on the fridge because it's such a good drawing.
[00:20:32] Speaker B: Thank you.
All right, I have many scouts also. At the end of that term, my frightened level goes to zero.
[00:20:40] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:20:41] Speaker C: So you see, so he's now fatigued, flat footed and female. Two people.
[00:20:45] Speaker B: One. I can only build one. I can only enfeeble him one.
[00:20:48] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[00:20:49] Speaker D: Well, it's the faceless stalker's turn. And with this cleaver. Well, first off, I'm gonna roll a D. Three.
One will be Brianna, two will be twin Talon, and three Brianna. Well, three will be Tasani.
[00:21:08] Speaker E: Brianna, Brianna, Brianna.
[00:21:09] Speaker D: Two twin Talon. It's gonna swing first at twin talent. Okay.
[00:21:16] Speaker E: Whatever happens, I'm gonna. Liberating step.
[00:21:20] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:21:21] Speaker D: 39.
Is that a hit?
[00:21:24] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: That's a critical hit.
[00:21:26] Speaker D: That is a critical hit.
[00:21:28] Speaker E: I liberate him for whatever happens.
[00:21:30] Speaker D: Okay, 52 points of damage.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: That's double what I have, so.
[00:21:36] Speaker D: No, it's not. You have 42 currently.
[00:21:38] Speaker B: Do I? Oh, I'm looking at my initiatives. 26. Sorry.
[00:21:42] Speaker D: Yeah, no. Okay, but liberating step is how much.
[00:21:47] Speaker B: It'S level plus two. Is that correct?
[00:21:49] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:21:50] Speaker B: Okay, that's eleven off of 52 is 41. Which leaves me for one hit.
[00:21:57] Speaker D: Point left. What? What?
[00:22:00] Speaker E: Sorry, it's not much.
[00:22:01] Speaker B: Hey, that's. That's the difference between being unconscious and being conscious.
[00:22:05] Speaker C: Now we play the game for real.
[00:22:06] Speaker D: You also may take a step.
[00:22:09] Speaker B: What's that?
[00:22:10] Speaker D: Don't you also get to move? If you like?
[00:22:13] Speaker B: Yes, if I would like.
[00:22:15] Speaker D: All right.
[00:22:15] Speaker E: I don't think he wants to.
[00:22:16] Speaker B: I'm right where I want to be.
[00:22:18] Speaker D: All right, second attack.
[00:22:20] Speaker B: Actually, hold on. I can make two steps, right?
[00:22:22] Speaker D: Yes you may.
[00:22:23] Speaker B: So I'm going to take one step into Brianna's square and then one step around the other side of the faceless stalker.
[00:22:29] Speaker D: Now does that, would that trigger an attack of our opportunity?
[00:22:32] Speaker E: Not if it's a step.
[00:22:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:33] Speaker D: Oh that's right. Step, step. All right, it's fine. I'll swing at Brianna. 36 versus Brianna's ac.
[00:22:41] Speaker E: That is not a critical hit but I'll take it.
[00:22:44] Speaker D: All right.
[00:22:45] Speaker B: Also for those out there who don't see these roles, the faceless stalker is attacking. That's its second attack. So it's at negative five we would hope.
[00:22:54] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:22:55] Speaker B: And it's plus 18 and then it attacks. It's two d. Twelve plus six damage.
[00:23:01] Speaker D: So Brianna, you took 13 points of damage. I'm gonna roll a d two. One is Brianna, two is twin Talon.
[00:23:10] Speaker E: Come on.
[00:23:11] Speaker D: One two.
[00:23:15] Speaker E: Cusp.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Okay, that's how it happens sometimes. It's okay.
Fuck.
[00:23:21] Speaker D: Swinging a twin Talon.
[00:23:23] Speaker C: I guess he'll be single.
[00:23:24] Speaker D: Talon 32.
[00:23:25] Speaker B: 32 will hit.
[00:23:29] Speaker E: You did raise your shield though.
[00:23:30] Speaker B: No, I did not raise my shield. I drew out a shield. I didn't have it out before.
[00:23:35] Speaker D: Oh, and that's just a regular hit, right?
[00:23:37] Speaker B: It is just a regular hit to my one hit point. Yes.
[00:23:41] Speaker D: Yes. All right, 25. So that drops you to zero and you are dying.
[00:23:48] Speaker B: One hit rolls so well against me every time. Like when it rolled against Brianna it got a five and a two and against me it got a nine and a ten. And the time before that it did 48 hit points.
[00:24:01] Speaker D: All right Brianna, it is your turn. You see this thing hack at twin Talon and he drops down. Yeah.
[00:24:09] Speaker E: No, no, no. Not allowed. Brianna is going to battlefield medicine as her first action.
[00:24:17] Speaker D: Okay?
[00:24:18] Speaker E: Keeping her friend from dying, keeping him in the fight. I'm guessing succeed with a 30.
[00:24:27] Speaker D: Yes, that's a critical success.
[00:24:31] Speaker E: Which means how much can I give him back?
[00:24:34] Speaker D: Four d eight.
[00:24:35] Speaker B: What is.
[00:24:36] Speaker D: Oh oh that's.
[00:24:37] Speaker B: Hold on. What is your level of medicine?
[00:24:40] Speaker E: Yes, it is an expert.
[00:24:41] Speaker B: Okay, so if it is expertise then your DC was 20, which you still beat by ten.
[00:24:48] Speaker D: DC 20, it's two d eight plus ten.
But since you critted it's four d eight plus ten.
[00:24:58] Speaker B: I think it's weird that the ten doesn't get doubled too. That's all I'm saying. I know looking at the rules, it doesn't specifically say that.
[00:25:06] Speaker E: Sabriana just reaches over and I stabs him with a shot of adrenaline and mixed with some form of fiction style. Yeah, mixed with some health potion in there that Surya, I'm guessing had been working on to see if it could be some, like, life saving thing. And here we go.
[00:25:29] Speaker F: Yeah, I could have been working on like, you know, injectable elixirs of life.
[00:25:33] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:25:35] Speaker D: You are healed for 32 points of damage, twin Talon. So you're no longer dying, you're just wounded one.
[00:25:43] Speaker E: All right, that was my first action.
[00:25:45] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:25:45] Speaker E: For my second, I want to strike him.
[00:25:48] Speaker D: All right. Twin Talon.
[00:25:50] Speaker E: No, this creature, I'm guessing a 28 failed.
[00:25:54] Speaker D: No, because it is flat footed. It will hit. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, actually, because it's flat foot.
[00:26:01] Speaker B: Go, go. Terra dact.
[00:26:02] Speaker D: It's flat footed and fatigued is why you're ahead. You're able to hit it.
[00:26:06] Speaker E: And then he will take 18 points of damage.
[00:26:10] Speaker D: Yes, he will.
[00:26:11] Speaker B: Twin Talon would like to use his reaction.
[00:26:13] Speaker D: You're prone. Are you still able to do that?
[00:26:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna get a negative, but I can still sweep the leg.
[00:26:19] Speaker D: Okay, sweep the leg.
No mercy.
[00:26:24] Speaker B: That's a natural 20.
[00:26:26] Speaker D: That critically hit. Draw that crit card.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: Oh, good.
Okay, this is just a paizo card. I guess technically it's bludgeoning. Cause it's just unarmed.
[00:26:38] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:26:39] Speaker B: And it's dumb. Normal damage, the target takes one persistent bleed. Damage that cannot be removed until the target has been subject to magical healing.
[00:26:48] Speaker D: All right, how much damage do you do?
[00:26:51] Speaker B: Not much. Oh, you know what, though? It's still sneak attack damage. Though I still get sneak attack.
[00:26:58] Speaker E: Nice.
[00:27:00] Speaker B: Six from sneak attack, two from the die. An additional six from modifiers is 14 damage total to the faceless stalker on my reaction.
[00:27:11] Speaker D: All right, it doesn't.
[00:27:12] Speaker B: And he's bleeding.
[00:27:13] Speaker D: And he's bleeding. It all doesn't seem to go through because Saraya told you he was resistant to bludgeoning damage, but still.
[00:27:22] Speaker B: Yeah, my hands aren't, unfortunately.
[00:27:25] Speaker D: All right, Brianna, would you like to do one more action?
Sure.
[00:27:30] Speaker E: I wish there was a thing where I could, like, raise my shield, but still be able to use my shield with my friends. Other than liberating step, I don't know.
[00:27:40] Speaker B: Anyway, so those are feats from the. Was it bastion?
[00:27:44] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:27:44] Speaker E: Yes, it is. Yeah, I'll raise my shield. Why not?
[00:27:47] Speaker D: All right, add to your acoustical. Saraya.
[00:27:51] Speaker F: Alrighty. Well, since my attacks still take two actions, I'm going to mix up a bomb I don't have prepped with my quick alchemy. I'm going to make a dread ampoule and throw that little buddy here.
[00:28:08] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:28:09] Speaker B: Watch out.
[00:28:10] Speaker F: Knife sword does a 30 hit him.
[00:28:13] Speaker D: A 30 will hit. Hooray.
[00:28:17] Speaker F: So it does two d, six mental damage plus two. So that's eleven mental damage. On a hit, the target becomes frightened. One. So that's also a thing.
[00:28:27] Speaker B: Yeah. How do you like being frightened, dickhead?
Also, Brianna is no longer frightened at this point.
[00:28:33] Speaker D: No, she is not.
[00:28:34] Speaker F: Take that.
And that's all I can do because that took three actions.
[00:28:40] Speaker D: Knife, sword.
[00:28:41] Speaker C: Mmm.
Okay, I'm gonna be like, are you hungry?
How about some magic missile?
[00:28:51] Speaker B: All right, who are you gonna use? All three actions.
[00:28:56] Speaker F: Oh yes.
[00:28:57] Speaker B: So what level did you cast that spell at?
[00:28:58] Speaker C: Four.
[00:29:00] Speaker D: So 14 points of damage. And knife sword just shoots these forces of energy into the faceless stalker and it pierces through the muddied skin, flying over twin talons head, and it dies.
[00:29:15] Speaker F: Finally.
[00:29:17] Speaker E: No.
[00:29:19] Speaker B: Oops.
[00:29:21] Speaker E: Doesn't it go unconscious first?
[00:29:23] Speaker C: What? Boo. He's still hungry for a week.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: Okay, my punch was technically non lethal.
[00:29:31] Speaker E: I was hoping that my strokes might were also non lethal, but I guess nothing.
[00:29:36] Speaker B: Oh no, we have to declare those. And then you take a negative four, I think.
[00:29:40] Speaker E: I didn't specify, I guess. Yep.
[00:29:42] Speaker D: Yeah, sorry.
[00:29:43] Speaker C: I thought he killed, you know, 3000 teeth and I was just like, you know.
[00:29:48] Speaker E: No, no.
[00:29:49] Speaker C: I was overcome with grief.
[00:29:53] Speaker B: I appreciate your vengeance, buddy. Twintalum will grab his short sword off the ground and sheathe it and pick himself up.
[00:30:01] Speaker E: I'm feeling okay.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: Uh, not great. Got cleavered a bunch of times. But I appreciate you bringing me back and keeping me safe.
[00:30:08] Speaker F: Here, do you need uh. Here, take this and she'll hand you a elixir of life.
[00:30:14] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:30:14] Speaker E: Is there any way we can bring him back other than, what's the word?
[00:30:19] Speaker B: Resurrection magic?
[00:30:21] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:30:21] Speaker D: I mean, I don't think so. Yeah.
[00:30:24] Speaker B: Um, twin Talon, once he's done drinking this potion, is gonna want to search in because he saw him reach inside of himself and pull out the cleaver.
[00:30:33] Speaker F: Yeah, that's.
[00:30:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. So Twintalon is going to, you know, double check that he's dead. And if he feels that he is really dead, then he's gonna try to reach around inside of him and see if he can find any, anything.
[00:30:46] Speaker F: He's gonna give him a reach around.
[00:30:49] Speaker B: Yep, yep.
[00:30:51] Speaker D: So as you dig around inside, you can't find a small satchel.
[00:30:56] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:30:57] Speaker D: I'm assuming you open up the satchel.
[00:31:00] Speaker B: Once it's out of him. Yeah.
[00:31:02] Speaker D: In the satchel you see the face of the young man you were speaking to a goblin face.
A bugbear face. I knew it.
Another human face as well as a gnome face and a.
[00:31:29] Speaker C: No one cares about gnomes. Don't worry about it.
[00:31:33] Speaker D: And a halfling face.
[00:31:35] Speaker F: So does it need the faces to shape change? By the way, Matt, it's three d. Six plus six.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:31:41] Speaker C: I'm gonna go bottle some of it. Cause I told him I would.
[00:31:45] Speaker F: Ew.
[00:31:46] Speaker E: Wait a minute. Is this the guy from divinity? Original sin. What was his name that needs all the fame? Thank you.
[00:31:53] Speaker B: He needs to rip all the faces off of people to make his face mask.
[00:31:56] Speaker C: He was totally a good guy.
[00:31:58] Speaker F: Oh, man. I'm down to three unused batches, but I have tons of pre made.
[00:32:04] Speaker B: Yeah, he's got a satchel full of faces. That's 100% of what this guy owns.
[00:32:09] Speaker D: And a cleaver.
[00:32:11] Speaker F: Sorry. He's gonna surreptitiously shuffle the, uh, roll she has. It's just full of skin and bones.
[00:32:17] Speaker C: This is gonna sound a little weird, but maybe we should lay these faces out and see if it's anybody we recognize.
[00:32:24] Speaker B: That's not the worst idea. Also, I'm curious. Do these faces look like they were cut off somebody, like they used to be some. Oh, fuck.
Well, yeah.
[00:32:33] Speaker F: Yeah, I mean, I guess if we lay out the faces, do we recognize anybody?
[00:32:38] Speaker D: Um, Cheryl Breech.
[00:32:40] Speaker E: Hill lore.
[00:32:41] Speaker D: Yes, you may rule breach Hill lore.
[00:32:43] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:32:45] Speaker D: That is very good.
That's very good. Oh, you want information. Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:32:52] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:32:52] Speaker D: Okay, so the goblin looks like one of the goblin workers that has been repairing your citadel. No, no, the.
[00:33:05] Speaker C: Wait, it's not the hot half, right?
[00:33:08] Speaker D: No, it's not warble. I'm not that cruel. The halfling and the gnome do not look like they're from Breach Hill. The human face looks like one of the actual town guards. Okay, the teenager's face looks like one of the Wainwrights children. No, the bugbear face.
It looks like a bugbear face.
None that you. It's not Yoletta.
[00:33:39] Speaker B: Good. It's not the one bug bear we know.
[00:33:41] Speaker D: Yeah, right.
[00:33:42] Speaker C: So, question. Do we think that this direction that the bugbear was going in was just random trying to get out of town direction, or. I'm sorry, the.
I don't even know what this thing is called.
Or. Yeah, or was it trying to go somewhere in particular?
[00:34:00] Speaker B: What's in this direction?
[00:34:02] Speaker C: I don't know. I'm from the jungle, I guess.
[00:34:06] Speaker B: Sorry, I'm asking. Sean. Sean, what is in this direction? What do we know that is in this direction?
[00:34:12] Speaker D: It's just. It's out of town. It looks like you could probably figure out that it was just trying to get away, and it kept shape shifting to try and throw you guys off.
[00:34:21] Speaker F: The trail, so I just wanted to escape.
[00:34:24] Speaker D: Yeah, Bill?
[00:34:26] Speaker E: Well, that lead went cold, unfortunately.
[00:34:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
After he's done finding faces. Twin towns. Gonna spend ten minutes patching up Taysani.
[00:34:38] Speaker E: Brianna will help.
[00:34:40] Speaker C: I'm gonna take a nap in the.
[00:34:42] Speaker D: Goo of the faceless stalker.
[00:34:44] Speaker C: Oh, no, no. I put that in a bottle, and then I took the bottle and I climbed into the backpack to take a nap.
[00:34:49] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:34:50] Speaker E: No, please don't bring your nasty things in here.
[00:34:55] Speaker F: Sorry. We'll just kind of, like, sit. Let Jasper pick pack at the goo.
[00:35:00] Speaker D: Okay.
So it's getting on.
[00:35:05] Speaker B: What a day it's been. How long have we been back in town? Five days.
[00:35:09] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:35:12] Speaker E: And all this happened.
[00:35:14] Speaker B: I say that we. I don't know. I want to. I kind of want to tell these people their loved ones are not going to be back, but I also want to go back to the citadel and stop bleeding.
[00:35:26] Speaker F: It is still just past dawn, isn't it?
[00:35:29] Speaker D: No, it's.
[00:35:30] Speaker B: This is the 6th day. Like, we had five days of stuff happening, and this is the 6th day.
[00:35:34] Speaker F: Well, yeah, but didn't they tell us to meet at the Wainwright, like, at dawn, and that's when this was all happening?
[00:35:39] Speaker D: Oh, that's true. Yes.
[00:35:41] Speaker F: Hey, y'all. Those original citadel flashbacks. Arguing about time.
[00:35:47] Speaker E: Why don't we go back, patch up our wounds? These people will take what we have of them and keep it cold. I suppose. I don't know what to do with the faces, but. Point being, patch up our wounds, and then we'll tell that the loved ones will not be returning.
[00:36:06] Speaker C: Well, most of them won't.
[00:36:08] Speaker B: Other than their face.
[00:36:09] Speaker F: Yes. That's, um.
[00:36:11] Speaker D: Okay, it's about 930 in the morning at this point.
[00:36:16] Speaker F: You already want to go back to sleep.
[00:36:18] Speaker B: I just imagine the Monty python, like sun, like the seasons, like, the winding up and downs very quickly.
[00:36:24] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:36:26] Speaker B: Okay, so we're headed back to the citadel. Is that the plan? The immediate plan, anyway.
[00:36:30] Speaker F: The immediate plan? Yeah.
[00:36:32] Speaker B: Well, I mean, one of the goblin workers was one of the faces, right? So we could ask Yelecha if she. We could ask the goblins, too, if they knew who the bug bear was.
[00:36:40] Speaker F: True.
[00:36:41] Speaker B: But, yeah. I would like to go back to the citadel and take however many ten minute periods it is to heal myself and my pterodactyl. I think Brianna's hurt.
[00:36:52] Speaker D: Yeah. You guys are not doing. Not doing great, actually.
[00:36:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, that's the kind of thing that happens when you start a fight unexpectedly. So you're already kind of beat up. You didn't really set yourself up for success, as it were.
[00:37:07] Speaker D: So you all head back to the. You said the citadel?
[00:37:13] Speaker B: Yes, Citadel. Al terrain.
[00:37:15] Speaker D: You guys head back to the citadel. You heal up over the course of a couple of hours of healing circles.
Yeah, healing circles.
[00:37:25] Speaker B: Everybody healed to the left. Not everybody healed to the right.
[00:37:28] Speaker D: Twin Talon, you're gonna lose the wounded condition.
[00:37:31] Speaker F: Saraya's tried and true method of stay out of melee range has served her well. She's only done, like, eight hit points.
[00:37:37] Speaker D: Twin Talon and Brianna were not so, so well again.
[00:37:41] Speaker F: See, her plan of stay out of.
[00:37:42] Speaker D: Melee range, 11:00 comes around and you guys are fully healed. Everyone is healthy ish. Maybe a little mentally traumatized, but other than that, you know. What are you guys doing?
[00:37:58] Speaker B: I guess make of the rounds of the citadel, seeing who we should ask about the worker. I guess we'll talk to warble.
[00:38:03] Speaker E: Yeah, it would be warble, I guess.
[00:38:06] Speaker B: About the goblin worker that we found, that we know that they are dead. We don't know where their body is.
[00:38:12] Speaker D: Uh, yes, we have been missing a. A worker. We thought he just, you know, didn't want to come to work anymore, so we didn't really think anything of it. Um, why?
[00:38:25] Speaker B: Unfortunately, a faceless stalker, a gruesome creature that can apparently take the form of its victims if it collects their face, has infiltrated breach hell. Or it had infiltrated breach hell. We, uh, we have killed it, but unfortunately, upon doing so, we found a. A host of victims or evidence of of several victims that, uh, that had fallen prey to it, one of which being one of the goblins we remembered seeing around the citadel. So we would hope to bring.
[00:39:00] Speaker D: Are there more?
[00:39:02] Speaker B: There are. There's a halfling and gnome, a human. Don't remember being a guard back in town. There was a.
[00:39:09] Speaker D: No, no, no. I mean, are there more faceless stalkers here?
It's very disconcerting.
[00:39:14] Speaker F: We don't believe so, but there are. We aren't sure.
[00:39:19] Speaker D: Yes. Um. Okay.
Um. We'll keep working, I guess.
[00:39:25] Speaker B: Just keep vigilant for anyone who seems to be acting oddly or out of character. Maybe try to institute something where, you know, people always go places in pairs. Like institute a buddy system, something like that.
[00:39:39] Speaker C: I've got some of it in a jar if you want to smell it. Maybe that would help. I don't know.
[00:39:44] Speaker D: Oh, okay. And she saddles up very close to knife sword here.
[00:39:57] Speaker A: Repulsive.
[00:39:59] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm gonna make a perfume out of it.
[00:40:01] Speaker D: Ooh. Let me know when you have some to test out.
[00:40:06] Speaker E: Do we need to leave you two alone?
[00:40:08] Speaker C: What?
[00:40:08] Speaker D: No. I am going about my work.
[00:40:10] Speaker B: I can't tell if this is my favorite or my least favorite part of this story.
[00:40:15] Speaker D: I know.
[00:40:18] Speaker E: Definitely my favorite.
[00:40:20] Speaker C: Hey, since we got a minute, is there a library here in this here building?
[00:40:26] Speaker B: Funny you should ask. No, but there could be.
[00:40:30] Speaker C: Damn.
[00:40:31] Speaker B: If we bought some books and filled it. There's a spot for one.
[00:40:36] Speaker F: Next word. Why do you want a library?
[00:40:39] Speaker C: I got some ideas I need to do some research on.
[00:40:43] Speaker E: I mean, there is a library in town. I do believe there's the relic.
[00:40:47] Speaker F: The bookstore?
[00:40:49] Speaker B: You mean the one where Vaz worked?
[00:40:50] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:40:51] Speaker F: Yes, the reliant book company.
[00:40:53] Speaker C: Second question. How many of you can read?
[00:40:57] Speaker F: There it is. There it is.
[00:41:04] Speaker B: Why do you ask?
[00:41:05] Speaker C: No reason.
[00:41:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:41:09] Speaker E: All right, well, we let warble know about the missing person. Let's move on to yoletja.
[00:41:17] Speaker B: We can ask warble about the bugbear, too, I suppose. I mean, it's not like Yelecha's. It's not like all bugbears know each other.
[00:41:24] Speaker E: They all should know each other, right?
[00:41:26] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:41:26] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:41:28] Speaker C: Oh, uh, just as an aside, um, while you guys are doing that, I'm gonna go try to find this library you spoke of. If it's the middle of the day, not the middle of the night, it's.
[00:41:39] Speaker D: Number 13 on the map. It's the reliant book company.
[00:41:42] Speaker C: Okay. And I just. I'm interested in finding things about enchanting objects, so that's all.
[00:41:48] Speaker D: Okay. Christine, what is Saraya doing for the rest of the day or for the next couple of hours?
[00:41:55] Speaker F: Um, I don't know. I guess she's probably just trying to make sure that nothing else is.
[00:42:02] Speaker D: Is funky at the Citadel or at. In the town or where in the town.
[00:42:08] Speaker F: I think she's probably just kind of, like, going around and making sure nobody's, like, acting off and, you know, anything like that. She's definitely not the one to go talk to the Wainwright, because she's more than a little detached, and that's probably not the best idea.
[00:42:26] Speaker D: All right, give me a. Give me a diplomacy check, please.
Actually, I'll get. I'll do it. It's fine. Don't worry about it.
Shh.
Um, hiya. What is Brianna doing?
[00:42:42] Speaker E: I was gonna continue talking to warble about the bugbear and seeing what information we can glean from that, or at least give her the news.
[00:42:53] Speaker D: Okay. All right.
[00:42:55] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:42:56] Speaker E: So not only did we encounter your. The worker, there was also a bugbear. I know we have Yoreca in our residence, but do you know of any others in town?
[00:43:13] Speaker D: No, not in town.
Jeletscha used to have some friends, but they left a long time ago.
[00:43:22] Speaker E: Okay. I guess we talked to yolecha then. Hopefully this is not a friend.
[00:43:28] Speaker D: Okay. All right. And twintalon?
[00:43:32] Speaker B: Um, if twintalon and Tasani and Brianna are all patched up. Yeah. I mean, twintallon will probably accompany Brianna on her quest to tell the loved ones that their, uh. Their people are not going to be returning.
[00:43:47] Speaker D: Okay.
So you guys had to speak to Yoleta in her tent.
[00:43:56] Speaker B: Hi, yeleche. I know the twintelle and yeleche were friendly.
[00:44:01] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:44:01] Speaker B: How are you settling in since. Since the change in citadel ownership here and the new renovations, everything seems to.
[00:44:12] Speaker D: Be really nice now. I appreciate it.
[00:44:16] Speaker B: Good. And have you. I'm trying to remember. I think twintalon had talked to her about possibly working as a guard here or being a guard here.
[00:44:27] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:44:27] Speaker B: And I don't remember if she was like, I gotta think about it, or. No, thank you. I forget what she said.
[00:44:32] Speaker D: I don't remember either. I'm sure someone will tell us when I get this wrong, but I'll say she had to think about it and.
[00:44:41] Speaker E: Yeah, I think that is correct. She said she would think about it.
[00:44:44] Speaker B: Okay. Have you had some time. We've been gone for a couple weeks. Have you had some time to think about our offer of being a guard here at the citadel?
[00:44:53] Speaker D: Uh, yes, I think it would be.
I've come to really enjoy the. The goblins here, so. Sure. I could do that.
[00:45:06] Speaker B: Fantastic. Now, I don't mean to put too much upon you upon one time, but I think. And he'll kind of look at Brianna for confirmation. I think you're our first.
[00:45:18] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:45:18] Speaker B: As far as a guard.
[00:45:20] Speaker D: And does that make me the leader?
[00:45:23] Speaker B: Well, the captain. I was gonna actually suggest that. That being the captain of the guard does bear some additional responsibility. Making sure the others are doing what they're supposed to be doing, you know, and keeping everybody on task. You seem to be capable of doing that. Is that something that you would be interested in?
[00:45:42] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:45:43] Speaker B: Okay. Well, I'd want to just double check with Saraya, since technically, I believe she owns the citadel, but I would like to preemptively offer that to you, and I'll come back to just to make sure it's okay, but I don't see it being an issue. And I personally, and I'm sure Brianne as well, would be very proud to have you as our captain of the guard.
[00:46:09] Speaker E: Absolutely. Very proud.
[00:46:11] Speaker D: Thank you.
That's wonderful.
[00:46:15] Speaker B: So there is one more matter we'd like to address.
One that is less pleasant.
We recently discovered that there was a creature that had infiltrated breed chill and had actually made its way into the citadel. It was a creature that could change its shape and it could take the form of its victims.
One of the things that it needed to do that, however, was its victim's face, which is pretty gruesome. However, after we have. After we defeated it, we found in its possession a number of faces, one of which was a bugbear. We asked werrible, and she said that you had some other bugbear friends that had been in the area, but had since moved on. Would you. Would you be willing to look at the face to see if it's somebody you recognize?
[00:47:07] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:47:07] Speaker B: Okay, so he'll pull the face out of the bag of faces.
Oh, God.
[00:47:14] Speaker C: What is that?
[00:47:14] Speaker D: No kidding.
[00:47:15] Speaker B: Just trying to brace her a little bit here. I'll just whip it out like, you know. This guy.
[00:47:22] Speaker E: Familiar to you?
[00:47:22] Speaker C: No?
[00:47:23] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:47:25] Speaker D: I do not know who that is.
It seems to be judging a man of bugbear descent, but that's all I can tell you.
[00:47:39] Speaker B: Okay, well, I mean, on the bright side, at least it wasn't one of your friends, so it's unfortunate. Whoever it is. We'll keep looking for reports of a missing bugbear, but if you hear anything, let us know.
[00:47:53] Speaker D: Yes, yes, I will.
[00:47:54] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll have to figure out uniforms, too.
Guards have uniforms, right?
[00:47:59] Speaker E: Normally.
[00:48:00] Speaker B: Okay, well, we'll figure it out.
[00:48:02] Speaker D: All right, so let's cut over to Saraya.
So, as you're checking around town, everything seems to be normal. A little bit of news about the. The murders in the prison have gotten out, and people are a little nervous about that and concerned, and rumors are starting to run amok.
Some of the rumors?
Yes, some of the rumors that you hear, Saraya, are, you know, doppelgangers, faceless stalkers. Those are some of the thoughts that are running about. Some of the other interesting ones that you hear are that an invasion from those pesky portals.
You hear that a rival town is trying to take over this lovely sleepy town of Breech Hill, that this is just the start of group trying to enslave everyone. And if they can't capture people, they just kill them.
People are starting to question Greta's leadership ability.
[00:49:16] Speaker B: Sounds like the faceless stalker was doing its work.
[00:49:19] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:49:20] Speaker F: Where. Where she goes, she'll definitely quash the rumors, you know, kind of confirm what it was and that it's been dealt with. I assume most of our party is fairly well known around town now after everything.
[00:49:34] Speaker D: Yes, yes. Yeah, but the. The number one question that keeps getting raised is. But what if there's more? Are you one?
[00:49:43] Speaker F: That's exactly what she's trying to find a way to, like, tamp down on that. On, like, the paranoia that's gonna come with it.
[00:49:50] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:49:51] Speaker F: Is there, like, does she have any of my previous roles, like, given us, like, a surefire way to identify one?
[00:49:57] Speaker D: No, and that's the biggest problem with faceless stalkers, is there's really no way, unless you catch one feeding on blood. There's really no way. Knife, sword. Yeah, you had to.
[00:50:10] Speaker C: I totally heard it was an invasion of people that are snatching bodies.
Yep. And, yeah, I don't know that credit person. You know, she's gonna step up and do more. That's all I'm saying.
[00:50:24] Speaker D: You head. Head to the breach hill archives.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:50:28] Speaker D: And you walk in. These are contain historical accounts of the settlement. There's not really much in here about enchanting things.
A half orc librarian comes up to you.
Hello.
How can I help you?
[00:50:53] Speaker C: Hiya.
Um, I'm interested in learning more about how to view items with certain abilities, um, starting with a minor cantrip. We'll call it on about five items.
[00:51:08] Speaker D: Uh, I mainly deal with the history of the town here, uh, but, uh, could you explain some more?
[00:51:21] Speaker C: Well, my friends and I get into a little trouble now and then.
I've noticed that, well, I have an ability that could stop us from getting into a lot of trouble, but the problem is, I'm never in a position to use it, and everyone else has to take time out of fighting the bad guy to take care of somebody. So what I was thinking was, if I could make an object that we could all wear that would have some kind of, I don't know, contingency. If something were to happen, then the effect would go off.
[00:51:53] Speaker D: Oh, that seems very advanced. Um, I will do some research to see what I can find.
[00:52:02] Speaker C: The other thing I'm looking at is I'd like to add some extra dimensional space to a backpack.
[00:52:08] Speaker D: Oh. Um, does it need air?
[00:52:12] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:52:14] Speaker D: Oh, that makes it very difficult. Uh, I can do some more research and see what I can find.
[00:52:23] Speaker C: Okay, you let me know what you find, and I'll see if I pick up anything on the road. And, um, I think I still have. We still have money, right?
[00:52:33] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:52:34] Speaker C: I'm gonna give him, like, five gold pieces. Would that be?
[00:52:39] Speaker B: That's a lot of money.
[00:52:40] Speaker D: That's a lot of money. So in second edition, I don't know if you know this, but second edition runs off of east silver system.
[00:52:47] Speaker C: Okay. But I have. I have no concept of wealth, so.
[00:52:51] Speaker D: Okay, there you go. Oh, no.
[00:52:53] Speaker E: Armani.
[00:52:54] Speaker D: So five gold gets removed from the group loot as knife sword is being a man about town.
[00:53:06] Speaker B: It's been something.
[00:53:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:53:08] Speaker C: Anyway, next time I'm in town, I'll come back and check in.
[00:53:11] Speaker D: Oh, thank you. That sounds great.
[00:53:15] Speaker C: All right, thanks, Ren. Oh, wait, what's your name?
[00:53:19] Speaker D: My name is Joral Black Tusk.
[00:53:22] Speaker C: Ah, nice to meet you, Jor El. I'm, uh, knife sword.
Uh, Johnson. Yeah, knife sword Johnson. Nice to meet you.
[00:53:32] Speaker D: Nice. Nice to meet you, mister Johnson.
[00:53:36] Speaker C: What is happening without him?
With that, I'm gonna leave, do a flourish and leave and head back towards where everybody else is.
[00:53:46] Speaker D: Okay, so around 02:00 you all meet back up and, yeah, you guys can decide what you want to do.
[00:53:56] Speaker E: What did you learn while you were out in the library?
[00:54:00] Speaker C: It's gonna take a while for stuff.
[00:54:04] Speaker E: Okay, Brianna, we'll make a mental note to keep an eye on him.
What. What next, guys?
[00:54:12] Speaker B: So I guess the next thing to do would be to. There were a couple people in town whose faces you recognized.
[00:54:18] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:54:19] Speaker B: To go visit those people like the Wainwright's child. Yeah.
[00:54:25] Speaker D: All right, well, I will let you all think about how you're going to break this lovely news to them for a week with balloons and, uh. Yeah, okay.
[00:54:39] Speaker E: That's. That's a sour way.
[00:54:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:41] Speaker B: Thanks, Sean.
[00:54:42] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:54:44] Speaker C: But if you say it in a cheery voice, it won't be so sad. So we're just gonna go let them know that their child is missing. Yay.
[00:54:50] Speaker B: Oh, no, he's not missing. He dead.
