[00:00:43] Speaker A: Of the Cracked Die podcast. My name is Matt. I play twin Talon on the show, and I just want to say thank you to everyone who made the 5000th download possible. That's right. This week we hit 5000 downloads. That's thanks to you and people like you who are listening to this podcast. So thank you. So we have some other stuff coming up, but I can't really talk about it right now. It's not that it's super hush hush and secret. It's that I'm not allowed to. I've been told not to. So I'm just going to vaguely allude to it. Next week, there's going to be an announcement, there will be something else going on in may sometime, and then an additional thing which is happening in August. So, with no substance to talk about, I'm just going to send us to the episode, episode 24. Who's laughing now? [00:01:36] Speaker B: Welcome, Keefer Sutherland to the 24 podcast. [00:01:41] Speaker C: Right? [00:01:41] Speaker B: Isn't that what we're doing? [00:01:44] Speaker C: God, I hope not. [00:01:47] Speaker D: How well did you prepare for a 24 podcast? [00:01:49] Speaker C: I have the wrong book in front of me. Where's the bum? This is the 24th episode of the Cracked Die podcast. I did this joke already. [00:01:59] Speaker A: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:02] Speaker E: All heroes got more information about the villain vain. After speaking with Roxy Den at the pickled ear, all heroes were able to make their way to the Guardian's way. Once they arrived there, they were met with a deep, booming voice. What will our heroes do? Will they be able to talk their way out of this? Find out now on the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:30] Speaker C: Diplomacy or deception? Your choice. [00:02:32] Speaker F: Actually, he was lying. [00:02:33] Speaker C: He was lying? Yeah. So what is your deception bonus? [00:02:36] Speaker G: Plus nine. [00:02:38] Speaker C: How many hero points do you want to spend on this role? [00:02:42] Speaker G: I have two. I think this is an important role, so I will spend one of my hero points. [00:02:51] Speaker C: All right, put that back on the table. There we go. Boom. [00:02:55] Speaker G: Cashed my chip in. [00:02:58] Speaker C: Plus eight, right? That's what you said? [00:03:01] Speaker G: Yeah, it's a plus eight. [00:03:05] Speaker D: All right, how do hero points work again? [00:03:09] Speaker C: I forget it's a plus. [00:03:15] Speaker F: Page 467 of the core rulebook hero points. Spend one hero point. To reroll a check, you must use a second result or spend all your hero points to avoid death. [00:03:27] Speaker C: So I rolled. The first roll was a five, and then I rerolled and you have to take the second roll. So I'm going to use the second roll. Well, I guess. [00:03:38] Speaker G: Hold on. [00:03:39] Speaker C: And you hear the gruff voice yell down, Marcel, get out of those trees. You see Marcel and Marceau, the two on the left. Come out from hiding in the trees on the platform on the right. And then you see two more half orc humanoids come out of the trees on the left. And you hear them say, damiri, come out and talk to this guy. There's only one person, right? Yeah, only me is everyone else is hidden. [00:04:15] Speaker F: Or I'm, like, right next to him, but I'm hiding. [00:04:17] Speaker D: Yeah, you're dripping under the platform. [00:04:20] Speaker H: I'm not hiding. [00:04:22] Speaker C: You're in the trees. [00:04:24] Speaker H: Sure. [00:04:24] Speaker C: Yeah. So from out of the building behind you comes a female hobgoblin. What do you want? [00:04:33] Speaker G: Well, my name is Silver. I'm a bard. Not from around these parts. I was me and my traveling companions, who are just. Last time I checked, though, you know, you can't help with these youngsters. They were just over yonder. We were looking for one place to rest our heads for a bit. We're just passing through. Meant me no harm. Nothing like that. [00:05:06] Speaker C: Well, then leave me and my men to our business and get out of here. [00:05:15] Speaker G: All right. I don't mean no trouble or nothing like that. We were just passing through. May I ask what your business is? [00:05:30] Speaker C: No, you can't ask. [00:05:33] Speaker D: This person's on ground level? [00:05:35] Speaker C: Yes, she came out from the house. [00:05:37] Speaker D: So does she see Pond watcher, like, directly ahead of her? I mean, he is stealthing, right? Maybe not. But she makes no indication that she sees any of us. [00:05:47] Speaker C: Nope. No indication that she sees any of you. I'm very stealthy. That's good. [00:05:54] Speaker B: There's also a tree right there, too. [00:05:55] Speaker C: Maybe he's hiding behind pretty well for you guys. [00:05:57] Speaker G: All right, well. [00:06:03] Speaker C: Between Temid and Brianna, who is. You're both from Breech Hill, right? Yes. [00:06:13] Speaker B: Not really. [00:06:14] Speaker C: Okay, so, Brianna, I need you to make a society. Actually, what is your society bonus? [00:06:21] Speaker H: Would it be Breach Hill? [00:06:23] Speaker C: No. No, but it's society. [00:06:27] Speaker H: Okay. It's a flat roll, zero. [00:06:30] Speaker C: You recognized the people on the platforms and the Hobbit goblin that came out of there as members of the bloody Blades mercenary group. And you know that there are bounties on all of their heads if brought in alive. You know that the bloody blades are a regional small time mercenary band known for taking part in highway robbery and other disreputable endeavors. [00:06:59] Speaker H: Who can see Brianna? At this point, only temed. [00:07:02] Speaker B: Temad can definitely see her. [00:07:05] Speaker D: Silver's on that side. [00:07:06] Speaker G: I might be able to see them out of my corner of my eye, but I wouldn't make overtures that I know they're there. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Yeah, right. [00:07:15] Speaker G: I'm still talking to her? [00:07:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:07:18] Speaker G: I'll be saying, like, I'll be just upon my way. Now, bard sort of got a code that if anyone requests a song or performance of me, I'd be obliged to perform. If you would like me to entertain. [00:07:31] Speaker C: Your men, I would like for you to leave now. [00:07:35] Speaker G: All right. [00:07:38] Speaker C: That'S all good and well with me, actually. You're trying to make an impression, right? [00:07:42] Speaker G: I am. [00:07:43] Speaker C: Let's go ahead and roll. Make an impression, because that's a thing we can do now. Okay. What is it? Diplomacy. It is diplomacy. [00:07:51] Speaker G: Okay, do I roll? [00:07:53] Speaker C: I'm going to let you roll. [00:07:54] Speaker G: Okay. This is going to be a clutch roll, hopefully. Okay. Not too bad. [00:08:00] Speaker C: Okay, 24, I guess one song very quickly, then leave. [00:08:10] Speaker G: Okay, so I have my new instrument. [00:08:14] Speaker C: Brianna, you know that each one brought back alive is worth ten gold and the leader is worth 50 gold if brought back alive. [00:08:25] Speaker B: I don't know how to convey murder. [00:08:27] Speaker C: No, alive, alive. [00:08:28] Speaker B: Let's not commit some murder. [00:08:30] Speaker C: Only Brianna knows this. [00:08:32] Speaker G: I got to look something up on. All right, spell here. [00:08:36] Speaker F: Pond Watcher is like right on the other side of a tree. [00:08:38] Speaker C: Like, oh, God, what do to. While you're looking that up, I'm going to look at Pond Watcher and twin Talon. What are you guys doing? They have not made any movement towards you. As if they don't even see you. [00:08:53] Speaker D: But we can see them, right? [00:08:54] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. They're up above the trees. They were hiding and now they're not. [00:08:58] Speaker D: If it looks like they are looking at Silver and he is keeping their attention, twin Talon. I don't know if he can see pond watcher. [00:09:07] Speaker C: Barely. [00:09:08] Speaker D: Twin Talon's going to motion to himself and then he's going to motion to the house. [00:09:12] Speaker C: Okay. [00:09:13] Speaker D: And then he's going to start creeping around the back. [00:09:14] Speaker C: All right. Temid, what are you doing? Well, this is all while Silver's talking. [00:09:21] Speaker B: Too, so temid's not very good at thievery. Stealth. He's got a plus two. I don't think it would serve well for him to do that. So I just think he's going to maybe hold back for a sec. [00:09:31] Speaker C: All right, Brianna, you rush it. No, I'm kidding. [00:09:35] Speaker H: Brianna is going to try and catch Temed's attention, to relay the information as best she can to see if he can pass it on to get the. [00:09:45] Speaker C: Idea that I feel like in the new version there's like, understand meaning. [00:09:54] Speaker D: Is it deception or diplomacy? No, it's not deception. [00:09:58] Speaker F: It used to be part of bluff, right? [00:10:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:10:01] Speaker G: I was looking up how charm spell works because my guitar is doing that. Yeah, she has to make a roll. Okay. And the DC is 19, and it's. [00:10:10] Speaker C: A will save, will save. All right. [00:10:13] Speaker G: There's a list of effects. If she critically fails or critically succeeds or whatever. 1919. [00:10:22] Speaker C: All right, well, we're trying to figure out how to pass information along. Nothing. Okay. Then I'm going to say, you understand what she's trying to get across to you. You get the gist that these people should be captured alive. You don't know why. [00:10:39] Speaker B: What took the place of linguistic? [00:10:41] Speaker G: I don't think there is anything. [00:10:42] Speaker C: No. [00:10:43] Speaker D: Unless it's part of perception, because I can't. [00:10:46] Speaker H: Right. [00:10:46] Speaker D: So the app I have is hero builder, which is excellent if you have an Android platform. I jumped at the chance to get rid of the ads and give them money because I used it to build, like, five characters in 20 minutes. And it was great, but it doesn't let me. All of the skills, I can touch them and it'll tell me what are the uses of them. But perception, for whatever reason, does not have that functionality. [00:11:07] Speaker B: So heroab has something. Your perception measures your ability to notice things, search for what's hidden, and tell you whether something about a situation is off notice. I don't know. It doesn't necessarily mean interpret to me. It just means that I can see that she was trying to tell me something. As far as interpreting it, that's kind of rough. [00:11:28] Speaker G: I don't know, Sean, not to give you more work, but because I have a skill feat called fascinating performance, anyone who's watching me also has to roll to see if they become fascinated with me because we're not in combat. [00:11:42] Speaker D: That's right. So they would have to stare at him. [00:11:44] Speaker G: Well, I'm playing it for them. [00:11:46] Speaker D: That's what fascinate does. [00:11:47] Speaker G: It makes you. [00:11:48] Speaker D: Makes them force you. If they fail, they have to look at you. [00:11:50] Speaker G: Yes. Which, if things go south, pretty bit. Good for all of us if I'm the one they're paying attention to. [00:11:56] Speaker C: Right. [00:11:57] Speaker D: It's much, much easier for the rest of us to sneak around if they can't. [00:12:00] Speaker C: It is now an uncommon general skill feat called secret speech. [00:12:07] Speaker D: Okay, that's very second edition. [00:12:10] Speaker B: It's a feat. [00:12:10] Speaker D: You said a lot of things are feats now. [00:12:12] Speaker B: Oh, okay. So we can't do that. [00:12:14] Speaker C: And it is actually from the second book of this adventure path. [00:12:19] Speaker G: Interesting. [00:12:21] Speaker D: So it wasn't even in the core rulebook. [00:12:24] Speaker C: Pathfinder 147. Tomorrow must burn. Page 73. [00:12:27] Speaker D: Interesting. [00:12:28] Speaker B: Tomorrow must burn. [00:12:31] Speaker H: So since I can't do that, can I do a different action. [00:12:34] Speaker C: Sure. [00:12:34] Speaker I: Cool. [00:12:36] Speaker H: Brianna will recall her days of stealthing in Corvosa before she became big and gangly. Or big and bulky, rather. And we'll also try and stealth ahead to the house. [00:12:46] Speaker C: All right, what's your bonus? [00:12:48] Speaker H: One. [00:12:50] Speaker C: Oh, boy. All right. Where are you moving to? [00:12:54] Speaker H: Probably the opposite of twin Talon. [00:13:03] Speaker C: All right, so everything seems to be okay. All right, so silver is playing his song. Do they all? Everyone in this room? [00:13:13] Speaker G: Everyone that I'm playing it for. [00:13:15] Speaker C: Oh, so you're targeting. [00:13:16] Speaker G: The charm is on her. The fascinating is just a general thing. [00:13:19] Speaker C: Okay, so everyone else needs to make a 19 level. Sorry. A DC 19 wheel safe. Yes. [00:13:27] Speaker F: Do I have to do that? Because I'm like right next to him. [00:13:29] Speaker G: No, I don't think so. [00:13:31] Speaker C: So your party doesn't have to do it. [00:13:33] Speaker G: He's not looking at me. [00:13:34] Speaker C: Oh. Anyone looking at silver? [00:13:36] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:13:36] Speaker D: So fascinating performance. When you perform, compare your result to the will DC of one observer. If you succeed, the target is fascinated by you for one round. If the observer is in a situation that demands immediate attention, such as combat, you must critically succeed to fascinate it and perform. Action gains the incapacitation trait. You must choose which creature you're trying to fascinate before you roll your check. And the target then temporarily is immune for 1 hour. If you're an expert in performance, you can fascinate up to four observers. If you are a master, you can. [00:14:04] Speaker G: Fascinate up to ten. [00:14:05] Speaker D: And if you're a legendary, you can fascinate any number at the same time. [00:14:09] Speaker G: Okay, so I can do four. [00:14:10] Speaker C: Okay. [00:14:14] Speaker G: I'm a bard. [00:14:16] Speaker C: So what happens if I fail? [00:14:19] Speaker G: The fail. The fascination or the charm? [00:14:22] Speaker C: Whatever the role, the first roll. So the charm. [00:14:24] Speaker G: The charm. What did you roll? Because there's a critical failure. [00:14:27] Speaker C: So what happens with the regular fail? [00:14:29] Speaker G: Regular fail, the target's attitude becomes friendly towards you. If it was friendly, it becomes helpful. And it can't use hostile actions against you. [00:14:38] Speaker C: So let's pretend I roll the natural one. What would a critical fail happen? [00:14:43] Speaker G: The target's attitude becomes helpful towards you. It can't use hostile actions against you. [00:14:48] Speaker C: All right, well, I roll the one. Sorrow. She is helpful. Helpful. Okay, that worked out pretty well. [00:14:58] Speaker G: Yes. I'm singing some things, though. A very body like soldier song. [00:15:05] Speaker C: As you're singing, you see this hobgoblin's face kind of like light up. I remember this when we were slaughtering humans in the fields. This brings back you know what? Come on in. Come on in. And she invites you into the house. [00:15:23] Speaker F: Behind where the two people are about to sneak in? [00:15:28] Speaker C: Yep. [00:15:29] Speaker G: I guess I'll go. [00:15:30] Speaker C: She's distracted and I'm distracting her. You and Damiri walk in and we'll pause with you. [00:15:38] Speaker F: Did they make it into the house before this happened? [00:15:41] Speaker C: Are you guys trying to get into the house? [00:15:42] Speaker D: I was trying to get around the back of it because it seems like if I was back there, I could be pressed up against the house and hidden from everything. [00:15:49] Speaker C: Yeah. So as you maneuver around, you notice that there are no windows on this building. However, there are cracks in the wood where you can put an eye up to or put an ear up to and hear and see what's going on inside. [00:16:05] Speaker G: Okay. [00:16:05] Speaker D: Well, my first and foremost is to get around the backside. [00:16:08] Speaker C: Yep, you're there. [00:16:09] Speaker D: Once I get around the will, I will peer inside. [00:16:11] Speaker C: All right, so Brianna and twin Talon are there. Temid and pond watcher, you guys are. [00:16:18] Speaker F: Waiting behind those trees. [00:16:19] Speaker C: You're just hiding still. You're both hiding. [00:16:21] Speaker F: I don't know what to do. I'm just standing there. [00:16:23] Speaker C: Well, you're not really hiding, temid. They just haven't seen you. [00:16:25] Speaker B: Yeah, I would like to actually. Then kind of. So he's near a tree to the right of him or to the forward a little bit and to the right. So I guess I'll need to roll a stealth in order to get up against it. [00:16:42] Speaker C: Yes. What's your stealth bonus? [00:16:43] Speaker B: Plus two. I'm sorry. Seven. Oh, crap. I'm looking at thievery. Stealth is its own skill. [00:16:50] Speaker C: Yes. All right, man. So you press yourself up against the tree. You think you're fine. [00:16:55] Speaker B: Okay. And he kind of looks at pond watcher and kind of shrugs a little bit, like, I don't know what to do in this situation. [00:17:01] Speaker C: I don't know what to do. What the hell is going on? So silver. This old log cabin has a gently sloped, shingled roof and a single door set in its western face. There are no windows in the wall, which are crusted with patches of moss. Inside, you see a single table with four chairs and a curtain cornering off what you could only guess is a bedroom. So have a seat, my friend. Have a seat. [00:17:34] Speaker G: All right, I'll just pop up here. I got some drinky drink. [00:17:39] Speaker C: Excellent. [00:17:40] Speaker G: Excellent. [00:17:41] Speaker C: Don't waste yours. And she reaches under the table and pulls out two bottles of viscous, thick, viscosy. You hope it's ale. You hope it looks like it was brewed in a toilet. [00:17:59] Speaker G: I am your guest. [00:18:00] Speaker C: And it is a pungent mushroomy. Odor that comes from it. [00:18:07] Speaker G: So, as you are a guest and taken of your hospitality, I would like to offer you my finest wine for us to share. [00:18:15] Speaker C: No, my friend, I insist. And she grabs a bottle and takes a big old swig out of it, and she hands the bottle right to you. [00:18:25] Speaker F: Okay. [00:18:25] Speaker C: As a single strain of spit leads from her mouth to the top of the bottle. [00:18:32] Speaker G: That doesn't gross me out too much. I don't want to be poisoned by drinking this. Come on. So I guess silver will do the whole, like, put his thumb over the thing and then act like he's drinking it. [00:18:45] Speaker C: Okay. [00:18:46] Speaker G: Type thing. [00:18:47] Speaker B: I feel like that's like a deception. [00:18:50] Speaker C: Deception? [00:18:52] Speaker G: What's your deception? [00:18:53] Speaker C: Bonus? [00:18:54] Speaker G: It's a plus nine. [00:18:57] Speaker C: She looks at you funny, it's like. [00:19:01] Speaker G: All right, let me be honest with you. I love to drink, but have a sip. I'll sit down. Okay. What's my fortitude? Save. Okay, I'll take a sip of it. [00:19:20] Speaker C: All right. It's vile. It tastes like. It smells and looks. It tastes like green or black mold. You know when you find black mold and then mushrooms and then you drink it? Yeah. We all mushroom juice. Juice. [00:19:40] Speaker D: No one knows what you're talking about. [00:19:42] Speaker C: And then, like, you know when you. [00:19:43] Speaker F: Find black mold mushroom juice and you. [00:19:46] Speaker G: Drink it like that? Yeah, I'm picturing. [00:19:51] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:52] Speaker G: Okay. [00:19:52] Speaker C: And then, like, milk that's been left out for two days, so there's a little bit of chunks in it. [00:19:58] Speaker B: All right, so that's enough of that description. [00:20:01] Speaker C: You managed to stomach it? Barely. Wow, that's some potent stuff. It's great, isn't it? I have a bottle if you would like to take it with you. You know what? [00:20:11] Speaker G: Actually, I will. I will take it and take it with you. [00:20:17] Speaker C: How did a lovely voiced bard make his way out to this area? It's so remote. We've tried to stay away from people and do our job, but you found us. [00:20:34] Speaker G: Well, I like you. I'm going to be real honest with you. I'm traveling between towns, me and my companions, and I don't know where the hell they are, those lazy bums getting into nonsense, I'm sure. But somebody that we knew back in the last town we were in did us wrong. What's the woman's name? Vase. Vase. She owed us some money, this lady. Vase. So we're hoping if anybody knew anything about this vase. She's an elf. Yeah. This elf lady, she had did us wrong. We just want to. [00:21:15] Speaker C: No. [00:21:15] Speaker G: Yeah, it's true. She didn't pay us. [00:21:20] Speaker C: I couldn't imagine. Yeah, but you are in luck. [00:21:25] Speaker G: Oh, luck, you say? [00:21:28] Speaker C: Vase paid us to watch guard over the cave behind us. [00:21:33] Speaker G: You're joking. [00:21:34] Speaker C: I'm not joking. She's in there now. She's in here right now. She's in the cave behind us. [00:21:41] Speaker G: Very loudly. If he were drunk. But he's just shouting it. [00:21:44] Speaker C: Vase is in the cave right over there. [00:21:48] Speaker G: Right now. [00:21:49] Speaker C: Damn it. We have to rescue silver for killing him? Yes. [00:21:53] Speaker B: We got to go. [00:21:55] Speaker F: He's screaming about vase. [00:21:57] Speaker C: He's delirious. [00:21:58] Speaker G: You're saying that if I and my friends who are lazy bums went into that cave back there, we could get involved right now? [00:22:09] Speaker C: Yeah, but of course we'd have to stop you. [00:22:14] Speaker G: Oh, right. Of course. [00:22:16] Speaker C: She paid us a lot of gold to guard people from going in there. We couldn't let you go in. But it's amazing luck. [00:22:25] Speaker G: It is amazing. Can I ask you a question? [00:22:27] Speaker C: Sure. [00:22:27] Speaker G: How much does she pay you? [00:22:28] Speaker C: 15 gold a person. [00:22:29] Speaker G: 15 gold a person. [00:22:32] Speaker C: All right. [00:22:35] Speaker G: That's a good portion of money. I will respect that. When you see her, it's 105 gold total. [00:22:42] Speaker C: That's how many people there are. [00:22:45] Speaker G: That's good to know. Well, all right. Well, I'm not going to be messing with your business. She may have messed with my business, but I'm not going to mess with yours. So I'll be very kind and we'll have our drink and I'll just know better to get the money up front next time. [00:23:01] Speaker C: Yeah, absolutely. You and your friends may want to stay away from here because we have killed a lot of people who have wandered this way. And I can't believe we didn't shoot you on site. [00:23:16] Speaker G: You don't say. Well, I've been around the block. I'm just a silly old bard who likes to make people happy with music. No matter what walk of life they're from. Just making them happy. [00:23:29] Speaker C: Well, you enjoy the lovely homemade beer that we made. [00:23:34] Speaker G: It is unlike anything I ever tasted in my life. [00:23:38] Speaker C: And you and your friend, wherever you find them, wherever those lazy bums are, should wander away. [00:23:46] Speaker G: You're right. We'll be getting right on that. [00:23:50] Speaker C: All right. While you're having this conversation, what are you guys doing out? Twin Talon. You hear this conversation because you're listening behind the door or behind the building. [00:24:02] Speaker G: Okay. [00:24:04] Speaker D: And Brianna's back there with. [00:24:05] Speaker C: Brianna is back there as well. [00:24:06] Speaker G: Where's the cave direction? [00:24:08] Speaker D: Yes, it is directly behind the building. [00:24:12] Speaker C: However, they said yes. It is difficult. Like those of you back there. You look and you can't really see a cave entrance. There's just a lot of moss in the way. Okay. [00:24:26] Speaker D: Twin Talon is going to look at Brianna and kind of wink and he motions to himself and then emotions back toward where he thinks the cave probably is. [00:24:37] Speaker H: Brienna will look perplexed at him and see motion be like, don't we want to wait for the others or gather the others sort of thing? [00:24:46] Speaker D: Well, this is not a conversation we can have in mind. [00:24:49] Speaker C: No. [00:24:49] Speaker D: Yeah, twin Talon is going to stealth himself. It looks like there's a lot more overgrowth, probably behind or. [00:24:56] Speaker C: No. [00:24:56] Speaker D: Is that not accurate? [00:24:57] Speaker C: No, the map is 100%. What you see is what you get. [00:25:01] Speaker D: Okay, so he's going to take advantage of the overgrowth behind the cabin to work his way backwards and see if he can find the cave entrance. [00:25:07] Speaker C: Yep. All right. Timid and Pond watcher. [00:25:11] Speaker B: So first, would you consider this underbrush? [00:25:14] Speaker C: No, this is thicker than underbrush. [00:25:16] Speaker B: Okay. [00:25:17] Speaker C: Sorry. [00:25:18] Speaker F: Pond Watcher is pretty worried about silver. He can't hear what's going on. He just see him disappear into the thing and he doesn't know how long to wait. So he's looking to timid for guidance. [00:25:27] Speaker B: I have another question. This building that silver is in currently and that Brienna and twin Talon are outside of that has a roof. [00:25:36] Speaker C: Yes, it is. A. [00:25:37] Speaker B: And so the arrows couldn't go into it. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Correct. [00:25:40] Speaker B: And it has a door that's open currently? [00:25:41] Speaker C: Correct. [00:25:42] Speaker B: With silver in it. [00:25:43] Speaker C: Correct. [00:25:44] Speaker B: If we rushed into the build, I mean, I'm just thinking as Anwar, if we rush into the building, we have cover from the arrows and then we. [00:25:51] Speaker C: Could bargain with her. [00:25:53] Speaker B: I was thinking take her out. We could bargain with her too, but we would have much more of an upper hand. Right. Like because her henchmen wouldn't be able to assist her with bow and arrows from up there if they couldn't see us. [00:26:05] Speaker H: I meant more bargain with her life. That's more Haya talking than Brianna. Brianna's a bit more honorable than that. [00:26:12] Speaker B: So I guess temid's plan of action now that he has the same idea that I do, is to make his way over to pawn Watcher. Because I don't think that that conversation can be had via mime as well. So seven plus seven, you're going to. [00:26:28] Speaker F: Try to sneak over. [00:26:30] Speaker C: All right, you start to sneak over. Stop him right there. [00:26:34] Speaker B: Son of a bitch. [00:26:35] Speaker C: I just need to make some checks. Hang on. [00:26:41] Speaker F: The beer in your. [00:26:42] Speaker C: Wait. [00:26:43] Speaker B: Can I hero point it? [00:26:46] Speaker C: Do you want to hero point it? Yeah. [00:26:47] Speaker B: I have an extra. [00:26:48] Speaker D: We don't know what the result is. [00:26:49] Speaker C: All right, you have to take the second. [00:26:51] Speaker B: Wait. We can do a hero point after. [00:26:54] Speaker D: You have to do it. It's to reroll a roll you just rolled and you must take the second result. [00:26:58] Speaker B: Oh, okay, then I'll wait to see. [00:27:00] Speaker D: So without knowing what we did, throwing hero points at it might actually make a success into a failure. [00:27:07] Speaker C: Fair. All right, so as you move across to pond Watcher, the first voice, the first gruff voice that you guys heard. Hey, what are you doing? [00:27:20] Speaker B: I just flipped one of my hero points over to him. [00:27:25] Speaker C: Must have been the wind. [00:27:28] Speaker B: So then he ends up right next to pond Watcher and he says, all right, pond watcher, we have to go help Silver. [00:27:35] Speaker C: Where's Silver? [00:27:36] Speaker B: He's in that building over there, directly ahead of us. If we were able to rush in, regardless of whether or not they see us, we could assist. [00:27:45] Speaker C: Silver, don't forget, they're 20ft in the air. [00:27:49] Speaker B: Right, but if we rush through straight ahead, it doesn't matter if they see us or not rushing in, as long as we do it on our turn, because then we'll be inside the building. Well, I'm explaining as Anwar. [00:28:00] Speaker C: Let's just sneak in. [00:28:02] Speaker B: I say we rush in. [00:28:04] Speaker C: Well, if they see us, we can run the rest of the way. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Fair point. [00:28:08] Speaker C: Are y'all sneaking in? We have to save him. They're killing him, I think. [00:28:14] Speaker B: I don't think so, but I think it's our best course of action time. [00:28:17] Speaker C: He's an old man. [00:28:20] Speaker B: Let's go. Let's go. [00:28:23] Speaker C: All right, so you guys start to stealth towards the door. [00:28:28] Speaker F: I also have a plus seven. [00:28:35] Speaker G: A lot of people. [00:28:37] Speaker B: He's rolling on dice often. Way too often. [00:28:39] Speaker H: All right, well, there's several of them. [00:28:41] Speaker C: There's six of them. [00:28:43] Speaker B: Yeah, but you could just, like, let us win. [00:28:45] Speaker C: I could, but that'd be no fun. [00:28:47] Speaker H: That would be no fun. [00:28:48] Speaker B: Speak for yourself. [00:28:50] Speaker C: Brianna, what are you doing? [00:28:52] Speaker H: Do I see them? [00:28:53] Speaker C: You see silver? I'm sorry? You see Pond Watcher and Temid start to sneak towards the door. [00:29:00] Speaker H: I will hold and see how far they get in case I need to. [00:29:04] Speaker C: Five in front of the door. You hear from your right. Hey, who are those two? We're just guys like you. [00:29:17] Speaker B: We're part of the troop that's singing with the old man. Deception, deception, deception. [00:29:23] Speaker C: All right, give me a deception roll 19. [00:29:27] Speaker G: Nice. [00:29:30] Speaker C: You succeed. Critically. [00:29:33] Speaker B: Oh, nice. Critically. [00:29:34] Speaker C: Yeah, he's inside. [00:29:37] Speaker B: All right. There may be a couple of other of our allies around here. They're also a part of the troop. If you see them, just tell them to come into the building with us. [00:29:46] Speaker C: All right, so the two of you, thanks a lot. [00:29:49] Speaker B: We'll do a performance for you afterwards, too. [00:29:51] Speaker C: Oh, that first song was so good. I can't wait to hear another one. [00:29:54] Speaker B: Yeah, it gets even better. All right, see you later. [00:29:56] Speaker F: You guys are great at this. [00:30:01] Speaker C: I think I grabbed your dice, rich. [00:30:04] Speaker F: Apparently. [00:30:06] Speaker C: So you guys sneak in. Well, you walk in. [00:30:10] Speaker G: Here's two of my lazy bum companions right here. [00:30:14] Speaker C: Demiri looks at. [00:30:17] Speaker G: Part of my troop. Oh, yeah. [00:30:20] Speaker C: I'm Damiri. Have a sip. And she hands the beer to temid. Beer to temid. [00:30:27] Speaker B: Can't waste alcohol. [00:30:29] Speaker C: True. [00:30:29] Speaker B: So he takes it. All right. He doesn't even just take a sip of it. He takes a big gulp. [00:30:39] Speaker D: A big gulp. [00:30:40] Speaker C: Like a really big gulp. [00:30:41] Speaker G: 711. [00:30:41] Speaker C: 1111. Big gulp. [00:30:44] Speaker D: 711. They do not sponsor us yet. [00:30:47] Speaker G: I take it. [00:30:49] Speaker C: It is vile. [00:30:51] Speaker B: Yeah, but then he takes another gulp because again, it's not wasting alcohol. And then you don't know if there's. [00:30:55] Speaker C: Any alcohol in this. [00:30:57] Speaker H: Yeah. [00:30:57] Speaker B: Wait, okay, can he tell after the first gulp if there's alcohol in it? Because trust me, he's had a lot of. [00:31:03] Speaker C: Something's fermented, so maybe it's kimchi, maybe sugar. [00:31:09] Speaker F: Are you okay? [00:31:11] Speaker G: Well, yes. Pond watcher. I was just talking to Mary over here, my new pal. She was actually, you wouldn't believe this. Hired to guard something that we are looking for. But because we're all friends here, we're just going to just say, oh, howdy, heidi hootie. [00:31:34] Speaker F: I don't follow what that means. [00:31:36] Speaker G: It's all right. I can do. [00:31:37] Speaker B: The thing is that some type of. [00:31:39] Speaker C: COVID Damiri looks at you. You have the most interesting accent I have ever heard. And she, like, takes some of her hair and pushes it behind her. Oh, yeah. [00:31:51] Speaker B: Who is she talking to? [00:31:53] Speaker C: Pond watcher. [00:31:54] Speaker F: Yes, I'm from Erison. [00:31:57] Speaker C: Yes. And she picks the eye patch up that's covering one eye, and there's nothing there. It's just like a hole in her face. [00:32:05] Speaker F: Okay. [00:32:06] Speaker B: Heman takes another swig when he sees that. [00:32:09] Speaker G: Do you have a picture of her, Sean? [00:32:11] Speaker C: Yes, I do. I'll show you for our website, no doubt. Yes. [00:32:16] Speaker B: And also, can you just make sure you read all the stats, too? [00:32:19] Speaker C: Yes, I was about to pass it around, but the stats are on there. [00:32:23] Speaker G: Interesting. [00:32:24] Speaker D: So she's got, like, a scar on her head where the eye. [00:32:26] Speaker C: Oh, she's got a rapier. [00:32:27] Speaker B: Let's kill her for her rapier so. [00:32:29] Speaker C: I can dagger yeah, I don't care about that. [00:32:33] Speaker F: Okay, I'm a little confused. [00:32:37] Speaker C: Wait. [00:32:38] Speaker F: Silver. She's stopping us from going to our goal? Is that what you're saying? [00:32:43] Speaker C: So my friend Silver here told me that Vase did you guys wrong and didn't pay for your amazing performances. What? Yes. [00:32:53] Speaker B: Tempe makes eye contact with silver. Kind of like squints. [00:32:56] Speaker C: And Vase actually paid us to guard her from the cave back. Make sure no one goes to the cave behind her. [00:33:06] Speaker F: She's in a cave? [00:33:07] Speaker C: Yes. [00:33:07] Speaker F: Are you telling me we can't go get her in the cave? [00:33:10] Speaker C: No, we have to defend her. So if you went that way, we'd have to kill you. [00:33:15] Speaker F: I'm sorry, was that a personal challenge? [00:33:18] Speaker C: No, I'm just telling you. No. That me and my men out there would stop anyone from going in the cave. We were paid a lot of gold, so we would be forced to kill anyone who attempts. Not just you, your little friend here too, and the old man. We'd have to kill all of them. Are you threatening me? No, I'm just saying don't go in the cave. [00:33:46] Speaker G: We can be friendly. Here, have a sip. [00:33:50] Speaker D: And she passes that I know Pond. [00:33:52] Speaker G: Watcher and I know he's on the verge. If he thinks she's challenging him, then there's nothing I can do. [00:33:58] Speaker B: I feel like we see just a little bit of steam, like coming out of his nose with the ice. It's just really starting to build up. [00:34:08] Speaker G: Sometimes people have a job to do and we would interfere that it's not like we would be able to get in there on their own without people knowing we did it. So we'll just be on our way. We don't want to fight them. She doesn't want to fight me. [00:34:26] Speaker C: No. You guys are great entertainment. In fact, I will pay you five gold to come back and perform for the troops again. [00:34:36] Speaker G: I would be happy to take that five gold to perform. We'd have to build like a set and do all these sort of things. [00:34:43] Speaker C: Absolutely. You can perform on one of the platforms up there. You get a nice elevated look. [00:34:50] Speaker G: Even better. [00:34:51] Speaker C: Your music would carry through the course of this area. [00:34:57] Speaker B: Question outside of character. Our two allies that are not in the building, are they able to hear this part of the conversation? [00:35:06] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:08] Speaker B: So now at this point, everyone is on the same page as to the information. Actually, no. [00:35:13] Speaker D: You left to twin Talon to check out the cape. [00:35:16] Speaker C: You don't know where twin Talon is. You kind of know where Brianna is and she can hear as well. [00:35:20] Speaker H: But do I have visual on twin Talon or did he just duck out to. [00:35:25] Speaker C: Well, so he started to feel around and as soon as you put your hand on that moss, your hand pushes it to the side and there is a cave entrance. [00:35:33] Speaker G: I might. [00:35:34] Speaker D: Okay, then he will look inside. Is it lit at all? [00:35:39] Speaker C: It is pitch black inside. Only the sunlight coming through is in there. [00:35:44] Speaker D: And I know Vase is an elf. [00:35:46] Speaker G: And I know elves. [00:35:47] Speaker F: The elves. [00:35:48] Speaker D: I know it's a 50 50 chance she has dark vision. [00:35:52] Speaker C: Shit. [00:35:53] Speaker D: Twin Talon will step in behind the moss and let the cave entrance close. [00:35:59] Speaker C: And he'll just basically, the moss closes. The darkness kind of settles in over the cave mouth. So it is complete darkness in there. [00:36:06] Speaker G: Okay. [00:36:06] Speaker D: Then he will just use perception to see if he can hear anything in there. [00:36:11] Speaker C: You hear small legs skittering through the underbrush in the cave or outside in the cave. And other than that, nothing else dripping water. [00:36:25] Speaker H: So much for our foley stuff in post. Can I tell what is the way up to the tower closest to me on the right? [00:36:42] Speaker C: How you would get up? Yeah, absolutely. You know that there are rope ladders that you could climb up if you were at the very top. You could use three interactions to pull the rope ladder up to make it unaccessible to other people, inaccessible to other people. Or if it is pulled up, you can kick it down for one interaction. [00:37:06] Speaker F: Okay, so I'm just trying to decide whether or not what she said to pawn watcher constitutes a personal insult. [00:37:16] Speaker C: She threatened to kill you. [00:37:18] Speaker F: I was actually thinking of the other instinct, which is giant instinct, which is the challenge thing. It's actually a personal insult. So I don't know if she's being pretty friendly. [00:37:29] Speaker C: She is. She's smiling. [00:37:31] Speaker F: I don't think he likes it, but I don't know if it qualifies as my anathema of letting a personal insult slide. So I think he's still just kind of on the edge, but he's not going to do anything aggressive at this moment. [00:37:44] Speaker G: Yeah, she didn't insult you. [00:37:45] Speaker F: But she said she would kill me. She didn't insult me. [00:37:49] Speaker C: To be fair. [00:37:50] Speaker G: You've probably said the same thing to. [00:37:52] Speaker F: Other people too, right? [00:37:54] Speaker C: But. [00:37:54] Speaker G: Okay, I'm going to try a different tact. [00:37:58] Speaker C: All right. [00:37:58] Speaker G: Because she's great. [00:37:59] Speaker C: How long does your spell last? [00:38:01] Speaker G: That's a good question. [00:38:02] Speaker D: 1 hour. [00:38:03] Speaker C: Okay. You're fine. [00:38:04] Speaker G: You're plenty of time. So I got a question for you. Ferrari. [00:38:13] Speaker C: Demiri. [00:38:14] Speaker G: Demiri. [00:38:14] Speaker C: I know that alcohol goes straight to. [00:38:17] Speaker G: Stuff'S really potent, right? You should drink. [00:38:20] Speaker B: And it kind of shrugs like not really. [00:38:27] Speaker G: You're hiding here, making sure vase. [00:38:29] Speaker C: We're not hiding. We're working. [00:38:31] Speaker G: You're working. Keeping vase safe. [00:38:33] Speaker C: Correct. [00:38:36] Speaker G: The limits of your contract is you not letting anybody in as far as you know. That's right. [00:38:42] Speaker C: No one in. [00:38:43] Speaker G: No one in. All right. [00:38:44] Speaker D: Okay. [00:38:46] Speaker G: Now if someone was already in there. That's impossible because it's impossible. [00:38:52] Speaker C: But there's no way they would have been struck down. [00:38:54] Speaker G: Yeah, they would be struck down. But if they were in there already, you wouldn't run in to go help her out. [00:39:02] Speaker C: Our contract is to make sure no one goes into the cave. [00:39:06] Speaker G: All right, cool. That's fine. You are a wise woman. [00:39:15] Speaker D: Woman of this world. [00:39:16] Speaker G: Right over here. I'm surprised you have any good stories. I can spread the stories of your band here throughout the land. [00:39:25] Speaker C: During the goblin blood wars, there was this one pathetic group of humans and elves that were stationed in a camp very similar to this. And me and my goblins, just goblins and orcs, just ran roughshot. But can the looks on their faces. Oh no. A hobgoblin. As they were running, fleeing like the weaklings that those humans and elves were, I killed so many of them. It was so good. [00:39:58] Speaker B: I see Tim is going to take a step towards her. [00:40:02] Speaker C: Okay. [00:40:02] Speaker D: I feel like this character knows what pawn Watcher's anathema is. [00:40:09] Speaker C: It's a hobgoblin. They're not the most tactful creature. [00:40:12] Speaker G: I'm going to close the door of her little shack. [00:40:15] Speaker C: Okay. [00:40:15] Speaker F: You seem like a very bad person. [00:40:19] Speaker C: First of all, I'm a hobgoblin, so. [00:40:22] Speaker F: You'Re not a person. [00:40:23] Speaker C: I'm not a human. [00:40:23] Speaker F: I didn't call you a human. I called you a person, you idiot. [00:40:28] Speaker G: I'm going to cast something on her as this is escalating. [00:40:32] Speaker C: All right, you can try. [00:40:33] Speaker G: I'm just looking up how it does it. [00:40:34] Speaker C: Sorry. [00:40:35] Speaker G: Okay, that's fine. [00:40:36] Speaker C: While you're looking that up, Brienna, you're hearing all of this inside and you can no longer see. [00:40:44] Speaker H: So. Okay. Part of me wants to be like, yoohoo. So we're supposed to be building a set soon. So I'm going to go and inspect these platforms. I'm doing my best common accent. [00:41:03] Speaker C: That'S part of you. And what's the other part want to do? [00:41:06] Speaker H: Go inside as well. Be like, oh, sorry I lost you. Silver, you run so fast. [00:41:11] Speaker C: So which one are you doing? [00:41:14] Speaker H: I feel like Brianna has a pull to not leave twin Talon alone because. [00:41:21] Speaker C: He just kind of like disappeared. Yeah, she's like shit. [00:41:26] Speaker H: So I think she'll move a bit closer towards the cave, but also listen, so she's, like, in between, just in case she's needed in one place or the other. [00:41:34] Speaker C: Are you trying to move selfly? Sure. Hey, are you part of the troop? [00:41:46] Speaker H: Yeah, I'm just looking around just in case we do our performances later on. [00:41:51] Speaker I: So we can build a set properly. [00:41:53] Speaker C: Absalom. [00:41:54] Speaker I: Oh, my gosh. [00:41:55] Speaker H: How did you know? [00:41:57] Speaker C: Very particular accent. [00:42:00] Speaker H: Yes. I'm going to have to pray about this much later, but, yes. [00:42:07] Speaker C: They'Re all inside, if that's what you're looking for. [00:42:11] Speaker H: Well, they said something about building set, so I'm just here surveying for set. [00:42:15] Speaker I: Building when we come back. [00:42:16] Speaker C: Yeah, no problem. Just let us know if you need anything. Just don't go in the cave or we'll be forced to kill you. Oh, okay, great. [00:42:24] Speaker G: I cast hideous laughter on her. [00:42:26] Speaker D: Okay, so that would break the charm. [00:42:29] Speaker C: That would break. [00:42:30] Speaker G: It would break the charm. Things are getting tense. [00:42:32] Speaker C: Yes. All right, so how does hideous laughter work? [00:42:35] Speaker G: She still has to make a will save. [00:42:37] Speaker C: Same DC 19? [00:42:38] Speaker G: Same DC 19. I have a hero point I will use if necessary. [00:42:45] Speaker B: I don't think you can make someone else reroll. [00:42:48] Speaker G: Right. [00:42:48] Speaker B: I think it's just. [00:42:49] Speaker D: Yeah, that's not the way they work. [00:42:51] Speaker C: All right, I fail, but I don't critically fail. [00:42:58] Speaker G: So it says on a failure. [00:43:01] Speaker C: Yes. [00:43:02] Speaker G: The target is slowed one and can't use reactions. Okay, they're also laughing. They're laughing as a part of it, but this is the effect. [00:43:15] Speaker B: Sounds like we were telling good jokes in here. [00:43:16] Speaker D: Yeah, she's laughing, but she's not incapable of speech, right? No, she is just slowed. So she has two actions instead of. [00:43:23] Speaker C: Three for one round. [00:43:26] Speaker D: I'm not sure what the duration of shooting slam. [00:43:28] Speaker G: I'm looking at it. It's sustained, so as long as. [00:43:31] Speaker C: Okay, so she has two actions instead of three and cannot use reactions if they have any. [00:43:37] Speaker G: And I guess at this point, because the charm spell is down and we're in here, I guess Silver would look at Pond Watcher, and as he's, like, playing his guitar and doing little trills to making her laugh, he's like, we gotta take. [00:43:57] Speaker C: Who are you? [00:44:03] Speaker F: Can't stop us. [00:44:05] Speaker C: What do you mean? [00:44:06] Speaker F: We're going in that cave. [00:44:07] Speaker C: No. I'll kill you all. [00:44:12] Speaker H: I'm guessing Brianna now hears this. [00:44:14] Speaker C: Oh, everyone hears the laughter. [00:44:16] Speaker G: This is a loud laughter. [00:44:19] Speaker C: Well, cool. [00:44:22] Speaker G: Three on one is not that odd for us in here. [00:44:26] Speaker F: I don't think he's ready to just kill this person, though. [00:44:30] Speaker B: Well, there is an opportunity to do non lethal and just take them out. [00:44:34] Speaker G: Yeah, she can't react at the moment. [00:44:36] Speaker C: Yeah. You can also just try and tie her up. [00:44:39] Speaker D: Yeah, but she's not disabled in any way. [00:44:43] Speaker C: Right. [00:44:44] Speaker D: The charm has broken. [00:44:45] Speaker C: Right. [00:44:46] Speaker D: And if she has done something while charmed, which is out of the ordinary, it becomes immediately evident. [00:44:52] Speaker C: Right, well, she's just laughing. But if you make any aggressive movements, we'll go into initiative. But. Get out of my house. [00:45:07] Speaker F: I'm going to punch her in the face. [00:45:08] Speaker C: Okay, let's roll the initiative. [00:45:11] Speaker B: Is that lethal? [00:45:13] Speaker C: No. [00:45:14] Speaker F: I don't know. [00:45:16] Speaker B: A fist has a non lethal property. So you could do non lethal if. [00:45:19] Speaker D: You chose its default as non lethal. And you can take a negative to your attack, I believe, to make it lethal. [00:45:24] Speaker C: All right, make it lethal. Silver, what is your initiative? [00:45:27] Speaker G: Okay, so I'm going to use my performance rule on this. [00:45:30] Speaker C: Yes, because you were performing. [00:45:31] Speaker G: I was performing. And then Kate, that's 20 even. [00:45:36] Speaker C: All right. Pond watcher, ten. Brienna, 16, timid. [00:45:43] Speaker B: 25. [00:45:45] Speaker C: Twin, 26. All right, we're about to start a really big combat. So remember how I said before we started recording? This could either go real bad or real good. [00:45:57] Speaker B: I think we're in a decent position seeing as how we've negated the primary danger from six of these seven enemies. [00:46:04] Speaker F: Brianna needs to take cover, like, immediately. [00:46:07] Speaker G: Yes. [00:46:08] Speaker H: I'll just kick the bucket. It's fine. [00:46:11] Speaker G: Guys, what are we doing? [00:46:13] Speaker C: I mean, so Damiri goes first. [00:46:17] Speaker B: Wait, she is higher than 25? [00:46:19] Speaker C: 31. [00:46:21] Speaker F: Oh, boy. [00:46:22] Speaker B: I don't think that's higher than 25. [00:46:23] Speaker C: So she is going to go first, but she only gets two actions and she was not prepared for a fight. So her first action is to move through the curtain to the left and grab her weapons. There we go. Twin Talon. You don't actually hear any combat or anything yet. You just hear laughing and that's it. [00:46:53] Speaker F: You hear the whiff of a punch as I miss completely as she leaves the room. And then I just stand there. [00:47:01] Speaker D: I guess. Twin Talon is going to continue to delay. I mean, can he see through the vines at all? Like through the moss or. [00:47:06] Speaker C: It's very thick. No. [00:47:10] Speaker G: Okay. Yeah. [00:47:11] Speaker D: Then I will delay. [00:47:12] Speaker C: All right. Timid. [00:47:16] Speaker B: Does he have a straight line to her or a line to her? [00:47:20] Speaker C: There is a curtain that's separating the two rooms. [00:47:23] Speaker B: So basically there's a room that we're in. Doorway. And then where she is at the moment. [00:47:29] Speaker C: Right? Correct. That line on the map is not a physical doorway. It's a curtain. [00:47:34] Speaker B: It's a curtain. [00:47:35] Speaker C: Okay. [00:47:37] Speaker B: So there are multiple spaces where people could enter into that room. [00:47:41] Speaker C: You can just push it to the side. [00:47:42] Speaker B: Got you. Okay, so that makes me feel better about what I decided to do. He's going to try to salvage the situation a little bit and he's going to run after her and he's going to try to grab her, basically, like going to grab her and push her up against the wall because she's right against the wall anyways. [00:47:59] Speaker C: Okay. [00:48:00] Speaker B: So he's going to take one move and with a single action, he's going to use his athletic skill to try to grapple against her fortitude DC, hoping that her fortitude DC isn't crazy high because his athletics is only a plus five. [00:48:12] Speaker C: Fortitude DC would be ten plus my fortitude modifier. Correct. Great. Make that roll. [00:48:18] Speaker B: He looked really happy about this. 22. [00:48:22] Speaker C: You succeed. [00:48:23] Speaker F: Nice. [00:48:23] Speaker C: Good job. [00:48:24] Speaker B: So he grapples her. [00:48:25] Speaker C: All right, she is grappled. [00:48:26] Speaker B: So that's two actions. One one, and then the third one, I don't know. So I think that's good enough for now because there's really nothing else that he could do with it besides maybe calling out to, like, let's try to subdue her. [00:48:38] Speaker C: All right. Do you call that out to the room? [00:48:43] Speaker B: Pond watcher and silver, I don't think the pond watcher is going to listen, but silver, she's at very least an easy target for him. [00:48:50] Speaker C: Silver, you're up. You see timid. And everyone outside hears a body get slammed against the wall. That dull funk noise. [00:48:59] Speaker G: So one action to sustain the spell making her laugh. Okay, I'm going to do a performance for the other two, I guess to make it play like we're roughhousing in here because she's a hobgoblin. [00:49:13] Speaker C: Okay. [00:49:13] Speaker G: So it's saying, like, oh, wow, I could not believe you could do a handstand there. Oh, my gosh. That kind of thing. [00:49:23] Speaker C: Give me a deception. Deception check, please. [00:49:26] Speaker G: Deception. [00:49:28] Speaker C: Okay, that's the worst. [00:49:30] Speaker G: Okay, 25. [00:49:32] Speaker C: All right, let's see how that plays. [00:49:34] Speaker G: And she's still laughing, but. [00:49:42] Speaker C: All right, Brianna, you see the one that looks like a snake figure? Okay. You see the one on the top there? Kind of look towards the wall and you see them draw and knock an arrow. Okay, Brianna, it's your turn now. [00:50:02] Speaker H: Sounds like they're having a good tussle in there. I'm just going to go check in on them. I'm going to go check in. [00:50:09] Speaker C: All right, go towards the door. [00:50:11] Speaker H: As a first action, I'm guessing. What's your speed 20. [00:50:16] Speaker C: All right. [00:50:16] Speaker H: I guess it's another action to open the door. Or is it already open? [00:50:20] Speaker C: It is an action to open the door because it was specifically closed. [00:50:24] Speaker H: Another action to step through it, I'm guessing. [00:50:26] Speaker C: Well, it's a move. Yeah. [00:50:28] Speaker D: Which is an action. [00:50:28] Speaker C: Yeah, sure, I'll do that. All right. You are in there with the open door. [00:50:34] Speaker H: I'll make sure that my shield is pointed outwards, and I'll be a door for a bit. [00:50:40] Speaker C: All right. [00:50:41] Speaker B: I'm just surveying the area, but I have a sword and a shield. [00:50:44] Speaker C: Pond watcher, what are you doing? [00:50:46] Speaker D: It's dangerous woods. [00:50:47] Speaker C: Yeah, there's bandits. [00:50:51] Speaker F: We hear Pond watcher rages. [00:50:55] Speaker C: Oh, no. [00:50:56] Speaker B: Against the machine. [00:50:58] Speaker F: And just for flavor's sake, he lunges at her. She runs away. He throws the table out of the way. He's going to chase her and just punch her. [00:51:08] Speaker C: Okay. [00:51:09] Speaker F: With ice fist. [00:51:10] Speaker C: Okay. Well, she is restrained, so I'm going to say that's a minus two. [00:51:14] Speaker B: No. [00:51:16] Speaker C: What is it? [00:51:17] Speaker D: Grapple condition. By specific? [00:51:19] Speaker B: Yeah, she's flat footed. I don't know what that means specifically. And a mobile minus two. [00:51:24] Speaker C: Oh. So, okay, so make your attack roll. What's your total? Twelve. All right, so that's a miss. And then your second action. [00:51:33] Speaker G: That's it. [00:51:33] Speaker C: Or third action. [00:51:34] Speaker F: Rage move. Punch. [00:51:35] Speaker C: Punch. All right, well, we're back to the top of the round now. Grappling has always been a thing in pathfinder, so what can I do when I'm grappled? [00:51:47] Speaker B: She's currently immobilized. If you try to manipulate any item that you have, it's a DC five flat check to not lose the item. [00:51:57] Speaker C: Okay. [00:51:57] Speaker B: But other than that, you can try to attempt, I guess, a grapple maneuver against me in order to escape. [00:52:05] Speaker C: All right, so I'm going to try to escape. That's a grapple. So that would be an athletics. [00:52:11] Speaker B: You said athletics against my fortitude DC. [00:52:14] Speaker G: That's just one action. [00:52:15] Speaker C: Yes. [00:52:16] Speaker G: So she only has two. Okay. [00:52:17] Speaker B: My fortitude DC is 1820, which is greater than 18. [00:52:23] Speaker C: So she breaks out. [00:52:25] Speaker B: So she breaks out. That's one action. [00:52:26] Speaker C: Yes. And then her second action. [00:52:30] Speaker B: Oh, that was a bad idea. [00:52:32] Speaker G: A little bit. [00:52:33] Speaker B: She looks at you, he blows her a kiss. [00:52:38] Speaker C: She has spell cast from your boat. That's it. [00:52:41] Speaker H: Oh, here we go. [00:52:43] Speaker B: Wait, that's it. [00:52:44] Speaker C: What? [00:52:45] Speaker B: Because she's only got one action. [00:52:46] Speaker C: Right? [00:52:47] Speaker B: He's just looking up. Load. [00:52:48] Speaker F: He's looking up finger of death. [00:52:50] Speaker B: Okay, that's fine. [00:52:51] Speaker C: No, that's it. [00:52:53] Speaker D: She uses one action to break out and doesn't do anything with the other. [00:52:56] Speaker C: She does a second action. The second action is to look at him. Okay. It is a skill that she is using, but it requires one action and I don't want to tell you what it is because it's a way of fun stuff. [00:53:04] Speaker G: Oh, no, that's fine. [00:53:05] Speaker B: He closes his eyes. [00:53:07] Speaker C: It is now twin Talon's turn. [00:53:09] Speaker G: Okay. [00:53:10] Speaker D: Is it evident that there is combat? [00:53:14] Speaker C: It was a thud and then you hear the sound of furniture forcefully moving. You still hear laughing, but that's so bizarre. Yeah, it does not sound good. [00:53:29] Speaker D: Okay, so twin Talon will draw his bow. [00:53:34] Speaker C: All right. [00:53:34] Speaker D: Because he knows that there are six people up in the trees and I apologize, I don't recall. Are the ladders down or are they are all down? They are all down, yes. Oh, well then he doesn't do that. [00:53:47] Speaker C: Okay. [00:53:47] Speaker D: He's going to make his way if it looks like the group on this side. [00:53:53] Speaker C: Yes. [00:53:54] Speaker H: Closest towards you. [00:53:56] Speaker G: Yeah. [00:53:56] Speaker D: If it looks like they are paying attention. [00:53:59] Speaker C: West, by the way. [00:54:00] Speaker D: Thank you. So the group to the west, if it looks like they are paying attention to the house. [00:54:05] Speaker C: Okay. Yes. [00:54:06] Speaker D: He's going to start stealthily making his way to that ladder. [00:54:09] Speaker C: All right, so what's your speed? [00:54:11] Speaker D: My speed is 25, but when you're stealthing, I believe it's less than that. [00:54:15] Speaker C: Okay, so you can start moving. [00:54:18] Speaker D: Okay, so I will move from the entrance and I will sneak. It looks like it is six squares and that gets me right to the bottom of that ladder. [00:54:26] Speaker C: Great. Temid, you're up. [00:54:29] Speaker B: Given the current situation, temid feels just there's only trying to coerce her is going to take a minute. So that's not something that we can do. So I think he's just going to try to attack her. [00:54:40] Speaker C: All right. [00:54:41] Speaker B: But I think. I don't know. See, so I know that Brienna knows that they have a bounty on their head. However, Teme doesn't know that. [00:54:52] Speaker C: Right. That's fine. [00:54:53] Speaker H: I haven't had a chance to say. [00:54:54] Speaker B: He'S going to have to attack her lethally because that's all he knows. [00:54:56] Speaker D: Well, you did get, according to Sean, that Brandon was motioning to take them alive to capture. [00:55:06] Speaker H: Don't know, because we don't have that ability of like. What was it, the secret? [00:55:11] Speaker C: Yeah, the secret chat. [00:55:12] Speaker B: I just don't feel like that much information could have been. [00:55:15] Speaker D: Well, I mean, that's what Sean said. [00:55:16] Speaker C: You got, you kind of got like round them up type deal, but you don't know if that means like round them up and take them out or round them up and drive them to Burger King. Or round them up and eat something. [00:55:27] Speaker D: Probably the Burger king. [00:55:28] Speaker B: I mean, either way, he's just going to take. He's going to take a swing. [00:55:30] Speaker C: Musket whoppers. Delicious whoppers. [00:55:36] Speaker B: 22. [00:55:37] Speaker C: That will hit. [00:55:42] Speaker B: I'm really concerned that you had to look at that for that long. [00:55:45] Speaker G: That's terrifying. Okay. [00:55:49] Speaker B: Ten points of damage. So seeing pond Watcher kind of miss, and in this rage, he wants to end this situation as soon as possible. Basically, he ducks underneath the twirling cape of Pond Watcher as he takes his last punch and he stabs underneath at her, gets her for ten points of damage. [00:56:16] Speaker C: All right, that's your first action. Second action to throw the die on the floor. Who put a cape on me? I don't wear a cape. [00:56:26] Speaker B: Eleven against AC. [00:56:29] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:56:29] Speaker B: Is that a crit? That fail, James. [00:56:32] Speaker C: Oh, wait. Hang on, hang on, hang on. Yes. Oh, boy. That is a critical fail. [00:56:40] Speaker D: I have that deck of cards. [00:56:41] Speaker H: Oh, you are far too excited for one of your friends. [00:56:44] Speaker D: I just remembered that I get to do something. [00:56:48] Speaker B: So on the floor. The first die that I rolled was much higher. [00:56:52] Speaker C: Oh, that stinks that it hit the floor. [00:56:54] Speaker G: That's so unfortunate for us. Like, really badly. [00:56:58] Speaker B: I did ten points of damage. [00:57:00] Speaker G: You did do ten points of damage. [00:57:01] Speaker D: Melee. Who was that? You are slowed one until the end of your next turn. [00:57:08] Speaker C: Well, that's not so bad. I feel like we got that one before. [00:57:11] Speaker D: These are the cards that you gave me. I mean, I think I've seen some. [00:57:14] Speaker G: That are similar effect. [00:57:16] Speaker C: All right, so you're slowed one. Not a big deal. And your third action? [00:57:20] Speaker B: I'm slowed one. So I took my two actions. I think that's it for my turn. [00:57:24] Speaker G: All right, silver, so my first action will be to maintain that one action. [00:57:30] Speaker C: Like deficit is really rough. [00:57:34] Speaker D: Yeah, it can be. [00:57:35] Speaker G: It's helping us. I'm not really combat oriented and all my spells. That would be combat. I would have to break this spell. So I'm going to keep. I'm going to walk over, actually, because Brienna just opened the door. [00:57:52] Speaker C: My other two came in. [00:57:53] Speaker G: Yeah, I'm going to walk over the door and close. [00:57:55] Speaker C: Okay, that's all right. [00:57:57] Speaker F: Smart, actually. [00:57:59] Speaker C: So one of the guys outside does something. Actually, I still can tell you, because twin town is out there. One of the gentlemen on the platform that you were about to climb up starts to climb down. Oh, awesome. [00:58:14] Speaker D: Yep, that'll be way faster. [00:58:16] Speaker C: Brianna, it's your turn. [00:58:18] Speaker H: Brianna will say there is a bounty on their head. Back in down. That's what I was trying to tell you. Tamad. We're supposed to bring them back alive. [00:58:27] Speaker B: Well, I didn't know that up until just now. [00:58:29] Speaker C: Well, you still have three actions. [00:58:34] Speaker H: I can't really probably see how far I would be from. [00:58:37] Speaker C: You are 510ft from her. [00:58:41] Speaker D: You're within one movement of everywhere in that building. [00:58:44] Speaker C: It's not a big building. [00:58:47] Speaker H: I'm just not sure, all right. What I'm doing. [00:58:50] Speaker C: All right, you can delay. Sure. All of the rest of the people start to do stuff outside. A couple more are starting to climb down. And then. Pond watcher. I don't like you, lady. I draw my wharf lail. [00:59:07] Speaker F: Okay, what are her weapons? [00:59:11] Speaker C: She currently has a rapier and a dagger. [00:59:15] Speaker F: I am going to try to disarm her with my flail. [00:59:20] Speaker C: Okay, how do you do that? That's an athletics check against a flat DC. [00:59:24] Speaker F: It is against a reflex DC, which is probably going to be pretty good. It's my. I roll it, though. [00:59:30] Speaker C: All right, so go ahead and roll, and I'll tell you if you succeed. It is very high. I will let you know that. [00:59:37] Speaker F: 18. [00:59:38] Speaker C: Not high enough. [00:59:39] Speaker F: So he tries to wrap around her arm and then she wriggles out of it, and then he just. And he just hits her with the flail instead. Or attempts to, and probably he's going to mess, let's be honest. [00:59:51] Speaker C: All right, come on. [00:59:54] Speaker F: Sorry. Hold on. 16. [00:59:57] Speaker C: Miss. One more action. Oh, no. Draw the flail. [01:00:03] Speaker F: Yes. [01:00:03] Speaker C: That's it. [01:00:04] Speaker F: I'm so bad at this game. [01:00:06] Speaker C: All right, Damiri, now that she's no longer entangled or grabbed, takes her sword, her rapier and her dagger. And swing at twin Talon. Nope. [01:00:21] Speaker F: She throws it out the window. [01:00:23] Speaker B: That's a fact. She stabs the wall. [01:00:26] Speaker C: She swings her rapier at temed first. [01:00:30] Speaker B: Hey, it's like a can I opportune Perry and repost, even though I'm not a slash fucker? [01:00:35] Speaker F: No. [01:00:36] Speaker H: Am I close to you in 15 of eight? [01:00:38] Speaker C: Yes. Okay. [01:00:41] Speaker H: I'll probably liberate you. Probably. [01:00:46] Speaker B: Whatever it is, it's against 20, so a 33. [01:00:50] Speaker F: Oh, boy. [01:00:51] Speaker H: I liberate you. [01:00:52] Speaker C: Whoa. [01:00:52] Speaker G: Wow. [01:00:53] Speaker C: To be fair, I roll the natural 20. [01:00:57] Speaker B: So she's got a plus 13. That's going to hit me very often. [01:01:00] Speaker C: So that's a ridiculous. [01:01:04] Speaker G: I don't have critical, but does your thing help with criticals? [01:01:09] Speaker C: Yeah, she can still. [01:01:11] Speaker G: I have no idea. [01:01:12] Speaker F: Well, it moves him after, right? [01:01:13] Speaker C: Yeah. So what are the rules with the crit cards? I can either use if there is. [01:01:18] Speaker D: A weapon specialization effect on the crit card. You can either use your weapon, specialization effect, if you have one, right? [01:01:25] Speaker C: Or the one on the crit card. All right, so who has the crit card? [01:01:28] Speaker G: I do. It's piercing. [01:01:31] Speaker C: Yes, pierced. [01:01:33] Speaker G: The target is slowed one until the end of their next turn. [01:01:36] Speaker F: Oh, no. [01:01:36] Speaker B: So you're slowed slow too, now. [01:01:38] Speaker F: Sorry I got us into this mess, guys. [01:01:41] Speaker G: No, we are all in this mess. [01:01:43] Speaker F: I shouldn't have gone in this building. [01:01:45] Speaker D: Don't worry. You guys take out her, I'll get the six guys outside. [01:01:48] Speaker C: Okay? [01:01:49] Speaker G: That would be really cool if you could do that. [01:01:52] Speaker C: So you take over here. [01:01:54] Speaker D: It's going to depend on how good my stealth is compared to everybody else's. [01:01:57] Speaker G: Perception after you start killing them. [01:02:01] Speaker C: They already said. What was that? Oh, must be the wind. [01:02:05] Speaker B: So you walk up behind them, you hit square, right, to grab them. And then you just hit square a bunch of times. [01:02:09] Speaker G: Just find a cardboard box. [01:02:13] Speaker D: I'm just going to grab a bush and hold it in front of my. [01:02:15] Speaker C: Face so I don't get the deadly disarmor. Finesse. Right. [01:02:19] Speaker D: So deadly means if you quit, in addition to your double damage or whatever, you roll that die as well. It's not doubled. [01:02:26] Speaker B: Okay, but it could be like a d eight or a d ten or. [01:02:28] Speaker D: Something like that, right? [01:02:29] Speaker B: Depends on. [01:02:29] Speaker D: I think it's deadly d eight for a rapier. [01:02:32] Speaker B: Oh, that's true. Yes, I have a rapier and that's true. [01:02:34] Speaker D: And then agile and finesse have to do with. Is it agile and finesse? [01:02:37] Speaker C: It's finesse and disarm. [01:02:39] Speaker D: So disarm is if you're using it to disarm. [01:02:42] Speaker F: Disarm means you can use it to disarm normally. You need to use your hand. [01:02:45] Speaker C: Gotcha. And then finesse means you use your decks. Decks bonus. Okay, so, temid, we're going to figure out how much damage you took next week. [01:02:56] Speaker D: Do you have a backup character ready? [01:03:01] Speaker E: Will our heroes survive this combat? What will happen to twin Talon? Who's all alone? Will silver be forced into his first physical combat? Will Temit survive? Find out the answers to these questions and more on the next episode of the Cracked Die podcast. And now a word from our sponsors.
