[00:00:44] Speaker A: The cracked Die podcast. My name is Matt. I play twin Talon on the show, and I just want to get through few announcements before we get you to the episode. So don't skip it. Just listen. I'm going to try to make it quick. Our first announcement is about the core rulebook giveaway. We have lowered the bar. It is so low, we can trip over it. All we need is ten reviews on Apple podcasts. Once we get ten reviews on Apple Podcasts, we will take those people's names, we will put them in a hat, presumably, and we will draw one, and that person will win that core rulebook. Already have a core rulebook. Don't let that stop you from reviewing us on Apple podcasts. There's always someone in your life, you know, who that person is, who wants to get into the hobby, who you think would have a good time, but who isn't in a position or doesn't want to shell out $60 for a core rulebook. This is your chance to help them out, to get them in. Or you could donate it to a charity like child's play. Or you could donate it to your local school. Or you could donate it to a prison. It's your book. You can do anything you want with it. Okay, number two, Patreon. We have a Patreon. And some of you have even found us. We are at Patreon cracked die podcast can also find
[email protected] crackeddypodcast that will never get old for me. In any case, if you have a few bucks you're not going to miss every month and you want to throw them our way, we would certainly appreciate it. Those Patreon gifts go to help us offset the cost of producing this show every week. And if by some miracle we ever get more money than we use each week to produce the show, we will use that money to upgrade to better equipment or hire a professional person to edit our podcasts. You know you want that. In any case, I want to give a shout out to our first patron. Numero uno. Patrono, I believe, is how it's called. Jacob W. Thank you so much. You are patron number one, the first person to believe in us, and we just want to give you a big thank you. Next week, we'll introduce your second patron. But until then, I've got a question for you. If you've not pledged on the Patreon yet, why not? Is there something else you'd like to see? If so, tell us. Tell us what we would have to do to get your money. Send an email to
[email protected] what would get you to give us $5, $10, $20 if you let us know. And it's not illegal, we might do it. But just to remind you, that is patreon.com crackdypodcast. Okay, third thing, mostly it's just stay tuned. We've got something coming up in May. We've got something coming up in August. There are things that are happening behind the scenes and you don't want to miss it. So stay tuned to our socials, stay tuned to our Patreon announcements. Stay tuned to the cracked die podcast. Everything coming down the pike. Anyway, that's enough for me. I said I'd kept that short and I clearly lied. Let me send you to the table for episode 27 of the Cracked Eye podcast, the Bad Touch.
[00:03:54] Speaker B: Welcome to the 27th episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:03:59] Speaker C: Three more to 30.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: I've said this before, but I think this is our last episode.
[00:04:05] Speaker B: Well, I actually want to bring up something with everyone, and it's a question.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: No, answered, asked and answered.
[00:04:15] Speaker D: Is it a yes or no question?
[00:04:16] Speaker B: No, it is not.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: What's even more, look, I have a huge brain and I can reduce the most complex problem into a simple yes or no question.
[00:04:23] Speaker B: So I do not like the way we've been handling hero points.
[00:04:28] Speaker C: Why not?
[00:04:29] Speaker B: Because we never hand them out. No one ever uses them, and it's silly.
[00:04:34] Speaker A: Do you think those are connected in any way?
[00:04:36] Speaker B: Absolutely. Okay, so I want to figure out a way to make handing out hero points more. I want more hero points. I want the economy to work.
[00:04:48] Speaker D: So maybe we should try the way that the book suggests to do it and to have them reset every session.
[00:04:54] Speaker B: Every session.
[00:04:55] Speaker D: And then you can be more flippant with handing them out because they're not going to necessarily come up much later down the line.
[00:05:03] Speaker B: Okay, we can definitely try that.
[00:05:05] Speaker A: Did you have a suggestion?
[00:05:06] Speaker B: No. Literally no clue. The only other thing is, I do like there's another game that exists in this world of role playing games, and the players can basically say, hey, I really like the way that so and so did this. I think it deserves a hero point. And then of course, I can be like, I don't think that really warrants a hero point. So players can nominate each other and be like, oh, the way you pond washer crit.
It really turned the tide of battle. Battle turned the tide of battle.
[00:05:43] Speaker A: Tide of battle.
[00:05:45] Speaker B: I think he should get a hero point. That was another thing I thought would work.
I'm stealing it from the Foo system, the free form universal role playing system. After this episode.
[00:06:00] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:06:00] Speaker B: Starting next episode, because people have hero points currently, we are going to reset hero points to zero and then at the start of every episode you get one.
[00:06:08] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:06:11] Speaker A: So here's my vote against that.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: Okay, let's hear it.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: I think, and this is my experience, and maybe my experience is aberrant, but in my experience, when you play Pathfinder, it is an exception for me to play for 1 hour and then leave.
[00:06:25] Speaker B: Right.
[00:06:26] Speaker A: So I feel like the system is intended to play for 4 hours. 4 hours or something like, whatever. If I was younger, 12 hours, summer vacation, whatever.
[00:06:37] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:37] Speaker A: So resetting them every session might be too much, but that's just my two cent. I don't know if that's.
[00:06:45] Speaker D: Or we can balanced or there's a limit of three. And so if you were to hand out anything more than here's the rate that you've been at, we're going to have to use them according to the.
[00:06:57] Speaker B: Rulebook, give out one hero point to each pc at the start of the session, give out roughly one more per hour of play for heroic act or a moderate or major accomplishment. And that's on core rulebook page 467 and 507. I don't know what that means. I'm just not liking the way we're doing hero points. If listeners, if you have a suggestion of how we should do hero points, please email us.
[00:07:24] Speaker C: Please email us. Anyway, we love hearing from you guys. We really do.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: It makes me so happy.
[00:07:28] Speaker A: And what email address should they use?
[00:07:30] Speaker B: Sean,
[email protected] and the subject should be.
[00:07:37] Speaker D: Temid is the best of all your messages.
[00:07:40] Speaker A: Unless you want that email to be deleted.
[00:07:44] Speaker B: No, just kidding.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: We read all no matter what it says.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly.
[00:07:47] Speaker D: Especially though, if it says ten minutes.
[00:07:49] Speaker C: Of best, at least Anwar will read that one.
[00:07:51] Speaker D: I'm going to learn how to read specifically to read that email. I swear.
[00:07:55] Speaker B: He's going to put it in his locker at school.
[00:07:58] Speaker D: All right, I'm going to school online.
[00:07:59] Speaker A: Thank you very much.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: You're going to put it on your computer monitor. So that was my two cent. My thoughts is I don't like the way we're doing hero points.
[00:08:06] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:08:07] Speaker B: We need to figure out a better way. I'm up for anything.
[00:08:10] Speaker D: Honestly, the second suggestion I had was not a joke. If you hand them out more, okay. Since we do have a limit, there's going to be like, oh, if I don't use this, I'm going to start losing hero points.
[00:08:20] Speaker B: All right, sounds good.
[00:08:21] Speaker A: Because think about it. When's the last time you actually handed one out?
[00:08:23] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:08:24] Speaker C: I think the last time hero points got handed out was me suggesting, like, 15 episodes ago that you should.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: It's been a while, and we have these lovely poker chips that we have and I want to make also because.
[00:08:36] Speaker D: I have two hero points and I don't have any. Sure, because I hand them back to you every time.
[00:08:39] Speaker C: I do, too, actually, I also like.
[00:08:42] Speaker D: To hand them out to my friends and other people that listen to the podcast. Some of you actually know who I'm talking about right now.
[00:08:48] Speaker B: And they have the retro logos.
[00:08:50] Speaker A: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:08:54] Speaker B: Sareia returns to the group, bringing along with her the escaped bloody blades member. Finally, all heroes go into the cave and begin exploring. All heroes meet up with a tixitog and parlay with her. Finally, Sareia, using her dark vision, begins to explore and comes across an elf with a bunch of skeletons. Combat begins. Will our heroes survive? Will our heroes be able to defeat this elf and her minions? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
So we left off in an Epic battle between a bunch of skeletons. Some skittering spider sounds an elf, and now it's Sareya's turn.
[00:09:46] Speaker C: So, in her hand, Sareia has one of her pre existing fire bombs. All right, she doesn't have to make one this turn.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: Just know that the whole group has clustered up.
[00:09:58] Speaker C: Yes, but don't forget that I'm special.
[00:10:02] Speaker B: All right, what's your role? Who are you aiming at?
[00:10:05] Speaker C: Well, there's still one right in front of her.
[00:10:07] Speaker B: There is?
And you can splash Brienna and twin Talon from.
[00:10:13] Speaker C: Or, you know, the big one that's right in front of Brianna.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: No, he's your friend.
[00:10:16] Speaker C: The one that's right underneath twin.
So given that there's one right in front of her, obviously I'm going to roll to throw it. But she's pissed off because it hit her with a sword and tried to claw her already. So she's just going to shove the bottle in its mouth for a 16? No, for an 18. I'm sorry.
[00:10:37] Speaker B: That'll hit.
[00:10:38] Speaker C: Sweet. So that one is a fire. It's two d eight.
Wow. On two d eight, I got eight.
So it's going to deal. Eight fire damage, two persistent fire damage, and two to the ones above and below.
[00:10:53] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:10:54] Speaker C: Oh, did it die? Well done.
[00:10:56] Speaker D: So it crumbles into like, a set of bones and you hear like, a xylophone noise yeah.
[00:11:02] Speaker C: Whoever's editing this, you know what to do.
[00:11:05] Speaker D: Use that noise that whoever just made, like a perfect dialogue noise.
[00:11:09] Speaker C: She's going to pull out another premade one. She doesn't actually have to move, which is good. What is her second attack?
[00:11:17] Speaker D: Twin Talon.
[00:11:19] Speaker B: You're attacking twin Talon?
[00:11:20] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:11:20] Speaker D: That's what I heard.
[00:11:22] Speaker A: Well, I am next to a bunch of them, so the splash damage would be pretty good.
[00:11:25] Speaker D: Actually, that might be the optimal square to throw it.
[00:11:27] Speaker A: Or you could hit vase and hit all of the same people and not me.
[00:11:30] Speaker B: She could splash you.
[00:11:31] Speaker C: Well, actually, no. What I'm going to do is I'm aiming for the one that's in between you and Brianna.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: The one to the north?
[00:11:36] Speaker C: Yeah, the one to the north that's like, circled by all of y'all.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: The one that looks really buff.
[00:11:40] Speaker C: Should I aim at that one or should I aim at vase? What kind of COVID does vase have? Because the twin is right there. Like how much sugar? Ac. Not a whole lot.
[00:11:50] Speaker B: Not a whole lot.
[00:11:51] Speaker A: Throw like a basketball from downtown. Four three, you're on fire.
[00:11:57] Speaker C: Coming up the court.
[00:11:59] Speaker A: I don't know why my NBA jam guy sounds like a 1930s radio.
[00:12:02] Speaker C: I was actually going to say Alec.
[00:12:03] Speaker B: McGinnis, but I could use a McGinnis right now.
[00:12:08] Speaker D: A Guinness from McDonald's?
[00:12:10] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: A Guinness from McDonald's.
Yeah.
[00:12:14] Speaker B: McGinnis at work right now.
[00:12:17] Speaker A: Got it.
[00:12:18] Speaker D: That's a quality joke and I'm really just disappointed.
[00:12:20] Speaker B: I appreciated it.
[00:12:22] Speaker C: It was pretty great. All right, so actually, I am going to aim at vase. Okay, so you're playing silver.
Oh, no. Because you're in the next room.
[00:12:32] Speaker A: You're not.
[00:12:33] Speaker C: I get my plus one. Two attack rolls from the moderate bottled lightning that I'm going to throw at her.
[00:12:38] Speaker A: Oh, boy.
[00:12:40] Speaker C: Is anything automatically fat footed for you, Twintellen?
[00:12:43] Speaker A: No.
[00:12:43] Speaker C: Cool. If this hits, she will be.
[00:12:48] Speaker B: Yes. All right, so you're at a minus four five for this roll.
[00:12:52] Speaker C: So I'm at a plus three after all the minuses.
Second attack. And it's still only a ten. But hey, since we're talking about trying to do fun things. Zero points. I'm going to reroll.
[00:13:04] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:13:06] Speaker A: You do it beforehand or no, you.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: Can choose after.
[00:13:12] Speaker C: 1919, add a girl.
[00:13:15] Speaker B: Misses.
[00:13:16] Speaker D: Wait, against 19 total.
[00:13:20] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:13:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Miss.
[00:13:21] Speaker D: Against what type are you allowed to do that?
[00:13:23] Speaker A: Ow.
[00:13:24] Speaker C: Can I spend another one to reroll again?
[00:13:25] Speaker B: Only one to reroll a check and use the second result. This is a fortune effect. You can only do one fortune effect. A roll. Damn. Okay.
[00:13:34] Speaker D: Also, the other thing is you want to have at least one. So that when and if something happens.
[00:13:39] Speaker C: Yeah, when and if I die again.
[00:13:41] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:13:41] Speaker B: All right.
[00:13:42] Speaker A: I think now it's more likely that I'll be using hero points for that purpose.
[00:13:45] Speaker B: Yes, that still misses.
[00:13:46] Speaker C: I'm sorry for the 19.
Well, it still does two electricity splash.
[00:13:51] Speaker B: To everything around her.
[00:13:52] Speaker C: Well, where does it hit? If it hits her square, then, yes, it would hit vase. And the one to the north. Yeah, anything in the eight around her.
[00:14:01] Speaker B: So it hits the skeleton below twin Talon. So it's going to hit there.
[00:14:07] Speaker C: Is it going to hit for the full effect there?
[00:14:09] Speaker B: No, that's where it looks just going to be. Splash. Yeah, splash. So it splashes there and then it hits.
[00:14:14] Speaker C: So, yeah, it'll splash everything around that as well. So that does hit vase, at least with two electricity splash.
[00:14:19] Speaker A: Yeah. And then one of the heftier skeletons, too, looks like.
[00:14:22] Speaker C: Thank you, rich, for handing me the hero point back that I chucked it. Sean.
[00:14:28] Speaker B: All right, so next it's silver's turn.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: Been thinking about this. So she said if I feed her, she won't kill us, she won't attack. Yes, she won't attack. All right, well, I can't do bardic inspiration because no one's within my range.
I can see Temid and I can see the entryway leading outside.
So first action, I'm going to send temid a message with my oyster, which is a cantrip.
[00:15:00] Speaker D: Not this again.
[00:15:04] Speaker C: Didn't I ask last episode if anyone could do that? And the answer was no.
[00:15:08] Speaker A: So I'm going to say to.
And it's one way. So I have to message him and then he can message me back. It's not a mind link.
[00:15:17] Speaker D: I cannot message you back.
[00:15:18] Speaker A: No, you can. But because I can see you, I can message you. Okay.
Because you're a source of light currently.
So I would say.
[00:15:31] Speaker B: Hey.
[00:15:32] Speaker A: All right. Timid. So we got some. Yeah, it's me. I know you hear me as your voice of your conscience, normally, like most people do, but this is silver.
[00:15:43] Speaker C: Hi.
[00:15:44] Speaker A: How's it going?
[00:15:45] Speaker D: More silver and waves.
[00:15:47] Speaker B: Hi.
[00:15:47] Speaker A: More important things.
Her hatchlings that aclo beasts have hatched. And I think there are a couple of swarms in here. So she won't attack if I feed her. Or I can lead them towards. I can run around because it loops and I can lead them towards everybody else's and they have to deal with swarms as we deal with them. What do you all think?
[00:16:12] Speaker D: So I am able to answer you for that.
[00:16:14] Speaker A: You can respond to me.
[00:16:16] Speaker D: My opinion is that we allow them to stay where they are. And we have someone who can specifically deal with swarms.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: Very well.
[00:16:24] Speaker D: My fear is that if they enter this room, they will attack us as well as the others, and in which case, we'll be fighting many, many people all at once.
[00:16:34] Speaker A: Do I get a sense that they're mobilizing the spiders? Yes.
[00:16:38] Speaker D: Spiders are marching one by one.
[00:16:42] Speaker B: You heard skittering, but you don't know exactly where they are and you can't really tell. It's just kind of starting to echo off the walls of the cave.
[00:16:52] Speaker A: That's so creepy.
[00:16:54] Speaker D: Also, he says, come join us.
[00:16:56] Speaker A: Well, I don't know if I feel comfortable leaving my back to these things, so out loud I'll say, all right, we're going to go take care of this half elf lady, and we'll feed you miss.
[00:17:10] Speaker B: Balka.
[00:17:11] Speaker A: Balka.
I'll talk to you later.
[00:17:17] Speaker D: Nice chatting with you.
[00:17:18] Speaker A: And then he's going to move down next to timid, so that'll be his turn.
So message is one action. Yes. And movement is one action. Did you do anything else? I spoke to her. If that's just a free action, I think it's probably free.
[00:17:35] Speaker B: That's free.
[00:17:36] Speaker A: Then I'll do bardic inspiration when I'm down next to Kevin.
[00:17:40] Speaker C: Thanks, Aaron.
[00:17:41] Speaker B: All right.
[00:17:42] Speaker C: You'll love having our bonus.
[00:17:44] Speaker D: I feel so inspired, especially against these.
[00:17:46] Speaker A: People whose acs are really high. Probably the highest we've seen so far. Aside from the dolls. Clearly we know dolls are the worst creatures on the planet.
[00:17:56] Speaker C: That's just a given.
[00:17:57] Speaker A: Creepy doll. Creepy dolls.
[00:17:59] Speaker B: So vase or the elf lady?
[00:18:02] Speaker A: Tricked you.
[00:18:02] Speaker B: Tricked me. Dang. It is going to reach out and touch twin Talon.
[00:18:07] Speaker D: Reach out and touch me.
[00:18:10] Speaker B: Go ahead and make a fort. Safe, please.
[00:18:12] Speaker A: Did she hit me?
[00:18:15] Speaker B: Range touch. Oh, I have to make a regular attack. Okay. Hand.
[00:18:18] Speaker A: It's attacked using her spell attack DC or spell attack bonus, whatever it is.
[00:18:22] Speaker B: Yes.
35.
[00:18:25] Speaker A: I call cheating.
[00:18:27] Speaker B: It's a natural 20 plus her bonus.
[00:18:30] Speaker D: She's got a plus 15 bonus.
[00:18:31] Speaker B: Guys, I know this.
[00:18:32] Speaker D: I figured it out.
[00:18:33] Speaker B: Ugly.
[00:18:34] Speaker A: Okay, that seems unfair, but.
[00:18:35] Speaker B: All right, so that's a critical because it's a natural 20.
[00:18:39] Speaker C: And she is named.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: I think it's what she is.
[00:18:41] Speaker D: A double critical, actually.
[00:18:42] Speaker B: Right.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: Slow down there, talent.
I made a bunch of backup characters.
[00:18:51] Speaker D: Wynn flailin.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: I'm called single talon of one sort. Yes.
[00:18:57] Speaker D: Double hair, double single talent.
[00:18:59] Speaker B: Double single. Okay, so this is magic.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Magic.
If this is an acid bomb or spell.
[00:19:06] Speaker B: This is a spell.
[00:19:08] Speaker A: Is it an acid?
[00:19:09] Speaker B: Oh, no, it is not an acid spell.
[00:19:10] Speaker A: Okay, any other spell deals double damage.
[00:19:13] Speaker B: Okay, so you take. Oh, my goodness. This is not good. Hang on, I need to get my dice out.
[00:19:20] Speaker D: Good thing you have a hero point so you don't die.
[00:19:24] Speaker C: I was hoping to liberate.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: So you can liberate, but it won't negate the attack. But it will negate some of the damage. And that might be life or death.
Clutch.
[00:19:37] Speaker B: All right, this is actually really important.
You are taking with the double damage. Currently 47 hit points.
[00:19:50] Speaker A: Okay.
Liberating will not stop me from falling unconscious.
[00:19:55] Speaker B: But does it instant kill you?
[00:19:58] Speaker A: I am unclear what those rules are.
I don't think so, but I think.
[00:20:03] Speaker C: It'S twice your base hp.
[00:20:04] Speaker D: No, it's massive damage rules.
[00:20:07] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:20:07] Speaker D: You die instantly if you ever take damage equal to or greater than double your maximum hit points in one blow.
[00:20:14] Speaker B: So what is your maximum hit points?
[00:20:16] Speaker C: Hair flip.
[00:20:17] Speaker A: 38.
[00:20:20] Speaker C: Assuming I was like. I'm like, 36.
[00:20:22] Speaker B: You're good. Okay, so you take 47 damage. Oh, God.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: Okay, so I hold your relevant, ready to step in, crumples to the ground. What does everybody see?
[00:20:32] Speaker B: You see? Hang on, I still got to do some more method.
[00:20:35] Speaker A: That was a crit, too.
[00:20:36] Speaker B: Yeah, that's why it was.
[00:20:37] Speaker A: So I'm dying two now.
[00:20:38] Speaker B: Yes. Oh, God.
[00:20:39] Speaker A: Oh, no.
I can't see you, Braden. Okay, well.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
[00:20:45] Speaker A: As he falls down, it's like, die together.
[00:20:47] Speaker B: Not at all.
You see the color drain from twin talon travel up Voss's arm?
[00:20:58] Speaker C: Oh, that bitch.
[00:20:59] Speaker B: And you just see her like, any damage that may have been done, just like, infused, everybody has in her touch, her life force just kind of. His life force just kind of empowers her.
[00:21:11] Speaker A: She's a necromancer.
[00:21:12] Speaker C: Brienna screams, you bitch. Pretty much.
[00:21:19] Speaker B: And then for her last action.
[00:21:22] Speaker D: Anytime anyone says last action, I want to say hero at the end of it.
[00:21:26] Speaker A: I'd like to say I miss attacks of opportunity for spellcasters. Honestly, I was really planning my next round.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: I'm sorry. Not really. So she starts to leave.
[00:21:38] Speaker D: She's leaving, you said?
[00:21:40] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:21:40] Speaker A: Which way did she go?
[00:21:41] Speaker B: To the south, down the tunnel.
[00:21:44] Speaker A: I don't like that at all. I mean, I could follow her.
[00:21:46] Speaker B: Go the other way.
[00:21:48] Speaker D: I've got to move, guys.
[00:21:49] Speaker B: Pond watcher. Goddamn. The skeleton in front of you swings, does a 25 hit with the Scimitar. All right. The scimitar digs into you for six points of damage, followed by a claw. A twelve hit, you miss. And then the last claw, 14 miss. All right, so just the scimitar hits.
[00:22:16] Speaker D: You how does Brienna feel about this? Like, this is someone with a scimitar, a heavy shield.
[00:22:21] Speaker B: She screams armor.
[00:22:22] Speaker D: It's like, almost mirrored. No, but this is kind of like, also really probably fucked up for her.
[00:22:26] Speaker B: To witness as well. Twin Talon, it is your turn. You are at dying too. And thanks to this handy dandy combat pad by piso, I can mark you at dying too.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: Super.
[00:22:40] Speaker D: Thanks, Paizo, for making the dying rule.
[00:22:43] Speaker B: So you need to either spend all of your hero points to avoid death. You can do this when your dying condition would increase, lose the dying condition and stabilize with zero hit points.
[00:22:55] Speaker A: Right.
[00:22:56] Speaker B: Twin Talon, do you want to spend all of your hero points to stabilize? Or would you like to make your ten plus two? So a twelve flat roll.
[00:23:04] Speaker A: I will trust in my party.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:23:07] Speaker A: To not let me die.
[00:23:09] Speaker B: All right, so you need to roll a twelve or higher on a 20 sided die.
I rolled an eleven, so you're at dying three.
[00:23:18] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:23:19] Speaker D: I am pretty sure there's a flat check bonus of 31.
[00:23:24] Speaker B: Great.
[00:23:24] Speaker A: Could I get a one?
One might have been believable.
[00:23:28] Speaker D: Work that in one.
[00:23:30] Speaker B: That's what I said.
So this guy is going to go 510 and swing at Brienna with a scimitar.
16 miss way less. Also miss how much less? It critically fails.
[00:23:52] Speaker C: Okay, but it doesn't matter.
[00:23:53] Speaker B: Yeah, the spider creature in the other room does something.
[00:23:58] Speaker D: Makes us healing potions.
[00:23:59] Speaker B: Yeah, right.
[00:24:00] Speaker A: This is terrifying.
[00:24:02] Speaker B: Great.
[00:24:03] Speaker A: I'm a warm body.
[00:24:04] Speaker B: Let them get away from me. Pond.
[00:24:06] Speaker D: Great idea. We don't need to fight it anymore.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: Pond watcher, you're up.
Twin Talon, no.
Well, whatever.
[00:24:17] Speaker C: I've fallen down.
[00:24:18] Speaker A: You don't care about me anymore, remember?
He's dead.
[00:24:21] Speaker D: You are a weak fighter.
[00:24:23] Speaker A: So magic. Bullshit.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: It was.
[00:24:28] Speaker C: I can make elixirs of life at will.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: I feel.
[00:24:31] Speaker D: Don't worry.
[00:24:32] Speaker A: I can't help him. I don't care about him.
I feel bad because Poundwatcher feels bad because he stepped out of the way and then twin Talon got hit by probably what would have hit him. So he feels really mad about that. And he's going to attack the buff skeleton.
[00:24:50] Speaker B: All right. The buff skeleton as a slash.
[00:24:53] Speaker A: All right, that's not good.
[00:24:57] Speaker B: 13 miss. Just regular miss.
[00:25:00] Speaker D: So is it true that then he did spend his first action to move because the pawn didn't update?
[00:25:06] Speaker B: No, he's right there.
[00:25:08] Speaker A: He's directly next.
[00:25:09] Speaker D: Oh, I'm sorry. That one immediately below him. I apologize.
[00:25:12] Speaker B: That's on fire. Is that a one?
[00:25:14] Speaker A: It was a two.
[00:25:15] Speaker B: Okay, so it's a six. That is a critical miss. We're doing so well.
[00:25:20] Speaker A: I'm going to use a hero point.
[00:25:21] Speaker B: Okay, reroll, take the higher of the two.
[00:25:24] Speaker A: I don't have any chips here.
[00:25:25] Speaker B: Or you have to take the second roll.
[00:25:28] Speaker A: It's a four. So eight.
[00:25:30] Speaker B: Big birth, not a critical miss. Yeah.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: All right, well no, critical miss is good.
[00:25:35] Speaker B: Last action hero.
[00:25:38] Speaker A: I'm rolling again.
[00:25:39] Speaker B: All right, what's the worst that happens?
[00:25:41] Speaker D: Crit fail. I mean it's not a minus one. It's not unlikely that it's going to be a crit fail. It's actually pretty likely.
[00:25:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:48] Speaker A: Well just call being a hero.
[00:25:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Point. Ten miss.
[00:25:53] Speaker A: Good to use a hero point.
[00:25:54] Speaker B: Okay, I have three.
[00:25:56] Speaker A: Now I have one.
[00:25:57] Speaker B: You have one left and you have to take the second roll.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: Ten.
[00:26:04] Speaker B: Still miss.
[00:26:09] Speaker C: Brianna Brienna is suddenly getting these flashes of little utsi and little breeze which for out of character knowledge is what both twin Talon and Brianna were called when they were very little. Both running around the rooftops of Corvosa and she tries her best to pull herself together and moves between on the other side of twin Talon. Wait, hold on. There is a skeleton right there, isn't there? Sorry, I didn't see it move. Leave me where I was. I can still reach twin Talon.
I make it as I am trying to do battle medicine on him. Okay, and remind me with treat wound it's two d eight. Was it?
[00:26:55] Speaker D: It's two d eight, yes. Unless you're an expert, which case it's okay.
[00:27:00] Speaker C: So he gets twelve back.
[00:27:03] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:27:04] Speaker D: Awesome.
[00:27:04] Speaker B: That stabilizes you.
[00:27:06] Speaker D: Wait, so did you hit the 15?
[00:27:07] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:27:08] Speaker D: Okay, great.
[00:27:09] Speaker B: Oh, the good news is when you get knocked down, you get up again.
Don't you go right above Voss or was that the play test? No, knocked out. When you go to zero, you go directly before the creature or effect that reduced you to zero.
[00:27:25] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:27:27] Speaker D: And is it wounded three or is it wounded two? I thought you were down two.
[00:27:30] Speaker A: No, he was three. I never actually would have made that saving throw because she went.
[00:27:36] Speaker B: That's right. So you're at wounded two.
[00:27:38] Speaker A: I would be wounded two.
[00:27:39] Speaker B: Correct. So it gives you more time.
That makes sense. I should read all the rules dying. All right, so that was two actions.
[00:27:47] Speaker C: For my second action or one action.
[00:27:49] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:27:50] Speaker C: I'm going to cast lay on hands on twin Talon.
[00:27:54] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:27:55] Speaker C: Since he is a willing target I hope. Yep, I restore six hit points back.
[00:28:01] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:28:02] Speaker C: Now I'm trying to see how I can get Temad up here safely.
[00:28:06] Speaker D: I do have ranged healing yet.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: Okay, just kill the skeleton right below.
[00:28:10] Speaker D: Right to your south, I will say that the more damage you do, the better what he's going to do next is going to be.
[00:28:17] Speaker C: Yeah. If you kill the skeleton below there, Sora is literally going to take three actions and run after boss. Okay, I'll try my best. She'll kind of weigh between the beefy skeleton that kind of is mirroring her and hopes that her dear friend pawn watcher can hold his own until she clears us.
[00:28:38] Speaker A: Hopefully I'm doing great so far.
[00:28:42] Speaker C: Yes.
Triple damage.
[00:28:48] Speaker D: How much you want to bet? Triple damage?
[00:28:51] Speaker A: So it's slashing, right?
[00:28:53] Speaker B: Yes, triple damage.
[00:28:58] Speaker D: Every time.
[00:28:59] Speaker A: There's no other effects other than murdering skeleton. This is skeleton to the south.
Wait, never mind.
[00:29:06] Speaker B: It just moved there too.
[00:29:08] Speaker C: Well deserved it. For eight times three. For 24 damage, you almost double killed it.
[00:29:18] Speaker B: And Brianna, you have one more action, I believe.
[00:29:21] Speaker C: No.
[00:29:21] Speaker B: All right, temid.
[00:29:23] Speaker D: What temid is going to do is how many hit points is twin town at? Just for my knowledge, it's not going to change what I'm going to do.
[00:29:30] Speaker A: So I can't tell you how many hit points I'm at. I feel like that's meta gaming. However, if I was a pizza with 38 slices, someone would have eaten 20 of them.
[00:29:39] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:29:41] Speaker B: All right.
[00:29:42] Speaker D: It's a great way to put it.
[00:29:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:29:47] Speaker C: I love the metaphors and shit gamers come up with.
[00:29:51] Speaker D: If I was a bag of Doritos.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: My God, he's 20 Pizzas down.
When will be into 38 pieces?
[00:30:00] Speaker D: That's the real crime.
[00:30:02] Speaker C: It's true.
[00:30:03] Speaker B: And it's got to be hard to.
[00:30:04] Speaker D: Cut into 38 like equal slices.
[00:30:08] Speaker A: It's got to be really hard to do temid.
[00:30:10] Speaker D: Okay, so what temid is going to do is he's going to use a three action heal spell to use positive energy. So in second edition, unlike first edition, I don't have to choose whether or not I want to harm enemies or heal my allies.
So I'm going to do both. And it's going to be they get fortitude saves, they get a simple fortitude save. So simple fortitude save or a basic fortitude save. And what that means is they either take half damage on a save crit, save, no damage or fail.
[00:30:42] Speaker B: And how far do you radiate this good 30ft.
[00:30:45] Speaker D: So I get everyone in the room.
[00:30:47] Speaker C: Oh, that means you can kill me too.
[00:30:50] Speaker B: Yeah, I just had to see how far.
[00:30:53] Speaker D: Yeah, no, I did the math already.
[00:30:55] Speaker A: Give me back my hit points.
[00:30:57] Speaker D: Yeah, it doesn't really matter. Also, because I do want to make sure that twin Talon doesn't die.
[00:31:01] Speaker B: Why?
[00:31:02] Speaker D: Because he does lots of damage when it's dark out back.
[00:31:06] Speaker C: Can't you like.
[00:31:07] Speaker A: I'm just trying to up the drama of the podcast.
[00:31:09] Speaker D: Oh, that's right.
[00:31:10] Speaker A: If one of our characters died during the first book, that would be pretty dramatic. Yeah, I was going to just stab him when he was down in the save.
[00:31:18] Speaker B: All right.
All of the willing people don't have to make a save.
[00:31:26] Speaker D: That's correct. Unless they don't want to.
[00:31:28] Speaker B: Okay, so I'm going to roll for my skeleton.
[00:31:31] Speaker D: It is a fortitude save. I think that's against my.
[00:31:37] Speaker B: It's a basic save. It says.
[00:31:39] Speaker D: It says basic save.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: So that would be. I have the basic dcs right here. At what level are you?
[00:31:44] Speaker D: I am level three.
[00:31:45] Speaker B: So a basic save is 18. Okay, so it's my role plus my fort.
[00:31:52] Speaker D: Correct. No. Wait, is it 42? Yes, it is.
[00:31:55] Speaker A: So it doesn't matter what your spell DC is?
[00:31:57] Speaker D: That's what I thought. But my spell DC also happens to be 18.
[00:32:00] Speaker A: Oh, well, let's not worry about it.
[00:32:01] Speaker B: Yeah, that worked out.
[00:32:03] Speaker D: I'm actually really nervous to roll just d eight. Does anybody else want to roll it for me?
[00:32:06] Speaker B: Because.
[00:32:07] Speaker A: No, I would like to do a fair amount of we believe in you. You have to do it yourself.
[00:32:10] Speaker D: Does it have to be a D 20 roll or can I hero point a damage roll?
[00:32:14] Speaker B: All the rule says by the book is to reroll a check, which would be a D 20 check.
[00:32:20] Speaker D: Okay, that's fair. Then. This makes it worse. I want to hear the result of your thing because I'm stalling.
[00:32:26] Speaker B: So the first guard, which is the blue tunic one, rolled. A one.
[00:32:34] Speaker D: Oh, sweet. So it's a crit fail.
[00:32:35] Speaker A: So does it take double damage?
[00:32:37] Speaker D: Let me just pull up my thing about crit. So basic saving throws on a crit failure. You take double damage from the effect. Also, I'm hoping that this holy damage that they're taking or this positive energy is worse for undead creatures, but I can't do a check for that right now.
[00:32:57] Speaker B: I need to know how much what you rolled so I can double damage three. So double damage six.
[00:33:05] Speaker A: I would also like to voluntarily crit fill my fortitude save to get double healing.
[00:33:11] Speaker C: Does it work like that? Can I do that? Aren't you willing, darling?
[00:33:14] Speaker A: Not if I can get six points of healing instead of three.
[00:33:17] Speaker B: The second skeleton guard rolled a two, which is also a critical fail.
[00:33:22] Speaker D: Sweet. Are they weak in any way to it?
[00:33:25] Speaker B: That's a good question.
[00:33:27] Speaker A: I'm going to guess probably not. Just because it.
[00:33:29] Speaker B: No, they're not weak. And then the other two succeed, like, standard success.
[00:33:34] Speaker D: Okay, so three for the others. And everyone else gets three hit points back.
So not much, but I was really expecting it to be eight and then them to be weak against it. And then I'd be like, I have all the power.
[00:33:49] Speaker B: But no, it didn't say three.
[00:33:51] Speaker C: Okay, thank you.
[00:33:53] Speaker D: Wait.
What I pictured in my head to have happened was he sees twin Talon, goes down. He looks at this field full of. Or this room full of undead creatures. And this is being good aligned. This is very much against what he stands for, allowing his ally to be injured. And then also the undead creatures. So he grabs his caden killian kind of little talisman, which is a mug, a little tiny mug on his neck. And then he just kind of like, lets out a scream and just like a pulse of energy goes out in 360 degree sphere around him.
[00:34:36] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:34:37] Speaker B: All right, so now the skeleton guard that is between pond watcher Brienna and the fallen twin talon raises up its scimitar towards twin Talon, as if to do a coup de grace or coup de gras.
Coup.
[00:34:57] Speaker C: There you go.
[00:34:58] Speaker B: And the fire from Soraya's bomb is still, like, lighting it on fire. And it dies before it can attack.
[00:35:06] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:35:08] Speaker B: Damage.
[00:35:09] Speaker D: The scimitar falls and goes right through.
[00:35:11] Speaker B: Yeah, it pierces his hand.
That would be his bow.
The other very strong looking skeleton moves up here and takes a swing at Brianna, who is obviously bad news because she has shining weapons. Does a 20 hit you?
[00:35:33] Speaker C: It does not.
[00:35:34] Speaker B: Yes. Then the claw does a twelve hit you?
[00:35:38] Speaker C: It does not.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: All right, that's its turn. All right, now the tide has turned a little bit. Soraya, you're up.
[00:35:46] Speaker C: I was not kidding. She is going to head right after vase. So that's what, five?
[00:35:52] Speaker A: Oh, wow. She real close.
[00:35:54] Speaker C: Yeah.
So that's a single move.
Puncher, I can. I'm actually trained to that.
[00:36:06] Speaker A: Elf fight. Elf fight.
[00:36:10] Speaker B: Two elves enter, one elf leaves.
[00:36:13] Speaker C: That's really going to be really bad.
[00:36:16] Speaker D: Well, no, she'll just join our party.
[00:36:18] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll just.
[00:36:20] Speaker C: Do I get to play vase at that point?
[00:36:21] Speaker D: She won't have a creepy.
[00:36:22] Speaker A: Depends how well you do.
[00:36:23] Speaker D: She won't have a creepy bird or anything. I don't know.
Look, I'm on the fence.
[00:36:27] Speaker C: The one that's making sure you can all see.
[00:36:30] Speaker B: No, I've got light.
[00:36:31] Speaker A: No, he has light. And I cast light on her.
[00:36:33] Speaker C: That's true. Well, he's got the ever burning torrent.
[00:36:35] Speaker A: Help.
[00:36:35] Speaker C: Well, if that's her right there, I guess I'm going to. Do I tangle foot her or do I just try and hit her?
[00:36:42] Speaker A: What do you hit her with? A lightning?
[00:36:44] Speaker C: I could hit her with lightning. I could hit with fire. I could hit her with acid. I have some options.
[00:36:49] Speaker D: I personally like the idea of the tangle foot just so that it gives us time to come and get her.
[00:36:54] Speaker C: Yeah, it'll slow her down, is the one thing. The acid, however, all of its damage is persistent. So even if she tries to get away, she's constantly taking damage.
[00:37:04] Speaker B: What does your heart tell you?
[00:37:06] Speaker D: Yeah, burn the bitch, then. Burn that.
[00:37:10] Speaker C: We're going to melt the bitch down a little bit.
[00:37:12] Speaker A: You're right next to her. Are there any rules?
[00:37:15] Speaker B: No.
[00:37:16] Speaker A: Into melee or anything like that?
[00:37:17] Speaker B: No, not anymore. They made it easier to do things like that.
[00:37:24] Speaker C: Am I rolling that to 17?
[00:37:26] Speaker A: Good thing you didn't give her that hero point last time.
[00:37:28] Speaker B: Is that a worse roll? Is that a one? Did you?
[00:37:31] Speaker C: Not a one.
[00:37:32] Speaker B: Okay, what's your total?
[00:37:34] Speaker C: 13.
[00:37:36] Speaker B: Not a critical miss, just a miss.
[00:37:38] Speaker C: Well, she still takes two s and splash.
[00:37:40] Speaker B: She does. Let me take that away from twin Talon's hit points that she gave.
[00:37:45] Speaker D: That's exactly how it works.
[00:37:46] Speaker A: We're linked now.
[00:37:47] Speaker B: All right, silver.
[00:37:50] Speaker A: All right. Me, as a player recognizes this might mess with Brianna's head, but I am really afraid of those spider things. So I'm going to first action. Well, I'll extend my bardic inspiration. So, everybody, second action. I'm going to cast light on my guitar.
It will shine forward. So whatever you're shining because it was cast on your shield.
[00:38:13] Speaker C: Are you around the corner? I'm confused.
[00:38:15] Speaker A: I'm on the corner. I'm just holding it there because if a horde of spiders comes out, I want to be able to see it.
[00:38:22] Speaker C: Fair.
[00:38:23] Speaker A: On the bright side, the everybody torch is right there.
[00:38:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: So you can see.
My point is you can see, but if you're a symbol of holiness and hope and then your shield suddenly dies away and your friend, childhood best friend, just almost died.
[00:38:39] Speaker C: Yeah, definitely.
Theatrical moment.
[00:38:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:38:42] Speaker A: So it's not mean. It's just. I'm thinking of spiders.
[00:38:47] Speaker C: You're thinking practically, it's.
[00:38:48] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:38:50] Speaker A: So there. And I can't see twin Talon, so I can't do any healing on him at the moment.
[00:39:00] Speaker D: Do you have any buffing spells that will give me plus 20 to everything?
[00:39:03] Speaker A: I can give you a buffing spell if you want.
[00:39:06] Speaker D: Not really.
I'm not that useful.
[00:39:08] Speaker A: If it's not plus 20, he doesn't want to.
[00:39:11] Speaker D: Plus 19, forget about it.
[00:39:13] Speaker A: Not good enough.
I can see her.
[00:39:18] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:39:19] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:39:20] Speaker B: That's what you see. I've adjusted the lighting source.
[00:39:26] Speaker D: So just to explain this, we're looking down a hallway, and she is, like, just barely within the dim light portion of it. And so all you see is, like, this spider like figure draped in darkness, but you could just barely see it. And I'm going to have a Nightmare. Anwar is going to have a nightmare based on that image alone.
[00:39:43] Speaker C: It's really cool, though.
[00:39:45] Speaker A: Can you collapse the tunnel? Do you have, like, dynamite?
[00:39:47] Speaker C: Can you just screenshot that so we can post that with the visuals?
[00:39:51] Speaker A: I guess. Third action. Fire in the hole. I'm going to move to the other side of tenud, and I'm going to be like, hey, all spiders are coming at us.
[00:40:02] Speaker B: Is that where you want to go?
[00:40:03] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:40:03] Speaker B: All right, so you're just stabbed. Silver neck south of where you were. All right.
[00:40:09] Speaker A: I feel like it's a scooby doo shaggy moment where you guys are climbing over each other to get.
[00:40:17] Speaker B: Twin talon. It is your turn.
[00:40:19] Speaker A: Okay, so did I drop my sword when I went down?
[00:40:22] Speaker B: I'm going to say you just collapsed in a pile and you still have your sword within reach, so you can grab it for free.
[00:40:27] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:28] Speaker B: Like, a quick draw.
[00:40:30] Speaker A: That's not how we handled it when it happened to me, but okay.
[00:40:34] Speaker B: Yours got kicked away.
[00:40:36] Speaker A: It's been different for different people, so that's why I'm asking. Yeah, we should come up with a rule for it. Yeah, I was just getting, like, a uniform.
[00:40:42] Speaker D: No, the rule, from my understanding, is everyone but rich gets the good one and rich gets the bad one.
[00:40:48] Speaker A: Well, if it was on the floor, I would argue I have the quick draw feet.
[00:40:52] Speaker B: Kind of why. Yeah.
[00:40:53] Speaker A: So either way, he's going to lash out at the ankles of the skeleton, who is flat footed to him. Oh, yes, because he's flanking with pond watcher.
[00:41:05] Speaker B: Okay, grid.
[00:41:08] Speaker D: Shit.
[00:41:09] Speaker A: This is not my day.
[00:41:10] Speaker D: Not that type of crit, sweets.
[00:41:12] Speaker A: That was a 14, but I don't think it's a crit fail.
[00:41:15] Speaker B: No, it is not a crit fail.
[00:41:16] Speaker A: I'm going to use a different die for my second attack.
[00:41:20] Speaker B: You're right. Still flat footed.
[00:41:23] Speaker A: Okay, so 21 to hit.
[00:41:26] Speaker B: That will hit.
[00:41:27] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:41:29] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: I don't know what happened. We've moved where we're sending, and my dice are now garbage.
So that's ten damage to the skeleton's ankles on my second attack.
[00:41:40] Speaker B: Okay, still.
Ow. It says somehow. And your third action?
[00:41:46] Speaker A: My third action. I mean, these things seem like their ac is very high. Give them a little kiss.
[00:41:53] Speaker D: I feel like a third attack is almost never make out with it.
[00:41:56] Speaker B: That's an option. Or move away, maybe on the ground. Stand up.
[00:42:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm just going to stand up.
[00:42:03] Speaker B: All right.
[00:42:03] Speaker A: Does that provoke in this edition?
[00:42:05] Speaker B: No.
[00:42:06] Speaker A: Are you sure?
[00:42:07] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:42:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:42:08] Speaker B: Because you're not.
[00:42:10] Speaker A: It's a move or manipulate which is done in a threatened square.
[00:42:13] Speaker B: Oh, so that would cause.
[00:42:14] Speaker A: As much as I don't want twin Talon to die, I'm pretty sure that.
[00:42:17] Speaker B: Would trigger the attack of opportunity. All right, well, I'll take that single attack of opportunity.
[00:42:23] Speaker A: 15 miss.
[00:42:25] Speaker B: All right, just so you know, I'm rolling garbage as well.
[00:42:27] Speaker A: Oh, good.
[00:42:28] Speaker B: Except when I quit.
[00:42:29] Speaker A: Except when you crit and almost murdered me in one hit.
[00:42:31] Speaker B: All right, so now going to Christine.
[00:42:36] Speaker C: Oh, I'm sure vase is coming after me.
[00:42:38] Speaker B: First action.
And second action.
Oh.
Smoke starts to swirl around vase. And there are now three more of her for a total of four.
[00:42:53] Speaker C: Right.
[00:42:54] Speaker B: There are four illusions. She's doing four vases. Four vases.
[00:42:58] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:42:59] Speaker D: I'm going to make that joke.
[00:43:00] Speaker B: And then she is going to stab you.
[00:43:05] Speaker C: Which one stabs me?
[00:43:06] Speaker B: All of them.
[00:43:08] Speaker C: Damn.
[00:43:09] Speaker A: Almost got it.
[00:43:10] Speaker B: Does a 17 hit you?
[00:43:12] Speaker C: No.
[00:43:13] Speaker B: Yeah, 17. No. All right, that's their turn.
[00:43:18] Speaker A: I feel like no matter what your class is, your ac at this level is 20 or 21.
[00:43:22] Speaker B: Pond watcher, 1919.
[00:43:24] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:43:25] Speaker B: A scimitar swings at you.
[00:43:27] Speaker A: It's not like it used to be where it's like 13.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: Can I get a crit card, please?
[00:43:31] Speaker A: Crit fail or success.
[00:43:34] Speaker B: It's a natural 20.
[00:43:35] Speaker A: Not as good. Is this at Pond Watcher?
[00:43:36] Speaker B: You said this is at Pond Watcher with a scimitar. Do you have the ability to do.
[00:43:40] Speaker A: They can crit.
[00:43:41] Speaker B: Oh, no, you're right. They don't get a car.
It is double damage.
[00:43:45] Speaker D: Do you have the ability to do liberating steps?
[00:43:47] Speaker C: I believe so. I haven't taken a reaction.
[00:43:50] Speaker B: 14 points of damage unless I do liberate him. Okay, so nine damage.
[00:43:56] Speaker D: How long are they immune to liberating step for?
[00:43:58] Speaker A: They're not.
[00:43:59] Speaker D: They're not.
[00:44:01] Speaker A: Every turn. She can do it.
[00:44:02] Speaker D: She can do it.
[00:44:02] Speaker A: She gets her reaction back at the beginning of her turn. Every turn. Ow. So I'm going to take the movement. If I can move.
[00:44:09] Speaker B: Yeah, you can. Absolutely.
[00:44:10] Speaker A: I'm going to move three spaces straight down.
[00:44:12] Speaker B: All right.
[00:44:13] Speaker A: And I'll take the attack of opportunity.
[00:44:14] Speaker B: All right, so attack of opportunity against you for 25 to hit with a long sword, which is eight points of damage. Ouch. Skeleton's second action is to move forward and yell at Brianna for helping out her friend. And we'll take a swing for its last action, which will critically miss awesome.
[00:44:40] Speaker C: And his name is Terry. Right.
[00:44:41] Speaker D: He should take a skeleton hold up. It's liberating steps. So are the movements that you're allowing the people to do, are they steps? Because if you do a step, you carefully move 5ft. Unlike most types of movement, stepping doesn't trigger reaction.
[00:44:56] Speaker B: Oh, so then you don't take that attack of opportunity.
[00:44:59] Speaker A: Hooray. I'm adding my hit points back.
[00:45:02] Speaker C: Thank you, Anwar.
[00:45:02] Speaker A: Good call. Good call.
[00:45:04] Speaker B: Thanks.
[00:45:05] Speaker A: I just really want to go.
[00:45:06] Speaker D: That makes sense.
[00:45:06] Speaker A: Tackle vase.
[00:45:07] Speaker D: That reaction is, like, so freaking good.
[00:45:09] Speaker A: Oh, no, it's coming.
[00:45:10] Speaker B: All right.
[00:45:12] Speaker A: Sorry. That was loud.
[00:45:13] Speaker B: Again.
[00:45:13] Speaker C: Sorry.
[00:45:14] Speaker D: All right. I'm the front line, baby.
[00:45:17] Speaker A: Once again, why is our cleric in the front?
[00:45:20] Speaker D: The cleric's in the back. And if we had listened to the cleric, we would have killed this thing already.
[00:45:24] Speaker A: I was with you on that, man.
[00:45:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:45:25] Speaker C: We were literally just looking into this room, and then things got triggered.
[00:45:30] Speaker B: Pond watcher, let me use my really good roll. No, I'm a jerk because the rules say I roll for yourself. To be fair, she still would have beat you even if you use the 20, because she also rolled a 20. And her perception.
[00:45:43] Speaker D: That sounds like a lie to cover up your inability to properly run the game.
[00:45:47] Speaker A: Well, even if she rolled a 20 and she just walked into the room and they're all standing and facing the doorway, there's nothing. And there's.
[00:45:56] Speaker B: She was trying to.
[00:45:56] Speaker D: Pretty sure that's called. You didn't see this.
[00:45:59] Speaker B: That's Jedi mind trick. Anyway, pond watcher, hello. You're up. Okay.
[00:46:05] Speaker A: Wow, what a nice setup. Moving you right before your turn. Yeah, exactly. So I can't see vase right now, but I'm assuming palm Watcher can. Or maybe he can. There's no light in there.
[00:46:17] Speaker B: There is no light in there.
[00:46:18] Speaker A: Son of a gun.
[00:46:19] Speaker D: Well, did she drop a fire one, or was it acid? No, it was acid.
[00:46:22] Speaker A: Well, you can actually see a little bit of her wand sticking into the frame.
[00:46:26] Speaker B: That's true.
[00:46:27] Speaker C: Acid.
[00:46:28] Speaker A: I didn't anticipate this.
[00:46:30] Speaker C: Maybe you can seal them off.
[00:46:33] Speaker A: So I have low light vision and there is light in the room.
[00:46:36] Speaker B: That so you.
[00:46:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll say.
[00:46:38] Speaker B: You can see her because you can.
[00:46:40] Speaker A: See part of her. I mean, if I can see her at all, I'm going to run in there.
[00:46:44] Speaker D: I think you can also see the way that Sareia is facing.
[00:46:47] Speaker C: There's no facing him.
[00:46:49] Speaker A: So I'm going to get right next to her. That's accurate.
[00:46:53] Speaker C: I know.
[00:46:56] Speaker A: Strike at her with me Halberdi.
[00:46:58] Speaker B: Me your halberdi.
[00:47:00] Speaker C: Are there still four? Actually good.
[00:47:02] Speaker A: 25.
[00:47:03] Speaker B: Okay, that will hit maybe. But now with mirror image.
[00:47:08] Speaker C: Oh, do you have to roll?
[00:47:09] Speaker B: There is a one in four chance. One on a D four. So would you like me to roll the D four or would you like to roll a D four?
[00:47:15] Speaker A: So I need to get a one?
[00:47:16] Speaker B: You need to get a one.
[00:47:17] Speaker A: And then I'm going to roll it for the one time.
[00:47:25] Speaker D: It's not that you roll low, it's that we all roll opposite of what we want.
[00:47:30] Speaker B: All right. So you remove an image on your first attack. Foul magic. You can make his third attack roll.
[00:47:39] Speaker A: Second.
[00:47:40] Speaker B: He moved. Oh, yeah. Second attack, third action.
[00:47:43] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I'm going to go for it.
[00:47:44] Speaker B: All right.
[00:47:45] Speaker A: And he's going to repeat an elven betrayer.
[00:47:49] Speaker D: All this elven on elven crime.
[00:47:53] Speaker B: That face.
Eight.
That is a critical miss.
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Do you have a hero point left that you want to use?
No. All right, funny bone.
You drop one item you're holding determined randomly by the GM.
[00:48:15] Speaker B: So you're only holding your Halbert so it drops to the ground.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: He just sighs AngRIlY SiGHS Brienna, your turn.
[00:48:26] Speaker C: So let's backtrack a bit because drama, Brianna seeing that twin Talon is coming too and also being his feisty self and poking ankles. She'll turn and start to swing at the skeleton in front of her and then the light just changes in front of her. She's like a bit disoriented a moment, yet powers down her shield. Powers down.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: Powering. Hits it a couple of times, taps it like.
[00:48:54] Speaker A: Did you turn it off and turn.
[00:48:56] Speaker C: It back on again?
[00:48:57] Speaker B: You need to get those energizer batteries.
[00:48:59] Speaker D: She turned it off.
[00:49:02] Speaker C: Sorry, doesn't usually happen. Who are you attacking? The buff skeleton.
[00:49:07] Speaker B: The buff skeleton. Let's call those skeletal champions for.
[00:49:11] Speaker A: Ooh. Champion versus skeletal champion.
[00:49:14] Speaker C: Champion on champion action.
[00:49:15] Speaker D: Two champions in one champion. That's not as good.
[00:49:20] Speaker B: 20.
[00:49:22] Speaker A: See the face?
[00:49:23] Speaker B: So Ahaya tends to strike like the wonder woman pose when she rolls a natural 20.
[00:49:28] Speaker D: So pretty much every role that she does, she strikes it.
[00:49:31] Speaker C: No, not every role. Take that, champion.
[00:49:35] Speaker B: All right, how much?
[00:49:36] Speaker C: Sorry, wait a second.
Stop it. Stop it. That's my special die flashing.
[00:49:43] Speaker A: So this is the worst critical you've ever gotten.
The target is flat footed until the end of his next turn, which means you also do double damage. My point is it's not triple damage this time.
[00:49:53] Speaker C: Oh, I didn't roll very well for the damage anyway.
4567.
[00:50:00] Speaker B: So 14 damage and you slice its head off and the rest of the body crumples to the ground.
[00:50:07] Speaker C: Excellent.
She is feeling serenre, let's say. So I'm going to swing at the other skeleton, the non champion one.
[00:50:17] Speaker B: All right.
[00:50:17] Speaker C: Since this is one of her. Oh, she has to get rid of them all.
17 on a die.
22 that'll hit.
[00:50:28] Speaker B: Excellent. That'll do, sir, disrupting scimitar is no joke.
[00:50:33] Speaker C: No kidding. Okay, so since this is a scimitar, the next time it does more damage? Apparently, yes.
[00:50:42] Speaker A: Every hit does one more damage than hit before. In around.
[00:50:44] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:50:46] Speaker C: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 damage on the regular skeleton.
[00:50:54] Speaker A: He did, he did, he did.
[00:50:57] Speaker C: As a free action. Can I, like, hug twin talon?
[00:51:01] Speaker B: Yes, I will let you hug.
[00:51:02] Speaker C: Thank you.
[00:51:03] Speaker B: Hug your friend for free.
[00:51:04] Speaker C: Okay. She'll hug him, take a deep breath and then start heading down the hall to see if she can.
[00:51:09] Speaker B: Which hall?
[00:51:11] Speaker C: Silver did say that there was a spider coming up the rear, wasn't it?
[00:51:15] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:51:15] Speaker D: You also see timid, like terrified Laguna.
[00:51:19] Speaker C: All right, she'll go up the front.
You keep going. I'll hold her off as best I can.
[00:51:25] Speaker B: All right, which way are you headed? To the north or to Shalob, as.
[00:51:28] Speaker C: I'm going to call her? Yes.
[00:51:30] Speaker B: 510 shut. 25.
[00:51:34] Speaker C: Yes.
No. 2020. I can.
[00:51:37] Speaker B: 20.
[00:51:37] Speaker C: All right, shoot.
[00:51:38] Speaker B: And you're squeezing right there. It's just a minus two to your ac.
[00:51:42] Speaker C: Okay, that's fine.
[00:51:44] Speaker B: All right, it's not but timid.
[00:51:46] Speaker C: And I'll raise my shield.
[00:51:47] Speaker B: That's an action.
[00:51:48] Speaker D: So timid is going to.
[00:51:49] Speaker B: Oh, it is.
[00:51:49] Speaker C: Sorry.
[00:51:50] Speaker D: Look at this creature.
[00:51:51] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:51:52] Speaker D: And he's going to want to. I mean, is there a way for him to tell if it is aggressive?
[00:52:00] Speaker B: You can tell by its movements from previously. Like, last time you saw it, it was like, give me food. And it was kind of chill. This time it's like, I'm hungry, I'm moving to eat you.
[00:52:11] Speaker D: Okay, so it is a. He wanted to kill this thing anyway, so he's got no problem with what he's about to do.
[00:52:16] Speaker B: Justification.
[00:52:20] Speaker D: I would like you to roll a six eyed die.
[00:52:24] Speaker B: Why?
[00:52:25] Speaker D: Just do it.
[00:52:26] Speaker C: Oh, dear.
[00:52:28] Speaker B: Four, boss.
[00:52:29] Speaker D: 1234. I'm going to use this. Dot, I believe in you. I've been rolling very poorly and I need to do whatever I possibly can in order for me to not roll as poorly as I. All right, so he's going to just start off by making an attack against this thing.
[00:52:47] Speaker B: Lovely.
[00:52:48] Speaker D: And he's going to swing and I'm stalling.
[00:52:52] Speaker A: Do you have any hero points?
[00:52:55] Speaker D: So I rolled the natural one and then I threw a hero point at.
[00:52:59] Speaker B: Threw a hip point at me.
[00:53:00] Speaker D: Unfortunately, he looked up and I didn't get to hit him in the head.
[00:53:02] Speaker B: But I caught it. I caught that one.
[00:53:04] Speaker D: I'm actually now going to use this beautifully donated die. You're welcome.
[00:53:08] Speaker B: And I will roll another one.
[00:53:11] Speaker D: Roll 1222 to hit.
[00:53:13] Speaker B: That will hit.
[00:53:15] Speaker D: That's right.
[00:53:16] Speaker A: Is this your emblazoned rapier?
[00:53:18] Speaker D: This is my emblazoned rapier.
And I do six, seven points of damage. So he was about to miss, but something guided him because he's attacking something evil and it allowed him to hit in the carapace of this fat, stupid, ugly spider cricket bitch.
[00:53:43] Speaker B: That was real aggressive. For no reason, he attacked.
[00:53:47] Speaker D: What do you mean for no reason?
[00:53:48] Speaker B: It's done nothing. Now you've attacked it, now you've made it angry.
[00:53:56] Speaker D: Okay, so unfortunately his other spell is.
One spell that I wanted to use in this situation is a burst effect and it would probably hurt many people. And it is two d, ten damage. So I'm just going to attack twin talon.
[00:54:11] Speaker B: Take it.
[00:54:16] Speaker D: Shit. And eleven will miss. All right, so he swings again and this time his luck kind of runs out and he just kind of swings underneath one of its arms as it's trying to kind of write itself from the last hit. And then he casts shield upon himself so that a shield appears in front of him that looks like two kegs put together to kind of form like a single shield.
And it's also considered raised as well. So it adds plus one to his ac. And until the start of his next turn, it doesn't require handy use. And unless I use it as a block to block, I can cast it again.
[00:55:01] Speaker B: Next turn. All right, so now Brianna. Oh, no.
[00:55:06] Speaker C: Yes. Hello.
[00:55:07] Speaker B: Hi.
[00:55:07] Speaker C: What's up?
[00:55:08] Speaker B: How are you doing?
[00:55:09] Speaker C: Well, a bit nervous since my ac is too low.
[00:55:13] Speaker A: I don't think it matters with sewer, with swarms.
[00:55:16] Speaker B: Yes. So you're going to take one d, four points of damage.
[00:55:20] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:55:20] Speaker B: Four points.
[00:55:22] Speaker C: Right. I'll take it.
[00:55:23] Speaker A: It's probably the first time you've been hit this combat though.
[00:55:26] Speaker C: Yes, that is true. No. Yes.
[00:55:29] Speaker B: I need you.
[00:55:29] Speaker C: Give me a minute.
[00:55:30] Speaker B: Fortitude, DC. Where's fortitude? Safe. It's a swarm. Or it's a swarm.
The thing on top of Brianna's.
[00:55:36] Speaker A: It's babies.
[00:55:37] Speaker D: Oh, I'm sorry. I guess I don't see that.
[00:55:40] Speaker B: Okay, 15.
You're good?
Yeah.
[00:55:43] Speaker D: Good.
[00:55:44] Speaker B: Second action. Take one more point of damage.
[00:55:47] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:55:47] Speaker B: Make another save.
[00:55:49] Speaker C: Okay.
It's a bit better.
Twelve.
Sorry. 22.
[00:55:57] Speaker B: 22.
[00:55:57] Speaker D: She starts speaking tongues.
[00:55:59] Speaker B: Yeah, you're fine. What?
[00:56:01] Speaker C: The other direction.
[00:56:05] Speaker D: It's been coming around this whole time?
[00:56:06] Speaker B: Take three points of damage. Twin Talon.
[00:56:09] Speaker A: I pass. No, for the listeners, a second swarm came around the other side of the cave. And it has latched itself onto twin.
[00:56:20] Speaker D: You could almost say it's been coming.
[00:56:22] Speaker C: Around the mountain when they come.
We're 15ft apart. No.
[00:56:28] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:56:30] Speaker A: I think you're 20ft.
[00:56:31] Speaker B: 510. 1520. Yes.
[00:56:33] Speaker C: Never mind.
[00:56:34] Speaker B: And then can you make a fortitude.
[00:56:35] Speaker C: Save for me, please?
[00:56:36] Speaker B: Sir?
[00:56:36] Speaker D: If it goes diagonal, that's actually 15.
[00:56:39] Speaker B: But through the wall, it's magic.
[00:56:44] Speaker A: I think you still have to have line of effect. So if Sean says you can't see me.
[00:56:46] Speaker C: It does not say that. In liberating.
[00:56:49] Speaker D: I thought everything needs line of effect.
[00:56:51] Speaker A: That's just like a general all things rule.
[00:56:54] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't think you can save him without seeing him.
[00:56:56] Speaker A: I would love to not take this damage, but.
[00:56:59] Speaker B: Hey, look, it's not that much. It's only three points. And then can you make a fortitude save for me, please?
[00:57:04] Speaker D: Yes.
The unfortunate thing right now is that our alchemist is not in this.
[00:57:11] Speaker A: She's being a good, smart lion fighter.
[00:57:13] Speaker B: You're fine, Soraya. It is your turn.
[00:57:16] Speaker C: Soraya. Swap with just like.
[00:57:20] Speaker A: I mean, twin talon might call that out. It was like swarms.
[00:57:23] Speaker D: I think that's a good idea. Hopefully that actually works.
[00:57:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:57:27] Speaker A: Can you use your turn to construct some sort of thing that makes additional pylon not drop my weapon every 2 seconds?
[00:57:34] Speaker C: You know what she's actually going to do?
[00:57:35] Speaker B: No, what?
[00:57:36] Speaker C: She's going to hurl an acid bomb at vase. Okay, try that one more time.
[00:57:41] Speaker B: Acid lightning or acid acid. Got you.
[00:57:44] Speaker C: Acid lightning or in rain.
[00:57:45] Speaker A: That's the name.
[00:57:46] Speaker C: 23.
[00:57:48] Speaker B: That'll hit now.
[00:57:49] Speaker C: Thanks.
[00:57:50] Speaker B: Wait.
Mirror images.
[00:57:53] Speaker A: Mirror images.
[00:57:54] Speaker D: No, wait.
[00:57:55] Speaker B: Oh, no. Yeah, they're on the splash, right?
[00:57:58] Speaker A: No, it's a targeted.
[00:57:59] Speaker C: Targeted. The splash will hit all of them.
[00:58:04] Speaker B: Give me a roll one d six.
[00:58:06] Speaker A: That depends on the version of mirror.
[00:58:08] Speaker C: Do you want me just roll?
[00:58:09] Speaker B: No. Roll one d six.
Oh, you have a d three?
[00:58:13] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:58:14] Speaker B: Then you need a one.
[00:58:15] Speaker C: By the way, what does it look like? It's like a little triangle with rounded edges.
It was a one.
Sorry, I'm very excited. I get to be used.
[00:58:34] Speaker B: It was a one.
[00:58:35] Speaker C: It was a one. Okay, so it's two d six. Persistent.
[00:58:39] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:58:40] Speaker B: Wait. Two d six plus persistent.
[00:58:42] Speaker C: Or there's ten persistent damage.
[00:58:45] Speaker D: Holy shit.
[00:58:46] Speaker A: Now.
[00:58:47] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:58:47] Speaker C: Array.
[00:58:48] Speaker A: I think it's two d, six per round. Yeah, I think it's two d, six per round. I don't think it's ten.
[00:58:51] Speaker C: The bomb deals two d, six persistent acid damage and two acid splash damage.
[00:58:55] Speaker A: Yeah, I think you might have to reroll it. Every round?
[00:58:58] Speaker C: Yeah, every round. She takes two d, six.
[00:59:01] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:59:01] Speaker B: Got you.
[00:59:02] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:59:03] Speaker D: One thing about the mirrored.
[00:59:04] Speaker C: To start.
[00:59:05] Speaker D: I'm sorry. One thing about the mirrored image though. It says once an image is hit, I don't know if that counts as like being targeted and being hit or just taking damage.
[00:59:13] Speaker B: I'm going to say taking damage.
[00:59:15] Speaker C: Yeah. So they all take.
[00:59:16] Speaker B: They all take two splash. So the mirror images are gone. Nice. That was your first action. That was amazing. You know what, look.
[00:59:24] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:59:25] Speaker B: Hero point passed out. I'm remembering now. Guys, that was clutch.
[00:59:30] Speaker C: She is now going to yank another unmade thing off of her bandolier, shake it and chuck it up the hallway at twin Talon.
[00:59:39] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:59:40] Speaker C: Because that's within 20ft and that's the standard range.
[00:59:42] Speaker B: All right, Nat?
[00:59:45] Speaker C: 20.
[00:59:45] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:59:47] Speaker C: 23.
[00:59:48] Speaker B: All right, that'll hit.
[00:59:49] Speaker A: You're hitting twin Talon.
[00:59:50] Speaker B: I'm hitting the spark, the swarm.
[00:59:52] Speaker D: But you're able to directionally right now.
[00:59:55] Speaker A: How are the rules applied? I don't want to be this guy, but if it's a swarm covering your whole square, can she target square?
[01:00:02] Speaker C: That's how I did it.
[01:00:04] Speaker A: She is a bomber. Meaning she can target what I want. People basically are affected in the area.
[01:00:09] Speaker B: Yeah. And so how much? Yeah, what happens?
[01:00:12] Speaker C: So that was fire. Give me 1 second.
[01:00:15] Speaker D: That was fire.
[01:00:17] Speaker C: That was fire.
They all do slightly different things.
[01:00:21] Speaker B: Ranged.
[01:00:21] Speaker D: No, I mean that was fire range.
[01:00:23] Speaker C: Yes. We have decided we're doing ranged.
[01:00:25] Speaker A: That's not an option. So it's bomb or it specifically says bomb on cool. On the critical hits, it has a bomb one.
[01:00:31] Speaker B: Oh, great. What does it say?
[01:00:32] Speaker A: Normal damage. The target is slowed one until healed.
[01:00:36] Speaker C: Okay, so normal damage, which is still two d. Eight. Where's my other d?
[01:00:41] Speaker D: That's a shitty, shitty crit.
[01:00:42] Speaker C: It is a shitty, shitty crit. I'm sad.
[01:00:44] Speaker A: Well, it means it can only attack me twice. Twice instead of three times.
[01:00:47] Speaker B: Well, and you might be able to go before it, so you can move away.
[01:00:50] Speaker A: I hope I can go since it already has attacked me once since I went.
[01:00:53] Speaker C: Okay, so that is one. So that's seven fire damage. Two, persistent fire, two fire.
[01:01:01] Speaker B: Splash. So you know what's really bad for me?
They're weak to splash damage and area damage.
[01:01:11] Speaker C: Oh, interesting.
[01:01:13] Speaker B: So you did how much damage seven.
[01:01:15] Speaker C: Seven plus two. Plus two.
[01:01:17] Speaker B: Plus what? They're weak to. They're week five. Just so you know.
[01:01:21] Speaker C: 16.
[01:01:24] Speaker B: There's no more spiders on twin Talon.
[01:01:26] Speaker C: I had a really good turn, guys. Well done.
[01:01:30] Speaker B: Silver. Your turn.
[01:01:32] Speaker C: It's like the best turn I've ever had.
[01:01:33] Speaker A: Okay. Silver is going to look over at twin Talon, who looks like a little worse for wear.
[01:01:42] Speaker B: Just a bit.
[01:01:43] Speaker A: Just a bit.
[01:01:44] Speaker B: And now there's dead popping spiders all over him.
[01:01:48] Speaker A: You know what? That's the best thing that's happened to me so far. In this case.
[01:01:52] Speaker C: You feel a little warm. That's about it.
[01:01:54] Speaker A: I need kind of our other than being healed from being unconscious.
[01:01:59] Speaker C: Yeah, that was pretty good.
[01:02:00] Speaker D: You're welcome.
[01:02:01] Speaker A: And he's going to look at you and he's going to cast a healing spell on you because he can see you. Yay. This is my signature spell.
[01:02:11] Speaker B: Oh, what does that mean? We've never actually talked about that.
[01:02:14] Speaker A: So bards get a little effect every spell level they know they can choose one that they just know better than anything else. It's their signature spell. So they always cast it at a heightened level.
[01:02:26] Speaker D: Awesome.
[01:02:27] Speaker B: That's really good.
[01:02:28] Speaker A: Yes. They always cast it at the max level of spell they could cast. Yes, that is what it is.
[01:02:34] Speaker B: Yeah, that's cool. That's going to be helpful for healing.
[01:02:37] Speaker A: Very much so. Okay.
[01:02:38] Speaker D: He's a better healer than I am at this point.
[01:02:40] Speaker B: That doesn't.
[01:02:40] Speaker D: First.
[01:02:43] Speaker A: Doing some quick math.
[01:02:45] Speaker D: I quit the pocket.
[01:02:46] Speaker A: 25 hit points back. Nice.
[01:02:48] Speaker B: So you heal for 25, twin.
[01:02:50] Speaker A: Thank you. I'd also like to step in the wayback machine.
There was a spell in third edition dungeons and dragons called Easy Math. It was in a barred only spell. What it allowed you to do was like look at a dragon horde and be like, 4297 copper. I missed that spell. That's my whole rant about that.
[01:03:07] Speaker B: Okay, great, but take your healing. So that was your first action syllable.
[01:03:10] Speaker A: That's two actions.
[01:03:11] Speaker B: Two actions.
[01:03:12] Speaker A: He is topped off. And then I'm going to.
[01:03:14] Speaker D: It's been a good round so far.
[01:03:16] Speaker A: Continue my bardic inspiration.
[01:03:17] Speaker B: Great. Twin Talon, now that you've been topped off, no longer have spiders crawling everywhere.
It's your turn.
[01:03:25] Speaker A: Twin Talon will look at silver and timid.
[01:03:27] Speaker B: Okay, that was your first action. Next.
[01:03:32] Speaker A: It was a heavy look.
[01:03:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:03:36] Speaker A: He'll shout out like, keep her up. And then he will take off to the south.
[01:03:41] Speaker B: Good move.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: You move 25, I move 25. Technically that will get me onto pond watcher space, which you can't do. So I will continue to move. Basically take a double move so that I end up on the opposite side of vase from.
[01:03:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:03:55] Speaker C: And you have the torch still so.
[01:03:57] Speaker B: I can see better.
[01:03:58] Speaker A: Yeah. That explains why I dropped my weapon again.
[01:04:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
So that's what you see, obviously. And your third action is to give vase a hug. Yes.
[01:04:10] Speaker A: I'm going to give her a hug with my sword in her ribs.
[01:04:13] Speaker B: Oh, jeez. All right, dice, here we go.
[01:04:19] Speaker A: So that is a 27.
[01:04:23] Speaker B: That will hit.
[01:04:25] Speaker A: Would a 28 crit?
[01:04:28] Speaker B: No.
[01:04:28] Speaker A: Okay. Because I forgot silver's no thing.
[01:04:31] Speaker B: Okay. No.
[01:04:32] Speaker A: Okay, well, I'll take the.
[01:04:34] Speaker B: But you hit.
[01:04:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:04:39] Speaker A: All right, this looks more like my damage. All right, so that's 12, 16, 17 damage.
As he runs around and catches her off guard, he brings a short sword across her back.
[01:04:53] Speaker B: Awesome. She lets out a scream. Unhappy with that, it is now her turn. Would you like to roll two d six persistent damage on her.
[01:05:01] Speaker C: Oh, please do another ten damage.
[01:05:04] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Nice.
[01:05:06] Speaker B: That's so she is not looking good at this.
[01:05:09] Speaker D: She's aging gracefully.
[01:05:10] Speaker C: I think.
[01:05:12] Speaker B: So she is going to move away.
[01:05:17] Speaker A: How is she going to do that?
[01:05:18] Speaker B: She's going to attempt to tumble through using athletics.
[01:05:23] Speaker A: Athletics.
[01:05:25] Speaker B: Acrobatics. Yes.
[01:05:27] Speaker A: Acrobatics.
[01:05:27] Speaker D: I use acrobatics.
[01:05:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, I don't have acrobatics.
[01:05:32] Speaker D: Is it trained?
[01:05:33] Speaker B: Is it trained?
[01:05:33] Speaker A: It is not.
[01:05:34] Speaker B: Okay, so she can just roll.
[01:05:36] Speaker A: It is called tumble through. You stride up to your speed. During this movement, you can try to move through the space of one enemy. Attempt an acrobatics check against the enemy's reflex DC.
[01:05:46] Speaker B: So what is your reflex DC? It's ten plus your reflex modifier.
It doesn't matter. I roll the one so she stops right where she is. Nice try. Then she is going to.
[01:05:59] Speaker A: I'm fully blocking the hallway behind her.
[01:06:02] Speaker D: Wait until that swarm comes up from behind you.
[01:06:04] Speaker A: Yeah, it's going to be bad.
[01:06:05] Speaker B: Oh, she is in a bad spot.
[01:06:08] Speaker A: To be fair, she could just keep doing it.
[01:06:10] Speaker B: But each one is an action, right? Yeah.
[01:06:12] Speaker D: Okay, well, she's got no other options.
[01:06:14] Speaker B: Yeah, she's going to try it one more time.
[01:06:16] Speaker A: She could pick up my halberd. She could.
[01:06:18] Speaker D: That would be so funny.
[01:06:20] Speaker A: Fail.
[01:06:20] Speaker B: Okay, then her last action is to stab twin talon with her dagger.
[01:06:28] Speaker D: Oh, man, this crit is going to be so bad.
[01:06:30] Speaker B: 24.
[01:06:33] Speaker A: First of all, Anwar, shut up. Secondly, that's a hit, not a crit.
[01:06:37] Speaker B: Okay? It's 1d.
Takes seven points of damage as she stabs you with this dagger.
[01:06:43] Speaker A: Does she say anything? Has she said anything?
[01:06:45] Speaker B: Not. No, but she's now going to say, let me go.
[01:06:50] Speaker A: No high drama.
No.
[01:06:57] Speaker B: All right. Timid.
[01:06:58] Speaker A: I'm not going to do that.
[01:06:59] Speaker D: All right.
[01:07:00] Speaker B: No, it's not your turn.
No. Suddenly a tongue whips out from this spider like creature.
[01:07:08] Speaker C: Do not consent.
[01:07:09] Speaker B: I thought it was a tie.
Does a 22 hit, you got your shield up.
[01:07:15] Speaker D: I do have my shield up. However, it is, my ac is 21.
[01:07:19] Speaker B: Great.
[01:07:20] Speaker D: So I am going to the podcast.
[01:07:25] Speaker A: No. In the history of every time he's used his shield, he immediately will use it to shield block. Yeah, I'm assuming.
[01:07:30] Speaker B: All right.
[01:07:30] Speaker D: Right. And this is a shield spell, so I don't really care if it disappears forever.
[01:07:34] Speaker B: So now shield block, you are flowed one as the tongue wraps around you.
[01:07:39] Speaker D: Oh, wait, does this do damage or no. Okay, then I'm not going to use.
[01:07:42] Speaker B: Shield block flowing you one.
[01:07:44] Speaker C: Don't forget it can flow you wrapped around and it can wrapped around.
It's grappling.
[01:07:50] Speaker B: It's technically a grapple. Yeah.
[01:07:52] Speaker D: Are you saying that I'm in a position where I could be liberated?
[01:07:56] Speaker C: Correct.
So you can attempt to break free of the effects.
[01:08:00] Speaker D: Oh, I can attempt to. Okay, that's not going to go well.
[01:08:03] Speaker C: But you free an ally from restraint. If the trigger was an ally taking damage, the ally gains resistance to all damage against the triggering damage equal to two plus your level. The ally can attempt to break free of the effects of grabbing, restraining, immobilizing or paralyzing them. They either attempt a new save against one such effect that allows a save, or attempts to escape from one effect as a free action.
[01:08:27] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:08:28] Speaker C: If they can move, the ally can step as a free action.
[01:08:31] Speaker B: So you can attempt to break free.
[01:08:33] Speaker D: All right, so what am I using to break free? Is it athletics?
[01:08:36] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:08:37] Speaker C: Escape, apparently.
[01:08:39] Speaker A: Right. So I think you can either use acrobatics or athletics. Or athletics.
[01:08:44] Speaker D: Athletics is slightly higher for me. I don't know why, actually. I'm a dexterity based character, but this is how it is.
[01:08:50] Speaker C: And just letting you know that there is a little t to that called unimpeded step. If once you break free, you're unaffected by difficult terrain, greater difficult terrain, narrow surfaces or uneven ground. And I believe should you move.
[01:09:04] Speaker D: Yeah, you'll be narrow. I mean, I really hope this works because I'm going to go ahead and flank immediately.
[01:09:10] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:09:10] Speaker D: All right. But however, is there a bonus to my role at all? Did you see that?
[01:09:15] Speaker B: No, there is no bonus.
[01:09:16] Speaker D: There is no bonus.
[01:09:17] Speaker A: I believe her thing gives you a plus four bonus.
[01:09:18] Speaker B: Oh, it does?
[01:09:19] Speaker C: I think that's only two undead creatures.
[01:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah. So make that roll 18 DC by level 18. So you get out of the tongue.
[01:09:31] Speaker D: All right. No tongue for me. And then also, then I will allow the liberating sep to move me and I will move myself so that I am flanking it with Brianna.
[01:09:44] Speaker B: All right.
[01:09:44] Speaker D: That's not flanking.
[01:09:45] Speaker A: You can move two spaces.
[01:09:47] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:09:48] Speaker D: Isn't that also two?
[01:09:49] Speaker B: Two, yeah. You can't go through its square. It's a hostile enemy. But you can move behind it and then on your turn, you can move.
[01:09:56] Speaker D: Okay, great.
[01:09:57] Speaker B: So on its second action, it's going to shoot a leg out at Brianna. Rude for being helpful.
Does a 16 hit.
[01:10:10] Speaker C: No, it does not.
[01:10:11] Speaker B: All right. And then the last action is to take a bite at temid because it really wanted to eat you.
[01:10:19] Speaker D: My shield is still up.
[01:10:20] Speaker B: Natural 20.
[01:10:22] Speaker D: Well, I do raise it because I.
[01:10:24] Speaker B: Want to eliminate, but since it's the third action, it might.
[01:10:28] Speaker D: 21 is my ac, so it just.
[01:10:31] Speaker B: Is a regular hit.
[01:10:32] Speaker D: Oh, sweet. It doesn't. Okay, awesome.
[01:10:35] Speaker B: Because I need to still.
[01:10:36] Speaker A: You'll still need to hit it.
[01:10:37] Speaker B: Hit it regular.
[01:10:38] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm still going to raise my shield.
[01:10:39] Speaker B: Great.
[01:10:40] Speaker D: I mean like block a shield.
[01:10:41] Speaker A: Block it.
[01:10:42] Speaker B: Yeah. You might want to take seven damage. That's already with the five.
[01:10:46] Speaker D: Okay. So I actually take seven, goes through.
[01:10:49] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:10:50] Speaker D: All right, that's cool.
[01:10:51] Speaker B: Excellent. Pond watcher getter, it's your turn.
[01:10:56] Speaker A: Hey, getter.
[01:10:57] Speaker B: Ray.
[01:10:58] Speaker A: Pond Watcher is going to pick up his halbert.
[01:11:01] Speaker B: First action.
[01:11:02] Speaker D: I like it.
[01:11:02] Speaker A: Second action, Pond watcher is going to use furious finish.
[01:11:09] Speaker D: This is one where you would want to use a hero point at the end.
[01:11:13] Speaker A: I have one left. This is round four of combat.
[01:11:17] Speaker B: Correct.
[01:11:17] Speaker A: Which means I have six rounds of rage left. Nice.
[01:11:21] Speaker D: So get her that plus six damage then. Oh, man, that's sweet.
[01:11:26] Speaker A: What you got?
[01:11:27] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:11:28] Speaker A: 27.
[01:11:29] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:11:30] Speaker C: 18 on the die.
[01:11:31] Speaker B: That will.
[01:11:32] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:11:33] Speaker B: Hit. Yes.
[01:11:36] Speaker A: Her ac attack is so high.
[01:11:38] Speaker B: They are very high.
[01:11:40] Speaker A: 25 points of damage.
[01:11:42] Speaker B: Take her out.
[01:11:43] Speaker A: So he raises his Halbert up and he just screams out and swings it down at her head as hard as he can. And all the ice shoots out of.
[01:11:50] Speaker B: His body through the weapon.
[01:11:51] Speaker C: Hard.
[01:11:52] Speaker D: Come on, put the x on her.
[01:11:53] Speaker C: Yes, that's true. Sorry.
[01:11:55] Speaker B: You kill her.
[01:11:56] Speaker C: Yes. Well done.
[01:11:59] Speaker D: I guess we could have asked her for information, but.
[01:12:01] Speaker C: Nah.
[01:12:02] Speaker B: All right, Brienna.
[01:12:04] Speaker A: I'm not done.
[01:12:05] Speaker B: Oh, no, you're not. That was your first action. First action. Yep.
[01:12:08] Speaker C: Second.
[01:12:11] Speaker A: No, that was my second action because.
[01:12:13] Speaker B: I picked up my. Oh, yeah. Second action. Third action.
[01:12:15] Speaker A: I'm going to move 30ft back up.
[01:12:19] Speaker B: To the other battle run.
[01:12:23] Speaker A: I am now fatigued. My rage has ended.
[01:12:26] Speaker B: You're there with diagonals and stuff. All right, Brianna, there's still swarms on me. Oh, yeah?
[01:12:34] Speaker C: Can I move with them on me? Yes. Right.
[01:12:36] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[01:12:37] Speaker C: I see that pond watcher is coming up, so I'm going to try and tumble through.
[01:12:44] Speaker B: Okay. Make an athletics check.
[01:12:46] Speaker A: Acrobatics.
[01:12:47] Speaker B: Acrobatics check. And it's versus the DC of reflex. DC reflex.
[01:12:52] Speaker C: DC 13.
[01:12:54] Speaker B: This thing is big. You get through it.
[01:12:57] Speaker C: Oh, wow.
[01:12:58] Speaker A: It's reflex Avis. Very low. It is with area of expels.
[01:13:02] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:13:03] Speaker C: All of our.
The swarm comes with me, right? No, they're on me.
[01:13:07] Speaker B: No.
[01:13:07] Speaker C: Oh.
Bondwatch said please be careful that there are baby spiders right there.
No, don't get that stuck in my head. All right, I'm a swing now as my second crap 13 miss.
[01:13:26] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:13:28] Speaker A: Do you have a hero point you want to use?
[01:13:30] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:13:31] Speaker B: All right.
Reroll that.
Nice.
[01:13:36] Speaker A: It's a good throw and a good catch.
[01:13:37] Speaker B: Thank you.
[01:13:38] Speaker C: Trying to overhand.
[01:13:39] Speaker D: It's like we're not nerds.
[01:13:41] Speaker B: Natural 20.
[01:13:44] Speaker C: Every single.
[01:13:45] Speaker A: Every time.
[01:13:46] Speaker B: It's either a miss or critical.
Now you cursed it. That's a real die.
[01:13:52] Speaker D: I rolled it.
[01:13:52] Speaker C: It's a real die. What do I get?
[01:13:55] Speaker A: Another horrible. Only double damage. Critical. The target is better. Second one.
I think you've used all of the triple damage cards in here. We have to run through the whole deck before we get them back again.
[01:14:05] Speaker C: Boo.
[01:14:06] Speaker A: Got to get to that decapitate card.
[01:14:07] Speaker C: That's true.
[01:14:09] Speaker D: On the final boss.
[01:14:10] Speaker B: How much damage?
[01:14:11] Speaker C: Double right?
[01:14:12] Speaker A: Correct.
[01:14:13] Speaker C: 18 damage.
[01:14:14] Speaker B: All right, still going. You have one more action.
[01:14:17] Speaker C: I'm going to do it again.
[01:14:19] Speaker D: Natural 20.
[01:14:20] Speaker C: No, I mean, it's 20 total.
[01:14:23] Speaker B: That'll hit.
[01:14:24] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. This is amazing.
[01:14:27] Speaker C: For ten damage.
[01:14:31] Speaker B: Nice. It's still there.
[01:14:34] Speaker C: That was my third.
[01:14:35] Speaker B: Your turn.
[01:14:36] Speaker D: All right. Oh, man.
[01:14:38] Speaker A: You step into the spider, you can get flanking.
[01:14:39] Speaker B: I know.
[01:14:40] Speaker D: I was just about to say, like. Oh, man.
[01:14:42] Speaker A: Your favorite terrain spiders. You're a ranger, right?
[01:14:46] Speaker B: Favorite terrain spiders.
[01:14:47] Speaker D: You're actually going to have a favorite terrain.
Lot of booze, Hall? I have a terrain stop.
That's what it should be, but it's underbrush. Okay? So I'm going to use the same one that I. The same guy that I used last time. I don't know. Anyways, so temit, actually, he takes his rapier and he sees how injured it is and how much damage Brianna did. And he knows that if he strikes here, if he strikes true, he could end this fight. Or at least the most dangerous part of this fight. So he takes a deep breath and he thrusts his rapier, and we'll find.
[01:15:21] Speaker B: Out what he rolls next week.
