[00:00:39] Speaker A: Hey there, everyone. Welcome to episode 55 of the Cracked Die podcast. This is Anwar. I play temid, the cleric on the show. And just as usual, I want to start off by saying thank you to all of you who are tuning in. [00:00:51] Speaker B: And listening to our podcast. [00:00:52] Speaker A: It really means a lot to us. So this week, I want to start off by spitting some facts about Andarin at you. Did you know that Andurin threw off the shackles of the chalaxian empire in 69 Ar in what is known as the People's revolt? Shortly thereafter, they codified the associative act, which made them the first democracy in the inner sea. They have an election every five years in which the people of Anduran elect the members of the People's council, and in turn, the members of the People's council appoint the supreme elect. So I'm sure many of you already know where I'm headed with this. In the United States, we have an election upcoming next week, and a democracy doesn't work unless the people vote. The people of Anduran vote every five years, and they have dragons and liches and evil deities all around. So if you can go out there and safely vote, please do so. Or if you already have, via early voting. [00:01:50] Speaker C: Great. [00:01:50] Speaker A: You listen to me talk for no reason. And for those of our listeners who are not american citizens and are not able to vote in the US elections, sorry for boring you for the last couple minutes, but I hope you really enjoyed that little bit of Andoran lore. [00:02:06] Speaker B: That I was able to provide you. [00:02:07] Speaker A: At the very least, look at it that way. [00:02:09] Speaker C: Right? [00:02:09] Speaker A: Anyways, I've taken up enough of your time. That's enough preaching from the cleric. So I'll catch you guys later. Take care. [00:02:15] Speaker D: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast, all heroes fought and dealt with another dragon pillar. Upon completing this task, our heroes decided to explore some more. What will they find? Where will they go next? And who will be there to see them? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:44] Speaker C: Welcome to the 55th episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:51] Speaker E: Hey, we made it. [00:02:52] Speaker F: Find out whether or not pond watcher lives or dies. [00:02:54] Speaker C: Yeah, well, I mean, I think he. [00:02:57] Speaker G: Lives, but so far, so good. We're gonna start the episode with just, like, a meteor falling out of the sky and killing him. Like, oh, he's safe. And then he, John, just murders him. [00:03:09] Speaker F: I swear to God, Sean, if you like rock sole, everybody dies. I'm divorcing you. Oh, geez. [00:03:16] Speaker C: It's been said. It has. It's been put on the table in a recorded medium. [00:03:24] Speaker F: That's admissible, considering we both consented to it. Yeah. [00:03:31] Speaker C: Okay. Well, you all survived in various states of health, and I just want to commend temid for keeping Pondwatcher alive. I went back and did the math on how much damage pondwatcher took. It's easily double the amount of hit points you have. Yay. [00:03:51] Speaker H: Time in. [00:03:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:03:52] Speaker B: I also miscalculated how much I was healing him, too, and I actually was supposed to have healed him for a little bit more. [00:03:58] Speaker H: Well, you already overhealed me the first time, so it didn't end up mattering. [00:04:02] Speaker G: But it really is. [00:04:03] Speaker H: It's like the medic and the heavy, and I'm just, like, screaming and running forward and. [00:04:10] Speaker C: Scares me. [00:04:12] Speaker B: I did a total of five damage to about 270 or 280 worth of hit points. Whatever those things had, that's. That was my job. [00:04:22] Speaker H: You did grab one like a kitten, though. [00:04:24] Speaker C: You did. [00:04:26] Speaker B: I just snuggle it and then it bit me. [00:04:29] Speaker F: I don't know if you would have a cat. [00:04:32] Speaker G: You realize that, right? [00:04:33] Speaker B: Yes, that's what it does, actually. So in this. In our new home, we have a backyard, and there's this, like, cat. Like an adolescent cat. It's not quite fully grown yet, but it's not like a kitten. And it's like this gorgeous, like, rust kind of color. And it hangs out in our backyard a lot. And so, like, you know, I, like, leave water for it and stuff because it's. It's nice looking, and it hasn't attacked me ever. And it's been leaving me at rodents. It worships me. [00:05:02] Speaker F: Now. [00:05:05] Speaker C: You have a friend. I have a friend. [00:05:07] Speaker B: I'm trying to convince my wife that we should take it in, but she's like, no, her reasoning is that she has one wild animal already. She doesn't want another one. [00:05:21] Speaker C: Ah, a wild animal. [00:05:22] Speaker B: I mean, someone who's really dirty and, like. Like, doesn't clean after himself that well. [00:05:26] Speaker F: Yeah, we know it's you to ask that. [00:05:30] Speaker C: Is. Is it. [00:05:30] Speaker F: Is it you? [00:05:33] Speaker C: Um, no. [00:05:33] Speaker B: There's a wild boar that we found and way cupboard. [00:05:39] Speaker E: Oh, that's actually adorable sounding. [00:05:42] Speaker F: I thought they only came in packs of 35 to 50. [00:05:48] Speaker C: Okay, after this battle, there are two dead dragon, fire breathing dragon monkey things and a knocked over pillar that the smoke has stopped billowing out of its face. [00:06:03] Speaker G: Good job, Brianna. [00:06:04] Speaker C: Also, Brianna. That was clutch knocking that over so quick. [00:06:07] Speaker F: That was like, one. One thing, and just, boom. [00:06:11] Speaker H: It's just like blasting lasers into the air like a lighthouse. [00:06:17] Speaker E: I do not appreciate the disco party where we get hurt. [00:06:20] Speaker F: Have you ever heard of a dark grave. [00:06:25] Speaker G: Where it's light, it's like bright light. And then every once in a while, it just, like, strobes dark. [00:06:31] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, that's what a weird. It did shoot darkness at you. [00:06:36] Speaker G: Yeah, I know. I get it. I'm just trying to think of that in like a practical club sense. That would be the weirdest. [00:06:43] Speaker B: I don't know. I actually kind of. Isn't that what strobing lights are anyways? It's just. Just either on or off, right? It doesn't matter how it starts. It's just going to be either on or off. So that's exactly what people do in clubs nowadays, Matthew. [00:06:56] Speaker G: But I mean, like, the bright. You would come into the club and it's like bright light. Like, it's just like fully bright in a club where you never want that to happen because then you can see all the stains and then every once in a while, it just extroverts dark. Like you're in a horror movie. Like that would be horrible. [00:07:13] Speaker F: That means at the end of the night, instead of the lights coming up, the lights go down. So, like, those beer goggles get another level. [00:07:19] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:07:20] Speaker G: Advanced beer goggles. Those are level eight beer goggles instead of level one. [00:07:25] Speaker H: Wow. [00:07:26] Speaker B: Beer goggles. [00:07:27] Speaker C: Wait. [00:07:27] Speaker B: My character is very, very interested. [00:07:29] Speaker F: Now. [00:07:33] Speaker C: You finish this battle. There's the corpses of two fire breathing monkey dragon things. A knocked over pillar. And you're all about ankle deep in muck water. Kind of a swampy area. You can tell that these. These are like. Like you animals would come to drink from these. This area. Because it's whether rainwater gathers, it's not really moving too much. There's not like a flow that's not moving into the river or anything like that. But again, another dragon pillar has been toppled. It looks like it's been destroyed. [00:08:17] Speaker H: I sit down on the ground. [00:08:20] Speaker F: Oh, pong, watch. [00:08:21] Speaker B: Tevye just kind of. [00:08:23] Speaker C: Oh, sorry. [00:08:24] Speaker H: No, you go. [00:08:25] Speaker B: It's okay, temmie just kind of like gathers everyone around. Come on, guys, let's. Let's tend to those wounds. Those burns. [00:08:36] Speaker H: Did the monkeys have coins? [00:08:38] Speaker G: Those have coins. [00:08:40] Speaker H: Do they have coins or bongo drums or something? [00:08:43] Speaker B: He goes, I don't know, silver. Do they? [00:08:49] Speaker G: Twin Talon will go search. He will not with a great. A lot of hope, but he will go search the monkey bodies. [00:08:55] Speaker C: Okay, so in the next ten minutes, twin Talon is going to search the bodies of the two fallen creatures. What is Brianna doing in the next ten minutes. [00:09:09] Speaker E: She will come over to Tammid, since she. She was called over and she's. She's not as hurt as poor pondwatcher, but she could at least learn and or help. [00:09:26] Speaker C: All right, and Soraya, what are you doing? [00:09:28] Speaker F: I think I'm actually gonna spend ten minutes studying the pillar with my daha glory. [00:09:33] Speaker C: Okay, great. Pond watcher, you're sitting on the ground. [00:09:39] Speaker H: I am fatigued. I cannot take any action. [00:09:41] Speaker C: Great. I thought you were gonna just pick up some mud and start rubbing it in all the wounds. And Temmit is, I'm assuming, healing Pond watcher and Brianna, or. What are you doing? [00:09:56] Speaker G: You can do two at once, right? [00:09:57] Speaker B: I could do two at once. So, yeah, he's going to be healing the two of them, and. And he's going to be saying, so, Brianna, what I usually do when I'm. When I'm healing people like this is I sing a little song that helps me remember how to heal people. It goes. Knee bones connected to the thigh bone, the thigh bones connected to the hip bone, the hip bones connected to the. No, no. Ah, shit. [00:10:27] Speaker H: Doesn't make me feel more comfortable. [00:10:35] Speaker F: You have to look for the key points in the body. The head, shoulders, knees and the toes. [00:10:43] Speaker G: Knees and toes. Knees and toes. [00:10:45] Speaker B: I'd have been way better and way smarter and way more clever, but I came up with my shitty version. [00:10:50] Speaker C: I know. I liked your song twin talent. [00:10:53] Speaker G: Did you make that up? [00:10:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:10:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Now, anytime that anyone sings it, I get $0.34. [00:11:03] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna roll twin talons perception to see what he thought. Find. What is your perception bonus? [00:11:13] Speaker G: My perception bonus is a 14. I am a master perceiver and I'm also fast at perceiving too. Not that I think that matters, but timid. [00:11:26] Speaker C: Go ahead and roll for healing of those lovely folks. [00:11:30] Speaker B: All right, so they each get about 20 hit points back. It would have been more, but he thinks the hips connected to the nose. [00:11:37] Speaker C: Saraya, what is your dahawk lore? [00:11:41] Speaker F: My dahawk lure is 13. [00:11:45] Speaker C: Okay, so twin Talon, after looking at these small creatures, realizes they don't have any pockets. There's no really place for them to store anything. But since you've started to kind of study poisons and whatnot, you do see the fire sacks that you think you might be able to harvest, or at least Saraya might be able to harvest and show you how to harvest those. And they could potentially give you some components. Ooh. [00:12:19] Speaker G: All right, he'll point them out to Saraya then. [00:12:21] Speaker C: Cool. Soraya, as you're looking at this, this fallen pillar, you realize that this is, again, one of the many pillars. And you actually see on it that there are some scratch marks, almost like tally mark. And you think that those tally marks might. You have a very good thought that those might represent how many pillars there are total. [00:12:56] Speaker G: Why would they do that? Okay, whatever. [00:12:58] Speaker F: So how many scratch marks do I see? See? [00:13:02] Speaker C: Eight. [00:13:03] Speaker F: Eight. So you've knocked down two? [00:13:09] Speaker G: No, we've knocked down four. [00:13:11] Speaker F: Four. Okay, my memory is shot. [00:13:16] Speaker G: Well, because the one was broken. We got there, but that's true. [00:13:22] Speaker B: To be clear, is it a number of eight or is it just eight? [00:13:27] Speaker C: You just see eight slash marks on the. [00:13:30] Speaker B: So it's not like five slash marks. Slash eight slash marks. It's just eight slash marks. [00:13:35] Speaker G: It's not five of eight. [00:13:36] Speaker F: Yeah, right. [00:13:37] Speaker G: Can you imagine in a series we've deflect them all? [00:13:42] Speaker B: That would make more sense. So that they can, like, catalog. Oh, yeah, we have five of them and number five out of eight is broken. So we got to go fix number five. But just saying. Yeah, no, no, we have eight of them and everybody needs to know that there's eight. Sounds a little weird, but I mean. [00:13:54] Speaker F: If they're all different colors and they do different things, they know. Okay, the darkness pillar is broken. Let's go check it out. [00:14:01] Speaker G: I still think that this whole thing, there's going to be like. When we get to the final place, there'll be something there that would have been more powerful if we didn't destroy all the pillars. Yeah, that's my guess. [00:14:14] Speaker F: It seems like the most rational thought. [00:14:16] Speaker G: Because we can totally avoid these if we really wanted to. [00:14:19] Speaker F: Yeah, I mean, I'll share that with the rest of the group then, you know, point out that it seems like there might be a number of these. We've gotten perhaps about half of them now, and I suppose we'll see what the rest of them are about. [00:14:34] Speaker E: Yes. I feel like we should continue finding them and gobbling them over. [00:14:40] Speaker G: Sounds good. [00:14:41] Speaker F: Before we do that, though, I do want to look at those. There's a sacks you pointed out. [00:14:47] Speaker C: I'm a so twin talon. What are you gonna do for the next ten minutes while Saraya is going to look at the sacks, the fire sacks and these creatures? [00:14:57] Speaker G: I will go to temid. [00:14:58] Speaker I: I'm like, timid. I. [00:15:00] Speaker G: That last little bit of the combat did. I got hurt. So if you could patch me up, I'd appreciate it. No problem. [00:15:07] Speaker B: I have a seat right next to you over there in the pond. [00:15:11] Speaker C: Hmm. [00:15:12] Speaker H: Hey, that's funny. [00:15:17] Speaker F: Palm sitter now. [00:15:19] Speaker B: Oh, nice. [00:15:20] Speaker H: Am I going to get my skin back at any point? [00:15:23] Speaker B: Um, it's hard to tell. It's connected to your ears, so you know they are. [00:15:30] Speaker F: His skin is connected to his ears. [00:15:32] Speaker B: He was right about something. [00:15:33] Speaker C: Thank you, Brianna, what are you going to do in the ten minutes? Well, Saraya is trying to carefully harvest these fire glands. [00:15:45] Speaker E: She always feels uneasy now since silver was taken, so she will stand watch and stand guard to make sure that her compatriots will be safe while they're doing their various healing and or salvaging of glands. [00:16:02] Speaker C: Great. Saraya, we already know you're gonna try and cut out those. Those fire glands. [00:16:08] Speaker F: Absolutely. [00:16:09] Speaker C: Pond watcher, you can do stuff now, but I'm assuming you don't really want to. [00:16:14] Speaker H: I can't do stuff until I have a full night's rest. [00:16:17] Speaker C: Oh, wow. Okay. And ten minutes is going to be healing. Gotcha. So, Brianna, what is your perception bonus, if you don't mind. [00:16:30] Speaker E: Excellent. Also a nine. [00:16:33] Speaker C: Nine. Okay. And Saraya, what is your crafting? [00:16:41] Speaker F: That would of course be my master. So it's 17. [00:16:45] Speaker C: Okay, great. Oh, go. Yes. Say, time to go ahead and roll your healing. So as another ten minutes ticks by, twin Talon gets healed for 18 hit points. 18. [00:16:58] Speaker B: Hippo and Pondi also gets. Yeah, thank you. [00:17:02] Speaker C: Yep. Brianna, as you're walking around kind of being a century, you don't really see anything coming around. You don't notice any unknown creatures or anything like that. Saraya, with you managed to carefully harvest one of the fire bladders from the creature. The other one, you accidentally, like, something shifts and you cut it and it kind of like, deflates. So you only get one fire bladder. [00:17:32] Speaker F: You roll for me. [00:17:33] Speaker C: I know, I'm sorry. Pond Watcher, you also heal another 18 and ten is healing everyone. So you are all fairly tired, I'm assuming, from this chaos, if you will. Do you guys want to camp here or do you guys want to try and head out, try and get to another hex tonight or what? [00:17:59] Speaker F: I would rather let our tank rest. Sound fair? [00:18:05] Speaker E: Yes. We just have to somehow protect ourselves from the mosquitoes that will undoubtedly be very, very hungry tonight since we are by water. Lots of it. [00:18:18] Speaker F: I will leave that to you. You seem to be the best at that. [00:18:21] Speaker B: All right, but before we do any of that, everyone gather around. And he's just gonna drain the rest of his healing spells until everyone's topped off. [00:18:31] Speaker C: That sounds fine. I think over the course of the next few hours, it's probably. I mean, you guys got there around, like, probably, like, noon. The fight took a couple of seconds, as strange as that sounds, with how much every. How much stuff happened, and then you're kind of like, okay, well, that was a very, like, tiring day. And you guys set up camp. Rennuli shows back up, and she tells you that she didn't really see anything in the hex that she was exploring. Let me reveal that for you all. [00:19:18] Speaker H: This is such a massive place. [00:19:20] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:19:21] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. So if you guys would like to roll for camping and whatnot. [00:19:28] Speaker B: Sure. I have a question about having been using guidance much, and it says that basically, my next check, you know, I can get a plus one or whoever I choose to get a plus one on it, isn't around. I think it's in a. Yeah, right. But I guess since this is, like, a survival check over the course of time to build this thing, I don't think it would really apply here. [00:19:52] Speaker H: Right. [00:19:52] Speaker B: Like, is that. [00:19:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:53] Speaker B: Everyone agree? [00:19:53] Speaker G: Unfortunately, unless you cast it every round. [00:19:58] Speaker B: I mean, it is a cantrip. [00:19:59] Speaker C: Yeah. I mean, you could do that. You know what? Go ahead and take the plus one. [00:20:03] Speaker B: All right. [00:20:05] Speaker E: Now you. You're, like, teaching us. [00:20:08] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:20:08] Speaker G: I would say that it takes, you know, 33% longer than normal, but you get a plus one, so it doesn't. [00:20:15] Speaker B: Matter because I got a natural 20. So instead of a 33, I got a 34. [00:20:18] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:20:19] Speaker G: Suck it. [00:20:20] Speaker C: Yeah. So you managed to show everyone how to build the camp, and you build an excellent, excellent camp. [00:20:27] Speaker B: So I. The way that I see it is he finds the enemy lair and the enemy sleeping, and he just kind of just stabs it and campaigns over because they won. [00:20:36] Speaker E: Cool, cool, cool. [00:20:39] Speaker C: You guys can tell. Well, since Kemet rolled so well, you guys know that you're probably two hexes away from where the EkU J area is. The Kujay town is. So you guys went south, then you guys kind of went east and northeast and then northeast. And now you're. You're kind of almost back to where you started. [00:21:09] Speaker E: So, I mean, we're gonna have to. [00:21:12] Speaker F: Explore this whole map anyway, aren't we? [00:21:14] Speaker C: Yep. [00:21:14] Speaker G: Yeah. And looking at the map, I was wrong. It was. We've done three pillars. [00:21:19] Speaker F: Okay. Yeah. [00:21:20] Speaker G: So five of that same encounter. Left to go. [00:21:23] Speaker C: One, two, three. Plus the one you found that wasn't completed at eight, right? [00:21:31] Speaker G: Correct. We can't see the numbers, but it's the. Okay, so we're assuming that's one of the eight. The one that wasn't completed. [00:21:40] Speaker C: Yes. [00:21:41] Speaker G: Okay. [00:21:42] Speaker C: That was. Right. [00:21:43] Speaker E: Okay, cool. [00:21:45] Speaker G: So I was wrong. I was right. [00:21:49] Speaker E: Wait a minute. [00:21:50] Speaker G: Sounds like me. [00:21:51] Speaker F: Sean, um, what do the. So I have the fire bladder. What does it do? What is it good for? [00:21:59] Speaker G: Absolutely nothing. [00:22:02] Speaker C: Say it again. You can use it to craft fire bombs if you'd like. [00:22:09] Speaker F: Oh, like the long way. [00:22:10] Speaker C: Yes, like the long way. [00:22:12] Speaker F: Wow. I'll hand it over to twin Talon. [00:22:16] Speaker C: If he wants it. But the long way, they last forever. The short way, they only last for the day. [00:22:21] Speaker F: Yeah, but I can get, like, a lot of them a day. [00:22:26] Speaker C: Okay. [00:22:26] Speaker F: It's also. That's one of my. The lesser versions are I now have infinite supply of. [00:22:31] Speaker C: Oh, that's right. [00:22:32] Speaker F: Yeah. So, I mean, Twintellen, if you want it. [00:22:36] Speaker G: I mean, I have no ability to craft anything, but I don't want to. No offense. I don't want to hold a volatile bladder full of fire liquid. [00:22:47] Speaker F: We'll see if I just can't use it for utility something later if I. [00:22:50] Speaker C: Like, spread it somewhere. [00:22:51] Speaker F: Can I light that on fire? [00:22:52] Speaker C: Maybe? I mean, it is flammable liquid. It's basically like petroleum jelly in a bladder. [00:22:59] Speaker F: I'm assuming it won't let me become, like, a vivisectionist and install it on myself somehow. [00:23:04] Speaker C: So, no. Nope. I didn't see that that new archetype come out yet, so. [00:23:13] Speaker F: Hey, Paizo, I will write that shit for you. [00:23:18] Speaker C: I think I'm gonna give. Also, just for funsies, I'm going to give Anwar a hero point or why? [00:23:29] Speaker F: Keeping us alive. [00:23:31] Speaker G: Great. [00:23:33] Speaker B: I mean, I appreciate it. I will accept it, but I really was just doing what a cleric does. [00:23:38] Speaker C: And then I'm going to give everyone a hero a point. [00:23:40] Speaker H: Yay. [00:23:42] Speaker B: I can't. Can't have more than three. [00:23:45] Speaker G: You can't have four? [00:23:47] Speaker C: No. No, he cannot. [00:23:51] Speaker G: You gave him a hero point and then took one away? [00:23:53] Speaker C: Yep. [00:23:54] Speaker B: I said, no. [00:23:55] Speaker C: He tried to take it away. [00:23:59] Speaker B: On roll 20. You can actually. It pop up, came up, and it said, he wants to steal your card. And I was like, no way. [00:24:07] Speaker F: Now he's apparently stolen all of our hero points and punishment, though, so I. [00:24:12] Speaker B: Still stand by my actions. [00:24:14] Speaker E: It's fair. I stand. Solidarity. [00:24:17] Speaker C: Shield bros. Shield bros. [00:24:20] Speaker F: I say, fuck y'all. [00:24:23] Speaker C: What? [00:24:27] Speaker B: Actually, he's punishing me by giving me all of my hero points back and no one else, any of theirs so that the group hates me. [00:24:35] Speaker G: Mission accomplished. I mean, no, that would never work. [00:24:38] Speaker F: What do you mean? We would never hate you. [00:24:41] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. Sorry. Back to stuff, right, so you guys get some good rest because Tamid is so skilled at building camps by. At this point. You guys wake up the next morning, and where do you all want to head? [00:25:07] Speaker G: So, as the de facto tactical leader, I think. Well, I would actually ask a question. One, how are our supplies? Do we need to go back to the Okuj camp and resupply, or are we in good shape? [00:25:19] Speaker C: You could definitely go back and refuel at the Okuje camp. They're probably about half empty. [00:25:30] Speaker G: Okay, so then I would say for today, we go one tile northwest. That'll put us adjacent to the Okuje camp, and then we can send our spider friend directly north to explore that hex as well. So that'll get us to explore Texas. Theoretically works for me. [00:25:47] Speaker H: This would probably be the time to replenish supplies. As long as we're right here. [00:25:51] Speaker F: Yeah, we're here. [00:25:52] Speaker G: Yeah, that's what I mean. So then. And then tomorrow, we can go replenish while she does the one directly north of the Okuje camp, and then we can kind of come to the west and see if there's anything over there that we missed. [00:26:02] Speaker C: Yep, yep. [00:26:02] Speaker H: And I can finally pawn Alex greatsour. [00:26:05] Speaker G: Yes. Would any of you people who don't use metal like a silver greatsword, they love it. [00:26:11] Speaker H: Okay. They get melted down for some necklaces. I don't know. [00:26:17] Speaker G: Cool. [00:26:18] Speaker C: All right. Not my problem. So you all explore. You head that way. It is very, very. Compared to yesterday, like the day before, it is a very boring day. It's warm. You're still under the shade of the tree, so it's keeping that humidity in. You're sweating, but nothing exciting happens. [00:26:44] Speaker H: It's probably a nice change of pace, actually. [00:26:46] Speaker F: Yeah, right, right. [00:26:49] Speaker G: Okay, then the next day, I say we go to the Okuche camp, resupply, and send Rennuli to the north of the Okuje camp to explore there. [00:26:58] Speaker C: You all head back to the Okuje camp. They greet you with very excitedly asking you what has happened since you've left? [00:27:11] Speaker I: We solved your issue with that, you. [00:27:15] Speaker G: Know, not being able to see things into the jungle. [00:27:20] Speaker C: Do you know what was causing it? [00:27:22] Speaker I: It was a pillar dedicated to Dahak. It shot black light out of it, and it seems like it could have blinded you if it hit you. [00:27:32] Speaker C: Interesting. Have you encountered anything strange or out of the ordinary? [00:27:40] Speaker I: There was a guy with a jackal on the back of his head and some more pillars, so pretty much par for the course, I would say. [00:27:49] Speaker C: You all seem to be, how to say this politely, short, a member of your group. [00:28:00] Speaker I: All right. The old man was carried off in the night by vampires just casually throwing that. [00:28:07] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:28:07] Speaker H: Oh, yeah. That did happen. [00:28:13] Speaker C: So with the news of vampires in the forest, the kuja looked very concerned. You see, the twin leopards start establishing quickly, sending out more guards to protect the area. And you can assume that their watches will be more vigilant than they have been perhaps in the past, especially at night. You guys can sell whatever you need to sell, which will handle off air, resupply with whatever you need to resupply. They give you fresh mosquito netting. They give you food. They give you rations for a week. They basically provide you fresh water for two weeks worth of water, one week worth of food. Their theory is there's enough in the forest that you can get food easier than you could probably get fresh water. Mm hmm. [00:29:14] Speaker G: Yeah. Dysentery. [00:29:19] Speaker C: And any. Again, this is a fairly large settlement, so if there's anything you wanted to purchase, you could probably find it. Anything special anyone wants to pick up? [00:29:33] Speaker H: Well, hero lab gives me the option to rent a dog, so. [00:29:39] Speaker G: Rent a dog. [00:29:41] Speaker H: You can rent a riding dog under the mounts section. So I'm gonna get like seven of those. Is that. Is that cool or. No, I'm just kidding. [00:29:51] Speaker F: Hey, I was watching a video earlier of what I can only describe as a herd of St. Bernards, and I'm just imagining Pondwatcher, like, leading them into battle. [00:30:01] Speaker C: So you. You head up to the clapping jowls. The dog, the dog, rented dog. And unfortunately, they're closed for a song every time. [00:30:14] Speaker H: I would actually, if it's possible, like to buy a javelin of lightning. [00:30:22] Speaker C: What is the rarity on that? [00:30:25] Speaker H: That's a great question. [00:30:28] Speaker C: It's a 9th level item. [00:30:31] Speaker H: It just seemed fun. You know what? [00:30:36] Speaker C: Yes, you can buy one, but only one. It's 110 gold. [00:30:43] Speaker H: Oh, wait, sorry, I don't have enough money for that. It never happened. [00:30:47] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [00:30:48] Speaker H: I don't know what the difference between gold and silver is. I'm stupid. [00:30:52] Speaker C: Javelin of lightning. 110 gold. Yeah. [00:30:55] Speaker H: Your lab is wrong. And they'll be getting an angrily worded letter from Pond Watcher. [00:31:02] Speaker F: Not rich. [00:31:03] Speaker H: I don't have time. He's got a lot more time than I do. [00:31:08] Speaker B: I feel like that's actually something that happens on a not so rare occasion for these gaming companies where people will send letters in their characters. [00:31:17] Speaker C: Yes. Okay. So you get resupplied, do your shopping. Where do you all want to head? Now? Now remember, you can move two hexes in a day, right? [00:31:34] Speaker G: Do we think there's anything worth exploring, Sean? To the west of us? Or would that be a lot of dead air time. [00:31:40] Speaker C: That might, might be a lot of dead air time. Okay, I think the Akuje settlement and the where you found the Kobolds, I think that's as far as you would need to go. [00:31:55] Speaker G: Okay. [00:31:55] Speaker C: To the west. [00:31:57] Speaker G: So then with that magical knowledge from the universe, I would say we should, you know, back to the east. [00:32:06] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:32:08] Speaker G: Because we can get back to where the last dragon pillar was in one day if we just move and do not do anything else. [00:32:15] Speaker C: Let me just reveal that. [00:32:18] Speaker G: Cool. We asked the Okujay, is there anything over this way? They're like, nah, dude, don't worry about it. [00:32:23] Speaker C: It's cool that way. Go the other way. [00:32:25] Speaker H: Let me send up my drone. [00:32:27] Speaker B: Thanks. [00:32:27] Speaker H: Just like, oh, yeah, no, nothing. [00:32:33] Speaker F: Perfect. [00:32:34] Speaker H: We invented drones, so it's fun. [00:32:37] Speaker C: Oh, cool. Yeah. Awesome. So where are you headed? [00:32:42] Speaker G: Back south, I guess I would say. I was gonna say back to the dragon pillar. We can kind of explore the northern area and then move south and then back west to finish it up. Back to the elephant, because we know that there's a mine somewhere. We know that there's a fortress somewhere, I think. [00:33:01] Speaker F: Mm hmm. [00:33:02] Speaker G: So we'll see what we can find. [00:33:04] Speaker C: Okay, so you're heading south, you said. [00:33:07] Speaker G: Oh, I was gonna say right there. Directly east. Yeah. [00:33:10] Speaker C: All right, so you guys back to. [00:33:11] Speaker G: Where we just were, fought the darkness emitting dragon pillar. [00:33:14] Speaker C: So you head back to where you were. When you get back, you notice that the fire breathing monkey dragon corpses have been eaten by indigenous animals. Sounds good because you guys didn't hide the limit. Yep. [00:33:32] Speaker G: Yeah, why would we hide them? [00:33:33] Speaker C: Yeah, the. The pillar is still there, knocked over. Do you guys do anything else to the pillar, or do you just leave it knocked over? [00:33:45] Speaker G: I guess we should, yeah. [00:33:46] Speaker H: Does it seem like it's still doing something, or. [00:33:49] Speaker C: No, as soon as it got knocked over, it looks like it stopped. [00:33:53] Speaker B: Someone could re erect it, though. [00:33:54] Speaker F: Exactly. Last thing we need is a repair crew having. [00:33:56] Speaker H: Yes, sir. Can you, like, melt it or something with, like, acid. [00:34:01] Speaker F: And I pour the fire bladder on it and light it up? [00:34:03] Speaker G: Yes. I was thinking, too. [00:34:04] Speaker H: Yeah, we all, like, get down behind, like, a little, like, you know, divot in the ground and watch it explode. [00:34:12] Speaker F: Yeah, I'll say. [00:34:14] Speaker C: You guys did that before you left? [00:34:15] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. I mean, she definitely just stands there and, like, you know, it all, like, blows her hair and her robes back. You can't see she's just grinning. [00:34:22] Speaker H: Awesome. [00:34:24] Speaker B: So timid's not. [00:34:25] Speaker C: Listen. [00:34:25] Speaker B: Tim is not listening to everyone while they're doing this. So then he just kind of goes off and starts peeing on it. And every time she tries to light it, it just kind of goes out. [00:34:32] Speaker C: And they're like, what? [00:34:34] Speaker F: I think with my alchemical knowledge of fire, that's a dangerous move for Tevin to make. [00:34:40] Speaker B: Okay, I rescind what I'm. [00:34:42] Speaker H: Careful, you'll blur off your penis. [00:34:46] Speaker G: Learn it all. That was a thing. [00:34:54] Speaker C: Okay, so you guys camp there. You still find the remains of your first camp, so you don't really have to do much to fix it up. It's still really good because it was a critical success in it. So you guys camp there. And where are you headed off to now? [00:35:12] Speaker G: So I would say, yeah, directly to east. I mean, can we explore that hex if we end up there? Are we not going to explore? Okay, so if we could, I'd like for us to end up, you know, two directly east and then have our spider friend go one directly north of that. [00:35:33] Speaker C: Great. So you all move there. Newly moves there. I love when I go to a map that I thought I put you guys on, and I only see two player, two characters only. Temmit and pond watcher. That's the only two that make it to the next map. [00:35:50] Speaker G: Well, see those guys later. [00:35:53] Speaker H: You probably still couldn't kill me. Although you very nearly killed me last time. I should probably stop saying that. [00:36:02] Speaker C: Yeah, you were. You were very close. You were at, what, 20 something? Out of 122? [00:36:06] Speaker H: Out of 111. But really, 100. 2021 with the rage. So I got lit up. [00:36:12] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:14] Speaker H: I didn't take any fire damage, but I should have. So that's, like, even more. I would have been way dead if not for Temmin. [00:36:25] Speaker C: So you guys follow the water kind of from the first, the black eye eyed pillar. And as you go through the first text, it's not that big of a deal. But as you approach the second one, you see a sinister pall seeming to hang over this area of the forest where jungle birds, frogs, and insects once sang in deafening cacophony. There is now only a menacing silence. Ahead, an ominous pillar topped with an indigo carving of a dragon head looms in the middle of a tall, tangled clearing. [00:37:08] Speaker H: Oh, boy. [00:37:10] Speaker C: Okay, well, indigo dragon head, go ahead and put yourselves in that square as you would like. Okay, so you are where you are. You guys appear in this clearing. You've now dealt with enough of these dragon pillars to know. Know that once you get within a certain range, you're gonna set something. You're gonna set it off. So I lu. I love how it's like twintalon Brianna. Timid pawn watcher, frontline. Saraya, chillin in the back. [00:37:52] Speaker F: I am not a tank. But can I, can I do dahawk lore and see if I know anything about what this color might do? [00:38:01] Speaker G: Sure it's a good idea? [00:38:03] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. [00:38:04] Speaker F: I accept. I rolled a 316. [00:38:07] Speaker C: You're pretty sure that this does fire damage? [00:38:12] Speaker H: Can I do dragon lore? [00:38:16] Speaker C: Yeah, absolutely. [00:38:18] Speaker G: Worse. [00:38:20] Speaker C: Watch out for the ice youth. Yeah. You think it does ice damage? [00:38:25] Speaker G: Can I use knowledge architecture to figure out how stunning stable it is? [00:38:29] Speaker C: Yes. Yes. [00:38:33] Speaker G: You may 19. [00:38:35] Speaker C: Yes. So you're pretty sure like once again you could probably push this pillar over. It looks like it's rooted to the ground fairly securely, but it's also drawing magic from the ground. So once you topple it, it should cut off the magical energies going through it. [00:38:56] Speaker I: All right, guys, I've studied the architecture of the pillar. Let's just do the same thing we always do. [00:39:03] Speaker E: Which is rush forward and try and push it over. [00:39:06] Speaker I: Yes. [00:39:07] Speaker G: And then when things jump out of. [00:39:08] Speaker I: The trees at us, we kill them and don't die ourselves. [00:39:11] Speaker E: How about we look and see if there is something in the trees that we can try and avoid? [00:39:16] Speaker I: All right, if you want to do it different, just. [00:39:20] Speaker E: Well, I'm sure an 18 perception will give me nothing. [00:39:24] Speaker G: Sean, can you roll for me? [00:39:25] Speaker C: Yes, I can. [00:39:26] Speaker E: Oh, sorry. [00:39:27] Speaker C: Yeah, let me, let me roll everyone's perception real quick. Starting with twin Talon. What is your perception bonus? [00:39:35] Speaker G: 14. I'm a master. [00:39:39] Speaker C: Brianna. [00:39:40] Speaker E: Nine. [00:39:41] Speaker C: Saraya, what is your perception bonus? [00:39:44] Speaker F: Nine. [00:39:44] Speaker C: Pond watcher, what is your perception bonus? [00:39:47] Speaker H: Eleven. [00:39:49] Speaker C: And ten. What is your perception bonus? [00:39:53] Speaker B: 15. [00:39:54] Speaker C: I'm sorry, 15. 1515. Thank you. [00:39:59] Speaker H: Okay, there's like 36 ghouls, just like under the water, waiting for us to take one more step. Like that scene in Lord of the Rings with other people under the water. [00:40:10] Speaker F: Exactly. [00:40:11] Speaker C: Yes. Okay, so as you are all approaching pond watch, sorry, timid. Points out some frog looking archers. [00:40:26] Speaker G: Oh, like the ones we fought before? [00:40:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:40:29] Speaker G: Okay, cool. And look over there, guys. [00:40:32] Speaker B: There's frog archers. [00:40:34] Speaker A: The kinds we fought for. [00:40:37] Speaker G: Frchers. [00:40:39] Speaker F: Remind me, what was most useful against them? [00:40:43] Speaker G: Stabbing them. Worked great. [00:40:46] Speaker F: Well, I don't have a bomb. I don't have a pipe bomb. [00:40:51] Speaker C: Now that you see them, if you would like to give me a society check. [00:40:57] Speaker F: 22. [00:40:57] Speaker C: 22. You know that these are gripply archers. [00:41:04] Speaker G: What about a 31? [00:41:06] Speaker C: You also know that these are gripply archers. Saraya, you may ask me one question. Twin Talon, you may ask me two questions about that. [00:41:17] Speaker F: I'm gonna go with weaknesses. [00:41:20] Speaker C: They have no innate weaknesses or innate bonuses. Yeah. [00:41:28] Speaker G: Okay, twin Talon, what is their exact ac 20? Oh, good. And her knowledge was that they have no weaknesses or bonuses against anything. Is that right? [00:41:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:43] Speaker G: Do they have any like special attacks? Like they can croak and make themselves run fast or something like that? [00:41:50] Speaker C: Nothing like that. However, they do have an ability called hail of arrows. The Grippli archer makes three ranged attack strikes with their short bow. Again, all against a single target. Combine the damage of any strikes that hit for the purposes of resistances and weakness, and it costs two actions. [00:42:11] Speaker G: Okay. [00:42:13] Speaker I: All right, so these guys can do the same thing that the fire dragon monkeys could do, but they do it at range where they attack three times real quick. [00:42:22] Speaker E: But they don't blast fire, correct? [00:42:25] Speaker I: No, no, they're just. They're just frogs. They should be pretty easy to take down with our weapons. [00:42:31] Speaker H: Okay, I have a longbow of my own. Perhaps I can start this party off. [00:42:38] Speaker I: Just blow holes in them. That'd be great. [00:42:42] Speaker G: Okay, so does it look like they see us? [00:42:45] Speaker C: No, it looks like they're not paying attention to you. Almost looks like they're focused still on the pillar. [00:42:52] Speaker G: It's like a hypnotic effect. Okay, so twin Talon will try to sneak up behind the one that's kind of. Well, there's no cover here, so I guess I'll try to go like sneak this way to get the one that's to the northwest of the pillar. So for our listeners, there are six of these grippli archers kind of positioned in like the west, northwest, north, east and southeast areas around the pillar. So Twintown's gonna do the one that's just to the northwest of it. Assuming where our map is up is north. [00:43:24] Speaker C: Yes, it is. [00:43:26] Speaker G: Because there's trees that way. [00:43:27] Speaker C: Can you please show me the path that you are walking? Stop right there, please. [00:43:37] Speaker G: I went one square to the west. [00:43:41] Speaker C: So that will trigger the dragon pillar trap. So it's going to make its attack, and then we're going to roll initiative. Jesus. Okay, so it is doing 25 versus your ac. [00:43:58] Speaker G: 25? [00:43:59] Speaker C: Yes. [00:44:00] Speaker G: Shit. That is my ac. [00:44:01] Speaker C: Okay, please make a fortitude. Save 31. So as you step, take that first step, the smoke starts billowing out of the mouth of this pillar. And the smoke is indigo. And a purple indigo beam flies directly at you and it hits you. And you feel yourself beginning to be confused. [00:44:28] Speaker H: Oh no. [00:44:29] Speaker C: Uh oh. But you managed to shake it off, but when it hit you, you still feel slowed for one round. Slowed one for one round. [00:44:39] Speaker G: Even if you succeed. Nice. [00:44:41] Speaker C: So now with that, let's go ahead. [00:44:46] Speaker G: Roll initiative. [00:44:47] Speaker C: Yeah, let me just add everyone to the initiative tracker. [00:44:50] Speaker G: Twin talon rolls a 34. [00:44:52] Speaker H: Okay, can we all use stealth for initiative? [00:44:56] Speaker C: Yes, if you would like. Cause they did not see you. [00:44:59] Speaker H: Yikes. I got a 20. [00:45:02] Speaker F: All right, I got a 23. [00:45:06] Speaker E: Okay, I also got a 23. [00:45:11] Speaker A: I got a 17. [00:45:17] Speaker C: Who would like to go first between Brianna and Saraya? [00:45:22] Speaker F: Do you have a preference? [00:45:24] Speaker C: Nope, I do not. [00:45:28] Speaker F: I'll go just to see if I can get any status effects on them. [00:45:32] Speaker C: Okay. Right. Give me 1 second to adjust something because I realize the way I set these up, all of their hit points are linked. So if I reduce one, they all reduce. [00:45:49] Speaker H: Now that works for me. [00:45:50] Speaker G: Sounds good. [00:45:51] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. [00:45:52] Speaker G: Nope, nope, nope, nope. [00:45:54] Speaker F: No, no. High blind hp. [00:46:01] Speaker C: Great. Let me roll some initiatives for them. I have six initiatives to roll. Okay, now that things are all set, twin Talon, you are going first next week. [00:46:31] Speaker F: The evil laugh though, right? [00:46:33] Speaker D: Will all heroes be able to deal with these griplies? What have they summoned and will they manage to survive?
