[00:00:38] Speaker A: Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to the Cracked Die podcast. I'm your host, NGM Shawn, and I'm super happy to be talking to you guys today.
You know, I hope everyone had fun if they participated in Gen Con online. I know I did. It was a great experience. I got to play some new games, some old games. I really had fun playing in some Pathfinder society stuff. The special this year was really fun. And as always, Gen Con, whether in person or online, was a great experience.
Now we have some exciting news ourselves. Starting August 29 at 01:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Twitch TV, the Cracked die.
We will be beginning a new adventure path GM'd by our very own Matt, who plays twin Talon on this show.
Matt will be taking myself, Haya, Pete, and Brent through the new agents of Edgewatch adventure path. Now, I'm really excited to get to play through this. Matt is an amazing GM, and we really hope you can all join us there.
Also, if you're Amazon prime subscriber, you have a free Twitch subscription. Now, if you're not using it for anything else, we would love for you to subscribe to our Twitch feed to join us in all of our misadventures that will inevitably happen in this adventure path. I know, I'm stoked. I'm really excited to play through this. So that's again, that's August 29 at 01:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Twitch TV, the cracked die. Now, rumor has it that you might be able to even influence how this game goes, so make sure you tune in and see what we do. All right?
[00:02:48] Speaker B: Then.
[00:02:48] Speaker A: We're getting into the meat and potatoes of this adventure path. Finally, midway through book two, let's see what our heroes can do now.
[00:02:59] Speaker C: Welcome to the 47th episode of the Cracked Die podcast. Finally.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: This is the one I've been waiting for. Yeah. 47.
[00:03:09] Speaker D: That's interesting.
[00:03:10] Speaker C: So whenever I hear the don't ask seven clerks, I thought it was 37. It is. But I. Whenever I hear something 737 47, I immediately think of that line, and it makes me happy. Anyway, 37 dicks in a row.
Hey, you. Get back here.
[00:03:29] Speaker E: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:03:32] Speaker C: Our heroes dealt with some dragon pillars. As they continued to explore, they found everyone's new favorite person, Gerhard Pendergast.
After suffering some insults at the hands of Gerhard, our heroes decided to chase him off into the jungle. Let's join our heroes now, deciding what to do. Last episode, you met your favorite NPC so far, your fucking Gilderoy Lockhart whatever the fuck is real Gerhard Pendergast.
[00:04:04] Speaker B: Well, I did, but it was. It was one of the dead. Shurikei Jurakai. Dead number four.
[00:04:09] Speaker C: That's my favorite. Yes, well, Gerhard Pentagrast, the world famous.
[00:04:14] Speaker A: Archaeologist, found a dragon pillar that he.
[00:04:19] Speaker C: Was going to liberate and take back to Tal'dor to show off. But you all chased him off because he was kind of a jerk to.
[00:04:27] Speaker A: You guys and talked down to you.
[00:04:29] Speaker C: An insulted Pond watcher and Ted and, well, drinking and drinking and timid.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:04:38] Speaker A: Pawn watcher.
[00:04:39] Speaker C: Are. Are you chasing after him? Oh, yeah.
[00:04:44] Speaker F: Oh, boy.
[00:04:46] Speaker G: Oh, yeah. You don't see that kind of shit to me, you blah. Pond watcher gonna come get you.
[00:04:55] Speaker D: This is how we know they've been traveling together for a while.
[00:04:58] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:04:59] Speaker G: You know, he would support this.
[00:05:02] Speaker D: Silver would be like, all right, I'll search his pockets once he's done.
[00:05:05] Speaker G: This reminds me one of my party beat a man to death in the street in Riddle port, and we just.
We had a nice meal that night.
We can't. We can't talk about it right now. It's too long of a story.
But. But, yes, I'm gonna chase him down. I'm not gonna kill. Just, you know, a little peek behind the curtain. I'm not gonna kill this person, but I'm probably gonna beat him a lot.
[00:05:29] Speaker D: See how far he gets in the forest with no kneecaps, you know, I mean, I'll probably.
[00:05:33] Speaker G: I'm so stupid. I probably won't even find him. But, you know, I'll try.
[00:05:36] Speaker C: No, let's do this.
Let's chase after him. So I have the chase rules in front of me.
[00:05:45] Speaker D: Oh, wait. God. Are we splitting the party? Twin Talon, are you still with the pillar?
[00:05:48] Speaker E: Twin Talon? I didn't really get to say much last episode, but what twin Talon was doing while you guys were backing him into the woods, twin Talon was unbridling the horses because Twintalon's clan horses are sacred to them. So this was kind of gross to him, and he was gonna free the horses anyway, but now it gives me a chance to figure out what the mounted combat rules are.
[00:06:14] Speaker F: Oh, yeah.
[00:06:16] Speaker D: Oh, man, this is gonna be good.
[00:06:18] Speaker C: The way chases work in second edition is you can gain you. There are a certain number of chase points you need to gain. You gain chase points by overcoming obstacles. Each obstacle requires a certain number of chase points to overcome. So when you get to an obstacle, you're gonna make a skill check, and you will gain.
If you succeed, you will probably gain one. If you critically succeed, you will probably gain two. If you critically fail, you lose one. And if you regular fail, you don't gain, you don't lose. So that's how it's gonna go. Gerhard is going to roll against these same obstacles, and hopefully he can outrun you guys. If he can't, well, then you catch up to him.
[00:07:09] Speaker D: Is he still in view of us when he's leaving?
[00:07:12] Speaker C: Like, as we gave chase, so he sprinted away first. So he's going to encounter the first obstacle, then he's. That will give him a lead. Hopefully, if he passes it. If not, then, yes, you can still see him. If he passes, you cannot see him, and you'll have to track him first. Does that make sense?
So who is giving Chase? Just so I know how many of you there are.
[00:07:44] Speaker G: Pond watcher gives chase.
[00:07:46] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:07:47] Speaker D: Sere is more probably gonna chase Pondwatcher.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Than timid's chasing twin towels.
[00:07:51] Speaker E: Not gonna be left behind.
[00:07:52] Speaker F: Right?
[00:07:53] Speaker G: When your friend gets in a bar fight, and you're like, oh, no.
[00:07:56] Speaker F: Exactly.
[00:07:57] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:07:58] Speaker D: It's like, shit, I gotta get in here.
It's more. I feel like it's more like when your drunk friend starts chasing a raccoon.
[00:08:06] Speaker C: You all start sprinting off.
As you start sprinting after him, you see him jump over what can only be described as deep mud. So how do you guys want to get through? Over or through this deep mud and he ducks into some trees? You can either use athletics to slog through it, perception to find a different path.
[00:08:34] Speaker G: I want to just blast right through it.
[00:08:37] Speaker E: Or acrobatics to jump over.
[00:08:39] Speaker C: Yeah, you can acrobatics over that if you want.
[00:08:41] Speaker D: Sounded like there's a third option that you just never.
[00:08:43] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:08:44] Speaker C: Oh, no, I just stopped reading. Yes, you can. All acrobatics over it.
[00:08:50] Speaker B: Is there a specific. Do we roll for initiative to see who goes in order for us, or do we just kind of go and tell you what we're doing?
[00:08:57] Speaker C: I'm in a little. A little freeform on this, because I wasn't expecting a chase, and I'll be honest, I don't have all of the chase mechanics down perfectly.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: So you had a whole week to prepare.
[00:09:07] Speaker C: I went, Shawn.
Well, whoa.
[00:09:10] Speaker F: See?
[00:09:11] Speaker C: What did you do for a whole week?
[00:09:16] Speaker G: I'm gonna watch Star Trek the next Generation.
[00:09:19] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:09:20] Speaker F: It's not like we record these back.
[00:09:21] Speaker D: To back, right, and just spread them out.
[00:09:25] Speaker E: Record the moments before. Before we release them.
[00:09:28] Speaker D: Everyone knows this.
[00:09:29] Speaker C: There's no editing. It's just literally finished.
[00:09:32] Speaker D: Session goes right out.
[00:09:36] Speaker C: This is live.
[00:09:38] Speaker G: This is live. Okay.
[00:09:40] Speaker C: This is live. We're doing it live.
[00:09:43] Speaker B: That's right. And Mike, we see you. Put the chips down.
[00:09:51] Speaker C: Hey, hey, hey. Focus on the road, okay? Focus on the road, Jacob.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: Sorry, I. I really love to play Pathfinder while driving. It's just one of my releases, you know?
[00:10:01] Speaker D: It's just one of his things.
[00:10:03] Speaker C: All right, so you see Gerhard look at this deep mud area and you see him kind of like zip around it as if he found another path.
[00:10:17] Speaker D: I'm assuming I'm not allowed to just throw frost vial and freeze the mud.
[00:10:21] Speaker C: Uh, yeah, you are if you want to.
[00:10:24] Speaker D: I could do that. It could work.
[00:10:25] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:10:26] Speaker E: Step on it and it breaks.
[00:10:28] Speaker C: Yeah, that's.
[00:10:28] Speaker D: That's my problem.
[00:10:29] Speaker C: Yeah. Or you slip.
[00:10:31] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:10:32] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:10:32] Speaker D: No, should just like slide across it.
[00:10:36] Speaker C: Cannot. Risky businessing.
[00:10:38] Speaker D: I beg to differ. And I hope you put in the piano music to back me up on that.
[00:10:45] Speaker B: All right, so do we just roll?
[00:10:47] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:10:48] Speaker C: Yeah. So who's gonna. Who? Yeah, if you want to roll, my.
[00:10:52] Speaker D: Best bet is perception. So that's what I'm gonna go for.
[00:10:54] Speaker C: All right, so temid, with a 23 acrobatics, you managed to jump over the mud.
You gain one point for your team.
[00:11:12] Speaker B: Huzzah.
[00:11:13] Speaker C: Brianna, you slog through it. You almost slog through it faster than you think walking around it.
And you get two points for critically.
[00:11:24] Speaker D: Succeeding for your team.
[00:11:25] Speaker F: This isn't so deep.
[00:11:27] Speaker C: Saraya. You find the path that he went down and you also get two points for your team for finding pondwatcher. You managed to slog through it and keep up, just about keep up with Brianna. She's a little bit faster than you, but you managed to get two points for your team as well. And you guys are right on his heels at this point.
[00:11:52] Speaker E: Okay?
[00:11:52] Speaker G: And I have to say, it's impressive how she's still faster than me even though she's wearing like 95 pounds of armor.
[00:11:59] Speaker D: Yes, that and she.
[00:12:01] Speaker F: And she's like way shorter than you. She's like scurrying along with her little legs.
[00:12:06] Speaker G: That's very impressive.
[00:12:08] Speaker C: Thank you.
[00:12:09] Speaker D: I try.
Dumb question. Is he within 20ft or so?
[00:12:15] Speaker C: Um, I'd say no, he's just outside that.
[00:12:20] Speaker G: I do like that you all were like down to chase this guy?
[00:12:24] Speaker F: Well, 1ft on and 1ft.
[00:12:26] Speaker D: What is it?
[00:12:27] Speaker F: Alpha one. One for all?
[00:12:29] Speaker D: Yeah, alpha one, all for. Yeah, but really I was just hoping I could shape this guy with a tangle to tag and slow him down.
[00:12:34] Speaker B: Okay, one for timid and all for ten minutes.
[00:12:37] Speaker G: We have to pick up the thing the totem pole and make him turn him to stone. Just leave him with the other people.
[00:12:43] Speaker E: Yeah, I mean, he is kind of a dick. It's not like he was like super nice and you were just like wanting to murder him.
[00:12:48] Speaker D: No, he was like, I'm so much better than you and I'll pay you to do my bidding. Well, while I'm raiding these lands for their plunder, low key was my plan, so I'm down for that.
[00:13:02] Speaker C: So next you see him after he dipped down another path that Saraya found. You see him run and bump, really like his shoulder throws him off of a tree and he kind of rolls with it. But as he rolls with it, you see two giant. And when I mean, when I say giant, I mean like mechanically large. Six square sized beehives fall and bees just start stinging him as he's running through there.
You can make a fortitude check to endure the stings, or one of you can act quickly, use a survival skill to try and smoke them out with the.
[00:13:50] Speaker D: Can I just. Can I throw a smoke bomb? Yes, I will throw one of my poison smoke bombs.
[00:13:56] Speaker B: Pesticide. What pesticide? You took out all those bees.
[00:14:00] Speaker C: All right, make a. Make an attack roll.
[00:14:03] Speaker D: All righty.
[00:14:05] Speaker C: So Saraya, you throw the smoke bomb in front of you into the wasps or into the bees? Not wasps, into the bees as you were running, and you see them kind of make a hole, you make a little hole for your entire team to get through, and you manage to get through them without getting stung at all, and you manage to catch up to Gerhard. He is within 20ft, and you see him about to jump over a river, when suddenly you hear hooves coming from in front of him and he stops as he's about to jump, and you see twin Talon rearing back on a horse, no saddle, just getting in front of him and stopping him from being able to make the jump, and you all catch up to him. Would you like to roll initiative now, Tammy?
[00:15:01] Speaker B: Looks like. Wait, what?
Oh, yeah, of course.
Let's fuck this guy up.
[00:15:07] Speaker F: Oh, no, I did a dumb. I'm sorry, I did not.
[00:15:11] Speaker D: Let me click on me.
[00:15:12] Speaker F: But I rolled a 16 initiative.
[00:15:16] Speaker E: Yeah, pretty good.
[00:15:19] Speaker D: Twelve.
[00:15:20] Speaker F: Shut up. Dor Stallone.
[00:15:23] Speaker E: Twin Talon rolled a 20.
[00:15:24] Speaker D: 912, just like seems to be my. My initiative number for whatever reason.
[00:15:30] Speaker B: All right, five, baby, 25.
[00:15:32] Speaker C: You're everyone's favorite. Gerhard.
[00:15:36] Speaker B: He's my favorite of all the Gerhard's that I know.
[00:15:40] Speaker E: I can't even say that you actually know Gerhard. No.
[00:15:46] Speaker G: Yeah, Gerhard Johnson. What a great guy.
[00:15:49] Speaker C: Yeah, all right.
Twin Talon, you go first.
[00:15:54] Speaker E: So Twintalon will use nature to against the animals will dc to get the horse to kick him.
[00:16:07] Speaker C: Oh shit.
[00:16:08] Speaker D: Oh, man.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: Goodbye.
[00:16:10] Speaker E: Gerhardt strokes the horse's neck. Think of all those times you were saddled. You'll never do that again.
[00:16:17] Speaker C: What, um, what is it?
[00:16:18] Speaker E: Versus the horses will dc.
[00:16:21] Speaker C: Okay, go ahead and make that.
Yeah.
[00:16:25] Speaker E: 21.
[00:16:28] Speaker C: Great.
[00:16:30] Speaker E: So the hoof is plus seven.
[00:16:35] Speaker D: Like it should be more, but I understand.
[00:16:39] Speaker B: Oh, I thought it was plus seven damage. Never mind. That's not, that's not a tremendous modifier.
[00:16:45] Speaker E: The horse will attack again.
[00:16:47] Speaker C: Okay, 20 will miss.
[00:16:54] Speaker E: And then twin Talon, with his next two actions, will quick draw and stab at Gerhardt. And he is flat footed to twin Talon. I went first.
There's a 31. Hit him.
[00:17:10] Speaker C: I would hope so.
[00:17:11] Speaker E: Does it criticize?
[00:17:12] Speaker C: It does not.
[00:17:13] Speaker E: It's unfortunate.
[00:17:15] Speaker C: Geez, these guys aren't lightweights anymore.
[00:17:18] Speaker E: So he takes 17 damage.
[00:17:20] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:17:21] Speaker E: 21 to hit, I'm guessing misses.
[00:17:24] Speaker C: Yes. 21 will miss even if he's flat footed. Yes.
[00:17:29] Speaker E: All right.
[00:17:31] Speaker C: Timid.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: All right, so Temid slides up on this guy, walks pretty much. He runs straight, straight through Brianna and is standing on the other side of the sky from twin Talon. Okay, I'm gonna try something slightly different than what I normally do. I'm not gonna cast shield this time. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna cast guidance on myself. And it's a verbal, it's a single action verbal component. So he, you know, says whatever prayer says, you know, hide my rapier or whatever he says. And then he attacks with an extra plus one.
[00:18:09] Speaker C: All right, let's see it. 32.
[00:18:13] Speaker B: That's actually plus one. So it's a 33. 33.
[00:18:17] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:18:19] Speaker B: Now, come on.
[00:18:20] Speaker E: He is flat footed. Cause he's flanked.
[00:18:22] Speaker C: Right? Okay, so that takes two off.
[00:18:25] Speaker B: Come on, tell me, tell me that's a hit.
[00:18:29] Speaker C: And that's a hit.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: And it's also a critical. I'm pretty sure that's what, that's what you're saying, right?
[00:18:37] Speaker C: No.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: No. Okay, so I did roll six damage.
[00:18:44] Speaker C: So your rapier swings. And you managed to get him in the, in the chest, but his armor absorbs most of it. It's Gerhard's turn.
So the first thing he's going to do is give up to here. Then he's going, oh, he has to draw.
Okay, I'm gonna say he was not running with the weapon. So he's going to draw his shoddy blunderbuss. No. You know what?
[00:19:20] Speaker F: No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Didn't he have it out? Wasn't he threatening us with it?
[00:19:25] Speaker C: Yes, but when he ran, he probably stowed it.
[00:19:28] Speaker D: Okay, that's fine.
[00:19:30] Speaker C: Uh, he's gonna draw a whip.
[00:19:32] Speaker F: Oh.
[00:19:34] Speaker C: And then he's going to whip, uh, whip.
Whip it real good. Oh, whip.
[00:19:46] Speaker F: It's great.
[00:19:48] Speaker C: He's just gonna draw the whip and then move back a little bit more.
[00:19:54] Speaker D: He's not gonna theatrically crack it once or twice.
[00:19:57] Speaker C: Oh, absolutely.
Exactly.
[00:20:02] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:20:03] Speaker C: Brianna.
[00:20:04] Speaker F: Does Brianna know whether or not people are doing lethal or non lethal damage or attempting to? What are we doing, guys?
[00:20:12] Speaker C: You saw a horse try and kick him twice, and then you saw twin Talon stab him, and then you saw temid slash at him.
[00:20:22] Speaker B: Actually, he stabbed him also, because it's a rapier.
[00:20:24] Speaker C: Hell, yeah. Pierced him with the rapier.
Brianna, hold on, hold on. As soon as you move there with your movement.
[00:20:33] Speaker F: Well, we should probably describe what there is. Our audience cannot see where there's. There is Sobri.
[00:20:40] Speaker C: Anna, let's take you back a little bit. So you're there.
[00:20:44] Speaker F: Ah, where's there?
[00:20:46] Speaker C: You're right there. You're standing next to Temmin, right where you started.
[00:20:51] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:20:53] Speaker C: And you are slowly. Well, not slowly, but you are beginning to move up to Gerhard.
[00:20:59] Speaker F: Yes.
[00:21:00] Speaker C: So go ahead and move the squares one by one so I can tell you to stop.
Stop right there.
[00:21:07] Speaker E: First square.
[00:21:10] Speaker D: 15Ft away. 10ft away.
[00:21:12] Speaker C: 10Ft away from Gerhard. He. The whip lashes out at you as a reaction.
I finally get someone with a react boise, and the whip tries to trip you.
[00:21:26] Speaker E: Notice how he says the whip tries to trip you?
[00:21:28] Speaker F: It's not Gerhard, the most sentient whip noise.
[00:21:34] Speaker B: What?
[00:21:34] Speaker D: As a writer, I don't approve of this passive voice.
[00:21:39] Speaker C: I believe I make an attack at you, and if I hit, it can knock you prone. Uh, I.
[00:21:46] Speaker F: You're asking the wrong person.
[00:21:47] Speaker E: No, it just has the trip, right? Yes, it just has the trip.
[00:21:53] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Sean, I'm sorry.
[00:21:56] Speaker D: Get it right.
[00:21:57] Speaker G: What? The whip allows you to do a trip maneuver from range, I think is the goal.
[00:22:03] Speaker E: Right? It has the trip trait, so you don't have to have a free hand.
[00:22:12] Speaker C: It uses athletics. Why doesn't it give me the athletic staff?
[00:22:17] Speaker G: Well, it's probably just, like, plus negative ten, then.
[00:22:20] Speaker C: All right.
What? Brianna, what is ten plus? Your reflex modifier.
[00:22:27] Speaker F: 2020.
[00:22:30] Speaker C: No, you're not. You're not gonna fall.
[00:22:32] Speaker F: I'm little, but I am heavy.
[00:22:35] Speaker C: The whip lashes out and misses you. You may continue your movement.
[00:22:40] Speaker F: That's what I thought. Little man, get over here.
[00:22:44] Speaker C: Go over here.
[00:22:48] Speaker F: And I guess since we're all slashing.
Is it a critical miss?
How's 17?
[00:23:01] Speaker C: That's a miss.
It is not.
[00:23:06] Speaker F: Whew. Then as my last action, I will swing again for a 21 that will miss. Stop being so squirmy, little man.
[00:23:22] Speaker G: Watcher will move. He can move right up to him with one move action.
[00:23:27] Speaker C: Oh, he's gonna try and trip you when you get 10ft away.
[00:23:32] Speaker E: Reactions.
[00:23:32] Speaker C: Oh, no, he can only do that once. Never mind, you make it all the way there.
[00:23:37] Speaker G: You're not very proficient in the savored sting's favored weapon, are you?
[00:23:42] Speaker A: Who.
[00:23:45] Speaker G: Drops his halberd on the way.
[00:23:47] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:23:48] Speaker G: And with nothing in his hands will attempt to disarm him. Okay, make an athletics check against your reflex. DC.
[00:23:57] Speaker C: Make that roll.
[00:23:59] Speaker G: 26.
[00:24:01] Speaker C: 26 will do it.
[00:24:04] Speaker F: Yes.
[00:24:05] Speaker G: So that is a success.
[00:24:07] Speaker C: That is a success.
[00:24:08] Speaker G: Okay, so that means I weaken his grip on the item until the start of his next turn. Attempts to disarm the opponent, gain a plus two circumstance bonus, and the target takes a minus two circumstance penalty to attacks with the item or other checks. So basically I have my hand on his wrist when he is fluffing around, around with that whip.
[00:24:31] Speaker C: Alright?
[00:24:32] Speaker G: But I also have another. I have another action. So I'm gonna attempt to disarm again.
[00:24:37] Speaker E: Okay, that takes a negative five because it has the attack trait.
[00:24:40] Speaker G: Right? So this should be whatever I get, minus five, right?
Ooh, that's only an eleven.
[00:24:46] Speaker C: That will critically fail.
[00:24:52] Speaker B: Does that mean now he has two weapons?
[00:24:54] Speaker C: No, that means he, pondwatcher, loses his balance and becomes flat footed.
Saraya.
[00:25:04] Speaker D: Jesus.
Do do do. Well, she can also get over to him in a single move, I believe.
[00:25:11] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:25:12] Speaker D: Or she can get at least next to Vibriana, I think it's 35ft to get to his other side. So she can get about years, she'll actually move in again, even though it's not entirely necessary. And also try to disarm. Okay, she doesn't really bomb seem like a bad idea.
She doesn't really know what else to do.
That's an athletics check.
[00:25:39] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:25:40] Speaker D: She's not very good at this. Ready?
[00:25:42] Speaker C: A seven critically failed. You are also flat footed.
[00:25:47] Speaker D: If I take damage.
[00:25:54] Speaker B: You could sneak attack all of them.
[00:25:55] Speaker D: Now.
[00:25:59] Speaker C: Take them out, wipe them out.
[00:26:01] Speaker E: Never a man so tempted.
All right, so first thing, twin Talon is going to request that the horse move him to the other side of field. Roll Lockhart.
[00:26:14] Speaker D: I love that. It's just become his name.
[00:26:16] Speaker E: 26 horses. The worldly sea of the horse.
[00:26:19] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:26:20] Speaker E: He will trot around to the opposite side.
The horse does. Quintel doesn't know anything. He's just asking the horse to do stuff. And then he will.
Yeah, he'll attack him.
[00:26:36] Speaker C: 29.
[00:26:37] Speaker E: 29 versus flat footed ac will hit. It's still on a crit.
[00:26:42] Speaker C: No.
All right.
[00:26:46] Speaker E: So that's 16 damage.
All right, 26.
So that does 23 damage.
[00:26:58] Speaker F: Oh, my gosh.
[00:26:59] Speaker C: Heaven.
[00:27:01] Speaker E: Just pick them apart.
[00:27:02] Speaker C: Yeah, you just see he's starting to, like, squirt blood from everywhere.
[00:27:06] Speaker B: So temid feeling something inside him now, because this guy, you know, it's against his faith to turn down a drink from someone trying to be kind to you. So he has a crisis of faith. So he causes this guy to have a crisis of faith, and so he casts a spell. Crisis of faith. Basically, it's a 20. I'm sorry. I was just trying to be dramatic. It's a. DC 22 will save.
[00:27:34] Speaker C: Will save.
[00:27:35] Speaker B: DC 22 will save. Also, quick question. Does he cast divine spells?
[00:27:40] Speaker C: No.
[00:27:41] Speaker B: Okay, so DC 22 will save.
[00:27:44] Speaker C: He fails.
[00:27:45] Speaker B: Wait, that's a fail. That's a crit fail, right?
[00:27:49] Speaker E: No, we can't see the roll.
[00:27:51] Speaker C: Oh, I rolled nine. He has a plus eleven. That's 20.
[00:27:55] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sorry. I saw the eight in the chat, and I thought that that was. I'm sorry. I got excited. Okay, so he takes 66 damage.
[00:28:02] Speaker C: Oh, jeez.
66?
[00:28:06] Speaker F: That's what he said. Yeah.
[00:28:08] Speaker D: 66 damage.
[00:28:11] Speaker C: Flat damage.
[00:28:11] Speaker F: Cool.
[00:28:12] Speaker B: He takes 19 points of damage.
[00:28:17] Speaker C: All right, so he looks.
[00:28:19] Speaker B: Mental damage.
[00:28:21] Speaker C: He looks shaken and doesn't know what to do, and he drops his whip, that pond watcher has in his hand, and he reaches around for free. He drops it. He draws his blunderbuss.
[00:28:36] Speaker B: So that was two skit. That was two. Two act.
[00:28:39] Speaker C: Oh, I'm sorry. What's your third action?
[00:28:40] Speaker B: Third action. He calls out to him and the cashield, he tries to tell this guy, like he says, um, stand down. We have you surrounded and outclassed. And I think that's a diplomacy to.
[00:29:02] Speaker E: See if he, like, you, can't do that in combat.
[00:29:05] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. It's a 1 minute. You're absolutely right.
[00:29:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:29:08] Speaker B: Okay, so he's just cash shield.
[00:29:14] Speaker C: Now, as I was saying, very dramatically, Gerhard Pendergast looks down at his hands, looks up at the group surrounding him, and doesn't know what to do. So he drops the whip for free, draws the blunderbuss for one action.
[00:29:29] Speaker G: Hey, free whip.
[00:29:31] Speaker C: And fires it in front of him. Everyone in a 30 foot cone.
[00:29:37] Speaker B: That's op.
[00:29:39] Speaker C: So that's op.
[00:29:39] Speaker E: Not really. He can get one of us?
[00:29:41] Speaker C: Yeah. He gets Pond watcher. Unfortunately. Just pond watcher.
[00:29:45] Speaker G: Bring it on.
[00:29:46] Speaker C: It deals.
[00:29:47] Speaker E: Guy who jostled my whip take the fury of my blunderbuss.
[00:29:50] Speaker B: I thought you said 30 foot cone.
[00:29:53] Speaker E: Yeah, but the. But the first point of a cone is always one square. Yeah, because he's adjacent to all four of us. He could hit one of us.
[00:30:02] Speaker C: And I can't be you as well, right?
[00:30:06] Speaker G: That's, like, literally in your face, grabbing your stuff.
[00:30:09] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, no. I shoot you, but I also get timid in that 30.
[00:30:13] Speaker E: You do not.
[00:30:14] Speaker B: Not pond. Not Pond watcher. Only Brianna.
[00:30:17] Speaker C: Right.
[00:30:17] Speaker G: If you were to shoot Brienne, you.
[00:30:19] Speaker E: Would get both of them. Pond watcher. You just get pawn watcher.
[00:30:22] Speaker C: All right, well, I'm just gonna get. I'm just gonna get pawn watcher because he's the one who's been, you know, eat those bullets.
[00:30:30] Speaker G: I'm gonna spit them out.
[00:30:31] Speaker C: So give me a reflex save.
[00:30:35] Speaker G: Really? Well, I can tell. 24.
[00:30:39] Speaker E: Nice.
[00:30:40] Speaker C: So you are taking all the damage.
[00:30:44] Speaker G: Like, one d, four damage. Got it.
[00:30:48] Speaker C: So you first take 13 bludgeoning damage.
[00:30:54] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:30:55] Speaker C: Oh. Minus five, because your liberty stepped.
[00:30:58] Speaker E: And then you can move if you want.
[00:30:59] Speaker C: While you also take 14 fire damage from that as well.
[00:31:04] Speaker B: Are you kidding me?
[00:31:05] Speaker C: No.
[00:31:06] Speaker B: That's two sevens on. On a. What a freaking lucky.
[00:31:09] Speaker G: All right, so 13 damage and then 14 damage.
[00:31:13] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:31:13] Speaker F: And then subtract five from all that.
[00:31:15] Speaker C: Does he subtract five from each because they're two separate damage sources?
[00:31:20] Speaker F: No, because I can only cast it.
[00:31:24] Speaker E: Okay, it's the. So the damage is him. He's the source of damage. His gun. So it would be five off the total.
[00:31:32] Speaker G: So pond washer tape tanks it and just glares at him and doesn't look fazed at all.
[00:31:38] Speaker C: Okay, so now, just so you guys know what's happening here, this as, since you guys are so close. And he just shot this blunderbuss off right in front of you guys. You know, notice that it doesn't look that great of a blunderbuss. You would almost call it a shoddy blunderbuss. So now he must succeed at a crafting or engineering check. Or else it'll explode.
[00:32:01] Speaker E: Unless it kills us. Yeah.
[00:32:03] Speaker B: I'm glad I'm over here away from everybody.
[00:32:06] Speaker F: So, wait, it's goblin made?
[00:32:08] Speaker G: Like, essentially, someone's gonna find this clearing fill of exploded bodies and really be very confused about what happened.
[00:32:18] Speaker C: I failed. I rolled a 16.
[00:32:22] Speaker G: Oh, boy.
[00:32:24] Speaker C: And I'm rolling this out in front of everyone. You should all be able to see the numbers yeah.
[00:32:28] Speaker B: What's the DC?
[00:32:29] Speaker E: That 220.
[00:32:30] Speaker D: And it's a two on the die for a failure.
[00:32:33] Speaker E: Plus 14. He just had to get a six. So, Sean, what are the rules for the blunderbuss exploding?
[00:32:39] Speaker C: I'm reading right now. I'm double checking it. It says that it just explodes in his hands and it destroys itself. It deals the same amount of damage to him that it dealt to the target.
[00:32:55] Speaker E: Plus two. D ten.
[00:32:57] Speaker C: He takes 13 and 14.
[00:32:59] Speaker B: Nice. Is Brianna gonna liberating step him?
[00:33:04] Speaker E: I mean, she wants to, but she only gets one reaction. Turn.
[00:33:08] Speaker C: And you see that the ends of his handlebar mustache singed as the blunderbuss is just broken and in pieces.
And his face.
[00:33:23] Speaker D: I'm just imagining the full on Elmer foot, like, split barrel.
[00:33:26] Speaker C: Yes, I was gonna say. And his face is covered in black soot. Brianna, it is your turn.
[00:33:33] Speaker F: Uh, ugh. Kind of want to just take a step back, be like, oh, you poor soul. But, uh, he. He was rude to all of us. I'mma just keep thwacking him. How's a 33?
[00:33:48] Speaker C: That sounds like a hit.
[00:33:49] Speaker F: Awesome. How about some ten damage?
[00:33:52] Speaker C: He is bleeding profusely. As you slice into the center of his chest, you see where he was holding the blunderbuss? There's just a giant hole in his armor that you just find, and you forcefully sweep through there, piercing him.
[00:34:08] Speaker F: I will hold that next to actions as she will look to pond watchers. And technically, we gave chase because he started chasing.
So she'll kind of look over her shoulder, be like, is this enough?
[00:34:19] Speaker C: So you can. You can ready an action with two actions that and yet me parameters, if you'd like.
Sure.
[00:34:27] Speaker F: If I see that Gerhard is going to do some sort of other attack on my friend, then she will attack, essentially.
[00:34:37] Speaker C: Okay, pawn watcher, you're up.
[00:34:40] Speaker G: So this man just basically emptied a shotgun into my stomach, and then it exploded on him?
[00:34:45] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:34:48] Speaker G: Pond Watcher had already dropped his weapon, so he looks down to the cinder claw gauntlet on his hand.
[00:34:54] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[00:34:56] Speaker G: You've had your chance to apologize. And he swings once with his fist towards his. This gentleman's face for a 33.
[00:35:07] Speaker C: That'll hit. Oh, my God, we're all rolling.
[00:35:10] Speaker G: Well, so that deals nine damage.
[00:35:13] Speaker C: The gauntlet. You punch him square in the face, and he just collapses.
[00:35:22] Speaker B: We did it, guys. We beat this guy to death for being conscious.
[00:35:26] Speaker G: Or does he seem dead or what I believe.
[00:35:30] Speaker C: Oh, no. Gauntlet does lethal. Unless you don't want it to do lethal, then you can always un say will do control. You you don't have to kill him, but you definitely, you definitely broke his nose and orbital bone. And there are a couple teeth on the end of that gauntlet. Yeah.
[00:35:46] Speaker G: I mean, this is more of a lesson than a. Like a murder.
[00:35:51] Speaker E: Well, is the lesson that you're gonna get murdered in the jungle? Is that what the lesson was?
[00:35:56] Speaker G: I mean, the lesson is you're. You deserve to die, but I'm too morally pure to let it happen.
[00:36:03] Speaker E: He's still dying one, right?
[00:36:05] Speaker B: Yeah, he seems like an NPC, so yeah, I'll just like heal.
[00:36:11] Speaker C: Okay, you are out of combat. Unless you guys want to like curb stomp on, I think.
[00:36:16] Speaker G: No, I think. I think Pond Watcher has been sated by this because he's fulfilled his mandate of never letting something slide. And now he made his point and he, he does, he's not malicious. He's not gonna continue.
[00:36:29] Speaker C: Okay, so he is definitely on the ground bleeding out.
[00:36:35] Speaker D: What is that? What's the movie where the quote is like, the Bible is somewhat fuzzier?
[00:36:38] Speaker C: On the subject of kneecaps, I believe that's Firefly.
[00:36:43] Speaker D: Okay, yeah, something.
[00:36:44] Speaker C: I knew it was something like that, but so timid. You stabilize him, I'm assuming?
[00:36:49] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I don't even know if I need to roll. I have a plus 15 and I could get a 20 if I take assurance.
[00:36:56] Speaker C: So.
[00:37:00] Speaker F: Look away.
[00:37:02] Speaker E: Yeah. Twin Talon is going to cut off his shirt and pants, boots. Nobody deserves to be bootless.
But he'll take his. Anything he's got, basically.
[00:37:18] Speaker G: Take his gun and his. His weapons.
[00:37:21] Speaker E: Yeah, I'll take his broken gun and his whip and whatever else he's got.
[00:37:24] Speaker C: You get a shoddy blunderbuss, ten daggers, ten grape shot, ten gunpowder.
You remove his plastic. Plus one leather armor. You remove his monocle.
[00:37:39] Speaker G: Oh, you gotta give that to me, bro.
[00:37:43] Speaker C: Five tinder twigs and pond water. He dropped the plus one striking whip that he had.
[00:37:52] Speaker G: Oh boy.
[00:37:53] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:37:56] Speaker G: It's a holy symbol of my goddess.
[00:37:58] Speaker C: You also, we see a bag that was slung on his back and what's in that?
As you reach in there, you pull out three kegs.
[00:38:10] Speaker B: Go on.
[00:38:11] Speaker C: Of black powder.
Dammit.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: Still tries to drink from them.
[00:38:17] Speaker C: Let me reiterate this. In a backpack he had three kegs of black powder.
[00:38:23] Speaker E: I want to look into the backpack. Does it look bigger on the inside?
[00:38:27] Speaker C: Yes, it does.
[00:38:29] Speaker B: Cast searing light on them.
[00:38:31] Speaker C: No.
[00:38:33] Speaker G: Timid kills everyone within 25ft.
Timid reenacts what's been happening in every New York City neighborhood for the past two months.
[00:38:45] Speaker D: And New Jersey.
[00:38:46] Speaker C: Yeah.
Anyone is knowledgeable in, oh, I don't know, Arcana or.
[00:38:58] Speaker D: 21? Arcana only 20.
[00:39:00] Speaker G: That's, that's not that much worse.
[00:39:06] Speaker C: Okay, so pond Watcher and Saraya, you guys know that that is a bag of holding type one.
[00:39:15] Speaker G: Oh my God. Soraya, thank you for teaching me how to look for magic stuff.
[00:39:20] Speaker E: You didn't even have your hatchet.
[00:39:21] Speaker G: Yes, I threw that into the woods like three weeks ago. Yeah, it wasn't showing me what I wanted. It was too much of a scorpio. I couldn't trust it.
[00:39:35] Speaker D: No, well, I was gonna say, you realize our GM is a Scorpio.
[00:39:38] Speaker G: Oh, that makes so much sense.
[00:39:40] Speaker D: The other question I wanted to ask is, is the monocle magical or is he just wearing it to be a douche?
[00:39:46] Speaker C: He has astigmatism in one eye. Yes. No, it's not magical. Dammit.
[00:39:50] Speaker B: Okay, no los dos.
[00:39:51] Speaker D: If no one else wants it, Jasper absolutely takes the monocle.
[00:39:54] Speaker G: I feel like Pondwatcher and Jasper have a moment where it goes back and forth, but then pond watcher's like, you know what? You deserve this.
[00:40:01] Speaker C: It's the kill bill.
[00:40:02] Speaker D: Sirens between pondwatcher and Jasper's beep, beep, beep.
[00:40:07] Speaker G: You deserve this, buddy.
[00:40:08] Speaker B: You've done so much.
[00:40:09] Speaker G: We haven't given you a ton of stuff. You deserve this. Okay.
[00:40:13] Speaker D: You know, Jennifer is rapidly, just because of his size, is rapidly becoming the most blinged out member of the party. He's got his little gauntlet like neck armor, helmet. He's got his little monocle now that he's gonna wear like a necklace. He's also, oh, doesn't. He has the orcs too.
[00:40:28] Speaker F: He does orcs.
[00:40:29] Speaker D: False goal too.
[00:40:30] Speaker G: We're basically making it. We're making him into like a medieval predator drone.
[00:40:36] Speaker D: He's just, he just, he's a crow. He loves his shiny things. He's a raven.
[00:40:42] Speaker C: So I'm going to static. I'm going to assume you're all going to go back to that totem and the boat, right?
[00:40:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm good here.
[00:40:50] Speaker C: Oh yeah. What are you doing with Gerhard? Are you leaving him there?
[00:40:53] Speaker E: No, twin. Twin Talon would, would take him back. If also twin Talon, once the fight is over, is going to get down off the horse.
[00:41:00] Speaker C: Okay?
[00:41:01] Speaker E: And if no one else will, then twin Talon will carry Gerhard back just to throw him in the wagon.
[00:41:08] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. He's unconscious. He's stabilized. You bring him back to like zero hit points. So he's stable. He's.
You kind of like sack him over your shoulder and you head back to where you first met him. You avoid the bees this time and the mud.
[00:41:24] Speaker G: Should we do something with the totem pole before we deal with this unconscious man?
[00:41:32] Speaker E: I think you should break it.
[00:41:35] Speaker G: I agree. Wow. I knew I liked you. I want to jump onto the wagon that he brought and do a flying elbow drop onto the soda bowl.
[00:41:46] Speaker C: So you. Well, pawn Watcher is ceremonially breaking this pillar.
[00:41:53] Speaker G: It's my religion, and it involves the macho man. Don't ask any questions.
[00:41:58] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Um.
[00:42:01] Speaker G: I am the cream of the crop.
That was an awkward, awkward thing. It's a macho man thing. Come on, come on.
[00:42:14] Speaker B: No, we. We get it. It's just that I was too busy laughing away from the mic.
[00:42:19] Speaker G: We're just, like, really disturbed by your love of the macho man.
[00:42:26] Speaker C: So, you guys, well, pond watcher is destroying this totem.
[00:42:31] Speaker G: You find piece of history that could be in a museum in tell door.
[00:42:35] Speaker C: You guys find the boat right at the edge of the river that Gerhard was trying to load it onto. Can the rest of you who have Gerhard and are on the boat give me a perception check?
[00:42:49] Speaker B: 22 for timid.
[00:42:50] Speaker E: 27 for twintalum, 26 for Vienna.
[00:42:54] Speaker D: 18.
[00:42:56] Speaker C: Okay, so you look at this boat, and you think you could use the boat to go up and down the river if you wanted to.
But other than that, as you kind of start looking around it, you see a small bindle stuffed up in the bow that contains some things that look like they were found on previous expeditions. You find several golden idols of jungle animals. You see some weird. Not weird. You see some cloth hand wraps. You find a thurble of revelation, and you find a jade serpent figurine.
[00:43:39] Speaker B: So when I looked up the word thurible, it then said a sensor. And then I had to look up what a sensor is.
[00:43:46] Speaker D: Oh, like. Like an incense sensor that.
[00:43:48] Speaker G: You're not Catholic. Yeah, don't know.
[00:43:51] Speaker B: I am not Catholic. No.
[00:43:53] Speaker E: It shows.
[00:43:54] Speaker G: They give us those to fight the zombies.
[00:43:59] Speaker B: Oh, cool.
[00:44:00] Speaker E: Okay, that's your confirmation. You're given one.
[00:44:02] Speaker G: You need this to fight the zombies?
[00:44:05] Speaker D: Yes. You have to solemnly swear to fight in the zombie wars on the side of Christianity.
[00:44:11] Speaker C: Okay, before we offend and lose.
[00:44:15] Speaker E: So is this a lesser or a moderate or a greater?
[00:44:19] Speaker C: A lesser. And just because we're kind of breezing through, because with enough time and enough mice and enough typewriters, the hat that's plus one striking handwraps of mighty blows. The six idols are made of gold, and each one is worth 25 gold pieces. And it. It's a jade serpent wondrous figurine.
[00:44:46] Speaker D: Those are usually fun.
[00:44:46] Speaker C: Does anyone flip through the journals that you found?
So as you're flipping through the journals, you hear the explosion of wood from pondwatchers area, and you hear him yell something about snapping into a slim jim. And then as you look through the journals, you find that all of these items were quote unquote, saved from savages in previous exposition expeditions. He also indicates in there that there is an ancient temple in this area that clashes with my own personal claims about the history of the Wangi expanse. It must not be allowed to survive. I must collapse it to keep my.
To keep my legacy intact.
And there's a little map that he has drawn, and I'm going to uncover it on the hex map so you know where you're supposed to go.
[00:45:51] Speaker B: Awesome.
[00:45:52] Speaker E: I'm guessing that's why he was carrying the kegs of powder.
[00:45:55] Speaker C: You also see mention in there that he has sent his brother ahead to plant the explosives.
[00:46:03] Speaker F: Guys, looks like he had a brother. And he's going ahead to this temple to rig explosives. I'm going to hold on to these journals, and the next time we go back home, find a way to expose this man as the fraud he is. As that is one of my tenants of serenity, to always be able to find truth and speak truth.
[00:46:29] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:46:29] Speaker G: You should punish him for what he's done. I support this 110%.
[00:46:35] Speaker F: Thank you, pun watcher.
[00:46:36] Speaker B: So with that, well, actually, I'm sorry, I have a question.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: Yes?
[00:46:44] Speaker B: The figurines, the animal figurines, do they look like any of them may belong to anyone that we have come across to this point? Like, are there any elephant ones that may belong to the elephant people or something of that nature?
[00:46:56] Speaker C: No, there's mostly cats.
So there's, like, a jaguar and a panther. There's two of those. And then the. There is a snake, and there is a monkey and two frogs.
[00:47:15] Speaker F: I feel like we've run into this previously. We've definitely found one.
[00:47:20] Speaker D: I'd like to at least show them to the ekuje and see if they could say they had gold at one point, but it, like, it's gone now.
[00:47:27] Speaker E: It was very confusing. It was confusing. I think that they were slaves and they were made to mine gold by the cinder claw.
[00:47:36] Speaker D: Probably the people who are doing that with the cobbles now.
[00:47:39] Speaker F: Yeah, well, either way, it'd be good to bring this back to them.
[00:47:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Maybe they'll know who it might belong to if it does belong to somebody. I feel like he's been plundering this area. And I don't know, maybe it might be nice to kind of give back to the people that have been kind and hosting us.
[00:47:59] Speaker D: It could just be that he looted them from this temple that he wants to destroy also.
[00:48:03] Speaker B: Very true. Yeah.
[00:48:03] Speaker C: So, well, after that, what are you doing with Gerhard?
[00:48:08] Speaker E: So twin Talon is going to very carefully shave off his, his mustache and beard.
[00:48:17] Speaker C: Oh no.
[00:48:18] Speaker E: And does he have mustache wax, I'm assuming with him somewhere?
[00:48:22] Speaker C: Look at that guy.
[00:48:23] Speaker E: And he's going to very heavily wax it before he does it so that it comes off like intact together.
[00:48:30] Speaker D: Oh my God, are you taking a trophy?
[00:48:34] Speaker E: Well, we want to make sure that his brother knows that we're serious.
[00:48:39] Speaker C: Oh my God.
[00:48:40] Speaker B: I like this a lot better than taking his thumbs or his ears or something.
[00:48:44] Speaker E: Yeah, and those could be anybody's thumbs or ears, but when you see someone's facial hair, you know that's your brother's face.
[00:48:50] Speaker D: That's true.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: You know what?
[00:48:52] Speaker D: So I guess we don't want to tie his hands behind his back, put a vial of graveroot in his mouth, and tell him to be extra careful until his brother comes back.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: No.
[00:49:00] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:49:00] Speaker E: Had his brother off at the pass. Yeah, that's a little dark, by the way.
I think we should probably head his brother off of the pass of blowing up whatever he's thinking about blowing up. Where is that on the map? Shaun, is that the one with the blue ring or the blue ring?
[00:49:14] Speaker C: Yes. Okay.
[00:49:15] Speaker D: Okay. So that's actually it. We could do that in a day.
[00:49:19] Speaker E: It's northeast of us now. It's past the totem we were at last time.
[00:49:23] Speaker D: Yeah, so we don't need to explore that one thoroughly. We can kind of just rush through and go through two hexes in a day.
[00:49:29] Speaker E: And did our friend find anything in the hex to the north of us?
[00:49:33] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:49:33] Speaker C: So she comes back, renewally comes back and tells you all about her wonderful adventure, where she saw a magnificent ebony winged man.
That they were. They had a wonderful conversation and that.
[00:49:54] Speaker B: They were getting married, aren't they?
[00:49:56] Speaker C: But they said they had to leave because they were late to deliver a message and. And they.
It. They left and she came back here.
[00:50:09] Speaker E: An ebony winged man.
[00:50:12] Speaker C: Ebony winged human form.
[00:50:15] Speaker B: Are the wings ebony or is the person ebony?
[00:50:17] Speaker C: The person is ebony. The wings were. Are golden and orange and gold.
[00:50:22] Speaker E: Does that also, does that ring any bells for anybody?
[00:50:26] Speaker C: Um.
[00:50:27] Speaker D: Da. Glory.
[00:50:29] Speaker E: Sounds like it's an angel or a demon.
[00:50:31] Speaker B: Elven lore, knowledge, religion. I mean, uh, religion.
Okay, I am trained.
[00:50:40] Speaker D: I am trained, but I rolled for shit. That's a twelve.
[00:50:43] Speaker C: Not enough.
[00:50:44] Speaker D: There we go. Timid.
[00:50:45] Speaker C: Timid with a 29. That description to you, timid reminds you of a angel.
[00:50:56] Speaker B: That description, to me, reminds me of an angel. Guys.
[00:51:00] Speaker F: Well, Renault, did he say or does this person give a name or a purpose? What exactly was your conversation about?
[00:51:09] Speaker C: Spoke. And his name was. Oh, my goodness. Chioma.
[00:51:18] Speaker D: Chioma.
[00:51:19] Speaker B: Choma. Chioma.
Kayoma.
[00:51:23] Speaker C: Kayoma.
[00:51:24] Speaker B: I want to call him Kayama because I like Kayama.
[00:51:27] Speaker C: They said their name was Kayoma.
[00:51:29] Speaker B: Are you sure it's not pronounced Kiyoma?
I'm just being a dick now. Sorry.
[00:51:34] Speaker F: I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that correctly. So it is a real.
[00:51:38] Speaker C: Oh, I'm sure it is that with.
[00:51:42] Speaker D: With Tevin's 29, does that ring any more bells for him?
[00:51:45] Speaker C: No.
Nope.
[00:51:47] Speaker E: But it was sending a message.
[00:51:49] Speaker D: They were.
[00:51:50] Speaker C: They were taking a message.
[00:51:51] Speaker E: I mean, how far has an angel have fallen to be a postman? Like, I don't understand. Like, what would they be doing here? Just delivering messages for people?
[00:52:02] Speaker D: Could be between other spirits. Especially if Dahawk is.
[00:52:06] Speaker B: Does that. Does that 29 help me in any way understand what the. You know, why the angel would be here?
[00:52:12] Speaker E: Does it seem weird or does it seem normal? Or. He doesn't get it.
[00:52:15] Speaker D: He's actually just Pathfinder. Hermes.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: Guys, it's normal. Guys. I see angels all the time. Especially when I drink.
[00:52:25] Speaker E: So you're like the dude.
[00:52:25] Speaker B: Speaking of which, he. He wants to make sure that he shares a drink with the blunderbuss guy, whose name I'm just not gonna remember cuz I don't care about him anymore.
Blunderbuss guy?
So he puts a mug up to his lips while he's passed out, and then he takes a sip out of the mug and he's like, all right, shared a drink with the guy. I'm good. That was the whole purpose of the chase. Just to do that.
[00:52:50] Speaker D: This is why I'm glad Saraya is talking to Jasper as she says this is very glad I don't have any social obligations.
[00:52:57] Speaker C: Rennuli also says that the angel was looking to deliver a message to the ekuje and find some plants as a wizard that they work with.
[00:53:13] Speaker E: Bury the lead.
[00:53:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I know.
[00:53:18] Speaker C: Okay, Bernoulli.
[00:53:21] Speaker B: Don't you think that was important to tell us in the first place?
[00:53:23] Speaker A: I was kidding there.
[00:53:25] Speaker B: All right? I'm sorry.
[00:53:27] Speaker G: You're the worst unpaid scout we've ever had.
[00:53:32] Speaker C: So with that. Actually, if you guys aren't gonna move for the rest of the day, because it's you've had a long, arduous day of chasing people. Give me a survival check for the camp.
[00:53:44] Speaker E: Timin is primary timid.
[00:53:47] Speaker F: I found a stick.
[00:53:50] Speaker E: 14.
[00:53:51] Speaker B: I got a 15.
[00:53:52] Speaker E: Wow.
[00:53:55] Speaker B: So we get a plus two. So it's a 17. It's a four plus four.
[00:54:00] Speaker E: Okay, so 19 is not good.
[00:54:03] Speaker C: In fact, I dare say that this is a fail.
[00:54:10] Speaker E: Yeah. Cause we need like a 32 or 33 to crit succeed. So.
[00:54:14] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:54:15] Speaker C: So I need all of you to give me a fortitude saving throw.
[00:54:24] Speaker F: 28.
[00:54:25] Speaker C: Okay, nice.
[00:54:27] Speaker B: 21.
[00:54:29] Speaker C: All right.
Okay.
[00:54:31] Speaker E: Natural one.
[00:54:33] Speaker D: No, 29.
[00:54:37] Speaker C: Okay, so you all sleep for the night. You heal up your constitution modifier times your. I'm sure temid also topped everyone off. And you all wake up feeling great. Except actually. No, you all wake up feeling great, actually.
[00:54:55] Speaker B: I don't believe you.
[00:54:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:59] Speaker D: Onset times.
[00:55:02] Speaker B: Just randomly cast removed disease on a random character. Like, I don't know, twin Talon, maybe.
[00:55:07] Speaker E: Yeah. And we can prove that it's random because he could have picked anybody, but he picked me. So there you go.
[00:55:12] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:55:15] Speaker E: Moving on.
[00:55:17] Speaker C: Where are you all headed?
[00:55:19] Speaker E: I say we go try to find the brother.
[00:55:21] Speaker D: Yeah. Towards the temple going.
[00:55:26] Speaker C: North and then northeast. Are you going northeast and then north? How are you guys getting there? Are you going back to where the first pillar that you destroyed was and then up north? Or are you going.
[00:55:37] Speaker B: My vote. Oh, excuse me. My vote would be to go north immediately north. Because even though it's unlikely we might run into that angel again, I mean, well, we would. We never ran into that angel, but we know the angel was there and we've already explored the other part.
[00:55:52] Speaker E: Mike. My worry is that we're not going to make it to the second hex in one day if we go through one we haven't explored yet. Unless renewally exploring it counts as us exploring it.
[00:56:02] Speaker D: I mean, unless we want to scour.
[00:56:04] Speaker B: So I thought the hex being exposed on the map kind of meant that it was explored, so, yeah, I guess.
[00:56:11] Speaker D: We could go either way. And we haven't personally been through the direct north.
[00:56:16] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:56:17] Speaker D: Does that work for everybody?
[00:56:18] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm just worried that if we don't go, if we don't make haste to the guy who's gonna blow something up, that he's gonna blow it up before we get there.
[00:56:26] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. That's true, I. I guess.
[00:56:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:56:30] Speaker D: Like, theoretically, we know the northeast is safe, right?
[00:56:32] Speaker E: We know the path of the northeast. So that would be the most expedient path. I understand the impetus to go north because we haven't been there. We might catch the angel, but if that's gonna short us time getting where we need to go, I feel like getting there is more important.
[00:56:48] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true. And yeah, we could circle back, and we know that the angels headed towards the Akuja anyway, so at worst case scenario, we might meet up with the angel there. Okay, I'm convinced. Let's do it.
[00:56:58] Speaker C: So you all head where Gerhard's brother is supposed to be.
As you approach, you see an identical looking man, and he just has the most smug smile.
And you see that there is a. There are three lines leading out from the cave to a box with a plunger on it. And we will find out what happens next week.
[00:57:34] Speaker B: Is it a toilet plunger?
