[00:00:39] Speaker A: Hello everyone, and welcome back for the next episode of the Cracked Die podcast. My name is Matt. I play twin Talon on the show. If you joined us this past weekend for our Twitch stream, you will know that we announced that we will be doing a second adventure path. That's right. I will be helming the agents of Edgewatch adventure path, running it for our Twitch crew, Haya, Sean, Pete, and Brent, that will begin live on Twitch on August 29. We will then be cutting it down into three parts per Twitch show and releasing that as an audio only podcast. The podcast episodes will start dropping in early October, so if you're the type.
[00:01:21] Speaker B: Of person that listens to this on.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: Their way to work, if you're really into audio only, don't really get into the video aspect. We got you. We'll still be releasing both shows in audio format as well as the Twitch show being live every three weeks on Twitch. It's my birthday today. Well, not the day you're listening to this, but the day I'm recording it, which may not mean much, but it means that I get to choose what.
[00:01:47] Speaker B: We listen to this week.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: And I chose rather than a normal episode to give you a quick insight.
[00:01:53] Speaker B: Into twin Talonon's past.
[00:01:55] Speaker A: So sit back and relax for episode 46. A visions from the dark side eyes.
[00:02:03] Speaker B: Of the storm ushered the young woman into her tent. Her nervous young husband gave the holy woman a weak smile as she closed the flap of the tent and secured it.
[00:02:12] Speaker C: Why do you come to me, young one?
[00:02:15] Speaker B: The old woman said softly.
[00:02:17] Speaker D: I'm with child.
[00:02:18] Speaker B: Our first, the young woman began.
[00:02:20] Speaker D: My husband and I wanted to get your guidance on how well that is what to expect.
[00:02:27] Speaker B: Eyes of the storm puffed on her pipe, looking appraisingly at the woman before her. Her belly was slightly swollen, and if it were colder, heavier clothes may have obscured it altogether.
[00:02:39] Speaker C: With knowledge of the future comes the burden of that knowledge. Knowing what may be without the ability to change one's fate or the fate of one's kin, is more than some can bear.
[00:02:53] Speaker B: She puffed a few more times on her pipe, watching the woman's face.
[00:02:57] Speaker C: Are you certain that you want to know?
[00:03:01] Speaker B: The woman nodded.
[00:03:02] Speaker D: Knowing is better than not knowing, grandmother.
[00:03:05] Speaker C: Very well.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Eyes of the storm placed her smoldering pipe in a wooden tray, which had seemingly been carved for that purpose.
[00:03:12] Speaker C: What is your name?
[00:03:14] Speaker B: Steelwind, the woman replied.
[00:03:16] Speaker A: No, child, your birth name, the old woman said sternly.
[00:03:21] Speaker B: Taluta, grandmother, Steelwind said nervously.
[00:03:24] Speaker C: Henna, Father Makua.
[00:03:27] Speaker B: The old woman grunted.
[00:03:29] Speaker C: Hold my hands, girl, and no matter what happens.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: She leaned in close and then said.
[00:03:35] Speaker E: With a hoarse whisper, don't let go.
[00:03:39] Speaker B: The old woman closed her eyes and began to chant and rock back and forth. As she continued, the wind inside of the tent seemed to pick up, and before long swirling mists had formed. The fire in the center of the tent waved wildly as the wind picked up and whipped the flames about. The oracle's eyes snapped open, electricity dancing and jumping along her eyelashes. Eyes of the storm spoke in a harsh whisper.
[00:04:07] Speaker E: Three. There will be two as one and one as the second. Ten plus two between all three will meet great darkness. The first will meet the darkness head on. They will be as the hippogriff, using every tool at their disposal, claw and hoof and wing, to blaze a trail straight through. The second will become swallowed by the darkness, but as the forest grove will weather the storm and provide shelter for others, the third will embrace the darkness as the hawk but not the falcon. They will move through it at once, both a part of the night and a predator to those things that prey upon the innocent.
[00:04:49] Speaker B: The old woman's eyes fluttered and then closed, her body slumping forward. The storm that had developed inside of the tent began to slow as eyes of the storm released Steelwind's hands. The old woman continued in an exhausted.
[00:05:03] Speaker C: Whisper, may the knowledge you received not be more than you can stand.
