[00:01:53] Speaker B: Welcome to the 81st episode of the Cracked Die podcast. Yay. [00:02:00] Speaker C: We've made it this far. Let's see how much further. [00:02:04] Speaker D: Why do you keep saying it backwards? [00:02:06] Speaker E: What do you mean? [00:02:07] Speaker D: It's 18. [00:02:11] Speaker A: Someday, Robert. So before we get, before we get too far in, if I may, as is a first for the Crack Die podcast, we may have given some wrong information about some things. So I just want to go over something that I figured out. I didn't have a ton of time to look over the pterosaur info before I had a pterosaur. So I've done a little looking and a couple things. One, at mature, the pterosaur is not large. They are medium. So they're still person sized, but they're not a large creature yet. Additionally, even if they were large, I could not ride them while they were flying because they do not have the Mount trait. They could pick me up and take me places, though I don't see any reason why they couldn't do that. Like by claw, they just pick me up. But you can ride any animal companion that's bigger than you. So technically, knife sword could currently ride my pterosaur if he wasn't terrified of it. But it can only use its ground speed, its land speed, when carrying a rider, unless it has the mount special ability. [00:03:16] Speaker C: So interesting. [00:03:18] Speaker A: None of that. [00:03:19] Speaker B: And can you train it to be a mount? [00:03:22] Speaker A: No, that's not a thing you can do ever. Which seems weird, I think. I feel like that's the thing. You should be like, well, if I want to spend a feed on that or something. [00:03:31] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:03:32] Speaker A: I don't know. But. Nope, none of that. [00:03:35] Speaker B: Well, the more you know. [00:03:37] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna get it a. I'm gonna get knife sort of handkerchief though. I'm gonna rack him up in like a bindle. And then have the pterosaur fly him around that way. Because he could fly that way. A lot of people can be like goo goo Gaga and then cast tentacles at them or whatever. [00:03:52] Speaker E: I love it. If you could see. [00:03:55] Speaker C: Yeah, it's just that fucking scene from Zootopia. [00:03:59] Speaker A: But anyway, so that's the lowdown. [00:04:02] Speaker B: When we last left our players, they were dealing with some members that they figured out were part of the Scarlet triad. [00:04:11] Speaker C: Right. [00:04:12] Speaker B: They had gone to Vusker's carts and wheels and discussed something with someone you didn't get their name of. Alright, whatever. However, the person they were meeting decided to spring a trap on them and tried to kill them with a mechanized lathe. From there, combat has erupted. The lathe seriously hurt Soraya, Twintalen and Brienne knife sword managed to stay ducked behind a counter, and was also able to disable the trap. The person running the meeting yelled to one of his other members to slit his throat. You're assuming that it is the owner, the Wainwright of the shop. [00:04:57] Speaker A: Which means. Cart maker. [00:05:00] Speaker B: Yes. Twin Talon has stopped bleeding. Saraya is still bleeding. [00:05:06] Speaker C: Yes. [00:05:07] Speaker B: However is Saraya's turn. She had drawn an elixir of life moderate from her pack, and was just about to use the potion when I ended the episode. [00:05:18] Speaker E: So rude. [00:05:19] Speaker B: Because you're jerking so rudely. [00:05:22] Speaker C: Can I use it now? [00:05:23] Speaker B: Yes, Saraya, I guess you can use your potion. [00:05:26] Speaker C: Oh, yay. [00:05:27] Speaker B: Cool. [00:05:27] Speaker C: I heal 31. That's like the myth kind of roll. Cause it's a plus twelve, but whatever. I heal 31 hit points. Did you do that for me already? [00:05:34] Speaker B: I did. [00:05:35] Speaker E: Awesome. [00:05:35] Speaker B: You rolled a four, six, three and three. Three, three. [00:05:38] Speaker A: It is above average. [00:05:40] Speaker C: That's not bad. [00:05:40] Speaker B: No, it's not terrible. Alrighty, so you have one action left. [00:05:45] Speaker C: I'm gonna run. I'm sure he's gonna end up having attack opportunity, but I'm gonna run into the other room. I believe my speed is 35. [00:05:54] Speaker A: It's at least 30. [00:05:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I think I'm a nimble elf. [00:05:57] Speaker B: You are a nimble elf. [00:05:59] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. [00:05:59] Speaker B: And as you turn the corner into that room, you see another one of these. [00:06:06] Speaker C: Yeah, another one of the sisters. And then what? Who is this guy? [00:06:10] Speaker B: You see a knife to the neck of Vasker and it looks like they're about to slice it. I wouldn't do that, Brianna. [00:06:20] Speaker E: Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. What to do, what to do. Feel like I should probably deal with this person in front of me, shouldn't I? But instinct is telling me just to barrel through the door. Yeah. And try and rescue whoever that is. So what do you guys recommend? [00:06:41] Speaker A: I mean, with a 20 foot move, which is what I believe you have. [00:06:44] Speaker E: I do. [00:06:45] Speaker A: You could get next to the guy with no eyeballs. [00:06:49] Speaker D: Yep. [00:06:49] Speaker A: Then you could use a second 20 foot move to get around the corner, I'm assuming. I can't see where he is, but maybe get to whoever it is. [00:06:56] Speaker E: Fuck it. She hears that and she's like, absolutely not. We're not letting that. Um, so I'm gonna leave a threatened square. [00:07:03] Speaker B: Go there. Yep. Okay. [00:07:06] Speaker E: Does anything happen? [00:07:07] Speaker B: It does not. [00:07:08] Speaker E: Beautiful. She's going to do a kiss my ass gesture to this sneak and continue moving. She'll end up there with her first action. By there, I mean next to the original speaker, the OG. Very cool. Saraya, you doing okay in here? [00:07:27] Speaker C: I'm doing all right. Can you see the person in there? [00:07:30] Speaker E: No. I can move up to Surya. [00:07:34] Speaker C: Yeah, you can move another time and still attack. I would probably tell you, like, you know, to get him free. And I'll do what I can about her because you can heal, and I have to waste actions on that. Okay. [00:07:45] Speaker B: You can. You can't really go through the stack of wood there. [00:07:48] Speaker E: Okay. But there's also this person next to me. [00:07:51] Speaker A: What? Who, Saraya? [00:07:53] Speaker E: No, there's another Scarlet Triad person to my left. [00:07:59] Speaker A: Okay. I can't see it. [00:08:00] Speaker E: I know you can't see it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:08:01] Speaker A: I'm just asking questions. [00:08:03] Speaker B: Yeah. So that scarlet Triad member is holding a knife to the throat of Vusker. [00:08:08] Speaker A: Could you, like, push them? I can't see if there's room. But if you could push. If there's, like, a spot that they could go where they're not next to vuskertain, ostensibly push them away. [00:08:16] Speaker E: It's tricky because if she's holding a knife to their throat, if I push them, the likelihood is that. [00:08:22] Speaker A: I don't know, that's. There is no mechanic for what is being done. So that's why I'm. [00:08:27] Speaker C: I mean, you. You could take the shove action. [00:08:29] Speaker A: That's what I mean. [00:08:29] Speaker E: Like, I mean, I was just gonna stab and hope that, like, mechanically, I could. I'm right up in their face. They haven't been able to move yet because I'm quote unquote faster than them. Correct. [00:08:41] Speaker C: I. [00:08:41] Speaker B: Yes. [00:08:42] Speaker E: In this round, I could still attempt to get my scimitar through their ribs. And in my mind, they either have to, like, remove the dagger from the victim to deflect me or be stabbed, is what I'm thinking. [00:08:58] Speaker A: Okay, so if you take the shove action. The thing about shove is if you succeed, you can follow them up to your speed. So since you had one square of movement left, okay, you could push them away and then basically step into where they were in between them and the person that they're the. That you're trying to get them away from. [00:09:13] Speaker E: Okay. Brianna will step up and just shove this bald lady back. [00:09:19] Speaker B: All right, give me an athletics. [00:09:25] Speaker E: How'S. [00:09:25] Speaker B: It 26, 26 versus their reflex. DC is a success. [00:09:32] Speaker E: Brilliant. You may push them 5ft and I cannot attack. Correct? [00:09:37] Speaker B: Correct. [00:09:38] Speaker E: All right. [00:09:38] Speaker A: Correct. But hopefully you can interpose. [00:09:41] Speaker B: Busker falls to the floor with the knife clattering to the ground. Knife, sword. You've been left all alone with this single Scarlet triad member next to you. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Sorry, I'm right here. Hello. [00:09:56] Speaker D: I'm going to look up at her and smile, then I'm going to vomit on her. Now, I got a question. It has vomit swarm as one of my signature spells? [00:10:10] Speaker B: Yes. [00:10:11] Speaker D: How does it change if I cast it at a higher level? It doesn't seem to have any text in there about that. [00:10:15] Speaker A: Then it doesn't. There should be. So at the bottom of a spell, it'll say heightened and then either plus one or like a spell level specifically. If it doesn't have that, then heightening it does nothing. It just allows you to cast it and use a higher level spell slot for it for no effect. [00:10:29] Speaker D: Okay. [00:10:30] Speaker B: What vomit swarm does, say is heightened plus one. [00:10:34] Speaker A: There you go. [00:10:35] Speaker B: So every extra level beyond second level, it adds an additional d eight worth of damage. [00:10:41] Speaker D: Okay. [00:10:42] Speaker B: So at level two it does two, d, eight, three. It does three, d, eight, four. It does four, d, eight and five. It will do five d eight worth of damage, depending on what level you would like to cast the spell, but. [00:10:56] Speaker D: It still only takes two actions, correct? [00:10:58] Speaker B: Correct. [00:10:59] Speaker D: All right, I'm gonna vomit on her at level four. [00:11:02] Speaker B: All right, that's a level four vomit. [00:11:04] Speaker D: And in this. In this case, my vomit has changed from seagulls to pterosaurs and jaspers. [00:11:13] Speaker B: Okay, bird like creatures fly out of your mouth. [00:11:18] Speaker D: They have a save. [00:11:19] Speaker B: They do have a save. [00:11:20] Speaker D: If they fail to save, then they're sickened one. [00:11:23] Speaker B: All right, so I need to make a DC 27 reflex save. That's a 17. That is a critical failure. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Yes. [00:11:34] Speaker B: So draw a crit hit card. [00:11:36] Speaker D: Okay, that's the. Yep. [00:11:39] Speaker B: Okay, and bomb or spell please. [00:11:42] Speaker D: Bomb or spell. Allergic reaction. Target takes one d eight poisonous. [00:11:46] Speaker B: Okay, so they take double damage. So they're gonna take 40 Jasper pterodactyls to the face and they are now poisoned. [00:11:56] Speaker D: You only roll the one and. [00:11:58] Speaker B: Yeah, one d eight poison. [00:12:00] Speaker D: Let me roll that. [00:12:01] Speaker B: They are also sickened. Yes, please, go ahead. All right, so they're going to take six acid on their turn and they are sick. [00:12:09] Speaker D: And then since I have one action. [00:12:11] Speaker A: Left, it's not persistent damage, the poison damage, it's just eight damage or six damage. Right? [00:12:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:12:17] Speaker B: Oh yeah, sorry. Yeah, you're right. Let me take another six damage with your last action. Knife sword. What are you doing? [00:12:25] Speaker D: I'm gonna do magic missile at fifth level. [00:12:27] Speaker C: Oh God. [00:12:28] Speaker B: That's another eleven points of damage. [00:12:31] Speaker E: Good grief. [00:12:33] Speaker B: Okay, we forgot to do your bleed damage, so go ahead and take seven more bleed. [00:12:44] Speaker C: Alrighty, let's see if I can stop bleeding. [00:12:48] Speaker B: It would be a good thing. Just need to roll 15 or higher on a d 20. That's it. [00:12:53] Speaker D: Oh, not 20. [00:12:57] Speaker B: Yes. [00:12:58] Speaker C: No more blood. [00:12:58] Speaker B: No longer bleeding. [00:12:59] Speaker E: Attit girl. [00:13:01] Speaker B: It is now my turn with a guy who's been in jail charge of all of this. Matt. Yeah, Matt. [00:13:11] Speaker A: Yep. [00:13:12] Speaker B: Alright, well, you see him start to cast, okay. And then suddenly tell him to stop it. There are four of him. Oh no. Okay, and with his last action, all four of them stab you at you with a Ikea saying rapier. It is not. It's a mace at you this whole time. [00:13:38] Speaker C: That is a very. [00:13:39] Speaker A: No wonder he's not very good with it. He can't figure out what he's doing with it. [00:13:43] Speaker C: Keeps trying to poke me with this blunt weapon. [00:13:46] Speaker D: I was gonna ask if twin Talon was just drunk because he couldn't recognize the difference between a rapier and a mace. [00:13:51] Speaker B: 34 to hit. [00:13:53] Speaker A: 34 is a normal hit. [00:13:55] Speaker B: Okay, so he's going to do some damage. Hopefully 15 points of damage as all four versions of him. Slam this mace down on your head. [00:14:07] Speaker A: I see little pterodactyls circling around my head. [00:14:09] Speaker B: Absolutely. It's now the sister. She's not a sister. It's now the Scarlet triad member who was holding Vasker hostage. Now confronted with a brienne in his face. In her face. [00:14:23] Speaker E: Mm hmm, mm hmm. [00:14:24] Speaker B: Her dagger dropped to the ground so she draws her rapier okay. And strikes. [00:14:29] Speaker E: All right. What you got? [00:14:30] Speaker B: 32. [00:14:32] Speaker E: I didn't say my shield was up, so sure. [00:14:35] Speaker B: All right, that will hit you for seven points of damage. Owie. And then she'll swing again. [00:14:44] Speaker E: Oh, fuck. [00:14:46] Speaker B: Does a. So I rolled a natural 20. Does a. 32 hit. [00:14:51] Speaker E: It's the same dumb. [00:14:53] Speaker B: It is the same number. That's a crit. Oh, I drew a critical miss. Oops. I'm so used to that. Let me draw a critical hit. [00:14:59] Speaker A: No, I don't like it. [00:15:00] Speaker C: Don't like it. [00:15:01] Speaker B: This is a rapier, for real. [00:15:03] Speaker D: That's not a rapier. This is a rapier. [00:15:08] Speaker B: Piercing pinned arm as the bow. Critical specialization effect. And the target can't use one of its arms until freed. If with a melee weapon, you must drop it to gain as effect, she will. She'll pin your arm into the box behind you and drop her rapier. [00:15:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:15:26] Speaker B: And she'll do 26 points of damage to you. [00:15:31] Speaker E: Ow. [00:15:32] Speaker B: And she'll smile wickedly. Twin talent. [00:15:37] Speaker A: Oh, is it me? [00:15:38] Speaker B: It is you. [00:15:39] Speaker A: Oh, Boyden. So the first thing I'm gonna do is whistle, and my faithful pterodactyl Taysani is going to fly directly into the Scarlet triad member. And as Seisani reaches the end of her flight, she's going to flip around and kick the Scarlet triad member to push her northward. Okay, so should be athletics. And it's versus something. [00:16:14] Speaker B: My reflex DC. [00:16:15] Speaker A: Okay, well, we'll see. I rolled in 18 plus 14, so I'm feeling pretty good. 32. [00:16:22] Speaker B: 32 versus my reflex DC is a regular pass. [00:16:27] Speaker A: Okay. [00:16:28] Speaker B: 32. Ten. Yes, regular pass. [00:16:32] Speaker A: Okay, so this person is going to get pushed 5ft north, and Sean is going to follow. [00:16:37] Speaker B: Okay. [00:16:37] Speaker A: And then Sean is going to land because she has to take an action to hover. There's a lot of rules for flying, but it is pretty fluid. Just if you don't take an action to hover, you fall. But if you're already, like, at ground level, you just land. So. [00:16:51] Speaker B: And is landing. Is landing is free. [00:16:53] Speaker A: Yeah, she falls, but she's 0ft off the ground, so she just lands. And now that she's there, Twintalon's gonna say thanks, and then he's going to try to stab her in the back. [00:17:05] Speaker B: Wow. No honor. Got it. [00:17:08] Speaker A: All right, it's positioning. I'm here. I'm fighting these four guys. [00:17:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that's, um. That's a tough hoarder. Anyway, so. [00:17:16] Speaker A: So I'm much better against someone who has, you know, someone else adjacent to them. So that's what I did. That would be a natural one. So as it is the first roll of this, this new episode, I will be using my hero point as narmal. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Excellent. [00:17:34] Speaker D: Roll. [00:17:35] Speaker A: Something else. A two. [00:17:36] Speaker B: I fucking hate stupid game. [00:17:43] Speaker D: Will be playing car. Cheesy. [00:17:45] Speaker A: Yeah. Throw that board. [00:17:48] Speaker B: So that's a regular fail. [00:17:50] Speaker A: Okay, they're flat footed. I don't think it matters at this level. So Twintunnel uses second action to roll his eyes and then attack again. It's the same fucking roll. Never mind. All right, I'll be here if anybody needs me. [00:18:04] Speaker B: This. This tricer Carlott, triad member, is so confused, feeling the wind whoosh at her back as a pterodactyl kicked her in the stomach. Yeah, it is. Now the scarlet triad members turn, and she looks at you. Twin Talon looks at knife sword, looks at the pterodactyl, doesn't know what to do, so Shawn's gonna roll a d three. [00:18:31] Speaker A: Just as an aside, the guy in front of me who mirrored imaged himself is no longer enfeebled. One. [00:18:36] Speaker B: One will be twin Talon, two will be knife sword. Three will be the pterodactyl. One twin talon rapier. Strike at you. 35. [00:18:49] Speaker A: That's a hit. [00:18:50] Speaker B: Is it a regular hit or a crit hit? [00:18:53] Speaker A: It's a regular hit. My ac is 27. Oh. [00:18:56] Speaker B: I rolled a natural 19, which means I can only crit you on a 20. Boo. [00:19:02] Speaker A: Boo hoo. [00:19:03] Speaker B: All right. For ten points of piercing. [00:19:06] Speaker A: Damn piercing. So eat in second action. [00:19:10] Speaker B: Here we go. This is gonna be fun. Going to try and grapple you. [00:19:15] Speaker A: Let's set a negative five. [00:19:17] Speaker B: Yep. And this is against your fortitude. DC. [00:19:20] Speaker A: Is that what grab is? Yeah. [00:19:22] Speaker B: Grapple athletics versus your fortitude. [00:19:25] Speaker A: Got it. Does a 1515 is, I believe, a critical failure. Let me double check. You're looking for a 27, so 15 is a critical failure. [00:19:34] Speaker B: All right, so you have two options. You can either grab them or force them to fall and land prone. [00:19:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna make them land prone. [00:19:43] Speaker B: All right. And then their last action will be to stand up. Okay, Saraya. Okay, you just suddenly see four of those guys appear behind. Behind you. [00:19:57] Speaker C: I got a plan for that, but first, okay, my first action, I'm gonna throw a blight bomb at these four lovely gentlemen right here. [00:20:10] Speaker B: Okay, I believe you have to still target one, right? [00:20:13] Speaker C: I believe so. But it's still the one in four to hit, right? [00:20:16] Speaker B: Yes. [00:20:17] Speaker C: This is my dad's favorite spell. [00:20:19] Speaker A: Mirror image. [00:20:21] Speaker C: Yeah. So I'm very used to having to have fun with that. So I'm gonna try and hit to begin with. [00:20:29] Speaker B: All right, roll your attack. [00:20:32] Speaker C: It was a natural one. So I'm gonna hero point that. And I should have a plus 13 to any bombs. [00:20:39] Speaker A: I'm surprised it's not more than that. Or I guess the bombs give you bonuses in and of themselves. [00:20:44] Speaker C: Yes. 28. [00:20:47] Speaker A: Nice. [00:20:48] Speaker B: 28 will hit. [00:20:51] Speaker C: Cool. So I'm gonna roll my one d four. But the fun thing is I'm gonna let the splash happen. So they're all gonna take damage, which should get rid of three of them. [00:21:01] Speaker B: Wow. Okay, good stuff. So you're looking for a one. [00:21:07] Speaker E: Which I get. [00:21:08] Speaker B: Which I get. [00:21:09] Speaker C: And the other three still go poof. [00:21:11] Speaker A: That is the best possible way that could have gone down. You hit him and all of his images get blown up anyway. [00:21:19] Speaker C: Yes. He takes all the damage and all the images still go away. Fuck you, dude. [00:21:25] Speaker E: Seriously. [00:21:26] Speaker B: And he takes how much damage? [00:21:28] Speaker C: He is going to take 18 poison damage. Everybody else takes the two splash, so they go poof. And then I believe some of that is persistent. Two d four. Persistent poison. So at the end of every one of his turns. [00:21:41] Speaker B: Okay, so what I want to say is, because this was so well done, I was going to take your hero point. But for doing so well and, like, taking out all of the mirror images at once, I'm gonna give you a hero point as well. [00:21:58] Speaker A: Nice. [00:21:59] Speaker E: Yes. Good job. [00:22:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it was well executed. [00:22:02] Speaker E: Absolutely. [00:22:02] Speaker B: That was that. That was heroic. I tried. That was one action. [00:22:09] Speaker C: I'm too far away from Brianna too. I was gonna try and pull the rapier out for you. So you have all your action, sex turn. [00:22:17] Speaker E: No worries. You heal up or get this guy out of the way, or. I don't know. [00:22:22] Speaker C: I mean, I'm probably gonna chuck another bum at our other lovely friend over here. [00:22:27] Speaker E: Do it. [00:22:28] Speaker C: Yeah, right in front of you. So she's gonna get an alchemist fire because why not? Alrighty, so I'm gonna. I'm gonna see what happens when I do this. Alchemist fire. That one is. [00:22:40] Speaker B: It's a nat 20, then unnatural 2020 versus. That's a miss. [00:22:46] Speaker A: Okay, this will take splash, though, right? [00:22:49] Speaker C: Yeah. So it's two fire, splash, fire, splash. All right, I'm going to have Jasper pull out my healing potion and hand it to me. [00:22:59] Speaker B: Okay. It is Brianna's turn. [00:23:02] Speaker E: Brianna is going to smile back at this creature, and then, without pausing to think, pull her fist back with her gauntleted. Yeah, her gauntleted fist back and swing at her. [00:23:19] Speaker A: Nice. [00:23:19] Speaker E: How's a 34? [00:23:21] Speaker B: Oh, that's a. That's a regular hit. [00:23:25] Speaker E: Okay, take twelve points of damage. [00:23:29] Speaker A: Ow. [00:23:29] Speaker E: For my second action, I will withdraw, or attempt to withdraw the rapier from my arm. [00:23:37] Speaker B: Yep. [00:23:37] Speaker E: What do I need? [00:23:38] Speaker B: You just do. [00:23:39] Speaker E: Okay. And since it's in my hand, I will strike at her with a rapier. [00:23:44] Speaker B: Okay. [00:23:45] Speaker C: If I did have that martial proficiency, that's what I was gonna do, is, like, pull the rapier out and run her through with it. Did not have that despic capability. [00:23:55] Speaker E: I'm not sure how to roll this. I'm guessing I can roll my scimitar and then subtract. [00:23:59] Speaker B: Just. Yeah, we'll subtract some things. [00:24:01] Speaker A: So second attack. [00:24:02] Speaker E: All right. [00:24:04] Speaker A: Fuck. [00:24:06] Speaker E: How's an 18, so minus two? [00:24:10] Speaker B: Because there's no potency rune on it, so that's a 16. That will miss. [00:24:16] Speaker E: Is it bad? I want to use my hero point on this. It feels like a cool moment. [00:24:19] Speaker A: It definitely is cool. Where is your scimitar, by the way? [00:24:23] Speaker E: I probably dropped it. [00:24:24] Speaker A: Okay. [00:24:25] Speaker C: Probably dropped it to pull the rapier out of her arms. [00:24:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:29] Speaker E: I feel like my sword arm was. Was pinned. [00:24:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:34] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:34] Speaker E: Take my hair point. I want to do it right. How's a 33? [00:24:40] Speaker B: Well, it's a 31. And that's still a hit. [00:24:43] Speaker E: Excellent. [00:24:44] Speaker B: It's one d six damage. [00:24:47] Speaker E: Yep. The same as my scimitar. So 14 points of damage. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Because. It's. Because Scimitar is two d six plus six plus one d six. It's just 1d, so it would be. [00:24:59] Speaker B: One d six plus plus six. Here, I can roll it for you. [00:25:04] Speaker E: No. [00:25:05] Speaker B: Okay, you roll it. [00:25:07] Speaker E: Actually, you roll it for me because. [00:25:09] Speaker B: They'Re the exact same nine more points as you. Use this scarlet triad member's own rapier against them. [00:25:24] Speaker E: Yep. [00:25:25] Speaker B: Okay, well, now that mirror image is gone, I'm kind of upset. [00:25:30] Speaker A: I don't do that. [00:25:32] Speaker B: I know, I know. [00:25:34] Speaker C: Look, I just like doing aoe shit. [00:25:38] Speaker E: I mean, it's your bread and butter. Makes sense. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Matt. [00:25:43] Speaker A: Yep. [00:25:44] Speaker B: Does a 26 hit you? [00:25:48] Speaker A: No. [00:25:49] Speaker B: All right, so you see a green ray fly by your head and crash against the lathe behind you. And then you hear cursing from him, and he starts to move. 510 15 2025. That's it. That's all his actions. Knife, sword. [00:26:11] Speaker C: He takes two d, four poison. [00:26:13] Speaker B: Oh, okay, roll it. [00:26:15] Speaker C: Four more poison. Damage. [00:26:17] Speaker B: Takes it. And let's see if he saves. He does not. Still poison. Now, knife, swords, turn. [00:26:26] Speaker D: No problem. I'm good to lean over to this lady in front of me, and I'm going to use suggestion, and I'm going to say, you should really run home. I'm sorry. You should really run home. Okay. [00:26:45] Speaker B: All right. Oh, I make a save. [00:26:47] Speaker A: Will save Will Wheaton. Will save. [00:26:51] Speaker B: Will. Save. How's a 29? [00:26:55] Speaker D: All right, target's unaffected, but thinks you were talking to them normally, not casting a spell. In that case, I don't think I win. Okay, you had your chance. Magic missile. [00:27:10] Speaker B: At what level? [00:27:13] Speaker D: Well, why not? Let's do it at level five. [00:27:17] Speaker B: Oh, jeez. [00:27:19] Speaker D: Woo hoo. [00:27:20] Speaker B: Another nine. [00:27:21] Speaker D: No, wait, that's not right. Yeah, that's right. [00:27:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Three d, four plus three. Okay, it is now the sneak fighting Briena. You see her pull another dagger out from her boot as she stabs at you. 27. [00:27:42] Speaker E: I parry it with her own rapier. [00:27:45] Speaker B: How rude. [00:27:46] Speaker E: You're the one stabbing me. [00:27:48] Speaker B: She tries again. 28 parries. [00:27:51] Speaker E: Again. [00:27:51] Speaker B: Clang, cling. Clang. Twin talon. [00:27:56] Speaker A: Okay, twin Talon will stab at this person in front of him who said that they were not going home. So, I mean, if they're going home, be different, but I changed my mind. [00:28:12] Speaker C: You convinced me. [00:28:13] Speaker A: Too late. Now let's see if I actually managed to do it. Such bullshit. 24 versus flat footed ac. [00:28:23] Speaker B: That is a hit. [00:28:24] Speaker A: Okay, so 13 normal, plus two, d, six sneak. So an additional five, and I'm going to make her enfeebled one. [00:28:36] Speaker E: Nice. [00:28:37] Speaker A: All right, then how do they tell? I'm not gonna take time to make a check, so I'm gonna use my second action to move up. So I'm following the guy who was trying to run away. [00:28:50] Speaker B: Okay. [00:28:51] Speaker A: And I'm going to attack him with my second attack. [00:28:54] Speaker B: All right. [00:28:55] Speaker A: Oh. 19. [00:28:57] Speaker B: That will miss. Bo, is he flat footed? [00:29:01] Speaker A: Yes, he's flat footed. [00:29:02] Speaker B: That will miss. [00:29:03] Speaker A: Thanks for checking. [00:29:05] Speaker B: Well, it made a difference between miss and critical miss, then yes. [00:29:12] Speaker A: Man, I cannot roll for anything today. I don't know what is going on this combat in general, but. Okay, so then my. My pterodactyl is going to attack him too. Because the thing about pterodactyls may not know is that they do. If I don't tell them what to do, they just do it anyway. So attacks with the beak. I roll a 15 for a total of 30. [00:29:37] Speaker B: That's a hit. [00:29:38] Speaker A: All right. And it is ten damage. Ten beak damage. [00:29:45] Speaker B: Because it is a medium sized pterodactyl, the damage doubles from one d six to two d six. [00:29:52] Speaker A: Man, I just. Pterodactyls are just weird. And have a human sized pterodactyl in your face beaking you like. Ugh. [00:30:01] Speaker C: Yeah, that's just. [00:30:02] Speaker A: Yeah, not cool. I can see what you're all about. Seagull teeth. If I was the same size as a bird, I'd be freaked out by them too. [00:30:08] Speaker B: Well, the scarlet triad member behind you is going to attempt to stab twin Talon. [00:30:17] Speaker A: Okay. [00:30:18] Speaker B: With a rapier. [00:30:19] Speaker A: Sunny luck and people will have some effects. [00:30:22] Speaker B: Does in 29 hit. [00:30:24] Speaker A: 29 does hit. Even enfeebled though, it doesn't look like that's actually baked in 28. [00:30:29] Speaker B: Sorry. [00:30:29] Speaker A: 28 still hits. So that's why I say it doesn't really matter. [00:30:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:30:32] Speaker A: And then eight damage. [00:30:34] Speaker B: You take eight damage. [00:30:35] Speaker A: Okay. [00:30:36] Speaker B: Then trying again. [00:30:38] Speaker A: Unless in feeble doesn't mess with attacks. But I thought it did because I remember it taking a good one off of Brianna's attacks. You take a status panel equal to strength base. Oh, are they using their decks for attack? [00:30:48] Speaker B: They are, that's why. Does a 19 hit you? [00:30:52] Speaker A: Uh, no. [00:30:53] Speaker B: All right. And she's going to try one more time. [00:30:58] Speaker A: Valiant effort. Still a mess out of 20 there. [00:31:01] Speaker B: Saraya. [00:31:02] Speaker C: Brianna, are you good here? [00:31:04] Speaker E: Yes, I can handle this. [00:31:06] Speaker C: I'm gonna run back out, okay. Cause, uh, mister mystery man with a ridiculous name that I don't know is not getting away. I'm going to throw in a frost file at him. [00:31:15] Speaker A: Yeah, slow him down. [00:31:17] Speaker C: Exactly. That's the plan. Net 20. [00:31:21] Speaker A: Nice. [00:31:22] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a critical. Actually, this brings up another new rule that we're going to bring into effect. Oh, this stems from Matt rolling really well. Mostly on reflex flex saves. But he's like he said before, like, oh, I wish there was something for like double critting. And I thought, yeah, there should be. So a new rule we're gonna put in there is if you crit, you draw one card. If you then basically double crit. So that's exceeding the crit value by ten. So let's say someone's ac was 25 and you rolled ten above and it was 35 and it was a net 20. And it was a net 20. You get to draw two crit hit cards. [00:32:13] Speaker C: Ooh. [00:32:13] Speaker B: And pick the one you'd like. [00:32:15] Speaker C: Okay, I'll still take that. [00:32:17] Speaker E: That's kind of awesome. [00:32:19] Speaker B: That being said, if you draw one of our Patreon cards, please let me know. And you have to pick it. That's the only caveat. You have to pick the Patreon cardinal. [00:32:29] Speaker C: Okay. 35 and 17. Neither are our patron cards. Well, one is returning spell. If a spell attack spell or spell slot is not expended. So no, because that doesn't do anything for me. The other, the target is blinded until the end of its next turn. It's called eye burn. So I just frost bit his eyes. Ouch. [00:32:51] Speaker A: That's why his eyes look like that. Okay, now it's all. [00:32:54] Speaker D: There we go. [00:32:55] Speaker C: Now it makes sense. Sense. [00:32:57] Speaker B: And double damage. [00:32:59] Speaker C: And he takes a minus ten foot speed penalty. So he takes eight. Frost damage. Did I really roll that pulley? [00:33:09] Speaker A: Oh, so six. So six. Oh, no, it is eight. Even double. That's eight. Oh, jeez. [00:33:14] Speaker C: Can I hero point my damage? [00:33:16] Speaker B: No, only d 20 rolls. [00:33:18] Speaker A: Damn it. [00:33:19] Speaker C: All right, well, he still takes the cold splash, which is more damage. He still has his persistent poison on him. And he is blind and slowed. 10ft. [00:33:28] Speaker B: Okay, slowed ten. And he's blind. [00:33:32] Speaker C: And that was only two actions. I do have my healing potion in my hand. And I am going to drink my moderate healing potion. [00:33:38] Speaker B: That's fine. [00:33:40] Speaker A: Oh, we get to even find out how much you heal in the same episode that you drink it. [00:33:44] Speaker C: I know, right? [00:33:45] Speaker B: Next. No, I'm kidding. [00:33:46] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:33:47] Speaker C: I might hurt you. And I will heal for 28. Okay. [00:33:53] Speaker B: All right. Brienne. Huh? [00:33:56] Speaker E: Well, I should probably finish this person off, shouldn't I? [00:34:00] Speaker B: I know Busker's on the ground. You can just coot a grom. [00:34:04] Speaker E: Well, that's true. I'll do that. [00:34:06] Speaker A: Just like a champion. [00:34:07] Speaker C: No, just like a champion should. [00:34:10] Speaker E: You know, I'm gonna keep attacking with this thing because. Why I. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Why not with this pointy stick I found? [00:34:16] Speaker C: You have to add insult to injury sometimes. [00:34:19] Speaker E: 24, I guess. 22. [00:34:22] Speaker B: Oh, 22 will miss. You can take an action to pick up your scimitar again. [00:34:26] Speaker E: Yeah, I'll do that. [00:34:27] Speaker A: Just, like, throw it into the ground. [00:34:30] Speaker E: Can I throw it at her? No, I'll just throw it off to the side and pick up my scimitar and attack again. Fuck. [00:34:41] Speaker B: 23 will miss. [00:34:43] Speaker A: Well, we know what our ac is. Not 23, but it's 24. [00:34:50] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:34:50] Speaker B: Knife. Sword. [00:34:52] Speaker D: No, really. You want to go home? I don't need you to take a will save there. Shun. [00:34:59] Speaker B: All right, 16. [00:35:02] Speaker D: Oh, it's a 27. I'm sorry. That's a critical fail, isn't it? [00:35:05] Speaker B: Uh, yes. Yes. [00:35:07] Speaker D: Thanks for playing as failure, but the base duration is an hour. [00:35:12] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:35:13] Speaker D: Target immediately follows your suggestion. Target is compelled to finance session. The suggestion becomes unless the session is self destructive. So. Yep. [00:35:21] Speaker B: All right. [00:35:21] Speaker D: She's going home. For the next hour, they want to go home. [00:35:24] Speaker B: You have one more action. [00:35:26] Speaker D: Uh, yeah. So she's going home. Then I'm gonna magic missile. Uh, huberk. We'll do this at a level. Gotta mitigate how many spells I'm using. Let's do level two. Okay, five. [00:35:39] Speaker B: All right, five points of damage to him. It is now his turn. His defenses are lowered. Can't focus while exploring, and he can't see. So his first action. I think I can still do this. Does vision affect space spell casting? [00:35:57] Speaker C: Yes, but you need line of sight or. [00:36:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:36:01] Speaker B: What if it's a self casting spell? [00:36:04] Speaker C: Isn't it still at least a flat five? Yeah, anything but it interacts. [00:36:07] Speaker A: Yeah, you're concealed to yourself. [00:36:09] Speaker B: Okay. All right, so he tries to cast a spell. Let's see if I roll five or higher. [00:36:16] Speaker C: Oh, it was so close to a one. I was so excited. [00:36:20] Speaker B: 13. And he disappears. And then. All right, that's his turn. Next is the sneak by Briena. [00:36:31] Speaker C: Well, before. Before that, he takes his persistent damage. [00:36:35] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. Go ahead and roll that six. [00:36:38] Speaker C: Poison. [00:36:39] Speaker B: Okay. And let's see if he flat checks out of it. No. By one point, he rolled a 14. Well, this triad member with the dagger tries to stab Brianna. [00:36:55] Speaker A: Sounds like a poor idea. [00:36:57] Speaker B: 26 tries again. Oh, that's not good. Oh, no. 27 also miss, then tries to stab Busker, who is prone. [00:37:09] Speaker E: They're not leaving a threatened square. [00:37:10] Speaker B: Nope. [00:37:11] Speaker E: I'll liberate. [00:37:12] Speaker B: Ooh, fuck me. All right, so natural 20. Yep. That's a critical hit. So it's only a dagger, which is good. These are unnamed for max damage. 16 points of damage. You're liberating. [00:37:32] Speaker E: Yes. Which is minus ten. Now I believe. [00:37:36] Speaker A: I believe it is. Eleven. At your level, plus two. [00:37:38] Speaker B: Yes. [00:37:39] Speaker E: Then they only take. [00:37:41] Speaker B: They take five. So you see this triad member lash down at busker and cuts him. But you get in front of him enough that it's only a glancing blow. It doesn't seem to have hit anything particular. But he is bleeding. [00:37:59] Speaker A: He's lucky you're the one that went back there for him. [00:38:01] Speaker B: Not mechanically bleeding, but like, blood is gushing. Fourth right. Twin Talon. [00:38:08] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm trying to think how far a slow blind person got after casting invisibility. Which is what? Two actions. [00:38:18] Speaker C: I don't know. Top of my head. [00:38:20] Speaker A: Generally, spells are two actions. I'm gonna have to assume it's two actions. I'm not looking it up. That's what I assume. So, twin Talon, who's right next to one two. He is. He's going to start moving toward the southern door just when it's one square at a time. Thank you for keeping me honest. There. Then there. Which is one step closer. And there I'm like, right next to the door. Have I run into anybody? [00:38:43] Speaker B: You bump into someone in the square. [00:38:46] Speaker A: I'm in. Okay, then twin Talon is going to. He's going to whistle. And the. The pterosaur is gonna take off and fly south, basically out of the room, landing behind where this person, this invisible person is. And then it's gonna make an attack on it. [00:39:09] Speaker B: All right, so you have to make a DC eleven flap check. Cause it is technically hidden from you still. [00:39:15] Speaker A: Okay, so creature is hidden. You want to space it some that can't tell where. [00:39:20] Speaker B: Okay, so, yes, DC eleven flat check. [00:39:23] Speaker A: Rolled a nine, which is not a six, but it's also not an eleven. So some beeking happens, doesn't hit anything. And then twin Talon is going to attack at this person again. [00:39:40] Speaker B: Make your flat check. Fuck. [00:39:43] Speaker A: I think it's time for me to retire. Eight. [00:39:46] Speaker B: Eight. That will miss. [00:39:48] Speaker E: All right, man. [00:39:50] Speaker B: You don't know it, but he's crawling on the ground. [00:39:53] Speaker A: Oh, well, then he's not there. Okay. The thing was, I was trying to actually get to the door and close them, but him actually running into him, what? Didn't allow me to get to the door, which is so fucking annoying. [00:40:05] Speaker B: All right, so this Scarlet triad member walks around, knife sword, opens the door for a second action and walks away. Saraya. [00:40:16] Speaker C: So yes, she is gonna move right next to twin challenge to his right. I am technically targeting the floor with this because of what I intend to do with it. [00:40:27] Speaker B: Okay. [00:40:28] Speaker C: I'm going to make and drop my new thing, my crystal vial. And what that does. The crystal shards, when they land, they spread out, basically forming caltrops. [00:40:43] Speaker B: Oh, that's cool. [00:40:46] Speaker C: I don't want to catch Tasani in it. And I can splash in a 15 foot cone because I have directional splash, so we should be able to track his footsteps. And he'll be stepping on caltrops. [00:40:59] Speaker A: Ouch. [00:41:02] Speaker E: Damn. [00:41:02] Speaker C: So that's one, two, three. [00:41:06] Speaker B: Brianna. [00:41:07] Speaker E: Ah, boy, oh boy, oh boy. I'm a. I'm gonna keep trying with this person in front of me. I guess so, since I've picked up my scimitar. Let's hope it. It does what it's supposed to do. How's a 36? [00:41:21] Speaker B: How's a critical. [00:41:24] Speaker E: Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. [00:41:26] Speaker B: I love this fight because it. You guys are either missing a. Or critting. [00:41:31] Speaker C: Yeah, there's really no middle ground happening a lot of the time. [00:41:37] Speaker E: This thing's called hamstring. Normal damage. The crit effect is the target is knocked prone. The target is also clumsy too, until healed. [00:41:46] Speaker A: That's pretty wicked if they survive. [00:41:49] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. Takes 17 points of damage. [00:41:53] Speaker B: Okay, take it. [00:41:56] Speaker E: Cool. I'm gonna attack again. And hopefully now it'll be better since they're proned. [00:42:02] Speaker A: Well, not only that. [00:42:03] Speaker B: Oh. [00:42:03] Speaker A: But. Well, they're clumsy, too, which makes their ac decrease by two. And they're prone, which makes their ac decrease by two. So they have a negative four ac. [00:42:12] Speaker E: Well, I feel like I bumbled that since I rolled 17. [00:42:16] Speaker B: So they also take minus two to their dexterity base rolls. And as we learned, they use their decks for damage and whatnot. But a 17 will indeed miss. Oh, wait, hang on, hang on. Sorry, sorry. [00:42:31] Speaker E: Was it a critmus? [00:42:32] Speaker A: No, it's. It's. I think it's very close, actually. [00:42:35] Speaker B: That is barely a miss, but. A miss. [00:42:38] Speaker E: All right, final action. I'll raise my shield. [00:42:40] Speaker B: Okay. Knife. Sword. [00:42:43] Speaker D: I'm gonna see what's in this bag. Room. [00:42:45] Speaker A: Life sword has lost interest in what is happening, apparently. [00:42:49] Speaker B: Oh, this back room, the one. [00:42:50] Speaker D: Where'd you think I was going? [00:42:54] Speaker B: The other room. The. The bedroom. The brothel room, as you called it. [00:42:59] Speaker D: Oh, well, I didn't see Brianna run by me. But then you're like, oh, he's less interested. Everything going on. I'm like, what? Did I miss something? [00:43:10] Speaker A: I think we all thought you were going to the bedroom, just, like, away from everybody else. Just like, what's on this door. [00:43:17] Speaker E: I need a nap. [00:43:22] Speaker D: Do you all think so bad about me? [00:43:26] Speaker B: Nice sword. You walk into this back room and you see Brianna standing over a knocked down scarlet triad member. [00:43:35] Speaker A: And you see another guy, right? Or no? [00:43:37] Speaker B: And you see another guy bleeding? Yes. [00:43:39] Speaker D: Oh, well, I will cast stabilize on the bleeding guy. [00:43:41] Speaker B: All right, he is stabilized. [00:43:43] Speaker D: And that's my three turns. [00:43:45] Speaker A: Wait, he gets three turns? I want three turns. [00:43:48] Speaker D: Three actions. Sorry. [00:43:49] Speaker A: No, I'm fine. I'm fine with you taking three turns. That's fine. He's our 19. That's fine. [00:43:53] Speaker B: How long am I blind? [00:43:55] Speaker A: You're just blind. [00:43:56] Speaker B: I'm just blind. My eyes are frozen shut, apparently. All right, so maybe it's just a turn. [00:44:04] Speaker A: Hold on. Let's go back and look at the cards. Target is blind until the end of its next turn. [00:44:08] Speaker B: Okay, so the ice melts. [00:44:11] Speaker C: Starts to melt. End of its next turn. [00:44:13] Speaker B: Oh, okay, so what I'm going to do, because he is blind, and I don't think he would know where to go at this point. I'm just going to roll a d ten and figure out which way to go. [00:44:26] Speaker A: I mean, there are eight directions he could go. [00:44:28] Speaker C: Do you mean a d eight? Yeah, I was going to say d eight. [00:44:31] Speaker B: That's. That's what I. [00:44:32] Speaker A: Unless down and up or two directions. In which case, sure, he tries to. [00:44:37] Speaker B: Walk into the pterodactyl. So he bumps into the pterodactyl. [00:44:42] Speaker A: Shrieks in his face. Cause I feel like the pterodactyl is technically as tall as a person, but it doesn't walk like that. So it's mostly hunched over with its wings and stuff. [00:44:50] Speaker B: Yes. You then hear a thunk on the wall to the east. Then someone tries to bump into you. [00:44:57] Speaker C: Saraya, can I. I don't really have a reaction to. Grab him. [00:45:01] Speaker B: No. The scarlet Triad member. Over. Hang on, you, Brianna, hang on. Oh. Take the bleed poison. Poison, not bleed poison. [00:45:12] Speaker C: You keep wanting to skip my cool shit. So he takes four more poison damage. [00:45:17] Speaker B: Now the Scarlet Triad member puts their hands up. A sign of surrender. [00:45:23] Speaker A: Do they croak the word surrender? [00:45:25] Speaker B: Yes. Okay, well, no, they don't croak. They say, I surrender. [00:45:30] Speaker E: Surrender spares you this day as she is the goddess of redemption. [00:45:35] Speaker B: All right, Fin, Tallon, it is your turn. [00:45:38] Speaker A: Okay. Big bucket of paint. But I don't. So I'm just going to attack him or attack his spot, I should say miss. Try it again. Eleven. There we go. Okay, so now I can actually roll to attack. [00:45:53] Speaker B: Yes, but it counts as your second attack, I believe. [00:45:56] Speaker A: That is correct. 18. [00:46:00] Speaker B: That will miss. [00:46:01] Speaker A: And then twin Talon wishes that his pterodactyl could vomit knife swords at this guy. But it will just tell the pterodactyl to the pterodactyl. Close the doors. [00:46:15] Speaker B: So for using Jurassic park rules. Yes. [00:46:20] Speaker A: There's no knobs involved. It's just like a swinging door, right? They're already open. The pterodactyl says, like, grab one and then grab the other. So if you say that the pterodactyl can close the doors and that's what he's gonna do, he's gonna close both, or she's gonna close both doors. If she can't, that's fine. [00:46:32] Speaker B: No, that's fine. She closes both doors for her two actions. [00:46:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So twin Talon will make a motion as he moves it, holds his arms wide and then like, flicks his fingers inward, kind of like a close the doors action. And then the pterodactyl squawks and mimics him and closes the doors and looks very proud of itself on the other side of the doors. [00:46:52] Speaker C: Aw. [00:46:52] Speaker E: No. [00:46:54] Speaker B: Saraya, it is your turn. [00:46:56] Speaker C: Jasper flaps in pride as well. Very proud of tissue. [00:47:02] Speaker A: Tasani. [00:47:03] Speaker C: Tasani. [00:47:04] Speaker E: Okay, perfect. [00:47:05] Speaker C: I have chalk in my backpack. Can I, can I basically just throw a bunch of choc, like. Yeah, basically, like, throw, like, a bag of, like, chalk dust, like a rock climber would have because she's a climber now. Just, like, poof. And hope it, like, reveals his invisibility. [00:47:27] Speaker B: That's a really, that's a good idea. I like that. You know what? Give me a week to think about it. I'll let you know. [00:47:38] Speaker E: Why are you like this?
