[00:00:41] Speaker A: The 29th episode of the Cracked Die podcast. I'm your host and GM, Sean, and look at this. We're getting up there in numbers. That's amazing. We have brought you roughly 29 weeks of uninterrupted adventure, and we're really proud of that and excited. Let's talk about a tool that we use on the show to make figuring out numbers and math a little bit easier on us. And that wonderful program is called Hero Lab. Hero Lab is an online tool that you can use to help build your character. It does all the math for you. It's a bunch of drop down menus that lets you build a character quite simply, quite easily. And the best part for me is, if there's an error when you're making the character, it highlights what that error is, and that's great. It makes building characters a lot easier and a lot quicker, which is always good. The other cool thing that I think is if there's a skill or feat that you want to take but you don't qualify for it, it lets you know that you don't qualify for it, and it can show you how you can get that skill or feat. All right, I've talked enough about Hero Lab online. So two more things real fast. One, we are still running our giveaway for the Pathfinder core rulebook. We're just waiting on a couple more reviews on Apple podcasts, and once we get them, we'll do a drawing. Simple as that. Secondly, we have a patreon. So head over to patreon.com slash Crackeddiepodcast and take a look at our tiers and see if anything interests you. All right. Like normal, I have rambled on way too long, so let's head to the table. Welcome to the 29th episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:40] Speaker B: Finally. [00:02:41] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:02:42] Speaker D: This is the number. I've been waiting for. [00:02:43] Speaker E: This one specifically. [00:02:45] Speaker A: Yes. [00:02:45] Speaker F: Okay. [00:02:46] Speaker C: Because 29 is prime. [00:02:47] Speaker B: Optimus prime. [00:02:49] Speaker D: Yes. No, I've been waiting for it because I'm really excited to play. I'm having a lot of fun. [00:02:53] Speaker E: Good. [00:02:54] Speaker A: That's very sweet. [00:02:55] Speaker F: And he's not quitting the podcast yet. [00:02:58] Speaker D: Wait till the end of the episode. [00:03:00] Speaker A: That's 29. [00:03:01] Speaker F: Capping it off. [00:03:02] Speaker B: Do we have to wait till the whole end of the episode? You're not going to quit mid episode. [00:03:06] Speaker A: That's what I thought. All right. I had to come back. All right, you guys wake up the next morning, get a night's rest. You heal whatever you heal. If you took damage, I don't think anyone really did. [00:03:17] Speaker G: I'm still not back to full. [00:03:18] Speaker B: I was knocked unconscious. [00:03:19] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's right. [00:03:20] Speaker B: I feel like because Temid can do his healing every ten minutes, it's faster than that now, isn't it? [00:03:26] Speaker D: No, it used to be every hour. [00:03:27] Speaker A: Okay. [00:03:28] Speaker D: And the healing time was actually included in that hour, so that instead of it being 70 minutes, it was 60 minutes. But now I can do it every ten minutes and I can do two people at once. So, in fact, continuously, it's called continuous healing is the name of the feat. And I can just continuously just heal people. [00:03:44] Speaker G: I feel you probably healed. [00:03:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:46] Speaker F: Drinking and you're like, yeah, this is exactly what my religion is. [00:03:49] Speaker D: Let me heal you while I'm drinking. [00:03:51] Speaker F: Exactly. [00:03:52] Speaker D: And I'm doing a good job at it, too. [00:03:53] Speaker B: So I'm just going to go ahead. [00:03:54] Speaker G: And add ten hit points to myself. [00:03:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:56] Speaker B: Between tempt and brianna, I think, yeah. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Everyone should be full on hit points. Everyone has all of their spells. [00:04:02] Speaker G: I'm back up to 350 hit points. [00:04:04] Speaker A: Cool. I think that's a lie, but I'll let it go. [00:04:06] Speaker G: On a level 20 barbarian, we had. [00:04:08] Speaker D: A full night's rest. [00:04:09] Speaker A: Yes. [00:04:09] Speaker D: Okay. [00:04:10] Speaker H: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast. All heroes finally finished dealing with the swarms and Tixatog. After restraining vase, all heroes brought her back to interrogate her. All heroes learn that the mysterious Scarlet triad was funding vase. Silver and temid wandered down a long hallway, but then got scared and returned to the group. Our heroes also learned about a mysterious spider lady. They returned to breechill to turn in all of the captured villains that they have gathered so far. They spent the evening drinking and relaxing, a much deserved rest. They also leveled to level four. Now that they're stronger and more powerful and have learned about more nefarious plots, what will our heroes do next? Find out the answers to this question and more on this episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:05:01] Speaker E: During the night, she slipped away to have her own moment with Serenre to ask know forgiveness and penance and guidance. And the during you know, the evening drug and rivalry should say Tem had stepped out. [00:05:18] Speaker D: He went to fill up a pitcher, and maybe you caught him as he did. [00:05:23] Speaker E: So, Brianna will approach temed and say, I don't know if this is the right time or if it'll ever be the right time. I just wanted to touch base with you and make sure you're okay. Since when we woke you in the citadel, you seemed a bit concerned. I will say that to this day, I still sleep with a dagger under my pillow. And not too long ago, I used to sleep with my boots on. So I know that look in your eyes. I know what it is. I'm sorry you had to go for it. [00:05:55] Speaker D: Or through it, rather, at hearing this. That veneer kind of disappeared. That constant smile. The arrogance, the forced arrogance that he has kind of disappears. And he does this thing where he shakes his head and he kind of gets back into character. But it's not happening. Somehow you're breaking down his ability to do that. Because you've always kind of been like, Brienna has always been there as a caring figure. And he's not used to that for sure. So he tries very hard. And he's like, well, that deeper voice kind of disappears. And he just says, it's not something I talk about very often. It was really difficult for me to deal with and to think about. Sometimes it comes back to me in my dreams. But I find sometimes the best way. And then he's kind of working back into character again as he speaks. Sometimes the best way is to have a picture and just kind of forget. And make sure you're helping other people to push the feelings down. But it's my job now to make sure that no one else goes through what I went. [00:06:59] Speaker E: Brianna will gently take his hand in hers and say, I understand the need to defend yourself. And in doing so, defend others. It is also a reason why I found Sarandre and wanted to show others her light. And in doing so, be able to have them redeem themselves. But I hope you know that you don't have to share your burden alone. I'm here and I'm your friend. And if this is not in any way me crying. You don't have to tell your story now or ever. Just know I'm here. [00:07:34] Speaker D: I'm not quite ready to tell much more than I have. But of course, I certainly appreciate your friendship and your caring. And know that I'm here for you as well. And I understand that there might be some difficulty for you. I know that you've been working through some of dealing with your tenants. And the adventuring days have kind of made it more difficult for you to stick to them. And I understand that sometimes it's easier to stick to my tenants. Because all I really have to do is have a drink and have fun and defend people. And that's easy. That's in my nature. But sometimes, if you ever want to talk about sticking to your tenants, I do have some insight. And it's always something that I'm here for you. [00:08:11] Speaker F: Thank you. [00:08:12] Speaker E: Likewise, of course. And she'll hug. [00:08:14] Speaker D: They'll hug, and he'll make sure the pitcher doesn't spill. [00:08:17] Speaker F: I was going to say. [00:08:17] Speaker E: Is that just aired down my. [00:08:19] Speaker D: Anyway, no, I cannot spill a drop. [00:08:23] Speaker E: It must be the condensation. [00:08:28] Speaker D: And then. So then he fills up another pitcher, and then he starts drinking from the first one, and he brings the second one back to everyone else. [00:08:34] Speaker A: Yay. [00:08:34] Speaker G: Hero points are being distributed. [00:08:36] Speaker A: Hero points for black. [00:08:37] Speaker D: I've got three now. [00:08:38] Speaker A: You guys wake up in the town. [00:08:39] Speaker E: In the middle of town square. [00:08:40] Speaker A: Yep. [00:08:41] Speaker E: I love it. [00:08:41] Speaker G: Wear my pants. [00:08:42] Speaker F: That was a hell of a bender. [00:08:44] Speaker G: Not again. [00:08:47] Speaker D: Around where I'm from, we call that a timid. [00:08:50] Speaker A: So, interestingly enough, Greta gardenia comes around to find all of you, and she looks at you guys and says, we were able to contact the hell knights, and they have sent a carriage to take Alex's body back. It should be here in the next day or so. And then we are going to set funeral arrangements with the hell knights to send his body back. I just wanted to let you know. [00:09:13] Speaker F: And we have the heirlooms, too. [00:09:14] Speaker E: Yes, I believe so. [00:09:16] Speaker F: We thought the ring of sword. A painting. [00:09:17] Speaker E: I'm not sure about the ring. Out of character, I don't think. [00:09:21] Speaker G: We don't know. [00:09:23] Speaker D: But Temid gave it to Ponwatcher. [00:09:24] Speaker E: Ponwatcher. [00:09:25] Speaker A: Right. [00:09:25] Speaker E: I just don't know how much of that story the rest of us got. [00:09:30] Speaker A: I just know he was looking for. [00:09:32] Speaker D: Yeah, it was when you. Watcher also doesn't remember hitting on me. [00:09:36] Speaker E: Well, he was very drunk. [00:09:38] Speaker D: Did we find a journal when rich was very drunk? [00:09:40] Speaker G: Probably. [00:09:40] Speaker E: We found a journal. But that was in. [00:09:42] Speaker A: That was Vase's journal. Right? Okay. [00:09:44] Speaker F: I don't know why I thought we found, like, a stegrom journal. [00:09:47] Speaker B: We found a book. [00:09:47] Speaker E: We did. [00:09:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:48] Speaker B: It was a book from one of them. It might have been a journal, but it was like, of the. [00:09:51] Speaker F: It was like a hell night history. Correct. [00:09:53] Speaker A: It was a history of the. [00:09:57] Speaker F: Ring way back. [00:09:59] Speaker D: And a painting. If Pond Watcher wants to. From the tiny dragon, or if Pond Watcher wants. He can give the ring or not. It doesn't matter. But Tammid's all for, given the painting that everyone knows about. [00:10:10] Speaker G: Hey, look at this ring. He just, like, throws it to Greta. [00:10:13] Speaker A: Not on the ground. Okay. [00:10:15] Speaker G: Hey, heads up my face and just. [00:10:17] Speaker F: Beans her with it. [00:10:18] Speaker A: Greta grabs the. [00:10:19] Speaker D: This is the ring that we. [00:10:20] Speaker G: I tossed it softly to miss Sareia. Not a savage, just a barbarian. [00:10:27] Speaker A: So she thanks you and collects all of the family heirlooms that were Alex and they start to prepare. You see the clerics from the great dream house of Desna and the clerics of Kate and Caitlin start preparing to load him, essentially, into a blackhurst. [00:10:43] Speaker B: Is the carriage already? [00:10:43] Speaker A: No, no. When it gets here, they're just preparing, trying to make it look gentle repose. Yeah, he's in gentle repose, but they're, like, cleaning up the know. Wiping away any bubbly things that were on his mouth from whatever caused his passing. [00:10:57] Speaker B: It's a mystery. [00:10:58] Speaker A: Cleaning him up as best they can. [00:11:00] Speaker G: Do you think I should give this sword back to him? [00:11:02] Speaker B: I think he'd want you to have it. [00:11:03] Speaker G: It's silver. [00:11:04] Speaker C: You should definitely keep that. [00:11:05] Speaker G: Yeah, I agree. Thanks, Alec. [00:11:07] Speaker D: So Temit actually know. He knows some of the clerics, right? Of Kaden Killian? So he walks up to one of them and he a. So we did have a hard time kind of figuring out exactly what it was, right. Like, we all failed our checks, so we weren't really sure of what killed him. [00:11:22] Speaker A: No one knows. [00:11:22] Speaker D: So, tempids. We had a hard time figuring out what exactly hurt him or what exactly took his life. Do you guys have any idea? [00:11:30] Speaker A: There was nothing found in his body. Any wounds? It looks like he just passed, probably from. We're not sure. [00:11:37] Speaker B: These guys are clearly blind. Wrecked by that warg. [00:11:41] Speaker D: Yeah, he did get wrecked by the. By the warg, but he's like, heal. [00:11:45] Speaker B: His wounds and he did not, because he was like, I can use some healing. I was like, oh, I have a potion. [00:11:50] Speaker F: Right. [00:11:51] Speaker A: No one healed him. I'm sorry, I forgot that. Yeah, it is a giant mistake, so let's roll that. [00:11:56] Speaker E: Sorry, don't do it as well. [00:11:57] Speaker A: Too rich. [00:11:58] Speaker G: He was bit by a big dog or something. [00:12:00] Speaker D: It looks like he was attacked by. [00:12:02] Speaker A: A warg and that looked like it was fatal. Maybe there was some sort of disease in the bite or claw. [00:12:09] Speaker D: That's interesting, because some other of my companions were bitten by the warg and none of us had any type of reaction like that. [00:12:18] Speaker A: Maybe he was just weakened from exploring for so long. [00:12:21] Speaker D: Is it possible, with their assistance, that temit could do another medicine jet? [00:12:25] Speaker A: Sure. [00:12:26] Speaker D: What kind of assistance do they get? Or is it just their assistance allows me to roll again? [00:12:31] Speaker A: Their assistance lets you roll again and you get a plus two. Plus two, yes, but the DC is much higher than what it used to be. [00:12:38] Speaker D: All right, so it's a plus 13 to my role. [00:12:40] Speaker B: Yeah, he's into king man. [00:12:41] Speaker D: If I didn't only have one hero. [00:12:42] Speaker A: Point, I would definitely throw it in here. [00:12:44] Speaker D: So it's a 23. [00:12:47] Speaker A: With a 23. That is a success, but not a critical. [00:12:53] Speaker D: Okay, so what do I find out? [00:12:56] Speaker A: You find with looking at him and the help of the other clerics that there was some sort of poison that coursed through him. But you're not sure what type, where it came from, anything like that. [00:13:07] Speaker D: Poison. And does he feel that that kind of poison, is it like he doesn't know if wargs have poison or whatever? [00:13:14] Speaker A: You don't. [00:13:14] Speaker D: Okay, but he's going to store that information in his head. He's just going to, under his breath, say poison. He doesn't suspect anything of anyone yet, but this is odd. [00:13:22] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, sure, you've dealt with a bunch of poisons so far in the hell night Citadel. [00:13:28] Speaker B: Yeah, and he did fight other, so. [00:13:32] Speaker F: Could just be really bad at poisoning his own weapon. Like, that's actually a mechanic, or he. [00:13:37] Speaker A: Just failed a fort. Save a lot. What are y'all doing? [00:13:40] Speaker F: I actually kind of do want to give Anwar a point for following through on checking up on Alex. [00:13:45] Speaker A: I'll take it. [00:13:45] Speaker F: Or Alex. [00:13:47] Speaker A: All right, you gotta hear a point. [00:13:49] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:13:49] Speaker G: Hey, Tim, is it possible to get one of those Claire's to come with. [00:13:52] Speaker C: Us instead of Pond Watcher? [00:13:55] Speaker E: I'm sorry, pond watcher, literally, when was it? Last night. You were hitting on him, and now you're being mean to him. You better. [00:14:02] Speaker F: No, because it's called. [00:14:03] Speaker E: What is this? [00:14:05] Speaker F: This is rude. [00:14:06] Speaker D: It's what it is. [00:14:07] Speaker E: Dorm up in a house. [00:14:08] Speaker D: Tevid, he had a smile on his face while he was just, like, talking to somebody, and then you say that, and then you could see him kind of shrink. [00:14:16] Speaker G: I'm just joking, man. Come on. [00:14:18] Speaker F: He tries to give you a hug with his little leathery wings. [00:14:21] Speaker G: You need to learn how to take a joke better. You're a great cleric. [00:14:26] Speaker D: Oh, thank you. I mean, I did heal all of your wounds every single time you fall unconscious because of your poor decision. [00:14:33] Speaker G: That's very true. I'm going to need you to keep doing that. [00:14:37] Speaker D: I will. [00:14:37] Speaker E: You better be nice to the cleric. [00:14:39] Speaker A: No. [00:14:39] Speaker D: Whether or not he's nice to me, I'll heal. He's a good chap. [00:14:43] Speaker E: You're a good chap. [00:14:44] Speaker G: You're a good chap. [00:14:45] Speaker D: We're all good chaps. [00:14:46] Speaker C: And so they good chaps their way. [00:14:50] Speaker G: That is the name of our little. [00:14:52] Speaker B: Group, the good chaps. [00:14:54] Speaker D: I'm actually very much in favor of that. I want to name our group so. [00:14:57] Speaker C: Much good chaps sounds a little bit too. [00:15:02] Speaker F: Sounds like a little bit like gay cowboy club. Yeah. Right. [00:15:06] Speaker A: I was thinking clockwork orange, too, actually. [00:15:12] Speaker G: We'll workshop it. [00:15:14] Speaker A: Does anyone else have anything that they want to do in the town where you all headed off to? What you doing next? [00:15:20] Speaker B: But I would say that the next day, whenever it's time to go, we should head back to Guardian's way to look for a settler's ring, which we only got so far into the caves. [00:15:29] Speaker D: Right. [00:15:31] Speaker A: So you guys travel the 2 hours back to Guardian's way. [00:15:36] Speaker D: So along the way, Temad's like, all right, so I've got ideas for the names of our group. For the name of our group. What about the good chaps? [00:15:43] Speaker A: The good chaps? [00:15:43] Speaker D: The good chaps. Everybody. Or. No. [00:15:46] Speaker E: Well, neither am I. [00:15:47] Speaker D: You're a chap in spirit. The good dudes. [00:15:51] Speaker C: Timid. Where I come from, chaps are something you wear on your ass. [00:15:56] Speaker D: The good asses. And then he tries to look at himself in the mirror and he's turning. [00:16:00] Speaker F: Around circles trying to check out his own butt. [00:16:03] Speaker C: Yeah, a rush of air just goes. [00:16:07] Speaker F: Like a dog chasing his tail. [00:16:11] Speaker D: So we'll keep workshopping this, guys, but I think we are close. [00:16:15] Speaker C: Well, also, in my experience, when groups starting to get named, it's prime when people start to die or I was trapped in one group one time, turns out. [00:16:30] Speaker A: So you make it back to the guardian's way, you make it through the cave that you see. And then the only exit that you haven't explored is that long tunnel that temid and Silver started to go down. [00:16:42] Speaker D: So Temid puts his hand on silver's shoulder and says, now's the right time for us to go check out that tunnel. How about you lead? [00:16:47] Speaker C: The are the. You are the one who is so prudent and has had us to wait. The best thing is to have people with heavily armored weaponry to go first. [00:16:59] Speaker D: I like that idea. And maybe we should continue with that thought process going forward. [00:17:03] Speaker F: Jasper actually flaps back over to twin and he sits up all proud like he's ready to hold the ever burning again. He wants to do his little part. Yes. [00:17:11] Speaker A: All right. So what's your marching order in this? [00:17:15] Speaker C: Silver is in the back. [00:17:17] Speaker B: Silver, how wide is the hallway? [00:17:19] Speaker A: It looks like it's about 10ft. [00:17:21] Speaker B: So we could go to a brush. [00:17:22] Speaker A: Yes. [00:17:23] Speaker E: Hands of blue. [00:17:24] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:17:24] Speaker D: So temid wants to be in the second row, like in between. [00:17:27] Speaker E: Everybody, I will happily take front silver, if you don't mind casting light on my shield one more time. [00:17:33] Speaker C: All right. [00:17:34] Speaker E: Thank you. No, on the outside. My eyes. [00:17:38] Speaker C: Sorry. [00:17:39] Speaker A: Other side. [00:17:40] Speaker E: Thank you. [00:17:40] Speaker D: So just to be safe between twin Talon and Pond watcher. Tammy goes, do one of you want light? Because I have it, too. Well, no, you've got a torch. [00:17:50] Speaker B: I got this bird with a torch. And also pond watcher, if you're going to be using your halberd, do you want to be in the second row and I can be in the front? [00:17:55] Speaker A: Sure. [00:17:56] Speaker G: Well, I might have to swing over at her head, so duck. [00:17:59] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:00] Speaker G: I'll yell duck first. [00:18:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:01] Speaker F: We would hope so. [00:18:04] Speaker A: Duck. Where? [00:18:06] Speaker F: He's not a duck. He's raven. [00:18:09] Speaker B: Just mid combat conversation. [00:18:11] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:18:12] Speaker A: All right. [00:18:12] Speaker F: My hair. [00:18:13] Speaker D: All right, so Tem is just going to cast him on himself. [00:18:15] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:16] Speaker G: On his goatee? [00:18:17] Speaker D: I was going to say on a mug, but I don't know if he wants to have a mug out at all times. He's not that. [00:18:22] Speaker B: You have a holy symbol. It's a mug. [00:18:23] Speaker A: Right. [00:18:23] Speaker E: That's true. [00:18:24] Speaker D: That's true. Yeah. That's an excellent idea. He cast it on his holy symbol. [00:18:27] Speaker A: Wait. [00:18:28] Speaker B: It's very symbolic. [00:18:28] Speaker E: Drinkable mug. [00:18:30] Speaker F: Like. [00:18:30] Speaker E: Can you drink out of the holy symbol? [00:18:35] Speaker D: No. [00:18:36] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:36] Speaker D: I'm sure it's a more expensive version, which I do want to buy at some point, which is a good idea. [00:18:40] Speaker A: Is anyone here trained in no nature? [00:18:48] Speaker B: I believe so. [00:18:49] Speaker D: No, I am not. [00:18:50] Speaker C: Let me see. [00:18:51] Speaker E: No. [00:18:52] Speaker C: I believe I am most things, but not. [00:18:56] Speaker D: So you said. No, and then I believe I was joking. [00:18:58] Speaker C: Not in nature. [00:18:59] Speaker B: I am trained in nature. [00:19:00] Speaker A: You're entrained in nature. Anyone else? [00:19:02] Speaker G: Yes, I am trained in nature. [00:19:03] Speaker A: Excellent. What are your modifiers? [00:19:05] Speaker G: Plus six. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Plus six. [00:19:07] Speaker A: Oh, excellent. So, between the two of you, you start following this corridor. [00:19:15] Speaker G: Sniffing like wolverine. [00:19:17] Speaker A: You can tell that you're heading southeast. [00:19:21] Speaker G: This smells like southeast to me. [00:19:24] Speaker B: I tasted the walls. It's definitely southeast. [00:19:26] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:19:28] Speaker G: Slime is always colder. [00:19:30] Speaker A: The south. [00:19:30] Speaker G: Are you it? [00:19:32] Speaker A: After you walk six and a half miles underground, twisting and turning to the. [00:19:39] Speaker B: Wait. [00:19:40] Speaker D: Are we there? [00:19:40] Speaker F: Damn it. [00:19:41] Speaker B: Aren't we under Breech Hill? [00:19:42] Speaker A: At this point, you're actually under the citadel. [00:19:46] Speaker D: So we went all the way back. [00:19:48] Speaker A: To the citadel, but you're under where you were. [00:19:51] Speaker D: Oh, so we're, like, on a third level? Lower that. Like ground level? Second level. Basement two. [00:19:56] Speaker A: Burn. [00:19:57] Speaker D: Basement two. [00:19:57] Speaker A: You're in basement two? Yes. [00:19:59] Speaker G: You think this is where the parking garage is? [00:20:01] Speaker E: I was just about to say that. [00:20:02] Speaker D: As you putting the clicker against his head and trying to extend the range, and he can't find his car. [00:20:11] Speaker F: Sorry. The horse isn't going to knicker any louder. [00:20:14] Speaker A: As you continue this way, you find for the first 3 miles or so dead bodies of spiders and giant centipedes. [00:20:24] Speaker E: This does not bode well. [00:20:27] Speaker D: Are there any of them running away from something like they were the last time we were here? [00:20:32] Speaker A: No, but this time you do notice as well now that more of you have light, that there are skeleton bodies crumpled to the floor as well. [00:20:41] Speaker C: We noticed that last time. [00:20:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I think you told us that. [00:20:45] Speaker B: Refresh my memory. What type of skeletons? [00:20:46] Speaker A: Humanoid. Okay. [00:20:48] Speaker D: Humanoid. Would it be a medicine check to. [00:20:50] Speaker A: Tell or occult or arcana? [00:20:54] Speaker D: It's medicine or occult or arcana. Okay, so he's going to do a medicine check. Do I roll it or do you roll it? [00:20:59] Speaker A: I'll roll it. What's your bonus? [00:21:00] Speaker D: Plus eleven? [00:21:00] Speaker F: Well, I have ten occult and ten arcana. [00:21:03] Speaker B: And I have seven arcana. [00:21:04] Speaker A: All right, so the three of you. So they are humanoid skeletons. The arcana and the occult knowledge are. You can tell that these were skeletons raised by someone using magic, and these have obviously fallen in battle. And that's like a skeleton body. And then, like, a dead spider body, you can assume that vase was heading this way with her undead minions, and then if battle happened, she would probably leave. And you can tell from both of your nature. Yeah, from your nature check. You can see footprints of, like, someone came in and then left, and then there's, like, a skeleton body or a centipede body. [00:21:42] Speaker F: Can I actually do a crafting check on the spiders and centipedes for any fun components? [00:21:47] Speaker A: Sure. [00:21:49] Speaker F: 17. [00:21:51] Speaker A: What level are you now? Three? Four? [00:21:53] Speaker F: Four. [00:21:53] Speaker A: Nothing. [00:21:54] Speaker F: Didn't think so. [00:21:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a five on the die. So, after six and a half miles, you all find yourselves in a hallway. Although this tunnel opens wide into a sprawling cavern, it seems even more claustrophobic. There are vicious numbers of spider webs crisscrossing all over this room. Along the northern wall, several human sized lumps in the webs are thickly wrapped in silk webbing, while the entire floor is covered in a sticky goo. [00:22:24] Speaker E: I don't like this. [00:22:25] Speaker G: This is freaking me out, man. Hey, did somebody take that stark knife? [00:22:31] Speaker D: I did. [00:22:31] Speaker G: I suggest maybe we put light on that and throw it, and it'll come back, see if anything wakes up. [00:22:37] Speaker A: Okay. [00:22:37] Speaker B: That's not a bad idea. [00:22:38] Speaker A: So just for mechanical purposes, the floor is covered in sticky spider webs and therefore is difficult terrain to move through. Okay, here you are in the cave. [00:22:49] Speaker B: So it looks like, from what we can see there, there's two exits to the east and two to the north. [00:22:53] Speaker A: Yes. [00:22:53] Speaker B: Is that accurate? Okay. And nothing to the south. [00:22:56] Speaker A: As far as you can tell. Correct. [00:22:57] Speaker E: Is there any way I can make a breach lord to know if anybody has known about these caves previously or. [00:23:05] Speaker A: The fact that it's going to be really hard? [00:23:08] Speaker E: Yeah, I figured, but. [00:23:10] Speaker A: Woof. [00:23:10] Speaker E: I'm not rolling well today. 16. [00:23:14] Speaker D: Is that right? [00:23:15] Speaker A: Sure. No, not enough. Sorry. [00:23:17] Speaker B: Can I use lower architecture? I feel like I haven't used it. [00:23:21] Speaker A: In, like, ten episodes. [00:23:23] Speaker D: I mean, this is naturally made, so I would say yes. [00:23:27] Speaker B: I'd like to know what the architecture. [00:23:29] Speaker C: Of the webbing, Sean. [00:23:31] Speaker A: It's beautiful. [00:23:32] Speaker C: Can I use bardic lore in terms of under the dark realms stuff? [00:23:36] Speaker A: Oh, like the Darklands and stuff like that? Yeah, absolutely. [00:23:39] Speaker C: See if I can get anything out of that. [00:23:41] Speaker A: That would be. [00:23:42] Speaker B: Yeah, bardic lore commute has any recall knowledge? [00:23:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:49] Speaker C: 26. [00:23:51] Speaker A: This is not part of the Darklands. You know that. [00:23:54] Speaker C: All right. [00:23:55] Speaker A: It's probably the weirdest statement I'm going to make today. This is probably like Midgard. This is like, you're not quite deep enough to be in the Darklands, but you're not in the normal. Like, you're in that weird middle ground. [00:24:09] Speaker C: Where the dwarves used to hang out. [00:24:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:12] Speaker C: All right. [00:24:14] Speaker A: I don't know how many of you have been into mines, like, legit mines, but even though they're huge open areas. [00:24:23] Speaker C: You feel of Mario situation. [00:24:25] Speaker A: Yeah. You feel like the weight of the earth, like, pushing down on you. It's a weird feeling. All right, so that's kind of the feeling you guys have. It's a huge chamber. The ceiling is 20ft high, but it feels like it's, like, right there. Like it's just pushing and pull on you. [00:24:44] Speaker F: Serray is like, right at home. [00:24:45] Speaker C: All right, so this is not in the Darklands, so you all can calm down. But this is where dwarves and stuff used to hang out. [00:24:53] Speaker B: No one said anything about darklands. You're the only one. Stop worrying about the Darklands. [00:24:59] Speaker C: I know you all were thinking it. [00:25:01] Speaker D: Thank you for letting us know. [00:25:04] Speaker G: They were talking about spiders and women and spider women. That could be like a drow dark lands thing. [00:25:12] Speaker B: It's one of you people who can cast light. [00:25:15] Speaker E: Get out of my head. [00:25:18] Speaker D: All right. [00:25:19] Speaker B: I thought your idea was good. I was trying to help. [00:25:21] Speaker G: Thank you. [00:25:22] Speaker D: All right, so temit, I mean, he loses his light, but he puts it on your. [00:25:25] Speaker A: Okay. [00:25:25] Speaker B: And I saw the torch sticking with the raven, holding it. [00:25:28] Speaker F: Just sneak ahead again, throw it like. [00:25:30] Speaker G: A frisbee of light. [00:25:31] Speaker D: No, I like the frisbee of light idea. [00:25:34] Speaker B: So twin Talon will basically use a starkife to see if we can get a little more even if it's just briefly view down the corridors to see. [00:25:42] Speaker D: Are we all doing perception? [00:25:43] Speaker B: If there's like a spider looming in the darkness or anything. [00:25:47] Speaker A: I'm going to move twin Talon's figure as the light source just so you guys can see it. But he has not actually moved. As you throw the starknife, which way are you throwing it? [00:25:56] Speaker B: I will first throw it east and then I will throw it to the north. Assuming I don't know it to the east doesn't do anything bad. [00:26:02] Speaker G: Don't know how far it goes, but. [00:26:03] Speaker A: I'm going to say that's what you can see. Okay. [00:26:05] Speaker B: Is there anything in the southern passage we can see? [00:26:07] Speaker A: And then you're throwing it to the south. [00:26:09] Speaker B: Well, that was like east. [00:26:10] Speaker A: That's east. [00:26:11] Speaker B: If I make it zena pling ching ching around the room. [00:26:15] Speaker E: How? [00:26:16] Speaker F: Again, I don't know if that lower one is actually a passage or if it's just an alcove because I can't see anything in there either. [00:26:22] Speaker B: Like southeast. [00:26:23] Speaker D: They look like alcoves. [00:26:24] Speaker A: Okay. [00:26:24] Speaker B: And then up to north, it looks like it goes farther. [00:26:26] Speaker F: Yeah. This I think is just. [00:26:27] Speaker B: Okay, that's fine. [00:26:28] Speaker E: That was impressive throwing, my friend. [00:26:30] Speaker A: Thanks. [00:26:30] Speaker G: I think we learned a lot. Like no giant spiders jumped out to eat it. [00:26:35] Speaker E: It was a good idea. [00:26:36] Speaker B: Thank you, Tim. And then he'll put the starknife on. [00:26:39] Speaker D: His belt, so then he'll cast light on himself. [00:26:42] Speaker A: Great. [00:26:42] Speaker B: So twin Talon is walking with his short swords out. [00:26:44] Speaker C: Can I cut some of these humanoids? [00:26:47] Speaker A: Sure. Where are you moving to? [00:26:49] Speaker C: I don't want to move yet. [00:26:51] Speaker B: Okay, you have to move far away from anything. [00:26:53] Speaker A: Yeah, you got to move up to. [00:26:54] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll wait until I'll cut things if nothing jump out and attacks us. [00:26:58] Speaker A: Okay, so which way are you all headed? [00:27:00] Speaker D: I want to make it clear that timid also has his weapon out. I don't want to get. [00:27:04] Speaker A: All right, let's switch to exploration mode, which is what we should be doing. So let's go around the table. Matt, what are you doing? [00:27:13] Speaker B: Twin Talon is trying to avoid notice. [00:27:15] Speaker A: Gotcha. Temid. [00:27:16] Speaker D: Temid is going to look around as we move. [00:27:20] Speaker A: Investigate, investigate. Gotcha. [00:27:23] Speaker E: Brienna will have her shield up, so she'll be defending. [00:27:26] Speaker A: All right. Pond watcher. [00:27:29] Speaker G: No, he's going to seek. [00:27:30] Speaker A: He's going to seek creatures. All right, Sareia. [00:27:34] Speaker F: I think she's going to seek as well. Which is perception based. [00:27:37] Speaker A: Yes, it is. Concentrate. [00:27:39] Speaker C: And silver also going to investigate. Probably those. [00:27:43] Speaker A: All right, so temid and silver are using recall knowledge to investigate. [00:27:49] Speaker D: Wait, I thought I was looking around. [00:27:51] Speaker A: Oh, you're seeking. [00:27:52] Speaker D: Yeah, I was looking around. [00:27:53] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry. So you're going to use perception. Anyone seeking is going to use perception. Brianna, you're also going to use perception as you were looking around, but you have your shield raised. The twin Talon is going to use stealth to avoid notice. All right. And Silver is going to use recall knowledge to look for clues. So that'd be recall knowledge, nature or bardic knowledge. Because if you don't have it. All right, so you don't have to roll anything yet. I was just kind of saying. So where are you all moving in this room? [00:28:26] Speaker G: Well, where did we see the humanoid sacks? [00:28:28] Speaker B: To the north, I believe. [00:28:28] Speaker A: To the north, correct. [00:28:29] Speaker E: To the north. [00:28:30] Speaker D: Well, Temid's going to suggest maybe we should just make sure there's nothing to the south so that we don't have anything coming at us from our back. [00:28:37] Speaker E: Wouldn't you argue the same thing of anything coming to the north? This is a pretty large open space passage. [00:28:43] Speaker F: Is the south as a wall fair? [00:28:45] Speaker G: I go into the middle of the room and scream. [00:28:48] Speaker D: Kemet's going to head to the south. [00:28:49] Speaker E: A little bit since he's moving that way. I don't want to break formation, so I will also go south with him. [00:28:54] Speaker A: All right, bestie? Yeah, twin Talon, where are you moving? [00:28:58] Speaker B: I'll be just south of Sareia on the map. So basically in the middle of that round part of this room right there, one back and then one up. Good for radio. [00:29:05] Speaker A: Ok. All right. [00:29:06] Speaker B: What are you doing? No, back to the right. [00:29:09] Speaker A: To the right. To the right. All right. There we go. [00:29:11] Speaker E: Everything yawning. [00:29:12] Speaker A: Okay. No, perfect. Pond watcher, where you move to the middle of the room. Yep. [00:29:17] Speaker G: That's not. No, not that far. [00:29:19] Speaker A: Okay. [00:29:20] Speaker G: Just like right next to Surya. [00:29:22] Speaker A: All right. And silver. [00:29:24] Speaker C: Silver is going to survey the scene from where he. From right there. [00:29:27] Speaker A: From right here? [00:29:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:28] Speaker A: All right, Pond watcher. [00:29:30] Speaker G: Okay. [00:29:31] Speaker A: As you move to the middle of the room, a single gossamer thread lands on your shoulder. [00:29:37] Speaker G: I eat it like spaghetti. [00:29:41] Speaker B: Lady in the trampoline, you're waiting on it. [00:29:46] Speaker G: Just like mama used to make. [00:29:50] Speaker A: Before. [00:29:50] Speaker D: She went and killed dragons. [00:29:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Car blue, you see a medium sized spider lowering from the ceiling. [00:29:57] Speaker F: Can I throw bombs straight up? [00:29:59] Speaker A: Gravity is a thing here. [00:30:01] Speaker F: Yes, but I can still throw. How high are the ceilings? [00:30:04] Speaker A: 20Ft. [00:30:05] Speaker F: Well within my range. [00:30:06] Speaker A: All right, great. Maybe let's roll initiative, please. [00:30:10] Speaker E: Roll again. [00:30:11] Speaker A: Using those stats that I mentioned earlier. Perception. Perception. Perception. Perception. Recall, knowledge, nature, stealth. Temid, what did you get? [00:30:22] Speaker D: 26. [00:30:24] Speaker C: Silver, 25. [00:30:27] Speaker B: Twin, 25. [00:30:29] Speaker A: Oh. Who wants to go first? Silver or twin? [00:30:31] Speaker B: I'll go last. [00:30:32] Speaker A: Sareia, 18. [00:30:34] Speaker E: Brienna, 24. [00:30:35] Speaker A: Okay. And Pond watcher, 18. [00:30:39] Speaker D: I win the initiative thing if Sareia. [00:30:41] Speaker A: You also rolled an 18. [00:30:42] Speaker F: Yes. [00:30:42] Speaker A: Who wants to go first? Sareia or Pond Watcher? [00:30:44] Speaker F: Do you want to stab it or do you want me to check for me? [00:30:46] Speaker G: I don't care. [00:30:46] Speaker F: Okay, I'll try first. [00:30:47] Speaker G: It's going to eat me anyway, so it doesn't matter. [00:30:50] Speaker D: It's going to have indigestion. [00:30:52] Speaker A: Maybe soraya is throwing pepto Bismol at it. [00:30:55] Speaker H: It's true. [00:30:56] Speaker F: Probably throwing acid or fire at it. [00:30:58] Speaker A: Oh, that would definitely keep the indigestion. Yeah, that would keep the indigestion. All right, temid, you go first. [00:31:03] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Did not expect this. [00:31:06] Speaker A: You see three spiders total. [00:31:09] Speaker D: Okay, three spiders. So there's one. [00:31:11] Speaker A: There's one directly lowering down from pond watcher. There is one about 10ft away from silver or 10ft away from twin. And there is one right in front of Brienna and yourself. They're lowering from the ceiling currently. [00:31:27] Speaker D: All right, so he's going to attack this thing, the one that's just to the northeast of him, one square above him and natural 20. [00:31:35] Speaker A: Nice. [00:31:38] Speaker B: Still a name character, right? [00:31:39] Speaker A: He is, yeah. [00:31:40] Speaker D: It's a total of 30. [00:31:43] Speaker A: That's a crit. Yes. Only because you rolled the natural 20. No, I'm kidding. It's a crit. [00:31:49] Speaker D: Still has to hit. [00:31:50] Speaker B: This is a rapier. [00:31:50] Speaker A: Right? [00:31:51] Speaker B: So it's piercing. [00:31:51] Speaker A: It is lodged in the bone. [00:31:54] Speaker B: I like it for this boneless spider. [00:31:56] Speaker F: Carapace. [00:31:56] Speaker B: Lodged in the carapace. [00:31:58] Speaker F: I prefer carpaccio, but okay. [00:32:01] Speaker A: Oh, I love a nice carpaccio. Anyway, go ahead. Sorry, Matt. [00:32:05] Speaker B: Lodged in the carapace. Crit effect. The target takes one d six. Persistent bleed damage. [00:32:11] Speaker A: Wow. [00:32:12] Speaker B: So double damage is normal and then persistent bleed. Unless. I don't think we're high enough level where you have a crit effect on your weapon. So that'd be it. [00:32:18] Speaker D: All right, so let's see. I'm going to get two d six and then it's going to get double to 46. I'm sorry, two d six and then we're going to double that. [00:32:25] Speaker A: Double that. And then you add a bleed. [00:32:28] Speaker D: And I also get deadly. So I get another one. Eight on top. [00:32:30] Speaker A: Oh, but the dudley does not get doubled. [00:32:32] Speaker D: No, 18 to start. [00:32:36] Speaker A: Okay. [00:32:37] Speaker D: 1920 because of the emblazonment. So that's a good start. And then another. It's a bleed. [00:32:44] Speaker B: I think bleed happens on its turn. [00:32:45] Speaker A: Yeah, it happens on its turn but it is persistent. [00:32:48] Speaker D: And then it's another one point from. [00:32:49] Speaker A: The, unfortunately it's not going to get a turn. [00:32:53] Speaker D: So he just steps up and he stabs through this thing right through the incisors or whatever the weird mouth. [00:33:02] Speaker E: Pincers. [00:33:02] Speaker D: Pincers. That's it. The pincers open up mandibles, whatever word that you guys want me to use here. They open up and he stabs straight through it and it goes into the back and he kind of like shish kebabs it a little bit and then he has to pull it out. [00:33:14] Speaker A: It comes out with a schlorping noise and you have purple and black icker on your weapon. [00:33:21] Speaker D: Yeah, well, he's very happy about that fact actually. [00:33:24] Speaker A: All right, Silver, you're up. Oh, that was one action. That's right. I'm sorry. [00:33:29] Speaker D: I forget that you get you're talking about. And then he's going to. Well, you can't step so he is going to move. Okay, I know you only move at half speed and this is regular difficult terrain. [00:33:40] Speaker A: Not greater difficult terrain, regular difficulty. [00:33:41] Speaker D: Okay, so he has 20ft of movement. So he's going to only move, I guess he can only really move 5ft because the diagonal still double every other. [00:33:50] Speaker G: Every other one is. [00:33:51] Speaker D: Yeah, he's going to move there. [00:33:54] Speaker A: Okay. [00:33:55] Speaker D: So there is to the northwest, towards Silver to try to continue to protect him. And then he's going to cast shield. [00:34:03] Speaker A: All right, so you cast shield. Now, silver, it is your turn. [00:34:08] Speaker C: Silver is going to inspire courage. [00:34:10] Speaker A: Step one. [00:34:11] Speaker C: And then he's going to recall knowledge on these nature. All right. Arctic 25. [00:34:19] Speaker A: Okay, you can ask me three questions. [00:34:23] Speaker C: Okay. Do these things have range attacks? [00:34:27] Speaker A: Yes. [00:34:28] Speaker C: Okay. [00:34:29] Speaker A: You know that they're ranged. They can shoot webs at people. Allah. Spiderman. [00:34:35] Speaker C: Okay, do they have a spider queen of some sort? [00:34:39] Speaker A: Not that you know of. [00:34:41] Speaker C: Okay. Can they be harvested for alchemical components? [00:34:47] Speaker A: Yes. [00:34:48] Speaker C: Okay. [00:34:49] Speaker A: All right, that's your three. [00:34:50] Speaker C: All right. [00:34:51] Speaker A: And last action. [00:34:52] Speaker C: Those two. And last action. Yeah, there's nothing really I'm going to do. [00:34:59] Speaker A: Great. Twin Talon, you're up. [00:35:00] Speaker B: Okay, so twin Talon has his blades out and he will move northwest 5ft. So he's next to Surreya. [00:35:09] Speaker A: Okay, you move northwest. So you're next to Surreya. [00:35:11] Speaker B: And I'm actually being flanked by the two spiders. [00:35:13] Speaker A: Yes. [00:35:13] Speaker B: Then I would like to attack the spider which is dangling down over pond Watcher. [00:35:19] Speaker A: Okay. [00:35:19] Speaker B: Natural 17. So that's a 28 to hit. That will hit is that a crit? [00:35:25] Speaker A: Yes, it is actually a crit, Austin. Ten. Higher job. [00:35:27] Speaker F: Oh, we get a good showering spider goo. [00:35:30] Speaker E: Just like. [00:35:31] Speaker F: Was it flash dance or carrying? [00:35:38] Speaker B: All right, here we go. Calf jab. [00:35:40] Speaker A: Which one? You have eight calves to jab one of them. [00:35:44] Speaker B: So it's double damage until healed. The target is clumsy one and takes a negative ten foot status penalty to its land speed. [00:35:50] Speaker A: Ouch. [00:35:51] Speaker F: Let's see. [00:35:52] Speaker A: Clumsy is. I take a status penalty equal to my clumsy value to dexterity based checks and DC, which includes ranged attacks. [00:36:01] Speaker D: Okay, so now roll many, many dice. [00:36:03] Speaker B: I will only roll three. D six. And then I will double that. [00:36:06] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:36:07] Speaker F: Only. [00:36:08] Speaker B: So that's not super great. My bonuses are good. So five, nine plus four is 13, times two is 26. [00:36:16] Speaker A: You kill pawn watcher, apparently because I deleted him and I. So the spider gets skewered by your swords and pond watcher is just covered. [00:36:31] Speaker F: You know that scene in Deadpool when he gets guy on the. Yeah, that's what I'm imagining. [00:36:38] Speaker A: And then, you know the scene in Carrie where they dump pig's blood on. Yeah, yeah, except this is black and purple icker raining down upon pawn watcher. All in his nose and mouth and eyes. [00:36:49] Speaker B: Well, he's just eating the spider's web. Maybe his mouth's open. Yummy, yummy. All right, and then for my third action, he's going to wheel around using momentum from the first strike and see if he can't take out the other spider as well. [00:37:02] Speaker D: If you were to take a step to your left, you can't step, but you could move and then. Oh, wait, you already took two actions. [00:37:09] Speaker A: I'm sorry. [00:37:10] Speaker B: Okay, so two things. One, I've already taken two actions. And two, they haven't gone yet. So they're flat footed to me. [00:37:14] Speaker D: Yes. [00:37:15] Speaker A: Okay. It doesn't help you. [00:37:17] Speaker B: It's not as good. 17, that will. [00:37:22] Speaker A: Oh, but they're flat footed, right? Yes. Minus two. That'll hit. I don't like that. All right. [00:37:29] Speaker F: It's like a stealth based spider is like really good at this shit. [00:37:33] Speaker B: That's 18 damage. [00:37:34] Speaker A: And you kill that one, right, steps. [00:37:37] Speaker B: Over, swings up through the first spider, down through the second spider. [00:37:40] Speaker A: Brianna, it is your turn. [00:37:42] Speaker E: Brianna will wheel around to get the last spider as her friend, like ducks and weaves and kills and be like, can you leave something for the rest of us? Good grief. [00:37:52] Speaker F: Thank you. [00:37:54] Speaker A: We're still in initiative. [00:37:56] Speaker E: Oh, dear. Okay, can I perceive to see if there's. [00:38:00] Speaker A: Yes. You may make a perception. Okay. [00:38:03] Speaker E: How is a 24? [00:38:06] Speaker A: Pretty good? It's pretty good. [00:38:09] Speaker D: You can tell us the result? [00:38:10] Speaker A: Yes, I can. [00:38:11] Speaker D: Oh, come on. Why don't you just double the number of spiders? [00:38:15] Speaker F: There's four more. [00:38:16] Speaker A: Now, as you look around, you see the web. Every time that one of these spiders was killed, you see the web shaking as if it's alerting more spiders. And four more of these creatures come skittering onto the floor and out of the corners. [00:38:33] Speaker D: Man, this isn't good. All right, I see. [00:38:37] Speaker A: Okay. [00:38:37] Speaker D: 1234. I see them. So they're kind of to the north, but I get the feeling that wherever there are webs, they might come. So it's still possible they could come from the south, because there are webs to the south and to the east to the north. [00:38:51] Speaker E: Since you can't move terribly far, she will be rushing over to the nearest spider, which is about 10ft from Pond Watcher and that way also. [00:38:59] Speaker A: What's your speed? 20. [00:39:01] Speaker E: Awesome. I'm still within range. [00:39:03] Speaker A: Correct. [00:39:03] Speaker G: Yeah, it's difficult terrain. [00:39:04] Speaker A: Oh, no, it is difficult. I'm sorry. [00:39:06] Speaker B: I'm just curious because on the map, some of it's got webs, some of it doesn't. [00:39:09] Speaker A: It's all sticky. Yeah, the whole floor is actually. So you can only move there? 510. Yeah, you can only move there. [00:39:15] Speaker E: Okay, so I'll take my second. No, I can't, because I perceived. [00:39:19] Speaker A: Yes. Third action. [00:39:20] Speaker E: I'll move up to it. [00:39:21] Speaker A: Do you want to raise your shield? Yes. So that's your third action, is to raise your shield. [00:39:25] Speaker E: Didn't I? Well, that's for last. Okay, I'll just stand and be me shielded in front of it. [00:39:29] Speaker A: All right. [00:39:30] Speaker E: I don't want to get too well. [00:39:31] Speaker G: No, your shield is raised because you did the defend action. [00:39:33] Speaker A: Right. [00:39:33] Speaker B: But she has to do it every round. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Every round you have to do to maintain. [00:39:36] Speaker G: Isn't this the first round? [00:39:37] Speaker B: Right at the beginning of the round, she had it. [00:39:40] Speaker A: All right. Spider now gets to go because it didn't get mangled. [00:39:46] Speaker B: It's unfortunate. [00:39:47] Speaker D: I mean, another round and we'll take them all out. [00:39:49] Speaker A: It moves up next to pond Watcher and it's going to bite pond watcher for a 25. [00:39:57] Speaker E: No, it doesn't. [00:39:58] Speaker F: Within 15ft. [00:39:59] Speaker E: Are we between 15ft? [00:40:01] Speaker A: Yes. [00:40:01] Speaker B: It still hits him, but you get to damage at least and walk through the stickiness. [00:40:06] Speaker A: Yes. So you're going to take four points of piercing damage, which he does not. He does not. Because of liberating step. Correct. And you may make two steps or three steps. [00:40:18] Speaker E: This is two steps because it is not undead. [00:40:20] Speaker A: Where do you want to go. And it's as if without the difficult terrain. [00:40:25] Speaker G: Right. I'll move one to the right and one up. [00:40:29] Speaker A: All right. I then need you to make a fortitude save. [00:40:34] Speaker G: 13. [00:40:35] Speaker A: All right. You are flat footed and you take three points of poison damage. Was that a reaction that's poisoned? [00:40:43] Speaker B: I think it's part of its bite. [00:40:44] Speaker A: Part of its bite. And then for its second action, it's going to bite. Third action, it's going to take a bite at you. Yeah. [00:40:50] Speaker E: Again, sorry, I can't block this one. [00:40:53] Speaker A: Nine miss. Critical miss. [00:40:56] Speaker B: Yes. [00:40:57] Speaker D: It doesn't matter. [00:40:58] Speaker A: It doesn't matter. They're not named. [00:40:59] Speaker D: That spider's name is Spidey. [00:41:01] Speaker B: It's inky. Blinky. [00:41:02] Speaker D: It's Peter. [00:41:03] Speaker A: Peter. Aren't those ghosts from Pacman? Pacman. All right, spider number two is going to step here. [00:41:12] Speaker F: How do I know? [00:41:13] Speaker B: So it steps up to Sareia and Brianna. [00:41:14] Speaker A: Yes. Bite at Brianna. [00:41:16] Speaker F: Hey, I have poison resistance. No, it should actually be biting me. [00:41:20] Speaker A: 23. That'll hit. All right. [00:41:24] Speaker B: Just barely. [00:41:24] Speaker A: Right. For seven points of damage. [00:41:27] Speaker E: Okie dokie. [00:41:28] Speaker A: And can you make a fortitude save, please? [00:41:30] Speaker E: I certainly can. [00:41:31] Speaker B: Do you want to use your shield. [00:41:32] Speaker E: Block or you not. 20 for a 30. [00:41:35] Speaker A: All right, fine. [00:41:37] Speaker B: Suck at spiders. [00:41:39] Speaker A: And then Sareia, it's using its last action to bite you. Does a. [00:41:46] Speaker D: You can see the sparks flying in. [00:41:49] Speaker B: It was really weird. [00:41:50] Speaker A: 22 hit you. [00:41:52] Speaker F: Yeah, I think I have a 19. And I can't. [00:41:55] Speaker A: I can't. Liberator, you take five damage. [00:41:57] Speaker F: How much of that is poison? [00:41:59] Speaker A: That's all piercing. [00:42:00] Speaker F: Okay. [00:42:00] Speaker A: But you are immune to poison. [00:42:02] Speaker F: I have poison resistance. [00:42:03] Speaker A: Two. Okay, so that means you still need to make a fort save for me, which is 15. Okay, so now you're going to take six points of poison damage. [00:42:14] Speaker B: So you have a distance. [00:42:15] Speaker A: Two. [00:42:15] Speaker B: So you'd only take four. [00:42:16] Speaker A: You take four poison. Yes. Okay, it is now your turn. [00:42:19] Speaker F: Well, someone's going to get some payback on that. [00:42:22] Speaker E: Get him. [00:42:24] Speaker F: She's going to pull out one of her acid flasks that she made this morning with her reagents. Yeah, she's not messing around. And she's going to drop it basically right at their feet. But don't worry. You know me. [00:42:39] Speaker E: I trust you. [00:42:42] Speaker D: Did a crack. [00:42:43] Speaker A: Crack. [00:42:47] Speaker F: Does the 17. Hit it. [00:42:48] Speaker A: 17 will. [00:42:50] Speaker C: They're not flat footed anymore. [00:42:52] Speaker A: Hit it, will. [00:42:53] Speaker B: They're only flat footed to me. [00:42:55] Speaker F: Yeah, the moderate acid flap does. Sorry. Two d. Six persistent. And two splash damage. Seven for this round. So nine total. She's going to try that again if it doesn't go down. [00:43:08] Speaker A: It does not. [00:43:09] Speaker F: Didn't think so. What is my second? I don't think I've ever done a second attack. [00:43:14] Speaker A: It's always taken you two actions to do that. [00:43:17] Speaker F: Now that I have. Quick, bomber. That's a ten. [00:43:21] Speaker A: Now that misses. All right, pond watcher, you're up. [00:43:24] Speaker B: Was that three actions or two actions? [00:43:26] Speaker A: Oh, I'm sorry, I forget. Your bombs now. Only cost you one action to do. [00:43:30] Speaker B: Pretty cool. [00:43:31] Speaker F: Lovely. She's going to withdraw. She's going to go down next to twin, like 5ft on a diagonal southwest. Thank you. [00:43:40] Speaker A: Yes. Now pond Watcher is up. [00:43:42] Speaker G: Ouch. Bitten and covered in blood, I will rage. [00:43:46] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:43:47] Speaker G: Icy stuff comes out of me. Then I will stab the spider 10ft to myself. [00:43:55] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Because I have reach. [00:43:58] Speaker G: Twelve. [00:43:59] Speaker A: That'll miss. [00:44:00] Speaker G: That was a natural two. Thank you very much. [00:44:02] Speaker D: Oh, man. [00:44:04] Speaker A: 18 total. Yes. Will hit. [00:44:07] Speaker D: Yes. [00:44:08] Speaker A: All right. [00:44:09] Speaker G: Okay, get him. [00:44:10] Speaker A: Get him a body back. [00:44:12] Speaker D: Come on. [00:44:13] Speaker G: 16 piercing damage. Four cold. [00:44:16] Speaker A: Yeah. You skewer the spider. As you pull back it, the body convulses around your halberd and it's now stuck on it. [00:44:23] Speaker G: I like killing things far away so that they don't spray all over my face and body. [00:44:29] Speaker D: It's not going to hurt at this point because you're covered in icker. [00:44:32] Speaker A: I'm done. Oh, you're done. Excellent. [00:44:34] Speaker B: There are two spiders to the north that hasn't acted yet, right? [00:44:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, one now moves, actually, first action, it's going to shoot at Pond Watcher with its ranged attack. [00:44:46] Speaker G: And I'm still flat footed from the poison. [00:44:49] Speaker A: Yes. Good. 16 miss. All right, then it's going to scuttle there and then it's going to bite you. Not enough. 13 me. All right, the last one is going to go. It's going to come at you again, brood for a 18 to hit. [00:45:07] Speaker G: That hits. [00:45:08] Speaker A: Ooh. Okay, because I'm flat footed for eight damage. Now, this is a question I have. If another poison effect comes in, if he doesn't save, it advances to stage two. I don't know that'll save, so it doesn't even matter. And then third action will be to bite you again. That's a natural one. So it misses you. All right, we're back to the top of the round. Temid. [00:45:31] Speaker D: So Temid is going to move up, move north 10ft, because that's as far as he can go in one action. [00:45:38] Speaker B: That's not temid. [00:45:39] Speaker D: That is not temid. There's three spiders on pond watcher at the moment one immediately to his north. Is that within 30ft of timid? [00:45:48] Speaker F: Yes, within 25. [00:45:49] Speaker D: All right, so he's going to say two can play that game and then he's going to shoot something at it. [00:45:55] Speaker F: Nice. [00:45:55] Speaker A: All right. [00:45:56] Speaker D: And that's called a divine trident. All right, divine lands. [00:46:03] Speaker A: Gozra, don't make me put water into my mic. [00:46:06] Speaker D: All right, so attack roll natural 20 again. [00:46:11] Speaker F: All right, so Tim is on the hot streak now. [00:46:13] Speaker D: 29. Just so you. [00:46:15] Speaker A: Yeah, you hit overreaction. [00:46:18] Speaker B: Normal damage. The target triggers reactions as if it just used a move action. It is also flat footed until the end of its next turn. [00:46:26] Speaker G: I don't have a reaction. [00:46:28] Speaker F: Yeah, can its fellows turn on it? [00:46:30] Speaker D: So normal damage. It's going to be one d four plus three instead of then it would have been one d, four plus three doubled. Right. [00:46:40] Speaker A: But it's not. [00:46:42] Speaker D: But it's not. [00:46:42] Speaker A: And is this the one directly to pond watchers north? [00:46:45] Speaker D: Yeah, it takes six damage. Six good damage if that matters. [00:46:49] Speaker A: Maybe it's like a good six damage, maybe it doesn't. All right. [00:46:52] Speaker E: A hearty six. [00:46:54] Speaker D: That's all. That was a two action. [00:46:56] Speaker A: Two action cast. Yeah. [00:46:57] Speaker D: So that he's done silver. [00:46:58] Speaker C: Silver is going to cast bardic inspiration again for one action. Then he's going to move up towards one of the. Yes, he's going to move up right towards the west wall and just sort of hug that wall there. [00:47:14] Speaker D: He gets stuck to it. [00:47:16] Speaker C: No, getting stuck to it. And that's all he can really do. [00:47:21] Speaker A: You can move twice. [00:47:22] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess he'll move up a little bit deeper into the room. More north. By hugging the wall the entire time. [00:47:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that's as close to the wall as you can get. [00:47:30] Speaker D: Damn, that's pretty close to the spiders. [00:47:32] Speaker A: Yes, it is. Twin Talon. [00:47:34] Speaker B: Twin talon will move 10ft to the north. He sees that it looks like Timothy. The spiders are up this way. So Sarah and timid are probably okay back there. Now he's flanking a spider so he will attack that one. [00:47:46] Speaker A: I figured I wanted one more turn with my spiders. [00:47:49] Speaker B: 28. [00:47:50] Speaker A: That's a crit. [00:47:51] Speaker D: Nice. [00:47:52] Speaker A: Because they're flat footed cheese still, right? [00:47:53] Speaker B: No, they are not. [00:47:54] Speaker A: Okay, they're not. [00:47:54] Speaker B: Now it's only the first. [00:47:56] Speaker A: Well, it's still a crit. [00:47:59] Speaker B: Pinned arm as the bow. Critical specialization effect. And the target can't use one of its arms until freed. If using a melee weapon, you must drop it to gain this effect. Okay, I'm not going to. So I'll just take the double damage. [00:48:10] Speaker A: Yeah, that works. You don't want to pin it. Pin its arm. [00:48:12] Speaker B: I don't want to drop my sword with the striking rune in it. [00:48:15] Speaker A: Why not? [00:48:16] Speaker B: To pin one of its legs to its dead body. Okay, so on. Got a six, a six, and a five. So that's pretty good. 17 plus four. [00:48:27] Speaker D: You're good. [00:48:27] Speaker B: 21 times two. I'm mathing. 21 times two is 42 damage. [00:48:32] Speaker D: This is why people listen to the podcast. [00:48:35] Speaker A: You do a flourish with your weapon, and you not only cut off all of its legs, you've perfectly prepared it to be cooked. It is like a perfect deboning of a chicken. [00:48:49] Speaker F: So I just want to clarify because we literally just went over this because the other option was like, as a weapon specialty, you could take the double instead. [00:48:56] Speaker B: No, if it doesn't say anything for damage, it's always double damage. If it specifically says normal or triple, then you use that number instead. [00:49:04] Speaker F: Okay. [00:49:05] Speaker B: The effect on here was just that I could pin it if you wanted to. If you wanted to, but I'd have to drop. But if you're using a melee weapon, you have to drop your weapon to do it. Okay, so I chose not to, but if it had said single damage, I would have had to take the single damage. [00:49:15] Speaker A: Yeah. And last action. [00:49:17] Speaker B: There's still another spider there. [00:49:19] Speaker A: Yeah, there is. [00:49:19] Speaker B: It's not flat footed, but I'll tack it anyway. [00:49:22] Speaker A: All right. Who knew a rogue in a dark cave would be doing so well? [00:49:27] Speaker B: So that's a natural 20. [00:49:29] Speaker D: Nice. [00:49:29] Speaker A: Yes. [00:49:31] Speaker B: Pull one of these crit cards. [00:49:32] Speaker D: Wait a second. [00:49:32] Speaker A: That says a 20 at the end of it. [00:49:35] Speaker D: That's true. [00:49:36] Speaker E: Drawn on. [00:49:36] Speaker F: He's reading it as zero two, not 20. [00:49:41] Speaker A: Check his dice. [00:49:42] Speaker B: Chipped bone. The target is clumsy one until healed. So double damage and clumsy. [00:49:47] Speaker D: So it's dead and clumsy is what you're saying. [00:49:49] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:49:51] Speaker B: Accidentally rolled an extra die. I will take the highest die away. [00:49:54] Speaker A: I appreciate that. [00:49:54] Speaker B: Seems only fair. So that's eight plus four is. Twelve, times two is 24. [00:50:00] Speaker A: All right. And that spider is skewered. Yeah. [00:50:03] Speaker B: So twin talon kind of scuttles northward and brings his sword in a perfect level arc bisecting both of the spiders. [00:50:12] Speaker A: All right. The spider that is still around. [00:50:15] Speaker D: Oh, wait. [00:50:16] Speaker B: I keep forgetting to use this ability that I have. Anytime I kill someone, I can use a reaction to demoralize one of the opponents that's still on the field. [00:50:23] Speaker A: Please demoralize my one spider. [00:50:25] Speaker B: I will. But now he does get a bonus because he doesn't understand me. [00:50:30] Speaker A: That's true. [00:50:30] Speaker B: So I think I take a negative four because we don't share a common language. [00:50:34] Speaker F: Murder isn't a common language? [00:50:36] Speaker B: No, he doesn't understand what I say, but he gets the gist. [00:50:40] Speaker E: What do you say? [00:50:41] Speaker A: You're next. I'm looking at you. [00:50:43] Speaker G: Eight. [00:50:45] Speaker B: So normally my intimidation is plus seven. The fee gives me plus two. That's plus nine. Minus four is plus five. [00:50:53] Speaker A: And you're going against it. I'm just going to make it a standard DC then. [00:50:58] Speaker B: Give me a second. [00:50:59] Speaker D: Frightened. It's against their will. DC and they become frightened. One on a success and two on a critical. [00:51:06] Speaker B: All right, so that is a 13 on the die. Plus five is 18. [00:51:12] Speaker A: All right, that beat the Rolly C. That does. [00:51:14] Speaker B: Okay, so they are demoralized. [00:51:15] Speaker A: One. And that makes them frightened. [00:51:17] Speaker D: Frightened one? [00:51:18] Speaker A: Yes. [00:51:18] Speaker B: Or frightened one. Yes. [00:51:19] Speaker A: All right, now the spider goes. It's going to shoot a web at twin Talon because you were just yelling at it. That's fine. 22 to hit. Yes, it hits. All right, great. So you are immobilized and stuck to the nearest surface until you escape. Yeah, you're stuck to the floor. [00:51:40] Speaker E: Is this a new round? My brain just. [00:51:42] Speaker A: Yes, it is. [00:51:43] Speaker E: Well, then you're not. [00:51:44] Speaker B: Oh, cool. I can make a save to get out or try athletics or acrobatics to get out. [00:51:48] Speaker A: Athletics. Yeah. Until you escape. So you have to escape using athletics. [00:51:53] Speaker B: Okay, so if Brianna is using her liberating step on me. [00:51:57] Speaker A: So mad at you guys work too well together. [00:52:00] Speaker B: It's like we're natural. 18. [00:52:02] Speaker D: Nice. [00:52:03] Speaker B: Plus twelve is 30. [00:52:04] Speaker A: All right, so the web hits you and the spiders as it spits two pieces of web at your feet and tries to Spiderman you there and you get hit and you're like, what? And you pick your foot up and it stretches like bubblegum and then just snaps. Okay. [00:52:19] Speaker B: And as my two steps, which is the other part of the burning step, I'm going to move up to flank it with pond Watcher. [00:52:24] Speaker A: Okay. Second action is to bite at twin Talon because you moved close to it. That's a natural one. Third action is going to bite at pond watcher. Yeah. So does a eleven hit you? No. [00:52:42] Speaker D: Is that a critical failure? [00:52:43] Speaker B: Doesn't matter. [00:52:43] Speaker A: No. Seraya. [00:52:45] Speaker D: Oh, that's true. [00:52:46] Speaker F: Yeah, it doesn't. Let's see, my move speed is actually 30ft. It's going to move one, two, three. Then I'm going to chuck Sam a fire bomb at that last little remaining spider. 1314 with silver. [00:53:00] Speaker A: That'll hit. Oh, wow. Okay. It's demoralized. There's a lot of negatives on this poor thing. It's right. [00:53:08] Speaker F: Feel bad, everyone? [00:53:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:10] Speaker B: It shouldn't have been here in my cave before I got here. [00:53:14] Speaker F: It's 13 fire damage. Too persistent. And there's nothing around the splat that I want to splash, but I can apply the two splash to it. [00:53:22] Speaker A: Okay, well, you emulate this spider. [00:53:25] Speaker F: Also cook the one that. [00:53:26] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. You now have cooked spider to eat. [00:53:30] Speaker D: Yummy. [00:53:32] Speaker F: This is a delicacy. [00:53:34] Speaker E: Why does it smell like lobster? [00:53:36] Speaker D: So I know that there are areas in the world in which fried spider and stuff like that. [00:53:42] Speaker A: Or. [00:53:42] Speaker D: No, it might be scorpions. [00:53:43] Speaker C: It's scorpion. [00:53:44] Speaker D: It's scorpion spiders, too? [00:53:45] Speaker F: I think so. [00:53:46] Speaker E: I believe so. [00:53:46] Speaker D: Yeah. This is a delicacy. [00:53:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:48] Speaker D: This isn't necessarily. I mean, I'm willing to try it. [00:53:51] Speaker C: It tastes rather crispy. [00:53:53] Speaker A: That's good. [00:53:53] Speaker D: I like into it. [00:53:54] Speaker F: And then it kind of bursts. [00:53:55] Speaker B: Yeah, that's the carapace. [00:53:59] Speaker D: So. [00:54:02] Speaker G: Does anyone have any cleaner or, like, a caustic substance? I just bought this breastplate, like, yesterday. [00:54:08] Speaker F: I mean, I suppose I could water down some of my. [00:54:11] Speaker D: Tevid walks up to you and he just kind of, like. He says, I got you, buddy. And he presidigitates you clean. [00:54:17] Speaker G: Thank you. [00:54:18] Speaker A: All of the icker kind of like falls and can I actually check them for sure? [00:54:23] Speaker F: Compounds that might be useful to me. [00:54:25] Speaker A: Standard DC 20. [00:54:27] Speaker F: Unnatural. [00:54:28] Speaker A: Yes. You get some stuff. [00:54:30] Speaker C: I'd like to cut open these sacks. [00:54:32] Speaker A: Sure. All right, let's go around the table and figure out what everyone's going to do. So you're going to start cutting open the sacks of things. That's going to take about ten minutes to get all of the sacks open. [00:54:42] Speaker B: Can we see them? [00:54:43] Speaker A: They're actually not on the map. I'm sorry. But they're up here to the north here. [00:54:48] Speaker G: They're kind of in the. [00:54:50] Speaker A: Those round ball things in the north are the sacks of. [00:54:54] Speaker F: Okay, yeah, I see what you're talking about. [00:54:55] Speaker A: So that's what silver is going to do. [00:54:57] Speaker G: Go with silver and keep an eye out. [00:54:59] Speaker E: Brianna Serrat, you're going to do something similar. [00:55:03] Speaker F: You're going to go with the dead spiders. She's going to probably be checking the couple that if we do want to eat them and seeing what we can harvest from them. [00:55:13] Speaker E: Brianna will take a few steps forward to be more or less in the center of the room and just kind of keep her eyes peeled for further trouble. [00:55:20] Speaker A: And twin Talon. [00:55:22] Speaker B: Twin Talon will try to help Sareia. And he will also be keeping an eye on silver and pond watcher. But he's curious with the harvesting of the spider bits. If anything is in there, that's alchemically useful. [00:55:35] Speaker D: All right, so what temid wants to do is he wants to kind of wait for a moment where Surya isn't near anybody. Do you think that there would be an opportunity for that in this period of time? [00:55:49] Speaker A: Everyone starts to investigate the areas or stand guard or harvest bits, and I will let you know what you find next week. [00:55:59] Speaker D: Come on. [00:56:00] Speaker F: Well, that's cool. Poison. [00:56:02] Speaker C: There are goodies in those. [00:56:03] Speaker H: Sex now that all heroes are in the cave, what will they find in the spider webs? Where will they go next? And what mysteries will this tunnel uncover?
