[00:00:32] Speaker A: Hello, hello, hello and happy December 23 to everyone.
As we mentioned last week, we are going to take a quick little break from the main storyline over this week and next week so myself and the rest of the editing crew can spend the holidays with our families. Now that means we're not gonna put out our normal hour long episode, 45 minutes long episode, but I did not want to leave you guys without any content over the next two weeks, so please enjoy these next two little interludes to give you a little bit of behind the scenes slash. What else is happening at the same time that our heroes are dealing with the main storyline? Don't forget that New Year's Day, January 1, the whole team will be back at it again on our Twitch channel with a new episode of Absalom in order. That's right, no rest for the wicked. We're taking two weeks off of the main feed here, but we'll be back January 1 with a new episode of Absalom in order. 01:00 Twitch TV Crackeddie and also January 6, we will be releasing our next regular full length episode. So with that, I'm going to kick it over to the interlude here. Have yourselves a merry, merry, happy whatever you celebrate and we will see you very soon.
Faint light flickers off the walls of a red rocked room, looking into a swirling cauldron engraved with carvings of tortured souls. The brilliant green eyes of a man reflect back off the swirling muddy water. Faint ghostly images undulate in the liquid. The very faintest image of a lazarite golem surfaces in the cauldron. We see a scimitar slash into the creature. A slight smirk appears on the weathered face of the man.
[00:03:09] Speaker B: Ah, I see you haven't changed from your old tricks.
Same old Brianna.
[00:03:17] Speaker A: With a quick snap of his fingers, a robed gnome glides into the room.
[00:03:23] Speaker C: Yes?
[00:03:25] Speaker B: Have you located the other two?
[00:03:31] Speaker C: No, sir. They're pretty proving to be quite difficult to pin down. Unlike that old man, they still have much life and vigor in them.
[00:03:48] Speaker A: The gnome looks up at the man, who seems to be looking younger and younger each day, disheartening to say the least.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: Well, keep up the efforts.
That dragon blooded one would surely taste powerful.
I think that our time is coming quicker than we thought it would.
Gather the family and reach out to our gnoll friend. Let her know that most of the family will be coming to visit her very shortly.
[00:04:24] Speaker C: But sir, do you think that this is the most prudent move?
We are still recovering from the last time we met.
We haven't even been able to find suitable replacements for the family we lost.
[00:04:43] Speaker A: The gnomes eyes widen at the thought of another conflict.
[00:04:47] Speaker B: Yes, yes, I know. However, with her power and our element of surprise, this should be the best course of action.
[00:04:59] Speaker A: A knowing smile crossing his lips.
[00:05:03] Speaker C: Should we take our big brother and sister with him?
[00:05:07] Speaker B: No, they are not ready. They need a bit more time.
[00:05:12] Speaker A: With that, the gnome scurries out of the room to gather her team and start the move to meet with their associates in Contago.
The man turns around to an elderly man chained to the wall, dressed in tattered blue and gold robes and a small image of a sun around his neck. His skin dry and pallid, he is hung over a pit that is swarming with hundreds of thousands of brown and red scorpions squirming right below his feet.
[00:05:44] Speaker B: Now then, we can make this quick and relatively painless, or you can struggle, withhold information, and be otherwise rude, and this will be much, much, much more painful for you.
I would prefer if you do. The second the pain puts a particular sweetness to your blood.
[00:06:09] Speaker A: It the sand beaten skin of a large, pale man slumps over a bar in a bustling town.
The skulls of several barghasts slam onto the bar.
The bartender looks up. A few silver change hands as the bar keeper takes the heads and puts them behind the bar.
[00:06:58] Speaker D: You do some good work, son, keeping these few fiends out of our lands.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: The sand beaten large man nods his head.
[00:07:08] Speaker D: You keep this up, and your stay here is on the house.
You dont say much now, do you, son?
[00:07:16] Speaker A: The bar keeper slides a cool glass of water towards the man. He takes it, drinks it down slowly, letting the contents of the drink settle into his stomach.
[00:07:26] Speaker D: Well, anyway, I still havent seen that old man you came here looking for. But, uh, you keep up this good work, and youre going to be the head of the guard here.
[00:07:36] Speaker A: The large, pale man grunts. With that, he stands up, shakes off some of the sand and dust, and grabs his mothers halberd, and walks back out into the mana waste, looking for his lost friend.
The trip through Osiria was hard, but he managed to get through it with little to no problems.
Getting a boat to Absalom was easy as well. However, once there, the hustle and bustle of the big city was almost too much. There seemed to be a lot of commotion around the opening of a closed district, a festival that happens only once every 100 years, happening soon.
However, this would not distract him. He had a mission, and he would accomplish it. If anyone knew about his original capture, it would have to be here. After greasing the right palms and getting into the right parties, he knew he was close.
This party would get him to the person he needed to deal with.
Dressed in the finest clothes he could gather, he walks into the party.
He approaches a tall blonde man with a chin strapped beard that matches his corn silk colored hair. The man smiles at him as he takes a long sip from a golden goblet. Finally, a cool, silky voice comes from the blonde man. Huh. So glad you could make it. I hope you find all this to your liking.
It should be perfect. Not a single gold coin was spared for this.
Now you run off and enjoy yourself.
Timid alarm bells go off in his head.
How did this man know who he was? No one should know that he had been so careful. Terror, shock and horror. All these emotions cross temed's face as he draws out his rapier.
So much for the party, I guess.
