[00:00:39] Speaker A: Welcome to the hundred and 13th episode of the Cracked Die podcast, lucky 113. [00:00:47] Speaker B: Definitely lucky. [00:00:49] Speaker A: It's a star. And Christ. [00:00:54] Speaker C: Wow. [00:00:55] Speaker D: She's all free now, so I think we're okay. [00:00:57] Speaker C: I mean, yeah, she is free now. Congrats, Brittany. [00:01:00] Speaker B: Oh, thank goodness. [00:01:02] Speaker A: So, in all of the excitement of last episode and those massive level ups, I forgot to talk about a new rule that we're implementing today. [00:01:14] Speaker E: What? [00:01:15] Speaker A: Yes, new rule. We're using Paizo's brand new hero point deck for the players. Only because I don't get hero points in this game. [00:01:25] Speaker E: You don't even get villain points. They're fun. [00:01:27] Speaker A: No, I know, I know. So what the hero point deck is, is it is a deck of 52 cards, convenient number, that are shuffled and randomly dealt out to the players whenever they would get a hero point. When they would use a hero point, they can turn a card in, or the cards have effects that say, like, when an enemy attacks and misses you, you can play this card, which would burn your hero point, but the enemy makes a new attack roll against one of their allies, adjacent allies, and they have to attack them now. So these are now added to the game. So whenever someone uses a hero point, they're going to discard a card, or if they want to use a effect on the hero point card, just let me know. And I don't know if the players know this, but we've already had some user submitted hero point cards from our $10 and up patrons. [00:02:31] Speaker D: We have hot dog. [00:02:33] Speaker A: Yes, we have. [00:02:34] Speaker E: Well, thanks, folks. [00:02:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I secretly messaged all of our ten dollar and up patrons that they now get to add a card to this deck as well. So there are patron and, and I told them to go crazy because only you guys can get them. So these should be good. The ones I've put in have been pretty good so far. [00:02:56] Speaker E: How will we know if they're. [00:02:58] Speaker A: Oh, it will say submitted by bottom on the bottom. Yep. And our. And, and just so you guys know, our patrons are getting a lot smarter with how they word cards. And it's like, hey, if they critically succeed or have an ability that turns a regular success into a critical success, I'm like, oh, you guys are getting smart. [00:03:19] Speaker E: Yeah, that'll happen with like, juggernaut or evasion. Got it. Okay. [00:03:23] Speaker A: But they, they specifically call out, like, those skills saying that this, those also count for the cards effect. [00:03:31] Speaker C: Very nice. [00:03:32] Speaker A: So, well, last time you guys came into the long roads, coffee house found two bodies on the floor. Some floating ghost looking things started to attack. Twin Talon hellhounds from out of nowhere were attacking twin Talon. And the bells of Notre Dame. Or just bells were ringing very loudly. But you are all not very frightened or shooketh by theme. [00:04:01] Speaker B: You have no idea how tempted I am to start singing. [00:04:05] Speaker C: I know, right? [00:04:06] Speaker B: Sean. Sorry. Keep going. [00:04:08] Speaker A: What? Bells of Notre Dame. What is that from? That's not from a Disney thing, is it? That would instantly sue us if we were to use their intellectual property. What? Okay, so we left. Twintalon had just killed one of the floaty ghost things. He's now standing in a defensive position. These weird marks on his body have started to glow. And is now twin talents. No, it is now knife sword's turn. I don't know who's who anymore. [00:04:40] Speaker C: This is not just doing it to the women anymore. [00:04:44] Speaker A: Knife sword, take your turn. [00:04:46] Speaker F: But Sean, I already did. Everyone's dead. [00:04:49] Speaker A: Everyone. [00:04:50] Speaker E: That's not good. [00:04:52] Speaker C: I'd rather not be. [00:04:54] Speaker B: I can't do that, Sean. [00:04:58] Speaker F: So I'm gonna move into twin talon space. [00:05:01] Speaker A: Okay? [00:05:02] Speaker F: And then I'm going to. And I think this is how this works. I'm not positive this. This spell has a 30 foot burst for 500ft. [00:05:13] Speaker C: So you can place the burst anywhere within 500ft. [00:05:16] Speaker F: Is that what it means? [00:05:17] Speaker A: Yes. [00:05:18] Speaker F: So I can center it anywhere within that 500ft. It doesn't have to emanate from me. [00:05:22] Speaker E: Yeah, no, I don't think you can. [00:05:25] Speaker F: Honestly stand on top of you. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:05:28] Speaker E: You can't occupy the same space. [00:05:29] Speaker A: I think it's. [00:05:29] Speaker E: Unless we're two sizes or three sizes different, depending on. [00:05:33] Speaker A: Or you're in a backpack and we use the writing. [00:05:36] Speaker F: Okay, well that's fine. So that. Oops. I put it right there like this. That gets. Oh boy. It's these guys. But not twin Talon, right? [00:05:46] Speaker A: Yes. [00:05:47] Speaker E: One enemy, the other guy's a dead guy. As far as we know, that is a body that has hit the floor. Someone has let that body hit the floor. [00:05:54] Speaker F: Hmm. This might be overkill then. Anyway, no problem. [00:05:59] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:06:01] Speaker F: So yeah, I'm casting this. I'm casting phantasmal calamity. A vision of apocalyptic destruction fills the mind of each creature in the area. The vision deals eleven D six mental damage on a basic will save on a critical failure. The creature must also succeed at a reflex save or believe it's trapped, stuck in a fissure, adrift sea or some other fate. Keeping with its. Keeping within its vision. If it fails the second save, it's also stunned for 1 minute. It can attempt a new will save at the end of each of its turns. And on successes, it disbelieves the illusion and recovers from the stunned condition. [00:06:34] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm gonna make a basic. [00:06:36] Speaker F: Will save DC 30. [00:06:39] Speaker A: Okay. I failed. Critically failed. So go ahead and roll damage. [00:06:45] Speaker E: Also succeeded. A reflex save. [00:06:46] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:06:48] Speaker E: Oh, my God. [00:06:49] Speaker A: That was. I thought we weren't playing shadow. [00:06:52] Speaker F: I made it happen. [00:06:53] Speaker C: Did you not hear the eleven D six? [00:06:56] Speaker A: Oh. All right. Reflect. The creature must also make a reflex save at the 30. So let's see if I can do that reflex save. 30. 30. Oh, wait, no. That's how much damage you did. 26. Which means I am stunned for 1 minute. Oh, my goodness. [00:07:22] Speaker E: Hey, you can make a save at the end of each of your turns that you've missed because you're stunned to not be stunned. [00:07:31] Speaker A: Oh, my God. That's. That's bad. That's real bad. [00:07:38] Speaker F: Apologies to any townsfolk that may have been on the outside of the wall and got hit by that. [00:07:42] Speaker E: I don't. I don't think it goes through walls. I'm hoping it doesn't go through walls. [00:07:48] Speaker A: All right. Is that all you're doing? No, you have one more action left. [00:07:53] Speaker F: Oh, okay. [00:07:55] Speaker B: Magic missile. [00:07:56] Speaker A: Oh, okay. And what level is this? [00:08:00] Speaker F: Let's do it. Level three. One action. [00:08:04] Speaker A: One action. All right. [00:08:05] Speaker F: Had one left right at his ankle. [00:08:07] Speaker A: That. That looks like all of the damage goes through, by the way. [00:08:11] Speaker E: Yeah, forced damage is like that. [00:08:13] Speaker A: All right, Brianna. [00:08:14] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:08:16] Speaker A: It is your turn. [00:08:17] Speaker B: So there's something I feel like you should keep casting. Is that weird? [00:08:21] Speaker E: Gotta do what you feel. [00:08:23] Speaker B: Or alternatively, can I vault over tables? Is that a thing? [00:08:30] Speaker A: I'll say it'll take you. You'll have to move at half speed and make an athletics check, but, yes, I'll let you vault over a table. [00:08:39] Speaker E: I think with those restrictions walking around, it would be faster. Maybe not. [00:08:44] Speaker B: It's just like, how do. How. [00:08:47] Speaker E: How do. [00:08:48] Speaker B: How do. [00:08:49] Speaker A: It's technically 25ft to go all the way across. [00:08:53] Speaker B: Okay, then I will do that over the table and around. [00:08:58] Speaker A: If you go around 35 to 40. [00:09:02] Speaker B: Okay, so I'm gonna vault over the table, then. [00:09:05] Speaker C: Okay. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Like I wanted to. What is happening? [00:09:09] Speaker A: Okay, I just. I moved you to the other side. [00:09:11] Speaker F: It's like he's playing euro rails. [00:09:13] Speaker B: You said athletics. [00:09:15] Speaker A: Athletics. To go over the table. [00:09:17] Speaker B: 26. [00:09:18] Speaker A: That's enough. [00:09:19] Speaker B: Beautiful. Then I say, with Serendi's light, I smite thee with my mighty blade. Sorry, I had to call back to Tiano. I love her so much. And as my last action, I will strike. [00:09:37] Speaker A: All right, swing away. [00:09:39] Speaker B: How's a 32? [00:09:41] Speaker A: Oh, that's a lot of damage. That's a hit. That's definitely a hit. [00:09:44] Speaker B: Almost a crit for 15 points of damage plus. [00:09:49] Speaker C: Whatever. [00:09:50] Speaker B: Good. It's one d, four. [00:09:52] Speaker A: One d, six. Good. [00:09:53] Speaker B: One D, six. Good. Take an additional nine. Good damage. [00:09:58] Speaker F: Oof. [00:09:58] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:59] Speaker B: For the smite. For disrupting. [00:10:01] Speaker A: So Brianna jumped over the table with a flourish. Stabbed. And you have one more action. [00:10:08] Speaker B: Nope, that is my turn. [00:10:09] Speaker A: Okay. [00:10:10] Speaker B: Because I smote him. [00:10:13] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. Well, I'm stunned that you guys are doing so well. What? No, I actually read this, and I was like, oh, this is gonna be a rough battle, but apparently it is not. [00:10:26] Speaker B: You got this? [00:10:28] Speaker A: Yeah. All right, so I need to make a new will save at the end of my turn because I'm stunned. [00:10:33] Speaker E: Is it will or reflex? It is will. You're right. [00:10:38] Speaker A: Yeah. It can attempt a new will save at the end of each turn. [00:10:41] Speaker E: It's just weird because it was a reflex save to see if you got stunned to begin with. [00:10:45] Speaker A: Oh, that's a three on the die. That's still not going to be enough. All right, that's my turn. [00:10:50] Speaker D: Ooh, they gonna learn today. They gonna smell what the ooh. Is cooking. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Why is it tuna? Tuna. [00:10:59] Speaker D: Tuna. That took me too long. Sorry. [00:11:07] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:11:08] Speaker D: All right, who's coming down with her. [00:11:10] Speaker E: Fists, which is different than the normal thing she's coming down with, I'm assuming. [00:11:15] Speaker A: Normally it's not a cold. [00:11:17] Speaker B: I was about to say. [00:11:20] Speaker A: Ooh, I quit. That's a critical. [00:11:25] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [00:11:26] Speaker F: Wow. [00:11:27] Speaker A: It's a double critical. [00:11:29] Speaker E: Is it? [00:11:30] Speaker A: Which means. [00:11:31] Speaker C: Oh, it's. It's ten above and wouldn't have to be in that 20. [00:11:35] Speaker E: Yeah, it's a natural 19. [00:11:37] Speaker A: Oh, no, no, no. It is a single crit. You're right, you're right. I can't math. I thought it was a natural 20. Nope, it's still a crit. Draw your crit card. [00:11:45] Speaker D: Okay, there it is. This one is called and stay down. Normal damage. Nice crit effect. The target is knocked prone and stunned too. [00:12:00] Speaker A: Well, yes. [00:12:03] Speaker C: Yes. [00:12:06] Speaker B: That'S her girl. [00:12:08] Speaker D: 436 damage. All right, so that's one. [00:12:13] Speaker E: Yeah, I would like to use reactive murder. [00:12:18] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and use reactive murder. [00:12:21] Speaker E: That is a 38 to hit. It's flat footed, stunned. [00:12:24] Speaker A: That is critical. [00:12:25] Speaker E: Great nerve cluster. Normal damage. Target is stunned too. Okay, whatever. It's just nothing. But it is. 15 damage. 1515 ghost touch damage. [00:12:42] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. Oh, I forgot. You have the stupid ghost touch. [00:12:46] Speaker E: Knife sword makes things possible. [00:12:48] Speaker D: All things are possible through knife sword. [00:12:50] Speaker A: All right. Ooh. Would you like to do your third action? Possibly your second attack? [00:12:55] Speaker D: Second action. [00:12:55] Speaker E: It's third. You had to move and attack. [00:12:57] Speaker A: You had to move. [00:12:58] Speaker D: No, yours. Right, sorry. All right, a fight again. [00:13:02] Speaker A: How do you debilitate it again? [00:13:05] Speaker E: Yeah, sure. Enfeebled one. [00:13:07] Speaker A: All right, well, now it is. That's a regular hit. Unfortunately. [00:13:11] Speaker D: All right, merge for 22 points. [00:13:21] Speaker A: I don't even know why I play. It's okay. [00:13:29] Speaker E: I'll take it and you'll like it. [00:13:31] Speaker A: No, I won't like it. Well, Saraya, it is your turn. [00:13:35] Speaker C: Well, it works so well last time. Jasper's gonna make me another two greater ghost charges. And I'm exactly 30ft away. So I'm within my far lobber range. [00:13:49] Speaker A: That's a critical hit. [00:13:51] Speaker B: Yes, yes, yes. [00:13:54] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Well, I'm glad you guys are having fun. [00:14:01] Speaker C: I'm having so much fun. When do I get to do this? [00:14:04] Speaker B: While I was. [00:14:04] Speaker C: Sorraya. So there's the damage. It'll be 20 pawsy. I'm drawing my card. Hang on. Bum or spell. The target is slowed to for one round. [00:14:16] Speaker D: Nice. [00:14:17] Speaker A: I didn't know I was playing a game of how many conditions can we apply to one creature. [00:14:23] Speaker C: Obviously we are. [00:14:25] Speaker A: Yeah, Rob. All right, I'm gonna do double damage. Rob, what's up? [00:14:29] Speaker F: I'm just gonna say, guys, we should be careful if we do too much of this kind of stuff, you know, I think the NPC's might get upset and go on strike. So, you know, just. We really need to like, you know, rein ourselves in a little bit, maybe. [00:14:44] Speaker B: All right. [00:14:44] Speaker A: All right. [00:14:45] Speaker C: So since that was also a critical hit, he's also it feeble, too. [00:14:50] Speaker B: Yep. [00:14:52] Speaker C: And don't forget the three splash. [00:14:54] Speaker A: Yep. I'm gonna say that the three splash hit the. Because it's 15 foot, right? [00:15:01] Speaker C: 15 foot cone or to itself. [00:15:04] Speaker A: Or do you want to get rid of the bells or do you want to do more damage to it? [00:15:08] Speaker C: I'm gonna get rid of the bells. [00:15:09] Speaker A: Okay. All right. That was your first action or your second action? [00:15:13] Speaker C: My second action. Jasper took my first. My first action, which was to make my bomb. So I'm throw another one all the way back here. It's a 26 hit. [00:15:21] Speaker A: That's another critical. No, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. That's a regular hit. That's a regular hit. That's a regular hit. I just assumed it was a crit. No, sorry. That's a regular hit. [00:15:30] Speaker C: Alrighty, so that's still three eight plus three posi for twelve more positive damage. [00:15:38] Speaker A: It's dead combat is over. [00:15:42] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. Hell, yeah. [00:15:44] Speaker A: Two rounds to take those guys out. [00:15:47] Speaker C: She cackles when it disintegrates or does whatever it does, just does, like, a little dance in the corner. [00:15:53] Speaker E: Two rounds and three episodes. Take care of these guys. [00:15:58] Speaker C: Take care of these guys. Yeah. [00:16:00] Speaker A: Well, once you guys leveled up. Yeah. Okay. So you are in, quite obviously, a public dining room. There are two bodies on the floor. And that's it. [00:16:10] Speaker E: So I just want to step back a minute about Kip up, which was. I don't even know. Maybe that was last episode. It doesn't trigger reactions. It specifically says that. So nice. [00:16:19] Speaker A: Oh, nice. So even if I did have attacks of opportunity, wouldn't have mattered. Okay. [00:16:25] Speaker E: All right. Public dining room. [00:16:27] Speaker A: Public dining room. Bodies on the ground. [00:16:30] Speaker E: On the floor. [00:16:31] Speaker C: I guess we should investigate them. [00:16:33] Speaker B: Might as well. [00:16:34] Speaker D: I would like to check their pockets. [00:16:37] Speaker C: I was going to do a medicine check to see what happened, but. Okay. [00:16:41] Speaker A: Okay, well, let's move into exploration mode real quick. And I'm just going to go down the list here, sir. Christine, what would you like to do in the next ten minutes? [00:16:52] Speaker C: I'm going to check out one of the bodies, see if we can figure out who they are and what happened. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Okay, do you have a preference of the one on the west or the east? [00:17:00] Speaker C: I will go to the west because they are directly south of me and a little bit closer. [00:17:03] Speaker A: Okay. [00:17:04] Speaker D: Heidi, I would like to walk over to the north east one. Sorry, you said you were going to the southwest? [00:17:10] Speaker A: Yep. [00:17:11] Speaker D: Okay, so I'll go to the northeast one and start rifling through pockets or pants or shirts or whatever. [00:17:17] Speaker A: Well, the body. Haya, what would you like to do? [00:17:21] Speaker B: I think my friend is really hurt and would like to help him. [00:17:23] Speaker E: Thank you. [00:17:27] Speaker A: Do you really want to hurt him? Do you really want to make him cry? [00:17:31] Speaker B: No, I don't want to hurt him. I want to heal him. [00:17:33] Speaker A: Oh. Oh. I was hoping it was the other one. [00:17:35] Speaker B: No. No. [00:17:36] Speaker A: Okay, Matt, what would twintalon like to do besides bleed? [00:17:41] Speaker E: Twintalon would like to take a seat on the stool, and he will allow Brianna to patch him up. And he's going to start looking at his arms, trying to figure out what the hell just happened to his tattoos. [00:17:50] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. Also, rage is now done on YouTube, and so is the weird feeling around you. Okay. And, Rob, what would knife sword like. [00:18:03] Speaker F: To do that large structure to the south? Is that the bar? [00:18:07] Speaker A: It is indeed a bar. [00:18:09] Speaker F: I'm gonna go loot the bar. [00:18:11] Speaker B: Of course. [00:18:12] Speaker A: Okay, so, Brianna, please give me a medicine check. [00:18:20] Speaker B: That's a critical fail even with a 17. That is very frustrating. [00:18:24] Speaker A: Yes. [00:18:25] Speaker B: May I roll again? [00:18:26] Speaker A: All right, hero pointing it or rolling again? [00:18:29] Speaker B: I'll hero point it. Why not? Okay, that's a little bit better for at least the 15 DC one. [00:18:34] Speaker A: Yep. So that's d eight healing. [00:18:37] Speaker B: Brianna will be slowly patching her friend up and kind of looking at his arms and said, are you feeling okay with. What exactly was that? You glowed there. [00:18:46] Speaker E: I don't know. I felt like when I. Ooh. Hit me with the rage, like something. I don't wanna say. Primal awoke. I don't know, but I can't feel it now. I don't know. [00:18:58] Speaker B: Do you think it was oo that caused it or what? [00:19:01] Speaker E: When you got the rage, it didn't do anything like that to you. She doesn't do anything like that to her, so I'm not sure. I don't know. [00:19:07] Speaker B: I mean, my arms are never bare. I'm under, you know, this blade mail all the time. She'll, like, knock on it and bang, bang. [00:19:15] Speaker E: That's true. Being a steel nun is. But different, I guess. [00:19:22] Speaker B: Okay. I'm not a nun. I'm not celibate. Okay. [00:19:27] Speaker A: Ooh's ears perk up at the words not celibate. [00:19:33] Speaker B: I was sorry to say it, to be fair. I'd like to, while we're doing this, also lay on hands, if that's okay. Just a tuple. [00:19:42] Speaker A: No. Yeah, absolutely. [00:19:44] Speaker E: Single action. [00:19:46] Speaker F: Sorry. Just because she said, I'm not celibate. And then she said she's gonna lay on hands. I'm sorry, I just. [00:19:52] Speaker B: Yep. Hell, yeah. Thank you. [00:19:56] Speaker E: Feel better. [00:19:58] Speaker C: Just proving a point there. [00:20:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Just laying it on thick. Okay. [00:20:05] Speaker D: Who says she wants one? [00:20:09] Speaker A: So if I'm reading this correctly, you get six points, and then this heightens to level, so 36. Yeah. Okay. While you guys are talking about your tattoos and whatnot, Saraya and oo, you both discover that these bodies are members of the Scarlet triad. [00:20:33] Speaker C: Okay, so they're the bad guys. [00:20:36] Speaker A: They're bad guys. They have mundane gear, basic sword, normal armor, standard manacles, keys to the manacles. Nothing that really stands out to you. [00:20:46] Speaker C: Can I tell, like, I was looking more specifically for, like, how they died? [00:20:52] Speaker A: That is a good question. Give me a medicine check. [00:21:00] Speaker C: 17. [00:21:02] Speaker A: They're dead. It looks like one of them was hit with. It looks like the one you're looking at was hit upside the head with some sort of blunt instrument. There's a crack in their skull and a little bit of blood pooling out. Well, it's a head wound. So a lot of blood pooling out. You also notice that they are like. Yes, I know they're dead and they're pale, but they're more pale than you would have expected. As if something frightened them. [00:21:27] Speaker C: So perhaps it was the haunts that got to them. [00:21:29] Speaker A: Perhaps you also noticed that there are several burn marks in the body, as if a flaming weapon hit them. [00:21:37] Speaker E: Ooh. [00:21:37] Speaker A: You don't really find anything exciting to pilfer from them. [00:21:41] Speaker C: I don't know. I feel like she might be into the manacles. [00:21:44] Speaker A: You guys have so many manacles already in your butt. I guess it's true. [00:21:48] Speaker B: Manacles from this place. [00:21:51] Speaker C: I'm gonna put fur on the insides of these ones. [00:21:55] Speaker D: I have a story about that for later. [00:21:58] Speaker E: Hey. [00:22:01] Speaker D: Since I'm bored with this gentleman over here who's definitely dead, who's gonna. I feel like she probably would notice that there is some rummaging going behind the bar and get super pumped about that. So she's gonna walk over to the bar. [00:22:14] Speaker A: Okay. As you walk around the bar, knife sword is back there. Rummaging. And what are you looking for? Knife, sword, specifically, any kind of, like. [00:22:26] Speaker F: You know, some liquor, some beer, some bread. I don't even know where food cleaner. [00:22:36] Speaker A: You don't see. You do see some food. It looks like there's some bread on the bottom, some little cucumbers, and a little bit of cheese on top. They're cut into beautiful little triangles. But the one thing you do notice is there are a lot of beans down here now. Nothing. Not, like, mushy, like toast and beans. Beans, but, like, hard coffee beans. [00:23:03] Speaker F: Hmm. I'll gather them up. [00:23:05] Speaker A: You also notice that there are some french presses down there. [00:23:08] Speaker F: I'll grab one of those. [00:23:09] Speaker A: And those really fancy coffee makers where you pour, like, the boiling water over the grounds and it drips through. [00:23:17] Speaker E: Isn't that every coffee maker? [00:23:19] Speaker A: Well, no, like, the fancy, like, open top drip coffee. [00:23:22] Speaker F: I'm gonna. I'm gonna pop my head up above the bar real quick and be like, brianna, can you come here for a second? [00:23:27] Speaker B: Once I'm done over here with Twintalon, I'll happily do so. Yep. [00:23:31] Speaker A: Ooh, you find some scones, your scones, on the back table there. Some what looks like a cookie, but only half of it's been dipped in chocolate. [00:23:43] Speaker D: She's eating it. [00:23:45] Speaker A: Okay. It's kind of hard, but, you know, for a biscotti, it's not bad. [00:23:50] Speaker F: Sounds like someone messed up and didn't dip the other half in chocolate. [00:23:53] Speaker A: Right. [00:23:54] Speaker E: Those are just the finger marks. For the person dipped in, they can't, like, you know, can't dip where the fingers are. [00:23:59] Speaker A: But, yeah, this is ye olde Starbucks, essentially. [00:24:03] Speaker B: I love it. [00:24:04] Speaker C: I may or may not later go rummaging for all the spices I can find. [00:24:08] Speaker F: Now I want a London fog. [00:24:11] Speaker E: It sounds like tea. This is a coffee house. [00:24:13] Speaker C: You said there was cardamom. [00:24:14] Speaker B: What do you mean? They don't serve tea drinkers. It's rude. [00:24:17] Speaker A: Yeah, you see, this is for real people only. No namby pamby tea drinkers welcomed. [00:24:23] Speaker B: Wow. [00:24:25] Speaker C: Oh, I know what? [00:24:26] Speaker B: I'm not bringing my business. [00:24:27] Speaker C: Surya takes personal offense. [00:24:29] Speaker F: Yeah, but didn't they invade and conquer tevanian law? [00:24:34] Speaker A: That's over in Mankai. Okay, so you are. You've thoroughly searched this floor. You notice that there is a back door, and then it looks like two other doors. One to the southeast of oo, and then one to the south of oo. [00:24:54] Speaker E: And then one on the south wall as well. [00:24:55] Speaker A: And then the south wall as well, which is. Yes, facing the outside. And then there is a hearth and a fireplace that is roaring. [00:25:05] Speaker E: Oh. Means, I guess whatever happened, just happened. [00:25:07] Speaker C: Yeah. This is recent. [00:25:09] Speaker E: Hopefully they got the kite warning before they got attacked. [00:25:12] Speaker C: Hoping so. [00:25:13] Speaker B: Well, shall we press on? Where to next? [00:25:17] Speaker E: I guess we opened some doors. [00:25:19] Speaker C: It looks like one of the doors is opened because I can see a little bit into it. It looks like it's a storeroom. That would be the one slightly more to the north. [00:25:28] Speaker D: Do y'all want me to take a little piggy in? [00:25:31] Speaker B: Certainly. [00:25:31] Speaker D: Yep. [00:25:32] Speaker B: Why not? [00:25:32] Speaker D: I could take a little piggy Pikkerson. All right, so, ooh's gonna walk up to the door and just take a little peeky poo in. [00:25:39] Speaker C: I will join the rest of the group because I'm, like, still on the other side of the room. [00:25:42] Speaker A: This office is a shambles, with paper strewn about haphazardly. A trapdoor in the ceiling has a folding staircase descending from it, but several steps on the ladder are broken and stained with blood. [00:25:55] Speaker D: Y'all. What this mysterious voice in my head said? [00:25:59] Speaker F: Mm hmm. [00:26:02] Speaker C: Jasper has turned back into a bird to further enjoy some eyeballs. So I'm gonna send him flying up to peek into the attic or whatever this room is. [00:26:11] Speaker A: Okay. [00:26:12] Speaker B: When Brianna is done, she'll kind of look around for knife, sword. [00:26:16] Speaker A: Yes. [00:26:17] Speaker B: See what he wanted. [00:26:18] Speaker A: You see the one I'm doing next? Top of his onesie behind the coffee bar. [00:26:23] Speaker B: Yes, my friend. What did you need? [00:26:25] Speaker F: Just turn around for a second and, like, get, you know, like, just sort of lean down. Try to fit something. [00:26:31] Speaker B: Briana will narrow her eyes at him and fold her arms across her chest and look down at him. [00:26:38] Speaker F: I'm not paying attention when you do that. I just, like, pull this coffee machine out. [00:26:44] Speaker B: No, we are not taking that. We know. Put it back. No, listen. Knife, sword. That is not our property. Firstly. And secondly. No, you're not making coffee in my backpack. Put it back. [00:27:05] Speaker F: Reluctantly push it back on the shelf, and then, like, sort of saunter off my head. Down. [00:27:12] Speaker B: Briana will take a mental note to get him one of his own. The next time we're somewhere, she can purchase one. [00:27:22] Speaker A: Christine, you send Jasper up the ladder. [00:27:25] Speaker C: What are those? [00:27:27] Speaker A: Well, that's what. Oh, you can see through his eyes, can't you? [00:27:33] Speaker C: Actually, no, I don't have the warg ability, but, like, he can definitely, like, hop up there and then come back. He has speech. You can, like, tell us what he sees. [00:27:40] Speaker A: Is he. Is he in elf form, or did he change back to his bird? [00:27:43] Speaker C: No, he's back. He's a bird form. He's, like, okay. Flapped his way up the stairs to see what's going on. [00:27:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:27:50] Speaker C: He wanted to partake of some eyeballs, and beaks are better than thumbs for that. [00:27:54] Speaker A: I'll take your word on that one. [00:27:59] Speaker C: We haven't met. Like, she's been working with him on a lot, but we haven't quite mastered the knife and fork, much less eating with hands. [00:28:06] Speaker B: I mean, it's hard, for sure. [00:28:09] Speaker C: I'm zoomed out. Oh, no. And from zoomed in, they look like tiger people. Like, really buff tiger people. [00:28:15] Speaker E: Oh, like rokshasas, perhaps? Look at their hands. Are they backwards? [00:28:19] Speaker C: I can only see, like, a bust, basically. So they look very broad shouldered with tiger heads. [00:28:26] Speaker A: Matt, you're absolutely right. They. [00:28:28] Speaker C: Rakshasa. I don't even know. I mean, Jasper can attempt a knowledge check and see if he recognizes that. [00:28:35] Speaker A: He absolutely can. [00:28:36] Speaker C: He's got the stats for it. There we go. Skills. What. What would it be? [00:28:42] Speaker A: Religion? [00:28:43] Speaker C: Oh, he's actually. He's got a plus eleven to religion. All right. All right, buddy. [00:28:46] Speaker E: It's like a natural one. [00:28:48] Speaker A: Oh, would you like to use a hero point? [00:28:51] Speaker B: Yes. [00:28:53] Speaker F: It. [00:28:53] Speaker C: Like, it was on a twelve, and then, like, it took it a second to load, and then it was on a one, and I was so sad. All right, a 15. [00:29:01] Speaker A: Um, not enough to know exactly what these are. Okay. But he does know that they are tiger looking people, and. [00:29:08] Speaker C: But that's all he sees. There's just the two of them and the furniture. [00:29:11] Speaker A: Yep. Their hands do look weird, though. But he doesn't know exactly why they look weird. [00:29:16] Speaker C: Yeah, because he's used to his own weird little hands. [00:29:21] Speaker A: And he comes back down. [00:29:23] Speaker C: Yeah, he would definitely, like, hop, like, flap up to, like, the broken stair. Hop up. The last couple, take a peek and come back down. Just kind of be like tiger people. [00:29:33] Speaker A: Okay, cool. [00:29:34] Speaker C: Weird. [00:29:35] Speaker A: Hiya. What are you doing? After you, actually, you and knife sword are discussing the ideal with coffee makers. Twintalon, what are you doing? You're down by another door. [00:29:47] Speaker E: Yeah. I'd like to check out the other door on the eastern wall. [00:29:50] Speaker A: Okay. It doesn't look like it's locked. [00:29:52] Speaker E: All right. So Twintellen will cautiously open it. [00:29:55] Speaker A: This looks like a pantry. This seems to have recent been looted. Many of the food stuff here have been opened or spilled. Give me a. Actually, I'll roll it for you. A secret roll. Love it. Love the secret rolls. Isn't it one of the best things, guys? [00:30:12] Speaker E: Yeah. Cause we trust you and it's fine. [00:30:15] Speaker D: Wow. [00:30:16] Speaker A: Even with that terrible roll, Matt, you notice that there's another trap door in this room. [00:30:21] Speaker E: Does it look like it's hidden? Cause on the map it's just there. [00:30:24] Speaker A: It does look like it's hidden. It doesn't look like it's been disturbed either. [00:30:28] Speaker E: Okay. [00:30:29] Speaker A: Like, in the ramshackle. Like, you kind of have to, like, you're like, is that an outline of a door? And then because you're so, so good at seeing things, managed to kick some of the debris off of it. And it looks like a. [00:30:41] Speaker E: Right. I would like to check it for traps. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Okay. I will roll thievery for you. See? All right. Looks good to you. [00:30:49] Speaker E: All right. Then Twintellen will open the trapdoor. [00:30:53] Speaker A: This trapdoor heads down. It looks like it heads underground. [00:30:57] Speaker E: Like, far underground. [00:30:59] Speaker A: Yeah, it is definitely. Like, it dips down and you see it kind of turn into, like a root cellar. And then you just see that it, like, as you're looking down there, you see that it branches off and continues to the east for at least 20ft. Okay, maybe further. I mean, it continues further. [00:31:19] Speaker E: Okay. And twin Talon will pull his head back out. I think it's just kind of dipping his head down. Looking around. [00:31:24] Speaker A: You have those goggles of the night, right? [00:31:26] Speaker E: Yeah, they're always on. So, yeah, twin tunnel's not gonna go off on adventure by himself. So he'll come back to the rest of the group and he'll be like, hey, there's a trapdoor that was hidden in here. I don't think whoever attacked this place. Found it. It looks like it goes to an underground tunnel of some sort. I don't know where it goes. [00:31:44] Speaker C: Jasper says that upstairs there, through this other door that there's a group of tiger people and another room with. With more doors upstairs. [00:31:55] Speaker B: Tiger people. [00:31:56] Speaker D: Do you think the Tiger King lives up there? [00:31:58] Speaker E: He might. [00:32:00] Speaker B: Oh, no. I'm confused as to who that would be, but perhaps we can work our way up, or rather down to up. I don't know. What do you think, friends? [00:32:12] Speaker E: Well, I think this floor has been. We've taken a look around the floor. Right, Sean? Like, there's nothing else here that we haven't found. [00:32:17] Speaker A: Yeah, no, there's nothing. Nothing else of note that you've discovered. [00:32:21] Speaker E: And looking at the map, I see the southern door. Looks like it just leads outside. [00:32:24] Speaker A: Yeah, it looks like a back entrance. You would probably figure this is where, like, they go to take all the coffee grounds for the end of the day and, like, the trash goes out back here. [00:32:35] Speaker E: Got it. [00:32:36] Speaker C: Well, it seems like upstairs is a finite space. Anything downstairs tunnels could go anywhere. Do we want to clear out whatever these tiger folk are first? [00:32:44] Speaker B: Might. This way? [00:32:45] Speaker E: Yeah, I would recommend going upstairs just because if this tunnel looks like it leads off site, almost like if it goes 20ft to the east, that's actually off the map. [00:32:53] Speaker C: Exactly. [00:32:54] Speaker E: Well, I mean, the map has a lot of black space on the side, but I can't tell. It looks like it's out of the building. [00:32:59] Speaker A: So it definitely goes out of the building? Yeah. [00:33:04] Speaker E: So, yeah, I think that probably goes to another location. So I would clear upstairs first and then we could follow the tunnel, see where it goes. [00:33:11] Speaker C: What did it look like they were doing? Are they just like, standing around? Are they asleep upstairs? What's happening there? [00:33:17] Speaker A: Two overstuffed sofas sit facing each other in this room, while a round table with a few stools near sits nearby, opposite. The spicy scent of coffee and tea lingers in the air. Doors provide exits to the east, west and south. And a trapdoor in the floor sits to the north, which is what you saw. So you saw them sitting in these, like, overstuffed couches in the big comfy chairs and you actually see on the Jasper kind of quickly saw on the table a bunch of cups and saucers. [00:33:56] Speaker C: It seems really weird that they didn't hear anything that was just happening. [00:34:00] Speaker E: The bells? [00:34:01] Speaker C: Yeah, between the bells. Like either they were anticipating a fight or something is keeping them unaware of what's happening downstairs. [00:34:08] Speaker D: I could go up and say hello. [00:34:10] Speaker C: Yeah, you could try. [00:34:12] Speaker A: All right. [00:34:13] Speaker D: I think ooh. Will walk up the ladder. [00:34:15] Speaker C: Oh, dear. [00:34:16] Speaker A: Who else is going up? Is it just oo or I'll go. [00:34:20] Speaker C: Because I'm sure Jasper's curious. [00:34:23] Speaker E: I'll go behind Brianna. [00:34:25] Speaker A: Yep. All right, so, Brianna, you go upstairs. Whoop. Yes. And then twin Talon and Saraya, knife, sword. [00:34:34] Speaker F: I'll go up. [00:34:35] Speaker A: So you all pop up there. Oh, sorry, Jasper, I forgot to take you up there. What? Okay, so you guys come up the stairs and you see these two creatures, tiger people, sitting there, and they're speaking in a language. And I'm just going to type something real quick, and if anyone can read that, let me know. [00:35:00] Speaker E: I can. [00:35:01] Speaker A: You can? [00:35:02] Speaker D: I can. [00:35:02] Speaker A: Great. [00:35:03] Speaker E: It says, who can read this? [00:35:04] Speaker A: Yes, it does. All right, so you see them speaking in infernal. You two of you. And you hear them. One of them say to the other one, well, I think this tea is much better than the coffee that they had. [00:35:20] Speaker B: My people. [00:35:20] Speaker A: You hear the other one? No, no, no. This coffee was mixed way better. The slow drip process just allowed the flavors to grow much more. And then they turn around as you guys all come up. Oh. Oh, good saviors. Thank goodness you're here. [00:35:38] Speaker E: Can I sense motive? [00:35:39] Speaker D: Uh huh. [00:35:40] Speaker B: Is that uncommon? [00:35:42] Speaker A: Okay, so hang on. Yes, that is in common. When you hear them say saviors, we're so glad you're here. You hear that in common? Okay, sense motive. Me, twintalon, go ahead and roll a. Roll a perception question mark. Okay, I think that's what it is. [00:36:02] Speaker E: It is? Yeah. [00:36:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. [00:36:04] Speaker C: Is it better? [00:36:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:05] Speaker E: 35. [00:36:07] Speaker A: 35. And that would be against deception? [00:36:12] Speaker E: If they're lying or trying to conceal something. [00:36:14] Speaker A: What did you get? 35. [00:36:16] Speaker E: Yes. [00:36:17] Speaker A: Something's not sitting right with you. There's something about up. [00:36:21] Speaker E: Okay. Twintelle will say, well, what happened? We went downstairs, and it was all a shambles. [00:36:32] Speaker A: Yes. I can't. I don't know what exactly would happen, but there were these weird creatures in strapped clothes. Like their clothes were made of just straps and chains. And there was this one very pale man with them speaking in a weird accent. I want to say they were speaking in Nata dollies. I'm not sure, but, uh, this agent came in with these weird demons, and they started attacking the coffee house and abducting the staff. [00:37:13] Speaker E: Oh. So how did you. How did you escape? [00:37:16] Speaker A: Oh, we ran. As soon as the commotion downstairs started, we ran up the ladder here and. And hid in this room. [00:37:24] Speaker C: I am schooled in secrets, and I can recognize the signs that secret societies use to interact with each other. Are they giving off any or wearing any kind of symbols that they belong to the scarlet triad? [00:37:38] Speaker A: That is a good question. Let me get back to you on that. [00:37:44] Speaker C: Cool. [00:37:45] Speaker A: Matt, does anyone else have any other questions to ask them? [00:37:49] Speaker D: Are y'all in a committed relationship? [00:37:54] Speaker A: I'm sorry, this is not my partner. Uh, yes. Uh, are you saying that all of us look the same? No. No. [00:38:02] Speaker E: What? [00:38:03] Speaker D: I'm just saying you're my type. So if I could buy you a drink downstairs, that'd be real nice. [00:38:09] Speaker A: Oh, I don't know if we have time for that with all this commotion here. Shouldn't you go get the guards or something? [00:38:16] Speaker E: Well, that brings a good question. You don't have time, but you have time to sit here and drink tea and coffee? [00:38:22] Speaker A: We were hiding and, well, if there were some luxurious items around, yes, if there were some luxurious items around, why wouldn't we drink the tea while contemplating our potential death instead of, as you. [00:38:37] Speaker B: Just suggested to us, get the guard? [00:38:39] Speaker A: Perhaps we ran up here, we couldn't get back downstairs. We thought we had the trapdoor very well locked and watching it, but apparently we were wrong. [00:38:51] Speaker D: Do we notice if there's any blood on them? Because there was blood on the broken ladder to get upstairs? [00:38:57] Speaker A: Ooh, that is a really good question. I really appreciate that. We're going to make a quick secret roll here. No, you notice that their clothes are pristine. [00:39:14] Speaker E: Are you. Are you familiar with the tale of Eenie? [00:39:18] Speaker A: No. [00:39:19] Speaker E: It was three brothers, Eenie, Meenie and Minimo. They caught a tiger by the toe. Now, if it hollered, they'd let it go. Eenie, Meenie and minemo. And with that, twintal is just gonna stab them like immediately. Just try to attack the one right, like right in front of him. [00:39:40] Speaker B: What? [00:39:41] Speaker A: Okay, give me 1 second. [00:39:44] Speaker C: That's amazing. [00:39:46] Speaker A: I think Christine can read that. [00:39:48] Speaker C: Yes. [00:39:49] Speaker A: Great. [00:39:51] Speaker C: With the message I just got, I fully support Twintellon in this action. [00:39:54] Speaker A: They're just sitting here not expecting you to attack them. Matt, I'm going to let you make an attack roll against one of them, okay? Just before initiative even goes. So go ahead and make an attack roll on one of them. [00:40:07] Speaker E: That is a 27 and they're flat footed to you. [00:40:11] Speaker A: Ooh, 27. Oh, well, I'll tell you what happens next week. What? And then we'll go from there. [00:40:23] Speaker B: I'll think of more things to ask, I guess. [00:40:26] Speaker D: Well, they probably gonna be dead. It's all right.
