[00:00:40] Speaker A: Hi guys, and welcome back to The Crackdye podcast. This is Christine, I play Saraya and Jasper and I am here before we start to pick up on a segment Sean started a couple of weeks ago with some of the changes between Pathfinder First Edition and Second Edition and how the rules work. Now, before I get into that, I do want to thank everybody again for downloading, listening, rating, reviewing. We really appreciate it and I mean we're doing this for you guys. So thanks for tuning in every week. So what I want to talk about today is the action economy of the game. Now, this is one of my favorite changes from first edition to second edition. So it used to be that you had a standard action and a move action, and then you had a couple other things like swift actions, free actions, et cetera, et cetera. But with Pathfinder Second Edition, you've got a little bit more freedom going on. So everyone has three actions per turn to do whatever they'd like. So this lets you do things like run in, attack and move back away. It lets you try to figure out what the creature in front of you is and then you can attack it twice. You can attack it three times in a row if you can. It's a really streamlined version of their combat system in what we now call encounter mode, and it makes everything move a lot smoother in the game. There's a couple things that are a little funky with the three actions. Things like spells might take two or three actions and you can do a couple of things like command familiars like you've seen Saray do a couple times. But for the most part, it's a super streamlined, super simple system. And like I said, it's one of my favorite changes from first to second. So you'll be noticing that a lot more. We're about to head into a whole bunch of combats in these next coming episodes and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do. I'll throw you back to the table now and I'll catch you on the other side. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Welcome to the 8th episode of the Crackdive podcast. [00:02:23] Speaker A: Holy crap. [00:02:24] Speaker C: We've been doing this for eight weeks. [00:02:27] Speaker B: Well, no, because if we did three at the beginning and then think of. [00:02:32] Speaker D: All of the garbage we threw away that we didn't let anybody listen to. [00:02:36] Speaker E: All of our bullshitting, that's like another. [00:02:37] Speaker B: 13 weeks of yeah, eight episodes we. [00:02:41] Speaker D: Threw in the garbage. [00:02:42] Speaker B: Yeah, that was like twelve. We're like a year. Like we've been planning and doing this. [00:02:47] Speaker E: For about a year now and we're still only this good. [00:02:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:50] Speaker E: Imagine how good we're going to be in a year. [00:02:52] Speaker D: I was going to say imagine how bad it was to start off with. [00:02:54] Speaker E: Yeah, that's true. [00:02:55] Speaker B: And we're only eight episodes in. [00:02:56] Speaker D: But I want to say I'm very proud of us. Having listened to the last three episodes. And I'm assuming this one's going to be great, too. Compared to the first four night and. [00:03:07] Speaker B: Day, our sound quality, we're only getting better. [00:03:10] Speaker D: We figured it out. We know about microphone eating. And how that's bad? [00:03:15] Speaker B: I still enjoy eating microphones. Okay. [00:03:17] Speaker E: Do that on your own time. [00:03:19] Speaker F: Thank you, Matt. I think we have made good strives. [00:03:22] Speaker B: But I do want to make an announcement. We are going to do a book giveaway. [00:03:29] Speaker E: I get a book. Thank you. I use it to prop up my seat in my car because I'm short. [00:03:38] Speaker B: We are going to give away a Pathfinder second edition core rulebook to someone listening, hopefully listening right now. No, not right now. [00:03:48] Speaker E: It's at your doorstep right now. Go look. [00:03:50] Speaker B: Yeah. What? [00:03:51] Speaker F: Are you listening right now? [00:03:52] Speaker B: No. So what we're going to do is once we get 25 reviews on the Apple podcasts app, we will put all of those usernames into a hat and we will draw one. We'll figure out how to do it live ish record it and post it somewhere. And then we will reach out to that person somehow through the magic of the interwebs and send them a core rulebook for the Pathfinder second edition. That way they can read along and see what we're messing up. [00:04:27] Speaker G: Previously on The Crackdye podcast, our heroes encounter the villain Calmot. After disarming Kalmot, our heroes interrogate him. They learn that Kalmot set the fire in order to escape from being under Vase's thumb. Also, he wanted to sell the location of Estella's ring to anyone who would buy it. After incapacitating Kalmot and leaving him with the goblins, our heroes decide to investigate the rest of the citadel. What dangers lie in the citadel? What will our heroes find? Find out now on the Cracked Die podcast. [00:05:07] Speaker A: So, spiders. [00:05:08] Speaker E: Yeah, spiders. [00:05:09] Speaker B: They're a thing. [00:05:10] Speaker E: Yeah. I'm not an arachnophobe, but my wife is. So if she's listening, one, I love you, sweetheart. Two, don't listen anymore. For like, the next half hour, just stop listening. [00:05:21] Speaker F: I'm not an arachnophobe, but I was annoyed in Skyrim that there were so many random spider encounters that's like all there were. And then I'd open a door and a giant spider would chase me. [00:05:30] Speaker E: Well, that's why you should stealth. Because stealth plus a bow in really any elder scroll games since Oblivion is just really powerful. [00:05:40] Speaker B: All right, Perception, for your initiative role. [00:05:43] Speaker E: We'Re nerds talking about video games. All right. [00:05:45] Speaker B: The hell? Yeah. Excuse me. We have an even better thing to do. All right, let's go around the table. Silver, what did you get? [00:05:53] Speaker F: So I was doing perception. [00:05:54] Speaker B: 1616 Talon. [00:05:57] Speaker D: So my diet is currently on a 20. I placed it like that. That was not what I rolled, but I got the exact same as Silver. [00:06:05] Speaker B: So who wants to go first? [00:06:07] Speaker E: Because you guys can decide who can do more damage. [00:06:10] Speaker D: Well, I'm in the room. [00:06:11] Speaker F: Yeah, I'll probably go after him. [00:06:13] Speaker B: All right. Pond of Vatchar 23. 23. Soraya twelve. Brianna 22. All right. And Temid 14. [00:06:23] Speaker E: The last thing I'm ever going to do. [00:06:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:26] Speaker E: Oh God, I'm actually going to die now that I said that. Yeah, it's like foreshadowing in a TV show. Don't worry, I always come back. [00:06:32] Speaker B: Guys, why is he suddenly wearing a red? No, pond watcher, you go first. [00:06:39] Speaker H: So presumably I hear my friend yell out in terror as his body is enveloped by a swarm of spiders. [00:06:45] Speaker E: This is approximately what you hear. [00:06:48] Speaker H: Like a baby crying, pond watcher sprints into action using his sudden charge ability like every other time to move twice. [00:06:57] Speaker B: Okay, an attack once you get in there. Yes. You see a second swarm of spiders crawling from the eastern side of the room. Large red fat spiders swarming. [00:07:11] Speaker H: So pound watcher sees that his friends seem to be in a good position to deal with the first swarm and he runs past them, jumping like over the hood of a camaro across this table, landing next to the second. [00:07:25] Speaker B: Splinter, splinter, splinter, splinter. It's old wood. [00:07:28] Speaker H: Oh, owe feels bad. And he will swing his bastard sword. There it is. Finally caught up with me. Ten miss. Oh boy. And with his third action he will try it again with the produce flame cantrift. He lights his hand up his offhand and tries to punch the swarm. [00:07:48] Speaker B: So you're at a minus five. [00:07:49] Speaker E: Burn it with fire. [00:07:50] Speaker H: Natural 20. [00:07:53] Speaker E: You just saved my life. Thank you. [00:07:54] Speaker B: So that is a total of 21. That's a crit. [00:07:57] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:07:59] Speaker B: Draw the card. [00:08:00] Speaker E: Do it. [00:08:01] Speaker B: And is this a magic spell? Okay, so on the bottom of these. [00:08:06] Speaker D: Beautiful crit cards as opposed to other. [00:08:08] Speaker B: Well, it could be bludgeoning if it's a punch. [00:08:10] Speaker H: Maximum effect. Don't roll for damage. You deal the maximum possible critical hit damage with this attack, which means that he does ten fire damage to this swarm. [00:08:25] Speaker E: Do you get any damage from the punch or is it just from the produced flame? [00:08:28] Speaker H: And it's fire damage, fire damage and persistent fire damage. So four persistent fire damage every round. So good as he touches the flames to the swarm. [00:08:41] Speaker B: All right, so the swarm is still there but not happy about it. [00:08:48] Speaker F: I think we might be in okay shape. [00:08:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:50] Speaker D: Famous last word. [00:08:51] Speaker B: Yes. Well now it's the swarm's turn and it's the swarm near Pond watcher. So the way swarms work in this game is very similar to first edition. They move into your square and then they do swarming bite as their second action. [00:09:04] Speaker D: So swarms are large or these swarms are large. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Yes, these swarms are large, which means any creature in the same squares as the swarm are going to take the damage. [00:09:15] Speaker D: It looks like both. [00:09:16] Speaker B: So both Temid and pond watcher are taking damage and you just take a straight D. Four damage. So you're taking two ouch piercing damage if it matters to you. But then you both need to make a reflex save. Please. [00:09:32] Speaker E: I choose not. Okay, good. [00:09:34] Speaker B: Great. [00:09:35] Speaker D: Fail. [00:09:36] Speaker H: Natural 20. [00:09:38] Speaker E: All right, you said reflex, correct? [00:09:40] Speaker B: Yes. Please. No. Yes. Reflex. [00:09:42] Speaker D: That is a natural 13. [00:09:44] Speaker E: All right, so I have a 19 total. 25. [00:09:47] Speaker B: You're both fine. Last action heroes. They're going to bite you again. Swarm on you again for another three points and another reflex. [00:09:56] Speaker E: Say 15 total. I mean, sorry. 18 total. [00:09:58] Speaker B: You're good. [00:09:59] Speaker H: 14 total. [00:10:00] Speaker A: Sounds so happy that you're good. [00:10:02] Speaker E: Why'd you make that face? [00:10:04] Speaker B: Brianna? [00:10:05] Speaker C: Just to confirm, the swarm that was attacking Temit is now as well on pond watcher. [00:10:13] Speaker B: Yes. They're both being covered by these red fat spiders. And there's another swarm coming from your east towards you. Yes. [00:10:22] Speaker C: How about I do something I've never done before and I will likely need help figuring out? How about we do a shield bash? Oh, can I shield bash a swarm? Is that a thing? [00:10:32] Speaker B: Yeah, you make a basic attack. [00:10:35] Speaker C: Sweet. All right, I think I missed. With a 17, it would be a hit. Yeah, that hit cool for eight damage. [00:10:45] Speaker B: Eight damage. All right, it hits it. [00:10:48] Speaker C: I'll do it. [00:10:48] Speaker B: Which swarm are you going for? The ones that are covering your friends or the one coming from your east? [00:10:53] Speaker C: I feel like she started moving towards her friends, and the minute she sees the swarm coming towards her, she'll try and deflect against that one. And we'll go again with her scimitar. Since it's a second attack, it'll take minus five. [00:11:07] Speaker B: Minus five. Got it. [00:11:08] Speaker C: That will be eight. [00:11:10] Speaker B: Eight. What type? Slashing. [00:11:11] Speaker C: Slashing. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Yes. All right. And your third action? [00:11:15] Speaker C: I will slash again. [00:11:17] Speaker B: 15 will hit. [00:11:19] Speaker C: Excellent. [00:11:20] Speaker B: Wow. [00:11:21] Speaker D: Well, 21 was a crit. [00:11:22] Speaker C: Yeah, for six. [00:11:24] Speaker B: You said six total. Six total. All right, twin talon, you're up next. [00:11:28] Speaker D: Okay, so looking at Brianna attacking the swarm, does it look like her scimitar was doing anything? [00:11:34] Speaker B: Yes. Okay, but not nearly as effective as using her shield to squish a bunch of them. [00:11:39] Speaker D: Okay, I'm going to take an experimental shot with my new magical bow. [00:11:44] Speaker B: Okay? [00:11:45] Speaker D: I believe so. A plus one weapon gives me plus one to attack. So normally, it would be a plus seven. So it'll be a plus eight. [00:11:55] Speaker B: So that's 26 that will hit. [00:11:58] Speaker D: Is it ten more than their AC? [00:11:59] Speaker B: It is not ten more than their AC. [00:12:01] Speaker D: I would like to call Shenanigans on that, but that's fine. [00:12:03] Speaker B: Shenanigans has been called. I am reviewing your Shenanigans call, and it is true. It is Shenanigans, but I did not lie to you. [00:12:11] Speaker D: Okay, all right. [00:12:13] Speaker B: The shenanigate is over. [00:12:17] Speaker D: And magic weapons are different for damage than they were in first edition. So it used to be that you got plus one damage. [00:12:24] Speaker B: Correct. [00:12:24] Speaker D: Now that you get plus one, die of damage. [00:12:28] Speaker B: Wow. Okay, that makes them a lot cooler. [00:12:30] Speaker E: Yes, I want a magic weapon now. [00:12:34] Speaker B: Save up those silver pieces. So that makes them a lot cooler than previously, a lot more deadly. [00:12:40] Speaker D: But if I'm correct, even though I'm going before them in the initiative, it probably will not take my sneak attack damage. [00:12:48] Speaker B: Well, you can try. [00:12:50] Speaker D: Well, I'm about to roll damage dice. Sean, tell me, should I roll? [00:12:53] Speaker B: No, don't roll. Precision damage. Please don't. [00:12:56] Speaker D: All right, so that's seven damage with the magic arrow, which is piercing. Piercing at damage. [00:13:04] Speaker B: Yes. Okay. [00:13:06] Speaker D: Did it look like they took any of it? [00:13:08] Speaker B: Yes. [00:13:08] Speaker D: Okay, then I will continue firing 13. [00:13:12] Speaker B: To hit Miss Funk. [00:13:15] Speaker D: They are flat footed. Unless they can't be flat footed, it's a miss still. [00:13:21] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. [00:13:22] Speaker D: And with my last one, with my last action, I am going to back out of the room. Okay, 20. I'll get behind SurreyA. [00:13:33] Speaker B: They're swarms. [00:13:34] Speaker D: We need fire. [00:13:35] Speaker B: Next up is the second set of spiders. So they are going to swarm for the first action, 5ft Westerly and they're going to try and cover as many people as possible. Can they get three? [00:13:48] Speaker D: I think they can get two. They can either get the two which are already covered or brianna. [00:13:53] Speaker B: All right, so the two that are already covered, you're going to take second action. You're taking a D four. So you're taking four points of damage. [00:14:00] Speaker H: Oh, jeez. [00:14:01] Speaker B: And then I also need reflex save. [00:14:04] Speaker A: Oh, good grief. [00:14:05] Speaker D: Have you guys thought of the name of your goblin heroes? [00:14:08] Speaker B: 1720 3rd action is they're going to bite you again for two points of damage. [00:14:14] Speaker E: I'm down to three points. [00:14:17] Speaker D: Physician, heal thyself. [00:14:19] Speaker B: Yes. And then also another reflex, please. [00:14:22] Speaker E: These numbers keep getting lower. 14. [00:14:25] Speaker B: 814 is fine, eight is not. Yes. [00:14:32] Speaker E: Can you describe to us exactly what's going on as these swarms are engulfing us? Are they little? Like, are we surrounded by a cloud of spiders? [00:14:41] Speaker B: No. So these are fat red spiders that are how big? They're probably about the size of a hockey puck. Yeah, hockey puck size. I was trying to think of, like, those Hostess Cupcakes because they're about that thick, too. [00:15:02] Speaker E: So basically there's a lot of scary Hostess Cupcakes. [00:15:04] Speaker B: A lot of scary Hostess Cupcakes are crawling all over you and biting every part of your flesh. [00:15:10] Speaker E: So, like, all of our arms, arms and legs, limbs are covered on our necks. [00:15:14] Speaker B: They're kind of in your armor. [00:15:16] Speaker E: Fight off. [00:15:17] Speaker B: They're in your armor. So unfortunately for Pond Watcher, you start. [00:15:22] Speaker D: To feel so I got a question very quickly. [00:15:25] Speaker E: Yes. [00:15:25] Speaker D: Did we skip silver? [00:15:27] Speaker B: No. [00:15:28] Speaker D: Yeah, he'd be because he and I have the same initiative. [00:15:30] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. [00:15:32] Speaker F: All right, I can go after you adjudicate this. So yeah, I will. First action inspire everyone so they get a plus one circumstantial bonus to damage attack rolls and saves against fear effects. And then with my other two actions, I am going to I'm worried for my liege over there, so I am going to move up towards Sarah and Ray. [00:16:01] Speaker E: If Sarah and Ray was here, we wouldn't have any problem. [00:16:03] Speaker F: We wouldn't have a problem with Spike. I'm going to move next to our champion, Brienne, and I'm going to hold off. That'll be my turn right there. [00:16:15] Speaker B: Okay, so the spiders still do the same things. You feel poison coursing through your veins, so please take the status. Poisoned one. And you know what? I'm feeling really generous about this enfeebled one. [00:16:30] Speaker E: I'm not sure you understand what the word generous means. [00:16:34] Speaker D: Poisoned one. [00:16:35] Speaker B: Yes. [00:16:36] Speaker D: That is not in the cards. [00:16:38] Speaker B: Oh, one poison. [00:16:40] Speaker A: So you take yeah, one poison damage. [00:16:41] Speaker B: One poison damage. Sorry. You take one poison damage and you are in feebled one. Not looking so good, Temid. Okay. [00:16:49] Speaker E: Bad, right? [00:16:51] Speaker B: They're all over you. [00:16:52] Speaker E: Yeah. So Temid touches his armor around where he has the little symbol of a tankard on him, all right? And he says, let my rapier strike true. And then he casts magic weapon on himself. So now he's got a plus one. [00:17:10] Speaker B: Rapier show off for a whole minute, too, all right. [00:17:14] Speaker E: And then he's going to swing at these motherfuckers. [00:17:17] Speaker B: All right, let's see if you can hit them. [00:17:18] Speaker E: Let's see. So the one which is more to the west? [00:17:22] Speaker B: West. [00:17:23] Speaker E: The one that's more to the west is that one that's more damaged. [00:17:26] Speaker H: Probably it's on fire. [00:17:28] Speaker E: That's the one that's on fire. So he's going to try to eliminate that one first. [00:17:32] Speaker B: Got you. [00:17:32] Speaker E: So I'm going to roll with a plus eight here. [00:17:36] Speaker D: Oh, nice. [00:17:36] Speaker E: So that is a 27 than that 20. No, it's a 19. [00:17:42] Speaker C: Oh, jeez. [00:17:42] Speaker B: Nice. 27. Yeah. [00:17:44] Speaker E: That's a crit, right? Yeah. Oh, yeah. [00:17:49] Speaker B: Okay, well, hold on. You got a card. [00:17:51] Speaker E: What type of damage is it is a piercing. So stinger, normal damage. The target is sick. And three, I choose not to take that. [00:17:59] Speaker B: Okay, so you're going to double damage. [00:18:00] Speaker E: So now that it's magic, it's going to do four D six plus two, plus 1D. [00:18:08] Speaker B: You roll it and then you just double it. Okay, so it's two D six plus one plus one times two. Then you multiply those results. So let's do that. Two D. Six plus one. What do you get? [00:18:18] Speaker E: Five six. [00:18:20] Speaker B: So that's 1212 points plus a because the weapon is deadly. [00:18:25] Speaker E: It's a fucking one. [00:18:26] Speaker H: Plus a d six because it's magic. [00:18:27] Speaker D: He did that. [00:18:28] Speaker B: He did that already. So that's a total of seven. [00:18:31] Speaker E: No, five, six. So it's 5612 1313. [00:18:37] Speaker B: That's a big difference. [00:18:38] Speaker D: Plus two from the bard. [00:18:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:40] Speaker E: No, so that was actually part of plus one. I don't have any modifier. [00:18:44] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm sorry. [00:18:45] Speaker F: Oh, okay. [00:18:45] Speaker B: Then that first swarm is dead. [00:18:48] Speaker E: Well done. Thrusts his actually, no, he almost swipes across thematically because obviously it's a piercing weapon, so he's not going to do any slashing damage. But he kind of swipes across and you see the light kind of follow his weapon and streak across, and he just kind of slashes through all of them and they all just fall dead at his feet. A little bit of guts on him, but he doesn't really care. So then he turns around and then he puts his hand on Pond watcher and he says, thank you, and then he kind of, like, puts his hand on his chest. Really? And I'm going to use that as a way for a single action medicine check for treat poison. So hopefully, if I succeed, you'll get a plus two on your Role. [00:19:31] Speaker B: This DC is, I believe it's 15. [00:19:34] Speaker E: But I'm going to take a look real quick. But I got a natural 19. [00:19:37] Speaker B: Okay. So, yeah, you're probably good. [00:19:38] Speaker E: So we'll say that oh, actually, it's against the poisons DC, so you're good. 25 against whatever that you're good. Is that a critical? Because then he gets a plus four. [00:19:48] Speaker B: You get a plus four. [00:19:49] Speaker E: All right, on your next check. [00:19:50] Speaker C: Well done. [00:19:51] Speaker B: Thanks. Is that all your actions? [00:19:54] Speaker E: That's all three. [00:19:55] Speaker B: All right. [00:19:55] Speaker E: Actually, hold on, hold on. I might not be able to do that. Magic weapon. Is it's two? I'm sorry, I can't give you the plus. [00:20:03] Speaker B: You get plus zero. [00:20:06] Speaker E: I'm sorry. [00:20:06] Speaker B: It is your turn. [00:20:07] Speaker A: So if we're saying that these spiders. [00:20:09] Speaker B: Are the size of Hostess cupcake cupcake with eight legs. [00:20:12] Speaker A: With eight legs. I feel like every one of my turns starts with a qualifier. Would caltrops do anything to them? Are they large enough to be injured by caltrops? [00:20:24] Speaker B: No. Okay. [00:20:24] Speaker A: And I will use my last batch of infused reagents. [00:20:28] Speaker B: Okay. [00:20:30] Speaker A: I don't like not having them, but I can use my sling against things that it'll work better against than swarms. Going to get another Alchemist fire going. [00:20:37] Speaker B: Okay. That's your first action. [00:20:39] Speaker A: I forget, is there, like, cover rules. [00:20:41] Speaker B: For trying to yeah, they get plus two to their AC. [00:20:43] Speaker A: At this point, there's no guarding through anybody anyway, so we'll give it a shot. It's plus one two attack from the inspiration. [00:20:50] Speaker B: Yes. [00:20:50] Speaker A: 20 unnatural total. [00:20:52] Speaker C: Yes, 20 total. [00:20:53] Speaker B: You hit. And now we see what the Alchemist does to a swarm. [00:20:59] Speaker A: It's 1D gate. [00:21:00] Speaker F: The swarm currently swarming somebody. [00:21:02] Speaker B: Yes. They're going to that's right? They are. Yeah. [00:21:05] Speaker A: So it's going to be one D, eight plus one from but she can. [00:21:08] Speaker B: Control the splash from the damage. [00:21:10] Speaker A: So that is six regular damage. One splash, one persistent fire. [00:21:15] Speaker B: So you know what's really cool? It's fire, right? [00:21:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:19] Speaker B: It's area damage. Right? Yeah. Because it's it's splash. Splash damage. Right. [00:21:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:23] Speaker B: So how much did you do? [00:21:24] Speaker A: I did six plus one. [00:21:25] Speaker B: Plus one. You kill it, but you did twelve plus one, plus six persistent fire. Oh. [00:21:34] Speaker E: Because each time it takes fire damage. [00:21:37] Speaker B: It has a weakness to splash. [00:21:40] Speaker E: So what weakness means is that when an enemy takes the type of damage that is, or when anyone takes a type of damage that is weak to gets plus the damage is increased by five. [00:21:51] Speaker B: It can be increased by any number. [00:21:53] Speaker E: Right. [00:21:54] Speaker B: It gives in the description number. [00:21:56] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:21:56] Speaker B: Okay, so in this case it was five. [00:21:59] Speaker D: If you're looking at the staff block, it would say weakness five or weakness ten and that's how much it gets increased. [00:22:03] Speaker B: So Serea, you throw your Alchemical bomb, your Alchemist fire and it hits which. [00:22:08] Speaker A: She will never admit is Alchemist fire. [00:22:10] Speaker B: Yeah, it hits temid right in the chest where the second swarm was. But somehow you manage to controls every drop. Yeah, it just flows over and only hits the armor. Your armor gets a little warm, but all of the spiders that were crawling inside of it, you just hear hissing and popping as they just cook inside the armor and then they all fall out. [00:22:33] Speaker A: She flicks her hair over her shoulder, pets Jasper. [00:22:36] Speaker C: That was impressive. [00:22:37] Speaker F: Excuse me, are we out of combat? [00:22:39] Speaker B: Yes, combat is over. [00:22:40] Speaker H: That don't feel so good. [00:22:42] Speaker C: Come here. [00:22:46] Speaker A: This party's done. A lot of vomiting. [00:22:47] Speaker H: Pond watcher sits on the ground. [00:22:49] Speaker D: Everything sickens us. [00:22:50] Speaker H: He's poisoned and sickened and enfeebled and he sits on the floor. [00:22:55] Speaker F: So can our champion heal our barbarian friend? [00:22:58] Speaker C: I believe so. I'm not sure. [00:22:59] Speaker H: So wait, are you poisoned and enfeebled? [00:23:02] Speaker E: Okay, so he's going to head up to you and do what he was trying to do before. And we'll use that natural. [00:23:07] Speaker B: No we won't. No. [00:23:10] Speaker E: Well, we got the same exact result. [00:23:11] Speaker B: Okay, make the save. Go ahead and make the save because if you don't it can progress down the track. [00:23:18] Speaker H: And this is fortitude? [00:23:19] Speaker B: Yes. Plus 425 critical success. So you move up the track twice so you're fine. Yes. Feels good. [00:23:26] Speaker E: So he walks up to you and actually his way of treating you is he puts a hand basically on the back of your neck and he hands you a tanker to veil. He's like, drink up buddy, this will help. [00:23:37] Speaker B: Okay. [00:23:38] Speaker E: And then so you drink it and I'm sure it helps you for whatever reason, helps you heal a little bit more quickly. [00:23:46] Speaker H: You also seem like you are on death's door yourself. [00:23:49] Speaker E: Yes, but I want to make sure my friends and allies are healed first before I take care of myself. [00:23:54] Speaker D: So I don't know if poison and disease works the same way, but I remember when we had disease a couple of episodes ago, even though the disease itself was cured, the effects were not so poison. [00:24:04] Speaker B: The poison status, like he's not going to take the ongoing poison, but he is still enfeebled until since it's moved, he can't progress down the track anymore because he made the save until it runs its course, which is one round. [00:24:17] Speaker A: Have a duration. [00:24:18] Speaker B: Yeah. So these have a duration. [00:24:19] Speaker H: So his arm looks really small and then all of a sudden it swells with muscle. [00:24:24] Speaker E: He's so swole. Yeah, actually he flexes and you see the pop right out. [00:24:29] Speaker A: It does the cartoon. [00:24:30] Speaker B: The last spider pops off of his arm and falls to the ground. [00:24:34] Speaker E: Also, everybody, as far as health wise goes, how's everyone doing? [00:24:38] Speaker D: I'm at full. [00:24:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:41] Speaker F: And I still have one spell left. [00:24:42] Speaker H: I meant you're at eight points. [00:24:45] Speaker E: All right, so then he kind of starts patching up your wounds. [00:24:49] Speaker B: So you're going to take ten minutes to heal. [00:24:50] Speaker E: Are you going to treat then another ten minutes after that to heal myself. [00:24:53] Speaker B: Okay, so hang on. So while you're treating wounds on Pond watcher, what is Twin Talon doing in this room? [00:25:00] Speaker D: Now that we're pretty sure there aren't any more spiders, he's going to make a once over, make sure there's nothing else we've missed. [00:25:06] Speaker B: Okay. What does Brianna do? [00:25:07] Speaker C: Brianna will come to Tim and be like, do you need any help? Would you like me to tend to you? [00:25:14] Speaker E: He'll tell you, well, first I want to make sure that our good big buddy here is all right. And then maybe yes, then I'd like that. [00:25:23] Speaker C: I'm not as good a healer as you are, but I can tell. [00:25:25] Speaker E: Sure, you'll do fine. [00:25:26] Speaker C: All right. [00:25:26] Speaker B: It's a massage train. It is a massage train. All right, so Pond watcher is getting healed. What is Sorea doing? [00:25:36] Speaker A: I think she's just kind of hanging out. She might be poking around the room, but it's very small, and I think there's already three or four people in there. She's pretty sure Twin Talon's got it. So she's probably just kind of chilling back to fixing some of the smaller holes in her clothing. [00:25:52] Speaker B: Okay, Twin Talon, if you want to, go ahead and give me a roll. And those of you who are doing the treat wounds stuff, go ahead and make a treat wounds check. [00:25:59] Speaker D: So I got a 19. [00:26:01] Speaker B: So as you're searching around the kitchen area, you find something that might be of interest to one of your teammates here you find some herbs and oils just kind of lying around. [00:26:18] Speaker D: It's like bay leaves and olive oil. [00:26:20] Speaker B: No. Well, yes, because it's a kitchen, but yes, but things that could potentially be agents that are mixed into, I don't know, let's say alchemy. [00:26:30] Speaker E: Like reagents, maybe. [00:26:32] Speaker B: Yeah, you're not an alchemist, so you wouldn't know what those are. [00:26:35] Speaker E: I'm not an alchemist, but I play one on TV. [00:26:38] Speaker B: We're on a podcast. [00:26:39] Speaker E: I play one on actually, I don't. [00:26:40] Speaker B: No, you don't. All right. But yes, you find enough items in here that can be used as chemical reagents for up to two items. Okay. [00:26:50] Speaker D: I will kind of gather them, and I will go over to Sareya, who is darning her dress, I believe. I don't really know what to do with these, but I feel like you probably do. [00:27:05] Speaker A: Oh, wonderful. Yes, I do need some more material components, and that's how she refers to them. [00:27:11] Speaker B: Okay. You also find in one of the drawers two doses of arsenic. [00:27:17] Speaker C: Lovely. [00:27:19] Speaker D: Okay, so he'll pocket those. [00:27:20] Speaker B: Okay. All right. How did the heel check go? [00:27:23] Speaker E: Not ideal. [00:27:24] Speaker B: Okay. Did you critically fail? [00:27:26] Speaker E: I did not critically. I missed it by two. [00:27:28] Speaker B: Okay. I was going to say, well, you like trying to heal him and then you stuck your finger in the wound. No. [00:27:32] Speaker E: Not how you do it. [00:27:33] Speaker B: No. [00:27:33] Speaker D: It's like a dam st. John the Baptist. [00:27:36] Speaker E: So how did I do? As far as the healing goes, you made it in two d eight. [00:27:42] Speaker C: Is it two d eight? [00:27:43] Speaker E: It is two d eight. You can do 78 if not sure. [00:27:46] Speaker C: Well, you take five back oh, sweet. [00:27:48] Speaker F: Off of 78. [00:27:49] Speaker B: Yeah. That's not great. Not great at all. [00:27:52] Speaker E: And unfortunately I can't try again and I don't have any healing left. [00:27:57] Speaker C: Yeah, I can attempt to call upon. [00:28:00] Speaker F: My I can heal him if I cast a spell. [00:28:02] Speaker D: I think that she was literally saying, okay, so maybe we should slow it. [00:28:06] Speaker B: Down, slow your role. [00:28:09] Speaker C: I mean, if you know how to do it better, then sure, it's more just me being a new player and. [00:28:14] Speaker E: Wanting to try all the things. But it was your idea and you do it. [00:28:18] Speaker B: We're going to run around the table. [00:28:20] Speaker C: So I can lay on hands. Okay, that could be helpful infuse a positive energy healing a living creature or damaging an undead, which I hope you are not with a touch. [00:28:33] Speaker A: Right. [00:28:33] Speaker C: Oh, she's awkward. [00:28:35] Speaker H: He crumbles into dust. [00:28:38] Speaker C: You restore six hit points if the target is one of your allies. They also gain a plus two status bonus to AC for one round. [00:28:47] Speaker B: Well, you get the six. [00:28:48] Speaker H: Thank you so much. [00:28:50] Speaker D: He gets the plus two to AC. [00:28:52] Speaker B: And it's gone. [00:28:53] Speaker D: He just doesn't get the benefit of it. I immediately try to shoot him. He feels better about getting the bonus. [00:29:00] Speaker B: You're going to crit and kill him. [00:29:02] Speaker H: Brianna, thank you. That feels like a very positive influence of your God flowing through me. [00:29:10] Speaker C: It is my pleasure. And once we go back home let me see that butter knife of yours. I'll see if I can make it better. And she'll like, punch him lovingly on the arm. [00:29:21] Speaker H: I take five more dimes. [00:29:24] Speaker E: She doesn't know. [00:29:25] Speaker D: Very strong. [00:29:25] Speaker C: Yes, I am. [00:29:26] Speaker E: So good news and bad news. The good news is I did increase in health. Bad news, I'm still only at eight. I'm less than half. [00:29:33] Speaker B: Well, great. So where are you guys going to next? [00:29:35] Speaker C: Should I try and battle medicine? [00:29:36] Speaker E: We're going to heal. Unfortunately, you treated wounds on me, so. [00:29:41] Speaker H: I can't you should drink one of the healing potions. [00:29:45] Speaker B: Yes. You guys have potions? [00:29:46] Speaker E: Sure. I have no problem doing that. But if we might have an expense, one that we can expend without it. If you have a healing spell available. [00:29:53] Speaker F: I do have a healing spell. [00:29:54] Speaker E: So if you want, you can do that. [00:29:56] Speaker F: Otherwise I'll drink. I will do my healing spell. It's soothe again. It's going to be directed just to you. [00:30:02] Speaker B: Can you hit multiple people? [00:30:03] Speaker F: No, I cannot. [00:30:04] Speaker B: Okay. [00:30:04] Speaker F: I was reading over that. [00:30:07] Speaker E: Give it to me. [00:30:07] Speaker F: So I give it to music boy, my soothing old timey like apple ash and hymn. Well, I got Max, so 14. [00:30:17] Speaker E: Oh, sweet. [00:30:17] Speaker B: So we're going. Where are you guys headed up to now? [00:30:21] Speaker F: Let's go to the other room. [00:30:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:23] Speaker D: There is another room out of the kitchen. [00:30:24] Speaker B: Out of the kitchen. There's only one. Yes. There's only one door out of the kitchen. [00:30:27] Speaker D: Well, there are two. Can I use knowledge architecture to figure out that other door goes to the room we were in already? [00:30:34] Speaker E: You're going to get every use out of that. Knowledge architecture. [00:30:36] Speaker B: You can you don't even have to roll. Yes. You know it. Yes. [00:30:39] Speaker D: Having architecture lore is the best. [00:30:41] Speaker H: Pond Watcher kicks down the door. [00:30:43] Speaker B: Okay. [00:30:44] Speaker F: Knowledge of how building layouts are is astounding. [00:30:48] Speaker B: As you kick down the door, you see six humanoid looking things facing you. [00:30:56] Speaker E: Are you serious? [00:30:57] Speaker B: Stop. I'm dead serious. [00:30:59] Speaker H: Finally, my death has come for me. [00:31:02] Speaker C: I just healed you. [00:31:03] Speaker B: Finally. What do you do? [00:31:05] Speaker H: I'm coursing with poison. So I sprint at them. [00:31:08] Speaker B: No, you sprint at them. [00:31:10] Speaker E: You're not coursing with poison. [00:31:11] Speaker B: Give me an attack roll. [00:31:12] Speaker A: Are you really? [00:31:13] Speaker E: No, he's not. He's not coursing with poison. [00:31:15] Speaker H: Eleven. [00:31:16] Speaker B: You run and you tackle a training dummy. Bang. [00:31:21] Speaker H: I seem to have the upper hand. [00:31:23] Speaker B: This large chamber holds rows of molding, straw filled dummies, many of them wielding wooden replicas of various martial weapons. [00:31:32] Speaker E: So while he's laying on the ground fighting this thing, temit puts his hand on Twin Talon's shoulder and says, how long do you want to let him keep doing this? [00:31:41] Speaker D: I'll figure we'll let him kill it now. [00:31:42] Speaker H: I stab you in the liver. [00:31:44] Speaker B: You're doing a great job. [00:31:46] Speaker H: Get him. [00:31:46] Speaker A: You're doing great, sweetie. [00:31:48] Speaker B: Get him. [00:31:49] Speaker E: Oh, man. [00:31:50] Speaker H: Swollen, covered in bites and just punching. [00:31:54] Speaker E: Let him tire himself out. He'll sleep better that way. [00:31:56] Speaker D: Got to let him get a win where he can get it. [00:31:58] Speaker B: It's true. [00:32:00] Speaker D: All right, so the king that is. [00:32:03] Speaker B: Promised is beating the crap out of a straw dummy. Give me a perception check. Pond watcher, please. [00:32:09] Speaker H: 21. [00:32:10] Speaker B: As you're punching this, you suddenly hear the clatter of some coins come out of it. [00:32:17] Speaker H: You will give up your secrets to me. [00:32:19] Speaker D: Someone hiding money in the training dummies. [00:32:21] Speaker H: You cannot pay me to stop beating you. [00:32:25] Speaker A: Okay, can I give him a hero point for just running with this? [00:32:29] Speaker B: Yes. [00:32:29] Speaker H: Yay. [00:32:30] Speaker B: What are the rest of you doing? Let's go here. Twin Talon, what are you doing? [00:32:37] Speaker D: Assuming I realize that the rest of these are training dummies, I'm going to continue pattern of searching the room for anything interesting. [00:32:44] Speaker B: Excellent. Temid. [00:32:45] Speaker E: I'm going to do the same. [00:32:46] Speaker B: Brianna. [00:32:47] Speaker C: I will watch pondwater a little bit longer wishing that this was a time that I could actually have a recording device for this very moment. Instead, I will also look around the room. [00:32:59] Speaker B: Silver. [00:33:01] Speaker F: He's having a great time. I'm going to pawn the money that fell on the ground, just grab it just for yourself. I'll let everybody know about it and. [00:33:10] Speaker A: Surya oh, see, I was going to say start cutting open the other dummies. [00:33:13] Speaker B: And seeing if there's great money. So those of you who are searching around the room, give me a perception check. As you look at the other dummies, you do you find that they all have silver coins stuffed into them. [00:33:24] Speaker E: How many dummies? [00:33:25] Speaker A: How much do I get? [00:33:26] Speaker B: Six. You find a total of oh, no. Once you look in this room, when you open the door, you saw six. There are about 15 molding dummies. [00:33:35] Speaker E: Wow. Let's just take a step back. Pond watcher was willing to run to a room of 15 people and start fucking them up. That's badass. [00:33:42] Speaker B: You find about 20 silver total stuffed in the dummies. All right, were your perception checks. I got an 18, 1814, 1423, 23. Oh, you're watching. You're watching. [00:33:54] Speaker F: I was keeping your charge in check. [00:33:56] Speaker D: Collecting coins, being beaten out of the so twin. [00:33:59] Speaker B: As you're searching through this room, you notice that one of the walls to the south is crumbled and fallen down, but to the southwest, you find a hidden door. [00:34:11] Speaker D: Is there a door to the north as well? Yes, and it looks like there's another door to the northeast. But again, my superior architecture skills, I know that was probably that other room we've already been in. [00:34:24] Speaker B: So there's the secret door to the southwest, there's a door to the west, and there's a door to the north. The rest of you searching this room, also find the secret door. As you're all looking around, does anyone here have lore, architecture? [00:34:42] Speaker G: No. [00:34:44] Speaker B: Either religion or occultism. I'll give those if you have those knowledges train, even if you're not trained in it, you can make the role. [00:34:55] Speaker F: Occultism or religion. [00:34:57] Speaker B: Yes, it's an easier role if you have those. [00:35:00] Speaker F: So that would be a 22. 22 occultism. [00:35:05] Speaker B: Okay. [00:35:06] Speaker A: 24 occultism. [00:35:07] Speaker B: 20. [00:35:07] Speaker D: 418 untrained occultism. [00:35:09] Speaker B: Okay. [00:35:09] Speaker E: 16 religion. [00:35:11] Speaker C: 19 religion. [00:35:12] Speaker B: Okay. [00:35:12] Speaker H: 15 religion. [00:35:13] Speaker B: You're still beating that dummy up. It's great silver. And soraya because you guys are working with the working on the silver, you remember back somehow that the coins in these dummies are probably from a hell knight tradition. Recruits who weren't hell knights, if they messed up or didn't hit their target, they had to put a tithing, basically into the dummy. [00:35:41] Speaker E: Okay, so every time they miss, they put some yeah. [00:35:45] Speaker B: All right. There you go. [00:35:46] Speaker A: Gain more skittles. [00:35:47] Speaker E: That's a nice little bit of lore. I like it really fleshes out again. [00:35:53] Speaker C: Wouldn't that be lore? Hell, there is no such thing. [00:35:57] Speaker B: Right? [00:35:57] Speaker C: That's ridiculous. [00:36:00] Speaker D: I still think architecture lore should apply, but maybe I'm biased. [00:36:04] Speaker F: So you found a secret door. Is that right? [00:36:07] Speaker H: Is that you're trying to say yes. [00:36:09] Speaker D: Next to this crumbled wall, I found a secret door. [00:36:11] Speaker F: All right, I'm happy to open up that door or to have you open it. [00:36:16] Speaker D: I'm certainly capable of opening a door I found. [00:36:20] Speaker E: I don't care. Just open it. [00:36:22] Speaker D: Okay, so is Pond Watcher done beating the snot out of that dummy? [00:36:26] Speaker H: I don't know. What do you think? [00:36:29] Speaker B: He holds up the dumb head so. [00:36:31] Speaker E: Everyone'S like, wow, such a good job. We'll put that on the refrigerator. [00:36:37] Speaker A: Just like pat, pat. [00:36:39] Speaker H: What is training dummy for? He's not training. I leveled up. [00:36:42] Speaker C: Do you feel better? [00:36:43] Speaker B: Shut up. [00:36:46] Speaker D: Okay, so if everybody is kind of paying attention, then he will open the door, see where it goes. [00:36:53] Speaker B: All right, what's your thievery bonus plus seven? You unlock the door quite easily, actually, almost as if it was already unlocked. [00:37:02] Speaker D: All right, swing it in. [00:37:03] Speaker B: All right. As you walk in wait, I swing oh, you swing the door in. Okay, got you. [00:37:09] Speaker D: As you rush into the room and kill yourself, like, oh, hold on. [00:37:12] Speaker E: 16 traps fall, and we'll find out next week if he dies or not. [00:37:15] Speaker B: Oh, no. So you step in, you swing open the door. [00:37:19] Speaker H: Yes. [00:37:20] Speaker B: This well hidden closet holds dust furred tables covered in jumbled but ominous accessories, pentagram covered tomes, heavy melted candles, scattered pieces of loose chalk, vats of moldy incense, moth eaten robes, and several empty, dusty weapon racks. [00:37:43] Speaker D: Okay, so I will just, from the doorway, just peer in to make sure there's no falling poor colorses or hidden blade traps. Creepy imps setting fire to things. What is your stealth bonus plus seven? [00:38:00] Speaker B: You notice that there is a spear launcher trap located about 10ft in front of you. [00:38:09] Speaker D: Okay, then I would like to try to disable it. And I will also let everybody know to clear the doorway in case I fail. I don't want someone else to get skewed. [00:38:17] Speaker F: All right? [00:38:18] Speaker B: Please. [00:38:19] Speaker E: As he's as he's going to do that, I'm going to take a moment to put my hand on his shoulder and say, good luck, budy. And I'm going to cast guidance on him. So that gives plus one. [00:38:28] Speaker B: Plus one? Yeah, I will give you the option. Do you want me to roll it or do you want to roll it? [00:38:32] Speaker E: Oh, God, it's deadly. [00:38:34] Speaker D: Let's see. [00:38:37] Speaker B: How'S it supposed to work. I believe I'm supposed to roll it. [00:38:40] Speaker D: Well, let's do it by the rules, Sean. That way I can blame you if I die. [00:38:44] Speaker B: So what's your thievery bonus plus seven. [00:38:46] Speaker D: And plus one for guidance would be eight. [00:38:49] Speaker B: So you look ahead and you notice that it is connected to a pressure plate. Okay? So you kind of carefully, with your thieves tools, jimmy up the pressure plate, and you see that the weight, when it pushes down, pushes down on a billows, which will shoot the spear out. You carefully puncture the bellows in here, and you see the spear kind of start to come out and then just stop because there's not enough air. Sticks right out of the head of the spear. Just sticks out of the hole that it was going to come out of, and this trap is disabled. [00:39:30] Speaker E: Nice work, friend. [00:39:32] Speaker D: Thanks. Just to be safe, as long as I don't see anything else, twin Talon is going to go remove the spear from the trap. [00:39:37] Speaker B: Yes. You managed to remove the spear. [00:39:40] Speaker E: Is it an expensive looking spear? [00:39:41] Speaker B: No, it is very old. It probably wouldn't when it hit, you would shatter and become useless and splinter. So brittle. [00:39:49] Speaker E: Yes. What we can do is we can have one of our friends here repair it and then give it to Pond watcher, because he'll destroy things with it. [00:39:56] Speaker B: All right. [00:39:57] Speaker D: So at that point, he will motion everybody that it's safe, and he will go in, and he's interested in that pentagram tome. [00:40:03] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:40:03] Speaker B: Please, if you could give me either a religion or society check. [00:40:09] Speaker D: I have society. [00:40:11] Speaker E: I'm sorry. [00:40:12] Speaker B: On the tome that he's looking at. What are you doing? [00:40:15] Speaker E: So I've noticed that he picked up a tome. Right. So I'd be interested in what that's all about. [00:40:20] Speaker B: Okay. You can also ditto for Serrano. Okay. So yes. What are you doing? [00:40:25] Speaker F: I'm actually going to open the door, the westernmost door in the other room because there's so many people in the tiny chamber. [00:40:32] Speaker B: Okay, give me a second. [00:40:35] Speaker F: Just want to peer inside. [00:40:36] Speaker B: It pond watcher. [00:40:37] Speaker H: I go with silver. [00:40:38] Speaker B: Okay. Brianna. [00:40:41] Speaker C: Brianna will take a step back, and we'll be keeping a lookout at both Silver and Pond Watcher, as well as what's happening in this room, just to keep ready for whatever happens. [00:40:55] Speaker B: All right, so those of you who were rolling about the tome, what were your totals? [00:40:59] Speaker D: So I'm back to form, and I got a four. [00:41:02] Speaker E: Okay, I did a lot better than that. I doubled them, and I got an eight. [00:41:05] Speaker A: Okay, 25. [00:41:07] Speaker E: Thank you so much. [00:41:10] Speaker D: Like, I'm looking at the upside down in the book. I'm like I don't understand. [00:41:15] Speaker E: Okay, we're both like, no, you got to turn it sideways. [00:41:18] Speaker B: That's how you read it. [00:41:19] Speaker D: Push your hell knights right upside down. [00:41:21] Speaker B: This is obviously a book dedicated to the church of Asmodeus. [00:41:28] Speaker E: Asmodeus. [00:41:29] Speaker C: Oh, don't tell Brianna. [00:41:31] Speaker D: Rock me. Asmodeus. [00:41:33] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:41:34] Speaker A: That was last episode. [00:41:35] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:41:36] Speaker E: We could go kaden killian reviles few things more than Asmodeus. So this is actually a big deal for him too. [00:41:43] Speaker B: All right, well, let me just keep reading or telling you what's going on. You know, that these are supplies are for a ritual to summon devils from hell. And you can probably guess that the weapons once stored here were likely silver weapons, which, you know, devils are weak too. [00:42:04] Speaker I: Interesting. [00:42:05] Speaker B: You two. Twin Talon and Temid. You guys think this is a book from Norgborger? That weird. [00:42:14] Speaker E: Rovagug. [00:42:15] Speaker B: That weird thing the goblins were talking. [00:42:17] Speaker D: About, I think they opened they were trying to open a wall burgers. [00:42:20] Speaker B: Yes. [00:42:23] Speaker D: I think it's a cookbook. [00:42:24] Speaker A: I don't really get this around the rest of the like, the book and. [00:42:27] Speaker B: Everything in the room looks ancient. [00:42:29] Speaker A: Like this hasn't been touched in a while. [00:42:31] Speaker B: Yes, it's definitely old and moldy. [00:42:33] Speaker F: Were the Hell knights, like, summoning devils to kill? [00:42:36] Speaker D: No, but they probably would want a way to so they would probably want to make deals with them. So to force the devil to make a deal, they would want something to be able to hurt it. Because if it shows up and they can't do anything to it, it's very unlikely it would agree to anything and probably would kill them. [00:42:51] Speaker E: Also. We're in Isgar, and summoning devils is actually like a pastime here. It's actually very common for devils or devil fiendish creatures to be enslaved and in service of the people here. [00:43:08] Speaker A: Can we do like a little you guys are looking at it. One of you starts to read aloud and I just no, just yank it away. [00:43:16] Speaker E: I can't picture it. Like, relax. Are rolling in the back of her head. [00:43:21] Speaker B: Very bad news. [00:43:23] Speaker A: Very bad news. [00:43:25] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:43:25] Speaker B: You find some more things. Okay. Because you rolled so well, you also find behind some of the items, like some of the ritual items, you find a forgotten silver long sword. What also find a sealed lockbox. What? [00:43:47] Speaker A: As I yank the book away from them, I turn and I get as. [00:43:51] Speaker B: You yank the book away, you turn around and bump into the sword and you're like, on the floor. [00:43:57] Speaker A: Go to pick it up. [00:43:58] Speaker B: Bonk. [00:43:58] Speaker A: My head on the lockbox. [00:44:00] Speaker E: Yeah, pretty much so. I'm sorry. There's a lockbox and a silver and. [00:44:04] Speaker D: A silver sword that silver has found and we have not correct. [00:44:08] Speaker B: Because she rolled I imagine it's double digits. [00:44:10] Speaker A: Suddenly find a long sword. [00:44:13] Speaker D: Well, we rolled very poor. [00:44:14] Speaker B: Yeah, they rolled single digits. [00:44:16] Speaker E: We're still like no, I'm pretty sure that was like, whatever. We're going back and forth with completely incorrect conjecture about what that Tomez. [00:44:28] Speaker A: While that I'm drawing sort of in. [00:44:31] Speaker B: The background, the lockbox is indeed locked. Just so you are aware, one person. [00:44:37] Speaker E: Here that can do it. [00:44:38] Speaker F: Are there initials on it that say, like, that say Al G. Yeah. [00:44:42] Speaker A: Right. Well, given that the starting gear I have includes a sheath, she's going to sword away. Just pretend she always had it. [00:44:52] Speaker D: How fortuitous. [00:44:53] Speaker B: Yes. Right. [00:44:54] Speaker F: Can you use the long sword? [00:44:57] Speaker B: Doesn't matter. It accessorizes anyone? [00:45:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a normal. [00:45:02] Speaker E: Timid turns around like type. Do you always have that long sword? I never noticed it. Good luck for you. And then he goes, Isn't it? [00:45:09] Speaker A: But she will draw the know. There's also this. I would very carefully make sure that there's no magic involved and that there's no traps on it when you open it, but I don't know what could be inside. [00:45:21] Speaker E: So actually, Temid will detect magic on it, but he'll also kind of get Sorea a little bit too with this detect magic because it's a cone straight ahead, I guess. [00:45:31] Speaker B: It's a pulse. It's a pulse. Whatever it is, there is magic. [00:45:34] Speaker E: Then he does it without SurreyA in it. [00:45:36] Speaker B: There is magic. [00:45:37] Speaker E: Hey, guys. This is a magical lockbox. [00:45:39] Speaker C: Oh, dear. [00:45:40] Speaker A: All right, could I knowledge arcana to identify what kind of magic is going on on the lockbox? [00:45:46] Speaker B: Yes. Give me a roll. 16 evocation magic. [00:45:52] Speaker D: So it used to be that rogues could disable magical traps. Is that still a thing? [00:45:58] Speaker B: I mean, you can try. [00:45:59] Speaker E: So that was ten minutes for you to identify the magic item. [00:46:05] Speaker A: I imagine we're fine sitting here for ten minutes. [00:46:07] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:46:07] Speaker E: I just want to make sure that. [00:46:08] Speaker A: We'Re doing that role play time. [00:46:10] Speaker D: Okay. I will attempt to figure out what the fireball is that's going to kill me and then scratch out the right rune. [00:46:17] Speaker B: What's your bonus? [00:46:18] Speaker D: Plus seven for thievery. [00:46:20] Speaker B: Okay. So you have your lock picks going in there, and you think back to the Reliant bog company. You think about that door and how it frustrated you, and you realize you're getting better with this time, because as you're thinking about it, you feel the lock picks click and the top opens, the springs open a little bit so you could reach in and open it. Okay. You've successfully picked the lock. [00:46:54] Speaker A: Okay. [00:46:55] Speaker D: Does that mean I've also bypassed any traps or anything that were on it? [00:46:58] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. Presumably. [00:47:00] Speaker D: So I'm going to turn it away from myself and open the lid. [00:47:03] Speaker A: I'm going to make sure I'm not. [00:47:04] Speaker D: Right, not in anybody's face, just toward a wall. [00:47:06] Speaker B: Nothing happens. Okay. [00:47:07] Speaker D: Then I will turn around and read the rune of I'm behind you. [00:47:11] Speaker B: Yeah. You see what appears to be a mummified elf hand on a golden chain. It's gnarled fingers in a particular pattern. [00:47:22] Speaker D: That's giving me the finger. [00:47:25] Speaker A: Yes. [00:47:27] Speaker D: Okay, this is weird. [00:47:29] Speaker A: Can I identify Vet with the knowledge arcana? [00:47:32] Speaker B: Yes. [00:47:33] Speaker C: Does he show it to you? [00:47:35] Speaker D: Yeah, once I see it, I'm just like I'll turn it to them and be like, I don't know what this is. [00:47:40] Speaker B: That's only a ten. [00:47:42] Speaker D: Yeah, it's super gross, actually. [00:47:43] Speaker B: Yeah. It is called a hand of the mage. You can find it in the Pathfinder core rule book on page 611. Also, if you're interested in reading what's in the book that you found that has the star pentagram on it, you. [00:48:01] Speaker D: Can do hand of the mage for two actions, which is command and envision. You can cast mage hand. So it's like a necklace that allows you to cast mage hand, but it's. [00:48:13] Speaker A: A mummified elf hand. [00:48:14] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:48:15] Speaker F: Are you going to wear your own people's mummified hand? [00:48:19] Speaker A: No one else can see my face, but the answer is clearly no. [00:48:21] Speaker B: I'll wear it. I find that incredibly rude, actually. [00:48:25] Speaker E: I think it matches your character a lot more. [00:48:27] Speaker F: I would probably wear it. [00:48:29] Speaker B: Well, you're not here right now. [00:48:30] Speaker F: No, I'm about to do something that excites the GM. [00:48:33] Speaker E: Yes. [00:48:36] Speaker D: I think that twin talon will just close the box and tuck it into his backpack. [00:48:41] Speaker B: By the way, Temid, you know that now that you see that there was a magic item in the box, that's probably what the magic was. [00:48:49] Speaker E: Yeah, I got that. [00:48:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:48:51] Speaker E: He's like, so what was that item in there? [00:48:54] Speaker D: It was a creepy hand on a chain. Oh, mummified. Cool. [00:48:59] Speaker E: You know who'd like that? I think Silver would like that. [00:49:03] Speaker A: It's an elf hand. I'd really rather not. [00:49:07] Speaker E: Whatever it takes to fight the forces of evil and injustice, I think it doesn't really matter what it looks like. [00:49:12] Speaker C: Did I hear that right? Is that a mummified hand? [00:49:16] Speaker A: Mummified hand of an elf. And I'd rather not. [00:49:18] Speaker D: Yeah, right. But somebody put a mummified elf hand on a chain. [00:49:22] Speaker B: Why is this? [00:49:23] Speaker E: It's useful. [00:49:24] Speaker B: So we're going to flip to the. [00:49:28] Speaker A: Other unless there's anything brianne, you're in here with us. [00:49:32] Speaker C: I'm between, which is why I was like, you guys are talking like, what is that? [00:49:38] Speaker A: Well, let's go if that's all there is. [00:49:40] Speaker B: All right, well, so while you guys are doing that, we're going to go to the other room. [00:49:48] Speaker F: I'm standing next to Pond Watcher. I opened the door. He's standing right next to me as well. [00:49:54] Speaker D: Make sure to bring your friends in on your bad decision. [00:49:56] Speaker B: Yes. So you open the door. [00:49:57] Speaker F: He said he was with you. [00:49:58] Speaker B: See, inside the room, it is dimly lit with torches, its flagstones painted entirely black. This sprawling and irregularly shaped room contains a circular sunken area in its middle. The arena's edges are painted a deep crimson and ominous crimson pentagram fills its center.
