[00:00:40] Speaker A: Hey, gang, it's Haya and I play Brianna on the show. I just wanted to take a minute this week to welcome you to episode 20 frickin eight and to thank our second very, very special Patreon supporter, Mike from Australia. Thank you so very much. We do mention you on the show. Keep an ear out for that. Otherwise, my dears, if you are interested in also having your name shouted out, in helping us keep the lights on, feeding the cobalds, and generally keeping the show going, please consider donating to our patreon. You will find that information in the show notes. Okay, I guess that's really it from me this week. Let me take you to the table for episode 28, with or without you. [00:01:32] Speaker B: Welcome to the 20 eigth episode of the Crack Die podcast. [00:01:37] Speaker C: Can we do. [00:01:39] Speaker D: First of all, I'd like to say a thing about numbers, which everyone can feel free to tell me I'm wrong, because we started with three. The 20 eigth episode would be halfway through the year, right? [00:01:49] Speaker B: One, two, three. Yeah, right. Look at that. Half a year of this show. [00:01:56] Speaker E: Sensual. [00:01:57] Speaker D: So I'd like to thank everyone out there who has wasted half a year with us. [00:02:02] Speaker B: It's not a waste. We hope that this has gotten you through some boring car, some boring car rides or train rides or whatever rides. [00:02:12] Speaker F: Also, they could have binged it. So it may not be a half year. Could be like a day. We do know of at least one person that binge watched in the matter of, like, two days or something. Yeah, or binge listened. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Binge listened the whole thing before their flights, which I really appreciate that person. [00:02:25] Speaker C: Yeah. Thanks for spending. This is going to be 28 hours. [00:02:29] Speaker B: Yeah. At least 28 hours of your life. [00:02:31] Speaker C: Congratulations. You've now kind of hung out with us for a full ass day, and. [00:02:36] Speaker F: I can do apologize. [00:02:38] Speaker B: All right, I guess we should get into the game. [00:02:42] Speaker D: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:45] Speaker G: All heroes continued to fight Vase. The Tixatog and its newly hatched swarms snuck around and attacked all heroes. Twin Talon took a debilitating amount of damage, and Pond Watcher was able to take out vase. Finally, will all heroes be able to survive this attack from the Tixatog and swarms so soon after dealing with vase and her minions? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:03:18] Speaker B: Tamed. What did you roll? [00:03:19] Speaker F: I rolled a natural 15. [00:03:21] Speaker E: Wow. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Which makes it a 25 against this spider creature. [00:03:26] Speaker F: Yes. [00:03:26] Speaker B: So go ahead and roll damage, because that's a hit. [00:03:29] Speaker F: I know that's a hit. [00:03:30] Speaker E: That's a hit. [00:03:30] Speaker F: And that's seven points of damage. [00:03:33] Speaker H: Get it? [00:03:35] Speaker B: That will kill. As you slice into it, it flips on its back and its legs stiffen and goes straight up. [00:03:45] Speaker E: All right, that could have been a lot worse. [00:03:47] Speaker B: That was your first action. [00:03:48] Speaker I: Well struck. [00:03:49] Speaker F: Second action is I turn to Brienna and I pick my sword. Say, let's get that swarm. [00:03:57] Speaker D: I wonder where that was going. [00:03:58] Speaker B: Yeah, neither did I. I didn't either. [00:04:01] Speaker H: Oh, my. What's happening? [00:04:04] Speaker D: It's a long trip to the well. And it was dry. [00:04:07] Speaker C: Ouch. [00:04:08] Speaker I: You should start a love quadrangle. [00:04:10] Speaker F: No, that wasn't that. It was more like I wanted people to think I was going to stab her. [00:04:14] Speaker C: Wait, who's the fourth? [00:04:15] Speaker H: Oh, see, I thought. Well, technically, it's already a quadrangle because you flirted with him. [00:04:22] Speaker F: Square. [00:04:22] Speaker I: It's true. [00:04:23] Speaker B: It's a square. They're called quadrangle. [00:04:26] Speaker H: I prefer quadrangle. [00:04:29] Speaker F: Second action do magic weapons do anything against swarms. [00:04:33] Speaker B: They bypass anything they can hit them. [00:04:34] Speaker F: Okay, but I guess they don't bypass him. [00:04:36] Speaker D: I think, in general, weapons do less damage to swarms than full. [00:04:41] Speaker B: They have some resistances. [00:04:43] Speaker F: Okay, so he's just going to take this opportunity to strike while the iron is hot. [00:04:48] Speaker B: Yes. [00:04:48] Speaker F: And to 21, that'll hit. All right. Nine points of damage. [00:04:55] Speaker B: What type of damage? [00:04:57] Speaker F: It's piercing, so it's probably not going to do much. [00:04:59] Speaker B: In this version, they have a resistance amount. Once you exceed that, then that damage goes through. So let's say they have a resistance of slashing five. The first five damage is ignored. Everything above that is taken. [00:05:11] Speaker F: Okay. [00:05:11] Speaker B: And your third action? They're still there? [00:05:13] Speaker F: Well, I'm not going to risk hurting myself by doing a failure. Can't cast shield because I did that last time. So he's just going to hang out? Yeah, he's going to hang out. [00:05:24] Speaker B: Great. The swarm goes. First action is to move on to temid. Sorry. Second action is to swarm on temid. [00:05:32] Speaker H: Rude. [00:05:32] Speaker E: What is this? [00:05:33] Speaker D: One d? Four damage and a fort save. [00:05:34] Speaker B: Yep. Temid, take four damage. It's piercing, by the way. [00:05:38] Speaker F: 17 on the fort. [00:05:39] Speaker B: Tooth save, you're fine. And then do it again. Make another save and take another three damage. [00:05:44] Speaker F: This one's even higher. [00:05:45] Speaker B: All right, then. [00:05:46] Speaker C: You're fine. [00:05:46] Speaker B: Soraya. There is a dead elf by your feet. [00:05:50] Speaker C: There is. I'm assuming we probably maybe want her alive so we can ask her what's going on. So she's going to. I've got a healing potion do with the orc guy. [00:06:00] Speaker B: He's tied up out front. [00:06:01] Speaker C: I know. So I'm like. So I probably can't tie her up as well. [00:06:04] Speaker B: No, you used your rope. [00:06:05] Speaker C: I'm going to rifle through her thing to see what has she got on her. [00:06:08] Speaker B: All right, so if you're not going to take any other combat things, I'll tell you what you find after. [00:06:13] Speaker C: But yes, she's great. Effectively out of combat. Unless you guys desperately need me to take care of the last. [00:06:19] Speaker F: I mean, you're like the best equipped to take care of the swarm. [00:06:22] Speaker E: But silver is going to. Well, first action, he'll maintain his bardic courage for everybody. All right, second and third action. Since I have light on me, I'm going to go back into scary Spider Woman's cave, see if I can't find anything. [00:06:38] Speaker H: Tema, do you have light on you? [00:06:39] Speaker F: I do. [00:06:40] Speaker C: Okay, good. [00:06:40] Speaker E: Yeah. See if I can get some. [00:06:42] Speaker B: All right, so you're gonna hang out. Time to explore, twin Talon. [00:06:46] Speaker D: I see Soraya going through Vaz's stuff since that's where I am. Right down by her. [00:06:53] Speaker B: Yes. [00:06:53] Speaker F: Do you have any light sources? [00:06:55] Speaker D: Yeah, I have a bird with a torch. [00:06:57] Speaker B: Okay, cool. [00:06:59] Speaker D: I'll ask. Are you planning on stopping her bleeding? [00:07:03] Speaker C: I don't have anything that would stop her. If we bring her back up. I can't find her. Do you have anything to gag her and get rid of her hand so she can't cast any spells? [00:07:10] Speaker D: Twin Talon will take an action to sheath his sword. [00:07:14] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:15] Speaker D: Then he will take an action to remove his backpack. [00:07:19] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:20] Speaker D: And then he will take an action to pull a rope out of his backpack. [00:07:25] Speaker B: Great. [00:07:25] Speaker I: Thought you were just going to put the backpack on her head. [00:07:29] Speaker E: If you can't see her face, she. [00:07:32] Speaker I: Can'T cast bills like a bird. [00:07:34] Speaker F: You're up. [00:07:37] Speaker D: It probably would work. [00:07:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:39] Speaker I: I am going to blow into my hands, creating a little fireball. And I'm going to say, hey, I made a. [00:07:47] Speaker B: Don't move. [00:07:47] Speaker E: Okay. [00:07:48] Speaker I: And then I'm going to throw it at this again. Throw it at the swarm. [00:07:52] Speaker B: All right. [00:07:53] Speaker F: Liquid with fire. [00:07:55] Speaker D: Forgot you had that ability. [00:07:56] Speaker I: Yeah, me too. 14. [00:07:59] Speaker B: That'll hit. [00:08:00] Speaker F: Yes. [00:08:00] Speaker H: Good job. [00:08:02] Speaker F: It doesn't hit me, though, right? [00:08:04] Speaker I: Five. Fire damage. [00:08:05] Speaker B: Nice. [00:08:06] Speaker F: Do you have the ability to make sure it doesn't hit me? [00:08:08] Speaker D: Targeting a creature? [00:08:09] Speaker B: And is it area damage? [00:08:11] Speaker I: It's an attack roll, so no. So that was two actions. [00:08:16] Speaker B: Well, you killed the spider. Yes. [00:08:19] Speaker F: That is some amazing throwing there. [00:08:21] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:08:22] Speaker F: Forged me. Yes. [00:08:24] Speaker I: I somehow hit 50 spiders with a little ball of fire. [00:08:28] Speaker B: Well, you got one. And it kind of started running around and it started lighting all the other spiders on fire. And you just hear like popcorn popping as they all light. [00:08:37] Speaker F: Tempt's like something smells good in here. [00:08:39] Speaker I: No, that's good eating. [00:08:41] Speaker E: Are we out of combat? [00:08:43] Speaker B: We are finally out of combat. [00:08:47] Speaker H: Well done everyone. [00:08:48] Speaker F: Temit scoops him up and hands him to pond watcher is like, want a taste? [00:08:54] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:54] Speaker H: I will let you both try. [00:08:56] Speaker F: Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch. [00:08:58] Speaker B: They're delicious. [00:08:59] Speaker I: Pond watcher sits down because he's fatigued. [00:09:01] Speaker B: Okay. [00:09:03] Speaker F: Giving him a snack so that he feels better. [00:09:05] Speaker B: So let's go around the table and see what everyone is doing as we switch into exploration mode. [00:09:11] Speaker E: Nothing. [00:09:11] Speaker I: I'm doing nothing. [00:09:13] Speaker B: Fatigued. Twin Talon, you and I assume we're. [00:09:16] Speaker C: Tying up and patching up vase? [00:09:18] Speaker D: Yes, I will tie her up if you are healing her. [00:09:21] Speaker C: Yeah, if you have the healing potion. Or I can get an elixir of life and just kind of like wear that down. [00:09:25] Speaker B: So you guys are working on vase? Temed, what are you doing? [00:09:29] Speaker F: So temed would like to go into the room where silver is and he'd like to search for any signs of any, possibly any more babies or anything. Treasure that treasure. Anything like that in that room. [00:09:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Brianna. [00:09:44] Speaker H: Could Brianna hear what was going on in the other cave thingy that twin Talon and Surya are in? [00:09:53] Speaker B: It's not that far. It is a little echoey in here. It is a cave so you can kind of make out bits and pieces, but you're not quite sure what's going on. [00:10:00] Speaker H: Okay, just to double check. She will go down there just to see how they're faring and how Vas made it out or not. [00:10:08] Speaker B: All right, pond watcher, you're just chilling right there. You going to go camp in the tent? [00:10:14] Speaker I: I can't take exploration mode action so I'm just going to sit down. [00:10:19] Speaker B: Do you want to sit in that hallway or would you like to sit closer to where the group will be meeting, I'm assuming. [00:10:25] Speaker I: Yeah, I'll sit there because I can sort of. Oh well, now all the light sources left. [00:10:31] Speaker H: I'll stay with pond Watcher. [00:10:33] Speaker D: Your lights out too? [00:10:34] Speaker I: Yeah. [00:10:35] Speaker H: Well then I have to stay with you anyway. [00:10:36] Speaker I: I just sit there in the dark. [00:10:38] Speaker B: In the darkness. [00:10:40] Speaker I: We won the fight. [00:10:41] Speaker F: But to actually, I'm kind of rethinking what temit like. Would he want to go into that room or would he want to go and see if he can help out with that situation? [00:10:49] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:10:50] Speaker F: Does he know what's going on with. [00:10:51] Speaker B: No, I don't think so. [00:10:52] Speaker F: Right, but then does it make sense for him to want to go back and check? [00:10:56] Speaker I: I killed her. Don't worry about it. [00:10:58] Speaker D: Okay, Pondwater did come up. He's the one that. [00:11:01] Speaker F: Right, but we caught her. [00:11:03] Speaker I: She's dead now. [00:11:04] Speaker F: Okay, I think we'll say that that chopped her head off while we were sharing that. Popcorn spiders. All right, and then we went. [00:11:11] Speaker B: And then I and silver, you're exploring. [00:11:14] Speaker E: I'm looking for loot. [00:11:15] Speaker B: All right, looking for loot in all the wrong. So, temid and silver, what is your perception bonus? [00:11:21] Speaker E: Plus nine? [00:11:21] Speaker F: My perception bonus is plus eight. [00:11:23] Speaker B: You see some other sacks of web about human sized, and you start to kind of, like, pick through those, and as you cut them open, you see that these are drained bodies. [00:11:34] Speaker F: Do any of them look familiar to us? [00:11:36] Speaker B: No, but you find a small, half chewed humanoid corpse among the mix. Oh, great. [00:11:43] Speaker E: Small like it could be a halfling, or small like it's a child. [00:11:45] Speaker B: No, more halfling sized. Okay. However, it still has armor on and. [00:11:52] Speaker E: A weapon attached to it, I guess, detect magic. [00:11:57] Speaker F: Yes. He can do it, because we both have it, but it'll do the same thing. [00:12:01] Speaker B: They both are magic. So that's going to take you ten minutes to locate down where that is. And you've already been looking, so let's cut to the other group that is down by the fallen vase. So tie her up and you bring her back with a potion. She is gagged, so she can't really say anything. [00:12:24] Speaker D: Yes, I have hog tied her hands and feet, basically behind her back, so. [00:12:29] Speaker C: No somatic components, no verbal components. [00:12:31] Speaker D: Yeah, and I've gagged her as well. [00:12:32] Speaker B: Yeah, you also searched her body before the end of combat. So on her body, you find the following things. A dagger, a healing potion, useful. Two scrolls, and that seems to be it. [00:12:58] Speaker C: Okay, well, can I check out the scrolls? Because I know at least I can do that. [00:13:02] Speaker B: Oh, she also has a knapsack containing her journal and papers. [00:13:07] Speaker D: That's a physical prop. [00:13:08] Speaker C: He just handed out a little prop. [00:13:10] Speaker I: See, we could have just killed her. She had a journal. [00:13:13] Speaker F: It always has to work out that way, otherwise the story can't continue. I guess we don't know where anything is. [00:13:17] Speaker I: Time to retire. [00:13:18] Speaker B: All right, so while the rest of you are looking around in that area, she's not really moving much, but she definitely has some fire in her eyes of like, I will kill you all. I will escape. [00:13:32] Speaker F: Cool. [00:13:32] Speaker D: I'm going to sneak attack the shit out of her with non lethal damage. [00:13:37] Speaker B: Okay, so you're knocking her out? Yes. All right, she's out. She had one hit. [00:13:40] Speaker F: Take a minus two to that. [00:13:42] Speaker D: I think we can bring her back if we need to, but last thing we need is for her to wriggle free. [00:13:46] Speaker B: Also, while you're all searching, you feel slightly invigorated. In a great way. [00:13:55] Speaker D: In a level four kind of way. [00:13:57] Speaker B: In a level four kind. [00:14:03] Speaker I: Of. Thanks, vase. [00:14:05] Speaker D: I got to say, I know Aaron said that last level, level three was where he was getting into some good stuff. With being a bard, I feel like level four is where I start getting some good stuff. [00:14:13] Speaker C: I think level five is where I'm going to hit my stride a little. [00:14:16] Speaker E: What did me and Tamud figure out about this armor? [00:14:20] Speaker B: Figured out that you need to roll a crafting check or a arcana check to figure out what they are. [00:14:27] Speaker E: I got this. [00:14:28] Speaker F: I got a plus zero on both. [00:14:30] Speaker B: Great. [00:14:31] Speaker F: So do I have to be trained for either of those? [00:14:34] Speaker B: No. [00:14:34] Speaker E: 27. [00:14:35] Speaker F: Okay, I'm not going to roll. [00:14:37] Speaker B: I don't care. You have a plus one splint mail and you get a plus one returning. Striking stark knife. [00:14:43] Speaker F: Oh, cool. Okay, that's pretty good. [00:14:45] Speaker E: Can barbarians wear a splint mail? [00:14:48] Speaker I: Is it medium armor? [00:14:50] Speaker B: No, it's small. [00:14:52] Speaker E: Oh. [00:14:55] Speaker F: Boy. [00:14:57] Speaker H: Would you like a new bra? [00:14:58] Speaker E: I guess we can sell it. [00:15:00] Speaker I: Yes. [00:15:00] Speaker B: Remember, you can remove the plus one from it, and then you have a regular suited small splint mail that you can sell for whatever. [00:15:07] Speaker E: All right, I'll just hold on to this tiny halfling splint mail after you. [00:15:11] Speaker I: Remove it from the dead person. [00:15:12] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:15:13] Speaker B: All right. [00:15:13] Speaker E: What do you say about you and I loop around in that other tunnel there? We know it goes that one place. Let's see if there's anything down there. Oh, and God rest your soul. Sorry you got eaten by dark one bugs. [00:15:26] Speaker I: Yeah, I'm just sitting in the dark still. [00:15:30] Speaker F: Hold off with that for a second and maybe. [00:15:32] Speaker I: Hello? I'm very tired. [00:15:37] Speaker E: Where'd you go? [00:15:39] Speaker H: We're not at an end. [00:15:41] Speaker E: There they are. Oh, hello. [00:15:43] Speaker F: I say we head back. [00:15:43] Speaker E: Yeah. All right. [00:15:44] Speaker F: Check out this thing together. [00:15:45] Speaker B: All right, so the rest of you. [00:15:47] Speaker F: But I would like to say that Temit is taking a little bit of time to hopefully put. He doesn't know anything about this halfling that died, but maybe says something quietly as silver walks away, he says something quietly to try to give him some peace. [00:16:02] Speaker B: You all move back to the camp, which you can only assume is where Vaz has been staying. [00:16:08] Speaker I: Hey, look, a bunch of crates. I have a crowbar. [00:16:12] Speaker B: As you go through there, you see that? These crates are just full of hay, as if they were ready to move items out. [00:16:20] Speaker D: Like antiques or antiquities. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Yes. [00:16:24] Speaker H: Should we roll perception to see if there's anything within the. [00:16:27] Speaker B: No, there's nothing. No, you guys loot through that pretty thoroughly and don't discover anything. However, there is a journal. [00:16:35] Speaker C: Oh, yes. [00:16:36] Speaker B: That I painstakingly made. [00:16:38] Speaker H: It is beautiful. [00:16:41] Speaker I: Wait, so we all. We. Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, but we all got back in that room, so now we know that Vaz is not dead anymore. [00:16:49] Speaker B: Well, she's tied up. [00:16:50] Speaker I: Right, but I didn't know that. [00:16:52] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:16:53] Speaker I: Pond is. She's unconscious. [00:16:55] Speaker D: Twin Talon will kind of haul her in and set her ungracefully on the ground. [00:17:01] Speaker I: How has you brought her back to life? [00:17:04] Speaker D: She wasn't quite dead. [00:17:05] Speaker I: She's an enemy, though. [00:17:07] Speaker C: She might be useful to interrogate, see if we can get any more information. [00:17:11] Speaker I: Good idea. [00:17:12] Speaker C: Yes. [00:17:12] Speaker I: I'll keep an eye on her. And he just like, lays down, like. [00:17:16] Speaker C: Face to face, kind of like. [00:17:20] Speaker I: I am extremely tired from all the dragon blood stuff finds, like a piece. [00:17:26] Speaker C: Of cloth, drapes over you. [00:17:28] Speaker I: I'm just going to sleep for a moment. [00:17:31] Speaker F: Are we going to watch her? If you're sleeping. Good argument. I understand. [00:17:40] Speaker C: So her journal does seem to confirm that she was looking for the Ayodara and all the portals. There is something in here about rituals to communicate with the dead, but that's not expounded upon. So I don't know if it just says rituals to communicate with the dead and nothing else. [00:17:55] Speaker B: Yes, that is correct. [00:17:57] Speaker C: All right, so there's something in here about rituals to communicate with the dead, but that's literally all it says. Little dashy lines and rituals to communicate. [00:18:05] Speaker I: It would be easier for her to communicate with the dead once she's dead. [00:18:08] Speaker C: But then not communicate. [00:18:09] Speaker E: Wise words. [00:18:10] Speaker D: That's true. [00:18:12] Speaker C: There is something here about one of the portals. It once linked to Kyonin, but it has fallen into ruin. [00:18:18] Speaker D: The home elf land, right? [00:18:19] Speaker I: Yes. [00:18:20] Speaker C: Observations from soldiers suggest that the other five portals still stood to activate them. You must find the key, or key item. That's unclear. The rest, I'm assuming, refers to Balka. Able to take out a few spiders. Need to find a way to deal with her by nor Gorber's hand. I must find all the ring. [00:18:38] Speaker F: By which hand nor Gorber? [00:18:40] Speaker C: Here, I'll pass this around. [00:18:42] Speaker I: But it's like a God or something, right? [00:18:45] Speaker C: Can I, like, I can't call knowledge. [00:18:47] Speaker D: On that is nor Gorber the goblin one. [00:18:51] Speaker C: That would be strange for out of. [00:18:52] Speaker I: Character isn't he like the God of like lies and Secrets or something? [00:18:57] Speaker F: The God of thieves, assassins, murderers and spies? [00:19:02] Speaker E: I know nothing about that. [00:19:05] Speaker F: Oh, boy. [00:19:06] Speaker E: That's not Silver's God. But I feel like there's going to. [00:19:10] Speaker F: Be a point where Temit is crying while he slides a rapier into silver's heart. Like, you made me do this. [00:19:18] Speaker E: No, silver is not inherently evil at. [00:19:21] Speaker F: All, just amor evil. So I'm going to roll on Norberger. [00:19:27] Speaker B: Yeah, go ahead. [00:19:28] Speaker F: So that 28 knowledge, religion. [00:19:32] Speaker B: So you know that they are the deity of. [00:19:37] Speaker F: I can tell you everything that I know about it. [00:19:40] Speaker B: Go ahead. Yeah, you know the Wiki page. [00:19:43] Speaker F: So temed says something like, Norberger. Pretty evil deity. It's all about secrets, thievery, assassins. Fun fact about him, actually. He gained Godhood the same way that our beloved Cadencalian did by the test of the Starzone. But he's the only evil deity amongst the ascended. It's interesting. But anyways, something about her keeping secrets and gaining knowledge seems right for her to be worshipping Norburger. [00:20:07] Speaker B: Surreya. You find a letter? [00:20:08] Speaker C: Yes. [00:20:09] Speaker B: It says, dear Miss Lorraine, the Scarlet Triad would be happy to sponsor your finding of two guilds. I think that an assassin's guild in your town has been due for quite some time. Using the bloody blades that you have located, we feel that the training and establishment of this group is ready and good to go. As for the funds to start a necromantic laboratory in the basement of the abandoned citadel, we again feel that this could be a lucrative joint venture between the Triad and yourself. We would be happy to pay whatever is needed to start this endeavor. However, before we start our patronage and provide you the necessary support, you must first confirm the existence of Estella's ring. We have had others promise that they themselves have found wonderful treasures such as this before, when they have either faked its authenticity or the item or items that they have found were not what they thought them to be. Once the site has been located, it also must be secured so that no others can utilize this amazing find. Lastly, you will need to find a way to activate and utilize as many of the portals as possible. Once you send word of the completion of this and can prove it to us, we will provide you what you need to establish both the guilds and the laboratory, as well as a stipend of 30 gold a month. Thank you for all of your work. Lassoon. L-A-S-L-U-N-N. Lastlin. [00:21:38] Speaker C: Lastlin. [00:21:39] Speaker B: Lasslin. Thank you. [00:21:40] Speaker E: Can I do some recall knowledge on. [00:21:42] Speaker D: Some of that said scarlet Triad. [00:21:45] Speaker B: I did. [00:21:45] Speaker C: I'd like to do recall knowledge on that as well. [00:21:47] Speaker D: I'd like to amend something I said previously. [00:21:51] Speaker B: Sure. [00:21:52] Speaker D: So we found that circle with three triangles on it. Originally, I thought that was the Cinderclaw symbol because it looked like a little cobalt foot, but it's red and there's three triangles, right? So now I think it's the Scarlet triad. [00:22:06] Speaker C: Please. [00:22:07] Speaker B: If you want to try and figure out anything from that, make a society check. [00:22:11] Speaker H: Would breach allure help? No, never mind. [00:22:14] Speaker B: I'm sorry. You can do it. Untrained. 319. [00:22:21] Speaker E: Seven natural, 20 natural, 20 natural 2013 total of 30. [00:22:30] Speaker B: All right. You know that the Scarlet Triad is a minor merchants guild based in Katapesh, far to the south. [00:22:38] Speaker E: Well, this is curious. All my knowledge about that Scarlet Triad is that they're a small merchants guild. But according to that letter there, it looks a little suss of that. Maybe it's a front for some sort of nefarious operations of some kind. Now, I don't know much about assassinating people. That ain't my forte, but I'm very curious as to why they would want to care so much about a small town like Breach hill. Assassins Guild. How big is Breach Hill? Like, 1200 people. I mean, it's not that big, but. [00:23:09] Speaker F: It'S close enough to this area, which might be close to that ayudara. I don't know, it might be still the support. [00:23:16] Speaker C: It's that something about, like, two guilds. [00:23:18] Speaker E: Yeah, two guilds. [00:23:20] Speaker D: Two guilds. I thought it was Assassin's guild. [00:23:21] Speaker E: And her necromantic laboratory, which they willing to pay for if she shows them where the we can. We got somebody who knows all about this hog tide right over there. [00:23:32] Speaker C: That's exactly why we didn't want her dead. [00:23:35] Speaker E: Well, let's see here. Timid and our champion over here. Why don't the three of us step out while they ask her some questions? [00:23:43] Speaker F: Why don't I try? [00:23:45] Speaker C: Why? [00:23:45] Speaker F: Because I think he was saying they're going to torture her. [00:23:49] Speaker E: I could see it happening. And I want to spare your feelings. [00:23:52] Speaker F: How about we just discuss it with them, with her for a little bit, and see if we can change her mind? I am quite the charming liar. [00:24:00] Speaker D: Also, I'd like to go back to. I'm not sure if you think I'm going to torture someone because I'm a shawanti, if this is coming up. [00:24:05] Speaker E: Oh, I wasn't necessarily referring to you. [00:24:08] Speaker D: But you said Brienna Temit, and you should leave. Leaving me behind because you think we're going to torture somebody? [00:24:13] Speaker E: Yeah, you, her and me. [00:24:15] Speaker I: I'm too tired to torture anyone right now, so it's got to be you. [00:24:18] Speaker C: Very confused. All right, well, anyway, he's an old man. [00:24:21] Speaker I: Leave him alone. [00:24:23] Speaker C: Let's talk to her. [00:24:25] Speaker I: Yeah, we could bring her back also to jail or something. [00:24:28] Speaker D: I think that's a great idea. [00:24:29] Speaker C: To bring her back. [00:24:30] Speaker D: That's a better idea once we finish clearing out this. [00:24:33] Speaker I: She's a spellcaster. I don't know if a jail could hold her. [00:24:37] Speaker F: But I do agree we should try to get as much information from her as possible here and then bring her to jail where maybe they can get more information from her. But it's certainly worth a try to get some information from her now. [00:24:49] Speaker I: How far from Breechill are we again? [00:24:50] Speaker D: Like 90 minutes. [00:24:51] Speaker B: 90 minutes? [00:24:52] Speaker I: Yeah, I go back and get like a cart because we have so many, Cap. [00:24:54] Speaker F: Yes, we really do. [00:24:56] Speaker E: I want to try corpses. Explore. Sean, the other part of the cavern that she was running towards. [00:25:02] Speaker F: When he sees you, Temad's going to say, let's go. [00:25:04] Speaker E: Come with me, Temad. [00:25:05] Speaker B: So you both start walking down that pathway. [00:25:08] Speaker I: Did we search through this like tent? [00:25:09] Speaker C: No, that was my next plan. [00:25:10] Speaker B: Okay, you find a bedroll, some rations, half burnt candles. Nothing really of value in here other than the note and the journal that you already have. [00:25:23] Speaker C: Well, should we talk to her? [00:25:24] Speaker D: Might as well. [00:25:25] Speaker I: Yeah. Okay, whatever. [00:25:26] Speaker D: I think Brianna. If there's two I've left, you're the only one with any kind of medical knowledge to bring her conscious. [00:25:31] Speaker H: I guess I have to roll a medicine check in order to, I don't know, put smelling salts up her nose. [00:25:37] Speaker B: I'm going to say you can wake her up. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Okay. [00:25:40] Speaker B: You kill her. [00:25:41] Speaker F: No. [00:25:41] Speaker B: Oh no. [00:25:43] Speaker F: The way you roll, you probably did. [00:25:44] Speaker B: Like natural 2700 points of damage. So you wake her up. She has like one hit point. [00:25:51] Speaker C: Take the gaga. [00:25:53] Speaker H: Not quite yet. [00:25:54] Speaker C: I mean, we have questions for her, don't we? [00:25:56] Speaker H: I think we should ask the questions before we allow her to speak. [00:26:00] Speaker B: She's eating. [00:26:01] Speaker H: Good morning. [00:26:02] Speaker B: She's eating it. [00:26:04] Speaker H: You've had quite a runaround, haven't you? So now that you don't have much of a choice but to talk to us, why don't you tell us exactly what you were planning to do. We have your journal. We have pretty much everything. So might as well fill in some gaps if that's. [00:26:22] Speaker D: I'm gonna. Twin Talon will put his hand nicely. Pull the gag slightly tighter from behind when she starts basically being a smart ass. [00:26:30] Speaker E: Hi. [00:26:31] Speaker D: So I'm gonna remove your gag. And you're gonna answer a friend. [00:26:34] Speaker E: Here's questions. [00:26:35] Speaker D: And while she has lots of qualms about hurting people who are tied up, I hold no such beliefs. [00:26:41] Speaker C: I also have a crow that rather likes eyes. [00:26:45] Speaker D: If you try anything, like spell casting or anything untoward, it'll be the last thing you do. I just need you to nod if you understand me. [00:26:53] Speaker B: She nods. [00:26:53] Speaker D: Okay, then. Twin Talon will remove the gang. [00:26:56] Speaker B: What's your reflex bonus? [00:26:57] Speaker D: Plus 1021. [00:27:00] Speaker B: She bites you as you go to pull out the rope for one point of damage. [00:27:03] Speaker I: Not the only one that was hungry. [00:27:05] Speaker F: Well, I would like to express that maybe what he just said could have been possibly an intimidation check. And part of that's called coercing and could make her more. [00:27:16] Speaker B: Adjust her. [00:27:17] Speaker F: Adjust her opinion of us for a short period of time. [00:27:20] Speaker B: Okay. [00:27:22] Speaker F: Rather than have her bite him immediately. [00:27:23] Speaker B: Maybe go ahead and make a roll for me, twin Talon. Okay, I'll let you get this one by Anwar this time. [00:27:32] Speaker D: 17. [00:27:33] Speaker B: So she doesn't bite you. [00:27:35] Speaker D: Okay. [00:27:35] Speaker B: She just glares at you. [00:27:37] Speaker D: That's fine. [00:27:37] Speaker F: This is 1 minute of conversation, though. I figure him saying all those things about threatening her was one. [00:27:41] Speaker B: Yeah, that works. Just so you guys know, silver and temid as you are walking. It is a long walk. And it's just a twisting cavern. And as you're continuing down this twisting cavern, you start seeing dead spiders and giant centipedes. [00:27:56] Speaker F: Silver, this is getting a little bit too dangerous. We should head back. [00:28:00] Speaker E: Let me stop you there. [00:28:01] Speaker F: You agree with me. Let's go. [00:28:02] Speaker B: No. [00:28:02] Speaker F: Just starting. [00:28:03] Speaker D: Timid. You're a worshiper of Kaden Kalyn, right? [00:28:06] Speaker F: Yes, I am. [00:28:07] Speaker E: Now, did Kaden Kalyn ever deny himself a bet? [00:28:12] Speaker F: He did. Like to wager a little bit, but. [00:28:14] Speaker E: Well, I wager that the two of us can get down here and get back and see what's here without any trouble. Whatso at all. Drinks on me. [00:28:24] Speaker B: All right, so you guys are going. [00:28:25] Speaker F: To keep diplomacy against my will. DC. Thank you. [00:28:30] Speaker B: All right, let's do some opposed role. [00:28:32] Speaker F: I just don't want to do this. But I can't see a reason for it. [00:28:34] Speaker E: It's all in character. I know it's not. Metagating is not the smartest idea, but it's against 21. [00:28:41] Speaker D: It would be the request. [00:28:42] Speaker E: Action 21. Exactly. [00:28:45] Speaker F: Okay. [00:28:46] Speaker D: The target agrees to your request. But they might demand added provisions or alterations to the request. [00:28:52] Speaker F: We can do this. But only if you. Thank you for that, by the way. Only for the next 30 seconds. [00:29:01] Speaker B: 30 seconds. Wow. [00:29:04] Speaker F: Five rounds. I think we could. [00:29:05] Speaker E: How about this. If something goes real sour, I can make sure you get out of this, no problem. [00:29:10] Speaker F: I'd like to make sure both of us get out of this. [00:29:12] Speaker E: I can do that, too. [00:29:13] Speaker F: Do you have some type of teleportation spell? [00:29:15] Speaker E: Nah. [00:29:16] Speaker F: Then let's head back. [00:29:17] Speaker E: No. They just won't be able to see us. You're welcome, Sean. [00:29:23] Speaker F: All right. [00:29:24] Speaker E: Do you want us to not be able to see us right now? [00:29:27] Speaker F: I would prefer that, yes. [00:29:28] Speaker E: All right, fine. So I'll tap both you and me, and we both turn invisible. [00:29:31] Speaker F: Okay? I'm okay with it for now. [00:29:33] Speaker B: All right, so you guys keep walking. [00:29:35] Speaker D: Meanwhile, back at the ranch. [00:29:38] Speaker B: Meanwhile, our super friends, she is looking at you. Brianna. You have my journal. You know exactly what I'm doing here. [00:29:47] Speaker H: I want to hear it from your labor. [00:29:48] Speaker B: I'm looking for the ayudara. [00:29:50] Speaker C: Yes, but you don't want them for yourself, so why do you need the help of the Crimson triad? Crimson Triad? [00:29:57] Speaker B: Do you know how expensive it is to start a laboratory? [00:30:00] Speaker D: I think you're mispronouncing laboratory. [00:30:02] Speaker B: Laboratory. [00:30:03] Speaker E: I don't think that's it. [00:30:04] Speaker B: Laboratory. [00:30:05] Speaker H: It's the chillaxian pronunciation. [00:30:08] Speaker C: You're part also, aren't you? Spend a couple hundred years, you'll be fine. Just like I am up in a fucking cave. [00:30:12] Speaker B: Whoa. I want a nicer place than that hovel you call a home. [00:30:17] Speaker C: Oh, you've clearly never been there, dear. It's much better than whatever you're going to set up here. [00:30:21] Speaker I: You're going to sell the secrets of our people to someone in catapesh? [00:30:25] Speaker B: Yes, for the right amount. [00:30:26] Speaker I: You should be ashamed of yourself. [00:30:28] Speaker B: So should you. [00:30:29] Speaker I: Look at yourself. Is that a personal insult? [00:30:31] Speaker B: Yes. [00:30:34] Speaker E: I'm not going to stop you. [00:30:37] Speaker I: I'm still fatigued. [00:30:38] Speaker F: He starts dragging himself. [00:30:42] Speaker D: It's like weekly Quintelon will be dragging her across the floor, like, at the same rate that you're dragging yourself toward hiding you around the room. [00:30:52] Speaker I: You're lucky I used up all of my strength earlier. Killing you. [00:30:57] Speaker B: Doesn't seem like you had that much to begin with then, if you had to use it all to strike down someone like me. [00:31:03] Speaker H: Don't listen to her. You know she's just trying to get her eyes out of here, since she knows she's not going to get out of here alive anyway. Or have her laboratory, as she says. [00:31:11] Speaker I: I'm going to let my friends talk to you, and then I'm going to finish the job. [00:31:15] Speaker D: Are you familiar with tixitog venom? [00:31:19] Speaker B: They don't seem to have venom. [00:31:21] Speaker D: Oh, I know that. [00:31:22] Speaker B: Okay. I was going to say, let me make a quick roll for her because she is fairly intelligent. No. [00:31:30] Speaker C: Serra holds up a bottle with a smile. [00:31:33] Speaker D: So I want to go back and reintroduce myself. My name is twin Talon. I murder people with poison. This is Soraya. She makes poison for me to murder people with. Now, with a fresh, live body in the other room, she very easily extracted the poison glands. And while you were asleep, I injected you with that poison. Now, this is slow acting, so in about ten to 15 minutes, you're going to feel some tightness. You might not notice it with the ropes. After that, a complete paralysis until your cardiovascular system actually is too weak to pump blood throughout your body. It is a long, excruciating death, which you will be awake for. However, we have the antidote. So you can continue to be cagey and not answer our questions, or you can take the easy way out and just answer my friend's questions, which is a lot less painful than what you're going to experience. [00:32:18] Speaker B: Please give me a bluff. [00:32:20] Speaker C: Check. [00:32:24] Speaker D: 22. [00:32:25] Speaker B: All right. We'll see what happens. [00:32:27] Speaker C: Can I technically assist with that? [00:32:29] Speaker B: Not now. [00:32:30] Speaker C: Okay, well, because I was the one holding up. [00:32:32] Speaker B: Oh, you were talking. All right, so plus you have to make a 20. Yeah, 15. No, not enough. All right. [00:32:40] Speaker C: Yeah, that was a flat die. I don't know what I would have been using. [00:32:44] Speaker D: It probably would have been the same thing. Deception. [00:32:46] Speaker C: Yeah, it's plus seven, so it'd be a 22. [00:32:48] Speaker B: All right, so that's enough to add another one. [00:32:50] Speaker D: One. [00:32:52] Speaker B: Give me the antidote and I'll talk. [00:32:56] Speaker D: Here's the thing like that. We already have your journal. We're just looking for you to fill in some blanks. At the end of the day, you need to live more than we need you to talk. But we're willing to make a trade. That's all I'm going to say. I'm going to let Brianna do the talking. [00:33:09] Speaker H: I clearly do not have a handle on this talking. I need to step away now and she'll just go into the other room. [00:33:17] Speaker B: All right, take a breather. [00:33:19] Speaker H: You go ahead. [00:33:20] Speaker B: After threatening her. [00:33:22] Speaker D: Oh, man. Looks like you're going to die. [00:33:24] Speaker B: I'll let you guys think about what's going to be said as I cut back to the other two. You are still wandering. And it's getting darker and darker. [00:33:33] Speaker F: I just realized, though, that we have light. [00:33:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:33:37] Speaker F: And then it doesn't make sense. [00:33:40] Speaker B: You're invisible, but the light's still there. [00:33:42] Speaker F: Right, but it's obviously something's like strolling down the hallway, right? [00:33:46] Speaker B: Yes. And you start seeing the dead spiders make way to alive spiders that are scurrying away from the light. And the dead giant centipedes make way to not so dead giant centipedes that are also scurrying away from the light. [00:34:09] Speaker F: Silver, this has gone long enough. We're heading back. [00:34:12] Speaker E: All right, well, we're going to have to come back here with everybody else. [00:34:15] Speaker F: Yes, I agree. Something is going on here. However, this is getting a little bit too dangerous for just two of us. I'd like to make sure that both of us get back all right. [00:34:23] Speaker E: I speak what these things normally speak. I mean, these things probably can't speak. [00:34:27] Speaker F: I mean, that's fine. Let's go. [00:34:30] Speaker E: All right, but let's. [00:34:33] Speaker F: Okay. Come on. Good job. Good talk. Let's go. [00:34:37] Speaker I: All right. [00:34:37] Speaker E: There's still some. [00:34:39] Speaker F: It's okay, old man. Let's go. [00:34:41] Speaker E: My curiosity is. [00:34:43] Speaker F: Your curiosity is going to kill both of us. Let's go. [00:34:45] Speaker E: All right. Well, all right. [00:34:48] Speaker F: Good man. Good man. I like. Come on, we're buddies. Let's go have a drink. Look, I got some air. Let's go. All right. We're good. Thank you. All right. Tasty, isn't it? [00:34:59] Speaker C: Shove some beer down his throat. [00:35:01] Speaker F: Yes, I did. [00:35:03] Speaker B: All right, now we cut back to the interrogation. [00:35:07] Speaker C: Tell me, my dear, where are you from? [00:35:09] Speaker B: Here, Rachel. This backwater town. [00:35:13] Speaker C: In your other journal that I believe we found in your bookshop, you speak of it so hatefully. Why is that? [00:35:19] Speaker B: How long have you been here? [00:35:21] Speaker C: Longer than you. [00:35:22] Speaker B: Argue? [00:35:23] Speaker C: Both. Can I make a roll? [00:35:25] Speaker B: See how old she is? Sure. [00:35:27] Speaker C: What would that be? [00:35:28] Speaker F: You count the rings in her ears. [00:35:31] Speaker I: Elflore. [00:35:32] Speaker C: Don't be racist. [00:35:33] Speaker B: Yes. Society 17. She's probably middle to middle aged to old. [00:35:44] Speaker F: How many years is that? [00:35:44] Speaker B: I don't know. It's an elf. [00:35:46] Speaker F: I know. That's why I'm asking you. I wanted to expose your lies. [00:35:49] Speaker E: 200 or something. [00:35:52] Speaker D: It's a half elf. [00:35:53] Speaker C: She's a half elf. So she wouldn't be. [00:35:54] Speaker B: No, she died, like, 100 years ago. [00:35:57] Speaker F: Okay, never mind. [00:35:58] Speaker C: That's what I thought when we were. [00:36:00] Speaker B: My bad. [00:36:01] Speaker C: I thought I heard half. [00:36:02] Speaker I: Someone said it, but it wasn't right. [00:36:04] Speaker D: And we all just went with it. And Sean never corrected us. [00:36:07] Speaker B: You were listening to a spider creature that called it a human or an elf or something. A tixitog. [00:36:13] Speaker C: So then what's your history of the town? [00:36:14] Speaker B: I've been here since the second snowfall. In the town. I'm just tired of it. It's nothing. [00:36:19] Speaker C: So, do you ascribe to whatever ramblings were written there about how this is all just some kind of engineered social experiment? [00:36:26] Speaker B: I'm still researching that. I'm trying to find the real answers. [00:36:31] Speaker C: So, if you've been here since the second snowfall, you truly believe that this wasn't just founded by the people who are here? Or were here? [00:36:37] Speaker B: No. There's too much coincidence. [00:36:40] Speaker C: Go on. [00:36:41] Speaker B: Do you believe everything they feed you? [00:36:43] Speaker C: Do you really think I would have left my own land if I believed everything everyone fed me? But come on now. What's so odd? [00:36:49] Speaker B: It's just too convenient. The location. But where it's fallen. With such uprisings around the town, with the goblin blood wars and the river and the shipping lines happening to run through such a peaceful little town. There's very little crime. It's too clean, too polished. [00:37:09] Speaker C: And so your conclusion is that there's no free will? [00:37:12] Speaker B: Yes. [00:37:13] Speaker C: Is that why you want to destroy it all? To prove that you have free will? [00:37:16] Speaker B: I want to destroy it because it's fake. It's a false flag. It's not real. [00:37:22] Speaker C: And somehow finding the rings is going to help you do that? [00:37:26] Speaker B: Correct. [00:37:27] Speaker C: Go on. [00:37:28] Speaker B: It will prove that this was placed here on purpose to keep people in or out of the Ayudar. [00:37:35] Speaker C: I'm sorry. You're arguing that this one tiny town was put here to prevent people from going through the ayutar? [00:37:42] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:37:43] Speaker E: How would that work? [00:37:44] Speaker D: I mean, the Ayudor is not in the town. [00:37:46] Speaker B: It's close enough. If you were to want to build something and keep it hidden, would you put it directly on top? [00:37:53] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:37:53] Speaker B: That's foolish. People would be there. They would stumble into it. [00:37:56] Speaker I: How did your monkey and frog friends get here? [00:37:59] Speaker B: They're not my friends. I don't know what you're talking about. [00:38:02] Speaker I: I don't believe you. Your little citadel there was full of frogs and monkeys and birds from the Moangi expanse. [00:38:09] Speaker B: I don't know what you're talking about. [00:38:10] Speaker I: They're using the ayodara, you idiot. [00:38:13] Speaker B: That's impossible. You need a key to operate it. [00:38:15] Speaker I: Explain, then, how some monkeys traveled thousands of miles just to die here by foot. [00:38:21] Speaker D: So, while she's talking, while they're talking, twin Talon is going to use stealth. [00:38:26] Speaker B: Okay. [00:38:27] Speaker D: I rolled a 25. [00:38:29] Speaker B: Okay? [00:38:30] Speaker D: And I'm going to very subtly twist the rope so it feels like her arms are, like, tightening up. [00:38:35] Speaker B: Okay? You see some panic flash in her eyes at that point. You see silver and timid bumbling through the tunnel, coming back towards where you guys are. [00:38:47] Speaker E: Shaggy and Scooby, all I'm saying. [00:38:50] Speaker F: All right. Take another sip. That's it. [00:38:53] Speaker H: All right. [00:38:53] Speaker F: I'm giving you some of the good stuff, too. It's not just the regular. [00:38:56] Speaker E: I appreciate it. [00:38:57] Speaker F: It's just. All right, now I have a seat here. You look like you're tired. [00:39:00] Speaker E: We got to go. [00:39:01] Speaker F: He takes his cane away from him so he can't walk away. And then he kind of uses the cane to walk a little bit. What have I missed? [00:39:10] Speaker E: Did they torture them like I thought they were? [00:39:13] Speaker F: No. [00:39:14] Speaker E: Hey, elf lady. Did they torture you? [00:39:17] Speaker B: How are you still alive? [00:39:19] Speaker E: How am I alive? Well, hell, don't get him. [00:39:23] Speaker I: Please. [00:39:24] Speaker E: How much time we got? I once want to bet with death. [00:39:28] Speaker B: I have given you all of the information that I have. You've looted everything of mine. I want that antidote and I want to go on my way. [00:39:37] Speaker F: Antidote? What do you mean, antidote? [00:39:39] Speaker C: Where's the guardians? [00:39:40] Speaker E: Wait, are you telling me that they did end up torturing you? And I said something, and people gave me shade for it, like I was speaking like a crazy person. And then I walk away, and then the next thing that happens is that you actually start torturing them. [00:39:55] Speaker F: I had to give him quite a lot of beer in order to get him to. [00:39:58] Speaker E: I'm a little drunk. [00:39:59] Speaker F: All right, old man, take a nap. Okay. [00:40:02] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:40:02] Speaker F: And then he kind of lies him down and he starts patting him on the side of his head. Yes. [00:40:06] Speaker I: So our buddy twin Talon here gave her some poison and she's going to die unless she tells us what we want to know. [00:40:13] Speaker E: What? [00:40:18] Speaker I: Yeah, he said he's good at it. He does it all the time. [00:40:21] Speaker F: I didn't know that. [00:40:22] Speaker D: But did she insult you? [00:40:25] Speaker B: I mean, I'm surprised you're in the guardian's way. [00:40:29] Speaker F: We're in the guardian's way. Is this the passageway? [00:40:32] Speaker B: This is the guardian's way. The structures outside are the guardian's way. This is a cave behind it. [00:40:40] Speaker D: So where's the ayadara that you thought was here? [00:40:43] Speaker B: I don't know. Obviously, I missed them. Or can't find them. [00:40:48] Speaker F: Twin, we did see quite a lot of odd behavior by various animals in the cave behind us in the tunnel there. [00:40:57] Speaker B: I've only managed to get a little bit into there. I did manage to kill quite a number of spiders, but then that woman chased me out. [00:41:07] Speaker F: Which woman? [00:41:08] Speaker B: The one that seemed to control spiders as easily as I could control my undead. [00:41:14] Speaker C: What does she look like? [00:41:15] Speaker B: She has long black hair and dark charcoal skin. [00:41:22] Speaker F: I don't know if anyone else would like to join me? But maybe like a society check to see if that sounds familiar. [00:41:26] Speaker E: Kind of society check. Or lore. [00:41:28] Speaker B: Lore. Society. Recall. Knowledge society. Yeah. Cool. [00:41:33] Speaker F: 14, 710. 24. [00:41:37] Speaker B: 24. It sounds like a person who lives in a cave. [00:41:41] Speaker E: Drow. No drow. [00:41:44] Speaker F: Is there an ethnicity or something that we're. Ancestry that we're. [00:41:47] Speaker B: Maybe. But it's such a vague description that it's hard to pinpoint exactly what it is. [00:41:54] Speaker F: And she looks and appears to be human. Yet she controls spiders, is what you're saying? [00:41:59] Speaker B: Yes. Am I using words that are too large for you? [00:42:02] Speaker C: Perhaps a druid? [00:42:03] Speaker B: Should I slow down when I talk? [00:42:06] Speaker F: Oh, she's alive one, isn't she? [00:42:08] Speaker I: Yeah, she's growing. [00:42:10] Speaker D: Not for long. [00:42:11] Speaker F: Have a beer. I hear it slows down your heartbeat. [00:42:13] Speaker I: She had to make a bunch of skeletons so she could have friends. [00:42:18] Speaker E: You know what? I am not surprised someone like her has trouble making France. [00:42:24] Speaker B: I'm surprised someone as frail as you is still alive. [00:42:27] Speaker E: You know, you and me both, girl. Let me tell you. [00:42:33] Speaker D: Do we think we're done? [00:42:35] Speaker F: I think we have what we need from her. We know where we need to go. [00:42:38] Speaker D: Okay, then let me inoculate you. And he will lean down, whisper in her ear, six of dogs don't have poison glands. And then he will what? Smack her in the back of the head? [00:42:47] Speaker B: She goes out like a light. [00:42:49] Speaker E: Wow. [00:42:50] Speaker I: That was pretty convincing. Good job. [00:42:53] Speaker F: Thank you. Look like you poison people all the time. [00:42:55] Speaker D: I really am very inexperienced with poison. [00:42:59] Speaker F: Recently. It's not like it happened recently or anything. [00:43:01] Speaker D: No, I find the concept interesting, especially since I've been talking about it, but. [00:43:06] Speaker F: Well, for a first time effort, this is actually pretty amazing. [00:43:09] Speaker C: That was more intimidating than anything. There is no, it was tick to talk. Poison there aren't poisonous. [00:43:14] Speaker B: Right. [00:43:14] Speaker F: But you play the role so well, it seemed like you'd done it many times before. [00:43:18] Speaker I: You weren't even here. Here's the question. [00:43:22] Speaker B: I just wanted to be a part of the conversation. You weren't here. [00:43:24] Speaker D: You were getting drunk. [00:43:26] Speaker B: I did that with a bunch of spiders. [00:43:28] Speaker F: I drank. And Temit says I drank just as much as silver did. But come on, I can drink a lot more than that and be totally. [00:43:34] Speaker E: I am like an old man who's very frail. Should we rest? [00:43:40] Speaker I: Well, here's. I was thinking. We're so close to Breech Hill. We have to get these prisoners there soon or they'll escape and cause havoc and probably come kill us when we're sleeping or something. [00:43:51] Speaker C: I think bringing them in, perhaps taking a night's rest while we're there. [00:43:54] Speaker E: You're so smart. [00:43:55] Speaker F: Good. [00:43:55] Speaker D: Grace, twins. Allen will go find wherever Brianna got to. [00:44:01] Speaker H: Since Brianna wasn't needed, she probably ended up back at the camp just securing live prisoners. [00:44:07] Speaker B: You had, like, three live people. One. Three. Three. [00:44:11] Speaker D: Yeah, four. [00:44:11] Speaker B: Four live, I think. [00:44:13] Speaker F: Seven. [00:44:14] Speaker B: You had three, and then we had two. [00:44:18] Speaker I: She brought one plus one. [00:44:19] Speaker D: No, we had one plus two. Plus two. We only had. [00:44:23] Speaker F: We had the leader and two more. [00:44:25] Speaker B: Right. [00:44:25] Speaker F: We had a leader and two more. And then we had one more from. [00:44:28] Speaker B: So all of the people that were outside are kind of groggily coming to from being knocked out and whatnot. [00:44:36] Speaker H: They're all tied together essentially, for easier. [00:44:39] Speaker D: Transport so they can conga. [00:44:41] Speaker I: So I guess we could just make them walk back. [00:44:44] Speaker D: We still have a bunch of dead bodies we have to take back, right? [00:44:46] Speaker H: No, we can take back their insignia. [00:44:49] Speaker B: As long as you bring back proof. Okay. [00:44:53] Speaker F: I feel like silver walks up and starts trying to take an ear off or something. It's just like. [00:44:57] Speaker E: It's the only way we know. [00:45:00] Speaker H: Wait, I can take a picture with my. [00:45:02] Speaker F: Sorry, your eyes? [00:45:05] Speaker H: Yes. [00:45:06] Speaker C: My eyes take pictures. [00:45:07] Speaker F: Yes. It's called a memory. [00:45:10] Speaker B: You guys round up all the ones that are still alive, including vase. You grab the insignias of the deceased ones, and you take your two hour walk back to Breech hill. Upon your return, the guards meet you and take the alive ones and put them off to jail. And vase is kept and taken to the head of the council. [00:45:35] Speaker D: We'll make sure to tell them that she's a spellcaster to take extra careful. [00:45:40] Speaker B: Greta Gardenia comes out and greets you, and you are all paid the reward of five gold per insignia you turned in and ten gold per live capture. You got plus 50 gold for the leader. [00:45:55] Speaker D: So 30, plus 15, plus 50, 95. [00:46:00] Speaker B: And then you get another 20 gold for bringing Vase back alive. [00:46:04] Speaker F: So she's only worth twice that of a common thug. [00:46:08] Speaker B: Well, so the leader of the common thugs run. A bunch of common thugs. Vase is just a local town problem. [00:46:16] Speaker I: All right, so that's what, 115. [00:46:19] Speaker H: 115 divided by six. So 20. [00:46:23] Speaker F: Wait, can we negotiate five more so we can make it an even 20 each? [00:46:26] Speaker B: Sure. You each have get 20 gold out of all of us. [00:46:29] Speaker F: No math after that. [00:46:30] Speaker B: It's about 07:00 at night after everything you guys have gone through. So you can rest or go back to the caves and continue your search. [00:46:38] Speaker E: I think we need to keep drinking. [00:46:41] Speaker F: I like your ideas. [00:46:42] Speaker I: Yes, that's a good idea. [00:46:43] Speaker F: All right, let's go to the tavern. [00:46:44] Speaker I: Let's go to your tavern. [00:46:46] Speaker F: Yeah, I was going to say let's go to cadence keg. [00:46:48] Speaker I: The other one was pretty bad. [00:46:50] Speaker F: I know, I tried to tell you guys that and then you had to do an arm wrestling match. Just. It's a stupid place. Let's go to cadence keg. [00:46:56] Speaker B: All right, so you guys head to Cadence keg and you spend the rest of the evening. [00:47:00] Speaker F: I restart on as much ale as. [00:47:02] Speaker B: Possible, celebrating and gallivanting. However, you all have also leveled up to four, so let's talk about your level ups. Matt, what happens to twin Talon at level four? [00:47:14] Speaker D: So as a rogue, I get a skill increase and a skill feat at every level. So for level four skill increase, I took acrobatics. That'll enhance my catfall. So now I can fall up to 25ft without worrying about falling damage my skill feet. I took combat climber after that fight where I was climbing up ladders and stabbing people. I thought maybe he would do more of that at some point, who knows? But I like to take feats, especially when I'm not super sold on anything that make story sense. So what it does is it allows you to fight as you climb. You're not flat footed while climbing, and you can climb with a hand occupied. You must still use another hand and. [00:47:51] Speaker E: Both legs to climb. [00:47:52] Speaker D: So that's a neat little thing where you can climb with a sword in his hand, basically. And then my class feet. I think we all got class feet. This level is poison weapon. It allows me a number of times a day, equal to my level, to take an action to apply an injury poison to my weapon and it does an extra d four of damage, basically. [00:48:11] Speaker B: Cool. Teme, what happened to you at the next level? [00:48:14] Speaker F: Temed didn't get a lot as a cleric. Level four. However, he did get a class feat. I didn't particularly like the fourth level class feats, so I chose a first level class feed called healing hands. So I increased the die used for the heal spell from d eight s to d ten s. Then the general feat that I got was one called continual recovery. So the time between heal checks to treat wounds goes down from 60 minutes to ten minutes. It takes ten minutes and since the time is included within the cooldown time, I can basically just continually heal people back to back. [00:48:48] Speaker B: That's really helpful. [00:48:49] Speaker D: Very cool. [00:48:50] Speaker F: That combined with actually another feat that I got before, now I can do two people at the same time as well. So hopefully we can very quickly kind of heal up after battle. [00:48:58] Speaker B: Nice, Brianna. [00:48:59] Speaker H: Brianna also got a skill and a class feat her skill feat, I chose titan wrestler, which basically lets her attempt. [00:49:08] Speaker A: To disarm, grapple, shove, or trip creatures. [00:49:11] Speaker H: That are two slides larger than her. Eh, she's done that a couple times. She had a taste for it. Why the heck not? And the other one I will wait till a story moment to reveal. [00:49:20] Speaker B: Sounds good. [00:49:20] Speaker I: Pond watcher, he got a skill feat, and I chose hefty hauler so I can carry more stuff, which is not that interesting but is useful. And his class feat is raging athlete, which basically means he jumps farther and higher. And when he rages, he has a climb speed and a swim speed equal to his normal speed. That is wicked. He's going to be going crazy and running around Sareia. [00:49:47] Speaker C: All right, so for her skill feet, she just bumped up her archen. She's now an expert in that as well as crafting. And for her class feet, she's now a quick bomber. [00:50:00] Speaker H: Nice. [00:50:01] Speaker C: She can draw and strike with a bomb in the same action. [00:50:07] Speaker B: That seems really helpful and useful. [00:50:09] Speaker D: Very cool. [00:50:10] Speaker C: I'm excited. [00:50:11] Speaker B: And silver. [00:50:12] Speaker E: Silver at level four gets a skill feat. I went with multilingual. Silver is just about knowing things. So I just learned a couple more languages, and I get a class feat. And the class feat I chose is called triple time. It allows me to play my music, and everyone dances in a jig and moves 10ft faster. [00:50:29] Speaker B: That's awesome. All right, we're going to end this session with you guys going to bed, getting some sleep, and we will see what happens to you next. [00:50:41] Speaker G: Now that all heroes are level four and have learned that there are more nefarious plots behind these attacks in Breach Hill, what will they learn? Where will they go? And will Silver and temid finally gain enough courage to continue down that long hallway? Find out the answers to these questions and more on the next episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
