[00:00:44] Speaker A: Of the cracked Die podcast. My name is Matt. I play twin Talon on the show. This is the second half of our remote recording, so as you probably realized last week, this recording's audio quality is not up to our usual standards. But we'll get back to that next week. I want to keep this pretty short, get into that. This is kind of a short episode as it is, but I want to take this time to let you know, to make sure you do not forget that it is less than a month until Valentine's Day, and nothing says I love you quite like some leggings from the crack Die podcast or some socks or a chibi mug with my face on it. You know what I'm saying? It'll test how strong your relationship really is. Anyway, enough about that. [00:01:35] Speaker B: Back to the show. [00:01:36] Speaker A: Episode 21 just my imagination previously on. [00:01:41] Speaker C: The Cracked Die podcast. Our heroes had a very colorful discussion about looting. We join them now, continuing exploring the rest of the basement of the abandoned citadel. What will they find? Are there more monsters? Find out now on the crat Die podcast. [00:02:05] Speaker D: Well, twin, I did point it out to you. [00:02:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll check out the door. I'll listen at it and then see if it's trapped, and then try to. [00:02:12] Speaker E: Go through your thievery or your. What is it called now? [00:02:18] Speaker D: Health. Or is it thievery? [00:02:20] Speaker B: What is what? Perception or thievery. [00:02:22] Speaker E: Which? Perception. Thank you. That's the word I was looking for. What is your bonus? [00:02:27] Speaker B: Plus seven to perception. [00:02:29] Speaker E: You don't hear anything on the other side? [00:02:32] Speaker B: Okay, if I don't hear anything, I will check it for traps and then proceed to open it stealthily. [00:02:37] Speaker E: And your thievery bonus to check for traps is plus eleven. Oh, wow. You are 100% sure there is not a single trap on this door? Okay. In fact, you are so sure, you put a trap there, disarm it yourself, and then tell everyone. [00:02:54] Speaker B: It seems like a ticket ignored about a tie. But it's fine. [00:02:56] Speaker F: Don't worry about it. All right. [00:02:58] Speaker E: You have a 31. [00:03:00] Speaker B: Okay. [00:03:02] Speaker D: I was going to say, that means he had the rolls real bad. Or 20. [00:03:05] Speaker E: Yeah. Narrow stone walls filled with coffin sized compartments stretch from the floor to the Ceiling. In this dark, claustrophobic chamber, most of the compartments are occupied with shroud covered bodies, though some of them are conspicuously empty. You see on the ground six skeletons that have obviously crumbled, as if whatever was holding them together was deactivated. [00:03:37] Speaker D: Well, I'm glad we did that. [00:03:41] Speaker G: Nice work. [00:03:42] Speaker F: I'll detect magic throughout this room. [00:03:45] Speaker G: What you guys did doesn't count as grave robbing. Even though you defaced someone's grave, you. [00:03:51] Speaker E: Do detect on one of the skeletons, you see that they are covered in what can only be described as hell knight armor. But it is rusted and falling apart with large red pauldrons and tattered red cloak that has the emblem of the nail on it. You're detecting magic from that cloak? From that creature? [00:04:21] Speaker F: From the creature itself, yes. I'll point out. To point out that that creature over there is emanating magic. Not sure if it's the creature itself or something wearing it. So be cautious, everybody. And I'll point it out to Soraya and Brienna. [00:04:45] Speaker E: Twin talon walks up to the skeleton. What do you do? [00:04:51] Speaker B: I'm actually moving to the opposite side of it. I'm going to step over it. [00:04:54] Speaker E: All right. [00:04:55] Speaker B: See if it grabs me. [00:04:56] Speaker D: I'm going to say skeleton needs your ankle. [00:05:00] Speaker B: Okay, then I'll wait for someone else to. Else is doing something. [00:05:04] Speaker E: Brienna, what are you doing? [00:05:07] Speaker H: I will poke it with my scimitar, see what happens. I don't want to necessarily do an attack. [00:05:14] Speaker E: Like so. It's face down. So you flip it face up, I'm assuming? [00:05:19] Speaker D: Yes. [00:05:19] Speaker E: Cool. As you flip it face up, the gall rolls away from it and you see that there is a wand in its. [00:05:31] Speaker D: Oh. [00:05:32] Speaker H: Brienna will look back at silver and say, is this what perhaps is emanating magic instead of the actual skeleton? [00:05:42] Speaker F: All right, let me see it. [00:05:43] Speaker G: Let me see no one take it. It's too disrespectful to take it. [00:05:48] Speaker F: He's right. I don't know if it would be right for us to take this skeleton's wand that he clearly died with. [00:05:59] Speaker D: This is a conversation that's never going to go away. [00:06:03] Speaker H: It's never going to want to stab. [00:06:07] Speaker F: I have Arcada plus six, Sean. [00:06:09] Speaker E: Okay. Arcana plus six. [00:06:11] Speaker F: And if I fail a skill check, let me know. I can. I can use a focus point to reroll it and choose the higher result. [00:06:21] Speaker E: You find that it is a wand of heel. First level. [00:06:27] Speaker F: I can actually use that. That's even better. It's frequency. [00:06:32] Speaker B: Once per day plus overcharge. You cast a heel spell at the indicated level. [00:06:36] Speaker F: Is it any heal spell at level one? [00:06:39] Speaker B: It's the heel spell. [00:06:40] Speaker F: Okay. Yeah, that's good. [00:06:43] Speaker D: Yeah, that is really cool. [00:06:44] Speaker B: You can overcharge it, which means you can use it a second time a day. But if you use it a second time, you roll a e 20. And if you get nine or lower, the wand basically breaks forever. [00:06:56] Speaker D: That's really cool. [00:06:58] Speaker E: I really like that. [00:06:59] Speaker D: Yeah, you can extend it. [00:07:00] Speaker H: There's a 50 50 shot. [00:07:01] Speaker D: He'll destroy it. [00:07:03] Speaker E: That's what you see in the ossuary. [00:07:05] Speaker D: There doesn't appear to be any threat. [00:07:07] Speaker E: No, doesn't seem to be any threat. As Brianna rolled over the skeleton, you see some gold fell out of its pockets as well. You find about twelve gold. [00:07:20] Speaker F: I'll pocket both of those. [00:07:23] Speaker H: Why do we see silver, like, barreling over? [00:07:26] Speaker D: I got this. [00:07:27] Speaker H: Don't worry. [00:07:29] Speaker D: Right. [00:07:29] Speaker F: Ron in a kingdom is expansive. I'll give the wand to Tamid when he comes back. Until now, I can use it. [00:07:41] Speaker D: I'm assuming none of you can see. As far as I can. So there was the larger room that's connected to this one back to our left. But there's another door here as well. I don't know if they would reconnect again or if they go off into separate directions. [00:07:58] Speaker F: Okay. [00:07:59] Speaker B: I mean, I can't see what you're looking at. [00:08:01] Speaker D: Okay, so yes, where I am standing, I'm looking down a hallway to our right at a door. But in the room up here, there is another door that goes off in this direction. [00:08:13] Speaker E: So there's the hallway you're in. There's a doorway at the end of the hallway is what she's pointing out. And then there is the other room to the north. [00:08:21] Speaker D: Yes. Brienna, if you would. Yes. There is this room up here. Do you see it now? [00:08:28] Speaker H: I do. [00:08:29] Speaker D: Yes. So there's all this. This I believe just leads right back to the hallway we were in. But there's this down here, all of this. [00:08:37] Speaker E: So as you walk that way, since everyone has gone up there. Along the southern wall here is a large relief carving of a sunburst made of nails. Instead of typical flagstones, the floor is made up of headstones with names and dates. Curiously, six of the headstones seem to be pried open to reveal empty graves inside. You also see six skeletons on the floor. [00:09:04] Speaker D: Did we skip a twelve skeleton fight by disabling those necromancy rooms? [00:09:09] Speaker F: Are they spooky skeletons? [00:09:10] Speaker E: Spooky, scary skeleton. Yeah, they're spooky and scary. [00:09:15] Speaker G: I can't believe someone came through here so disrespectfully. [00:09:19] Speaker H: You're never going to let that die, have you? [00:09:21] Speaker G: For much I follow Calistria. We don't care about that sort of stuff. [00:09:27] Speaker F: The gods I follow is a little bit more. No comment. [00:09:35] Speaker D: Wow. Okay, well, there's another door down at this end of the room. I'm not sure if you can see it. Or not. [00:09:41] Speaker B: No, you've disappeared into the darkness. [00:09:44] Speaker G: Where are you going? [00:09:45] Speaker D: Joins with your feeble. [00:09:52] Speaker B: Your fellow elf has the same eyes we do. [00:09:55] Speaker G: I have low light vision, thank you very much. [00:09:58] Speaker B: Okay. [00:09:59] Speaker E: Oh, you do have low light vision. [00:10:00] Speaker G: Yes, I said that many times. She's got dark vision. [00:10:06] Speaker E: It's much better. [00:10:08] Speaker D: I can see in the absence of light. He can see in, like, shitty light. [00:10:11] Speaker E: Right. [00:10:13] Speaker G: But I am also quite stupid, so. [00:10:14] Speaker B: Maybe that's why low light vision just removes concealment for dim light. It doesn't let you see any farther like it used to. [00:10:22] Speaker E: Oh, well, that's good. [00:10:24] Speaker D: Yeah. I mean, they don't seem to do vision distances anymore. Yes. At the far end of the room, where none of the rest of you can see, there is another door. [00:10:33] Speaker E: I love watching you guys inch down this hallway. [00:10:38] Speaker F: The jaws theme should be playing. [00:10:42] Speaker B: Can we make a left turn here? I'm guessing there's a room to our north, just like there was to the south. [00:10:47] Speaker E: No, there is not. [00:10:51] Speaker B: All right. [00:10:51] Speaker D: It's the door I'm standing right in front of. Who would like to? [00:10:54] Speaker G: I will open the door. [00:10:56] Speaker E: Okay, you open the door. The door slides open without any resistance. Rows of large metal and stone lockboxes line the winding walls of the storeroom, as do occasional shelves and what looks like filing cabinets intended for the storage of documents. The lockboxes hang a jar, having been opened and emptied long ago. A set of obvious tracks in the dusty floor suggest someone recently moved about in here. A pile of ashes and a few melted candle stubs lie atop a low table in the center of the room. [00:11:36] Speaker F: Can I do an arcana check to see if it was some sort of ritual or somewhere? [00:11:40] Speaker E: Sure. So we're going to go back into exploration mode. Silver. You're going to spend about ten minutes trying to figure that out. Brienna, what are you doing? [00:11:48] Speaker H: Brianna will go. I wish I had some form of tracking, but I don't. [00:11:56] Speaker E: You can use the survival skill to try and figure it out. [00:11:59] Speaker H: Okay. Let's see how I am in survival. [00:12:03] Speaker E: Well, that's going to take some time, so I'll roll for that. For you as well. Soraya, what are you doing? [00:12:10] Speaker D: Can I make a crafting check on those ashes and see? I can kind of figure. Know if there's any remains in them or if it just seems like. Yeah, it was totally carbon based, or it might have been something. [00:12:20] Speaker E: Okay, sure, sure. Pond watcher. What are you doing? [00:12:23] Speaker G: I'm going to see if there's any devious papers left in any of these places. [00:12:30] Speaker E: Okay. And twin Talon, it looks like there's. [00:12:33] Speaker B: A door to the going to. I guess I'll help Brianna in trying to figure out if the tracks go that way. [00:12:40] Speaker E: All right, so Brianna and twin Talon, what are your survival checks? [00:12:45] Speaker H: Zero. [00:12:46] Speaker B: Mine's plus five. [00:12:47] Speaker E: All right, silver, what is your Arcana bonus six. Sareia, what is your crafting check? [00:12:54] Speaker D: I hate the commands on this thing. It's plus eleven if you want to roll it for me. [00:12:58] Speaker E: Yes, I do actually. And pond watcher, what is your perception bonus? [00:13:03] Speaker G: Plus seven. [00:13:04] Speaker E: Oh boy. Okay, so twin Talon and Brianna, after about ten minutes you can figure out that the tracks start from the door that twin Talon is in front of and went to the center of the room where the ashes and melted candles are before moving to the door where Brienna is currently to the west. At that point, the tracks retreat back to the door where twin Talon is. And they seem to be. Seem to be moving quicker. They seem to be moving quicker. [00:13:46] Speaker H: Okay. [00:13:49] Speaker E: So yeah, that's what you know, Soraya. [00:13:55] Speaker D: Yes. [00:13:56] Speaker E: You can tell that the candles and ashes are just that from some sort of magic. But they are not like disturbed or anything like that. [00:14:10] Speaker D: Interesting. [00:14:11] Speaker E: Silver, you can tell with your role that some sort of necromantic ritual was performed here to communicate with the lingering spirits of the dead. [00:14:31] Speaker F: They're trying to find something. Okay, cool. [00:14:36] Speaker E: Pond Watcher, you find as you're going through all of these cabinets takes about ten minutes. But you don't find most of the paper is molded. You find a small locked box. [00:15:01] Speaker F: I can open that box for you. [00:15:03] Speaker G: Try to hide from me, will you? [00:15:05] Speaker H: Don't desecrate it. [00:15:08] Speaker G: Okay? [00:15:08] Speaker B: I know you guys are making fun of me, which I think is pretty shitty, but these are not dead people in here. This is a records room. [00:15:16] Speaker G: I'm sorry, twin Talon. It's just a little light joshing is all. [00:15:21] Speaker H: Yeah, we'll pout and go over to her friend and give him a hug. It's okay. Just trying to make light of kind of that situation. [00:15:30] Speaker G: Look, I'm sort of ignorant of your culture and if this is a big deal for you, I did not realize that. And now I feel pretty bad. So. Sorry. I'm going to give this box to silver though. [00:15:43] Speaker E: Okay? [00:15:44] Speaker F: Yeah, I want to try to open it. [00:15:46] Speaker B: Sean, again, this is records rooms. I have no problem. You taking everything from in here? [00:15:51] Speaker G: No, I know my comment was a little mean and I apologize. [00:15:57] Speaker E: Get out. Hug it out. [00:15:59] Speaker G: You want to bring it in, man? [00:16:01] Speaker E: Come on over here. [00:16:03] Speaker B: Okay. [00:16:04] Speaker G: Me and Alec used to hug all the time, but now he's dead. [00:16:09] Speaker B: He was around for a couple hours. [00:16:12] Speaker G: Yeah, but we did bicep curls. We did some hugs. I really wish he wasn't dead. But it's a good thing you don't know anything about that. Right. [00:16:25] Speaker B: I'll. If you want, I can show you my stretching exercises. [00:16:33] Speaker G: That sounds very good. [00:16:35] Speaker F: I rolled it to 25, Sean, while they're doing this. [00:16:40] Speaker E: I see. I'm going to let this continue, though. Hang on. [00:16:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I want to watch this. [00:16:44] Speaker G: Wait, so you just bend over like this? [00:16:47] Speaker B: Yeah, you got to really feel it. I call it the bend and snap. [00:16:54] Speaker G: My hamstrings feel very tight. [00:16:58] Speaker E: So, silver, as you're examining this box, twin Talon and Pond Watcher are stretching. [00:17:07] Speaker F: Know, we called it something else back in my day, but I guess we were less ashamed. [00:17:13] Speaker E: You notice that when you manage to jimmy open the lock and you open it and there's nothing inside. But as you feel around the box, you find a false bottom on it. And with the 25, you manage to open that up. [00:17:27] Speaker D: Called it in his day. [00:17:31] Speaker G: Thank you. I was hoping someone would go for it. [00:17:33] Speaker E: You pop it open and you see in the false bottom that there is a silver and garnet piece of. Oh, and it says stegrim on the bottom of the bottom of the box. [00:17:50] Speaker F: Is that Alex, the family name? [00:17:54] Speaker E: Yep. [00:17:55] Speaker G: Speak up, the devil. [00:17:56] Speaker F: Does anyone see me open this box? [00:18:00] Speaker E: You're in the room. [00:18:02] Speaker F: Yeah, I know, but I want to know if I could. I'm not going to try to palm it. I just don't want to have a gut reaction overseeing his stuff. I'm going to bring this to Ted med because he is the one wanted to take care of Alex. The family heirlooms. [00:18:20] Speaker E: Rihanna, what's your perception bonus? And Sareia, what is your perception bonus? [00:18:26] Speaker H: Perception is plus five. [00:18:29] Speaker D: Same for Sareia. [00:18:31] Speaker E: Great. So while twin Talon and pond watch are stretching out and silver is going through this box and unlocking it, you guys discover some other pieces of paper that are just kind of spewing about. Here you find four scrolls and a silver symbol. [00:18:52] Speaker F: Like a high hat. [00:18:53] Speaker E: Yes, and a souped up. [00:18:57] Speaker F: Just to be sure. I detect magic. Is there any magic over this heirloom I found? [00:19:02] Speaker E: No, there is not. [00:19:04] Speaker H: What you mean by symbol? Is it like. [00:19:07] Speaker E: It looks like it could be a holy symbol, but it's of a deity that you don't recognize off the top of your head until you tell me what your religion bonus is. [00:19:17] Speaker H: Okay, I guess that was my question. Is it like a pendant? [00:19:23] Speaker D: Yeah. Is it like inset? [00:19:25] Speaker E: The wall is it a pendant? It's a silver pendant. Okay, what is your religious bonus? [00:19:31] Speaker H: Religious plus five. [00:19:33] Speaker E: Great. So between the two of you, you discover that it is a silver religious symbol of the goddess Alstea. Two faces in profile, and it's kind of sitting as a paperweight on top of these scrolls to keep them down and whatnot. Alstea, as you know, is an old elven deity. [00:19:59] Speaker H: She's the God of. Remind me. Rings, doorways. [00:20:05] Speaker E: Yep. [00:20:06] Speaker H: Which one is it? Rings or doorways? [00:20:08] Speaker E: Or doorways? Sorry. [00:20:12] Speaker H: It's okay. [00:20:13] Speaker D: So wait, hang on. It's Alstea is the God, and it's. Estella's ring is the other thing. [00:20:20] Speaker E: The name of the deity is A-L-S-E-T-A which is the same name as the ring, by the way. [00:20:31] Speaker D: That's more what I was asking. So Sean just can't read. [00:20:36] Speaker B: So it's 20 eps in, and now we figure out we've been saying it. [00:20:40] Speaker D: Wrong the whole time. [00:20:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I think we is a little generous. [00:20:46] Speaker G: It's a hard name. [00:20:48] Speaker E: Thanks. [00:20:48] Speaker H: Is it, though? [00:20:50] Speaker G: What are those scrolls you found? [00:20:52] Speaker D: What are those scrolls we found? Do I need to make an arcane check now? [00:20:56] Speaker E: No, you can just read them. A scroll of darkness, a scroll of dark vision, a scroll of heel and a scroll of magic missile. [00:21:06] Speaker D: Well, I can use these. Well, except the dark vision one. Who wants that? Podwasher here. [00:21:14] Speaker H: Yeah. [00:21:15] Speaker G: Hey, scrolls are for chumps, all right? I don't need to read. [00:21:19] Speaker D: Do you want dark vision or not? [00:21:21] Speaker G: I can't use that. [00:21:23] Speaker D: Well, you can cast girls on people, can't you? Or is it target self? [00:21:27] Speaker F: It's a good question. [00:21:28] Speaker E: I think someone else could cast it. [00:21:30] Speaker G: On me, but I can't use it myself, so I don't know why I have to hold it. My backpack is full of 55 weapons already. [00:21:39] Speaker D: And whose choice is that? [00:21:44] Speaker G: Most of them. I will get them later. [00:21:48] Speaker H: Okay. [00:21:49] Speaker E: All right, so you guys have scoured this room. There's a door to the north that twin Talon is at. [00:21:56] Speaker B: Okay, I would like to listen at the door and then possibly open it. [00:22:03] Speaker G: Twin? I feel so warmed up now. Thank you. I will back you up. [00:22:07] Speaker E: All right. You don't hear anything and you don't detect any traps. [00:22:13] Speaker B: Great. Then I will open the door and see what's on the other side. [00:22:18] Speaker E: Various storage racks and cabinets clutter this long, narrow space. Some are empty, though others still contain dusty banners with the order of the nails, sunburst insignia stylized as modian paraphernalia, and other trappings clearly designated for formal funerals are in these rooms. As well. Curiously, in the back of the room, a dirt walled tunnel opens in the wall and stretches into the gloom. And a set of tracks leads from this tunnel to the door leading back into the vaults. [00:22:55] Speaker D: So it is only like 510ft wide. [00:22:58] Speaker E: Yes. [00:22:59] Speaker D: Well, shall I go down the tunnel? Shall we? Does it matter? [00:23:05] Speaker B: Yeah, I think we should. I can't see without our light source. [00:23:09] Speaker E: The tunnel continues down. This continues down and twists and starts to twist and turn on a downward decline. There's no decline or it's not rising or dropping. It continues on the same level. [00:23:24] Speaker D: Well, I suppose we're going to follow it. [00:23:28] Speaker B: Is this in the direction of Breechell? [00:23:30] Speaker E: It is. [00:23:32] Speaker B: Guys, I think maybe they actually stalled out on the tunnel on the other side. They might actually manage the tunnel on this side. [00:23:38] Speaker H: Yeah, we should probably see what it does lead to. [00:23:43] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:23:44] Speaker G: What if they got all the way back to town to attack the tunnel? [00:23:47] Speaker B: Well, if so, maybe this is a faster way than going over land. I say we follow it. [00:23:53] Speaker E: All right, so you follow this tunnel and you're following it, and you're walking for like 2 hours down this dark tunnel and suddenly it ends in a doorway. [00:24:07] Speaker B: I'd like to listen at the door. [00:24:10] Speaker E: All right. You don't hear anything on the other side of the door. [00:24:16] Speaker B: Kick it down, check it for traps. As long as I'm kicking it out of my hands. And then if no traps, I'll open it up. [00:24:23] Speaker G: I was just suggesting that you can do that if you want. [00:24:26] Speaker E: You do not detect any traps. [00:24:28] Speaker B: Okay, then I'll open it up. [00:24:30] Speaker E: You open the door and you find yourself in a storeroom. In this storeroom, you find jars upon jars of urine, pickled cucumbers, pickled beets, radishes, pickled onions, pickled cauliflower, pickled chicken's feet, and of course, pickled pig's ear. [00:24:57] Speaker B: Wait, isn't this the tavern in town? Wasn't there a tavern in town? I was like, I pickle everything. Double pickle pickles. [00:25:03] Speaker E: Yes, there is. [00:25:04] Speaker D: Yes. [00:25:05] Speaker B: Remember there's being a commercial about this. [00:25:09] Speaker F: Pickle man been like, murdered while we've been gone? Because that would be horrifying. [00:25:14] Speaker E: Oh, my God. [00:25:15] Speaker D: Can you imagine? [00:25:16] Speaker B: Well, I guess if we're in a storeroom, there's another door to it, I'm assuming. [00:25:22] Speaker E: Yes, there is. [00:25:23] Speaker F: I'm going to pocket some of these pickles to eat later. [00:25:26] Speaker E: Okay. You managed to get a jar loose, soggy Pickles. [00:25:29] Speaker G: Loose pickles. [00:25:30] Speaker B: In his pocket. [00:25:32] Speaker F: I have jars. [00:25:33] Speaker G: That's the most old man thing I've ever heard. [00:25:38] Speaker B: Of these pickles for later? [00:25:39] Speaker G: Y'all gotta move these Werthers aside to make room for the pickles. [00:25:46] Speaker B: Okay, well, if so, then I'd like to go to the door and open it. [00:25:51] Speaker E: As you open it, you see that there are two people in an otherwise empty tavern, and they look over to you and go, what are you doing here? Where did you come from? [00:26:07] Speaker B: We were just. [00:26:08] Speaker F: We are figments of your imagination. [00:26:13] Speaker B: We're pickle inspectors. But everything seems tipped up. [00:26:18] Speaker E: How'd you get in here? [00:26:21] Speaker F: You invited us. [00:26:22] Speaker D: Trade secret. [00:26:23] Speaker B: We got to go. My wife's outside. I'm going to walk outside. [00:26:29] Speaker E: I'm going to tell Roxy about this as you all walk outside. You are indeed back in Breach Hill. Shit. [00:26:37] Speaker B: But you know what's weird about this? I mean, other than there's a tunnel into the town, there's a door on the end of it. Which means either there was already a door in that storeroom, or there's been a door installed in the storeroom and nobody noticed. [00:26:51] Speaker G: These people are not very smart. [00:26:53] Speaker F: I'd like to try one of these pickles to ensure that they aren't that smart. [00:26:58] Speaker E: No, they are delicious. They are some of the best pickles we've ever had. [00:27:01] Speaker B: Although if Roxy wasn't one of the people in the tavern, she could be dead. [00:27:06] Speaker E: So the two people in the tavern were obviously like wait staff prepping for the day. [00:27:13] Speaker B: Okay. [00:27:13] Speaker E: Because you woke up and you guys came straight down here. So it's fairly early in the morning. [00:27:19] Speaker B: It took us 2 hours. [00:27:21] Speaker E: Yeah. So like, say you guys get up at eight, explore those rooms. 839, come take a two hour walk. That's like 1111 30. [00:27:33] Speaker G: I just wanted to say how ironic it is that timid is not here. We finally found a tavern. [00:27:40] Speaker E: And you've left him back 2 hours back. [00:27:44] Speaker G: He's fine. [00:27:46] Speaker B: He's got the goblins to protect him. [00:27:51] Speaker H: He'd probably be fine. And then we can tell him about this cabin when we get back. That is a good point. Is there a way I can maybe roll retail lore to see if those tunnels were known to have been there beforehand or. [00:28:09] Speaker E: Sure, give me a roll. [00:28:12] Speaker H: I'm just not rolling well on what's it? [00:28:16] Speaker E: Yeah, you don't really know what's going on. [00:28:21] Speaker H: I feel like maybe a conversation with the people inside would be a good idea. We are technically under the investigation or under the pay of the town itself. Find out what happened to the goblins, et cetera, et cetera. [00:28:39] Speaker E: Also, I just want to point out and remind you you have left. The person who back 2 hours back in the citadel. The person you're supposed to bring back to the town? [00:28:50] Speaker D: Yes. Telmot is also at the citadel. [00:28:54] Speaker F: I think we should just go back in the tunnel. Head back. [00:28:59] Speaker D: Yeah. We found everything there to explore, correct? [00:29:03] Speaker E: As far as you know? Yes. [00:29:04] Speaker F: Can I also take some booze from the storeroom to get. [00:29:09] Speaker H: Do you want to pay for that? Maybe silvers? [00:29:12] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:29:13] Speaker B: First it's Robin Graves, now these people aren't even dead, and you're taking their stuff. [00:29:18] Speaker F: Yeah, I'll pay for it. I'll leave like a copper. [00:29:27] Speaker E: Okay, so you guys go back into the cavern and the two servers who are, like, cleaning up the bar and prepping it. We're not open yet. [00:29:38] Speaker B: We want to ask you about that tunnel in the back. What do you know about that? [00:29:42] Speaker E: What tunnel? [00:29:44] Speaker B: The one in the storeroom. [00:29:45] Speaker E: There's no tunnels in the storeroom. [00:29:47] Speaker B: There's a door in the back of the storeroom. You ever open that door? [00:29:51] Speaker E: Where? No. [00:29:53] Speaker H: Not to sound like a Karen, but where is your supervisor? [00:30:00] Speaker E: Well, Roxy is the owner of this tavern, and she'll be back when we open in like, an hour. [00:30:10] Speaker H: Excellent. Well, we will come and check in with Roxy about this predicament. In the meantime, we will be going back the way we came, and we wish you well. [00:30:22] Speaker E: That's for staff only. [00:30:24] Speaker G: You. What is your name? [00:30:26] Speaker E: January. [00:30:28] Speaker H: January? Is that spelled. [00:30:31] Speaker B: Sorry, did you say January? [00:30:34] Speaker G: January, but with a soft J-Y-E-N-R. Yenry, listen. There are things afoot in this town, and the only way to stop them is for you. [00:30:46] Speaker E: Are you saying because I'm a halfling? No, I find that very discriminatory, sir. [00:30:53] Speaker G: I'm sorry. I don't see race. But maybe you can give me some ale and I could drink it, and then we could go on our way. [00:31:01] Speaker F: Henry, how would you like to be a hero that you've always wanted to be? [00:31:05] Speaker E: I'm really happy here at the pickled pigs. Here. Bar and grill. [00:31:12] Speaker D: Mar and grill. [00:31:18] Speaker E: I'm quite content here, thank you. Now, if you guys could please leave, that would be wonderful. I need to finish cutting these lemons for the drinks, not pickles. You don't cut the pickles. [00:31:33] Speaker F: All right, well, generate. As I said before, we're just figments of your imagination. [00:31:39] Speaker E: I need to stop drinking. My imagination is pretty cruel to me, Jenner. [00:31:45] Speaker G: Just remember, I have my eye on you. [00:31:49] Speaker E: But if you're a figment of my imagination and you have your eye on me, then does that mean I have my eye on you? [00:31:57] Speaker F: Yeah, your conscious is pissed with you. Talk to your mother more, okay? [00:32:04] Speaker E: And with that, you guys head down back into the storeroom. You manage to find the hidden door that leads you back to the citadel, and we will see what happens next time. [00:32:22] Speaker C: What will our heroes do next? How will they make sure the town is safe? Will that hapling ever recover from the terrors that the players have performed on him? Is temid getting healthy? Find the answers to these questions and more on the next episode of the Cracked Die podcast. And now a word from our sponsors. [00:32:44] Speaker I: Are you looking for the best preserved meats this side of the golden road? Then come on down to the nine shield smokehouse. We at the nine shield smokehouse believe in good old fashioned fresh fish from the sea or meat from the fields. We buy our fish directly from the local fishermen as they come back in from the steam and sea. You will not find a better smokehouse in the inner sea region, so come on by and grab some smoked meat and say hi. Tell them none sent. [00:33:21] Speaker H: You.
