[00:00:40] Speaker A: Welcome to the 91st episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
Woohoo.
[00:00:47] Speaker B: Yeah, none of that. None of that. Yay.
[00:00:50] Speaker C: Time to say goodbye to your beloved characters.
[00:00:55] Speaker D: I was going to say we at least can say we are. How many till 109?
[00:01:01] Speaker A: Nine after this.
[00:01:03] Speaker B: Yeah. Also, I just want to say happy August to everyone since it is today, the day we are recording. This is, I believe, August 5.
[00:01:17] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:01:18] Speaker B: Yep. We record this at midnight on August 5.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: Right.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: And then at 01:00 it gets undead edited. It is pure.
Pure exactly what happened. And then we just release it immediately. I believe that's how we do it.
[00:01:33] Speaker E: Can I slip through the fourth?
[00:01:35] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Yeah, it's August 5 now.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: Oh, crap.
[00:01:40] Speaker E: I gotta go pay some bills. I'll be right back.
[00:01:44] Speaker A: That would be the worst part of, like, Rip van winkling. Anything is. Oh, my God, I got so many bills to pay.
[00:01:52] Speaker B: Well, no, I think that's why he was under a tree, right? Because, like, he got. His house got foreclosed on and they were like, well, what do we do with this guy? He's just asleep. Like, he's not dead. Like, let's put him out under this tree. He'll be fine. You know, then 100 years past or whatever.
[00:02:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:02:06] Speaker C: Better than waking up to being like, hey, you have, like, a hundred year hospital bill.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: Yeah, that's awful.
Also, speaking of episode 100, if I did the math right, that's October 7 is when that should be. As I said, recorded and released on the same day.
[00:02:24] Speaker A: Well, it's gonna be real nice when we have, you know, four brand new characters for that hundredth episode. It makes my planning a lot easier.
[00:02:34] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. You can just throw out anything that is not exactly from the book at that point.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: Yeah, right.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: But what are you gonna do for the next four episodes or nine episodes when you have these four new characters?
[00:02:46] Speaker A: Yeah, I got at least a flashback per episode, so, you know.
Well, speaking of awful, we're still in this combat and things are not looking great for y'all.
[00:03:01] Speaker E: No, I think I'm unconscious.
[00:03:02] Speaker D: I believe I am too.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: So just to recap. Knife, sword, you're unconscious and in a glass cage of emotion. And by glass cage of emotion, I mean a iron cage that was conjured from under the ground.
Brianna, you were being a good tank like you are, and ran in, and now you're on the ground unconscious.
[00:03:32] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:03:33] Speaker A: I believe everyone is stabilized, if not a little slimy because of knife swords gift.
[00:03:40] Speaker B: So I listened to that episode again. It doesn't make the wearer covered in slime. It just makes the amulet covered in slime.
[00:03:46] Speaker A: Yeah, but it's. Oh, well, okay, for those of you who wear armor, the spot on your armor is all slimy now, so.
[00:03:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I just mean, like in a recent episode when it went off, I think we described it as our whole body's being covered in goo. And I don't think that's how it's originally supposed to be set up.
[00:04:03] Speaker C: The amulet just explodes in improbable amounts of gooeye.
[00:04:09] Speaker E: That's how my personal one works.
[00:04:13] Speaker A: So Brianna is also unconscious?
[00:04:16] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Saraya and Twintalon are both conscious, if only by the skin or their teeth. You're both kind of backed into a corner.
Tasani is there in the distance.
And rusty, may this large hag is moving towards you. But it is twin talons turn.
So let's not beat around the bush anymore and see if we have to pause for new characters to be made. A new art to be commissioned. Twin Talon, it is your turn.
[00:04:59] Speaker B: Oh boy. Well, no pressure.
Um, so I've thought a lot about this over the past week and I realize there are no good options.
There are only like better and worse options.
[00:05:16] Speaker A: I just also want to put out there that Twintalon is wounded two and Soraya is wounded one and clumsy one.
[00:05:24] Speaker C: I keep forgetting I'm clumsy.
[00:05:26] Speaker B: It should be baked into the character sheet. Yeah, assuming the macros are working.
[00:05:30] Speaker C: It's totally baked. Oh, yeah, it's totally baked in the character sheet. I just forget why am I bad at everything?
[00:05:39] Speaker A: Last episode there was a lot of fighting. All right, I did my recap. Let's go.
[00:05:44] Speaker B: Oh, well, that's. That's the thing.
Okay, so twin Talon is going to move.
So 25.
[00:05:59] Speaker A: All right, so you move to the east 25.
[00:06:04] Speaker B: I circled around the south end of the room and then up behind the star arranged benches, or beds, I think is what they were.
[00:06:13] Speaker A: Yes, they are beds.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: Okay. And now that I have some cover from the beds, he is going to make a stealth check to hideous.
[00:06:21] Speaker A: Okay, so that is versus her perception DC. Perception DC. All right, go ahead, make that roll.
[00:06:30] Speaker B: You fucking kidding me?
[00:06:33] Speaker C: Oh, no. Jeez.
[00:06:36] Speaker A: Everyone has a hero point to start the session.
[00:06:39] Speaker B: So the other function of a hero point is if you were to get the dying value, it removes the dying value if you're dying about increases for any reason.
So I feel like I need to not use it even though I just rolled a natural one on stealth, which, I mean, do skill checks automatically fail or succeed on one? I don't know. I mean, her perception is probably better than a ten so it doesn't matter one way or the other, but.
And then Twintallon is going to draw out trying to look at my character. It's been so long. It's been a whole week.
There's anything else I was thinking about, I think I was gonna plot eclipse. So I think that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna draw out eclipse as my third action.
[00:07:24] Speaker A: Okay, so you moved, you think you hid, and then you draw out, and.
[00:07:33] Speaker B: Then Taysani, it's going to move.
So Tysoni was north of Rusty Mae and she flapped across the room. So she's now kind of northeast of where tin Talon is uselessly crouched on top of the bed. Maybe. I don't know what he did. He put, like, a pillowcase on his head. I'm unclear what you're.
[00:07:55] Speaker C: I feel like he's, like, behind the bed, crouched down. But not accounting for the fact that she's tall enough to see over it.
[00:08:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
Well, it's now Brianna's turn. She's unconscious.
[00:08:08] Speaker D: I believe I stabilized last time you did.
[00:08:11] Speaker A: So I'm just going to check in with you. Hiya.
[00:08:13] Speaker C: How are you doing today?
[00:08:15] Speaker A: Great. Next is knife sword, who is also unconscious. Rob, how you feeling?
[00:08:21] Speaker E: I'm good. So is it Starfield that I gotta make a thing in? No, wait, Pat. No, never mind. I'm lost.
[00:08:30] Speaker A: What? All right, it is now Rusty maze turn.
[00:08:35] Speaker C: Great.
[00:08:36] Speaker A: Yep. So her first action is to move towards.
Oh, no, I don't even have to move because she has a ten foot reach and is going to attempt to strike at Saraya.
[00:08:58] Speaker C: Of course she is.
Alrighty.
[00:09:02] Speaker A: And I'm gonna let you all see what I roll.
[00:09:06] Speaker B: I don't know why her bonus is plus 23. I don't understand with who this fight is built for.
Like, the champion is the best AC ever and just got wrecked.
[00:09:19] Speaker C: Yeah, that is not a crit, but it will hit.
[00:09:23] Speaker A: Okay, 28 points of damage.
[00:09:31] Speaker C: Barely.
[00:09:32] Speaker A: All right.
[00:09:33] Speaker C: Definitely not. Definitely not stronger than I've ever been.
[00:09:37] Speaker A: Okay, she is going to.
She's going to grab triumphant, which I make a athletics check.
[00:09:52] Speaker C: Make an athletics check against my 42 DC.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: And it is. It does have the attack action, so it's at a negative five.
[00:09:59] Speaker A: Okay, athletics minus five.
Christine, if I roll a natural one and it has the attack trait, would that be a critical miss?
[00:10:15] Speaker C: Um, I suppose so.
[00:10:19] Speaker A: Great. Christine, what would you like to do? Would you like to grab Rusty may or would you like to knock?
[00:10:24] Speaker C: No, no, she can fall on her ass.
[00:10:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:10:27] Speaker C: Checks out.
[00:10:28] Speaker A: So she goes prone and then her last action is going to be to stand up. All right, Sareya, possibly the last turn you ever get to take.
[00:10:41] Speaker C: Well, I'm running fair, actually. No, the first thing I'm going to do is remind me, what are they resistant to? I know we asked.
[00:10:53] Speaker B: They're resistant to slashing and piercing.
[00:10:55] Speaker A: I think they're resistant bludgeoning.
[00:10:59] Speaker B: What?
[00:11:01] Speaker C: What? No, that's like the opposite of what we learned.
[00:11:03] Speaker B: They're weak against bludgeoning.
[00:11:06] Speaker A: Yes. They're weak against bludgeoning. Yes. There you go. Physical. Yes. Except bludgeoning.
[00:11:12] Speaker B: Right, so they're not. Okay, so again, that's also wrong. They're not weak against bludgeoning. They're resistant to everything but bludgeoning.
[00:11:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:11:21] Speaker A: Resistance, physical. Ten, except for bludgeoning.
[00:11:24] Speaker B: Okay, cool.
[00:11:26] Speaker C: So I'm gonna throw a frost vial at her and does a 21? Hit her.
[00:11:35] Speaker A: It will miss. You like to use your hero point.
[00:11:39] Speaker C: I'm gonna regret this, but yes. All right, so hero pointing. Does a 33 hit her.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: That will hit.
[00:11:46] Speaker C: Oh, thank God. Okay, so she's gonna take two d six cold damage, two cold splash, and she is slowed 10ft.
[00:11:56] Speaker A: All right, so roll your two d, six damage.
[00:11:59] Speaker C: Rolling that. So nine cold damage plus the two splash. Okay, she slowed 10ft. I don't know how fast she can move, but I'm going to move my available speed, which I'm clumsy. Does that reduce my speed?
[00:12:18] Speaker A: Nope, it just reduces your ac.
[00:12:21] Speaker C: Perfect. Okay, so that means that I can move.
Alrighty. So 35ft, I can move in a single action.
30, I think gets me basically right next to the door to the east.
[00:12:37] Speaker A: All right.
And you have one more action.
[00:12:41] Speaker C: I do?
I.
So, jelen, how are you holding up?
[00:12:50] Speaker B: Not good. My plan is to try to hide again and then if I succeed, I'm going to. Well, either way, my plan is to hide, attack, and then move away. So I think our plan is to kite her. So I would just, you know, I don't know how fast she is, but she's 10ft slower thanks to your frost file. For now at least for a turn. Is that what it is? Just with one turn, penalty speeds last until the end of its next turn.
[00:13:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna.
[00:13:22] Speaker A: Okay, I know this isn't something you guys want to hear, but retreat is an option.
[00:13:28] Speaker C: We'd rather not leave our friends.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I think if knife, sword and brienne weren't laying unconscious, we would think much more highly of retreat. Also rusty maze between us and the exit. So even if we retreat, we got to do it the long way.
[00:13:42] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:13:43] Speaker C: Well, which is why I moved to where I did, because that's the long way around.
I'm going to use my laugh action to double brew some elixirs of life.
And for the first time ever, I am out of available reagents.
I mean, I have pre made bombs. I just can't make anything else on the fly.
[00:14:09] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Okay, twin Talon, it is your turn.
[00:14:15] Speaker B: Okie dokie.
Well, as I previously mentioned, I'm going to try to hide again since I still have cover.
So twin Talon is going to make a hide check to start with.
[00:14:26] Speaker A: All right.
[00:14:29] Speaker B: I'm hiding it.
There we go. Much better. 34.
Okay. I mean, it doesn't really matter because my second action is gonna be the same either way. He is going to throw eclipse at the horrible, horrible lady.
If she is flat footed, it would be her ac is two less and I would do sneak attack. That's the reason I'm doing this, okay. Is to get some extra damage in there.
[00:14:58] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:15:00] Speaker B: Natural 18 for 34 to hit.
[00:15:02] Speaker A: That will.
No, that'll hit.
[00:15:05] Speaker B: Okay. So, yeah, don't.
So if, if she is, is she flat footed? Is she not flat footed? So I'm rolling damage and doing other stuff.
[00:15:17] Speaker A: She is flat footed to you.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: Okay, great.
Okay, so the damage from eclipse, two D four plus four. I got eight plus two, D six. Damage from sneak attack is another seven. So it's a total of 15 slashing damage, which means probably five that she actually takes.
[00:15:39] Speaker A: All right, damage has been taken.
[00:15:42] Speaker B: And because I did my sneak attack, I can also do a debilitation. So on hit target, status penalty to speeds is what the frost file says.
Okay, so the built rake also says negative ten foot status penalty to speed. So I don't think status penalties stack. Am I wrong or am I right on that?
[00:16:06] Speaker A: Let's look.
[00:16:08] Speaker B: If they're both status penalties, they do not stack. So instead, since the frost file has the same type and it would last exactly the same amount of time, I'm pretty sure I am instead going to do the other debilitation, which is that she is enfeebled one.
[00:16:28] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: All right, so strength based.
[00:16:32] Speaker A: All right, enfeebled one.
Okay, so Rusty Mae has taken a ten foot status penalty and is enfeebled one. All right.
[00:16:44] Speaker B: Okay, so, so then for my third action, I am going to shuffle back 25ft, 510 five. Which takes me into the little corridor.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Oh, I don't think you've actually seen this room.
[00:17:03] Speaker C: Nope.
[00:17:04] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:17:06] Speaker C: I also can't see it even though I'm standing right in front of the door.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, the hallway goes to the east and then turns left to the northeast. So twin Talon is kind of in that northeastern part of the corridor. He moved from the beds back. He can still see Rusty maven where he is, but, yeah, he can also see into this new room. What do I see there, shawn?
[00:17:30] Speaker A: One wall of this room contains an ornate archway of stone carved with symbols of stars, comets and waves. The space underneath the archway is filled with featureless plug that has been decorated with a complex series of runes described in what looks like long, dried blood. While the ground below the archway is scorched black. Four ornate chairs surround a silver cauldron to one side of the room, while this large wooden table with some books atop it stands against the opposite wall. The room contains two exits in the wall opposite of the blocked archway. You're coming through one of those exits right now.
[00:18:12] Speaker B: Got it. Okay, so the eastern walls where the archway is, I'm assuming.
[00:18:17] Speaker A: Yep. That pulsing blue light is the archway.
[00:18:20] Speaker B: Okay. And then. Okay, okay. All right. What's my three actions? And then Taysani is going to follow me and go ahead a little bit.
Oh, I see the cauldron now. Or she sees the cauldron.
Okay, so she's just gonna stop in the middle of the room here and look around.
[00:18:42] Speaker A: Yeah. So you see that? She sees that scorch mark on the ground in front of the archway. There's that cauldron, like we said. And then there's books to the north.
[00:18:54] Speaker B: Okay, on the. On the shelf?
[00:18:57] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:18:57] Speaker B: At desk or desk. Got it. Okay.
[00:19:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:01] Speaker B: All right, well, that's my turn.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: Brianna, how are you doing?
[00:19:05] Speaker D: I'm snoozing away.
[00:19:06] Speaker A: I assume knife sword, how's life for you?
[00:19:10] Speaker E: So my reaction goes off and knife sword crumbles into a pit. A swirling mass of darkness portal shows up the cell. The smell of sea salt permeates the room as large, black, inky, slimy tentacles flow from where dark skull was and crush Ellie Mae and spool her back into the dark dimension.
[00:19:36] Speaker C: I like it. That's great, Chivas.
[00:19:38] Speaker D: Please be canon.
[00:19:38] Speaker C: That's a great dream he's having.
[00:19:40] Speaker A: Yeah, I was gonna say that's a wonderful dream.
All right, it is now Rusty May's turn.
Now, if you remember, a few seconds ago, she is slowed 10ft. She's also enfeebled, so her strength based checks, including her claw strikes, are lowered. So her first move is to go.
[00:20:06] Speaker B: 510 1520 coming north around the side of the room.
[00:20:13] Speaker A: 30. Moving north around the side of the room. Correct.
Her second action.
[00:20:19] Speaker B: Wait, did she move 30ft in one map movement with. Even with a negative ten foot speed penalty?
[00:20:24] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:20:25] Speaker B: Fuck.
[00:20:26] Speaker E: I didn't know that Kryptonians were in Pathfinder.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: Right.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: Everyone should just play a hag. It's great for her second and third action, she begins and finishes casting a spell and she becomes medium sized.
And that's her turn.
[00:20:50] Speaker B: She's gonna need that if she's trying to chase us through this corridor.
[00:20:53] Speaker A: Yep.
As my nightmare found out, being large and trying to squeeze, not a good combination.
[00:21:03] Speaker C: Fair.
[00:21:04] Speaker A: So she's no longer enfeebled Saraya.
[00:21:09] Speaker C: Let's see.
She's one range increment outside my bombs. What's the penalty? That is it.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: Minus two.
[00:21:17] Speaker C: Minus two.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: Minus two. Yep.
[00:21:20] Speaker C: I'm gonna risk it, at least on my first attack.
[00:21:23] Speaker A: As our dear friend Anwar would say. Gonna risk it for the biscuit.
[00:21:28] Speaker C: Indeed. I'm gonna hit her with another cross file. Or at least I'm gonna try to 30.
[00:21:34] Speaker A: That will hit exactly.
[00:21:37] Speaker C: Oh, shit. Alrighty. Well, now we know what her ac is, guys.
[00:21:41] Speaker B: Yeah. 30. Great.
[00:21:43] Speaker C: Well, she's taking another two. D six cold. All right, so that's ten cold damage. Two cold splash. Still slowed. 10ft.
[00:21:51] Speaker A: All right. I put the sload back on there.
[00:21:54] Speaker C: Sounds good. I'm going to drink one of my elixirs of life.
[00:22:00] Speaker A: All right. How much do you heal?
[00:22:02] Speaker C: Five D six plus twelve.
[00:22:04] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:22:05] Speaker C: 27 hit points.
[00:22:07] Speaker A: All right. You are healed for 27.
[00:22:11] Speaker C: And then I'm gonna. I'm gonna move. All right, as twin Chellen said, keep kiting. So, one.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: So you're moving 20ft inside?
[00:22:23] Speaker C: I'm moving my full 35. Or you know what? No, I'll keep the 20 and I'll stay close to twin Talon.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:22:30] Speaker C: Passing is another action, isn't it?
[00:22:32] Speaker A: Yes. Handing something.
[00:22:33] Speaker C: Like if I were gonna hand him something. Yeah. Okay, cool.
[00:22:38] Speaker A: Twin Talon, it is. Your turn.
[00:22:41] Speaker B: Okay, so by the rules vested in me by the book of core rules, because of our positioning, it's center to center. If you can draw a line through anything that would be, uh, blocking terrain, you get cover. In which case, if I have cover, I can hide. So I'm going to make a stealth check.
All right, that's a 35.
[00:23:05] Speaker A: All right. You think you're hidden.
[00:23:07] Speaker B: Great. And then I'm going to hurl. Eclipse.
[00:23:09] Speaker A: Okay.
Like that?
[00:23:13] Speaker B: Sure. I'm sure that's what it was.
It's a natural fucking one.
[00:23:18] Speaker A: Wow. That's a natural one. Would you like to take the critical miscard or use your hero point.
[00:23:25] Speaker B: I don't understand how half of my rolls have been natural ones. That's insane.
What did Soraya hand me, by the way?
[00:23:33] Speaker A: Nothing. Oh, I was okay.
[00:23:36] Speaker C: But if you would like to use your action to take something from me, I have an elixir of life for you.
[00:23:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll just take the critical miscard. Um. I'm sure it will kill me.
[00:23:47] Speaker A: What's the worst that could happen?
[00:23:51] Speaker B: Ranged snap string. If the attack used a weapon in the bow group, which did not, the string snaps requiring three interact actions to fix. So it doesn't do anything. It just misses.
[00:24:03] Speaker A: Wow. That's honestly the best critical miscarriage you could have drawn for this situation.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:24:09] Speaker C: For real.
[00:24:11] Speaker A: All right, so that was your first action. You throw a clip.
[00:24:14] Speaker B: My second action. First was to hide your 2nd. 2nd up. I'd love a third. I love a fourth action. That's just unfortunately not what I got. So let's see, she's 510 15 2025 30. So she's two move actions away from me.
Yeah. So clips flies out, misses her, comes back.
And I. I want to keep kiting, but I also don't want to leave her alone in the room with people.
[00:24:37] Speaker C: Fair.
[00:24:38] Speaker B: So.
Man.
Okay. And I'm also going to try to demoralize her with my intimidate because it is not an attack or anything that doesn't get a negative.
I'm so bad at it, though. Whatever. I can't leave them. There's the love of the room. That's not gonna be good. I know it.
So I got a 30, which is versus her will DC.
[00:25:01] Speaker A: Will you make it by one?
[00:25:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:25:10] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[00:25:11] Speaker B: So she is demoralized, meaning she takes a negative one circumstance penalty.
I'm sorry. She's frightened one frightened one. So she takes negative one penalty to basically everything.
[00:25:23] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. It is now Rusty May's turn, and she is indeed two move actions away from you. So for her first two actions, she moves right up to you, and we're gonna swing a claw.
All right, Matt.
[00:25:44] Speaker B: Mm hmm?
[00:25:46] Speaker A: Your ac is, what, 27.
Okay. And I get a plus 21 because I'm demoralized right now.
[00:25:55] Speaker B: Okay, I believe you.
[00:25:57] Speaker A: To my attack. So a 22 will miss.
[00:26:01] Speaker B: That would mean you rolled a natural one.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: Oh, you're right. It does, doesn't it?
[00:26:06] Speaker B: I mean, I'll take it.
[00:26:08] Speaker A: Yep.
Unarmed eye strain. You are dazzled until the end of your next turn. Oh, that's great, because that means everyone is hithing.
[00:26:20] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:26:21] Speaker A: All right, Saraya, it is your turn.
Oh, I'm sorry. Before you take your turn, Soraya. Did Tony do anything on the. At the end of your turn, Matt.
[00:26:32] Speaker B: She would not have. She's. She's kind of taking a cue. Am I kind of thought there. She's taking a cue. Just kind of keeping an eye on us and also moving.
So if we're in the corridor, she's going to hang out at least a little bit away.
[00:26:44] Speaker A: All right, Soraya it is now your turn.
[00:26:47] Speaker C: How is Rusty Mae looking?
[00:26:49] Speaker A: If Rusty May was a pizza, let's pretend that Rusty May was a pizza with 155 slices to start.
[00:26:59] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:27:00] Speaker A: Let's pretend that she only has, like, less than half of the slices left.
[00:27:06] Speaker B: Which is still like 75 slices.
[00:27:09] Speaker A: If this was a video game, her health bar would have gone from green to yellow to dark yellow. Not quite red.
[00:27:19] Speaker C: Okay. So I'm hoping she's somewhere in like. She's got like a third of them left, which is still like, 50 headboards. Uh, unfortunately, I think my. My reserve elixir has now crumbled because that's how quick alchemy works. It's here for a good time. Not a long time. I'm gonna hit her with an alchemist fire. Moderate.
Ugh. 26 will miss. Willn't it?
[00:27:47] Speaker A: That will miss.
[00:27:49] Speaker C: That's what I thought. Does she get hit with a splash?
[00:27:52] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:27:54] Speaker C: Okay. So she at least takes two fire damage.
[00:27:57] Speaker A: All right.
[00:27:58] Speaker C: I really don't know what a plus eleven is gonna do.
I feel like there's a 50 50 on my first attack, much less any subsequent ones. Does tumble through. Use athletics or acrobatics. I honestly forget.
[00:28:16] Speaker B: I believe it's acrobatics. Yeah. Acrobatics.
[00:28:20] Speaker C: Okay.
But I only have a plus one to that, so.
[00:28:24] Speaker A: And don't forget you're taking a minus to that because of clumsy.
[00:28:28] Speaker C: All right. Um.
Well, let's hope I don't crit fail. Throwing another frost vial.
[00:28:36] Speaker A: All right.
[00:28:38] Speaker C: 0000 nat 20.
[00:28:41] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:28:43] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:28:44] Speaker A: Come on. That is.
[00:28:46] Speaker B: Come on.
[00:28:46] Speaker A: Sarah. That is a critical hit.
[00:28:49] Speaker C: Let me drum a fuck.
[00:28:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:51] Speaker C: Let me drum a card bomb or spell. The target becomes incorporeal until the end of your next turn.
[00:28:59] Speaker A: Phased.
[00:29:01] Speaker C: I I mean, does it mean they can't hit us?
[00:29:05] Speaker B: They can't hit us either. Yeah.
[00:29:06] Speaker C: And I have perpetual infusions of ghost bomb, which I believe lets me incorporate all creatures anyway.
So. Yes. The end of my next turn. Shrit. So it still does the double damage.
[00:29:20] Speaker A: It always does double damage unless. Unless it says otherwise. So. Yes.
[00:29:24] Speaker C: So that's 18 cold damage, plus two cold splash for 20 damage. And she slowed again. 10ft.
[00:29:32] Speaker A: Okay, so it's 18 cold, and then two splash. And she's still slowed. And I'm still trying to look up what incorporeal actually does.
[00:29:46] Speaker B: I got. I got it here, I'll read it.
[00:29:47] Speaker A: Please.
[00:29:48] Speaker B: So, incorporeal. An incorporeal creature or object has no physical form. It can pass through solid objects, including walls, when inside an object, an incorporeal creature cannot perceive, attack, or interact with anything outside the object. And if it starts its turn in an object, it is slowed. One corporeal creatures can pass through incorporeal creature, but they cant end their movement in its space.
An incorporeal creature cant attempt strength based checks against physical creatures or objects, only against incorporeal ones, unless those objects have the ghost touch property rune. Likewise, a corporeal creature can attempt strength based checks against incorporeal creatures or objects.
Incorporeal creatures usually have immunity to effects or conditions that require a physical body, like disease, poison, and precision damage. They usually have resistance against all damage except force damage and damage from strikes with a ghost touch property rune with double the resistance against non magical damage.
[00:30:42] Speaker C: That's insane.
[00:30:43] Speaker A: Wow.
Christine.
[00:30:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:30:48] Speaker A: Hero point.
[00:30:50] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:30:52] Speaker C: I think that's the first time I've ever gotten one outside of, like, start to play.
[00:30:56] Speaker D: That is awesome.
[00:30:57] Speaker A: All right, twin Talon, it is your turn. And Rusty Mae is not. She's. She's there, but not really.
[00:31:07] Speaker B: Okay, so I have some mixed feelings about this one. My attacks are not strength based, so technically, a rogue could just stab the shit out of people if they're incorporeal. I don't really understand that, but I'll take it.
But basically, I think that she would have so much resistance, I would never get through.
[00:31:23] Speaker A: Oh, yes, because I double the resistance against you, though.
[00:31:26] Speaker B: Yeah, well, no, it's just you usually have resistance against all damage, except force damage with double resistance against non magical damage. So my weapons are not non magical, but it's just interesting that a creature can't attempt any strength based checks against physical creature objects, and they're immune.
[00:31:43] Speaker A: Aren't rogues the only one who get Dex to damage, though?
[00:31:48] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's just an odd juxtaposition. Actually, it's the other way around. So an incorporeal creature can't attempt strength based checks. So, like, for instance, if you made Brianna and I incorporeal, her attacks because they're strength based, couldn't go. Go to physical objects, but because I use Dex, I could just stab people as incorporeal. That's really weird. I kind of want to be an incorporeal rogue now.
[00:32:11] Speaker A: I wonder if there's an errata on that, but we'll look at that later.
[00:32:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, this is. I'm looking at archives of Nothis, so hopefully it's updated. But in any case, I mean, that.
[00:32:21] Speaker C: Could be how, like ghosts attack players using dexterity.
[00:32:25] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:32:26] Speaker B: Now that we can't do anything to one another.
[00:32:29] Speaker A: And you can pass through her.
[00:32:32] Speaker B: I can.
[00:32:32] Speaker C: You're just gonna, like neater neener.
[00:32:35] Speaker B: So I could 510.
So I don't know if. Have I. Has. Have I battle medicine Briena yet?
[00:32:46] Speaker A: Yes, you have.
[00:32:48] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:32:49] Speaker B: Okay. Have I battle medicine knife sword yet?
[00:32:52] Speaker A: You have not.
[00:32:54] Speaker B: I think I can barely get to knife sword if I'm counting correctly. What's your shooting in two moves? 30.
[00:33:01] Speaker A: Yeah, you just get to him.
[00:33:03] Speaker B: Okay.
Then twin town is going to make a snap decision and take off running through Rusty Bay, across the room that we were just in to end up next to knife sword.
[00:33:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:20] Speaker B: And he's going to skid to a halt.
Is there a cage around him still?
[00:33:26] Speaker A: There is.
[00:33:28] Speaker B: Shit.
Does it look like it does anything other than just be a cage?
[00:33:33] Speaker A: A cage of cold iron fingernails spring out of nothingness.
[00:33:38] Speaker C: Gross.
[00:33:39] Speaker B: And just last forever.
[00:33:41] Speaker A: It lasts till the end of the day.
[00:33:43] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:33:44] Speaker C: Even if she dies?
[00:33:45] Speaker A: Well, no, obviously not.
[00:33:48] Speaker B: So.
Alright, so twin town is going to kind of skid on his knees to a halt. And using the previously canon syringe of adrenaline plus healing potion, he's going to jam it into knife swords heart and see if he can't get him up and moving.
[00:34:06] Speaker A: All right, this is a DC 15 check, right?
[00:34:10] Speaker B: Correct. I believe that is just as how good I am in medicine. I'm not.
[00:34:13] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:34:13] Speaker B: I'm trained, so I'm not. I don't have any more than that. I did get a 26, which is a crit.
[00:34:18] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:34:19] Speaker B: Which means I think it's 48.
[00:34:23] Speaker A: 48 and. Oh, well, 48.
[00:34:28] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't have any bonuses to double, unfortunately.
Super average 19 hit points and knife sword.
[00:34:38] Speaker A: You wake up from this incredible dream, but you're in a. You're in a iron cage of emotion.
[00:34:49] Speaker B: And also of physical iron and physical iron fingernails.
[00:34:53] Speaker A: It is now knife swords turn. Oh, no. Oh. Holding on.
[00:35:00] Speaker B: I'd like to move her 60ft toward me.
[00:35:02] Speaker A: All right, there you go. So she flaps towards you, flying over the beds. It is now knife swords turn.
[00:35:11] Speaker B: Okay, come on, buddy. We need you in this fight.
Don't mind the cage.
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Hmm. You are no longer blinded.
[00:35:21] Speaker E: That's good.
[00:35:22] Speaker A: Or I'm kind of prone.
[00:35:26] Speaker B: Can he see her from where he is?
[00:35:29] Speaker E: I can just see her. I can't see Saraya. I don't know where she is.
[00:35:34] Speaker A: But don't forget, she is incomporeal.
[00:35:36] Speaker B: So Twintown's gonna point at her and he's gonna say big magic missile.
[00:35:41] Speaker C: Okay, yeah.
[00:35:46] Speaker B: Biggest magic ist missile.
[00:35:50] Speaker E: And we'll cast it at third level.
[00:35:52] Speaker C: Okay, just imagine like, poor knife sword is just like, gets roused from, you know, whatever condition he was in with like a shot to the heart.
Now just like. Okay, magic.
[00:36:07] Speaker A: Alright, so a three action magic missile does how much damage?
[00:36:11] Speaker E: It was six d, four plus six. And I got 19.
[00:36:15] Speaker A: All right. They slam into this ghost form of rusty. She may, but she's still standing. Well, floating.
[00:36:24] Speaker E: That was more like a magic ICBM.
[00:36:28] Speaker A: Alright, it is her turn. She moves towards Saraya, unaware, kind of not knowing what's going on.
And she swings twice. But since they're strength based, they do nothing. Nothing.
[00:36:47] Speaker C: Which is literally the sound Saraya makes.
[00:36:49] Speaker A: It is now Saraya's turn.
[00:36:54] Speaker C: She's like doing a little dance.
So I was looking at how ghost charge works. It deals positive damage, which does not heal her, but does not hurt her unless she has negative healing. But that's fine. I'm still gonna chuck one at her because if it does hit, it leaves her enfeebled. Okay, so let's see if I can. And, uh. Oh, that's gonna miss anyway. It's a 19.
[00:37:20] Speaker A: You do have a hero point. Would you like.
[00:37:23] Speaker C: No, I'm good. Yeah. So. Surya cackles. She's too elated by the fact that nothing happened to actually aim properly. And she's gonna move back into the room with her buddies. Okay, so that's 510 proceedings 2035. She's gonna hang out by one of the beds again.
[00:37:44] Speaker A: You have one more action.
[00:37:46] Speaker C: I do, and I don't really know what I want to do with it because I am not.
I do not have the medicines. Actually, I am trained in medicine, but that doesn't really mean much for someone who's unconscious.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: Do you have battlefield medicine?
[00:38:00] Speaker C: No, I just. I am trained in the medicine skill. I do not have the battle medicine thing. So, yeah, I would not be able to do a whole lot there. I mean, I feel like I might just take two actions this turn because, like, I really honestly don't know what I would do with my third action. I can't.
[00:38:14] Speaker A: You can move again if you'd like.
[00:38:17] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess I'll move to the opposite wall. So I'll take two move actions.
[00:38:21] Speaker A: All right. She suddenly flashes into being corporeal again. And I'm gonna say she's gonna take a d six of damage as she shunted out of the wall.
[00:38:31] Speaker C: Cool.
[00:38:32] Speaker B: Sounds fair.
[00:38:33] Speaker A: So she takes four points of damage as she's shunted out of this wall.
[00:38:38] Speaker C: I would laugh if that was what.
[00:38:39] Speaker A: Killed her twin Talon. I will tell you, Matt.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: Uh huh.
[00:38:44] Speaker A: It is possible for you to kill her.
[00:38:46] Speaker B: I mean, sure.
Um.
Okay, she's back to being corporeal.
I don't have a whole lot of ideas here. So I mean, twin town is going to move up. So he's, uh, he's gonna move back toward Rusty Mae. So he's next to Brianna. He's going to take the stealth action to hide behind the bed. All right, 27 versus her perception.
[00:39:15] Speaker A: Dc you think you're hidden?
[00:39:19] Speaker B: Always do. And then I'm going to attack with eclipse. All right, 26 isn't gonna hit. Flies in there, ricochets around the walls. It comes back.
[00:39:30] Speaker A: Sword. What are you doing? Whoa.
[00:39:32] Speaker B: Bam.
[00:39:34] Speaker E: It worked last time. Let's do it again.
[00:39:36] Speaker A: So magic flies into Rusty May for 20.
Only had 14 points left. Oh, and she drops, expanding back to her, her full size and getting stuck in her death hallway.
[00:39:55] Speaker B: I feel like she expands and you hear just like bones crunching as she just awkwardly resizes.
[00:40:02] Speaker C: Is that hallway just blocked off now? We can't get in there.
[00:40:05] Speaker B: We'll get there eventually.
[00:40:06] Speaker E: Can we sleep now?
[00:40:08] Speaker A: There are beds.
[00:40:11] Speaker B: Okay, so Twintown is going to get Brianna up on one of the beds.
[00:40:15] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:16] Speaker B: And he's gonna tell Taesani to basically watch over her.
[00:40:22] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:22] Speaker B: And then he is going to take a very stealthy. He's gonna use stealth. And since he can move at full speed when stealthing, he's just gonna take a loop around because it feels like it's a loop. Like there was the room that we were in at the top and it looked like it connected to the room that has the portal in it to the east. So he's just gonna take a loop around, make sure there's nothing else hiding that we haven't that's gonna ambush us.
[00:40:42] Speaker A: Yep. So as you loop around, you see, you go into that one room and you see the books, the cauldron, the portal. And you are absolutely right. You go back into the deadly tree room. Nothing there.
Come back around, you see the busted statue with the pinned hag on the wall. And then you come back into the room where everyone is sleeping while everyone's crawling on beds.
[00:41:06] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, it would be funny if the cage, like, they made it, but because nice swords, so small, like, he just like walked through the bars. That'd be fun.
[00:41:15] Speaker A: Well, it starts to rust as soon as she dies.
As it rusts, he pushes his way through.
[00:41:21] Speaker B: Okay, so twintalon, once he gets back, is going to try to just treat wounds on Brianna to get her awake. Okay, what's. What's sorrea up to?
[00:41:32] Speaker A: Yeah, Soraya, what are you doing? Well, twin Talon is doing that in about ten minutes.
[00:41:37] Speaker C: I feel like she is also definitely just curling up on a bent.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:41:42] Speaker C: She's just like, ugh. She's like rifling through her pack. Just like. There has to be another one in here. I've never used them all at once.
[00:41:51] Speaker A: Okay, knife, sword. What are you doing?
Not even waiting. He's just out on the bed. Got it.
[00:42:02] Speaker B: Makes sense.
[00:42:03] Speaker A: All right, twin Talon, go ahead and make that heal check, please.
[00:42:08] Speaker B: 24. So success. Not critical. Success.
[00:42:11] Speaker A: So that's two d eight healing.
[00:42:14] Speaker B: But it does get rid of the dying condition.
[00:42:17] Speaker A: It does get rid of the dying.
[00:42:20] Speaker C: Which managed to avoid dying.
[00:42:23] Speaker B: Yeah. So 13 hit points to Brianna and her dying value goes to zero.
[00:42:28] Speaker A: But you are still deft.
[00:42:30] Speaker D: Oh, I miss.
[00:42:30] Speaker B: She's deaf.
[00:42:32] Speaker A: Yes, you need.
[00:42:33] Speaker D: No.
[00:42:35] Speaker A: Oh, no, no, no. Everything is cleared. Everything is cleared.
[00:42:38] Speaker D: Thank goodness.
[00:42:39] Speaker A: Would anyone else like to do anything? Brianna, you wake up on a bed.
[00:42:45] Speaker C: Welcome back.
[00:42:47] Speaker D: Oh. All over.
What did I miss?
[00:42:52] Speaker B: We took care of the hags and I think we're gonna rest up here.
[00:42:59] Speaker C: We all need. I think we all need some sleep.
[00:43:02] Speaker D: I'm sorry I went down so quick.
[00:43:04] Speaker B: When you hung in there. We. We all went down at one point or another. So I think. Yeah, I think the time now is to rest. Not for blaming anybody.
[00:43:15] Speaker D: Okay, fair enough.
[00:43:18] Speaker A: So everyone lays down on a bed. They are slightly uncomfortable, don't care.
[00:43:25] Speaker B: Mine's got slime on it.
[00:43:28] Speaker A: And you all, I'm assuming you all rest for the night.
[00:43:31] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, probably.
[00:43:33] Speaker B: Yeah, we probably. It's. We probably have the intention of like setting watches or anything, but we're probably so exhausted it just. We just pass out.
[00:43:41] Speaker A: All right.
[00:43:41] Speaker B: Hey, there's a bed for Taysani. Okay, good. There's five beds here.
[00:43:45] Speaker A: Jasper.
[00:43:45] Speaker C: Just nests and surveys here.
[00:43:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I saw Jasper as I was running around. He's still in the western room.
[00:43:50] Speaker C: Oh, is he? Oh, no. Pull him in with me now.
[00:43:52] Speaker A: So everyone rests for the night and recovers some hit points and wake up.
[00:43:58] Speaker B: On our 10th level.
[00:44:01] Speaker A: All right, so you all wake up and you've lost the dying condition.
[00:44:06] Speaker B: That's good.
[00:44:07] Speaker A: Or wounded condition. All right. So you all wake up. You're still not fully healed.
[00:44:11] Speaker B: That's fine.
[00:44:12] Speaker A: Nope.
[00:44:13] Speaker B: We can take some time.
[00:44:14] Speaker C: And we want a round of. Yeah, we want a round of, uh, elixirs of life.
[00:44:19] Speaker B: Sure. If you're passing them out, we can also do the. Just regular healing, probably since it's the.
[00:44:24] Speaker D: Next day, wouldn't we be able to do some more or different.
[00:44:28] Speaker A: Yeah, kind of healing.
[00:44:30] Speaker C: Yeah, let's do that. And then we can top off if we have to.
[00:44:34] Speaker E: Is that nightmare still laying on the ground over there?
[00:44:36] Speaker A: The hag?
[00:44:37] Speaker E: No, no, the horse that we.
[00:44:38] Speaker A: Oh, the horse. Yes, it is still laying there, smoking.
[00:44:43] Speaker E: I'm gonna go over and carve a steak out of it.
[00:44:45] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:44:47] Speaker B: It's pre cooked.
[00:44:49] Speaker A: It is.
Tasani is also scavenging some meat off the horse.
[00:44:55] Speaker B: So checks out.
Treating wounds takes ten minutes, and then you are immune to it for 1 hour so we can, you know, heal circle. Yeah. Brianna is the best of us as healing.
[00:45:08] Speaker A: I believe I'm going to assume that you are all going to take the copious amount of hours to heal to full. Does that sound right?
[00:45:17] Speaker C: Why not?
[00:45:18] Speaker A: Yeah. Brianna, you also get your scimitar back.
Your shield is back to being. Having all the spikes and is repaired as well. Well, you also have time to explore and in that other room, if you'd like, in the hour between healing.
[00:45:38] Speaker C: I would like to do that.
[00:45:40] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:45:41] Speaker B: Oh, and just, just as a matter of order, in the book, it specifically says that the ten minutes you're being healed counts towards your hour. So it's ten minutes of healing and then 50 minutes of not getting healed. It's not 70 minutes total.
[00:45:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
50 minutes of searching the other room and then you all get back together. He'll search the room. So as you are searching, you notice that the knife sword, I'm assuming at some point you detect magic and you see that there is magic in the room.
Who's looking at the books on the table?
[00:46:13] Speaker B: Twin town. Look at the books on the table.
[00:46:15] Speaker C: I'm interested in the cauldron, Matt.
[00:46:18] Speaker A: As you are looking at the books, you notice that they are about the nature and worship of God. Names. Why names, anyway?
[00:46:33] Speaker E: That is a long title.
[00:46:35] Speaker C: Spell it out.
[00:46:36] Speaker A: Ma ha fa Allah.
[00:46:43] Speaker C: Mahafala.
[00:46:45] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:46:46] Speaker C: Mahathala.
[00:46:49] Speaker A: Double l a. But yes, I just type mahathala.
[00:46:54] Speaker B: As good as anything else.
[00:46:56] Speaker A: Yep. So there are ten books there. Nine of them are not magical. However, the 10th book looks like it has a ritual in there that has been heavily annotated in infernal.
[00:47:13] Speaker B: I speak infernal, don't I?
[00:47:15] Speaker A: I don't think you do. I think you speak.
[00:47:17] Speaker B: Do you? I speak one of those languages.
[00:47:20] Speaker A: Oh, no. You do speak infernal. Look at that. Yeah. Okay, so the. The infernal markings look like annotations to the spell.
And it looks like someone has been marking it in hopes of bringing back some. Someone to life. The person that. You see the name Albesta written there, and you see the name Kalini written and then crossed out.
[00:47:50] Speaker D: Asbestos. Got it.
[00:47:51] Speaker A: Asbestos. Yes.
[00:47:52] Speaker B: Kalini. Did we meet someone named Kalini?
[00:47:55] Speaker A: Yes. It was one of the hags. Oh, nicer.
[00:48:00] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:48:01] Speaker A: You find two shiny rocks on the desk.
[00:48:08] Speaker E: Oh, I instantly picked them up.
[00:48:10] Speaker A: They. They do reek of magic.
[00:48:13] Speaker E: I banged them together.
[00:48:15] Speaker B: Nothing happens.
[00:48:18] Speaker E: I taste them.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: They taste magical. Give me. As you taste them. Give me an arcana check.
[00:48:26] Speaker C: I love knife sword.
[00:48:27] Speaker A: Uh, Saraya?
[00:48:29] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm checking out the cauldron.
[00:48:30] Speaker A: This mid sized silver cauldron has etchings on it and has, like, vegetables etched on the side of it. It seems surprisingly untarnished.
[00:48:45] Speaker C: Can I make some kind of knowledge chick about it?
[00:48:48] Speaker A: Yes. Give me a arcana. Nature, occultism or religion.
[00:48:54] Speaker C: Okay, I'll go. Arcana.
[00:48:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:48:58] Speaker C: That's my highest one.
I rolled a three. That's 22.
[00:49:05] Speaker A: A 22 is enough. This is called a bountiful cauldron. This mid sized silver cauldron is a boon within areas where access to fresh food is limited, for it can be commanded to fill itself with a hearty and delicious vegetable stew. It can also be put to much greater use in the pursuit of crafting certain items. When used to craft alchemical items, potions or oils, a bountiful cauldron grants a two item bonus to the crafting check for three actions. Once per day, you stir the cauldron and it casts the fourth level. Create food spell, filling itself with enough delicious vegetable to feed twelve medium creatures. Or 24 knife swords.
[00:49:54] Speaker C: I think it's still just twelve knife swords.
I know you said it's a mid sized cauldron. Is that like two bulk sized? Four cauldron?
[00:50:04] Speaker A: Two bulk, two bulk.
[00:50:07] Speaker C: I think I can spare that. I don't carry much.
[00:50:09] Speaker A: All right. Knife sword.
[00:50:12] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:50:13] Speaker A: Your knowledge?
[00:50:16] Speaker E: I got a 21.
[00:50:17] Speaker A: Alright.
You recognize these both as dream stones?
A dream stone is a disk shaped object carved with imagery or words sacred to Desna, be it her religious symbol, a short prayer, or merely the shape of a single star. When you carry a dream stone, you find it easier to fall asleep and you gained improved effects from the rest of result. You always fall asleep within five minutes of lying down with the intention of sleeping. And you require only 2 hours of sleep per day to gain the full benefits of 8 hours of sleep provided you carry the dream stone for 24 hours prior to resting. As long as you carry a dream stone, you gain a two item bonus to saving throws against sleep effects.
[00:51:03] Speaker E: So if I carry two, that's doubled, right. It's only 1 hour of sleep.
[00:51:07] Speaker A: Also once per day as a single interact action. If the next action you use is to cast a spell of fourth level or lower that has the sleep trait or is associated with dreams, the spell slot is not expended.
[00:51:23] Speaker E: I'm gonna go give one to Saraya. Just warn her that I licked it.
[00:51:28] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:51:31] Speaker C: Jasper actually just fluffs off his feathers on at first when he tells her that, but. Thank you. But um. What did you. Very, very shiny. I don't think she.
[00:51:43] Speaker E: It's a. It's a sleepy stone.
[00:51:46] Speaker C: I need one of these in real life just for that. You fall asleep within five minutes.
[00:51:50] Speaker A: I was thinking the same thing.
[00:51:56] Speaker C: Oh, um, real quick before we do anything, like when he gives me the stone, I like definitely activate the cauldron and I'm just like eat your fill and try to leave some to the rest of us.
[00:52:07] Speaker E: Can I attempt to drain the cauldron?
[00:52:10] Speaker A: You jump into the cauldron and start bathing and eating it. That's.
[00:52:14] Speaker C: I.
Not what I meant. I can only do that once a day.
[00:52:20] Speaker B: I also like that knife sword. Gave the thing to make people sleep less and have spell slots not expended to a person who doesn't sleep and also doesn't have spell slots.
[00:52:31] Speaker A: Yeah, well I didn't know that he.
[00:52:33] Speaker D: Has two of them.
[00:52:35] Speaker C: I mean as far as he's concerned, I'm sure I'm the other finger magic.
[00:52:40] Speaker B: One, but I just think that was interesting. An interesting choice. Oh, you don't sleep. Have this thing to let you not have to sleep. Oh, thank you, Brianna.
[00:52:49] Speaker A: Can you give me a religion roll please?
[00:52:53] Speaker D: Yep, I rolled a 21.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: So as knife sword hands, Saraya, the dream stone, you look at it and that is what you realize it is.
[00:53:05] Speaker D: You know that thing is cursed right? That dream stone.
[00:53:11] Speaker C: Cursed?
[00:53:12] Speaker D: Basically what it does, yes.
If you are exposed to it for too long, your sleep is corrupted, can create nightmares. It also basically preys on you via supernatural sleeping. It's. It's bad news. Basically. Anybody who's carrying it, you, you will be sapped, essentially, of will. Let's put it that way.
So let's.
Let's be careful carrying that around or using it at all. So let's put it away or wrap it up and then seal it or something. I don't like it. It should not be trusted.
[00:54:02] Speaker C: Both. Just one of them.
[00:54:04] Speaker D: Let me look at the other one.
[00:54:06] Speaker E: I'm using it to write my name on the wall.
[00:54:09] Speaker D: No, don't use it at all, please. 25.
That. That one is actually a good dream stone. The one you're holding is a cursed one.
[00:54:18] Speaker C: Sorry. I just kind of looked at it. I mean, I already have nightmares on regularly. Have I not discussed that with you?
[00:54:25] Speaker D: Yes, but does it seep the life out of you? Basically. Do you really want that for yourself?
[00:54:32] Speaker C: Is there a way to break?
[00:54:39] Speaker D: I don't know, Shawn. Can I?
[00:54:41] Speaker A: Um. I don't believe you can. So basically what happened. What happened is this dream stone has been surrounded by the hags for too long.
[00:54:56] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:54:57] Speaker A: And just the hags have their. Their evilness, essentially has cursed it, made it a cursed dream stone.
[00:55:07] Speaker C: So instead of doing any of the stuff knife, sword, said, it just, like, leeches the life out of you.
[00:55:13] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:55:14] Speaker B: And as a note, I looked again. And elves do sleep. I was totally wrong.
That is something they dropped for Pathfinder two e specifically.
[00:55:22] Speaker A: Oh, neat.
[00:55:23] Speaker C: Yeah, like, they're.
I especially was like. Because, like, they don't have any of the sleep resistances anymore.
[00:55:30] Speaker A: Oh. I also don't think I was very good about explaining things to you, Matt. That last tome that's completely marked up contains two divine rituals. Planar ally and resurrect.
[00:55:46] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:55:46] Speaker C: Oh, damn.
[00:55:47] Speaker B: I would like to learn them at some point.
[00:55:50] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:55:51] Speaker B: Because you don't need to be a spellcaster to learn rituals or to cast rituals.
[00:55:56] Speaker A: Or you can sell it for 250 gold.
[00:55:59] Speaker B: I mean, can't we do both?
[00:56:00] Speaker A: I mean, yeah.
[00:56:02] Speaker D: Porque nodostos.
[00:56:04] Speaker A: Also, the books are one bulk each, just so you know. But the other text, the other nine are worth 20 gold.
[00:56:14] Speaker B: What are they? It's like diaries, journals.
[00:56:18] Speaker A: They're. They're. They're information about this ancient deity that I can't pronounce.
[00:56:25] Speaker C: Mahathala?
[00:56:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:56:28] Speaker B: Yes, both.
[00:56:29] Speaker D: Okay. Got it.
[00:56:31] Speaker C: Also, I want to know how big these books are or how small this cauldron is. That two books equals one cauldron.
[00:56:38] Speaker A: They're thick tomes. They're thick.
Two c's. Thick tomes.
[00:56:44] Speaker C: Two or three c's.
[00:56:45] Speaker D: Oh, man. Excuse me.
[00:56:48] Speaker B: So I just want to read a little excerpt here from the curse section to break the mood and ruin everything. A curse is an effect that places some long term affliction on a creature. Curses are always magical and are typically the result of a spell or a trap. Effects with this trait can be removed only by effects that specifically target curses. Afflictions with this trait are manifestations of potent ill will. A curse either lasts a specified amount of time or can be removed only by certain actions a character must perform or conditions they must meet. Curses with stages. Follow the rules for afflictions. So from that, it sounds like curses can be broken by something. So I'm sure there's a spell called, like, break curse. Yeah, remove curse, probably that we could find someone to cast on it to remove it. Or it could be that we need to put it under the pillow of a hundred sleeping elves to make it go away or some other ridiculous thing we would need to do.
[00:57:42] Speaker A: But, yeah, this could be Chekhov's cursed dream stone, though.
[00:57:47] Speaker B: What? What? We have to use it later. What are you talking about?
[00:57:51] Speaker C: Like, if it's introduced in book three, we have to use it in book six.
[00:57:58] Speaker B: That's what we'll do. When the big, bad evil person reveals themselves. We'll slip it into their pocket and pretend everything's cool and then just let.
[00:58:06] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll just like, put it. We'll put it, like, into like, a necklace and be like, oh, you have to wear this all the time.
[00:58:15] Speaker B: But. Awesome.
So I'm hoping we can figure out how to make the dreamstone not cursed. It'd be nice to have more than one of them. And additionally, it's very cool we got some rituals. I don't think rituals have really been touched on in the first two books at all. And it's something that's new to second edition. If I. Of course, it was probably in like a splat book or something, or some other book for first edition that got put out since there were so many Pathfinder first edition books.
[00:58:43] Speaker A: No, they weren't that many.
[00:58:46] Speaker B: I have a full bookcase downstairs that says otherwise, but yeah. So that's cool. I'm excited. I don't know what the timeline is on learning rituals, but I'm sure it'll be a thing we do. Not anytime soon.
[00:59:00] Speaker A: I think the most important ritual you have learned is resurrection.
[00:59:06] Speaker B: Yeah. No, that's great.
[00:59:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:59:09] Speaker C: That seems like an important one.
[00:59:11] Speaker A: It only takes one day to cast each of those rituals, Matt.
[00:59:15] Speaker B: To cast them. Yes. Assuming that we make all of our checks. Yeah.
[00:59:20] Speaker A: So you know what? I feel like this is good place to end this episode?
[00:59:28] Speaker C: I think so.
[00:59:28] Speaker A: With you succeeding, defeating Rusty May, finding some rituals, getting a bountiful cauldron.
You know, it's. It's been a couple hours. Well, hours healing.
[00:59:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:59:43] Speaker A: And whatnot.
[00:59:44] Speaker C: Right.
[00:59:45] Speaker D: Taking inventory of how we are. Yep. For sure.
[00:59:48] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:59:48] Speaker B: So just before we go going forward, that portal on the eastern wall there looks like the only way out of here, right, other than the way we came in.
[00:59:55] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:59:56] Speaker B: All right, so I guess that's where we'll be going next week.
[00:59:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Or you guys can. This could be your new home.
[01:00:01] Speaker B: Yeah, just kidding. We're gonna go back and do eight more episodes of Citadel construction.
[01:00:06] Speaker C: Yeah. Just renovating Citadel.
[01:00:08] Speaker D: Bye for it.
[01:00:09] Speaker B: Everyone loves Jupiter.
