[00:00:39] Speaker A: Bonjour at the avenue dawn's last. Okay, I was going to try and do the whole thing in French, but why?
[00:00:46] Speaker B: Why don's the question, dans, you're a theater kid.
[00:00:50] Speaker C: Why not just go with, like, the cabaret, like, ville command. Bienvenue.
[00:00:55] Speaker A: Now, welcome to the 79th episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:01:03] Speaker B: Woo hoo hoo hoo.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: We finished the book two. The book that would never end, right.
[00:01:10] Speaker D: Of the jungle into the fire. I think that's how it goes, I guess. Certainly something like that.
[00:01:15] Speaker A: So at the end of the last playing session, not where we chatted about the book, but the last session, everyone leveled up.
[00:01:24] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:01:25] Speaker A: So I would like to find out what the heck happens to your characters at level nine. And then I had a nightmare scenario where if you all survived to level ten, you get an attribute bump even more terrifying.
[00:01:39] Speaker D: I'm not sure why that's the thing. That's scary.
I mean, it's just, like, things that we do, we do it plus one. Like. Yeah, like, that's kind of minor compared to I'm. We're level nine, right? So. So knife sword having fifth level spells, that scares you less than us getting plus one strength or Dex or whatever.
[00:02:00] Speaker A: Only because I figure knife sword will be able to increase his attribute that helps his spells. So their spells are going to be even worse.
[00:02:09] Speaker D: They're just harder to resist.
[00:02:10] Speaker E: I'm sure only my spells were changed by that attribute.
[00:02:16] Speaker A: Okay, let's go down the list, starting with Christine. What the heck happens to Saraya at level nine?
[00:02:26] Speaker C: Alrighty, so I have a skill increase, which means that now, as well as being a master of crafting, I am a master of Arcana. That's fun. I have an ancestry feat. So now Saraya is also a tree climber. I have a climb speed of 10ft because we all remember the rope scenario in book one. And let's just not do that again.
So that seemed useful.
Let me see.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: Rob specifically remembers the rope scenario, and it feels good.
[00:02:58] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, no, yeah. That was awesome.
[00:03:01] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:03:02] Speaker E: Uh huh. Excuse me, I have to go check my itunes right back.
[00:03:09] Speaker C: I have alchemical expertise and alertness now. So the proficiency for my class, DC is expert and my perception is expert. And I also have double brew. So when I'm using quick alchemy, which is when I'm making things on the fly, I can spend two batches in one action and make two bombs at the same time. So that's fun. So now I can, like, make throw throw instead of, like, make throw make. Wait, that's gonna be a lot of fun. My new formulas, because I do get those at every level. I have the crystal shards formula now, so I can chuck a little bottle of stuff that makes crystals everywhere that count as caltrops on the floor and hurt people. And I also have the moderate elixir of life, as well as the minor and lesser versions. All right, I think that's it all.
[00:03:58] Speaker A: Not a bad. Not a bad level for you. Sounds good.
[00:04:03] Speaker B: Yeah, y'all.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Yeah, funny.
[00:04:06] Speaker B: Hello.
[00:04:07] Speaker A: What happened to Briana?
[00:04:10] Speaker B: Oh, she's no longer part of the party. She decided to strike.
[00:04:16] Speaker C: Don't do this to me.
[00:04:19] Speaker B: Brianna got a whole bunch of fun things as well. Also a skill increase. Since she is brawny, I decided to put to boost up her athletics. So she is now a master in athletics.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you know, she's in the front. Might as well give her all the advantages to. To that. That being said, she also gained an ancestry feat, which I think I will hold off explaining that until it comes out in game, if that is okay.
[00:04:53] Speaker A: Sounds great.
[00:04:54] Speaker D: But what if we want to know now? What if we need to know now?
[00:04:59] Speaker B: Well, then you'll just have to wait.
[00:05:01] Speaker A: You'll have to stay tuned and keep listening to the podcast.
[00:05:04] Speaker D: Oh, but that's so much time.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: Look, you've already invested 79 episodes, so.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: Yeah, keep waiting then, and shiver within. T, sir.
[00:05:14] Speaker D: Say it.
Patient.
[00:05:21] Speaker E: How you do? I see you've met my faithful handy.
[00:05:31] Speaker A: Okay, yes, yes.
[00:05:35] Speaker B: She definitely got a whole bunch of things. I said skill increase. I said ancestry feat, which I will explain later on. She also got champion expertise, which ultimately means that her prayers are strengthened with my divine power. And the proficiency ranks boost up for divine spell roles. And DC's that. Yeah, they increase to expert, I believe. What else? What else? I get divine smite, juggernaut, and lightning reflexes, which is a pretty cool good level for Brianna, I think.
[00:06:13] Speaker D: So what does divine smite change for your smite? Evil.
[00:06:17] Speaker B: So what it changes is that I am able to punish those that ensnare my allies into bondage. If the triggering enemy was using effects like grab, restrain, immobilize, or paralyzed while I use liberating step, the enemy takes persistent good damage equal to my charisma modifier.
[00:06:37] Speaker D: That's right, Sean. More persistent damage track, at which is three.
[00:06:41] Speaker A: Three persistent damage right now.
[00:06:44] Speaker B: You're welcome.
[00:06:44] Speaker C: What can I say?
[00:06:45] Speaker D: Now I know what Shawn's scared of. Next level.
[00:06:48] Speaker A: What is at the floor, and everyone. Everyone's hit points just went up as well.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: Yep, yep.
[00:06:55] Speaker C: Oh, of course.
[00:06:56] Speaker B: Oh, also, being a juggernaut.
[00:06:58] Speaker A: You.
[00:06:59] Speaker B: Yeah. Don't roll fortitude saves against me. Cause it doesn't matter.
[00:07:04] Speaker D: Or do please, please win all your fortitude saves against Brianna.
[00:07:08] Speaker B: Just me, though.
[00:07:11] Speaker A: Well, I'm going to skip Twintalon for right now. Oh, we're going to go to knife sword.
Rob, what happened?
What happens to knife sword at level nine?
[00:07:31] Speaker E: He gets the ability to send a giant floating eyeball around, and that's what I'm excited about.
[00:07:39] Speaker C: Come again?
[00:07:40] Speaker E: It's a spell that just. I can. It's like, have you ever played warcraft? It's like Kilrog's eye. I can just send it around and look at things.
[00:07:48] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness.
[00:07:49] Speaker C: Oh, Jesus.
[00:07:50] Speaker A: So you get fifth level spells, is what you're telling me?
[00:07:52] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, whatever. But it's an eyeball you're not getting. It's an eyeball that just floats around and I can flip anywhere.
[00:08:02] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
[00:08:05] Speaker D: You're in the shower. Eyeball line of the DMV. Eyeball.
[00:08:09] Speaker B: It could be anywhere eyeball.
[00:08:14] Speaker C: I mean, if you just have the eyeball hanging around at all points in time, I'm gonna remind you, my familiar is a raven.
Eyeball's gonna get pecked.
[00:08:24] Speaker D: Is it small enough to put in his mouth? Cause that'd be fun.
[00:08:27] Speaker C: I doubt it. But we've all seen that Jasper does not really care.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: This is true.
[00:08:31] Speaker E: I'm thinking the main purpose for this is while I'm taking a nap in the backpack, I can put the eyeball out and see what's going on, if I really want to drop out or not, you know?
[00:08:40] Speaker D: Okay. Makes sense.
[00:08:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:42] Speaker E: Plus we can play, like, you know, volleyball with it and, you know, tennis and.
[00:08:50] Speaker A: Does the eyeball have a name?
[00:08:52] Speaker C: Let me tell you about my eyeball.
[00:08:55] Speaker E: Probably not. It probably lasts for, like, a minute.
[00:09:01] Speaker A: Okay. Anything else we want to talk about for your level up, for just. Just the eyeball?
[00:09:07] Speaker E: I mean, honestly, that's the thing I'm most excited about, so I really didn't pay attention to the rest of it.
[00:09:12] Speaker D: Is that a spell that you got, or is that something like. Is that part of your ancestry feat?
[00:09:17] Speaker A: Like what?
[00:09:17] Speaker E: No, that's a spell. I mean, I may have gotten something where I can grow blisters on people, you know? I don't know.
And what was the other thing? Oh, I can. Yeah, do something with shadows. I don't know, but eyeball.
Focus on the eyeball.
[00:09:34] Speaker A: The eyeball is one inch in diameter.
[00:09:36] Speaker E: I know how you think I'm gonna get in and out of the backpack?
[00:09:39] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. That's definitely edible. By Jasper I just mean it could.
[00:09:43] Speaker D: Hold it in its mouth like in. What is it? Erie, Indiana. Was that the thing with the raven with the eyeball in its mouth like at the beginning of it? Goosebumps. There was some tv show at the very beginning. There was like a crow or a raven with a. With an eyeball in its mouth.
[00:09:56] Speaker B: I don't remember.
[00:09:57] Speaker C: I don't either. But yeah, I'm just. Just telling you if it's just hanging around Jasper's gonna eat it. You're gonna get a great view of the inside of an alchemical familiar.
[00:10:06] Speaker E: You know that's gonna be terrifying for me.
[00:10:08] Speaker C: Oh absolutely.
[00:10:11] Speaker D: He's gonna assume that's what happened to everybody in the group. Oh yeah, that too.
[00:10:18] Speaker C: Clearly. This just means that like Saraya as the master of a seagull is the most intimidating party member.
[00:10:26] Speaker E: Why do you think I'm not in her backpack?
[00:10:30] Speaker C: I don't think she has one.
[00:10:33] Speaker A: Okay, let's go to Matt. Twin Talon.
[00:10:38] Speaker D: What happened so specifically at level nine? What happened was I finally cracked the hundred mark on hit points. Hooray.
I also took a feat called Kwa Bond. Since he is a member of a Qua, he technically already has the skill that that would give him. So instead I took medicine. I increased acrobatics to master so now I can fall very far without taking damage. I don't remember if I have, but I have catfall which allows me to fall. I think it's like 30ft at this point and just land on my feet and not worry about it. My skill feat for this level, because I always get one, is battle medicine. So I can help out in the midst of combat. Maybe myself even.
[00:11:20] Speaker B: It is appreciated.
[00:11:21] Speaker D: Yeah, qua bond gives me assurance in the qua skill which is nature. So I have assurance in nature which.
[00:11:26] Speaker A: Means you can forgo rolling and just take a 21 right now.
[00:11:32] Speaker D: Exactly. Yes. I can take a 21 on nature checks if I just want to do that.
Look out nature enemies. I know your deal. And then you can now set up.
[00:11:43] Speaker A: That camp for when you're exploring the moangi expanse again. Oh no.
[00:11:52] Speaker D: I got great fortitude so fortitude saves her expert. And the cool thing for rogues at this level is debilitating strike. Debilitating strike is a free action that if you hit a flat footed target and deal damage, which is like my whole time in combat, I can apply a condition to them which lasts until the end of my next turn. The ones I start with this level are either I can give them a negative ten status penalty to their speed. Or I can make them enfeebled one.
[00:12:29] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:12:29] Speaker D: Which means if I hit twice a round, I could do both of those things. There's no limit to the amount of debilitations you can stack on someone, but you can only apply one per attack. So I could literally just keep somebody slow and weak until they're dead, and that's pretty fantastic later on.
[00:12:46] Speaker A: Uh huh. Yeah, yeah, it's great.
[00:12:48] Speaker D: Uh huh. And later on, like, next level, it's gonna get even better. Slash worse. So I'm. I'm very excited. Debilitations are definitely a nice little added twist of the knife for rogues, as it were. And, yeah, it's a fun level. Level nine.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: I don't want to play anymore.
[00:13:11] Speaker C: This was all your idea, so I.
[00:13:13] Speaker D: Know you made us play this game.
[00:13:18] Speaker A: Well, that just means I'm going to have to put more stronger bad guys. More stronger.
[00:13:25] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:13:26] Speaker A: This is what you guys have done to me.
[00:13:27] Speaker D: I mean, that could technically be correct. If there are more of them and they are stronger, there are more stronger bad guys.
Punctuation is important.
[00:13:38] Speaker C: Oxford comma, baby.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: All right, so after three weeks of gallivanting. That's what we'll call it. Gallivanting.
[00:13:48] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:13:49] Speaker A: Through the Mwangi expanse, you have all returned home.
Well, three of you have returned home to Breach Hill. Knife, sword, you're the showing up to Breach Hill for the first time. You go back through Hunter's gate. You notice that the pulsing lava walls are less red at this point. They're more onyx, looking as if the lava has cooled and hardened. And you appear back in the basement, or sub basement, I guess, of your citadel.
[00:14:31] Speaker C: Shall we go say hello to everyone?
[00:14:33] Speaker D: Yes, we should.
[00:14:34] Speaker B: We should probably tell them the news. Yes.
[00:14:36] Speaker D: Yeah. And see what everybody's been up to while we're, uh, what hezzle and the group's been up to since we've been gone.
[00:14:42] Speaker C: Is knife sword in the backpack still?
[00:14:44] Speaker A: Probably, yeah, he was sleeping in there.
[00:14:48] Speaker C: She's just gonna lean into that. She would just be like, oh, we have to introduce him to the bramble rashers, don't we?
[00:14:55] Speaker B: Yes. This could be very, very good. Or very, very bad. Hey. Hey, knife sword. Want to make friends?
[00:15:03] Speaker E: Just a second. Taking some measurements.
[00:15:06] Speaker B: What?
How. How are you taking measurements in my backpack?
[00:15:11] Speaker E: Okay, that's good. I'm out.
[00:15:13] Speaker B: What?
I was going to ask.
[00:15:16] Speaker A: Or.
[00:15:17] Speaker B: I was asking, do you want to make new friends?
[00:15:20] Speaker E: Okay. Are they edible?
[00:15:23] Speaker B: No. They are like you. We have goblins living in this. Keep I'm edible.
Let's just go upstairs. Come on.
[00:15:32] Speaker C: They did want to eat the little half lynch shoes.
[00:15:35] Speaker B: Yes. Yes, they did.
Onwards.
[00:15:40] Speaker A: So you all head up to the courtyard, which has been cleared out, and it looks much better than when you left. You see warble frantically pointing and gesturing to the other goblins. And she looks up from what looks like blueprints and smiles and waves at you.
[00:16:06] Speaker B: Are these blueprints that we've agreed upon, or is she, like, putting a goblin shopping mall?
[00:16:14] Speaker A: She's gentrifying. Don't worry.
[00:16:16] Speaker E: This place is awesome.
[00:16:25] Speaker C: Oh, dear.
[00:16:26] Speaker B: Brianna will approach Warville.
[00:16:28] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: Waves and kind of offer her hands to shake. I don't remember if we were at the point of friendship where I could, like, scoop her up and hug her, but.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
[00:16:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, Brianna will do that. She missed her. Her buddy.
It is good to see you, warble. I'm guessing warble would be able to see the goblin peeking out of Brianna's.
[00:16:53] Speaker D: Backpack at this point, especially when you have her up. When you pick her up, they probably come eye to eye. She's, like, peering over your shoulder.
Who is this?
[00:17:00] Speaker C: I just imagine that we just get, like, all of a sudden, like, hello. It's just that, like, soft pink filter. And I've sort of just like, that's.
[00:17:07] Speaker E: The most beautiful cobbler I've ever seen.
[00:17:13] Speaker B: Oh, yes.
[00:17:15] Speaker D: Let's get it on, please.
[00:17:16] Speaker B: Here. Let's whisper.
[00:17:21] Speaker E: So are you the architect?
[00:17:26] Speaker A: Um, I I don't remember her voice.
[00:17:29] Speaker B: I.
[00:17:30] Speaker A: It's been so long.
[00:17:31] Speaker D: Everyone else has been I listening to this for so long. No one will remember. It's fine.
[00:17:35] Speaker B: It's true.
[00:17:36] Speaker C: Please don't go back to episode one and correct us. Nobody wants to listen to that sound quality.
[00:17:44] Speaker A: I've been working on cleaning up the courtyard like you asked.
We've started making some general repairs to the stairs and everything else. We've also started working on rebuilding the battlements because she's so cute.
[00:18:06] Speaker B: Shawn just put her picture back up again.
[00:18:11] Speaker E: So if you get some time sometime, I need some pointers on a project. I'm working at my place.
You know, some interior decorating and stuff.
[00:18:25] Speaker A: Okay, that sounds amenable.
[00:18:29] Speaker B: No. No, it's not, because it's in my backpack. What are you doing back there? What do you mean your place? What do you mean interior decoration? Get out. Out. She likes chicken out of her backpack. Up ends the backpack.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: You see some, like, lumber start falling out too. Like, where he was reinforcing things.
[00:18:49] Speaker C: How did you do this?
It's okay.
[00:18:55] Speaker E: It's okay. I needed to reorganize anyway. I'll be back later.
[00:18:59] Speaker B: Now.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: Vorbol looks at you and what is.
[00:19:08] Speaker D: What are they?
[00:19:10] Speaker A: Who is that?
[00:19:11] Speaker E: These are boards.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: She's. She's asking Brianna, who is that?
[00:19:19] Speaker B: This is knife sword.
We met them in the jungle. They were in some trouble, and we rescued them, and now they're on.
They've followed us through the hunter's gate, so I'm guessing they're part of our party now. And apparently, my newest resident. I'm going to charge you rent if you're going to be living in my backpack.
[00:19:47] Speaker E: I was thinking more of, like, a timeshare.
[00:19:49] Speaker B: No.
[00:19:52] Speaker C: If it's a timeshare.
[00:19:53] Speaker E: No, seriously, we can trade off. I'll let you use some of the space of mine at my manner, and you can have. I can use the backpack.
[00:20:01] Speaker C: You have a manner?
[00:20:01] Speaker B: Your manner.
[00:20:03] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:20:04] Speaker D: Mm hmm.
[00:20:05] Speaker E: It's lavish.
[00:20:06] Speaker B: Is there a sense motive?
[00:20:07] Speaker C: I can roll.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: Just so you guys remember what the citadel looks like, I'm sharing a map, obviously. This is the busted up version that has been worked on. The central courtyard that you see has been cleared out. So all of the rubble on the northern side of that area has been cleared out. Also to the southern has been cleared out. The summoning circle has been cleaned out.
All of the collapsed stairs have been repaired.
[00:20:45] Speaker D: We did that before we left.
[00:20:47] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So those stairs to the, like, northeast near the entrance, those can go all the way down to the El Setta's rings.
[00:20:58] Speaker D: And whose rings?
[00:21:02] Speaker A: El Cedda?
[00:21:03] Speaker D: Is that right?
[00:21:04] Speaker C: I don't even know anymore.
[00:21:05] Speaker D: Yeah. I'm literally asking because it's been so many different ways. Is that correct? I don't know.
[00:21:10] Speaker A: Oh, yes. Al SATA. Al said.
[00:21:14] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:21:14] Speaker B: Yeah, that is correct.
[00:21:15] Speaker A: That's right. Yeah.
You know that there is a. What is it called? A battlement. That's the word above. That is where the goblins have been sleeping because they didn't really have permission or didn't ask. Really ask permission for anywhere else. But they have a little camp up in the battlements, which you can tell them they can sleep in any of the rooms that you want to use.
[00:21:48] Speaker D: We were sleeping in the. In the basement, weren't they?
[00:21:50] Speaker C: Yeah, we told them to use the basement because it's a little more reversible.
[00:21:55] Speaker D: It's secure. And also, that's where they had been along with the Kobolds.
[00:22:00] Speaker C: Oh, was it physipin?
They were so cute.
[00:22:05] Speaker B: Pippin. Sarf.
[00:22:06] Speaker C: Oh, that's right.
[00:22:07] Speaker A: They're still down there. The mighty dragons might being mighty dragons.
Yeah. So everything looks. Looks like they're, you know, they're doing what you asked them, and everything is going well. This is the. The vaults of the citadel. I'm just showing you the map there. It's pitch black down here, and. But the goblins have made it more homey. And by goblin standards. By goblin standards, yes.
They've cleaned up all of the mess of dead bodies.
[00:22:49] Speaker B: Checks out. Checks out. Checks out.
[00:22:51] Speaker A: Warble gives you some paperwork to sign off on, saying that they're going to work on rebuilding the battlements. It's going to take about a month to do. They're about seven days in, and it's going to cost 630 silver pieces.
[00:23:08] Speaker D: I think we have some. Some cash on hand. We could pay for that.
[00:23:11] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. I think we're, of course, suitably liquidity.
[00:23:15] Speaker A: You sign it.
[00:23:16] Speaker D: Can we pay them notice? Pay that in, like, the 16,000 copper pieces we have?
[00:23:20] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:23:22] Speaker D: There you go. It's more money.
[00:23:25] Speaker C: It'll make it a lot easier to pay wages. Like, honest. That's actually not a bad idea.
[00:23:31] Speaker D: We'll pay them 6300 copper pieces instead, which is more or one. Oh, 6300 is more than 630, so better deal.
[00:23:41] Speaker E: You know what?
[00:23:41] Speaker C: The gold, that's only 63 guys are the worst.
[00:23:45] Speaker A: As you sign off on that, you notice that the date is the first of Rova. 40 719.
[00:23:52] Speaker D: Is that named after Rovigog, or is that named after something else?
[00:23:55] Speaker A: It is named after Rova Gog.
[00:23:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, you know, why discriminate? Just kidding. Yeah, I tried.
[00:24:04] Speaker C: I'm just gonna chalk this up, too. Sergei has been living in a mountain for forever, and it's just like, what? What does that mean?
[00:24:09] Speaker A: So Rova is our equivalent of September.
[00:24:15] Speaker C: Ah.
[00:24:15] Speaker D: Which is fine. I like September well enough.
[00:24:18] Speaker B: Wake me up. Sorry.
When Rova ends.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: So with that, you can all go about your own ways, do whatever you want to do in town.
If you need to go back into breach hill proper, go shopping, sell things, etcetera, etcetera.
[00:24:49] Speaker C: It's been how long since I've, like, been back to my mountain lab? I kind of want to go. We can take. We can take everybody on a tourist array's house.
[00:24:57] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:24:58] Speaker C: Right?
[00:24:58] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:24:58] Speaker A: It's probably been about a month, all things considered.
[00:25:01] Speaker D: This is the spider corner.
[00:25:05] Speaker C: You guys are gonna get there. It's actually lavishly decorated. It's beautiful.
[00:25:12] Speaker A: All right, so you head up to a cave that Saraya picks her way through to quickly and confidently.
[00:25:22] Speaker C: Even better, now that she's chicken, she has a climb speed.
[00:25:28] Speaker B: Wait, hold on. Trying to keep up with you.
[00:25:32] Speaker C: No, I think there's a, there's a. There's a path.
[00:25:35] Speaker D: She moves fast for an old lady.
[00:25:37] Speaker C: For a what now?
[00:25:42] Speaker A: Queen Talon.
[00:25:44] Speaker D: She's an elf.
She.
[00:25:46] Speaker B: That doesn't mean she's old.
[00:25:47] Speaker D: She's old for a human.
It's. She's very live and bringy. Look at her. Just climb that mountain.
[00:25:58] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:25:58] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:26:02] Speaker C: We found, here's all this.
[00:26:04] Speaker D: We found an any tool, I just turned it into a shovel.
[00:26:09] Speaker B: Insert in mouth.
[00:26:11] Speaker C: Yep.
Yeah. So the front of the cave definitely looks like a cave. And then there's a turn and it's like, oh, this is actually like, quite a nice place to live. There's, you know, she's an elf. She likes to live nicely. Jasper immediately does the rounds of a whole bunch of little perches and starts poking into his little caches of things he's collected over the years. Starts depositing things like the. The gauntlet finger he was using his helmet and whatnot, squirreling them all back around the cave. She's just kind of like, oh, yes. Um, come, come in. I actually have. I can't recall the last time I actually had guests, so I don't think there's too much seeding. But, um, have a look around Twintellen you might actually be interested in. There's, um, some distillation going on that should be done by now. It's been quite a matter of time, uh, for some poisons. I know we were talking about that in the cave with the spiders. And I'm just going to make sure that nothing is too badly decayed in the time that I've been gone. And she's a got all sorts of, like, alchemical things everywhere she's checking up on.
[00:27:18] Speaker B: Do you need any help?
Brianna will awkwardly stand in the middle of the room.
[00:27:29] Speaker C: No, I think I'm all right. It's not too many things come in here.
They've learned over the years that it's not the best idea.
[00:27:40] Speaker B: Okay, I'll just. I'll be here if you guys want.
[00:27:45] Speaker C: To make yourselves at home. Have any questions?
[00:27:49] Speaker B: What do you do for fun in here?
[00:27:52] Speaker C: Well, mostly I do my research. It's quite easy to get just a little loss in it at times, especially as Twittalyn was saying earlier, she looks at you like iron.
[00:28:05] Speaker B: It's.
[00:28:06] Speaker C: Time is a little different for us, I find, so I can actually get quite lost in my experiments for a month or so at a time without really looking up. There was one notable. Oh, yes, there was no one. One notable period. I don't even know how quite how long it was. But when I went back outside again, well, there was breechill.
[00:28:24] Speaker B: Huh.
Wow. Okay.
[00:28:28] Speaker C: She like opens a cabinet somewhere. Pulls out like a bottle of wine. Ah, here we go.
Looks at Seagull teeth and is like. You can have the bottle when we're finished.
[00:28:40] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:28:45] Speaker B: Would he even be interested in the contents of a bottle, I wonder? Probably not.
[00:28:49] Speaker C: That's her point. No, she's gonna pour out the wine for you, Tinsella and herself. And give knife sword the bottle.
[00:28:58] Speaker B: No, I'd be curious to see if knife sword would even like wine.
[00:29:02] Speaker C: Well, she just pour in a little saucer for Jaspereze. What does knife sword do?
[00:29:10] Speaker B: What? What do you think?
[00:29:13] Speaker E: Kind of weak.
[00:29:16] Speaker C: Jasper flaps over, looks depressedly at his empty saucer. Squawks at you, Del spot.
Oh my goodness.
[00:29:32] Speaker B: Well, I would like to propose a toast. To.
To old friends. To the ones we've lost. And to new, very interesting ones. She will wink at knife sword.
[00:29:46] Speaker D: Come on with your eyes, my friend.
[00:29:48] Speaker E: You need another one here.
[00:29:49] Speaker B: No, no, no. Ah.
[00:29:52] Speaker C: Why?
[00:29:54] Speaker B: I don't want any eyeballs. How do you do that?
[00:29:58] Speaker C: Jasper swallowed.
[00:29:59] Speaker A: Jasper swallows it.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: And it's gone.
[00:30:04] Speaker C: Jasper swallows it.
[00:30:11] Speaker E: I'm gonna proceed to curl up into the fetal position.
[00:30:15] Speaker C: Well, I can tell you it does not look like the innards of any animal we've ever seen before.
[00:30:20] Speaker B: This is why we can't have nice things.
[00:30:22] Speaker E: It's just the idea of being in a birdhouse. Yeah.
[00:30:27] Speaker B: Worst nightmare.
[00:30:28] Speaker C: Yes. I imagine the spell like ends when that happens, but yeah.
[00:30:35] Speaker A: So you guys spend about 2 hours up in Soraya's cave. She does all of her work. You share a glass of wine and kind of relax as best you can.
What. What else do you guys want to do? Saraya. I mean, Saraya can stay there and the rest of the group can wander off if that's something you guys want to do. Or you can all stay together.
[00:31:02] Speaker C: Um, yeah, once she's. Once she's happy with everything back there, she's. She's fine. Going off with you guys again.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:31:10] Speaker D: Twin Talon would advocate to go.
We have a lot of things in this bag. We should take them to town and sell the things we aren't going to need. And maybe pick up some other things. Supplies we might need later.
[00:31:23] Speaker B: Sure. That sounds like a good idea. I'll accompany you if you'd like some company.
I feel like Brienne at this point is scared of leaving people out of her sight. Just in case they also disappear, walk off.
[00:31:39] Speaker D: I went to sleep once and two of my friends disappeared.
[00:31:41] Speaker B: No, no, I'm coming with you. Yeah, exactly.
[00:31:44] Speaker C: I mean, yeah, sarah's got a couple things bubbling again.
[00:31:48] Speaker B: I'm just like, oh, yes, let's go.
[00:31:50] Speaker A: Okay, so let's take a quick pause here and deal with selling everything not on the recording because this might take some time.
[00:32:01] Speaker D: I'm pretty sure this would be solid gold.
[00:32:04] Speaker B: Inso entertaining.
[00:32:06] Speaker A: Insert hold music here.
Okay, so after about 2 hours of selling and negotiations and whatnot, that was real time, people.
[00:32:29] Speaker D: We cut out 2 hours of.
[00:32:32] Speaker E: And that is why with annual returns at 7%, I feel that this would.
[00:32:37] Speaker D: Be a good plan.
[00:32:38] Speaker E: And investing in countered is the way to the future. Thank you.
[00:32:42] Speaker D: Okay, so I bought some goggles.
[00:32:45] Speaker B: I learned so much.
[00:32:47] Speaker A: Knife, sword, went to shark tank to propose.
[00:32:57] Speaker D: Except it's a tank of actual sentient sharks. Cause it's a fantasy world.
[00:33:00] Speaker A: Yes, yes, exactly.
[00:33:02] Speaker D: If you don't like your idea, they pull the lever and you fall into the shark tank.
[00:33:08] Speaker C: It's just above them.
[00:33:10] Speaker B: I like this.
[00:33:12] Speaker A: Okay, so everyone got some stuff.
Brianna spent probably the rest of the day, actually, she's going to spend a couple days removing the runes from some of the items that were found.
[00:33:31] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:33:31] Speaker A: And swapping them around. It takes one day per room.
[00:33:37] Speaker B: I was going to ask, did we.
Did we fix up the forge at the citadel?
[00:33:44] Speaker D: We have not.
[00:33:45] Speaker A: No.
[00:33:45] Speaker B: Right.
[00:33:45] Speaker A: Not yet.
[00:33:46] Speaker B: Okay. So Brianna would likely go back home to her, her family to see how they're doing, make sure everybody's okay, and then be like, hey, big brother, I'ma borrow your forge now because I'm a better smith than you. Anyway, bye. And kind of, yeah, do that for a couple days.
[00:34:08] Speaker A: So I'm gonna say you have two siblings. Yes.
[00:34:12] Speaker B: Yes. Two brothers. Two older brothers.
[00:34:14] Speaker A: They're gonna help you as well. So we're gonna cut the time down a little bit.
[00:34:18] Speaker B: Super.
[00:34:19] Speaker A: I think that I counted a total of 15 rooms that we're shifting around.
[00:34:27] Speaker D: Five days between the three of them.
[00:34:30] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. So that's what Brianna is going to wind up doing over the next five days.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: Excellent.
[00:34:40] Speaker A: Spending time with her family, and everyone's working on moving runes around or pulling them out and holding on to them and whatnot.
[00:34:52] Speaker B: I mean, I would argue that it would be slightly slowed down by, you know, their mother's overbearingness as well as Brianna's constant be like, wait, I need to check with my friends, make sure they're not disappeared.
But sure. Five days.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: Five days.
[00:35:11] Speaker B: All right, sounds good.
[00:35:13] Speaker A: So in those five days. Yes. Knife, sword, Rob, what's what?
[00:35:19] Speaker E: I would like to use a yemenite stealth check to get back in the backpack and start my project.
[00:35:27] Speaker A: You don't even have to make a stealth roll because Brianna is too preoccupied with removing the room.
[00:35:36] Speaker D: I think that lifestyle thinks it's way smaller than he is.
[00:35:42] Speaker A: Or the backpack is way bigger.
[00:35:44] Speaker D: A sense of scale is.
[00:35:46] Speaker E: Spatial awareness is not my thing.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: So, Brianna, you're busy for the next five ish days.
Knife sword is kind of working on.
On his masterpiece, trying to figure out how to make it work. But, you know, again, he's much larger and the bag is much smaller than he thinks. Saraya, where are you staying? Are you staying? Are you venturing back and forth between your cave and the town? Are you just staying in town?
[00:36:18] Speaker C: Um, I think I'm going back and forth. I'm gonna work on crafting some of my magical items.
Okay. Yes.
Because I can make a hat of disguise. I can make feather token for ladders. I can make onyx dogs figurines.
So, yeah, I think she's gonna be working on some of her more magical things that actually take crafting downtime.
[00:36:43] Speaker A: Okay, so just kind of in the abstract here. You all have as much downtime as you really kind of want, within reason. Just know that the longer you take to, the longer you hang out in retail, things are still happening in the background.
[00:37:05] Speaker D: What information do we have about that? We know that the star knife that we were given is. Is the key to the next gate. Right.
Do we have any reason to do anything about that?
[00:37:17] Speaker A: The Scarlet Triad is bad business. As far as you guys can probably tell.
They've paid someone to essentially start an assassin's guild in Breach Hill. They've paid a cult to try and summon a dragon goddess. You probably want to keep looking for them, but you don't have really, a time frame that you.
[00:37:44] Speaker D: It's not like a specific thing other than, like, they're bad people and we should probably do something about them.
[00:37:49] Speaker A: Yes, basically.
Twin Talon, what are you doing in at least the first five days? We're just kind of talking the first five days here.
[00:37:59] Speaker D: So twin Talon is going to kind of take a day, kind of go around town, see people, you know, see what's been going on, anything interesting, just kind of catch up. He's gonna probably go to Cadence keg, spend some time there, talking to people and telling people, you know, that, you know, it's unclear if Temid will be coming back. Kind of telling. He probably spends an evening at least there, drinking with people and telling temid stories. He'll spend some time at the. The citadel, getting to know more with the goblins and the kobolds there and kind of talking with warble about her plans for the citadel as to what would be going over, what has been done and kind of complimenting her work there. And he's just kind of. He's really reassessing with. Coming to grips with the fact that pond Watcher's gone and Temmin is gone. And there are these goblins that are been very, you know, industrious and working on building what is essentially not their castle. It's. It's the party's castle. Technically, I think it's Soraya's castle, since she's the one with the deed.
[00:39:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:39:11] Speaker D: And just kind of reflecting on everything that's happened and kind of where he falls in that, as well as where he, what he thinks about his own direction and. And the direction of the party and, you know, his place in the. In the world and. And its group.
[00:39:32] Speaker A: Okay. So on the third or fourth night, fall, fall asleep. And it's one of those, you feel very content with everything, you know, kind of paying homage to timid and kind of coming to your own realizations about pond Watcher not being around anymore. And it's one of those deep body relaxing, like, full body sleeps.
I don't know any better way to describe it than, like, every muscle just, like, releases.
And you finally, after, you know, three weeks of camping in a jungle, you're in a soft bed, and you can just relax, not concerned about animals sneaking up on you or creatures of the night jumping you and stealing a friend away. Or you know that your friends are safe here right now. As you fall asleep, all of your limbs just become heavy. As you drift off, your eyelids are heavy, and you drift into that sleep. As you drift into a sleep, you're bombarded with a kaleidoscope of colors. They swirl and mix in unique and strange patterns. These patterns pulse into clouds.
These clouds melt into huge circles bearing a symbol of a butterfly.
Suddenly, one of these circles begins to crack and chip.
The cracks form the shape of a dragon's head that shimmers gold, then red.
The circles explode into multicolored shards that rain down over Elsetta's ring.
You see, the gates that surround Elsetta's reins are gone. But replacing the gates, you see pastel colored creatures that you have methadone, a mokole, membebe, a bear, an Emperor bird, a warg, a lion, and a hawk.
You land in the middle of the ring.
A large goblin arises from the ground next to you and takes your hand. She is dressed in white and blue and has a butterfly necklace on.
She gestures around the room, not saying anything.
[00:42:03] Speaker D: Is. It does remind me of warble.
[00:42:06] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:42:07] Speaker D: Okay. But she's big. She's large sized.
[00:42:09] Speaker A: She's large for a goblin, so she's medium sized. If you wanted to attack her.
[00:42:13] Speaker D: I don't want to attack her. I'm just. I'm just trying to get the impression from your description. I don't feel like. I feel calm, like she doesn't. She doesn't.
[00:42:22] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:42:23] Speaker D: Dread or anything. She's just.
[00:42:25] Speaker A: No, not at all.
[00:42:26] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:42:26] Speaker A: She's just medium sized.
[00:42:28] Speaker D: Okay, so. And she's just gesturing to these. These animals.
[00:42:33] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:42:33] Speaker D: Okay. So we're gonna look at her and look at the animals, and he will approach each one, kind of putting his hand out, open palm. I'm assuming he recognized them from animals. He's met the, you know, Denver and big bumble and the emperor birds. I don't think we ever knew. Don't think they had names. And then the Warg, maybe is one of the two wargs that they either Kalu or Gregor knee or whatever their names are. I forgot. It's definitely Kalu, I think, is the one. And the other one was named after Charlebau. Yeah, Charlebu was the one. The Sarenrae's champion. Or Emma's Harry, whatever it was.
[00:43:13] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:43:13] Speaker D: So he will kind of go to each of them and turn and put his palm up, see, like, if they react to him. See if you can reach out and, you know, pet them as you reach out.
[00:43:23] Speaker A: They're almost.
The best way I could describe it is celestial. They're non corporeal. Your hand passes right through them. And as it does, they kind of fade from a image of the creature into what looks like a constellation of the creature.
[00:43:40] Speaker D: Oh, interesting. Okay, so he will kind of go each them turn, do this process, and he'll look at the different constellations. He's never really been big on astronomy, I don't think, or astrology. And he'll turn back to big warble. I don't understand. What are you. What are you trying to show me?
[00:43:59] Speaker A: As you say this to her, she takes your hand, and the goblin shifts into a large bugbear.
[00:44:07] Speaker D: Oh, like yelecha.
[00:44:08] Speaker A: Yep. And you get the feeling as if the floor drops out from under you, not in a terrifying way, but in, like, a water slide way. Like, it can be scary, but it's more of a thrill and exhilaration as you're kind of dropping down this shaft. And you see all the constellations start to swirl around you as you're descending down this again. It's like a water slide descending down this tube as you wake up and you feel some sweat on your brow and you see a strange pulsing light.
[00:44:54] Speaker D: In real life? In real life, is it in the.
[00:44:57] Speaker A: Room or where is it through your window?
[00:44:59] Speaker D: Okay, so he'll hop out of bed and kind of go to the window and look outside and see what. What's causing the light.
[00:45:05] Speaker A: You see a constellation. It seems to be shifting. It doesn't seem to be. You're in this weird haze where you think you might be awake, but you might still be asleep just with the way things are. And this constellation pulses and shatters into gold specks that form into an orb and then shatter again. The fallout from the last explosion of this orb hit the ground, and you wake in your bed again. This time, you're sure you've awoken in your bed. Sweat beads down your head, and a cool breeze comes into the room with the smell of rain on the horizon.
[00:45:45] Speaker D: All right, can he remember where it looks like the thing fell in the dream?
[00:45:50] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. If you look at the map of Breach Hill, it looks like it fell into Monument circle.
[00:45:57] Speaker D: Okay, so Twintalon will scrub up, shave his head, grab a snack, and he will head out to Monument Circle to see if he can figure out if his subconscious is trying to tell him something or some higher power is trying to tell him something.
[00:46:11] Speaker A: Okay, so, Matt, we talked about this before, and you've retrained some things.
[00:46:20] Speaker D: Yes, that was my attention.
[00:46:22] Speaker A: Yes. In your retraining, there was one decision that has not been made.
[00:46:28] Speaker D: Correct.
[00:46:28] Speaker A: And I'm leaving that purposely vague.
As you approach monument circle, you see a small, almost bat like looking creature on the ground.
[00:46:39] Speaker D: Okay. Twin Talon will kind of look around, make sure, see if anybody else is, one seeing it or two reacting to it, and then he'll approach it.
[00:46:47] Speaker A: So as you approach it, you know, noticed that it is a pterodactyl, a small pterodactyl.
[00:46:55] Speaker D: Okay. He'll scoop it up. I'll make sure. It's not like, if it's on the ground, it feels like it's. Is it laying on the ground, or is it just, like, standing there? Like, what's it doing?
[00:47:04] Speaker A: It's laying on the ground. It looks like it's injured.
[00:47:07] Speaker D: Okay? Oh, yeah. Then he'll definitely. He'll pick it up very gently. He'll, like, extend its one wing and then the other wing to see, like, what shape they're in. And he'll try to gently pick it up.
[00:47:16] Speaker A: You notice that the wing is slightly damaged. It looks like a somewhat thing either attacked it or someone shot an arrow at it. There's definitely some hole, like a hole in the. In the wing.
[00:47:30] Speaker D: Okay. So Twin Talon will use his new ability to get a 21 on nature to see what the best way to care for it would be, you know, to know about pterodactyl.
Pterodactyls.
[00:47:47] Speaker B: So random.
[00:47:48] Speaker C: I love it though.
[00:47:50] Speaker D: Yeah. And he'll. He's in town, so he'll try to find some, some supplies in town to make a. Like, to swaddle it. Probably, probably needs to immobilize the wing. The best way to do that, especially if it's an animal who typically don't.
[00:48:02] Speaker C: Imagine, like, you know, like the little bat.
[00:48:05] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I was thinking too.
[00:48:06] Speaker B: Fruit bats. Yeah.
[00:48:10] Speaker D: And then I'm guessing pterodactyls probably ate live food, like fish or something like that. I imagine. I don't. They were definitely not herbivores.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: No, I think they're. Yeah, I think they eat fish. I think they're pescetarians.
[00:48:26] Speaker D: Okay.
Yeah, yeah. I'm not sure.
[00:48:30] Speaker B: Checks out.
[00:48:31] Speaker D: So. Yeah, so he'll look into trying to, what he can do to nurse it back to health. And clearly something has drawn him to this animal. So he is going to do his best to take care of it.
[00:48:41] Speaker A: Over the next day or so, it starts to feel better. It seems to be a little peppier. However, it doesn't really want to leave your side at all.
[00:48:52] Speaker D: Okay. As it respects to health, he'll take some walks with it out into the surrounding wilderness to try to help it, like, hunt and, like, be more self sufficient. So it's not like, because the thing about animals in real life anyway, is that, like, if you take care of them too much, they forget or they stop doing naturally type stuff and they become less aware of their surroundings, things like that. And they can starve to death or, you know, become prey to other things because they're not used to having to watch out for themselves. So he doesn't want the pterodactyl to lose that. Although he's not really sure what the hell a pterodactyl is doing in the middle of breach Hill. Pretty sure urban is not its preferred environment, but I'm wondering if it came through the hunter's gate or something, like we weren't paying attention. It's small.
[00:49:40] Speaker A: It is small. You begin to feel more and more attached to this pterodactyl and. Yeah, that's where we're gonna stop with that for now.
[00:49:52] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:49:52] Speaker B: Congratulations, honey.
[00:49:54] Speaker D: Thanks. I got a pterodactyl, so would you.
[00:49:59] Speaker A: Would you like. Yeah, more.
[00:50:02] Speaker C: More.
Look, y'all thought Jasper was weird, but now there's a pterodactyl and a flying, disembodied eyeball, so.
[00:50:16] Speaker D: We'Re just leaning in.
[00:50:19] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
[00:50:20] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:50:22] Speaker A: Well, Matt, would you. Would you like to talk about what happened here?
[00:50:29] Speaker D: Okay, so in Pathfinder second edition, there is a thing called retraining, where you can go back and retrain choices you have made feats, typically, that you can take some time to do that. In playing twin Talon, I felt like he was on this, like, split path where he was trying to be this kind of, like, murdering assassin killer person, but also he was very much tapped in. He kept getting pulled into this role, Disney princess role, as Hai likes to say, where he was dealing with animals. And it was very much more like his dealing with his kwa, his heritage. So I decided at 9th level that he has kind of thought better about it. You know, he's lost some friends. Being a vicious killer hasn't really helped that. And it feels like he's been trying to live this double life, and he's kind of just given up on the facade. He's gonna be who he is, really. So he has mechanically swapped out some feats. I no longer have poison weapon. I no longer have quick draw. I no longer have. I forgot what it's called. I no longer have it. Basically, it allowed you to increase your, like, one of your saves or perception partially. I swapped that. That's less of the story thing and more that I finally got expert proficiency and fortitude save. So that feat doesn't do anything anymore. So I swapped it out for fleet, which gives me five foot faster speed.
Also, since he got the Desna star knife thing, eclipse, and I hadn't really gotten a lot of the roleplay goblin stuff that I wanted out of the unconventional weaponry feat that I took. I swapped out unconventional weaponry to get weapon proficiency. And what that allows me to do is I still. I'm okay at dog slicers. They're two less than my short swords. But eclipse, instead of having a. So for just reference, right now, I have a plus 18 when I attack with my short swords, eclipse, I had a plus four. Not good. Right? So now, rather than having dog slicers at 18, shortswords at 18, and eclipse at four. Short swords are at 18 and eclipse, and the dog slicer would be at 16. So not bad. Not great, but it's much more respectable. But what I did do, though, is I swapped out those two feats that I talked about for the Beastmaster dedication, which gives you an animal companion as well as mature Beastmaster companion, which actually makes him large in size, by the way.
[00:53:00] Speaker B: Oh, wow.
[00:53:01] Speaker D: Yeah, he's actually going to be big soon. I'm assuming I'm going to wake up one day. He's like Bragg. Holy shit. I don't know what you ate. Good job, buddy.
[00:53:10] Speaker C: That should be exciting.
[00:53:12] Speaker D: Yeah. And it also allows him to. Or her. Haven't really decided who the pterodactyl is, but it also allows it. So in combat before we've seen where. For Saraya to have Jasper do a thing, she has to spend an action to give him two actions. It's a minion thing across the board, so they have a familiar or an animal companion or whatever it is. That's how minions work. When he becomes mature, if I give him an action, he takes two actions. However, if I decide to give him zero actions on the turn, he still gets one action.
[00:53:40] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:53:41] Speaker D: Which is pretty nice. In addition to also, like, all of his stats go up slightly. So, yeah, I am now a beastmaster, which I feel fits more of who we. Because I feel like there was, like, the twin talon, like, the idea we had in our head, and then, like, the twin Talon, like, on paper, who he was, and they didn't really mesh up very well. So rather than try to change everyone's perception of him, I am going to be the person that we all kind of feel that he is.
[00:54:03] Speaker C: No.
[00:54:03] Speaker B: And love.
[00:54:04] Speaker D: Yeah. So no one loves the guy that poisoned Alec to death. I mean, we all hated Alec. Agreed. We all hated him, and there's no conversation to be had about it. But that's not really who he is. That was a thing that he did one time, and he's much more. Who he really is, is this person. So he is now a guy with a pterodactyl. That's who he is.
[00:54:23] Speaker C: This is gonna be so much fun.
[00:54:25] Speaker B: I love it.
[00:54:26] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:54:27] Speaker E: You couldn't give him something a little nicer, like, I don't know, a tarasque? Does it have to be a bird?
[00:54:37] Speaker C: I'm just gonna let you know, Jasper is going to be in complete awe and may have a new boyfriend or girlfriend.
[00:54:46] Speaker D: Just constantly bringing the pterodactyl things oh, yeah, absolutely.
[00:54:51] Speaker C: Jasper drinks his respect pterodactyl juice.
[00:54:58] Speaker A: So I'm in the process of building the pterodactyl's character sheet for you, Matt and I will let you have that when it's done.
[00:55:05] Speaker D: Okay, cool.
[00:55:06] Speaker A: Let's bounce over to Brianna. So you have spent the last five days in front of this forge, taking a little bit of time. Time to like eat and drink and check on your friends. But most of the time you have been in front of this hot forge on the fifth of Rova. Oath day. The fifth of Rova. I'm just really happy that I know what day it is and everything you. It's like 1158 at night. And you finish and you just slump into sleep in front of the forge, utterly exhausted.
You have that heavy again. You have the heavy limb feeling, but not from relaxation like twin Talon had in his dream. Yours is from utter exhaustion. And you fall asleep in front of the forge. And the heat, the fire still burning as you sleep. So as you fall asleep, you see some white doves flying around. And you see seagull teeth running from these white doves.
After a few minutes, these white doves start to form into a golden sphere. The sphere lights on fire and in its place you see a four armed winged creature. In its upper two arms, two flaming scimitars.
[00:56:59] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:57:00] Speaker A: In its bottom hands, you see it holding a bow and it's wings are outstretched. They stand about 8ft tall. And it is an impressive figure with a strong, deep voice that you feel more than you hear. You see his metallic skin is hard as steel.
[00:57:22] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:57:22] Speaker A: So they stand. He stands there in front of you, like I said, 8ft tall, metal body, just kind of imposing.
And he smiles at you.
[00:57:36] Speaker B: Brianna will scramble from out of bed and precipice to her heart and bow, say, honor be upon you, son. Lord, thank you for gracing me with your presence here. How may I be of service to you and our lady?
[00:57:53] Speaker A: As you kneel, he gestures for you to stand and you start to levitate up higher and higher.
[00:58:04] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
I will try not to panic.
[00:58:10] Speaker A: As you float higher and higher and higher, you see that he is smiling in a stern sort of way. He draws back his bow and shoots a glowing arrow that passes into your shoulder. And you feel it kind of melt and absorb into you. You feel this warmth coursing through your veins. And then he disappears as quickly as he appeared to you.
[00:58:42] Speaker B: Do I drop since I was you do not. Levitating.
[00:58:46] Speaker A: You feel an itch on your back, right above where your shoulder blades are on both sides. Yep.
[00:58:56] Speaker B: I will reach over to scritch to touch them to see what's happening back there.
[00:59:03] Speaker A: You feel these long, feathery golden wings sprouting from your back.
[00:59:12] Speaker B: Oh, my.
[00:59:13] Speaker A: And again you see knife, sword. Look up at you and run away in fear.
[00:59:19] Speaker D: We're all birds here.
[00:59:20] Speaker B: Now you'll bird too.
I think Brianna is just in shock and in awe and will just kind of keep touching at her wings. Be like, is this real?
[00:59:46] Speaker A: As you feel those wings, you start to see them shimmer gold and red, as if they're made of fire. And they begin to fade slightly as you land softly on the ground in my bedroom.
[01:00:02] Speaker B: Like what?
[01:00:03] Speaker A: Just in complete, complete blackness.
[01:00:05] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:00:06] Speaker A: You're jostled awake by your mother standing behind you as you're still asleep in front of the forge.
[01:00:13] Speaker B: Mom.
[01:00:14] Speaker A: She's scolding you for leaving the forge unattended. And while you slept.
[01:00:22] Speaker B: I'm sorry, mama. I will.
She'll grumble and get back to stoking the fire and then be like, mama, can you do me a favor?
[01:00:32] Speaker A: She nods.
[01:00:34] Speaker B: Could you check my back for me? I feel like I have remnants of the dream. Can you make sure I don't have anything growing out of my shoulder blades if I get cuffed around the head?
[01:00:45] Speaker A: Over. Yeah. She rolls her eyes, cuffs you around the head, and walks away. But the strange thing is you do feel like you still have wings. Even though you can't see them. You know they're there, and you still have that warm feeling flowing through your body.
[01:01:05] Speaker B: Wow. That's awesome. Thank you.
[01:01:07] Speaker A: Would you like to talk mechanically about what just happened?
[01:01:11] Speaker B: No.
[01:01:12] Speaker A: Okay, fine, I won't.
[01:01:16] Speaker B: It's for me. What had happened was her multi talented ancestry feed coming out. I chose the sorcerer dedication, and as such, the celestial bloodline. So she's got a little bit of Magi magicks under her wing. Not much. She's not as cool as knife sword. But I thought it'd be interesting to give her more paths and routes into her dedication to her goddess. Her domain is fire.
[01:01:51] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:01:52] Speaker B: And now I have two cantrips at my disposal. Divine lance in honor of Tamid. And disrupt undead, because that is her oath to disrupt undead. Yep.
[01:02:05] Speaker A: And you also get the bloodline spell of light.
[01:02:09] Speaker B: Very cool.
[01:02:10] Speaker A: Yay.
[01:02:11] Speaker B: Yay. Thanks, John. That was fun.
[01:02:13] Speaker A: So, knife, swords, you're surrounded by bird people.
[01:02:16] Speaker B: You're welcome.
[01:02:17] Speaker E: All right.
[01:02:18] Speaker A: Yay.
[01:02:18] Speaker E: You feathered bastards get any closer, you'll find out why I'm called knife and.
[01:02:23] Speaker B: You want to stay in my backpack. Bag me the wings.
Yes.
[01:02:29] Speaker A: Since we're done with book two, I'm going to start something new. And that's not interrupting Haya on her turn. So I think this is a good place after five days of downtime.
[01:02:43] Speaker C: Um.
[01:02:44] Speaker A: Um.
[01:02:45] Speaker B: Mm hmm.
[01:02:46] Speaker C: Are we ever gonna get back to my gather information?
[01:02:49] Speaker A: Oh, no, I didn't. Forget about it.
[01:02:52] Speaker C: It's a new book.
[01:02:53] Speaker A: Yeah. No, it's a new book. I'm not gonna interrupt Haya. But, Christina, you interrupt me.
[01:02:58] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:02:58] Speaker A: It's your turn in the barrel.
[01:03:00] Speaker C: So you're gonna tell us apart anyway.
[01:03:04] Speaker A: I'm gonna tell you what you found out from your research next week.
