[00:00:38] Speaker A: Welcome to the 77th episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: Right.
[00:00:43] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:00:44] Speaker D: Hello.
[00:00:45] Speaker B: We're almost done, right?
[00:00:46] Speaker E: The one where we might actually make.
[00:00:48] Speaker C: It out alive or not.
[00:00:50] Speaker B: We're die trying, right?
[00:00:53] Speaker E: Die very badly trying.
[00:00:55] Speaker C: Yup.
[00:00:55] Speaker D: Wait, what's going on?
[00:00:57] Speaker B: Pathfinder? Rob, remember you're a goblinous.
[00:00:59] Speaker D: Right, right.
[00:01:00] Speaker B: You're playing a goblin. You're not a goblin.
[00:01:02] Speaker C: Sorry, he is a goblin. Well, he's rather tall for a goblin.
[00:01:04] Speaker D: Never mind, I'm only three goblins tall.
[00:01:09] Speaker A: Rob, are you telling us that you're three goblins in a trench coat?
[00:01:12] Speaker D: No comment.
[00:01:13] Speaker B: He's not telling us that. And that's the important part.
[00:01:16] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: Audience, I need speculations. If Rob is actually just three goblins in a trench coat. And that's how he knows goblin curses so well.
[00:01:27] Speaker C: Aw, he just passed.
[00:01:29] Speaker A: It all makes sense.
[00:01:31] Speaker D: Saffron.
[00:01:33] Speaker A: Ah, okay. So when we last left, we were still in this massive fight in the fortress here.
You have all been beaten fairly regularly around the head and facial region as well as the rest of your body. However, you have managed to kill two chimeras, a couple of boggards, a couple of churica that were here, and all that's left as far as you can see.
[00:02:04] Speaker E: Are we forgetting the weird ass version of silver that turned into a pile of ash?
[00:02:09] Speaker A: Oh yeah, there was someone who looked like silver, who was bald and got incinerated and turned into a pile of ash.
[00:02:17] Speaker C: Probably nothing.
[00:02:18] Speaker A: Probably nothing. Oh, there's a giant skull. I forgot about that. There's a giant skull that has been shooting fire beams at you out of its eyes. That knife sword is now under so it can't see him. I guess there's also a dragon chained onto a dais. Head down looking at you just like sup guys?
[00:02:43] Speaker B: Head down, ass up. That's the way he likes to be sacrificed to doc.
That's the song, right?
[00:02:50] Speaker A: Yep, yep, exactly. And then there's this creature that's right in front of Brianna. It is a medium sized, almost looks like a dragon. Almost. But we've never actually described what this character looks like.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: It's like if you had a worse version of D and D and then like one of their base races was like a dragon person, like that's what it would be like.
[00:03:13] Speaker E: Is this the one that looks like a furry's dream?
[00:03:17] Speaker B: Aren't they scalies?
[00:03:18] Speaker A: I'm sorry, what?
[00:03:22] Speaker E: Yeah, it totally looks like something a scaly would want like their scale suit.
[00:03:26] Speaker D: To look like shiny.
[00:03:30] Speaker C: Also, point of order, it's running away from Brianna. And Brianna has gone batshit and is chasing after it, if I remember correctly.
[00:03:38] Speaker B: Trying to punch it to death.
[00:03:39] Speaker A: Yes, that is.
[00:03:40] Speaker D: Yes, that's right. She's, like, covered in gore.
[00:03:43] Speaker C: Yup, she is.
She smooshed Chimera and now she's chasing this creature.
[00:03:49] Speaker E: Meanwhile, Zuraya is, like, at four hit points, and Jasper's, like, slowly not dying in the next room.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: Yeah. Let's get a quick status of everyone's hit points. I know we don't normally do this.
[00:04:01] Speaker B: Wait, can we do something first? I'm looking at the token for this dragon person because it is humanoid, right? It's got two legs, two arms. It's standing upright like a human.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: Does it have scaly boobs or am I just imagining? That's on the token.
[00:04:16] Speaker E: Okay, see, this is what I was talking about. It's a Scaly's dream. It looks weirdly humanoid, like, just human enough that it's like.
[00:04:24] Speaker A: Okay, let me give you a description.
[00:04:26] Speaker B: Okay. Make it slow. Slowly, slow. Yep. Thank you.
[00:04:32] Speaker A: This creature's form is covered with slimy black skin that varies between smooth and scaly. Their head is draconic, is filled with a grin of needle like teeth, and crowned with a cluster of twisting black horns, webbed hands and feet, and in long digits tipped with sharp claws.
[00:04:55] Speaker E: Okay, so you can say that's the description in the book all you want, but the token we have is straight off someone's fucking deviantart account.
[00:05:02] Speaker A: Well, that's the picture from the book, just so you know.
[00:05:09] Speaker E: Hey. Hey, artist at Paizo, I love you, but I also know that a lot of artists make money doing that kind of commission. I know. Judgment. But, like what?
[00:05:18] Speaker B: Also, we know what you're into.
[00:05:20] Speaker C: Hey, we don't kink shame here.
[00:05:22] Speaker B: I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. I'm just saying we know. Look at that drawing. Like, we know what that person's into. That's fine.
[00:05:29] Speaker E: This is a blue and purple dragon with a white neck and underbelly that, from a distance, I'm sure it's actually its tail, but literally looks like it has its arm up in that fingertip thing.
[00:05:42] Speaker A: That is. That is its tail behind it.
[00:05:45] Speaker E: Yes. Well, from a distance, it does not look like that. Like, yeah, there's nothing oozy, gross or, like, nasty about this. This is straight up, like a blue purple Drake giving you bedroom eyes.
[00:05:58] Speaker D: Sorry, what book is this?
[00:06:02] Speaker E: We're not learning things about Rob.
[00:06:04] Speaker A: So, Harry, let me show this to all of you. That is the full art of the creature. Do you see it now. Oh, okay, so it's wearing scale armor. Okay, so current hit points for everyone. Brianna is at 42 hit points.
Saraya, you're at four hit points.
[00:06:27] Speaker E: Jasper has twice the hit points. I do at eight.
[00:06:30] Speaker A: Twin Talon has 37 hit points, so he's fine. He's super healthy at this point, pretty much. And knife sword has variable hit points. 27 hit points.
So you know you're all doing well. It is now this creature, the scalies turn. And for its first action, it's going to reach out.
[00:06:57] Speaker B: Reach out and touch me.
[00:06:59] Speaker A: Well, it's going to touch Brianna. Okay, can you please make a reflex save reflex.
[00:07:08] Speaker B: We do have hero points again, right? We have another hero point because a new session.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Everyone has a hero point. That is correct.
[00:07:15] Speaker C: Has a 17.
[00:07:16] Speaker A: That will be a critical fail.
[00:07:19] Speaker C: All right, take my hero point.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: All right, hero point taken.
[00:07:26] Speaker C: How's it 22?
[00:07:27] Speaker A: That is a regular fail.
[00:07:29] Speaker C: All right, that's fine, I guess.
[00:07:31] Speaker B: Well, it's better, it's not worse.
[00:07:34] Speaker C: Uh huh.
[00:07:34] Speaker B: I see a cone on the ground, so I think it's just like a breath of.
[00:07:37] Speaker C: It's gonna fart on me.
[00:07:38] Speaker B: I'm guessing it's acid if it has black and like black horns. Black scale. It looks blue to me, but the way Sean described it's black and has webbed hands. I'm gonna guess it's some kind of black dragon person.
Does black dragons live in a swamp?
[00:07:51] Speaker D: Black could just be the scale armor he was describing.
[00:07:54] Speaker B: But the horns were black too.
[00:07:57] Speaker C: Oh, hang on. I do have bulwark, which is a plus three modifier instead of my dex for damaging effects.
[00:08:04] Speaker B: Right. So it's one extra.
[00:08:05] Speaker A: Okay, so that would be a 23. That's still a regular fail, unfortunately.
[00:08:09] Speaker C: Well, I tried.
[00:08:11] Speaker A: I know.
[00:08:11] Speaker D: Does anyone else think that bulwark sounds like what you make up to sound like you actually did something?
[00:08:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:19] Speaker A: All right, so gouts of fire rush forth from this creature's hands, dealing 30 points of damage minus. Ouch.
[00:08:30] Speaker C: What was it?
[00:08:30] Speaker B: Oh, five. It's fire.
[00:08:32] Speaker A: Okay, so you take 25 points of damage.
[00:08:37] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:08:37] Speaker A: And then for its last action, it's going to run away.
[00:08:43] Speaker C: No, it's nothing. Fuck you. Get over here.
You really think?
[00:08:48] Speaker A: Well, when it leaves its space, you can take an attack of opportunity if you'd like.
[00:08:52] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:08:52] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead, make that attack.
[00:08:55] Speaker C: I will try my best. I dropped my scimitar. Correct. I'm trying to remember this.
[00:09:00] Speaker B: I don't remember if you dropped it, but you've definitely been punching people. I think you did throw it down.
[00:09:03] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:09:04] Speaker C: I did.
[00:09:04] Speaker A: Yes. That green line in the corner to the southeast is the scimitar.
[00:09:09] Speaker C: Excellent. Well then come over here.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: Get over here.
[00:09:13] Speaker C: I've been rolling absolute crap. How's a 22 that will miss?
[00:09:18] Speaker A: So it's gonna move.
[00:09:20] Speaker C: Cool.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: As it runs, it yells at knife sword. Get away from there.
[00:09:26] Speaker B: Oh, it's a muppet.
It's susceptible to fire.
[00:09:35] Speaker A: Oh yeah. You guys blew out some more walls. I forgot about that.
[00:09:38] Speaker B: Yeah, most of them I think at this point.
[00:09:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Knife, sword. It is your turn.
[00:09:44] Speaker D: Alright. Okay. So from underneath, I look up. Is there a way I could climb up underneath and try to maybe dislodge the gem from the bottom?
[00:09:54] Speaker A: You looked at that last time and you needed to be an expert in thievery to do it. Or have the spell dispel magic.
[00:10:03] Speaker D: Okay, I'm gonna try this.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: You can just attack it as well. It has hit points and a hardness and all that stuff.
[00:10:09] Speaker B: So there's also a dragon person running around that doesn't want to get pulled into a lake of fire. Probably. In case that's a thing you can do.
[00:10:16] Speaker C: Probably.
[00:10:17] Speaker A: Oh yes. Molten gold is pouring from the eyes of the skull and into this pit surrounding the chained down dragon.
[00:10:26] Speaker D: Oh, I'm glad I noticed that before I walked under them.
[00:10:28] Speaker B: Are you sure it's not pouring out of the skull's nose? I was like. Cause the eyes are over the floor. They're not over the basin.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: Oh, okay. You know what? Yes. Out of its nose and mouth, it's got a really bad, like head cold. So it's coming out the nose and mouth. Just gold dripping down.
[00:10:46] Speaker D: All right. I want to cast darkness between the both of the eyes so that I cover both eyes in darkness.
[00:10:52] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:10:54] Speaker B: 20Ft.
[00:10:55] Speaker D: 20 foot.
[00:10:56] Speaker B: 20 foot radius. I just, I just listened to the episode where you did that while I was in the water.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: So that would be a 20 foot radius. That would also get you knife sword. But I don't think you really care.
[00:11:10] Speaker D: I can sort of see through it.
[00:11:11] Speaker A: Oh, that's right.
[00:11:12] Speaker D: Barely. But I can still sort of see through it. So yes, I'm gonna do that and see if that affects their aiming.
[00:11:17] Speaker A: Okay. All right. So you cast darkness over the skull. Twin Talon.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: So twin Talon is going to use trick magic item again.
[00:11:32] Speaker A: Mm hmm.
[00:11:33] Speaker B: Different item this time. This one is going to be nature.
[00:11:36] Speaker A: Uh oh.
[00:11:37] Speaker B: Because there's a scroll he's been holding on to called dinosaur shape.
[00:11:41] Speaker E: Oh yeah.
I can't wait for this.
[00:11:45] Speaker D: Clever girl.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: So he's going to try to trick the scroll into working for him.
[00:11:51] Speaker E: If there is any way to assist on this role, I want to see this happen.
[00:11:55] Speaker B: So I got a total of 16.
[00:11:57] Speaker A: Okay. It's a level four spell. That will not be enough. Would you like to use a hero point?
[00:12:03] Speaker B: Well, it's my first round, my first action of this new episode, so of course I want to use my hero point. John, let's just get this the fuck out of the way. Hopefully I'll get a natural one, and then it will turn me permanently with the dinosaur brain, and I'll wander off into the jungle or some other fucking bullshit.
Okay, 15. That's less. I fucking hate bullshit.
[00:12:30] Speaker C: It's fucking bullshit.
[00:12:33] Speaker A: It's a regular fail, which I don't think destroys the. Yeah, you just don't trick it. Right.
[00:12:40] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:12:41] Speaker A: Your first action.
[00:12:43] Speaker B: 515. 2025. And then for my third action. 515. 2025. So twin Talon ran out of the door, and on the eastern side of that room are a bunch of rubble where walls used to be. And he ducked back south around the remnants of another wall. But I am now closer to night sword, and hopefully I can get up there and do something.
Don't die, please.
[00:13:17] Speaker C: Trying to think.
[00:13:18] Speaker B: Remember laser beam eyes?
[00:13:19] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Laser beam eyes.
[00:13:20] Speaker A: But there's also darkness up there.
[00:13:22] Speaker C: Trying to figure out if she would just keep chasing this thing or not.
[00:13:26] Speaker A: She's.
[00:13:26] Speaker C: She's pissed. I think she finally realizes how hurt she is.
[00:13:31] Speaker A: Oh, fuck.
[00:13:32] Speaker C: I can't do my heal spell because I haven't focused. I don't know if I've done battlefield medicine on myself.
[00:13:40] Speaker A: On yourself? You have not. You have done it to everyone else.
[00:13:43] Speaker C: All right, might as well. I'm not looking too hot, so she'll take a minute to tourniquet her neck. Cause that's how you do it, right?
[00:13:51] Speaker B: I'm pretty sure.
[00:13:53] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:13:54] Speaker A: That's how temid taught you.
[00:13:55] Speaker B: If you trap all the blood in your brain, you'll never pass out.
Wait.
[00:13:59] Speaker D: What? Wait a minute.
[00:14:00] Speaker C: All right, I've been rolling kind of crap the last several times. Let's see how it. Fuck. Oh, wow. I just make it with a 16?
[00:14:07] Speaker A: Yep. Thanks to those healers gloves. You make it? So it's two d eight.
[00:14:12] Speaker C: Let's do a.
Wow.
[00:14:16] Speaker B: Our dice are garbage.
[00:14:18] Speaker C: Yeah, well, I've been rolling pretty chilly the last several times.
[00:14:22] Speaker B: Well, so did I. All of us. All of us have so far.
[00:14:25] Speaker C: Yeah. I only get back six.
[00:14:28] Speaker A: That was one action.
[00:14:29] Speaker C: Okay, so that's one action.
[00:14:31] Speaker A: Got any javelins?
[00:14:32] Speaker C: Do I? I believe I do.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: I was looking over everyone's character sheets. Of what they had and didn't have still.
[00:14:38] Speaker C: Okay, fine. Yeah. Next action would be to pick up a javelin. And then my final action would be to throw.
[00:14:43] Speaker B: Yep, yep.
[00:14:45] Speaker A: What did you get?
[00:14:46] Speaker C: So I got a 33. Will that hit?
[00:14:49] Speaker A: That will hit.
[00:14:50] Speaker C: Finally. Good gravy. All right, take eight points of damage. One.
[00:14:57] Speaker A: And it still alive. Of course it is, Saraya.
[00:15:03] Speaker E: So, Matt, is the scroll of dinoshape, is that sylph or is that one willing target?
[00:15:08] Speaker B: I believe it's self, but let me.
[00:15:11] Speaker E: Double check because I will absolutely run up to you, snatch it, and try to do it myself on you.
Sounds like a target self. Okay, in that case, I'm going to use one of my last two batches of rehagents to make myself a elixir of life because I am not doing hot. Alrighty, I'm gonna heal 17. And I think that is make drink. And I guess I'll peek around the corner.
[00:15:41] Speaker A: It is now the dragon scaly creatures. Turn. They are going to run five and Darkhold. Can you give me a reflex save, please?
[00:15:56] Speaker D: Yeah. Remember, I'm in an obscuring darkness.
[00:16:00] Speaker A: Yes, but a cone of energy flies at you.
[00:16:05] Speaker D: Okay, 27.
[00:16:06] Speaker A: Okay, so you fail.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: You don't have to roll for concealment.
[00:16:12] Speaker B: It's not targeted.
[00:16:13] Speaker C: Okay, I tried to. Sorry.
[00:16:15] Speaker B: No. Normally, yes, but for area of effects.
[00:16:18] Speaker E: No, but yeah, he's just attacking the darkness.
[00:16:20] Speaker A: Would you like to. Is that hero point that you have?
[00:16:23] Speaker D: I mean, I rolled a 14. I don't know if I can. Yeah, why not?
[00:16:26] Speaker B: He rolled 27 total. Is that a failure?
[00:16:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that is a failure.
[00:16:30] Speaker E: Good lord.
[00:16:32] Speaker D: Why not? Let's see what happens.
[00:16:34] Speaker B: All right, this is when Rob rolls a one.
[00:16:36] Speaker C: Don't jinx him.
[00:16:37] Speaker D: Ah. It was five times better than you thought.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: So your new roll is an 1818, which is a regular fail.
[00:16:45] Speaker B: Wait, that's impossible.
[00:16:47] Speaker A: Why?
[00:16:48] Speaker B: Because if 18 is a fail, then 27 is a success.
[00:16:53] Speaker A: No, that. You're right, that is a critical fail. Okay, let me do some quick math.
[00:17:00] Speaker C: Lame.
[00:17:01] Speaker A: I rolled very poorly. Which is good for you guys. Not so good for me. Take 24 points of acid damage as this creature breathes forth acid from their mouth.
[00:17:15] Speaker B: It's not the worst place you get breathed acid from, I guess.
[00:17:18] Speaker D: Well, I know what I'm doing. Come, my turn. If I'm still alive.
[00:17:21] Speaker A: All right, you. Knife, sword. You can kind of see that the gems light up like they're about to shoot, but can't see anything, so nothing happens. It is now the top of round 17 in this combat. And it is knife swords turn shoot.
[00:17:40] Speaker D: You're going to breathe in me. I'm going to vomit at you. Vomit swarming him.
[00:17:44] Speaker A: Okay, I need to make a reflex save. See? So if I have a plus 16 modifier and I roll a one, that's.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: Still a critical failure shot.
[00:17:57] Speaker A: That's a critical failure. Right. Let's grab a crit fail. Cardinal.
[00:18:01] Speaker B: Wait, it's a critical.
[00:18:04] Speaker A: Actually, no, that would be a. Yeah, that's a crit hit for knife sword. I'm sorry. Yeah.
[00:18:09] Speaker B: So I get critical hit, not critical failure.
[00:18:11] Speaker A: Yeah, critical hit.
[00:18:12] Speaker D: Card shrink after effect. Normal damage. The target is reduced in size as if the subject to a shrink spell until the end of its next turn. Interesting. Okay. And then damage. Nine piercing.
[00:18:26] Speaker A: Nine points of damage.
[00:18:27] Speaker D: All seagulls.
[00:18:28] Speaker A: As seagulls land on this dragon like creature and it shrinks from medium to small.
[00:18:35] Speaker D: Come pick on somebody your own size.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: That's amazing.
And you have one more action, I believe. Mister dark hole.
[00:18:47] Speaker D: Oh, and I'm gonna go one.
[00:18:51] Speaker E: Wow. No, no. Call me knife sword. Mister Darkole was my father.
[00:18:55] Speaker A: Next up is twin shoes. Twin Talon.
[00:18:59] Speaker B: So did I see the eyeballs light up and not fire because they're in darkness? Can I make that connection?
[00:19:04] Speaker A: No. Yeah, you, you see this like glow kind of emanate out from where the skull is and. But nothing happens, so yeah, you could.
[00:19:13] Speaker D: Probably guess a bunch of seagulls burst out of the darkness.
[00:19:16] Speaker A: Oh yeah. And then you saw a bunch of seagulls fly and hit this creature.
[00:19:19] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean that's clearly, obviously what that is. I was just seeing if I was aware that the eyeballs were negated for.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: Right now they seem to be you're about 60ft away, twin Talon, if you'd like.
[00:19:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I get that. I actually had another thought here.
So I see that there's this ball of darkness over the head which happened.
[00:19:40] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:19:41] Speaker B: I want to say. Yeah, when I ran past, it was there. And then the dragon person ran up, shot acid into the darkness and seagulls flew out and shrunk them down.
So Twintalon is going to.
The key is that he noticed that the eyes flared and did not fire. As if they couldn't see anything. So he's going to move and twin Talon comes running up. All right, so that's exactly two moves. So with my third action, I'm going to shove the dragon person into the pool of molten gold.
[00:20:13] Speaker A: Okay. And they are small.
[00:20:17] Speaker B: So yeah, that's the reason I'm doing it.
I think that they are disadvantaged to being athletics. Check baby.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: It is an athletics check.
[00:20:29] Speaker D: Good thing you get that hero point.
[00:20:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess our fortitude DC. Okay.
[00:20:35] Speaker D: Do you notice how skillfully he wiped all of our hero points out in the first round?
[00:20:38] Speaker B: Mm hmm.
[00:20:40] Speaker E: Hey, I have mine.
[00:20:41] Speaker B: I feel like he gives them to us and then takes them away. So it sounds like he's being nice, but really he's only doing anything.
[00:20:48] Speaker E: And he's also supposed to like reward us for doing cool shit and he never does.
[00:20:53] Speaker A: You get a plus two to your.
[00:20:55] Speaker B: Shove because they're small.
[00:20:56] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:20:56] Speaker B: All right, so I'm going to try it. I mean, the worst thing that happens, I guess, is that I critically fail and go over them into the myself, which would just put me out of my misery. So it's probably gonna be fine.
Come on, do good. Well, how about a natural 20? How about that?
[00:21:16] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:21:16] Speaker C: Yes, yes yes.
[00:21:18] Speaker B: There's ever a time for a natural 20.
[00:21:19] Speaker A: All right, so twin Talon.
Twin Talon.
[00:21:23] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:21:24] Speaker A: You get a hero point.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:21:25] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:21:26] Speaker A: And you critically succeed. So you may push your target up to 10ft and stride after them if you'd like.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: So twintalon kind of runs up at this dragon creature which just got shrunk and just like shoulder checks it hard and over the edge of the basin and it goes pinwheeling head over tea kettle or whatever the saying is, into the vat of molten gold with a ploop sound as twintalon kind of continues slightly past and skids to a halt.
[00:21:56] Speaker C: Brianna is so proud.
[00:21:57] Speaker E: I just imagine like all the stereotypical movie shots of a nerd getting shot on a walker.
[00:22:02] Speaker B: No, we're in a pool. It's more like in a pool.
All right, well that's three actions for me. I don't know if it takes damage or.
[00:22:09] Speaker A: Well, hang on, hang on. So as you shove it in, it does pinwheel ass over tea kettle into the lava. And it splashes. Molten gold flies up everywhere. Matt, since you pushed this creature into the gold.
[00:22:25] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:22:26] Speaker A: Not lava gold. Can you roll four D six for me?
[00:22:29] Speaker B: Five. Five. Five. And two is 17.
[00:22:33] Speaker A: So it takes 17 fire damage as it lands in this pool of molten gold.
[00:22:40] Speaker B: Now I think it's way worse than that. Just abstractly thinking because it's coated in like this hot metal. So even if it were to climb out, it would have to get all this, like that would be persistent. Yeah, it's like burning and it's stuck on its skin. It's probably like. Anyway, good luck dragon guy. My turn's over. But yeah. And twin Talon will kind of schedule a halt. Look at Brianna and give her a wink. Oh, and I think it's her turn.
[00:23:10] Speaker A: I learned it from watching you.
Okay, Brianna. No, it's your turn.
[00:23:21] Speaker C: Brianna, so proudly will dive after the creature. Be like, I'm coming too, and gives up.
No, I don't. I'm not sure what to do.
[00:23:32] Speaker A: I was like, wait, what?
[00:23:34] Speaker C: Plot twist. She gives up.
We still have to deal with the. The eyebally thingy. But that's more twin towns expertise.
[00:23:43] Speaker B: I'll say it. This point, I think that I'm not. I agree with you. It's. It's hard to say what to do other than to fall back so that the beams don't shoot you or move forward under them with seagull teeth, so that the I beams don't shoot you, but.
[00:23:54] Speaker A: Yeah, well, darkness lasts for a minute, right? So you have some rounds.
[00:24:00] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:24:00] Speaker C: So my thought would be to go ahead and pick up my scimitar and then move forward under it. Nice for my turn.
[00:24:08] Speaker A: Okay. All right, so I'll let you to do the moves.
[00:24:11] Speaker C: That should be.
[00:24:12] Speaker A: Yep, that's enough to get your scimitar.
[00:24:14] Speaker C: That should be two. I'm slow.
[00:24:17] Speaker B: I'm 20.
[00:24:19] Speaker C: That's like, yeah, that's two actions. So I move halfway across the room, slowly, kind of sauntering, looking around, be like, ooh, these fairy lights. I didn't really appreciate them till now. And that's my turn.
[00:24:35] Speaker A: All right, I saraya.
[00:24:38] Speaker E: So, yeah, I think I'm just gonna take my turn and run up next to dark hole near that, the left eyeball.
[00:24:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:24:43] Speaker E: If I can see twin talon, like, under the skeleton, what do we want to do about the dragon that's chained up there?
[00:24:50] Speaker B: I hadn't thought that far, but I don't think he's their friend.
[00:24:54] Speaker E: I don't know if he's ours either.
[00:24:55] Speaker A: Twin Talon. At the start of this creature's turn, please roll 46.
[00:25:01] Speaker B: One, two, three, and six for twelve.
[00:25:04] Speaker A: As this creature starts to move, the molten gold starts to solidify around its legs and up its body, and it dies finally.
[00:25:15] Speaker B: Well, it should have surrendered before I kicked it into a vat of molten gold. If it watched Games of Thrones, it would have known that.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: And now, at the start of round 18, I am happy to say combat is still going. Is over.
[00:25:31] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:25:34] Speaker E: Jesus, that is the longest combat I have ever played in, like, my ten years.
[00:25:40] Speaker A: I need a cigarette after that. And I don't even smoke.
[00:25:45] Speaker B: If it's okay with everybody else, Twintelle's gonna scoot underneath the. The skull here and try to disarm those eyeballs so I don't think they know combat's over.
[00:25:52] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, I speak draconic, so I'm gonna try and go talk to the imprisoned dragon.
[00:25:58] Speaker A: Okay, so first off, let's see if twin talon disables this trap.
[00:26:02] Speaker D: I'm gonna fall over.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I think you're all about to follow.
[00:26:05] Speaker E: Oh, and Jasper comes back to me out of combat rounds.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: Yep. All right, so twin Talon, go ahead and do your.
[00:26:12] Speaker B: I got a 36.
[00:26:13] Speaker A: All right, so you managed to clamber up to the eye and you pop one of the gems out. So you have one eye disabled. Would you like to try the other eye?
[00:26:26] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, I've only got a couple rounds before it's not dark anymore and starts blasting. So take it.
[00:26:32] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:26:33] Speaker B: 21.
[00:26:33] Speaker A: That, uh, that. That gem seems to be wedged in there a little bit stronger.
[00:26:38] Speaker B: Okay, I'll try again. Okay, 23.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: That will pop it out.
[00:26:42] Speaker B: Okay, so for reference, I needed to roll a five. I just felt to do that on the second time. Okay, so after that, Turntalen is happy to let everybody else kind of what they want to do. I just wanted to take care of that before we forgot about it. And we're trying to talk to the dragon and all of a sudden, like, lances of fire shoot out and murder everybody.
[00:26:59] Speaker E: Yeah, I shoot, everyone dies.
[00:27:01] Speaker A: Yeah. We're going to go into exploration mode. So starting with Soraya, what would you like to do?
[00:27:08] Speaker E: Um, isn't it a social action to like, make an impression? Can I try to like, make an impression on this dragon that, like, we're not here to hurt it?
[00:27:16] Speaker A: Sure. So you're gonna come around. It's gonna be a diplomacy check. And you may attempt to speak to the dragon.
[00:27:24] Speaker E: I do speak its language. Does that give me. Well, I assume that just lets me actually try and make this check if it doesn't speak common.
[00:27:31] Speaker A: Yeah. All right, I'll make that secret check for you. Haya, what are you doing? Or what is Briana doing?
[00:27:36] Speaker C: Brianna is going to take a knee and do some meditation or prayer in thanks to Sarenre to receive her focus point back.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: Okay, so you will be regaining a focus point. Twin Talon, what are you doing?
[00:27:51] Speaker B: As Saraya is talking to the dragon and Brianna is taking a knee, twin Talon will pull out the grappling hook and rope and try to fish this dead dragon person out of the molten gold.
[00:28:05] Speaker A: Okay. And last but not least, knife, sword. What are you doing?
[00:28:09] Speaker D: Looking for a place to crawl up and fall asleep. How big is Brianna's backpack?
[00:28:16] Speaker C: Big enough for you, so I'd say, yeah, look, I'm over, and I'm strong enough to carry you, too.
[00:28:22] Speaker B: Yeah, that's the key part.
[00:28:23] Speaker D: While she's. While she's, like, meditating, I'm just gonna, like, quietly and carefully climb into her backpack and just go to sleep.
[00:28:29] Speaker B: Roll stealth. Okay.
[00:28:31] Speaker E: Goddamn. Like cat sneaking into your backpack before school.
[00:28:35] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:28:36] Speaker E: I love it.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: Saraya, as you approach this dragon, you hear it whisper. Help me.
[00:28:44] Speaker E: Yeah. Yes, yes. Do you have a name? And I'm gonna be trying to, like, figure out how to unfasten the chains.
[00:28:50] Speaker A: They're just very heavy chains. You could break them, disintegrate them, chop them, pick, lock, pick them, whatever you need to do.
[00:28:59] Speaker D: Julienne fry them.
[00:29:00] Speaker A: Yes, exactly.
[00:29:00] Speaker E: Clearly. So my thief re is actually plus ten, and, uh. But, you know. No, I'll use my last batch of reagents to just melt them with an s. Applause.
[00:29:09] Speaker A: So as you're walking around melting them. I am Chiron, it is your pleasure.
[00:29:15] Speaker C: It is your pleasure to meet me.
[00:29:18] Speaker A: It is good. Great. Well met.
[00:29:23] Speaker E: Do I recognize that name at all? Can I make a knowledge check?
[00:29:27] Speaker A: You don't recognize the name?
[00:29:28] Speaker E: Okay, Chiron, am I correct in assuming that they had imprisoned you in an attempt to use you in a ritual?
[00:29:38] Speaker A: Uh, yes, they. They were trying to sacrifice me to secure.
To secure Ahawk's blessing and then secure the ayadhara that the elves are guarding. But in the grand scheme of things, Bell Zamaug already got what she claimed she wanted. Hunter's gate was opened, and it was only a matter of time before de Hawk tries to force his way out of where? Out of the gates.
[00:30:16] Speaker E: Okay, wonderful. If I successfully melted all the chains, I try to, like, unshackle him and like.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: Yep. So the shackles come off and fall into the molten gold. Twin Talon, you manage to fish out the creature that you pushed in to the gold. Brianna, you regain your point and knife, sword, you curl up in Brianna's backpack.
[00:30:39] Speaker C: Excellent.
[00:30:40] Speaker A: So, in the next ten minutes, what would you like to do, Saraya? I'm assuming continue to talk to them?
[00:30:45] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm gonna continue my conversation.
[00:30:47] Speaker B: Okay, twin Talon, so the dragon just said something about Belzemog got what they wanted. Is this Belzemog the black dragon person?
[00:30:54] Speaker A: If you ask Saraya to ask the dragon, the dragon kind of nods and smiles at the gold statue that you have.
[00:31:03] Speaker B: All right. I think Twintana will kind of wistfully look at it and realize that all of its stuff is now inside of this gold shell. But I'm debating whether or not to take it as a trophy or to crack it open and take all the goodies out of inside.
[00:31:17] Speaker D: I have a logistical question about that. So it was shrunk from the spell, but it was only going to last one round.
[00:31:23] Speaker A: Right. So it's a small creature.
[00:31:25] Speaker D: Is it gonna, like, resize and bust out of the gold?
[00:31:29] Speaker B: Well, the fun thing is about that spell, if you can't, at least for the enlarged version, if there's not space for you to enlarge, like, you just don't.
[00:31:36] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:31:37] Speaker D: Interesting.
[00:31:38] Speaker A: And there's no space for it to every regrow, so it just doesn't. But if, unless twin Talon takes the gold out off of it.
[00:31:46] Speaker D: So, like, in like a thousand years, if someone were to break open this statue, the skeleton would just, like, increase in size.
[00:31:53] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:31:53] Speaker B: It would be like the can of peanuts with a snake inside.
Yeah. Twin Talon will. He'll work on trying to carefully bisect the. Actually, he'll go over to Briana because she would be way more able to do that. And he'll be like, do you think you could, with your scimitar, just make a clean cut? Like down the middle, like half, like around, like through the waist?
[00:32:16] Speaker C: Why?
[00:32:17] Speaker B: So we could get the person out.
[00:32:20] Speaker C: Okay, that's rather dark, but I will try my best and. Sure, I guess I'll do a. An attack roll.
[00:32:28] Speaker A: You don't have to. You can. You can do that pretty easily. Yeah, no, no need to roll.
[00:32:33] Speaker B: I mean, she's. She's very strong. She's a smith.
[00:32:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:32:36] Speaker B: If anybody can do it.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:32:37] Speaker B: I mean, if I could say. I should say if Brienne can't do it. No, nobody can do it.
[00:32:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Knife. Sword. What are you doing?
[00:32:43] Speaker D: Wait, wait. So when she cuts it open, does it just go?
[00:32:47] Speaker A: Yes, it makes that noise.
[00:32:49] Speaker D: Wait, sorry, I'm just fascinated by this.
[00:32:51] Speaker B: Flies out. Yeah, it probably oozes out, like, squeezes out.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:32:57] Speaker C: Not great.
[00:32:59] Speaker B: Not what I was hoping for, but that's kind of what happened.
[00:33:01] Speaker D: I think, seeing as I have three hit points, I'm just gonna, like, rest.
[00:33:06] Speaker A: Okay, Saraya, I'm gonna go back to you with the speaking to Chiron.
As the shackles fall off, you see him stand up to his full size.
[00:33:19] Speaker E: Do I regret my decision?
[00:33:21] Speaker A: They are fairly large.
[00:33:24] Speaker E: Their token looks like it is a mechanically large token.
[00:33:28] Speaker A: Yes.
By looking at this dragon standing up, you think that this is a ancient red dragon. But you do see a gold shard sticking out of its chest.
[00:33:44] Speaker C: Uh oh.
[00:33:45] Speaker E: Um, did. Did they try and she'll just kind of like, gesture. Like, do you need that removed, or would that make it worse?
[00:33:52] Speaker A: I don't know what it is. It's a. A shard of something powerful. I know that. A fragment the scarlet triad gifted to Belzemog to aid her in the ritual she performed to raise the dragon pillars. Chiron replies, looking down at his wound and prodding at it slightly. The gold around the wound inflicted by the shard is a manifestation of its power, I think. Painful, but not agonizing. It's a complete violation of my personal autonomy, but from an arcane viewpoint, it is very interesting. I wish I knew what it is or where it came from.
[00:34:28] Speaker E: Am I allowed to be sus. An ancient red dragon wouldn't know that.
[00:34:32] Speaker A: Give me a.
[00:34:34] Speaker E: Can I make an arcana check on the thing?
[00:34:36] Speaker A: Uh, you can make an arcana check on the thing, yes.
[00:34:41] Speaker E: A 20 unnatural.
[00:34:42] Speaker A: You have no idea. Okay, I figured that's a critical fail.
[00:34:46] Speaker E: Ouch.
[00:34:46] Speaker A: Oof.
[00:34:47] Speaker E: Okay. Hi, DC.
[00:34:48] Speaker A: You can do another knowledge arcana check on Chiron to try and figure out what he is.
[00:34:54] Speaker E: That's a 35. To figure out what Chiron is.
[00:34:56] Speaker A: Chiron is a young red dragon.
[00:35:01] Speaker E: What do I know about red dragons?
[00:35:02] Speaker A: Red dragons are chaotic neutral.
[00:35:05] Speaker B: Wait, they are second edition, apparently.
[00:35:07] Speaker E: Or at least this one is.
[00:35:08] Speaker A: This one is new, chaotic neutral. Let me. Sorry. Let me say that this one is chaotic neutral.
[00:35:15] Speaker B: I mean, out of character. Would Sarah think that was odd if she knows if she rolled a 35 on dragons? It's like this dragon is kayak neutral. That is not normal.
[00:35:24] Speaker A: Normal?
[00:35:25] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:35:26] Speaker A: Its behavior thus far has definitely been like, I misspoke. Young red dragons are normally chaotic evil. I told you, this one is neutral, so it is weird. The largest and most powerful of the chromatic dragons, red, are a menace to civilizations everywhere, and their strength is rivaled only by their arrogance. Red dragons see themselves as regents and overlords of all dragonkind, with their crown of crimson spikes and their command of blister flames. This is no haughty boast in their eyes, only unquestioned fact.
[00:36:00] Speaker E: I'm gonna go ahead and hazard an assumption that the thing in it is adjusting its alignment, but I feel like we also might need it, and I don't necessarily want to take it out.
[00:36:12] Speaker B: What, the thing in its chest?
[00:36:14] Speaker C: Uh huh.
[00:36:15] Speaker B: Well, I'm gonna say we don't need it.
From a story standpoint, it would be weird to be like, either you get the thing and murder a non evil creature, or you can't finish the adventure.
[00:36:27] Speaker E: Well, I was thinking well, he did.
[00:36:28] Speaker A: Say it was painful.
[00:36:29] Speaker E: Yeah. I see we have a healer here. We wouldn't murder him to take it out. I'm just worried that it'll flip his alignment back to evil if we do.
[00:36:36] Speaker B: Isn't it lodged in his chest, though? That just seems like a bad spot to be ripping pieces out. Maybe I'm overthinking. It.
[00:36:42] Speaker E: Is the gold there, is that separate from that piece now?
[00:36:46] Speaker A: Which gold?
[00:36:47] Speaker E: The gold that was, like, around it.
[00:36:48] Speaker A: Oh, uh, it has. The gold is coming from it. It started to radiate out from the wound.
[00:36:55] Speaker E: And did you. Did you notice a, um. You said it was a. An affront to your autonomy. Did you notice yourself feeling or thinking differently after. After it was embedded?
[00:37:06] Speaker A: Yes. It felt like someone stabbed me emotionally.
It just really hurt.
[00:37:16] Speaker B: Ooh, it's got an accent now.
[00:37:19] Speaker E: It's, like, weird, sudden british accent. We do have someone here who knows a bit about healing. Would you like us to try and remove it and have her, perhaps?
[00:37:30] Speaker A: I'm reasonably sure that taking this out would kill me, sadly, so, no. You should leave it in the, uh.
[00:37:39] Speaker E: She's gonna give a quick rundown of the conversation to the rest of the party and just be like, what? Do now?
[00:37:44] Speaker B: Um, well, it's not evil, so I don't know that we can execute it. I don't know. Do you speak Taldon?
[00:37:51] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:37:52] Speaker B: Which is common.
[00:37:53] Speaker A: Common? Yes. Yeah.
Yeah.
[00:37:55] Speaker E: This would be a really weird thing to do, to be, like, you have to speak draconic or you can't finish this matter.
[00:38:00] Speaker A: Uh, yes, I do.
[00:38:02] Speaker E: That makes this so much easier.
[00:38:03] Speaker B: Oh, great. Um, so what. What were you doing when they captured you?
[00:38:07] Speaker A: Balzimog and I had an irreconcilable philosophical disagreement about things.
I was of the opinion that she, well, was an idiot. And after a very persuasive argument on her part, I am forced to amend my argument. She is the. An idiot with the good for fortune of having powerful supporters in the Scarlet triad. But then they overwhelmed me, and I am now here.
[00:38:39] Speaker B: Right, but, like, do you live around here? Are you from the Moengi expanse?
[00:38:43] Speaker A: I've. I travel. Oh.
[00:38:45] Speaker B: I met someone like you. So, if. If we part ways, uh, what. What do you plan to do next?
[00:38:52] Speaker A: Well, uh, I don't. Not a big fan of the Scarlet Triad and what they're trying to do here, so I probably leave. And if I find any. Well, being the rightful king of dragons, I probably eat them.
[00:39:09] Speaker B: Um, so what. What are the Scarlet Triad trying to do here?
[00:39:14] Speaker A: Well, they seem to delight in meddling with zealots. As far as I can tell, they were using us. Certainly, they were too powerful and had too many resources to want us as an equal. I suspect that they were using the cinder clause to prepare this region for some unknown plan of their own. All of which I told Balzemog repeatedly. But no, Balzemog knows best. Well, we now know where that got her.
[00:39:47] Speaker E: Is the Scarlet triad, or Balzemog, independently attempting to call forth Dhawk?
[00:39:52] Speaker A: Oh, um, Balzemog will worship d hawk, and you see him spit when he says that.
I don't think the Scarlet Triad has anything to do with Dhak personally, but they were willing to fund the cinder claws in order to further their own gains.
[00:40:14] Speaker B: So if it sounds like you and Balzamag go way back.
[00:40:16] Speaker A: Hmm. Yes.
[00:40:18] Speaker B: What was Balzamaug?
[00:40:20] Speaker A: Well, initially, Balzamag was a boggart, but after praying to Dahak, apparently they. It. He took pleasure in warping her to this creature. That you, Lou?
[00:40:42] Speaker E: Well, if she started as a boggart, I can certainly see why you are correct in assuming she's an idiot.
[00:40:49] Speaker B: Well, I don't know what else to do.
I guess we could scour the fortress to see if there's anything left worth taking. And then I think we've crushed the cinder claws in the area. The scarlet triad was the scarlet trad, the one that we're funding elf. Evil elf lady.
[00:41:07] Speaker A: Yes, there is a connection there.
[00:41:09] Speaker E: Yeah, because I definitely remember that. And she was also looking for the Ayodhara.
[00:41:12] Speaker B: I don't know if it's the other way around. I don't. I think that they were funding her because she wanted to make, like, an assassin academy or something, and they were making her look for the Ayodhara. I don't know. It's very complicated. Over years of playing, it's hard to remember.
[00:41:24] Speaker E: Either way, I'm not entirely convinced that they have nothing to do with Dahak.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: So just to kind of remind you what you. What you learned.
[00:41:35] Speaker B: Vaz. That's her name.
[00:41:36] Speaker C: Mm hmm.
[00:41:37] Speaker A: Vaz vase Lorraine was trying to start an assassin's and thieves guild back in Breach Hill. She was getting funding from this mysterious scarlet triad. Now, you found out that the Cinder claws, specifically Belzemog, was being funded by the Scarlet Triad as well.
[00:41:59] Speaker B: Okay, so they just have their fingers in a lot of pies.
[00:42:02] Speaker C: It's like, it. What now, then?
[00:42:04] Speaker B: I'm just trying to get my head around this. So they. So Chiron and Belzamag were old buddies, and the scarlet triad came around gave Balzamag the ability to.
I think you said something about raising the dragon pillars. They raised the dragon pillars. Or she raised the dragon pillars with their help or something like that.
[00:42:21] Speaker A: Mm hmm. Well, she was in charge of the cinder claws and started raising the pillars in her worship of Dahak, right between Chiron and Belzemog. They had a difference that he was kind of flighty about acknowledging, and that caused a break in their friendship. And then suddenly, he was stabbed and chained up and trying to be sacrificed to Dahak.
[00:42:46] Speaker B: Yeah, they jammed some thing in his chest.
[00:42:49] Speaker A: Yep. A gold shard. And you see the gold is starting to spread out from the womb.
[00:42:55] Speaker B: So I want to make a pun about the wrath of a chardalon, which was a thing from different edition of D and D, but I can't. There's something in there.
[00:43:04] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah, there is.
[00:43:06] Speaker A: Oh, also, sorry, real quick. We kind of glossed over you guys joining in in this dragon conversation. But, Brianna, when you cut the gold off of Balzamag, as soon as the gold hit the ground, it turned into dust.
[00:43:22] Speaker C: Well, what do I have to roll to know more about that?
[00:43:26] Speaker A: A number on the die.
[00:43:28] Speaker C: Good, good. Yes. Continue.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: Could it be crafting?
[00:43:31] Speaker A: It could be crafting. It also could be religion.
[00:43:34] Speaker C: Hmm. Well, let's see which one is higher. I have a sneaking suspicion it's gonna be crafting, though.
[00:43:40] Speaker B: Woman after my own heart. What gives me the best mod?
[00:43:43] Speaker C: You know it.
I am expert crafting. I am a smith, after all. So let's roll that. Do I learn anything, 21?
[00:43:53] Speaker A: You do. You do, actually, by looking at the gold and looking at the skull. Now that the eyes are off of it and that you've destroyed parts of the skeleton, you notice that they seem to all be connected. And as the skeleton started to be destroyed, the gold, as it was pouring down black wisps of it, it became less and less corporeal. So. So it seems like this was magical gold somehow being maintained through the skull.
[00:44:21] Speaker C: Okay, I think my next question was more to do with the silver look alike. Ah, yes, but it's dust, right? There's no way to.
[00:44:32] Speaker B: You could ask the dragon if he knows him.
[00:44:34] Speaker A: It's a pile of clothes and dust in the clothes.
[00:44:37] Speaker C: Cool.
[00:44:38] Speaker A: There is a guitar.
[00:44:40] Speaker C: Sure.
Forgive me. I do not mean to interrupt your conversation, but the. The gentleman that was here, the. The bald one that unfortunately. Well, maybe not unfortunately. The one that fell. What. What do you know of them?
[00:44:55] Speaker A: Unfortunately, not much. The scarlet triad sent him as a representative to speak with Balzimog to help see if she needed anything else. But he had just arrived and was very creepy and misunderstood. Mysterious, very flighty with answers.
[00:45:19] Speaker E: I kind of want to press him on the press, Chiron, on the disagreement thing. Since you did bring up he was flighty about it.
[00:45:25] Speaker A: Okay. What do you say?
[00:45:27] Speaker E: Can you. I know you said you had a disagreement with Elsimog. Was it anything in particular?
[00:45:34] Speaker A: She used me. She hoped I would serve as hawks avatar, but I served well enough as an unwilling vessel for the destroyer's power.
Do you know what it is to look upon the face of a God? To know that all of your wrath and hate could burn the whole world clean? And that you would still be nothing more than a dying speck in the face of an inferno?
[00:45:58] Speaker E: Why, yes. I actually have nightmares quite like that almost every night.
[00:46:01] Speaker A: Then you understand.
[00:46:04] Speaker E: Is there anything else we can do?
[00:46:06] Speaker A: Help you?
[00:46:07] Speaker E: Is there somewhere.
[00:46:08] Speaker A: No. You blow in a hole, clear out the side. I think I can take off from here.
[00:46:14] Speaker E: Well, fine, then. If you're going to be like that.
[00:46:18] Speaker A: And with that, he stands to full height, stretches his wings, and starts to leave.
[00:46:24] Speaker C: Goodbye, then.
[00:46:25] Speaker B: Pinewatcher will be so disappointed.
[00:46:27] Speaker E: Well, that was a thing.
[00:46:33] Speaker D: Knife sword is going to climb out of the backpack for a second. He's going to walk around one of the remaining walls, and you're just going to hear some humming and some running water.
A couple seconds later, he's going to come back, jump up, and climb back in and go back to sleep.
[00:46:46] Speaker C: No. Get out. Go wash your hands first. Get back in there. Get out.
[00:46:52] Speaker D: No.
[00:46:53] Speaker C: Get.
[00:46:54] Speaker B: Get out.
[00:46:55] Speaker E: Get out.
[00:46:56] Speaker C: Don't hiss at me.
[00:46:58] Speaker A: So I'm assuming you guys are gonna comb through the rest of this building looking for stuff?
[00:47:05] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:47:06] Speaker A: So in the back, behind the skull, you find a little nook with a sleeping cabin, and you find a bunch of things in a little chest.
[00:47:18] Speaker E: I was afraid we were gonna find, like, a sleeping creature.
[00:47:21] Speaker A: No, you found 800 3330 gold pieces, 3950 silver pieces, 7800 copper pieces.
[00:47:38] Speaker C: Nice. Nice.
[00:47:39] Speaker A: A stack of gold nuggets.
[00:47:42] Speaker E: Are they arsenic gold nuggets?
[00:47:43] Speaker A: Yes. You find 20 of them. You find a shield, a longbow, a rod and a wand.
[00:47:53] Speaker E: Remind me how we identify things like the rod and the wand.
[00:47:56] Speaker A: So if you want to identify the rod, it is an arcana check. It's actually. It's any of the magical schools. For both of those magical items, I'd.
[00:48:10] Speaker D: Like to identify the wand.
[00:48:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:48:12] Speaker E: I'll take a look at the rod, then. Through 24.
[00:48:14] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:48:14] Speaker E: Arcana.
[00:48:15] Speaker A: Yep. Rob, what did you roll for? Arcana.
[00:48:18] Speaker D: Oh, Arcana.
[00:48:18] Speaker A: Or whatever. Whatever one you want to use. Occult. That works.
[00:48:23] Speaker D: Okay. Yeah, I'll take that one.
[00:48:24] Speaker A: The wand is a wand of dimension door.
[00:48:28] Speaker B: It's a wand of dementia.
[00:48:29] Speaker A: And the rod is a rod of wonder.
[00:48:36] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:48:36] Speaker A: That's the name of it. Rod of wonder.
[00:48:39] Speaker D: I wonder what it does.
[00:48:40] Speaker A: A rod of wonder. This particular rod is strange and unprecedented. Each time it is activated, it produces a variety of effects at random. It takes two actions to activate it. You can choose a creature within 60ft roll a percentage die, and on the table, determine the rods effect.
[00:48:59] Speaker E: Oh, dear.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: Are the effects all bad or all good or a mix?
[00:49:03] Speaker A: They are mixed. If you look at the rod of wonder in the group loot sheet, there should be a little table that you can click. It should say, at the very bottom, it should say rod of Wonderland. But you have things like leaves grow from the target darkness spell, summon a giant stag beetle as a fifth level. Summon animal. Spell a stream of 600 large and colorful butterflies pour forth in a 20 foot burst for two rounds. Creatures are blinded while in the cloud of butterflies.
Lightning bolt, gust of wind. There's a whole bunch of things that could happen.
[00:49:38] Speaker C: Fun.
[00:49:39] Speaker A: So, yeah, that's what those are. You also have the bow and the shield.
And you also find a journal, because what good adventure does it not have.
[00:49:52] Speaker B: If we don't befriend the bad guy and get them to tell us all the information? Or if we kill the red Dragon, we need a journal to tell us all the things that he told us.
[00:50:00] Speaker A: Probably. If you would like to look at the bow, you can try and identify it with any of the magics. And same deal with the shield.
[00:50:10] Speaker B: I would like someone to do that. I can't do it.
[00:50:12] Speaker E: Yeah. I'll check on the bow.
[00:50:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:50:16] Speaker C: I mean, if it's magical, I can't do anything.
[00:50:19] Speaker B: Well, you can use religion, I thought, right?
[00:50:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:50:21] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, sure. I'll check the shield then.
[00:50:23] Speaker A: All right. What did you get for the bow?
[00:50:25] Speaker E: 27 for the bow with Arcana.
[00:50:27] Speaker A: 27 for the bowden. That is a plus two striking longbow.
[00:50:33] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:50:35] Speaker A: And what did you roll for the shield? Shield?
[00:50:41] Speaker C: Not great. I rolled a 16.
[00:50:42] Speaker A: Not enough, unfortunately.
[00:50:44] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:50:45] Speaker C: No idea what this is.
[00:50:46] Speaker A: Someone else like to look at it.
[00:50:47] Speaker B: I think it's a shield.
[00:50:48] Speaker C: It's a dinner plate.
[00:50:49] Speaker B: Oh, good.
[00:50:50] Speaker C: No, no, it's dinner plate.
[00:50:51] Speaker B: Well, you're the smith. I trust you.
[00:50:52] Speaker A: You didn't. Oh, actually, you did critically fail.
[00:50:55] Speaker B: So it's probably for the dragon. That's why it's so big.
[00:50:59] Speaker C: What do you mean? We can make nice paella here. It's fine.
[00:51:01] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:51:03] Speaker A: What? Saraya or knife sword. Like to take a look at it?
[00:51:06] Speaker E: Knife sword? Are you still napping?
[00:51:09] Speaker D: What? Huh?
[00:51:11] Speaker C: There you go. Poking his head out.
[00:51:14] Speaker E: I'll take a look at it if he is but lunch.
[00:51:17] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:51:18] Speaker D: Okay. Bye.
[00:51:19] Speaker C: Lunche.
[00:51:23] Speaker E: It's another 27 of the shield.
[00:51:25] Speaker A: This is called a dragon slayer's shield.
[00:51:29] Speaker B: Hey, dragon, come back.
[00:51:32] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[00:51:34] Speaker A: A dragon slayer's shield is a solid steel shield covered with dragon hide from certain types of dragons, which distinguish each shield from the other. While raised this shield hardness 832 hit points, breakpoint 16. And a repair of DC 28 grants its circumstance bonus to reflex saves against area effects as well as AC as normal.
[00:51:58] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:51:59] Speaker A: While you hold this shield, it also grants you a two circumstance bonus to will saves against a dragon's frightful presence ability. The shield has resistance ten against the damage type corresponding to the type of dragon whose hide was used in its creation. This applies after reducing the damage for hardness. So when you use shield block, the dragon slayer shield takes 18 less damage from the attack of that damage type. You can use shield blocks against attacks of that damage type.
[00:52:28] Speaker B: So what. What dragon hide is it made of?
[00:52:31] Speaker A: So it doesn't say. So I figure we should do a good old fashioned roll.
[00:52:41] Speaker B: Seems fair to me.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: Can you roll a D six? Hyah. Cause I'm going to assume you're the one who might use it.
[00:52:46] Speaker C: Probably. That is a very good assumption. Oh, I rolled a six.
[00:52:51] Speaker A: So a six is dealer's choice. So it's your choice. Roller's choice. So you could do black or copper, which would give acid. Blue or bronze for electricity, brass for fire, green for poison, gold or red for fire, or silver or white for cold.
[00:53:13] Speaker C: I'm going to put this dinner plate on my back now, and I'm going to make paella on it later.
[00:53:21] Speaker B: Okay?
[00:53:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:53:22] Speaker B: Do you know what. What element you would like to be more resistant to?
[00:53:25] Speaker C: Can't I choose on a whim whenever I want to?
[00:53:29] Speaker A: You could. I'll let you do that on the first time. But then that's going to lock it in.
[00:53:34] Speaker B: Good thing I have this shield specifically for this one thing, right?
[00:53:38] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:53:40] Speaker A: We can talk about it off air. Okay. I'm now going to take cinematic control of your characters.
[00:53:47] Speaker B: Was that. Was that everything that was in the. In the complex here?
[00:53:50] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:53:50] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:53:51] Speaker A: Yes. As well as the journal.
[00:53:52] Speaker B: Did what's her face have any stuff on her bellsmag since I released her from her gold prison? By me, I mean Brianna.
[00:54:00] Speaker A: No, she doesn't actually she was a divine caster, that's why.
[00:54:04] Speaker B: Oh, so she didn't have any, like, magic armor.
[00:54:07] Speaker A: That's why fireball kept getting cast.
[00:54:09] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:54:10] Speaker A: As you've finally cleared out this fortress of sorrow, you all start to head out towards the front door, and you see a group of ekuje elves standing there waiting for you. They are cheering and singing and dancing in a appreciation for you destroying all of the pillars. They escort you carefully and safely back to a crevel and give you a place to rest and heal you up. And once again, another feast ensues.
They look at you questioningly with the fact that there is now a goblin with you and no one longer. Three of your party members, but you regale the story to them, and they nod in solemn understanding, and they smile. They give you packs and escort you back to Hunters gate, where you open the gate to head back to Breech hill.
[00:55:17] Speaker C: Does Denver trumpet along and come with us?
[00:55:21] Speaker A: He does not come through the gate, but he does follow you.
[00:55:25] Speaker D: Can I stuff food from the feast into Brianna's backpack for later?
[00:55:29] Speaker C: Why is this suddenly really heavy?
[00:55:32] Speaker A: They give you your own backpack full.
[00:55:34] Speaker D: Of food, which I can stuff in Brianna's backpack when I put it right in there, right?
[00:55:39] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:55:43] Speaker A: As you go to go through the portal, jahasi stops you. Stops you, says, oh, one more thing. I have another gift from the ekuje for all you have done. We were told to keep it safe, but we feel it would be better in your hands as we now have to clean up the rest of the mess that the cinder claws created. You have done us a great deal of help by cutting the head off of the snake, so to speak.
So with that, I would like to give you this. A star knife called eclipse. This is another portal key for another ayodhara found in Elseta's ring. This is associated with the goddess Desna and the Dreamgate portal. Associated with her?
We have long protected this portal key, as well as the hunter's arrowhead. But since you have proven yourselves so worthy to defend them, we think that this would be best given to you. And with that, Jahasi and his new boyfriend that you helped set up.
[00:56:49] Speaker B: Yay.
[00:56:50] Speaker A: Wave goodbye to you, as well as Nikedia and the rest of the group. Renali thanks you for bringing her back to the Mwange expanse. You enter the portal and head back to reach hill. And with that, we have finished book two of the age of Ashes adventure pack cult of cinders.
[00:57:19] Speaker E: Oh, my God.
Wow.
[00:57:22] Speaker C: What a journey. Holy cow.
[00:57:24] Speaker A: Oh, wait.
[00:57:25] Speaker D: What happened?
[00:57:26] Speaker A: Yeah, one more thing.
You all level up to level nine. Yes.
[00:57:36] Speaker B: So many stabs.
[00:57:38] Speaker E: So many stabs. So many bombs.
