[00:00:39] Speaker A: Welcome to the 75th episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:00:45] Speaker B: Everything hurts and I'm dying.
[00:00:49] Speaker C: I only have one thing to say. Ow, ow, ow, ow.
[00:00:53] Speaker A: Right.
[00:00:53] Speaker B: I want to point out some very sad news.
[00:00:56] Speaker A: Uh oh.
[00:00:57] Speaker B: When. So when you fixed Jasper's hit points because you accidentally gave him, like, the 72 damage that was supposed to go to knife sword.
[00:01:04] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:01:05] Speaker B: You actually healed him up too much. And my poor baby is actually at dying one.
[00:01:09] Speaker A: No.
[00:01:09] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:01:10] Speaker B: My poor baby.
[00:01:11] Speaker A: Well, I'm just happy that you guys have made it. Fuck you.
To three quarters of a century. 75. And I look forward to the new characters that we'll be playing in the next 75 episodes.
[00:01:26] Speaker E: You might Android Druid.
[00:01:28] Speaker A: Actually possible now.
[00:01:30] Speaker E: Yeah, stupid. And I'm gonna play it if you make me.
[00:01:34] Speaker B: Is he making you? Or are you electing to.
[00:01:37] Speaker E: No, no. If he kills Twintalon, he's forcing me to play something stupid like an Android druid.
[00:01:41] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm gonna play something crazy like a goblin sorcerer.
[00:01:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:01:46] Speaker D: Is his name gonna be sword knife by any chance?
[00:01:49] Speaker E: Sword knife? Whole dark teeth Seagull.
[00:01:53] Speaker C: No, no, no. It's gonna be Chimera Cherokee. Weird shaped rib room.
[00:02:00] Speaker B: Weird shaped rib room.
[00:02:02] Speaker A: I do. So, Matt, you are referencing the lost omens ancestry guide, aren't you?
[00:02:08] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:02:09] Speaker A: Yes. There are some really interesting new heritages and ancestries in that book. I am a big fan of the undyne, and they have some adorable new lushies in there. So very excited. I like the book a lot. It's very pretty.
[00:02:24] Speaker E: I'm glad that fetchlings are back. Cause I had a fetchling character I liked very much. But I don't wanna die. I don't wanna have to make a new character.
[00:02:32] Speaker B: I don't fight better.
[00:02:34] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:02:34] Speaker E: Roll. Hide. That's weird. I've just been doing the opposite on purpose.
[00:02:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:02:38] Speaker B: Oh, man. I just gotta. Just gotta adjust that one thing. Duh.
[00:02:42] Speaker A: So when we last left, you guys are getting your butts kicked. Well, actually, let me rephrase this. Knife sword was getting his butt kicked. Jasper got his butt kicked. Everyone else is okay. You started fighting a chimera, closed the door, and then some other creatures started running through the hallways to try and surround you and fight you. This droning guitar continues to play, underscoring this battle. Soraya got some really bad information about chimeras.
[00:03:14] Speaker B: Look, if I wanted. If I wanted that to happen, I would have taken the specific advancement for it. Like, there's a feat for that.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Since you're all getting your butts kicked so bad and it's the beginning of a new episode. I gave you all a hero point.
[00:03:26] Speaker B: Oh, like, we get every episode, Shawn.
[00:03:29] Speaker E: I love how you always do that. Like, it's magnanimous when it's literally in the rules, right? But it's like standard operating procedure. It would be like if my boss every week was like, I'm gonna pay you this week. It's like, yes, I showed up for work. That's what you do. I don't. I'm not coming here for fun. I mean, I do come here for fun, but here are points anyway.
[00:03:47] Speaker A: Also, when we last left, this dragon bodied, churica faced creature was about to take a bite out of crime. And by crime, I mean Brianna. So I'm gonna roll that now.
[00:04:00] Speaker E: Yes. The champion. The epitome of crime.
[00:04:03] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: It's a crime against this creature.
[00:04:07] Speaker B: It's a crime against true manity.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: Mmm.
Wow. 28 to hit, Brianna.
[00:04:15] Speaker D: Ha ha.
[00:04:16] Speaker A: Miss.
[00:04:17] Speaker D: Miss.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Okay, here we go with a claw. 27.
[00:04:21] Speaker D: Oh, still a miss.
[00:04:22] Speaker A: And a third claw. Well, a second claw. Third attack. It was on a 20. It was on a 2014, I believe.
[00:04:32] Speaker D: Let me quadruple check. But that might be a critical fail.
[00:04:36] Speaker B: Yeah, that would crickfell against me, I'm sure. Against you.
[00:04:39] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm pretty, pretty sure. Anything below a 19 would be a critical fail.
[00:04:45] Speaker A: Go for the eyes. You are dazzled until the end of your next turn.
[00:04:50] Speaker E: So dazzled is way different in this version of the last one. It's actually, like, useful. Now.
[00:04:58] Speaker A: Your eyes are overstimulated. Creatures are concealed from me.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: Oh, so you have flat five. Check.
[00:05:04] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:05:05] Speaker E: To do anything.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: Well, it's now one of my many creatures turns. It's going to do things. Knife, sword, it is your turn. By the way, just so everyone is aware, this is the fifth round of combat. Fourth round of combat. I'm sorry. So you guys have survived a total of four rounds?
[00:05:28] Speaker E: Not yet. This is the fourth.
[00:05:30] Speaker A: That's true. That is true. Knife, sword, it is your turn.
[00:05:34] Speaker C: I'm gonna scream at the retreating churrokai. Okay, I'm gonna lower my voice into a different register.
[00:05:40] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:05:42] Speaker C: You have now pissed me off, for I am the deathlord revas gyar, and I am now going to show all of our true forms as you turn to my will.
With that, I shall cast veil and turn everyone into varying sized skeletons.
[00:06:04] Speaker A: O okay.
[00:06:07] Speaker E: We see this too.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: Yay.
[00:06:10] Speaker E: What is this?
[00:06:10] Speaker C: And then on magic missile. The guy's running away.
[00:06:12] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: Um, yeah. Do we all look like skeletons to ourselves now? Like.
[00:06:19] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, everybody does.
[00:06:22] Speaker D: I must murder everybody outside. Then.
[00:06:30] Speaker B: Oh God. That's right.
[00:06:32] Speaker D: Everybody's undead. I must kill.
[00:06:36] Speaker B: Brianna. Brianna. It's an illusion.
[00:06:38] Speaker A: It's an illusion.
No.
[00:06:40] Speaker C: Must murder.
Actually instead of magic mistook. I want to use a deception check and try to convince this guy that I'm right.
[00:06:48] Speaker A: Okay. Make a deception roll versus their perception. DC so I have their perception. DC so make a. Make a rolly roll. 28 versus their perception. I lied. I didn't have it. Ready. Ah there it is. That will succeed. He believes you.
[00:07:10] Speaker C: Okay. That's my turn.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:07:12] Speaker B: So we all look like skeletons and he believes everything dark Uldra said.
[00:07:15] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:07:16] Speaker C: Believes I am the dark God. Reverse agar.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: What?
[00:07:20] Speaker D: Brienne is so confused cause she can't lie.
[00:07:23] Speaker A: It's also you're not. He is.
[00:07:26] Speaker D: Yes. But if he's going to ask me to pretend to be a skeleton, I cannot do this thing.
[00:07:32] Speaker E: Right. He made you look like a skeleton. You don't have to pretend to do anything.
[00:07:36] Speaker C: I didn't ask. I just did it.
[00:07:39] Speaker D: Consent.
[00:07:43] Speaker A: Well Brianna it is your turn. As a bunch of my creatures just moved.
[00:07:47] Speaker D: Brianna's gonna start stabbing at herself because she thinks she's a skeleton. No. There's this creature right in front of Brianna and I'm gonna do what she does best.
[00:07:58] Speaker A: Raise your shield.
[00:07:59] Speaker D: No, no. That's the second thing she does best.
[00:08:01] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:08:02] Speaker B: How's it?
[00:08:02] Speaker A: 236-2323 will miss.
[00:08:09] Speaker D: Cool. Take my hair point because why not?
[00:08:13] Speaker A: Here. Roll the six. Like how can roll work?
[00:08:15] Speaker E: Oh shut up Shawn.
[00:08:16] Speaker D: I could. And why do you always you.
Now that you've said that I'm going to roll worse.
[00:08:23] Speaker A: Nah, not possible.
[00:08:25] Speaker D: Not that much better. How's a 26?
[00:08:29] Speaker A: That will also miss cool.
[00:08:31] Speaker D: I'm gonna try again.
[00:08:32] Speaker A: Okay. Second attack.
[00:08:34] Speaker D: What attack do I do? Second attack. I was so close to 17. Fuck.
22 will miss and I will raise my shield.
[00:08:44] Speaker A: Okay saraya.
[00:08:47] Speaker B: I'm going to.
I'm gonna have to spend my whole turn. I'm gonna run over. Make an. Administer an elixir of life to Jasper.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: Okay. So go ahead and move. Administer and heal Jasper. As opposed to knife sword. Totally cool.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: He just turned me into a skeleton and he's still standing for the moment.
[00:09:09] Speaker C: Jasper's still a skeleton too.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: Yeah. You're spooky and scary. Twin Talon.
[00:09:15] Speaker E: Twin Talon is going to step up to the retroc. He's going to move in such a way to be very goofy. Skeleton moving just like forward.
He'll play into it. He doesn't have any compunctions about lying.
And he will stab at the retroc. 33 versus his flat footed ac.
[00:09:37] Speaker A: That will hit. Yes.
[00:09:39] Speaker E: My damage still is garbage. It's been a week. Come on. 18 damage.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: I love when it's a nice even like multiple because hit one button.
[00:09:48] Speaker E: Okay. And then I will attack again.
[00:09:51] Speaker A: Still alive.
[00:09:51] Speaker E: 22 versus flat footed ac will miss.
[00:09:54] Speaker A: Okay, one more act. Oh no, you moved and you swingy. Swallow, step, strike, strike rate.
[00:09:59] Speaker B: Ooh.
[00:10:00] Speaker A: Oh, you scared this guy. So he's not gonna attack you. Nice sword. So he's gonna move and then he is going past.
[00:10:08] Speaker C: He still looks like a skeleton by.
[00:10:10] Speaker E: The way, so yeah, the party does, right?
[00:10:12] Speaker C: You know? No, no, everybody, him. Oh, the rattrack us.
[00:10:17] Speaker A: Oh Jesus.
[00:10:19] Speaker B: Everyone apart.
[00:10:21] Speaker C: Oh yeah, it's not everybody.
[00:10:22] Speaker B: Oh Jesus.
[00:10:23] Speaker C: So that guy's a skeleton when he runs up to his friends, well then.
[00:10:26] Speaker A: He'S not gonna care because he's gonna.
[00:10:28] Speaker E: I think that would be horrifying to look down in your hands. Like just your flesh isn't there anymore.
[00:10:34] Speaker C: Yeah, the flesh just kind of melded away into a puddle on the ground and then you know, like the Indiana Jones dude.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: So let's see how many people I get with this.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: No, no, but Jasper has eight hit points back.
[00:10:45] Speaker A: Eight hit points back to Jasper. Okay, uh, sorry.
[00:10:48] Speaker B: Actually it's three D. Six plus six.
[00:10:50] Speaker A: So he is 1313 points back to Jasper. You see this creature as it's running, freaking out that everything is a skeleton. It throws a small bead.
[00:11:01] Speaker E: Oh, fireball.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: And everyone in that circle please give me a reflex save.
[00:11:08] Speaker B: I must say this oracle, that includes.
[00:11:11] Speaker A: Its friend like duck.
[00:11:13] Speaker D: Fuck me. 17 for me.
[00:11:16] Speaker A: That's a fail.
Wait, 17? No. Is that a. Is that a. No, it's a regular fail.
[00:11:24] Speaker D: Ah, Sean.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: Sorry.
[00:11:26] Speaker B: You're a jerk.
[00:11:27] Speaker A: Twin Talon, twin Talon.
[00:11:28] Speaker E: Got a 20. Is that a fail?
[00:11:30] Speaker A: A 20 is a fail.
[00:11:32] Speaker E: I will use my hero point. I rolled a two, so try to not roll a one on 1117. So it's a 35.
[00:11:42] Speaker A: That is a critical success. Knife, sword, what did you roll?
[00:11:46] Speaker C: I got a 32. Cause I'm tired of this fire shit.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: That's a regular success. So you will take half damage.
Brianna takes half damage. The creature that is dazzled will take a full damage and twin Talon will take no damage. 23 points of damage.
[00:12:06] Speaker C: But nice knowing you folks.
[00:12:07] Speaker B: Is that full or is that half?
[00:12:09] Speaker E: That's full.
[00:12:10] Speaker A: That's full. Oh my. Does that kill you?
[00:12:13] Speaker C: Yep. No, it kills me.
[00:12:15] Speaker B: Uh, eleven points.
[00:12:17] Speaker D: Can't liberate, can I?
[00:12:18] Speaker A: Yeah, can't.
[00:12:19] Speaker E: Why can't you just use a tacker opportunity on her turn?
[00:12:22] Speaker B: Oh, the eleven damage is enough to kill you?
[00:12:24] Speaker C: Yep. I have eleven pit points.
[00:12:26] Speaker D: That was last week's attack of opportunity, right? I'm trying to remember.
[00:12:29] Speaker E: I don't think you've gotten a. A round a turn since then.
[00:12:32] Speaker A: No, she did.
[00:12:33] Speaker D: I did. I just attacked the.
[00:12:35] Speaker A: She just attacked the creature and raised his shield. Yeah. Oh, you can liberate him then?
[00:12:39] Speaker E: Absolutely.
[00:12:40] Speaker D: Then yes.
[00:12:40] Speaker E: I'm sorry.
[00:12:41] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So you take one point of damage.
[00:12:46] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:12:46] Speaker E: Does that kill you?
[00:12:47] Speaker A: Because your liberation. No, it does nothing.
[00:12:52] Speaker D: Good lord.
[00:12:54] Speaker A: And then Brianna, you took regular. You took half damage, right?
[00:12:58] Speaker D: Half damage, you said. Yep. It was a regular fail. So half damage then. Okay.
[00:13:03] Speaker A: Oh, regular fail is full damage.
[00:13:04] Speaker D: Okay then full damage.
[00:13:05] Speaker A: Twin Talon, no damage.
[00:13:08] Speaker E: I wish, I wish if I crit succeeded on a thing that I don't need to crit succeed on, like if I crit succeeded on reflex saves. I wish I could give other people bonuses to that since it's just a waste.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: Cool idea. Hey Paizo, come on.
[00:13:19] Speaker E: Let me help my friends.
[00:13:21] Speaker A: Okay, well, that was its turn. It is now the creature that Brianna and twin Talon are fighting. So it is going to bite at twin Talon. Actually, it's gonna bite at Brianna. 36.
[00:13:38] Speaker E: Did you roll your, your flat check?
[00:13:40] Speaker A: No, I did not.
I roll the flat four.
I bite at Brianna and I miss. Then I will try and claw Twintallon with a natural one to try and see him.
And then I'll swing my claws a third time at him. Natural 20 to see. So now I get to swing at a -31 to hit 31 with a.
[00:14:08] Speaker E: Minus ten and or minus eight.
[00:14:10] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Oyoi.
[00:14:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:14:12] Speaker E: He hit me.
[00:14:12] Speaker D: Sorry. I cannot live.
[00:14:13] Speaker E: I'm just incredulous.
[00:14:14] Speaker A: He rolled 30, 914 points of damage.
[00:14:20] Speaker E: Which means at his. He's got a plus 20 to hit. At least for that to be true. So.
[00:14:26] Speaker A: Oh, I also wanna point out you guys did survive the fourth round. It is now the fifth round.
[00:14:30] Speaker B: Oh yay. Yay.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: Knife sword, it is your turn.
[00:14:35] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:14:36] Speaker B: Oh, if the retrorecht just. Or is that the other one?
[00:14:39] Speaker A: Oh, it did. I need.
[00:14:40] Speaker B: So it takes a ton of resistance damage.
[00:14:43] Speaker E: Actually, before it. Before it went. It took a bunch of damage.
[00:14:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes, before it went.
[00:14:48] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:14:49] Speaker A: So it may have not done anything. So I need two d eight from knife sword. I need two d four from Brianna or from Saraya.
[00:14:56] Speaker B: It takes six poison damage.
[00:14:58] Speaker A: Okay, and how much two d eight. How much of the twin talon you still take that damage? Oh, close. Oh, I need to make some reflex fortitude save, so give me a second. A one and a two won't save. So it's still taking that damage.
[00:15:14] Speaker E: So the persistent negative energy is just a flat check. I don't know about if Sorayas is different with the fortitude. It is what it is, but normally persistent is.
[00:15:21] Speaker A: I still fail flat check.
[00:15:23] Speaker E: 15.
[00:15:23] Speaker A: Now, knife sword, it is your turn.
[00:15:26] Speaker C: All right, I'm going to point a finger at it. And now I'm going to be like. Now you shall feel the chilling darkness of death, and I'm gonna cast. Chilling darkness of death.
[00:15:39] Speaker A: Yeah, I figured I got that somehow. I read between the lines a little bit there. 28 to hit on the creature between twin Talon and Brianna.
[00:15:50] Speaker C: Mm hmm. That will hit noise 21, cold damage plus several things to target. You deal. Five d, six cold damage, plus five d, six evil damage. If target is celestial, probably not.
[00:16:03] Speaker A: Nope.
[00:16:04] Speaker C: So. Yep. 5d cold damage.
[00:16:06] Speaker A: So it freezes into a statue and then continues to get colder and colder. And with the temperature adjustments, it shatters into a million pieces.
[00:16:19] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:16:19] Speaker A: And dies.
[00:16:21] Speaker D: Good work. Knife, sword.
[00:16:23] Speaker E: One down, 80 to go.
[00:16:25] Speaker D: Let's do it.
[00:16:26] Speaker A: Knife, sword. You still have one action left.
[00:16:27] Speaker C: I need a nap. I'm just gonna sit down where I am.
[00:16:32] Speaker D: This isn't Gloomhaven. Get up.
[00:16:37] Speaker A: Rihanna. It is your turn.
[00:16:39] Speaker D: Unfortunately, I can't do anything to help dark hole, can I?
[00:16:43] Speaker A: Unless you have a potion you laid on hands. He's been.
[00:16:46] Speaker E: Battle medicine.
[00:16:47] Speaker A: Battle medicine? So it takes an hour?
[00:16:49] Speaker E: No, it's a day.
[00:16:50] Speaker A: A day. I'm sorry, you're right.
[00:16:52] Speaker D: And for me to refocus, it would take, what, ten rounds?
[00:16:56] Speaker E: Essentially ten minutes to 100 rounds.
[00:16:59] Speaker D: 100 rounds? Good lord. Okay, so let's see what's going on with the dragon priest. Let's just take care of things that we know are around. Yes. No, sure. So Brandon's gonna step in through the door.
[00:17:12] Speaker A: Okay. I just want to point out that you should all look into the group loot sheet to look at some of the things you have. That's it.
[00:17:20] Speaker B: Yeah, we probably. Probably have, like, potions and stuff in there.
[00:17:24] Speaker E: Yeah, but they're probably in the bag of holding, which I have.
[00:17:27] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. But I'm just saying have stuff. You're not as screwed as you think you is. Brianna, you step up.
[00:17:34] Speaker D: I've stepped up to the dragon priest, and I'm going to strike.
[00:17:37] Speaker A: Are you? Let's see. What do you roll?
[00:17:40] Speaker D: Fuck. A seven for a 24 will hit. Excellent. Take 17 points of damage.
[00:17:46] Speaker A: Okay, I will.
[00:17:48] Speaker D: Are you still standing?
[00:17:49] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:17:49] Speaker D: Let's do it again with an 18 miss. Okay. And shield goes up.
[00:17:56] Speaker A: Shield goes up.
[00:17:57] Speaker D: No, nevermind. Shield does not go up since I moved and struck twice.
[00:18:01] Speaker A: Ah, yes. Correct, Soraya.
[00:18:04] Speaker B: What? I have looked through the group loot. We do have three minor healing potions and six less of healing potions. I'm gonna leave Jasper where he is to recover a little bit. I'm gonna head back this way. I'm gonna throw an alchemist fire at the dragon priest because I don't think he mean to fire. Correct me if I'm wrong.
[00:18:20] Speaker E: I don't. I don't believe he's mean to anything that we've noticed. But I don't know. I don't think we've used fire on him.
[00:18:25] Speaker B: Let's see what happens.
[00:18:27] Speaker A: 33 critical hit.
[00:18:30] Speaker B: Fuck.
[00:18:30] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:18:32] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:18:33] Speaker D: Alrighty.
[00:18:34] Speaker B: Let me get my card.
The most times I've ever created, guys. The target loses one random prepared spell or spell slot as determined by the GM.
[00:18:42] Speaker A: Um, that's not actually.
[00:18:45] Speaker B: No, he's a priest.
[00:18:46] Speaker C: He.
[00:18:46] Speaker B: He actually does spells and shit. Ha.
[00:18:48] Speaker A: Do me a favor. Okay, well, do your damage first. Yeah.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: 24 fire damage.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: 24 points of fire damage.
Now roll me a d. Four.
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Rolling one.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Now roll me a d. Three one. Okay. It loses a spell.
[00:19:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:19:06] Speaker A: That's how we randomly decided it.
[00:19:08] Speaker B: Alrighty then. So it does have two persistent fire damage on it as well.
[00:19:12] Speaker A: Uh, no, thank you.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: Uh, yes, please.
I'm gonna fish around in my bag for the healing potion I am carrying. And next turn, I will give it to Darkool.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: All right, it is now Quintalone's turn.
[00:19:28] Speaker B: Sorry.
[00:19:29] Speaker D: I keep giggling because Talon, especially the way you're saying it in Spanish, means heels, so. Yeah, sorry.
[00:19:37] Speaker E: Like, high heels.
[00:19:38] Speaker D: It could be, yeah. It basically just means, like, heel of the foot. But I think Tacon is more like high heels. Tacones, at least in Castilian from Spain.
[00:19:51] Speaker B: That sounds very much like an automatopoeia kind of name when you're walking.
[00:19:57] Speaker D: Absolutely.
[00:19:58] Speaker B: I love it. Right.
[00:19:59] Speaker E: So double heal is going to move in. I mean, dark hole is going to call me that eventually. At some point, I'm really torn to try to heal dark hole or to try to kill the priest. And I think my efforts will be better served trying to kill the priest at this point in time. So I'm going to move in.
[00:20:18] Speaker A: Hey.
[00:20:18] Speaker E: And then I am going to attack the dragon priest. I'm gonna try 22 will. Flat footed ac hit.
[00:20:26] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: Because it's flat footed.
[00:20:31] Speaker E: Like, the fact, like, gang up is awesome. It gives me a plus two to almost every attack, which is insane if you think about it.
[00:20:39] Speaker A: Oh, I do. I f. I can't sleep at night because of it.
[00:20:43] Speaker E: Well, he takes 18 damage.
[00:20:45] Speaker A: Huh? Still alive.
[00:20:47] Speaker E: All right, so I will hit him one more time. I'll probably take him to one hit point and then it'll be in my turn. Let's see how it goes. Natural 20. So probably a crit.
[00:20:57] Speaker A: That is a crit.
[00:20:58] Speaker E: Okay, then he does have one hit point. Let's see how much I overkill him by momentum. You get a two circumstance bonus to all attack rolls until the end of your next turn. Cool. But it still does double damage.
[00:21:09] Speaker A: This is a double crit, actually, because you roll the 20 and then you're ten above.
[00:21:14] Speaker E: Great. Does that do anything different?
[00:21:16] Speaker A: No, just.
[00:21:17] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: Letting you know.
[00:21:19] Speaker B: Fun fact.
[00:21:21] Speaker E: So 21 is the normal damage. So 42 is how much damage that Twintalon does with the second attack.
[00:21:27] Speaker A: Do you want to know how much he has left?
[00:21:30] Speaker E: I'm gonna guess one.
[00:21:31] Speaker A: Nope. Three.
[00:21:32] Speaker E: Three. Okay.
[00:21:33] Speaker A: But could you describe your kill or overkill in this case?
[00:21:37] Speaker E: Absolutely. So twin talon like kind of runs up next to Brianna. Slashes once, you know, right to left across his chest. And then he brings the blade back across, just slashing his throat open. And the Chiricah falls to the ground, grasping at his throat. And he bleeds to death. And dies. To death. Because he's dead to death.
[00:21:59] Speaker A: Dead to death. Got it. It is now the top of the round knife sword. What would you like to do?
[00:22:09] Speaker C: Fall over and sleep for a month.
[00:22:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:22:12] Speaker E: Not here.
[00:22:12] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:22:13] Speaker A: Not. Not. Great. Would you like to move anywhere? Open doors, investigate.
[00:22:18] Speaker C: Well, since I sat down, I'll use an action to stand up.
[00:22:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:22:21] Speaker C: And then I'll move to the door that everybody else seems to be going through because I don't want to be by myself.
[00:22:26] Speaker E: All by yourself. Don't wanna be.
[00:22:30] Speaker C: And I'll drop the skeleton thing.
[00:22:33] Speaker A: Okay. Okay, Brianna, you are next.
[00:22:38] Speaker D: Cool. Brianna is going to go to twin Talon pack and start rummaging around in his pack. Which is the bag of holding, I assume.
[00:22:47] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:22:48] Speaker D: And see if we can find a potion or something to give night sword.
[00:22:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:22:52] Speaker E: And because you don't have to take it off my back, it's actually more economical, action wise for you to take it out than for me to take it out.
If you've ever had to take something out of your backpack, you know, you got to take it off and put it down and get to it.
[00:23:02] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:23:03] Speaker E: There's definitely healings in there.
[00:23:04] Speaker D: That's excellent. Looks like we have six healing potions.
[00:23:07] Speaker E: So we have six lesser, three minor. See, lesser and minor don't mean anything to me.
[00:23:13] Speaker C: What.
[00:23:13] Speaker E: What is the difference?
Oh, lesser is actually better. Okay, cool.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like minor, lesser, moderate, greater.
[00:23:20] Speaker A: So minor does one d eight hit points. Lesser than does two d eight plus five. You also have elixirs of life. Lesser, which is three d six plus six.
[00:23:32] Speaker D: What would you guys recommend? The healing potions.
[00:23:35] Speaker E: Lester, elixir of life technically has lower average, but higher maximum. I don't think it matters. Just. I would do a healing potion.
[00:23:43] Speaker D: Okay, so she's gonna grab one of those. I've already subtracted it. She will turn to knife sword, who is next to her, and force it down as gullet. I don't. I don't know.
[00:23:54] Speaker E: Yeah, sounds good. If I put it in glass and all. He chews it up.
[00:23:57] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:23:57] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:23:57] Speaker E: Those goblets.
[00:23:58] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:23:59] Speaker A: Knife sword. It tastes like peppermint.
[00:24:04] Speaker D: Do you want a peppermint?
[00:24:06] Speaker B: Okay, that's too hot for me. Yes, thank you.
[00:24:12] Speaker D: So it's two d eight.
[00:24:13] Speaker E: We said plus five. Yep.
[00:24:15] Speaker D: The lesson.
[00:24:16] Speaker E: She already took it off the sheet, so don't take it off again.
[00:24:18] Speaker A: Not touching it.
[00:24:19] Speaker D: Oh, 17 hit points.
[00:24:23] Speaker A: Got you. Knife sword.
[00:24:24] Speaker D: I'm at. If I were a pizza, I'd be half eaten.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: I'm a little more than. A little less than half eaten. Sorry, I thought it was worse than I was.
[00:24:31] Speaker A: Okay, so hang on, hang on.
[00:24:33] Speaker E: Is surrounding here too? We're still in water, aren't we?
[00:24:35] Speaker A: Yeah, we're still in initiative order.
[00:24:37] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:24:38] Speaker E: We're still in contact.
[00:24:39] Speaker B: It's my turn.
[00:24:40] Speaker A: Yes, it is your turn.
[00:24:41] Speaker B: So I move into the room with a.
[00:24:43] Speaker E: Well, Brenna took two actions. She pulled something out of my pack. She gave it to knife swords. She still has an action left.
[00:24:49] Speaker A: Yes, you do.
[00:24:50] Speaker D: So she's gonna grab one of those, being another healing potion. So the next time I'll try and guzzle it.
[00:24:56] Speaker E: Guzzle.
[00:24:56] Speaker A: Okay, Saraya, you moved in, you called Jasper. And your third action, I'm gonna also.
[00:25:05] Speaker B: Drink a healing potion.
[00:25:06] Speaker A: Okay. Quaff that potion.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: Coughing I only get back three hit points.
[00:25:11] Speaker A: Okay. Twin talon.
[00:25:13] Speaker E: All right, so twin Talon is going to take one action to take off his backpack. Second action to rummage around, and he's going to draw out a wand. And for his third action, he's going to, I guess, put his backpack back on. Yeah, I guess so. Click. Only have two hands.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: Top of round seven. Seven, knife sword.
[00:25:35] Speaker E: Someone has shoved gross peppermint into your mouth. But you feel better?
[00:25:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:39] Speaker E: Even though it tasted like.
[00:25:39] Speaker A: So I was peppermint ew. I was. I was trying to figure out, like. So for, like, normal people. Like, cough syrup would taste gross, but for goblins, what would be, like, gross tasting for a normal goblin? And I thought, peppermint.
[00:25:54] Speaker C: I'm gonna look around the room and see if there's, like, a weak point.
[00:25:59] Speaker A: Uh, the door.
[00:26:00] Speaker C: Like, a structural weak point, like support column, something like that.
[00:26:04] Speaker A: The spine on the roof and the ribs are supporting the walls.
[00:26:08] Speaker C: Hey, tuto, you got any more of those, uh, those, um, barrels of. Boom?
[00:26:15] Speaker E: I got. I have one more.
[00:26:16] Speaker C: What if we put it up against one of those ribs?
[00:26:19] Speaker E: Um, I mean, we'd probably take down this room, but I don't know that it would take down the whole structure.
[00:26:24] Speaker C: Like, one on the wall where, you know, the wall that would sort of share with the. Where the fire breathing idiot is. And, um, you know, down at the far end, maybe.
[00:26:33] Speaker E: I was thinking about putting it next to the door we were going through, opening it and letting the chimeras blow themselves up.
[00:26:39] Speaker C: Hey, whatever works. All right, I'm just gonna rest for the rest of my turn.
[00:26:43] Speaker A: Okay, Brianna.
[00:26:45] Speaker D: Brianna is going to drink the potion that's in her hand.
[00:26:49] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:26:50] Speaker D: Giving herself back. Eleven hit points.
[00:26:52] Speaker A: Better than a fireball to the face.
[00:26:53] Speaker D: How's Jasper doing?
[00:26:55] Speaker B: Uh, he's got, like, eight hit points out of 40.
[00:26:58] Speaker A: No, he has 13 out of 40.
[00:27:01] Speaker D: Then I will make a medicine check and battlefield medicine him.
[00:27:05] Speaker B: Thank you, my little baby.
[00:27:08] Speaker D: Listen, we lost her healer. Apparently it's me now, so, uh, here we go.
[00:27:13] Speaker B: Sean can attest this is also how I talk about my cat.
[00:27:15] Speaker A: It's not wrong.
[00:27:18] Speaker D: She attempts to bandage a wing.
[00:27:20] Speaker E: Yay. It works.
[00:27:21] Speaker D: I make it 16.
[00:27:24] Speaker E: So two d eight.
[00:27:26] Speaker A: It's two d eight.
[00:27:27] Speaker D: With 13 hit points back, you literally.
[00:27:30] Speaker A: Just doubled his hit points.
[00:27:32] Speaker D: Ta da.
[00:27:34] Speaker A: Okay, so battlefield medicine. Move. One more action. Oh, you drank. You drank as well.
[00:27:39] Speaker D: Yes. So that's my.
[00:27:41] Speaker B: So I'm looking through these open doors for my turn, and I can see all the way down to a room where it looks like the dragon's skull is. And I don't think we walked that far. I'm assuming they were just left open when everybody came to meet us.
[00:27:53] Speaker E: Could be.
[00:27:53] Speaker A: That is correct.
[00:27:55] Speaker B: So, um, well, there was that. I think we were considering that it might be a temple at the far end of this spine, I suppose. And she, like, gestures up to the ceiling. It seems like it's open. Now, we may encounter some other creatures on the way, but we can start circling back around.
[00:28:14] Speaker A: Everyone but twintalon, you begin to hear chanting.
[00:28:18] Speaker E: So the person with the best perception doesn't hear it. That's fun.
[00:28:22] Speaker A: You. You've missed it by one.
[00:28:24] Speaker E: That's fine. I'm busy.
[00:28:25] Speaker A: Yeah. You hear this lone guitar that has been playing the entire time starting to crescendo.
[00:28:31] Speaker B: Uh, can I. Dahawk lore, the chanting.
[00:28:34] Speaker A: Uh, it is your turn, so, yes, you may spend one action to Dahawk lore.
[00:28:38] Speaker B: Alrighty. 25 Dahoc lore.
[00:28:41] Speaker A: 25 Dahak lore. You hear the chanting, and it is in draconic. It sounds like.
[00:28:52] Speaker B: They do speak draconic.
[00:28:53] Speaker A: So the ritual that you're. You're hearing what sounds like a ritual to you, and you hear a very high pitched, scratchy voice praying to Dahak. The only words you can make out are sacrifice, empower and assist.
[00:29:10] Speaker B: Lovely. Does it sound like it's coming from perhaps that back room?
[00:29:14] Speaker A: Yes, it does.
[00:29:15] Speaker B: All right. Yes, it definitely sounds like they're doing some kind of ritual back that way. We should perhaps go try and interrupt that. I would not be opposed to throwing the second barrel of boom, as it were, into the middle of that.
[00:29:27] Speaker A: So, Saraya, it is still your turn. You have two actions left. Your first action was to make a recall knowledge.
[00:29:35] Speaker B: And you put your backpack back on, right?
[00:29:37] Speaker E: I did, yeah.
[00:29:38] Speaker B: Can I fish in the backpack and pull out the other barrel of gunpowder?
[00:29:41] Speaker A: You can. That is one action you have to.
[00:29:43] Speaker E: Move next to me. But if they're gonna. Well, I guess you didn't tell us what they. What they said, so I don't know.
[00:29:47] Speaker B: Well, no, I said they're. They seem to be performing a ritual to Tahaq. It seems like they. I don't know if they're trying to summon him or empower him, but I could certainly make out sacrifice, assist.
They're either trying to bring him here or grant him more power.
[00:30:01] Speaker E: Sacrifice? Do you think they're sacrificing something to him to assist themselves? And if we threw a bomb into it, would the sacrifice count? I mean, I just don't want to help them in any way.
[00:30:12] Speaker B: Well, I don't want to help them. True. But I'm fairly certain that if you don't get to complete the ritual, you know, just saying. Oh, you know, we bring this to Obli. If you die in the process. I don't. I don't know how that would work.
It could just cease it all from happening. You could? Yes. Finish off the ritual with a bang, as it were. Not to be funny. Can I make an arcana check for that?
[00:30:34] Speaker A: Yes. That will be your.
[00:30:35] Speaker B: That would be my third action.
[00:30:37] Speaker A: Yeah, if you want to take the barrel out, you would have to move and then take the barrel out.
[00:30:42] Speaker B: Okay, well then I will not take the barrel out. I will make the arcana check.
[00:30:45] Speaker A: What did you get?
[00:30:46] Speaker B: 24 arcana. What would happen if we threw a bomb into the middle of the ritual?
[00:30:51] Speaker A: So if you threw a bomb into the middle of the ritual, it would explode, dealing lots of damage. As you've seen, it would interrupt them. But if they're sacrificing something, it may kill that thing, which could be innocent and not involved.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: Okay, so it. It's unlikely that it would complete the ritual, but it may also deal harm to someone we don't want to harm.
[00:31:15] Speaker A: Correct. I mean, you. You. If the walls are any indication, you'll probably wipe everything out in there, including whatever's being sacrificed.
[00:31:24] Speaker B: Well, if the manticores are any indication, I don't know if that's true.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: Fair. You know, it could be another knife sort situation.
[00:31:30] Speaker B: That's true. All right, but. Okay, yes, it's likely that it would. It wouldn't complete the ritual to do it, but whatever they're sacrificing, if it's not a willing participant, it may also die. Which would not be.
[00:31:43] Speaker A: Well, you have one more action.
[00:31:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess I can start moving. My speed is, I think, 30ft because I am nimble. Yeah, 30ft. Right under that other rib in the other room. Northward.
[00:31:57] Speaker A: This is the first time you're actually seeing this room.
[00:32:00] Speaker B: Oh, and I can see things. I can see something in it.
[00:32:03] Speaker A: Yeah, you can also see out of it because there's a big hole in the wall.
[00:32:07] Speaker B: Yep. Oh, there's like a dragon. I think this is red dragon. That's nothing. That's not great.
[00:32:12] Speaker A: This room is. Well, this room was more elegant than the others of the fortress, covered with fine inscriptions, geometric patterns and exquisite calligraphy.
[00:32:23] Speaker D: What's that?
[00:32:24] Speaker B: I'm also. I'm gonna try and quietly wave everyone along beside me.
[00:32:28] Speaker A: Okay, twin Talon, it is your turn. All right.
[00:32:31] Speaker E: Twin Talon's gonna imagine what it is like to be drunk all the time. And he is going to role religion to pretend to be Temmet.
[00:32:40] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:32:41] Speaker B: Oh my God.
[00:32:42] Speaker E: Who is the cleric that he knows the best?
[00:32:44] Speaker A: What are you trying to discern?
[00:32:47] Speaker E: So I have a feat called trick magic item. For one action, I can roll the relevant magic skill to activate an item. I'm activating the wand of heal.
[00:32:57] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:32:58] Speaker E: And I am trying to cast heal. So what?
[00:33:00] Speaker B: It.
[00:33:01] Speaker E: What? The way it works from where I'm reading it is I take one action to activate it, and then it works as if I had whatever I needed to for the rest of the round.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: Correct. And this is under trick magic item.
[00:33:12] Speaker E: Although it says the GM determines the.
[00:33:15] Speaker A: DC based on the item level. You actually have the wand on your sheet?
[00:33:20] Speaker E: I do. I just took it out of the bag last turn. I don't think there's a level on there, unfortunately. So I don't know what level of heal it is. I don't know what level the wand is.
[00:33:28] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:33:29] Speaker E: I think it was something that Tem had bought way back when.
[00:33:31] Speaker A: I think it was a second level. Okay. I have a DC. I'm gonna say it is a DC 20.
[00:33:37] Speaker E: Okay. So twintalen about religion, and I got.
[00:33:41] Speaker A: A 24, so you may use the wand of healing.
[00:33:45] Speaker E: All right. So he's going to point it drunkenly, a la temid, a la Jack sparrow at Briena, and fire off some healing juice at her.
[00:33:54] Speaker A: So I believe you can cast the heal spell at level three, which means you can choose to use all three actions to make a 30 foot emanation.
[00:34:05] Speaker E: I can't, though. Cause I used one to activate the item, or I would. I would field all of us, but I have to pick somebody. Brianna's gonna be in front.
[00:34:12] Speaker A: All right.
[00:34:13] Speaker E: And I believe her pizza was half eaten, and then she got a less than stellar result out of her potions.
[00:34:18] Speaker D: So can I drink more potions?
[00:34:20] Speaker E: You can. I mean, any of us can. Yeah. If we're gonna get a big, big bump to somebody, I think it'll be you. If there's lots of reflex saves, I can probably just avoid it, which is why I'm not giving it to me.
[00:34:28] Speaker A: So there's. It's a level three. So you do three d. Eight plus 24.
[00:34:33] Speaker E: Okay. Not horrible. 34 hit points.
[00:34:37] Speaker D: Thank you.
[00:34:37] Speaker E: That was the two action variant, right?
[00:34:39] Speaker A: Correct. That's why it was the plus eight.
[00:34:41] Speaker E: Okay. Just make sure.
[00:34:42] Speaker A: Yep. No worries.
[00:34:43] Speaker E: All right. And then the wand will dim. Twintelle will kind of shrug, and he will tuck it into his bandolier or belt or whatever on his worn items. That's my three actions.
[00:34:55] Speaker A: From the room to the north, what can you describe what you see through the doors?
[00:35:01] Speaker B: So it looks like there is some kind of bubbling pool. There is the. I can see part of the dragon's skull, and it looks like it's got flames in its eyes.
[00:35:13] Speaker A: Yeah, let's stop. Let's stop at that description.
[00:35:16] Speaker E: So there's a hot tub and a skull with flaming eyes. Can I get a hot tub?
[00:35:21] Speaker A: The flaming eyes gaze upon you. Well, a flaming eye gazes upon you, and you see orange energy start to coalesce in it, and it shoots a beam of orange light at you. Does a 35 hit you?
[00:35:39] Speaker B: My ac is a 25. Okay, so I think it crits me.
[00:35:43] Speaker A: It does. You are going to take roll eight d six.
You are going to take 64 points of damage.
[00:35:54] Speaker B: It can hit me from 75ft away.
[00:35:56] Speaker A: Um, yes, it can.
[00:35:59] Speaker B: How much damage?
[00:36:00] Speaker A: I rolled a 32.
[00:36:02] Speaker B: I have one hit point.
[00:36:03] Speaker A: But that's not doubled. Oh, yeah. So now I double it.
[00:36:07] Speaker B: I have so 64. So I have one hit point.
[00:36:10] Speaker A: Boom. As this orange I beam hits, there.
[00:36:15] Speaker E: Was no reflex save. It was just an attack roll.
[00:36:17] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:36:17] Speaker E: Well, gross.
[00:36:19] Speaker B: Ouch.
[00:36:20] Speaker A: You hear that guitar gently weep like a sore. And you see a.
[00:36:28] Speaker B: What the hell?
[00:36:29] Speaker A: A gauntlet. Bald man playing guitar, walking slowly up to you.
[00:36:40] Speaker B: Don't put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby.
[00:36:42] Speaker A: Knife, sword. It is your turn.
[00:36:44] Speaker C: All right, well, the first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna reach over and shut this door.
[00:36:48] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:36:48] Speaker E: And that's the door to the antechamber. Like the. Where we just came from.
[00:36:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: You're not, like, shutting the door that leads to where I am?
[00:36:55] Speaker C: Not yet, no.
I don't think I saw what just happened. So then I'm gonna move to that door.
[00:37:01] Speaker A: All right.
[00:37:01] Speaker C: Because there's nothing in here.
[00:37:03] Speaker A: Nope.
[00:37:03] Speaker C: And I'm assuming the group is moving in this direction. So I'm gonna try to go here. I don't see any skulls or anything.
[00:37:10] Speaker A: Don't?
[00:37:11] Speaker C: No, I just see more ribs.
[00:37:12] Speaker B: Can you see past it at all? Like, if you, like, drag the screen down?
[00:37:16] Speaker C: Oh, I think there's a door between me and you still.
[00:37:18] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a door open. That's how I got there.
[00:37:20] Speaker C: Ah, there we go. Yeah. Okay, now I can see it. And that was, unfortunately, two actions. So for my third action, I'm gonna sidestep also.
[00:37:28] Speaker B: Hang on. It hit me with fire, you said, right?
[00:37:29] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:37:30] Speaker B: I have six hit points. Sorry. Anyway, it just occurred to me.
[00:37:34] Speaker C: Is she at zero or is she.
[00:37:35] Speaker A: She's at six hit points.
[00:37:37] Speaker C: Okay, I can't do anything about that then. No, I can't use mage hand to just pull her back through the door, can I?
[00:37:42] Speaker A: No, she is too heavy.
[00:37:44] Speaker C: Pretty sure I can't pull her back through the door. I'll try. Why not? I'll try to grab her and pull her through the door.
[00:37:49] Speaker A: Okay. Do you do anything, Saraya?
[00:37:51] Speaker B: Uh, no. I alarmed at first that someone who's probably as tall as her waist is trying to, like, drag her back, but I don't think she's gonna fight.
[00:37:59] Speaker A: It pulls you back 5ft.
[00:38:01] Speaker C: I think that's all I can do. That's three actions, right? Close the door up there. Pull her through. Yep. All right.
[00:38:07] Speaker A: All right, this one's turn. Attempts to squeeze.
All right, that's it for them.
[00:38:15] Speaker D: Brianna is gonna see what the fuss is about. Over this way. Okay, does she recognize this bald person?
[00:38:24] Speaker A: Maybe. Let me do a perception roll here, just because they do look a little different.
Yeah, you do. They look vaguely familiar again, completely bald, no beard, very, very gaunt. Almost as if the skin is pulled extremely tight. Like, oh, no, almost zero body fat.
[00:38:46] Speaker D: Is it like something is wearing somebody else's skin, or is it that they're just very gaunt, very gone. Okay, good.
[00:38:53] Speaker A: Like, they don't. They're not eating as much as they. Anyone should.
[00:38:57] Speaker E: Would you say that they are emaciated, which means that they once were a slave and now that they're free. Callbacks. Kobach's previous episodes. What?
[00:39:10] Speaker D: I wish I had, like, detect evil or something of the sort. Yeah, I guess. She'll call out. You are you want to sacrifice?
I don't know. Um.
[00:39:22] Speaker E: No.
[00:39:22] Speaker D: You need help?
[00:39:23] Speaker A: Well, I don't think so. You might.
[00:39:28] Speaker D: Do I recognize him now?
[00:39:30] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:39:31] Speaker D: Silver, is that you?
[00:39:34] Speaker A: In a past laugh. What?
[00:39:36] Speaker D: What happened?
[00:39:38] Speaker A: Uh, that is all you can do in one action. She moved, she chatted, and she has one more action if she'd like to speak some more or do something else.
[00:39:48] Speaker D: Okay, what happened is my next action.
[00:39:50] Speaker A: Uh, I've. I've learned a lot more since I've been gone. And I've been educated.
[00:39:58] Speaker D: Schwing.
Okay, I guess that's my turn.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: Okay, the chanting is getting louder and coming to a crescendo.
[00:40:10] Speaker B: I really don't think we should let that continue.
[00:40:13] Speaker A: Saraya, it is your turn.
[00:40:16] Speaker B: I really don't think we should let that continue. Um, but I'm gonna have to take two of my actions to make and drink an elixir, because I'm.
[00:40:24] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:25] Speaker B: It's not gonna do a whole lot for me, but it might make me not dead to dead. So I'm gonna make elixir. Drink elixir. Yield 28 hit points.
[00:40:33] Speaker A: Now, that's way better than where you were.
[00:40:37] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, it's double digits, at least. And I actually can't see whatever this was. That may or may not be silver from where I am. Crap. Actually, you know what? Never mind. I can see the other chimera from where I am. Sneaking into the room.
[00:40:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:51] Speaker B: I'm gonna throw a frost file at it.
[00:40:55] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: That's a 33 to hit it.
[00:40:57] Speaker A: That will hit.
[00:40:59] Speaker B: So it is slowed by 10ft. It takes eleven cold damage and two more splash.
[00:41:04] Speaker A: Oh, how big of a splash is it? Is it just the. Is it a ten foot.
[00:41:09] Speaker B: No, it's standard, but it's wherever it hit. What is he like here?
[00:41:13] Speaker A: No, he's 10ft away. So. Okay.
[00:41:16] Speaker B: You know it's just a regular splash. My turn.
[00:41:19] Speaker A: All right, I'm gonna try to, you.
[00:41:21] Speaker B: Know, if I can, I'll just be like there's still a chimera.
[00:41:25] Speaker A: Twin Talon.
[00:41:27] Speaker E: Twin Talon is going to sigh and then he's going to move up because he hears that voice and he thinks do I want to be like silver and run away and leave my party to die? Or do I want to go in there and maybe have a chance of saving everybody? At least somebody. He's going to move up. I see nothing. 25. 2nd action, he's gonna close the door.
Third action, he is going to take his backpack off again.
[00:41:53] Speaker A: Okay. It's actually very good that you close the door. Cause as the door is closed you hear the sound of that I beam just smacking against it.
Top of round nine. Round nine. Geez guys, come on.
[00:42:11] Speaker B: I think it's the longest combat we've ever had.
[00:42:13] Speaker E: So I have a question for you.
[00:42:15] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:42:15] Speaker E: The exploding barrel.
[00:42:17] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:42:18] Speaker E: I'm assuming it's a reflex save. If someone was in the radius of it.
[00:42:22] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:42:22] Speaker E: I'm wondering what the DC would be.
[00:42:24] Speaker C: I have a question.
Is there any way we can time two person's actions to happen at the same time?
[00:42:31] Speaker E: The first person would have to delay. I'm sorry. The first person would have to either delay and then you take both your actions basically the same time, or you would have to ready an action, which is two actions to ready one action. And then you could have something trigger. So when so and so does something, I do. Whatever.
[00:42:48] Speaker C: Okay. I have an idea.
[00:42:50] Speaker E: I do too. I don't like either of the ideas. I know what mine is and I don't know what yours is, but I still don't like it. But what are you thinking Robert?
[00:42:57] Speaker C: Well, I was thinking you throw the barrel in and I cast gravity well on the barrel.
[00:43:02] Speaker E: Them all in.
[00:43:03] Speaker C: Yeah. And then it go boom.
[00:43:04] Speaker E: So I had a different horrible thought.
[00:43:06] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:43:07] Speaker E: I don't throw the barrel in, I run the barrel in.
[00:43:10] Speaker C: That's a horrible thought. Why?
[00:43:11] Speaker E: Because reflex saves. That's why. Depending on what the reflex save is, twin Talon could ride the shockwave basically, away from it with no damage to himself. It would be super cinematic. I don't know if it would work.
[00:43:24] Speaker B: I also. I kind of like the gravity well idea, just because then they would act as, like, a buffer. Like, you know, like, somebody jumps on the grenade, it's not so bad. So if we yank everybody in the room onto the grenade.
[00:43:35] Speaker E: Well, I think a combo. Like, I run it in, he gravity wells everyone toward me.
[00:43:40] Speaker B: And then we set it off.
[00:43:42] Speaker E: Yeah, and then we set it off. I'm not a super fan of the idea, but it would be cool if it. It's one of those things that, like, it's either gonna be, like, really epically cool or really horrible.
[00:43:51] Speaker B: Yeah, we're gonna fail miserably.
[00:43:54] Speaker C: So you're gonna have to reflex save my gravity well and the barrel.
[00:43:58] Speaker E: No, I don't have to reflex save your gravity well because I don't care if I'm next to it. The whole point is I'll be holding it.
[00:44:03] Speaker C: No, that's not what I worried about. I'm worried about them impacting on you, all the creatures flying at you.
[00:44:08] Speaker E: It doesn't matter. As long as they don't fall. Them running into me doesn't do any damage.
[00:44:12] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:44:12] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:44:12] Speaker E: That's one of the things we talked about with. With the gravity well in the. The pit, them falling down off the ledges is what did damage. But when they just, like, bumped into each other, didn't do anything.
[00:44:20] Speaker A: So I'm going to tell you, Matt, that DC is a 35.
[00:44:27] Speaker E: Okay. I'd have to roll better than average. I have an 18, which means I'd have to roll. 817 are up, and I have two chances. The hero point, I mean, sounds like.
[00:44:37] Speaker B: It might be our best shot.
[00:44:39] Speaker E: I have 62 hit points.
[00:44:40] Speaker A: Okay, well, it is not your turn right now. It is my turn to do some things.
[00:44:46] Speaker E: I mean, that being said, rolling the barrel in would have the same effect. So maybe I don't have to blow up, but depending on where we want to put it, I don't know.
[00:44:53] Speaker A: Okay, so I have cast that, then I cast that. Okay, so I did that, and then it is this.
Okay. Knife, sword. It is your turn. What would you like to do?
[00:45:10] Speaker C: I want to hold my action to cast on the barrel. If he throws a barrel in there, I'm gonna cast gravity well on it.
[00:45:17] Speaker A: Gotcha. That's gonna go do that thing. Okay. That's gonna do that thing. All right, Brianna, it is your turn.
[00:45:25] Speaker D: Brianna is going to step.
[00:45:27] Speaker A: Yeah, you can step up and open the door and then step back if you'd like.
[00:45:31] Speaker D: Sure.
[00:45:32] Speaker A: Okay, that's one, two, and then step back for three. Okay, it is now one of my creatures turns. Saraya, it is your turn.
[00:45:45] Speaker B: I am delaying until knife sword casts gravity well.
[00:45:49] Speaker A: Okay, so when knife sword casts gravity well, you will do what?
[00:45:53] Speaker B: I will throw a lesser alchemist fire.
[00:45:57] Speaker A: Got it.
Twin talon, it is your turn.
[00:46:01] Speaker E: Okay, so for twin talons first action, he is going to pull the gunpowder barrel out of the bag of holding, which he took off of his back. Last turn. Okay, for his second action. Oh, feet, don't fail me now. Twin talent is going to move.
[00:46:19] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:46:20] Speaker E: 510 15 2025.
[00:46:23] Speaker A: Stop. You bump into something.
[00:46:25] Speaker D: Oh, dear.
[00:46:26] Speaker A: So you. You have to stop there, but you can continue your turn.
[00:46:30] Speaker E: Okay. And then for my third action, the.
[00:46:34] Speaker A: Math people can't see, obviously, because this is an audio medium, but the. The measurement and math of everything that is happening right now is ridiculous.
[00:46:45] Speaker B: It is a little crave, but it works out just fine.
[00:46:50] Speaker A: Uh, this is insane. This is completely insane.
[00:46:56] Speaker B: This is what happens when you give players a giant barrel of gunpowder that does eight d twelve damage.
[00:47:02] Speaker E: What kind of damage is it, by the way? Fire. Right?
[00:47:05] Speaker A: Fire. Yeah.
[00:47:06] Speaker E: Okay. I'm really not worried about killing the red dragon then. So twin Talon is going to roll the barrel against the wall on the northern end of the chamber. That's my goal.
[00:47:17] Speaker A: That's your goal.
[00:47:18] Speaker E: And then he's going to trust in his friends to do the thing that they were doing.
[00:47:22] Speaker A: All right, so as you roll the barrel, that triggers knife, sword.
[00:47:27] Speaker C: Yes. Gravity well.
[00:47:28] Speaker A: At that point, go ahead and cast gravity well. And I'm assuming you're casting it on the barrel?
[00:47:33] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:47:34] Speaker A: Okay, let me see how my reflex saves are. And then you're going to put a. How much? 30 foot. Oh, boy.
I have lots of saves to make.
[00:47:45] Speaker E: So what's. Why is the red dragon just hanging out there, by the way? Is it just standing there waiting?
[00:47:50] Speaker A: No, it's actually chained to the TA. To the ground.
[00:47:55] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:47:56] Speaker B: I'm more confident the dragon might be the sacrifice.
[00:47:58] Speaker E: I'm more confident now that it's a sacrifice. I mean, I was thinking, like, Dahawk sacrifice. What would they sacrifice to him? I guess people could be, but dragons would be very powerful, I would think.
[00:48:06] Speaker A: Probably the save is 26 for all of my creatures.
So the first one regular fails.
[00:48:17] Speaker B: I think I actually have to save for the gravity well, too.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: You do? Those two regular fail.
[00:48:25] Speaker C: But she's like, in a corner, though. She can't go anywhere, can she?
[00:48:28] Speaker A: She would get pulled into the wall. So. Yeah, you know what? You don't even have to make the save, okay? Because even if you fail, you would be pulled towards the center, and the center would try and pull you through a wall, which won't work. Critical fail.
[00:48:44] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:48:45] Speaker A: Regular pass. Regular pass. Critical fail, but is chained down. Okay, go ahead. And, uh, Christine, don't. You don't have to roll. So you move 5ft.
You move 5ft. I know this spells so well. Now, you move 15ft to here. And you move 30ft. Five.
All right, Christine, by him casting gravity, well, that triggers your reaction.
[00:49:19] Speaker B: I think technically I have to take, like, a five or ten foot step. I have to take a movement.
[00:49:25] Speaker A: You would move to here. You will have to make a reflex save against the explosion.
[00:49:31] Speaker B: All right, can I, since I know it's coming, can I get, like, a bonus?
[00:49:36] Speaker A: I'll give you a plus one.
[00:49:37] Speaker B: All righty. I'll make an attack roll with my alchemist fire.
[00:49:42] Speaker A: Yep, you just need to make a DC five.
[00:49:45] Speaker E: Wait, could she have moved more than that?
[00:49:47] Speaker B: I have a plus 15, like, there.
[00:49:50] Speaker A: She can move there? Yes. Okay, so you move next to twin talon. What did you roll?
[00:49:56] Speaker B: I got a natural one.
[00:49:58] Speaker A: So would you like to hero point this?
[00:50:00] Speaker B: Yes, I would.
[00:50:02] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:50:03] Speaker B: Fuck, you're a.
[00:50:04] Speaker A: Point that.
Roll again. Literally roll anything but a one.
[00:50:10] Speaker B: Don't say anything. I don't trust you. 23. Okay.
[00:50:14] Speaker A: Okay, so now you hit it. Who wants to roll the damage?
[00:50:19] Speaker B: I was just gonna say, do you wanna roll four? Do twelve and I'll. Sure.
And we'll just add it together.
[00:50:24] Speaker E: So 30 on my dice and 20 on mine. Wow, we really sucked it up.
[00:50:29] Speaker A: Okay, so that's 50 points of fire damage.
Please hold while I fix everything.
Okay, so after doing some math, you guys have blown out another entire wall. Everyone's ears are ringing.
You see a cloud of fire and ash and everything just erupts. Red clay splattering everywhere. The gaunt, emaciated, human looking person falls down, bleeding out. Everyone else is still alive somehow.
Oh, my goodness.
So here's the bad thing about taking down the walls.
[00:51:29] Speaker E: High beams.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, that. That skull can see everyone now.
[00:51:36] Speaker E: So can't see the people behind us.
[00:51:38] Speaker A: No, no, no, you're right. It can't see behind you guys. But it can see both Saraya and twin Talon.
[00:51:48] Speaker B: Can it see the Chimera that's in front of us?
[00:51:50] Speaker A: Oh, it can.
It can see everything that it needs to see. Twin Talon, does a 38 hit you?
[00:52:00] Speaker E: Yeah, that's a critical hit.
[00:52:02] Speaker A: Saraya does an 8th 18 hit you?
[00:52:05] Speaker B: No.
[00:52:06] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:52:07] Speaker D: Can I liberate anyone?
[00:52:09] Speaker A: What's the range? Uh, no, you cannot. Because the wall there, the few walls that still stand, stand between us. Yes.
[00:52:17] Speaker E: It's okay. We've made this bed, and now I'm gonna die in it.
[00:52:21] Speaker B: Time to die in it.
[00:52:23] Speaker C: The question now is, is the skull firing in anger or fear?
[00:52:27] Speaker E: If it's smart, it's fear.
[00:52:29] Speaker A: Yes.
Matt, I rolled 33 damage. Okay, but since it crit, that's 66 damage. Okay, you fall down unconscious because you have 62 points of health.
[00:52:49] Speaker E: What type of damage was it?
[00:52:51] Speaker A: Fire. It was fire.
[00:52:53] Speaker E: So it only does 61 damage, which means I have one hit point.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: Oh, you have one hit point left. So you are still alive.
Oh.
[00:53:04] Speaker B: Clinging on.
[00:53:07] Speaker A: Dead and dying. It is now a creature's turn. Oh, hang on. These spells wear off.
Let me. Let me just turn off some of these spells real quick.
[00:53:20] Speaker B: How many invisible things are visible now?
[00:53:22] Speaker E: I kind of wish they were still invisible.
[00:53:25] Speaker A: The caster that cast them is now dead and dying.
But let's say this. There's a Chimera directly behind you, twin Talon.
And it has waited the four rounds to have its breath weapon recharge.
[00:53:43] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:53:44] Speaker A: And it is going to look at you and make an attack, but not with its breath weapon. Why with all three of its heads.
[00:53:55] Speaker E: Why would it do that? It's got its breath weapon back. Why wouldn't it just blow it at me?
[00:53:58] Speaker A: Cause the other chimera has its breath weapon back too. So it's gonna try and bite you. Cause you've been causing some problems with it. And it has this really cool ability for two actions called three headed strike.
[00:54:12] Speaker E: Yeah, you're telling me.
[00:54:13] Speaker A: It makes a strike with a dragon's jaws, a lion's jaws, and a goat's horn.
Each taking a minus two penalty. And targeting different creatures.
[00:54:24] Speaker E: And targeting different creatures.
[00:54:27] Speaker A: Yeah, I see that. Now, these. These three strikes count as only one attack.
Well, then I guess it is gonna do a breath weapon and it's gonna hit both twin Talon and Saraya.
[00:54:42] Speaker B: I am aware. Let's see if I die.
[00:54:46] Speaker A: Yeah. So here's what you guys are gonna need to do, is you're gonna need to roll a basic reflex save next week.
[00:54:55] Speaker E: No, we're alive for one more week.
We could be dead next week. What gives us time to make a new character? Right?
[00:55:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Right.
[00:55:03] Speaker E: I'm a dragon stuck to an altar. Is that a thing I can do?
