[00:00:39] Speaker A: Welcome to the 70th episode of the Cracked Die podcast. We're still here.
[00:00:46] Speaker B: We geriatric now.
[00:00:47] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:00:49] Speaker A: Ooh, we can start getting AARp discounts.
[00:00:52] Speaker B: Could we have gotten that like, 20 episodes ago?
[00:00:53] Speaker D: We could have done that at 55, I think.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:00:56] Speaker E: Really?
[00:00:56] Speaker B: 1520 episodes?
[00:00:57] Speaker D: Yeah, 55.
[00:00:58] Speaker A: Well, I'm in my mid thirties, and I'm already getting AARP mailers, so I don't know what that says.
[00:01:05] Speaker B: I just want to let you know. Also, on his last birthday, he immediately called himself 45, not 35. So that's a jump, right?
[00:01:15] Speaker A: Look, last birthday was a quarantine. Birthday time has no meaning anymore.
[00:01:20] Speaker E: Point, point.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: Let's jump right into this mess that you're in. When we last left you guys, you had dealt with a pillar and came to a new area, and you found a pulsing red light and a large worm, dragon like creature just chilling in front, looking at you.
[00:01:46] Speaker D: It's huge.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: It is huge.
[00:01:49] Speaker C: Everything is huge.
[00:01:51] Speaker D: Oh, I think he means because he's small.
[00:01:54] Speaker E: Point, point.
[00:01:55] Speaker A: So just to remind you, a crumbling stone temple juts out from where the forest has grown around it. Sinister towers partially collapsed. But once carved into the shapes of grimacing dragons, provide support for the cracked walls. A flickering red light pulses within the hollow of the central ruined tower. And in front, you see this coiled dragon worm thing, huge. Peek its head up and look at.
[00:02:28] Speaker F: You and say, lunch has been delivered.
[00:02:34] Speaker C: Lunch.
[00:02:35] Speaker D: You can call me Doordash. Cause I'm bringing the pain.
No, that's not.
[00:02:42] Speaker C: I can really go for some lunch.
[00:02:44] Speaker D: Delivering the pain. I don't know. There's something there.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: I mean, I think that was pretty great.
[00:02:49] Speaker E: Yeah, I thought it was pretty good, too. There's no need to workshop that. Blow out the tongue. Anyway, so I'm very sad that pond watcher isn't here to finally be like, aha. An actual dragon other than these little bite sized versions we keep running into.
[00:03:07] Speaker D: So you say that, but when we get past this dragon, we're gonna find, like, his mother's halberd and its hoard point. Oh, no, I hope that's not true. But I feel like Shawn would do that to us.
[00:03:18] Speaker E: It's true. Sean does enjoy playing with our emotions.
[00:03:21] Speaker D: He's like, you have feelings. Look at them.
Yeah, gross. All right.
[00:03:28] Speaker A: Anyway, I wish I was that mean.
[00:03:31] Speaker E: No, but you're good at feelings.
[00:03:34] Speaker B: He wishes he was that mean. Like, he isn't.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: Hang on, I gotta do a quick rewrite. Give me a second.
[00:03:39] Speaker E: No.
[00:03:40] Speaker A: Okay, great. We're done. So this obviously intelligent creature, because it just spoke to you in common.
[00:03:49] Speaker D: Lunch has been delivered.
It's supposed to common.
[00:03:53] Speaker C: They just say that. I feel like there's been a change in the matrix.
[00:03:58] Speaker A: Yes, it's spoken common to you.
[00:03:59] Speaker D: Are we immediately an initiative, or is it like.
[00:04:01] Speaker E: Right.
[00:04:02] Speaker B: Yeah, right.
[00:04:03] Speaker A: No, no, it's just chilling. They're looking at you like, I'm gonna.
[00:04:08] Speaker F: Eat the little one first, followed by the bald one.
[00:04:12] Speaker C: Aren't they the same guy?
[00:04:16] Speaker D: You're the little one. I'm the bald one.
[00:04:18] Speaker C: No, no, you're the small one. I'm pretty sure.
[00:04:22] Speaker B: You'Re about half the size that he is. I don't see how he's the small one, obviously.
[00:04:28] Speaker C: Don't know goth goblin physics.
[00:04:30] Speaker B: Clearly I do not. Does that mean that Jasper then is the largest?
[00:04:35] Speaker E: Perhaps he just feels large at heart.
[00:04:38] Speaker C: No, the dragon's the largest one.
[00:04:41] Speaker B: Jeez.
[00:04:44] Speaker D: All right, I'm ready to be eaten now.
[00:04:47] Speaker E: I wish I could animate this.
[00:04:50] Speaker A: The creature slithers forward and bites off twin Talon's head.
[00:04:56] Speaker E: No.
[00:04:58] Speaker D: Solaroos.
[00:05:00] Speaker B: Can I make an arcana check? Because we encountered, like, the weird spectral dahawk when we first came through the gate.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Yes, you may make an arcana check. Yeah.
[00:05:11] Speaker D: Dragons are arcana, right?
[00:05:12] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:05:13] Speaker B: 33.
[00:05:14] Speaker D: And you don't need to be trained, right?
[00:05:16] Speaker A: You do not. But a 33 is more than enough to know what this is.
[00:05:20] Speaker D: All right.
[00:05:21] Speaker A: This is called a beta.
[00:05:24] Speaker D: What?
[00:05:25] Speaker A: A b I d a a b da.
[00:05:28] Speaker D: Oh, a bidet.
[00:05:31] Speaker E: No, no.
[00:05:32] Speaker D: Is that something else?
[00:05:33] Speaker B: No, that's a bad sit on the opening.
[00:05:38] Speaker D: But it's gonna spray hot liquid in my cracks and make them all clean.
[00:05:43] Speaker C: Knife. Sword. Immediately.
[00:05:44] Speaker A: Moons.
[00:05:44] Speaker C: The dragon.
[00:05:51] Speaker A: Bettas are black scaled dragons with long serpentine bodies and bat like wings. Their legs and claws are smaller than those of most dragons, but their powerful undulating coils, like those of a boa constrictor, are potent weapons capable of squeezing the life from several unfortunate victims at a time. Ibita uses impressive intellect and powerful magic, pose as a human and infiltrate settlements. Over the course of weeks, months, it established itself as a key member of the village and only after has it become invaluable to the community does it reveal the terrible price of assistance. Regular offerings of flesh and gold. From this point on, the Betta dwells almost exclusively within its smoggy layer, growing fat off the blood sacrifice of its offerings to hide its presence from the outside world, a betta conceals its enslaved settlements and large scale illusions, leaving only a stand of once thriving village may have been and ordering the town folk to destroy any roads in or out of the town. So they're lovely creatures.
[00:06:59] Speaker C: You're saying Roger's a dragon?
[00:07:05] Speaker E: What is that?
[00:07:07] Speaker A: The name of the Betta.
[00:07:10] Speaker C: He was the muck slinger. I don't understand.
[00:07:13] Speaker E: Come here.
[00:07:16] Speaker A: Since you rolled so well, Christine, you may ask me one question about it.
[00:07:22] Speaker B: Damn.
[00:07:22] Speaker E: What was that?
[00:07:23] Speaker B: DC. Um.
What's a good question? You think? Guys, they don't. It doesn't seem like negotiating is a great strategy here.
[00:07:31] Speaker D: Well, that's certainly not my forte.
[00:07:33] Speaker C: Can we get salads for lunch?
[00:07:35] Speaker E: I mean.
[00:07:36] Speaker D: No. Stop asking that. That's not the question. We have one question.
[00:07:41] Speaker B: I gestured all the grass around. Have at it.
[00:07:45] Speaker D: It's gonna be like bedazzled. Where we waste our first wish on a big Mac. And then we're like, no, we wish. Laughter like, nah, nah, you wish for a big Mac in the beginning, remember? Maybe weaknesses or resistances, something like that. Special attacks. I don't know, whatever. Help us take it down.
[00:07:59] Speaker C: Favorite floor.
[00:08:02] Speaker B: We can always talk to it after learning about it. Don't forget.
[00:08:05] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:08:06] Speaker D: Yeah. And this is what soraya knows. We don't actually know anything.
[00:08:09] Speaker E: Fair.
[00:08:09] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true.
Yeah. Does it have any weaknesses or resistances?
[00:08:15] Speaker A: It is immune to paralysis and sleep. And it is resistant to acid for ten points and poison for ten points.
[00:08:25] Speaker B: Cool. Well, now I know what bonds are to you.
[00:08:28] Speaker A: So it's just sitting there looking at you as Zareya's encyclopedic knowledge just scrolls.
[00:08:34] Speaker B: Through Rolodex stops on a beta. Um.
[00:08:39] Speaker D: So I just went down and look at Brianna like you're our charismatic.
[00:08:44] Speaker E: What?
[00:08:45] Speaker D: Leader, right?
[00:08:48] Speaker E: Oh, right. Cause you're tactical, I'm charismatic, but I'm the type.
[00:08:53] Speaker D: If you want to kill the dragon, I'll tell you what we're gonna do. But I don't know how to converse. I can try to intimidate it. I'm bad at that.
[00:09:01] Speaker B: Do I have an idea of how good its hearing is?
[00:09:04] Speaker E: I mean, we just had a whole conversation about size in front of it and it hasn't done anything.
[00:09:10] Speaker B: Well, mostly I wanted to know if I can relay information to you without it here.
Like, I don't think asking for a huddle.
[00:09:17] Speaker E: Quick huddle up.
[00:09:19] Speaker A: No, it would definitely be able to hear you.
[00:09:23] Speaker E: Hey bida, we're gonna have a quick sidebar under this table. Don't follow us. Yeah.
[00:09:29] Speaker B: Does anybody know? Cone of silence but nothing.
[00:09:34] Speaker D: Diplomacy.
[00:09:36] Speaker E: Brianna is going to kind of prepare herself. Take a deep breath. Be like, so if we were actually lunch friends, you would have already attempted to eat us. So what is it you do here?
[00:09:51] Speaker F: I am just waiting for my next sacrifice. And it appears that you have been chosen. Aren't you lucky?
[00:10:03] Speaker E: Quite.
[00:10:04] Speaker A: Quite.
[00:10:04] Speaker E: So is this all you do, then? You just sit here and wait for sacrifices? A great beast like yourself doesn't.
I don't know, do more than that. What a. What a banal existence, wouldn't you say?
[00:10:19] Speaker F: Why would it be banal? I have creatures waiting on me hand and foot.
[00:10:25] Speaker E: Hmm. What kind of preachers would come and wait upon you hand and foot, then?
[00:10:31] Speaker F: Those who are smart enough to worship us.
Dragons.
[00:10:38] Speaker E: Ah. So would you say, perhaps, that you are friends with this dahak?
[00:10:45] Speaker F: I am what you refer to as physical manifestations.
[00:10:51] Speaker B: Can I roll Dahak lore and double check that?
[00:10:54] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:10:54] Speaker B: 26.
[00:10:56] Speaker E: Nice.
[00:10:58] Speaker A: You know that if a dragon is evil, they probably worship Dahawk, and therefore any evil, any evil dragon would consider themselves a psion. Yes, yes. Exactly.
[00:11:14] Speaker B: How bad of an idea is it to try and piss this thing off, guys?
[00:11:18] Speaker D: I mean, that's the default, I believe.
[00:11:21] Speaker B: Okay, that knowledge story is just gonna.
Oh, you poor, deluded thing.
[00:11:28] Speaker A: Let's go around the table before anything happens. So, Brianna and Saraya are up chatting with this thing.
[00:11:37] Speaker B: Mm hmm. I just. I did just call it deluded.
[00:11:40] Speaker A: I know. Before that twin talon, it looked like you were investigating around.
[00:11:45] Speaker D: Yeah, I was just. There's a crack in the wall here. I was just poking my head through, seeing, making sure nothing was like sneaking up behind us.
[00:11:51] Speaker A: Give me a perception check from when you were moving around.
[00:11:55] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:11:56] Speaker A: And knife, sword. What are you doing? While this is all this talking has.
[00:12:00] Speaker C: Happened, I'm putting my pants back on and contemplating my next move.
[00:12:06] Speaker D: Okay, my perception check was 29.
[00:12:09] Speaker A: So as you sneak through this wall. Not even sneak as you walk through this hole in the wall in front of you, and I'm going to put little wiggly marks on the map.
[00:12:19] Speaker D: Ooh, wigglies.
[00:12:21] Speaker A: You see what looks like maybe furry legs in one of those marks? Maybe some frog legs in another mark.
[00:12:32] Speaker D: As if they were dismembered.
[00:12:35] Speaker A: As if something bit the top half of them off.
[00:12:38] Speaker D: That's what I mean. It's not like there's a creature hiding there with both frog legs and furry legs. You're saying there's just legs littered about on this side?
[00:12:45] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay, they looked armored. And with a 29 that you rolled, they kind of look like the. The armor that you've noticed most of the cinder claws wearing.
[00:12:56] Speaker D: Okay, now I have a question. There's. Looks like there's two steps, and then there's a wall. Is that correct?
[00:13:01] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:13:02] Speaker D: Okay, just making sure there wasn't some weird. Because I know at the pit there was some weird sight issues.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: Weird line of sight stuff. Let me double check.
[00:13:11] Speaker D: Okay, so I can see kind of more back into the complex than I thought.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: All right, I. Yeah, yeah, there is stairs.
[00:13:16] Speaker D: Okay, that's a good. And I'm guessing where Christine's pointer is currently. Is it like a tower of some kind?
[00:13:20] Speaker A: Yeah, that's, um, one of the. It actually looks like a. Not a dragon pillar that you've been seeing, but like a pillar that is carved in the shape of a dragon that has crumbled. Okay, you think that this used to be a very ornate temple of some kind?
[00:13:38] Speaker D: Gotcha.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: Judging from the. The filigrees and whatnot. But it's fallen into much ruin.
[00:13:45] Speaker D: Okay, so I see the dragon pillar. That's cool.
[00:13:48] Speaker A: Soraya, you just insulted this thing and it kind of says.
[00:13:53] Speaker F: Enough. I will not have my lunch talk.
[00:13:56] Speaker A: Back to me and we will start combat. Way to go, Saraya.
[00:14:02] Speaker D: Look, good job.
[00:14:03] Speaker B: We were gonna end up here anyway. We all knew it.
[00:14:07] Speaker D: I love this version of Pathfinder. I rolled a 13 and my initiative is a 31.
[00:14:13] Speaker B: Jesus Christ.
Well, I'm not gonna get anywhere near that. Good. So let's see what I do.
[00:14:19] Speaker A: Let's go through initiatives. Christine, what did you get?
[00:14:25] Speaker B: 26.
[00:14:26] Speaker A: All right. Hyah.
[00:14:27] Speaker E: 27.
[00:14:29] Speaker D: Matt, it's actually supposed to be a 33.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: Oh, well, aren't you. Aren't you fancy?
[00:14:34] Speaker D: I have improved initiative, so I get a plus two to my initiative bonuses.
[00:14:39] Speaker A: Rob, what is your initiative?
[00:14:41] Speaker C: Greater than one but less than 100. And it's closer to one of those two.
[00:14:46] Speaker B: A three. So.
[00:14:50] Speaker C: 14.
[00:14:52] Speaker A: All right, so the other thing that triggers initiative being rolled is the fact that as twin Talon steps through the dragon pillar, can see him. And it shoots its load. Yep.
[00:15:09] Speaker B: Right in your face.
[00:15:10] Speaker E: 69 was last episode, guys.
[00:15:13] Speaker D: Dang it. So much residual buildup.
[00:15:18] Speaker B: Not even November.
[00:15:19] Speaker C: Dudes, I don't appreciate you guys ejaculating all these words all over the place.
[00:15:26] Speaker A: Twin Talon. Does a 35 hit you?
[00:15:29] Speaker D: I'm sorry, a 35?
[00:15:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:33] Speaker D: Yes, that does hit my ac, but it does not Crit.
[00:15:36] Speaker A: Okay, I will make a basic reflex save.
[00:15:41] Speaker D: Oh, okay. If I had to make a save, that's my preference.
Also, we have. We have hero points, right? Before we get into this.
[00:15:48] Speaker A: Yes, everyone has a single hero point.
[00:15:51] Speaker E: Okay, where are you on the map?
[00:15:53] Speaker D: I've shifted through. See where knife sword is. There's a little crack in the wall.
[00:15:56] Speaker E: I see. So I don't have the ability to liberate you.
[00:16:00] Speaker A: Oh nope.
[00:16:01] Speaker B: Oh no.
[00:16:02] Speaker D: Unfortunately no. I was just making sure we're getting ambushed. But I'm sorry, ambushed?
[00:16:07] Speaker E: There you go.
[00:16:08] Speaker D: 27.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: 27 will succeed. So that means it critically succeeds for you, right?
[00:16:15] Speaker D: Correct.
[00:16:16] Speaker A: All right, I as you nimbly, reflexively get out of the way, the tree behind you bursts into flames as this red light hits it.
[00:16:26] Speaker E: Oh no.
[00:16:27] Speaker D: Twintelle will yell out this one's fire. It's fire.
[00:16:33] Speaker A: It is now twin Talon's turn.
[00:16:36] Speaker D: All right. Twin Talon will begin to move. Then I will take. I gotta believe this. Got attack lobby. So I'm gonna take the step action to move 5ft and then I will attack it. All right, this is my plus one dragon bane dog slicer. And that's a natural 20. It's not really dragon bait but that.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Really is one a. Yeah, that will crit.
[00:17:05] Speaker D: Oh good.
[00:17:05] Speaker A: Go ahead and draw a crit card.
[00:17:09] Speaker D: Cool, cool, cool, cool.
[00:17:10] Speaker B: Good to know the rules of the game still apply.
[00:17:12] Speaker C: Crit.
[00:17:12] Speaker D: The target is fatigued so he takes double damage and is fatigued.
[00:17:17] Speaker A: All right, so how much damage?
[00:17:20] Speaker D: That's a great question.
So it's so 23 times two is 46 damage.
[00:17:27] Speaker A: 46 and 46. Got it.
[00:17:31] Speaker E: Madness.
[00:17:32] Speaker D: And that's my turn.
[00:17:34] Speaker A: All right. It is now the beetles turn the day.
[00:17:39] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:17:40] Speaker A: So being very unhappy it is going to snap its jaws at twin talent.
[00:17:51] Speaker D: It's got a plus 20 modifier. That's garbage.
[00:17:55] Speaker A: 28.
[00:17:56] Speaker D: That's a hit.
[00:17:59] Speaker A: Garbage rolls for 22 points of piercing damage.
[00:18:04] Speaker D: I suppose I will take it. Oh, apparently I did take it. All right, cool.
[00:18:09] Speaker A: And then its tail lashes out at Saraya for insulting it.
[00:18:16] Speaker D: Wow, it's got a 20 foot reach. Holy shit.
[00:18:20] Speaker B: Well it was likened to a boa constrictor.
[00:18:23] Speaker D: Yeah, but had little dachshund legs and like a long neck.
[00:18:25] Speaker A: I thought 27 versus your ac.
[00:18:28] Speaker B: Oh you just hit it.
[00:18:30] Speaker E: And she's liberated. Oh I can't. Never mind cuz I've gone yet.
[00:18:33] Speaker A: Oh yes. You haven't gone yet. Haha.
[00:18:35] Speaker E: Sorry.
[00:18:36] Speaker B: Damn it.
[00:18:36] Speaker A: You take 18 points of bludgeoning damage. Ouch.
[00:18:41] Speaker B: Are you just gonna mark that for me?
[00:18:43] Speaker A: And then for its last action it actually automatically grabs you. Saraya with its last action.
[00:18:50] Speaker E: Damn it.
[00:18:51] Speaker A: With improved grab. Finally got one that had improved grab. Yes.
Brianna.
[00:18:58] Speaker E: Can I liberate her now?
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Nope.
[00:19:02] Speaker E: Brianna will point her scimitar at this evildoer and say there is only one way this is going serpent and this is with your head on the ground. And she will ask Lady Surenre for aid in defeating this evildoer. As I enable smite evil, then she will turn to the tale that currently is constricting her good friend Serea.
[00:19:33] Speaker D: So I don't. You can't attack its reach. What?
But I'm curious if we look at archives of methods with grab, do you. It used to be you automatically pull somebody next to you when you grab them. I'm just curious if that's still the case.
[00:19:47] Speaker A: Well, then let's use the old rule where Soraya gets pulled into. So Saraya got pulled into where it was.
[00:19:56] Speaker E: Okay. First action was to enable Smite's second action. She will make her way over and for her.
[00:20:04] Speaker A: And as you move into a threatened square, nothing happens. Right?
[00:20:09] Speaker E: Because I haven't left it, you jerkin.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:20:12] Speaker D: That's not how attack opportunity works.
[00:20:13] Speaker E: Yeah. Thanks for interrupting me again, Sean.
And I will attack. For a 28 year old that will hit good. Take it.
[00:20:22] Speaker D: And then once you take the damage, I would like to make a reaction.
[00:20:25] Speaker A: All right.
[00:20:26] Speaker E: Take twelve damage with an additional four, I think.
[00:20:30] Speaker D: Good for Smite.
[00:20:32] Speaker E: Yes. Until the start of your next turn, your strikes with the weapon, your blade. Ally inhabitants against that foe deals an extra four good damage, increasing to six if you have master proficiency with this weapon. So.
[00:20:46] Speaker A: So another four? Yes.
[00:20:47] Speaker D: Yeah, just straight up four. I like that.
[00:20:49] Speaker E: Right?
[00:20:50] Speaker D: It's very reliable.
[00:20:51] Speaker E: Well, for our turn, unless he's gonna, you know, not attack me, and then.
[00:20:58] Speaker D: So twin Talon's gonna use a reaction.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:21:00] Speaker D: It's my new reaction, which I love. And I love it that Shawn will hate it.
And that's opportune backstab. Make a strike versus a foe and reach hit by an ally's melee attack. So that was a thing that just triggered. So Twintellen's gonna strike it and it's.
[00:21:17] Speaker A: Flat footed cause you're flanking it.
[00:21:19] Speaker D: What's flat footed to Brianna? Because we're flanking it. It's flat footed to me because anyone at all is threatening it.
[00:21:24] Speaker E: Noise.
[00:21:25] Speaker D: I love this game.
32 hit. Okay, that's a shitty roll. 16 damage.
[00:21:34] Speaker A: 16 damage.
[00:21:35] Speaker B: Better than nothing.
[00:21:36] Speaker D: That's three ones for the those at home. Out of 46.
[00:21:40] Speaker A: Sorry, Zoraya.
[00:21:42] Speaker B: Alrighty. So I've been looking up how to deal with being restrained. And I can make the escape action using my unarmed attack modifier, which is actually not awful. I have a plus 15 to unarm attacks, so.
[00:21:56] Speaker A: Versus its reflex. Okay. Reflex DC.
[00:21:59] Speaker B: Is that what it. Oh, yeah. Cause it's using its body.
Cause I was just reading. Typically, it says it's the athletics DC.
[00:22:06] Speaker A: The creature probably knew. Oh, athletics. Well, then we'll use what it is.
Athletics.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: So I'm just gonna roll a d 20 plus 15. Cause I don't think I have an unarmed attack. 29.
[00:22:18] Speaker A: 29.
Even if I used its reflex, DC would pass.
[00:22:25] Speaker B: Okay, so I assume it's just a regular success.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: Yes, it's just barely just a regular success. Okay, but you are no longer grabbed.
[00:22:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it just means I can't move away. So I. But I can do things with. My turn now, Ray.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:22:41] Speaker B: So what was it? Acid. And what are no good against this? Acid and frost.
[00:22:46] Speaker D: Poison.
[00:22:47] Speaker B: Poison.
[00:22:48] Speaker A: Poison.
[00:22:49] Speaker D: And also paralysis, I think.
[00:22:51] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't think I have anything that beat us. Poison, I hate.
[00:22:56] Speaker B: Let's just go with the tried and true. And I'm gonna. I'm gonna firebomb it. The alchemist. Fire moderate. Is this a second attack for me, technically? Because I had to escape.
[00:23:05] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: Okay. Yes. Has the escape action.
[00:23:11] Speaker B: Bow.
[00:23:11] Speaker A: 22 will miss.
[00:23:13] Speaker B: That's what I thought.
[00:23:14] Speaker D: Does it do any splash?
[00:23:16] Speaker B: Um, it should still do splash. And if I can have it splash in a 15 foot cone, does it splash on every square that's affected?
[00:23:25] Speaker A: No, no, but it does take two splash.
Okay, you have one more action.
[00:23:31] Speaker B: Um.
Um.
I could try and attack it again and just see about the splash, but then there's an equal opportunity. I just hit myself in the face.
[00:23:42] Speaker A: I say do it.
[00:23:43] Speaker D: Of course you do.
[00:23:44] Speaker B: I don't think I'm going to. I'm. Shall I think what else I can do? I mean, I'm gonna. I'm gonna retreat. I know it was definitely. It can hit me from here, but.
[00:23:54] Speaker A: I'm just gonna hang out and it does not attack you.
[00:23:57] Speaker B: Well, I'm still within a threatened square, apparently. So.
[00:24:01] Speaker A: Now the dragon pillar goes. And twin Talon, I need you to make another reflex save, please.
[00:24:09] Speaker D: Okay. I would rather it be me than anyone else in the party. 22.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: 22 will fail.
[00:24:18] Speaker D: I rolled a two, so I'd like to use my hero point.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: Okay, so go ahead and roll again.
[00:24:24] Speaker D: Natural 20. Which is a waste for this, but I'll take it.
[00:24:28] Speaker A: Disgusting.
[00:24:29] Speaker D: Which is a 40.
[00:24:31] Speaker A: So it's a 40.
[00:24:34] Speaker B: Jesus, please tell me that's a critical success. I don't know what else would be.
[00:24:38] Speaker D: It's a double critical.
[00:24:40] Speaker A: Yeah. So again, this red light flashes on to where twin Talon is. He gets out of the way and it burns more of the forest, the trees next to jaspereze. Light on fire.
[00:24:54] Speaker E: Oh, boy.
[00:24:55] Speaker D: No, it's very wet here.
[00:24:57] Speaker B: Did you hit Jasper?
[00:24:58] Speaker A: Yeah, he's fine. No, no, no. Just cinematically trying to make these dragon pillars do something, and they're failing miserably.
And now, I hate to say this. Knife, sword, it is your turn.
[00:25:14] Speaker B: Why do you hate to say it? I can't wait to see what's gonna happen.
[00:25:17] Speaker C: I've been thinking a lot about love, and I don't know what this thing eats. Just turns my stomach. I think I'm gonna vomit a swarm on him.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: Okay, the spell is vomit swarm.
[00:25:35] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:25:36] Speaker A: 30 foot cone.
[00:25:37] Speaker D: I believe it is vomit swarm, not vomit swarm. It's not a swarm of vomit. It's him vomiting a swarm of other things.
[00:25:45] Speaker A: I. You don't know.
[00:25:47] Speaker D: I I hope. I can only hope, uh, a 30.
[00:25:51] Speaker A: Foot cone will hit it.
[00:25:52] Speaker B: Ooh.
[00:25:53] Speaker A: Okay, so please explain to me what you belch for.
[00:25:59] Speaker C: I'm belching forth a swarm of seagulls and raccoons.
The little. Those little bastards steal my food all the time.
[00:26:11] Speaker E: They're like, your size.
[00:26:14] Speaker C: Yeah, well, when I'm going through a trash can, they're going through a trash can.
I'm the one that's gonna get what's in the trash can. I hate those things.
[00:26:23] Speaker B: So I have learned that goblins have stomachs of holding.
[00:26:28] Speaker D: These are unresolved issues.
[00:26:31] Speaker A: So I get a basic reflex on that. And you, what is your. What is the reflex?
[00:26:38] Speaker C: Save bites. Dealing two d eight piercing damage. Basic reflex save. So 25.
[00:26:42] Speaker A: 25. So an 18 is less than that, right?
[00:26:47] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:26:47] Speaker A: So that's a fail. So go ahead and roll me two d eight.
[00:26:52] Speaker F: Ooh.
[00:26:52] Speaker D: It's also sickened, so it's now sickened and fatigued. That's fun.
[00:26:57] Speaker A: Yep, it is, Matt. It is. Yay.
[00:27:02] Speaker C: It's done a whole bunch of seagulls and raccoons.
[00:27:11] Speaker A: And it takes ten points of damage.
[00:27:14] Speaker C: And that was only two action points. So I'm gonna. Magic missile hit.
[00:27:18] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and magic missile, the knife sword. Fuck you for four more points of damage. Onto the beta twin talon. It's your turn. Top of round two.
[00:27:35] Speaker D: Well, the first thing I like to do is pick up my reaction so I can use it again, and you drop it. Oh, I used it earlier when I stabbed him. Yeah, I'm gonna pick that up so I can stab him again later. And I'm going to attack his flat footed and fatigued, which is also minus one ac, I think.
[00:27:55] Speaker A: Yep, it is.
[00:27:56] Speaker D: Dragon behind 30.
[00:27:59] Speaker A: Hang on. I mean, it's a hit. I just gotta do some more math.
Regular hits. Regular hits. That's all.
[00:28:06] Speaker D: Boo. All right, 46 plus 722.
[00:28:11] Speaker A: It's still alive.
[00:28:12] Speaker D: Then I am going to.
I guess I'll attack it again. There's really nothing else I do.
[00:28:18] Speaker E: Sure.
[00:28:18] Speaker A: Why not? Why not?
[00:28:20] Speaker E: You can do it.
[00:28:22] Speaker D: That's a natural 20.
[00:28:23] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:28:24] Speaker D: So does a 33. Hit it.
[00:28:26] Speaker A: That is a critical hit, sir. Oh, boy.
[00:28:30] Speaker D: All right. Slashing. Bad parry. Crit effect. The target must succeed at a reflex save or drop one weapon. It's holding, determined randomly by the GM. Since that's a crit effect and he's not holding anything, I will instead take the regular sword crit effect, which is that he is flat footed for everyone.
[00:28:48] Speaker A: All right. Flat footed to everyone until I think.
[00:28:52] Speaker D: The beginning of my next turn, and I'll just do double damage.
[00:28:55] Speaker A: Oh, just double damage.
[00:28:57] Speaker D: That's what it is. All. So 20 is what I rolled. So 40 damage.
[00:29:02] Speaker A: Would you like to describe your kill, sir?
[00:29:06] Speaker B: I mean, he did crit it twice.
[00:29:08] Speaker E: Mm hmm.
[00:29:09] Speaker D: Yeah. So the.
The beta like whips its head around as twin talon slashes it the first time. And twin talon uses its momentum to basically hold the blade up and give it some forward thrust to split its face in twain.
[00:29:26] Speaker E: Impressive.
[00:29:27] Speaker D: He did most of the work.
[00:29:31] Speaker A: We're still in combat.
[00:29:33] Speaker E: What?
[00:29:34] Speaker D: Brianna, the pillar.
The easy thing that we do, it's straight past me. I'll point into the little. If you could basically go straight east from where I am. There's a little hole in the wall.
[00:29:46] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:29:47] Speaker D: That's where. That's where it is. It's in there.
[00:29:49] Speaker E: Speak for yourself.
[00:29:50] Speaker D: You probably have seen beams of light shooting out of it.
[00:29:53] Speaker E: Yeah. Oh, there we go. Thank you.
[00:29:55] Speaker A: Now that it's been pointed out to you, I can unhide it. Twin town, those were two of your three actions. What is your last action?
[00:30:04] Speaker D: My last action is going to be to move and get adjacent to the dragon pillar. So as far as we know, there's nothing else here. Right. We haven't heard or seen anything else.
[00:30:11] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:30:11] Speaker D: Then twintal's gonna move. So you get into that little room with the dragon pillar so he's adjacent to it, but also leaving room for Brianna to be there.
[00:30:19] Speaker E: Aw, thanks.
[00:30:21] Speaker D: Because my thought is that if Brianna comes in and doesn't knock it down, there's at least a 50 50 chance that it'll still hit me. And I'm better equipped to deal with reflex saves and you can liberate me if, even if I get hit.
[00:30:33] Speaker E: Flavor charge, then.
[00:30:35] Speaker D: Mm hmm.
[00:30:36] Speaker A: Absolutely. What flavor would you like to charge?
[00:30:39] Speaker E: I don't know. Probably something spicy.
Let's go with spice. Let's go with a spicy charge.
[00:30:47] Speaker A: I mean, when I think spicy. I think Brio.
[00:30:50] Speaker E: Thanks.
[00:30:51] Speaker C: 52 week old shark fat left out in the sun.
[00:30:58] Speaker D: 52 weeks? That's very specific.
[00:31:02] Speaker B: Why not just.
[00:31:03] Speaker E: Anyway, so Brianna will flavor charge by double moving to the pillar and do what she does best and try and topple this thing over.
[00:31:21] Speaker A: All right, give me a athletics check.
[00:31:26] Speaker E: 25.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: And you put your shoulder into it and knock the pillar over.
[00:31:32] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:31:33] Speaker E: Woohoo.
[00:31:35] Speaker A: Ending the combat.
[00:31:37] Speaker D: Hooray.
[00:31:38] Speaker A: So you guys get 60 xp for that each.
[00:31:43] Speaker D: That seems low, but I'll take it for both the dragon pillar and the dragon.
[00:31:49] Speaker A: Yeah, well so the dragon pillars are only a hazardous, so you guys are two levels above it at this point, okay? And the beta, beta, beta, beta, beta is the same level as you guys, so.
[00:32:04] Speaker D: All right, whatever. So at this point, if we are done, the combat twin Talon, we'll like to search the area to make sure there's nothing either hidden or if he's a dragon, as a horde to, you know, poke at that.
[00:32:15] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:32:16] Speaker A: All right, so we're gonna move into exploration activities. So twin Talon, you are going to be searching for things.
[00:32:25] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:32:26] Speaker A: All right, Brianna, what will you be doing?
[00:32:30] Speaker E: Um, before he, he goes anywhere, Brianna's gonna ask, were you hit at all or did you manage to duck out of the way of all of the things?
[00:32:39] Speaker D: Uh, he, he did graze me with his, his bite once.
[00:32:43] Speaker E: All right, would you mind if I took a look at that before you ran off and poked all the treasures?
[00:32:49] Speaker D: Not at all.
[00:32:50] Speaker E: All right, so that's what Brianna is gonna be doing.
[00:32:52] Speaker A: All right, you'll be doing medicine.
[00:32:54] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: Knife. Sword. Dark hole. Seagull teeth.
[00:32:57] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:32:59] Speaker A: But as your vomit swarm flies away because they're seagulls and raccoons.
[00:33:05] Speaker E: Raccoons that fly away.
[00:33:07] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:33:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:33:08] Speaker A: What, what are you doing? Exploration active.
[00:33:12] Speaker C: I'm gonna run up here to this big old stone pillar.
Pedestal. No, stage the building thing.
[00:33:22] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:33:23] Speaker C: And since I haven't gotten my laps in today, I'm gonna just start doing some laps, all right.
[00:33:30] Speaker B: Just running around the body of the vita in the circle.
[00:33:35] Speaker C: It's goblin leg day.
[00:33:39] Speaker A: And Saraya, I would like to investigate.
[00:33:42] Speaker B: The beta, see if there's anything useful alchemically within it, if it's got any poison sacks or.
[00:33:49] Speaker E: All right, okay.
[00:33:50] Speaker C: But I get the tasty bits.
[00:33:52] Speaker B: You can have the meat. Fine.
[00:33:54] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:33:55] Speaker B: I'd want to eat it anyway.
[00:33:56] Speaker C: No no, I want the entrails.
[00:33:58] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:34:00] Speaker D: I just feel like he's gonna wear them like a boa. That's like a feather boa. You know what?
[00:34:04] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, except it'll be like intestine.
[00:34:07] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:34:07] Speaker B: Gross.
[00:34:10] Speaker A: So Brianna, you made a medicine check. What did you roll?
[00:34:14] Speaker E: 21.
[00:34:15] Speaker A: 21. That is a successful treat. Wounds. It is a regular success. So it's two d eight hit points.
[00:34:23] Speaker E: Fucking hell. Take four back. We sure was just two d eight.
[00:34:28] Speaker A: Yeah. So twin Talon, as you are being healed and treated, I rolled a perception check for you and you discover what looks like a bundle of herbs, a chime, a pair of blackfire opals. Then you manage to find the Betta's hoard of its own, consisting of 310 gold pieces, 2400 silver pieces, 8500 copper pieces, a pair of pristine white gloves, a shield and a wand.
[00:35:11] Speaker D: Okay, I'm gonna shovel all of the coins into the bag of holding. Now the pristine white gloves, they look like the ones that Brianna is wearing that temet had.
[00:35:19] Speaker A: Yes, they do look very similar to them.
[00:35:21] Speaker D: Okay, so Twintalon will come back to the group and when he does, he's going to put the two fire opals in his eyes like squeeze. They're like little monocles. And he's gonna walk in jaunty like, I found some treasure, guys.
[00:35:38] Speaker E: Well done.
[00:35:41] Speaker D: But yeah, I'll hand the. I mean the shield if I'll show it to Brian. I'm like, I don't know if this is anything that you can use. If it's better than what you have, it might be magical. The dragon was sitting on it. And also this wand.
[00:35:55] Speaker E: I don't think I can use the wand. Maybe knife, sword or today I would be more interested. Let me, let me look at that shield.
[00:36:07] Speaker D: Okay. Then I'm gonna go over to knife, sword. Like hey buddy, I found a back scratcher for him.
I love it. I'll hand him the Wanda cuz I figure that's what he's gonna use it for anyway. Doesn't matter what I say.
[00:36:27] Speaker E: I mean, I don't think you're wrong.
[00:36:30] Speaker C: 15.
[00:36:32] Speaker E: Oh right, he's running.
[00:36:34] Speaker B: Are you like, are you just like, like quickly alongside him as he's sprinting?
[00:36:41] Speaker D: I'm gonna hand. We're gonna pretend like it's a relay race. I'm handing off baton.
[00:36:47] Speaker A: Okay, so it's gonna take some time to identify this thing. Can you give me either a Arcana, nature, occultism or religion? Check. Your choice.
[00:36:59] Speaker E: Well, it looks like religion is our bag, so let's do that.
[00:37:02] Speaker A: Yes. And I'm assuming you're at least trained in it, right?
[00:37:05] Speaker E: Uh, in religion?
[00:37:07] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:37:08] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:37:09] Speaker D: Oh, can I assist her?
[00:37:10] Speaker A: You may. It is a DC 20 to assist.
[00:37:14] Speaker E: Well, hopefully because I rolled poorly. I rolled a nine on the die for 19.
[00:37:19] Speaker D: Uh, yeah, I don't assist, unfortunately.
[00:37:22] Speaker A: It's a really cool shield. You notice that there are five jagged spines from the surface of the shield, like, pointing outward, pointing out, like you would put it on your arm and the spikes point out, that's cool.
[00:37:34] Speaker B: Like, bash somebody with it.
[00:37:36] Speaker E: Brianna sees that knife sword is currently working out and doesn't want to break his concentration. She sees that Surya is a bit more still, so she. She thinks to ask her. Hey, hey, Surya, if you wouldn't mind, just look over this way. You don't have to hold it or.
Good lord, what did that thing eat?
[00:38:00] Speaker B: You can come here if you'd like to see. I can take a look at it. Sorry. I would go over there, but I'm a little bit involved.
[00:38:07] Speaker E: Looks like you're you. You took a dive in that thing.
[00:38:10] Speaker D: Elbow deep.
[00:38:14] Speaker E: Okay, well, considering it's.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: It's got some resistances.
[00:38:17] Speaker E: What. What do you make of this shield?
[00:38:20] Speaker B: She's like, about to go into, like, what she's doing and she's like, all.
[00:38:22] Speaker E: Right, fine, never mind. No, no, it's fine.
[00:38:26] Speaker B: Apparently knife sword thinks I smell great.
[00:38:32] Speaker A: I got a 23, which is just enough to identify this as a spined shield.
So five jagged spines project from the surface of the steel shield. Hardness, 624, hit points, breakpoint twelve and repair of 23. The spines are a plus one. Striking shield spikes. When you use the shield block reaction. With this shield, the spines take the damage before the shield itself when the shield would take damage. After applying hardness, one spine snaps off per six damage, reducing the damage by six. The shield takes any remaining damage. When there are no spines left, the shield takes damage as normal. When all the spines are gone, you lose the ability to attack with them until the spines are regenerated the next day.
[00:39:24] Speaker D: Oh, sweet.
[00:39:25] Speaker E: That is so cool.
[00:39:27] Speaker A: Hang on, there's more. There's more.
[00:39:29] Speaker D: But wait, but wait.
[00:39:31] Speaker A: As a one action, interact action, you shoot one of the shield spines at a target.
[00:39:39] Speaker D: Oh, yes.
[00:39:40] Speaker A: A fired spine uses the spikes statistics, but it is a Marshall ranged weapon with a range increment of 120ft.
[00:39:49] Speaker D: Holy shit.
[00:39:51] Speaker E: Sean, you shouldn't have.
[00:39:52] Speaker B: You can also fire them if you so choose. If you're not in range of someone. They have quite the range. And don't worry, they should regenerate every morning. So even if you use all of them, it's not like it's gone forever.
[00:40:01] Speaker E: Brianna's eyes widen.
[00:40:03] Speaker B: She says all this is. She's still like brooding around in.
Her clothes are pristine, like. But like, her elbows, her arms up to the elbow are just gore and viscera and bile.
[00:40:18] Speaker C: I've stopped running. I'm trying to look in the thing where she's digging out the bile and stuff.
[00:40:24] Speaker B: Of course you are. I love it.
[00:40:26] Speaker A: So you will now see that it is in the group loot sheet as a spined shield. You still have some. Some unidentified items as I see dark.
[00:40:36] Speaker B: Hole, like, snooping around. We're just gonna, like, pick up like, a tonsil or something and, like, throw it towards him.
[00:40:50] Speaker E: I guess. Brianna will look at the unidentified items. Are these things that twin Talon recently found?
[00:40:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:40:58] Speaker D: I got a chime, a wand, which I was trying to give to knife sword, but he's running away from me, so I'll look at it.
And there's also something looks like leaves. I'm not sure what that is. Oh, it's the bag of herbs that you just found. Sorry, I totally glossed over that because I was like, herbsen. What do I care about herbs?
Unidentified. So now I care about them.
[00:41:19] Speaker A: All right, if you would like to identify the herbs, it will be any arcana, nature, occultism, or religion. You find some primeval mistletoe, the sprig of berry festooned holly. And mistletoe doesn't wilt or rot. It can be used as a primal focus and it also grants the creature whole. Holding it a one item bonus to nature checks as an activate interact action to action action. Once per every ten minutes, you can squeeze the juice from one of the berries and smear it onto a non magical club or staff to cast shillele upon it. Or as a two action interact action. Once per day, you can twine the sprig around the wrist of one hand and touch it to a tree to cast tree shape upon your.
So when you inevitably die and become a druid, this will be really good.
[00:42:11] Speaker D: Or multi class.
[00:42:12] Speaker B: Mm hmm.
[00:42:13] Speaker E: Or decide to kiss people under it.
[00:42:15] Speaker D: Yes, that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna put it on my belt buckle.
[00:42:19] Speaker E: Wait a minute.
[00:42:22] Speaker D: So the two gems that we found, are they on our loot list or they not on here?
[00:42:25] Speaker A: They are not on there yet. I forgot to put them on there.
[00:42:27] Speaker D: Okay. I just wanna make sure nothing gets missed before we forget about them.
[00:42:31] Speaker A: No worries. They are non magical.
[00:42:33] Speaker D: But they're money.
I'm making them into goggles. All right.
[00:42:39] Speaker A: You actually found them in the eyes of one of the ruined dragon statues.
[00:42:45] Speaker D: Cool.
All right, so we have the chime and the. The wand left.
[00:42:50] Speaker A: Yep. So again, arcana, nature, occultism, or religion for the chime.
[00:42:56] Speaker D: Okay, knife, sword, you want to jump in on this?
[00:43:00] Speaker C: Nope.
[00:43:01] Speaker E: Okay, I'll jump in with religion.
[00:43:04] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:43:05] Speaker A: Okay, Brianna, you identify the chimes as chimes of opening.
This hollow mithril tube is about a foot long and bears engravings reminiscent of an open locks and broken chain. The chime can be activated ten times before it cracks and becomes useless.
[00:43:26] Speaker E: And there's no way of repairing it?
[00:43:28] Speaker A: Yes. Correct.
Cool. Knife, sword, you identify this stick that it was handed to you.
[00:43:37] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:43:38] Speaker A: It is a wand of widening.
[00:43:43] Speaker E: Oh, no.
[00:43:45] Speaker A: The end of this wand is forked instead of tapered. Activate. Cast a spell. The activation takes two. Action if the spell normally takes one to cast, or three if the spell normally takes two. You can do this. Frequency is once per day, plus you could overcharge it if you wanted to. The effect is you cast the spell and increase its area. Add 5ft to the radius of a burst of at least 10ft and 5ft to the length of a cone line that is normally 15ft long or smaller. Or add 10ft to the length of a larger cone or line. The spell that is on this wand is lightning bolt. Lightning bolt.
[00:44:28] Speaker D: I'm. I'm confused. What?
So it's a wand of widening lightning bolt?
[00:44:34] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:44:34] Speaker B: So, okay, so lightning bolt has those effects to it.
[00:44:37] Speaker A: So the spell lightning bolt is a third level spell. It deals four d, twelve electricity damage.
[00:44:44] Speaker B: Uh huh. And then it has the effects of the widening thing?
[00:44:48] Speaker A: Yep. It has the effects of widening.
[00:44:51] Speaker D: Okay, and it's usable? The way wands work now is they're usable once per day, rather than having, like, x charges. That's usable once per day, and you can try to use them again. But if you fail, do you destroy the item?
[00:45:03] Speaker A: After the spell is cast from the wand for the day, you can attempt to cast it one more time, overcharging the wand at risk of destroying it. Cast the spell again, then roll a DC ten flat check on a success. The wand is broken. On a failure, the wand is destroyed. If anyone tries to overcharge a wand that's already been overcharged that day, the wand is automatically destroyed.
[00:45:25] Speaker D: Okay. Basically, use it once per day.
Once per fight. Just blast it.
[00:45:31] Speaker A: Not a bad haul.
[00:45:32] Speaker B: No. Do I find anything interesting and useful in the dragon?
[00:45:37] Speaker A: Yes, you do find the components for some acid because it was resistant to it. So obviously there's a little bit in there.
[00:45:50] Speaker B: So should I just count that as having an extra acid flask today?
[00:45:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:45:54] Speaker E: Brianna is very happy with her shield.
[00:45:56] Speaker A: Yeah, that's not bad.
[00:45:59] Speaker D: Do we know how much the opals are worth?
[00:46:01] Speaker A: Uh, yes, they're about 200 gold each.
[00:46:04] Speaker D: Wow, nice. Considering we have 400 gold pieces and like, you know, 10,000 other coins. But 400 gold pieces, that's like double that.
[00:46:14] Speaker E: Yeah, that's nice.
[00:46:16] Speaker A: Right now I. You have a lot of stuff. That bag is getting pretty full.
[00:46:22] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:46:23] Speaker A: Let's move back to the hexploration map where once again, you have dealt with, not only have you dealt with, you dealt with the last dragon pillar.
[00:46:36] Speaker B: What?
Well, now we get to go to the encampment.
[00:46:42] Speaker D: Well, we wanted to circle around it, right? That's what I, we talked about.
[00:46:46] Speaker B: We were gonna, we're gonna approach from the east.
[00:46:48] Speaker D: No, we came in from the east. I would sort circle around to the west side just to make sure there aren't like reinforcements waiting to ambush us.
[00:46:55] Speaker A: And then what side?
[00:46:57] Speaker D: The west. West side.
[00:47:00] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:47:02] Speaker D: And just make sure there aren't any, you know, forces out in the jungle that are ready to ambush us once the. If we attack the fortress, I mean, it's in real time. It's very little time to just go. I go to the hex. I go to the hex. I go to the hex. I go to the hex. If nothing's there. But if there is something there might be, might be worth taking out.
[00:47:19] Speaker B: Do you want to literally circle around those three adjoining hexes at the bottom? Or do you want to go southwest and then up northwest twice?
[00:47:28] Speaker D: I would go northwest, southwest, northwest, north and then southeast.
[00:47:35] Speaker A: Nothing happens in the first hex to the northe west.
[00:47:43] Speaker B: So the hicks do like walk to the side of the thing and then you.
[00:47:48] Speaker A: Nothing happens here. Rinali makes a beautiful camp for you. You then move to the southwest. Right below, circling where the fortress is. You notice that it gets a little muddy around here. But again, nothing super exciting happens. Then you move to the northe west again, skirting the fortress. And here.
[00:48:13] Speaker E: Oh boy.
[00:48:14] Speaker A: As you enter this area, you've had two nights to rest. So everyone is happy and healthy in a good state.
[00:48:25] Speaker D: Good, let's ruin that.
[00:48:26] Speaker A: So if you're down, health. Yeah.
You see swamp water. It is swamp water.
[00:48:33] Speaker E: No, boy.
[00:48:34] Speaker A: The jungle canopy clears a bit here, giving way to a swampy area of murky pools and twisting creek beds. A demolished campsite sprawls across an island in the shallow bog.
You see three giant bird like creatures start to move towards you, cocking their heads left and write. They look at you, look at them, find out what happens next.
[00:49:08] Speaker E: Good, good.
[00:49:10] Speaker D: We'll have hero points.
[00:49:11] Speaker E: So that's fucking dad and the birds got interrupted. Not me this time. Ha ha.
[00:49:17] Speaker D: Yeah, suck it, birds.
