[00:00:39] Speaker A: Hello, everyone, and welcome to episode 69 of the Cracked Die podcast. My name is Matt. I play twin Talon on the show. And if this is irritating, you're not gonna like this episode. Cause we do this for about an hour. Anyway, welcome back, everyone. Episode 69 is here, and we are rapidly approaching the end of book two. So if you have any questions for Sean about the second or first book, things maybe we didn't talk about or things that didn't get resolved. If you have questions for maybe one of the characters about something that happened that you're curious about, let us know. How do you do that, you may ask. Well, let me tell you, there is a form, a link to a form in the show notes of this episode. So you can go down there, clickity click, fill it out, send it to us, and once we wrap up book two, we will be answering those questions. Additionally, if you weren't aware somehow, our next episode of Absalom, in order is this weekend. This Saturday, March 6, Absalom in order is back on Twitch. That's Twitch TV. Cracked die from 01:00 p.m. eastern to 04:00 p.m. eastern. And now, without further ado, let me take you into episode 69.
Can you picture that?
[00:02:02] Speaker B: Welcome to the 69th episode of the Crack Die podcast.
[00:02:09] Speaker C: I can feel it.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:02:13] Speaker C: Isn't this the one we're all waiting for?
[00:02:17] Speaker D: I need an adult.
[00:02:19] Speaker A: X card.
[00:02:20] Speaker B: X card. X card. X card.
[00:02:22] Speaker A: X card.
[00:02:26] Speaker C: All right, well, was that the surprise, Sean?
[00:02:30] Speaker B: No, I have. I've had thoughts.
[00:02:34] Speaker C: Don't.
[00:02:34] Speaker A: Okay, yeah, we know.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: Did they hurt?
[00:02:39] Speaker B: For this episode and this episode only, I am going to put in a house rule.
[00:02:46] Speaker C: Uh oh. Uh oh.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: This episode needs to be super nice.
Anytime you roll a critical or anytime you get a crit. So, ten above, I want you to draw two crit hit cards and pick your favorite. Ooh, that's how nice it is.
[00:03:07] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:03:08] Speaker B: Does that work for you guys?
[00:03:09] Speaker C: Uh, yeah, sure. So I guess you could say you're critical, hitting on us.
[00:03:19] Speaker B: Ooh.
[00:03:22] Speaker C: I can just imagine his face and just.
He's like, that's it. I'm done. I never should have started this podcast.
[00:03:36] Speaker B: You know, the stress of, like, editing episodes and making sure they get out on time.
That's not the problem. The problem is when you say things like that, it makes me really upset that we're doing this show.
[00:03:54] Speaker C: Oh, no.
So.
Oh, no, no.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: I love doing this show.
I hate puns, but I love the show.
[00:04:03] Speaker C: What?
[00:04:05] Speaker B: Let's. Let's deep dive. All right, in this nice episode. You all leveled up.
[00:04:12] Speaker C: Yes, super nice.
[00:04:15] Speaker B: Which makes you all a level eight.
[00:04:18] Speaker D: I'm taller.
[00:04:22] Speaker B: Okay, I wish I was a baller.
Let's talk about our level ups. So, Christine, what happens to Saraya at level eight?
[00:04:37] Speaker C: One of my fun new things is I think it was a skill feat. So I am now a. I have the familiar master dedication, which means Jasper turns into an enhanced familiar. So instead of only two abilities to pick from each day, I can have up to four. He's going to be helping me out in some fun new ways, and that should be interesting. I am also now schooled in secrets. I can use occultism instead of diplomacy to gather information about occult, secret, creepy groups and stuff. So that should be very fun. And as per usual, I have a couple new formulas this level. They are blight bomb and wyvern poison. So I'm looking forward to getting to use those.
[00:05:19] Speaker D: That's awesome.
[00:05:20] Speaker B: I'm so excited about them.
They just sound so harmless.
[00:05:26] Speaker C: Totally harmless. You know, Wyvern poison totally doesn't do, like, multiple D sixes per turd for, like, six rounds.
Oof. Ooh.
[00:05:37] Speaker B: What type of blight balms are they? Are they lesser? Greater?
[00:05:41] Speaker C: They are moderate. They light bombs contain a volatile, toxic chemical that rots flesh. Blight bomb deals illicit poison damage, persistent poison damage, and splash. So that would be two d, six, plus two d, four plus two splash. Heck.
[00:05:56] Speaker B: Oh, boy. So does that mean you also have lesser?
[00:06:00] Speaker A: You. You don't get both. You just get the one you get.
[00:06:02] Speaker C: Yeah. So I can only make moderate bombs.
[00:06:05] Speaker B: Great.
[00:06:06] Speaker C: Yes. And then Wyvern poison, like I said, does many, much damage over many, much turns. Many, much damage. Yeah, it starts at poison, goes to. Goes to, then stays there, provided, of course, you don't succeed. Your succeeding.
[00:06:22] Speaker B: That is just absolutely disgusting.
[00:06:24] Speaker C: The saving is DC 26, so I'm very excited to see about that.
[00:06:30] Speaker B: I don't.
I don't like that at all.
[00:06:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:06:35] Speaker C: My plan now is to start using my sling more often, because one of the fun things Jasper can do is just hand me the pre made bomb out of my bag, or. That's fun. Or if I choose to pick that that day, I can give him a poison reservoir, and he can just spit poison onto people's weapons for me. Oh, my gosh.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: Yeah, that's enough. Enough. I don't want to hear anymore. I'm already sick to my stomach.
[00:07:00] Speaker A: Sounds delicious.
[00:07:03] Speaker B: That was from your pun. So let's go to. Let's go to someone who's going to be a little less disgusting. Brianna, what did you get?
[00:07:13] Speaker C: I don't know about this.
Well, Sean, it seemed that we were thirsting, us thirsty thoughts for some attack of opportunity. So I went back to level six and picked up attack of opportunity.
[00:07:31] Speaker B: Great.
[00:07:32] Speaker C: Yeah. You're welcome.
[00:07:34] Speaker A: I like the way you say that, like you don't mean it.
[00:07:39] Speaker B: Anything else I should know about or that our listeners should know about?
[00:07:44] Speaker C: And the next thing I chose, I thought it was just kind of fun. We'll see how it works out. I chose wall jump.
If I'm adjacent to a wall at the end of a jump, I can use another action to jump again, but only once.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: Okay. I'm putting a house rule in for this.
[00:08:03] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:08:04] Speaker B: You need to make the mario noises.
[00:08:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:08] Speaker C: Oh, you got it.
[00:08:10] Speaker B: Yes. When you wall jump, I have to hear that noise or else it doesn't work.
[00:08:13] Speaker C: Oh, my God. But do you want me to create it in post or.
No, he wants to. Whatever won't get through your mic live. Got it. So I have to do it.
[00:08:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
So now the group has attacks of opportunity. Yeah.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: Finally.
[00:08:34] Speaker B: All right, so someone. Let's go to someone else who will make me less upset about how dangerous this group is. Twin Talon.
[00:08:45] Speaker C: Oh, dear.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Um, have you ever heard me level up before? I don't really understand.
[00:08:50] Speaker C: Yeah, he gets, like, extra deadly.
[00:08:54] Speaker B: You took hug puppies?
[00:08:57] Speaker A: I mean, that would be.
[00:08:58] Speaker C: Oh, how are your puppies doing?
[00:09:00] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:09:01] Speaker C: They're back home with my brother.
[00:09:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
No, I think they're bumming around with the goblins, I think.
[00:09:07] Speaker C: Are they? I don't remember.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: It's unclear. I don't remember. It was two years ago.
[00:09:12] Speaker B: It was a while ago you left. Let me just put it into context of recording time. When you left them with someone, we were still playing in person.
[00:09:23] Speaker C: That's true. That's true.
[00:09:25] Speaker B: Yeah. Anyway, what did you take for your level ups?
[00:09:30] Speaker A: So as always, I gotta still increase every level. So I took my sneaking, or my stealth goes from expert to master level. I also get a skill feat. So I took swift sneak, which allows me to move my full speed when sneaking and.
Yeah, right. It's gonna be a quick, quick stab stab. Hopefully that'll be the end of it. And then the one that is going to make Sean a little queasy is I took my class feat. It's called opportune backstab.
So basically what it does as a reaction, I can make what is essentially an attack of opportunity when any of my allies hit someone in melee that I could also hit in melee.
[00:10:16] Speaker C: Oh, yes.
Yes.
All the. Yes.
[00:10:21] Speaker A: So the fun thing. The fun thing would be if somebody, like, moved drew an attack of opportunity from Brianna because they got attacked by Brianna Twintelle and then stabbed them too. Like, we could do stuff like that.
[00:10:34] Speaker C: It's so romantic, honey.
[00:10:36] Speaker A: Right. Thank you. It's not quite as useful as it was when we had, you know, barbarian who was always in front, and a cleric who was, for some reason, always in front.
He was. He was always. Melee. Got his shield smashed in, but that's fine. He was a war priest, so up front is where he kind of wanted to be. But anyway, with more people in melee, like gang up and opportune backstabber are more useful.
Right now it's just Brianna. But we'll see. We'll see how things go.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: Anything else to make my day better?
[00:11:13] Speaker A: I think you should ask the sorcerer what kind of nonsense he's bringing to the table other than all of the stuff we've seen him do so far.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: Okay.
Knife. Sword. Dark hole. Seagull. Teeth. Rob.
[00:11:28] Speaker D: Well, mister DM, sir, um.
[00:11:30] Speaker B: What did you do? What did you do?
[00:11:34] Speaker D: I didn't really do anything, like, you know, mean to you.
My stuff's more oriented towards the group in general. I just think these guys look weird, and, you know, they don't. They dress real funny, and it doesn't really jibe with what I'm thinking, so I just took a spell that lets me make everybody look like I want them to look.
[00:11:52] Speaker C: Wait, what?
I'm sorry. Mm hmm.
[00:11:57] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:11:57] Speaker C: You don't like how we look?
[00:11:59] Speaker D: You're all very tall.
[00:12:01] Speaker C: Okay, that's fair.
[00:12:02] Speaker B: He's. He's become the, uh, the suits guy. You're gonna love the way you look.
[00:12:08] Speaker D: Or at least I will.
[00:12:10] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm gonna love the way you look. As if that would be the right commercial.
[00:12:14] Speaker B: I guarantee it.
Okay.
[00:12:22] Speaker C: How do you feel, Shawn?
[00:12:24] Speaker B: I'm just gonna take a minute. I'm gonna breathe.
See, the nice thing is, I know what you're about to go up against.
[00:12:32] Speaker C: Oh, boy.
[00:12:33] Speaker B: And it makes me feel ever so slightly. Ever so slightly better.
[00:12:39] Speaker C: Okay. All right. At least there's that, I guess.
[00:12:42] Speaker B: You know what?
I'm happy for all of you. I'm proud of all of you. You've made it to level eight.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: You have.
[00:12:51] Speaker B: And you know what? You've only churned through three party members.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: Shut up. So you know three party members?
[00:13:01] Speaker D: I'm sorry, what?
[00:13:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Wait, what?
[00:13:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:13:04] Speaker B: Nothing. Nothing.
[00:13:06] Speaker C: Yeah, we weren't cheating on you, Rob. It's fine.
[00:13:08] Speaker D: Wait, what? Huh?
[00:13:14] Speaker C: That's it?
69. Focus on that. Yep.
[00:13:20] Speaker D: You had other goblins?
[00:13:22] Speaker B: No. No other goblins. No other goblin.
[00:13:25] Speaker C: You are first goblin robbers.
[00:13:26] Speaker D: Okay. Thought I was. Okay, all right.
[00:13:29] Speaker B: You're not, actually. You've had other goblins, just not in the party.
[00:13:33] Speaker D: Wait, what?
[00:13:33] Speaker B: Oh, sorry.
[00:13:34] Speaker A: I mean, we've met other goblins.
[00:13:36] Speaker C: Yes. There we go.
[00:13:37] Speaker B: So you all wake up from a very restful night's sleep, because Renali has built a beautiful shelter that was undetectable.
[00:13:47] Speaker C: Yay.
[00:13:48] Speaker B: And now my question to you folks at your brand new level eight, where do you want to go?
[00:13:55] Speaker A: Funny you should ask, Sean.
Okay, so I would suggest we go southwest, because two hexes southwest of us is a dragon pillar. So if we explore the one directly. Southwest, currently, just to make sure we don't run through something and have re make camp, and then the next day, we can get to the dragon pillar.
[00:14:18] Speaker B: Great. So you guys move southwest, taking your time, searching as you are. Nothing exciting happens there. You get to actually spend the day. You can wash and clean in a beautiful flowing river. Knife, sword. You don't have to do that.
[00:14:39] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:14:41] Speaker B: And then you guys, again, since Renalia is making these. These shelters for you, they are always a success. And you guys have another restful night. Next morning, you wake up and you continue to the southwest.
[00:14:56] Speaker D: So what's the deal with Remulade?
[00:14:58] Speaker B: Remulade?
[00:14:59] Speaker A: I'm sorry, what?
[00:15:00] Speaker D: Remulade?
[00:15:02] Speaker A: Who. Who's that?
[00:15:05] Speaker D: The person that keeps setting up the tents.
[00:15:08] Speaker A: Oh, Rinali.
She is a disguised spider who we rescued from being stranded far away.
[00:15:19] Speaker D: Thought she was looking at me funny.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: I'm pretty sure she's not gonna eat any of us. She hasn't yet.
[00:15:25] Speaker C: That, and you are new to the group. I'm sure she's just making sure you're. You're okay.
[00:15:32] Speaker A: Okay, so I gotta ask. Where are you from? Have we asked you that before?
[00:15:40] Speaker D: I'm from a little place called the heap.
[00:15:43] Speaker A: The heap.
[00:15:44] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:15:44] Speaker A: Where's. Where's that relative to where we are now?
[00:15:47] Speaker D: Somewhere else.
[00:15:49] Speaker A: Cool.
Cool.
Is it, like, how did you get here?
[00:15:55] Speaker D: Well, I tired of my meaningful existence in the heap and decided I was cut out for something better. Bigger, less.
Less goblins.
[00:16:08] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:16:09] Speaker D: There were just too many of them, and, you know, after we ran out of food and ate half of them and there still wasn't enough food, decided to seek adventure and fortune and more muck.
[00:16:24] Speaker C: Wait, wait.
I feel like I missed something. You ate your kin?
[00:16:30] Speaker D: Sure. Anyway, so, you know, after about a 16th of a day's travel, uh, everything went dark and I woke up in that hole.
[00:16:42] Speaker A: So you're not really sure where you are compared to where you were, other than not here.
[00:16:47] Speaker D: Yeah. There's a lot less buildings around the heap. I mean, here has a lot less buildings than are around the heap.
Wow.
[00:16:56] Speaker A: Gotcha.
[00:16:57] Speaker D: Talking common is hard.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I getcha.
Okay. Well, I mean, you've been a valuable ally, and I have to be honest, I don't know where the heap is, so.
I mean, although it seems like you don't really want to go back there. You left because there wasn't enough food.
[00:17:19] Speaker D: Yeah, you can only eat so many rocks and bones and stuff before you get tired of it.
[00:17:25] Speaker C: Makes sense.
[00:17:25] Speaker A: I can only imagine so trital to kind of look at Brianna and Saraya, and they're like, well, we.
Where we're from, there is a tribe of goblins. I'm not sure if you'd be interested in coming back with us, but it's better than wandering around the jungle forever, I guess.
Unless we're into that.
[00:17:46] Speaker D: We'll see what you got.
[00:17:50] Speaker A: I guess that's fair.
[00:17:53] Speaker C: They live in a rather large fortress and take care of it and live amongst their tribe that way.
[00:18:01] Speaker A: I mean, we all live there. The goblins and us.
[00:18:04] Speaker D: Oh, well, that sounds nice. Okay, I'll think about it. But right now, I'm gonna go sniff this dung pile.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: I believe that's Denver's, but all right.
[00:18:17] Speaker D: Oh, you mean your giant, hairless rat? Yeah.
[00:18:20] Speaker A: Yeah, that thing.
[00:18:22] Speaker C: Wait, what? I don't think he understands what Denver is.
[00:18:26] Speaker A: It's fine. It's fine.
[00:18:28] Speaker C: Okay, Brianna, we'll pull out the map. Now that we're all sitting together, what's. What's next? What are we. Are we going to this pillar next? Yeah, I think we're heading on southwest again.
[00:18:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't see why not. I mean, it looks like it's close. Then we can loop around the. The fortress there to make sure there's nothing on the perimeter that we should be concerned about before going in.
And I think that's. That's as much as I know that's what's on this map.
[00:18:55] Speaker C: Yeah.
Before we do continue, I kind of want to ask a question. In terms of role play, do you guys feel like. What do you mean? Nope. Fuck you, Shawn.
Do you feel like at least twin talents are. And Brienne are kind of, like, burying themselves in, like, this task and this task and just kind of wanting to get out of the jungle as quick as possible just to kind of bury what they're feeling about their friends? Absolutely.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: There's a lot of complex emotions, I'm sure, but focusing on a task so that we don't think about other stuff is probably not out of the realm of possibility.
[00:19:35] Speaker C: Right. Right. Okay. Just kind of wanted to touch base on that since we haven't seen, spoken about it on air anyway.
[00:19:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, maybe next time we camp.
[00:19:43] Speaker C: We've talked about it about as much as the characters have. Right. Okay, so I guess we are moving to this closest pillar. You said you wanted to loop back around.
[00:19:54] Speaker A: Yeah, I can't see the map currently, but if we go to the southwest of this pillar that's adjacent to where we are, then we can go southeast and kind of make a clockwise loop around the fortress. We can hit the last pillar that I know of, or that we know of on the way. You know, just to clear out the surrounding things. Make sure there's no, like, reinforcements or anything that's going to show up or any supply lines that we can cut. And once we do that, actually, we go in, we still have the. The black powder.
So at least, you know, if we have to, we can either make a distraction or just blow a big hole in there. Their fortress wall.
[00:20:24] Speaker C: I like that plan. Certainly.
[00:20:26] Speaker A: Hey, seagull teeth. Do you have any spells that use fire?
[00:20:32] Speaker D: Maybe?
I kind of just do them.
[00:20:36] Speaker A: Okay. I just. I know that Saray always has fire bombs, but they're not super long range, and I wasn't sure how. How long. How distant you can be with your. Your fire magic. Brianna.
[00:20:48] Speaker D: Well, let me. Let me try something.
[00:20:58] Speaker C: Don't poop your pants.
[00:20:59] Speaker A: He could have burst a blood vessel.
[00:21:01] Speaker C: It looks like it. Just don't hurt yourself, please.
[00:21:04] Speaker A: His eyes were bugging out of his head even more than normal.
[00:21:08] Speaker C: Is that possible?
[00:21:09] Speaker D: I cast an electric arc, leaps from my finger to. I don't know what. Somebody's bed.
[00:21:16] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[00:21:21] Speaker A: Yeah, that's not fire. We'll figure it out.
[00:21:24] Speaker C: If not, I'll keep practicing myself. Fire ray. I don't do it terribly often. She'll also kind of, like, snap her fingers trying to create a spark sort of thing between them.
I'll keep practicing on the way.
[00:21:37] Speaker B: All right, so you move to the southwest to explore the last dragon pillar on this side of the river. And you enter a jungle clearing as you've walked today, it's been raining and the rain, nearly constant within the jungle, comes down in sheets between the broken gaps in the forest canopy. Here, the clouds above, almost black and flashing with lightning. Several of these trees in the area are split open with jagged wounds. Along their bark, their insides smoldering red as they burn from the inside out.
[00:22:14] Speaker C: Like lightning has struck here and recently.
[00:22:16] Speaker D: I didn't do that.
[00:22:18] Speaker C: No, I don't. We don't think you did that.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: Sure. You were using lightning earlier, twin Talon.
[00:22:24] Speaker D: I don't think I did that.
[00:22:28] Speaker A: You might be much more powerful than you realize.
[00:22:30] Speaker D: Everyone be careful.
[00:22:32] Speaker A: Okay?
[00:22:35] Speaker C: Let us all beware.
[00:22:37] Speaker A: Okay?
Yeah, Twintown's gonna start sneaking toward the pillar. There's always fucking bad guys lurking around the pillar, so he's trying to spot them before they spot us for once.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: All right, let's, uh, let's stop for a second there, Mister Twin Talon. Okay, mister. Mister Talon of the twins, as you give me. Actually, I'm just gonna take a perception check from you. How's that sound?
[00:23:06] Speaker A: Great.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: How good you are sneaking up this way.
[00:23:12] Speaker C: I mean. You know what?
[00:23:13] Speaker D: Also, I thought he was ending the episode for a second.
[00:23:19] Speaker B: Congrats.
[00:23:19] Speaker C: We've done absolutely nothing. We talked about leveling up. Did little role play. See you next week.
[00:23:25] Speaker A: So much for those double crits that we were given.
[00:23:28] Speaker B: I know. Why do you think I was so happy you guys are taking so long?
[00:23:33] Speaker A: Please talk in detail.
[00:23:35] Speaker B: What are the rest of you doing? While twin Talon is sneaking, Brianna will.
[00:23:41] Speaker C: Likely move along as well with her shield up as always. Would that be. I'm trying to remember what. What the official term was for it. He was avoiding notice. I'm guard.
[00:23:53] Speaker A: Being on guard.
[00:23:54] Speaker C: Guarded. Guarded beyond guard. Yeah, guarded steps. No, that's something else.
You guys know what I'm trying to say?
[00:24:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm looking now, actually.
[00:24:03] Speaker C: Yes, well, I noticed.
[00:24:06] Speaker B: Defend. Yeah, you move half your speed and with your shield raised.
[00:24:10] Speaker C: Well, there we go.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: All right. And mister Teeth. Doctor teeth.
[00:24:14] Speaker D: What?
[00:24:15] Speaker B: What are you doing? While. While Twintalon is sneaking forward.
[00:24:21] Speaker D: Oh, man. I guess I'm just gonna look around.
[00:24:25] Speaker B: I appreciate that.
[00:24:27] Speaker A: He's doctor teeth.
[00:24:28] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:24:31] Speaker A: And we are electric mayhem.
[00:24:34] Speaker B: Well, you're mayhem, that is for sure.
[00:24:37] Speaker A: There's electricity happening some way, some reason.
[00:24:40] Speaker D: I'm not real sure what's going on.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: So we're in exploration activities which you can search for, seeking out.
[00:24:49] Speaker D: Oh, no, I know what's going on. I don't know what's going on.
[00:24:53] Speaker B: I'm sorry. Yes, go ahead.
[00:24:55] Speaker D: I'm gonna follow baldy, like real close and try to mimic his actions.
[00:25:03] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Excellent.
[00:25:05] Speaker C: He's also avoiding notice.
[00:25:06] Speaker B: I think it's following the expert.
[00:25:08] Speaker C: Oh, follow the expert. Yes.
[00:25:10] Speaker D: No, no. I'm literally doing the exact same thing he does.
[00:25:16] Speaker A: Mimicking the expert. I think is what that is.
[00:25:21] Speaker C: I think you have a fan. Twin Talon.
[00:25:24] Speaker A: Okay, well, could be worse.
[00:25:25] Speaker B: And you're a twin talon. You're a master, right?
[00:25:30] Speaker A: Of stealth. Yes, I'm a master. And I am quick quickity quick with the stealth. Not that it matters, but.
[00:25:36] Speaker B: All right. Which is going to give knife sword a plus three to following you and Saraya. What are you doing?
[00:25:45] Speaker C: Given that I know that point of this is to take down a dragon pillar, I am also following the expert.
[00:25:50] Speaker B: All right, let's see how well you stealth, you also get a plus three. So as you are stealthing, you do see a single creature nested in the tree?
[00:26:06] Speaker A: Oh, it's one of those guys.
[00:26:08] Speaker B: Yes. Would you care to just describe what you see?
[00:26:11] Speaker A: It's one of those over oversized, emaciated bat creatures we saw hanging upside down outside of the mine camp.
[00:26:19] Speaker C: Oh, the what? The Sabbath.
[00:26:21] Speaker A: Yeah, that's it. So who did he escape from the Sabbath? One of the Sabazans did get away from us.
[00:26:28] Speaker C: Oh, it's true.
[00:26:29] Speaker A: I think so.
[00:26:31] Speaker D: He was owned by someone, right? And then he escaped.
[00:26:35] Speaker A: What?
[00:26:36] Speaker C: I don't know. I don't think so.
[00:26:38] Speaker D: Well, you said he was emaciated.
[00:26:40] Speaker C: No, it's not emancipated.
[00:26:43] Speaker A: Common stuff.
[00:26:45] Speaker C: He's very thin, but you can see his bones. You're not supposed to be able to see their bones. It doesn't seem like he's been eating.
[00:26:52] Speaker B: And as you are moving up there, as soon as you spot the Sabbath san.
[00:26:59] Speaker A: Mm hmm?
[00:26:59] Speaker B: The dragon pillar spots you.
[00:27:02] Speaker A: Oh, good.
[00:27:03] Speaker B: So the dragon pillar is a hazard, which means it does its reaction, and then we roll initiative.
[00:27:10] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:27:11] Speaker B: Does a 23 hit your ac, Mister Twintallon?
[00:27:17] Speaker A: It does not.
[00:27:18] Speaker B: No. Okay, so a yellow light grazes past your head. And now for the time that you are all looking forward to, let combat begin.
[00:27:31] Speaker A: That's how it usually happens anyway.
[00:27:35] Speaker B: Mortal kombat.
[00:27:38] Speaker C: That's as much as we can sing without getting in trouble.
[00:27:43] Speaker D: Let's bring it onto rumble.
[00:27:46] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:27:47] Speaker B: All right, everyone, roll. Go ahead and roll. Initiatives.
Knife. Sword. Rolled. A 24.
[00:27:55] Speaker A: Yeah, we learned from last time. Rolling high. High is good. And rolling low is bad.
[00:28:00] Speaker C: Mm hmm, mm hmm. Yeah.
[00:28:02] Speaker B: And twin Talon, what did you roll?
[00:28:05] Speaker A: 27.
[00:28:06] Speaker B: 27.
[00:28:08] Speaker D: Can I take my initiative in the form of shadowrun?
[00:28:10] Speaker A: We wish.
I'm gonna go on 27. And then 17. And then seven.
[00:28:15] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:28:18] Speaker C: I did get a 17.
[00:28:20] Speaker B: Twin Talon, go first. Okay, test your might.
[00:28:27] Speaker A: All right. Twin Talon will move forward. Does the savvy sand look like it's asleep or what's its deal?
[00:28:35] Speaker B: No, it looks like it's on guard.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: Great. I'm going to stab it. I'm gonna try to anyway. And since I go before it in the first initiative round and I was stealthing, it is flat footed to me.
[00:28:45] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:28:46] Speaker C: Very nice.
[00:28:46] Speaker A: Oh, garbage. I rolled a natural three, which gives me a 20.
[00:28:50] Speaker B: Does that even hit it with it being flat footed? That will hit.
[00:28:55] Speaker A: Okay, good.
[00:28:56] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:28:58] Speaker A: I was gonna say that's a bull.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: All right, I will also say that, you know, since we are being so nice this episode, everyone gets a hero point. So everyone has one hero point.
[00:29:10] Speaker A: Everyone has one total hero point.
[00:29:11] Speaker D: I don't like the way he said that.
[00:29:12] Speaker B: So everyone has a single hero.
[00:29:14] Speaker A: So when you say nice, you mean just like always?
[00:29:17] Speaker B: Well, I'm really bad at handing them out, so I'm trying to be better about it. Mm hmm.
[00:29:21] Speaker A: Mm hmm.
[00:29:22] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:29:24] Speaker A: All right.
[00:29:25] Speaker C: Good job, Sean. You remembered.
[00:29:28] Speaker A: Wow. So I rolled 46 plus six and got 15.
Not great.
[00:29:35] Speaker B: A two, a four, a one and a two.
[00:29:38] Speaker A: Decidedly below average.
Twin Talon will rethink his life choices, and he will attack it again.
[00:29:44] Speaker B: Right?
[00:29:44] Speaker A: 24.
[00:29:45] Speaker B: 24 will just hit.
[00:29:48] Speaker A: Still flat footed, so take some sneak attacks. Wow. Two ones. 16, 11531 point better than last time.
[00:29:57] Speaker B: You have a third action.
[00:30:00] Speaker A: I moved.
[00:30:00] Speaker B: It's flat footed. Oh, you did?
[00:30:04] Speaker A: So, Twintellen will, we'll say, brianna, get the pillar on it like we do every time.
[00:30:10] Speaker C: That's what Brianna's gonna do. Yeah.
[00:30:13] Speaker B: Well, conveniently enough, Brianna, it is your turn.
[00:30:17] Speaker C: She will double move.
[00:30:18] Speaker B: Double move. Whoosh. All right.
[00:30:20] Speaker C: And heave against the pillar.
[00:30:23] Speaker B: Heave against the pillar. Give me an athletics.
[00:30:28] Speaker A: I feel like a running charge against this thing should get a bonus rather than just, like, standing.
[00:30:32] Speaker B: I do too. You know what? Plus one. All right.
[00:30:35] Speaker C: Okay. That's awesome. Okay, so athletics. Bloop, bloop. 33. That's with the plus one.
[00:30:44] Speaker B: And the dragon pillar is knocked over.
[00:30:48] Speaker C: Nice. Brianna's just like, I know what I'm doing.
We've done this before.
[00:30:55] Speaker B: Knifes are dark. Holy seagull teeth.
[00:30:57] Speaker D: First, I'm going to put 1ft in front of the other, followed by the other foot in front of that one.
[00:31:03] Speaker C: Gasp.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: Leg asp.
[00:31:06] Speaker D: And then I'm going to conjure tendrils of darkness.
I'm sorry. One might even say they're grim.
[00:31:17] Speaker C: Okay, grim tendrils.
[00:31:19] Speaker B: You say, let's try save against your 26 fortitude. Save 23.
[00:31:30] Speaker A: It's not 26.
[00:31:31] Speaker B: It is not. It's a failure.
[00:31:34] Speaker D: I'm trying to do it so I don't hit twin blade.
[00:31:38] Speaker A: That's not my name. That's not my name.
[00:31:44] Speaker D: Two pointy things.
[00:31:46] Speaker C: I feel like it's gonna be a thing from here on in where he'll nail. Never remember your name ever.
[00:31:51] Speaker D: Am I gonna hit him there?
[00:31:52] Speaker B: I'll say no.
[00:31:55] Speaker D: Rolling damage.
[00:31:56] Speaker B: Rolling, rolling, rolling. That damage.
[00:31:59] Speaker D: Three.
[00:32:00] Speaker B: Three points of damage.
[00:32:03] Speaker D: That is special.
[00:32:05] Speaker B: Damage also has one persistent bleed. So on its turn, it will take one more bleed until it makes a save time spent. Okay, you moved and you shot some grim tendrils.
[00:32:18] Speaker C: Saraya, I am going to move up, be within 20ft of the dude. And I'm going to guess because I don't remember off the top of my head, I'm going to guess it's a weird vampire thing. Fire is going to be a good bit hero.
[00:32:34] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:32:34] Speaker C: Will a 19 hit it?
[00:32:36] Speaker B: It will not. But you do have a hero point.
[00:32:39] Speaker C: Just try again on attack too.
[00:32:41] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:32:41] Speaker C: I believe in you. I rolled a three that I wrote grave and eight probably for. It's another 19, another hate everything.
I get one crit.
[00:32:54] Speaker B: That's it.
[00:32:55] Speaker C: I can't hit again for another God knows how long. Anyway, that was my. That was my turn. Move, throw, throw.
[00:33:00] Speaker B: Okay, next up is the Sabbath sands turn.
[00:33:05] Speaker C: Oh, boy.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: First thing it's going to do is claw at twin talent.
[00:33:10] Speaker C: That's not nice.
[00:33:11] Speaker B: Oh, does a 35 hit you?
[00:33:15] Speaker A: Yes, but it does not crit. Thank you, level eight.
[00:33:19] Speaker B: It does crit because it was a natural 20. Haha.
Unfortunately, these do not have any names, so they're just going to deal some demo.
[00:33:32] Speaker C: Oh, am I close enough?
[00:33:34] Speaker A: Oh, you are.
[00:33:36] Speaker B: Oh, 16 points of slashing damage. I rolled two d six. And guess what?
[00:33:43] Speaker A: I rolled two sixes.
[00:33:46] Speaker B: Two sixes.
Nice.
[00:33:51] Speaker C: Well, how about minus ten?
[00:33:53] Speaker A: All right, I'll take it.
[00:33:55] Speaker B: Ew.
[00:33:57] Speaker C: Thank you. Level eight.
[00:33:58] Speaker A: Thanks, Rita.
[00:34:00] Speaker B: All right, we still haven't figured out.
[00:34:01] Speaker C: How that looks like. I'm guessing it's like this beam of light that mimics her shield. Kind of like jumps in front, I guess. Yeah.
[00:34:10] Speaker A: I am gonna take the movement. I'm going to circle around to the opposite side of the Savasan so that knife, sword and soraya have a cleaner shot at it. And Brienne, I can more easily move to flank.
[00:34:24] Speaker C: Sounds good, right?
[00:34:25] Speaker B: So that was its first action. Its second action is to dance. Well, kind of more like shriek.
[00:34:35] Speaker A: That's okay.
[00:34:36] Speaker C: So sing.
[00:34:37] Speaker A: It's not the same. Yeah, singing bestly.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: More like singing in a 30 foot cone.
[00:34:44] Speaker C: Oh, no. Yeah. This just does not bode well. I'm with you. Christine, please.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: Knife, sword and Saraya, please make a fortitude save.
[00:34:58] Speaker C: 28.
[00:34:59] Speaker B: Knife, sword. You fail. But you have a hero point. Would you like to reroll?
[00:35:03] Speaker D: Yes, please.
[00:35:04] Speaker B: All right, go ahead and roll again.
[00:35:07] Speaker D: That's better.
[00:35:08] Speaker B: That's much better. Roll with a natural 20.
[00:35:12] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:35:12] Speaker B: I'm just gonna take that hero point from you though. And Saraya with a 28, you succeed.
So this loud you one would call it a fell shriek rings out and does not affect anyone.
[00:35:32] Speaker C: Excellent.
Is it gonna summon more? Well, we'll find out.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: So from directly behind you, Brianna, you hear wings flapping.
[00:35:45] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:35:46] Speaker B: And you see it. First action is gonna do a like responding shriek in 30ft.
I need Brianna and twin Talon to make a fortitude save.
[00:36:05] Speaker A: I'm sure it's not a reflex save.
[00:36:07] Speaker B: I am very much.
[00:36:08] Speaker A: I would like it to be a reflex.
[00:36:12] Speaker C: 34.
[00:36:13] Speaker B: 34.
You're fine.
[00:36:17] Speaker C: Don't sound so sad, Sean.
[00:36:19] Speaker A: 19.
[00:36:20] Speaker B: That is a failure. Sir, would you like to use that hero point?
[00:36:25] Speaker A: I guess. I mean, not really, but sure.
[00:36:28] Speaker B: Okay, go ahead and reroll it.
[00:36:30] Speaker A: Here's why I roll a natural one.
[00:36:31] Speaker C: No, don't jinx yourself.
[00:36:33] Speaker A: 24.
[00:36:34] Speaker B: That is a save. Okay, so it shrieks and flies towards Brienne.
[00:36:44] Speaker C: That dude is what she says. It's canon now, but that's just a thing she says like where'd your accent go? Yeah. Yes, it's her catchphrase.
[00:36:58] Speaker B: And lastly, lastly, another Sabazan from directly south of Brianna flies forward for its first action.
And second action. It tries to claw you, Brianna. Okay, does a 29 hit you?
[00:37:17] Speaker C: Let me check.
[00:37:19] Speaker B: Your shield is dead.
[00:37:20] Speaker C: We just leveled. Yeah, it says here it is 29 is my ac, so.
[00:37:27] Speaker B: Oh, it does hit you then.
[00:37:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:37:29] Speaker A: And you used your reaction to save me, right?
[00:37:32] Speaker C: To liberate you? No worries.
[00:37:35] Speaker B: You take.
[00:37:36] Speaker C: This is my job.
[00:37:37] Speaker B: Twelve points of damage.
[00:37:39] Speaker C: I'll take it.
[00:37:41] Speaker B: Then it will attempt to grab you, sir.
[00:37:46] Speaker C: Buy me a drink first. Good lord.
[00:37:49] Speaker B: So then it is going to to spend its third action to grab you, Granny.
[00:37:56] Speaker C: All right, well you know.
[00:37:58] Speaker B: So you are grabbed. Your stats should now be adjusted appropriately.
[00:38:03] Speaker C: For being grab it li seng. Your breath stinks. You didn't even buy me a drink before trying to grab me. How dare you? This is so ungentlemanly.
[00:38:13] Speaker B: All right, twin Talon, it is your turn.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: Right. Well I literally think there's only like one thing I can do here. Which one of these has her grabbed? The one to the south. The one to the west.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: The one to the south.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: Perfect. So twintalon is going to make a step action which does not broke opportunity, Sean.
And then he is going to strike the one that has her grabbed.
[00:38:39] Speaker B: All right.
[00:38:40] Speaker A: Cuz it's flat footed.
[00:38:42] Speaker B: So when you. Is this like first edition? When. When I grab someone, I'm also considered grabbed?
[00:38:48] Speaker A: No, but you're in melee reach of Brianna, so you're flat footed to me.
[00:38:52] Speaker B: Oh, okay, gotcha.
[00:38:54] Speaker A: That's the gang up feed I took at 6th level, which you didn't like.
[00:38:58] Speaker B: Oh, that's right.
[00:39:02] Speaker C: It's all coming back to you now.
[00:39:06] Speaker A: So that's a 33 against his flat foot ac.
[00:39:08] Speaker B: Or it's flat footed ac that will critically hit.
[00:39:12] Speaker A: Ooh, I can't wait to use this thing we're allowed to do. So I'm gonna draw two.
So it's either missing ear or parrying strike.
I'm gonna take parrying strike because missing ear does normal damage and they take negatives to charisma checks.
[00:39:32] Speaker B: So no, not really a problem with these people.
[00:39:37] Speaker A: Yeah.
And parrying strike does double damage. And I get a plus two bonus to AC until the end of my next turn.
[00:39:45] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:39:46] Speaker A: So he takes. Man, my damage is garbage today.
[00:39:49] Speaker B: It really is.
[00:39:51] Speaker A: Yeah. 1123.
So he takes 26 damage from that attack. Okay, he's still up.
[00:40:01] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:40:02] Speaker A: Okay, then I will attack him again. 25.
[00:40:07] Speaker B: 25 will just regular hit.
[00:40:10] Speaker A: Okay. For 21 damage.
[00:40:13] Speaker B: Wow. Why did you roll that for double damage?
[00:40:16] Speaker A: I wish.
[00:40:18] Speaker B: I don't.
Do you have any other actions you'd like to do, sir?
[00:40:22] Speaker A: That's three.
[00:40:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Brianna, your grab.
[00:40:26] Speaker C: So let's. Let's take it back a moment. Because my brain, for whatever reason, is remembering first edition grapple chart.
[00:40:33] Speaker B: Oh, God.
[00:40:34] Speaker C: What can I. Yeah, right, right. Nightmares right there. But I don't fully remember second edition that hasn't been burned in my brain quite yet. So what all can I do while grabbed other than free myself?
[00:40:50] Speaker B: I'm guessing when you are grabbed, you are held in place by another creature giving you the flat footed and immobilized conditions. If you attempt to manipulate action while grabbed, you must succeed at a DC 20 or. Sorry, DC five. Flat check. Or it is lost. So when you are immobilized, you can't use anything with the move trait.
[00:41:13] Speaker C: Hmm. I'm trying to think, like, logically.
[00:41:17] Speaker B: Break the grapple.
[00:41:19] Speaker C: Mm hmm. So if I'm looking at this cinematically, I feel like it's like, hoisting her up, but her arms are like, pinned against its chest or face or whatever, so I can see her, like, trying to at least free an arm to, like, punch it and then break free sort of thing. That's what I'm imagining.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah, whatever.
[00:41:42] Speaker B: You see.
[00:41:43] Speaker A: Well, do you have to use an unarmed strike, or can you use a one handed weapon when you're grappled?
[00:41:49] Speaker B: As long as it doesn't have a manipulate faggot, you should be fine.
[00:41:55] Speaker C: How about the cinder claw gauntlet that I'm wearing?
[00:41:58] Speaker A: Yeah, sure.
[00:41:59] Speaker B: Yeah, that works too.
[00:42:02] Speaker C: All right, so Brianna will kind of try and push back slightly to give herself a little bit of leeway, pull her her fists back, and strike at the Sabazan with a 33.
[00:42:15] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:42:16] Speaker B: Yeah. You don't know how nice it is.
[00:42:18] Speaker C: How nice?
[00:42:19] Speaker B: Draw two crit cards.
[00:42:20] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:42:21] Speaker B: Ey.
[00:42:23] Speaker C: Let'S see. Let's see what we got. The first one's called breathless. The target is fatigued.
Nighty night. Normal damage. Crit effect. The target falls unconscious and can't wake up until the end of its next turn.
Hmm.
I kind of like that one. Yeah, just bonks. And not just lights out.
[00:42:49] Speaker A: Lights out. That's awesome. It's a great visual.
[00:42:52] Speaker C: It really is. Right?
Artists out there, please.
[00:42:56] Speaker A: Grabs her, and Twintelle runs up, tries to stab him a bunch of times. Let her go. British. Clocks him right across his face, passes out.
[00:43:06] Speaker B: That would break the grapple too, by the way.
[00:43:08] Speaker C: Heck yes.
[00:43:09] Speaker B: All right, so you smack him for how much damage? Normal damage. But. But you still do damage.
[00:43:17] Speaker C: Oh, right, I forget that's a thing. Normal damage? Yeah. Twelve damage.
[00:43:22] Speaker B: Okay. And the sabbaths you go as it falls unconscious, as you hear a thickening crack, as you punch his head.
[00:43:34] Speaker C: Whoops. See, this is why you have to make sure you take meth for a drink before grabbing me. Goodness. I guess she'll strike again, kind of give a little bit of leeway.
I'm imagining now that she and twin Talon are fighting back to back.
[00:43:51] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:43:52] Speaker C: Did she drop her scimitar? I'm trying to imagine.
[00:43:55] Speaker B: No, not at all. It was a bear hug, basically.
[00:43:58] Speaker C: Okay, 21.
[00:44:00] Speaker B: That will hit.
[00:44:01] Speaker C: Excellent for a 19 points of damage.
[00:44:05] Speaker B: Sorry.
[00:44:06] Speaker C: 18 because it's not disrupting.
[00:44:08] Speaker B: Well, not only did you punch its lights out, you chop its head off.
[00:44:13] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:44:14] Speaker C: That's what I thought. And for my very last action, I raise my shield.
[00:44:19] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:44:26] Speaker C: Guys, I'm doing it.
[00:44:27] Speaker A: I'm so proud of you.
[00:44:29] Speaker B: Knife, sword, it is your turn.
[00:44:32] Speaker D: All right, I'm going to freeze ray.
[00:44:40] Speaker B: I'm sorry, you're going to what?
[00:44:43] Speaker D: Freeze ray. I mean, they call it chilling darkness, but, you know.
[00:44:47] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:44:51] Speaker D: This guy next, next to double nail some whatever.
[00:44:59] Speaker B: All right, make your attack roll.
So a 35 will critically hit.
[00:45:07] Speaker A: Ooh.
[00:45:08] Speaker B: And I am terrified because of spell criticals, intense strike.
[00:45:15] Speaker D: The attack ignores all resistances.
[00:45:18] Speaker B: And if it doesn't say anything else, it always does double damage.
[00:45:22] Speaker D: The target is pushed up to 10ft and knocked prone.
That's. Does it do that in addition to.
[00:45:28] Speaker B: The spell and double spell effect and double damage? Yes.
[00:45:33] Speaker D: Okay. Critical success. The target takes double damage up to 10ft. Back in knocks.
[00:45:39] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:45:40] Speaker D: All right.
[00:45:42] Speaker C: He's kind of terrifying.
[00:45:44] Speaker B: Oh, he does 28 points of damage and this Sabbath sand flies back into a tree and just slumps down dead.
[00:45:54] Speaker C: Okay, um. This is how we do it.
[00:45:58] Speaker D: What? He wasn't celestial, was he? Because it would be another five d six of evil damage on top of it.
[00:46:05] Speaker C: Jesus.
I'm.
[00:46:07] Speaker A: What's happening?
[00:46:11] Speaker C: Apparently he can do evil damage. How do I feel about this?
Who have we picked up? I don't know.
[00:46:21] Speaker B: You have one more action left. Knife, sword.
[00:46:25] Speaker D: I'll just hurl a magic missile with the other guy.
[00:46:28] Speaker C: Okay.
Those are always a little fucked up through the end.
[00:46:32] Speaker B: It's perfect.
[00:46:33] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:46:33] Speaker C: Right.
[00:46:34] Speaker B: Or four points of damage. Saraya, it is your turn.
[00:46:40] Speaker C: I'm gonna use my. My fun new weapon here. Oh, yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna use a flight bomb because I made a couple this morning while I was getting ready and I just see what it does. Curl puts on her mascara, makes blight bombs on a good day's work. I love it. Hell yeah. Does a 24 hit?
[00:47:01] Speaker B: A 24 will hit.
[00:47:03] Speaker C: Beautiful. Yes.
So it's 286 poison plus two d four, which I think is persistent. And two splash.
[00:47:14] Speaker B: So you deal 14 points of damage and now it is taking two d four persistent poison on its turn.
[00:47:22] Speaker C: Yes. And then.
[00:47:24] Speaker B: Oh yeah, you still have two more actions.
[00:47:29] Speaker C: Then I'm gonna hit it with fire.
[00:47:30] Speaker A: Because I can chill it with fire.
[00:47:33] Speaker C: I'm hoping.
Yes.
[00:47:35] Speaker B: 29 will regular. No, that hit.
[00:47:42] Speaker C: Yes.
Let me see what my options are.
Alrighty, so let's see numbers 24 and 23 slowed. Two for one round. Let's see about that. Or doomed. Slowed, slowed, one for one round and doomed one. Darn it. Nothing that fun.
[00:48:04] Speaker B: And double damage.
[00:48:05] Speaker C: Well, yeah, we'll do. We'll do slow two, but it's also taking 30 fire damage.
[00:48:11] Speaker B: Oh, oh.
One more one. One more action if you'd like.
[00:48:20] Speaker D: I do magic missile it.
[00:48:23] Speaker C: You know what? I'm gonna. Oh my gosh, you have something equivalent. Yeah, I'm gonna telekinetic projectile it cuz I can.
[00:48:32] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:48:33] Speaker C: And I feel like the crit fail for that because it's gonna be. My first attack is gonna be not as bad as a bomb. So I'm just gonna like, you know, like a rock on the floor or like, you know, if they had weapons and they dropped it, I'm just gonna.
[00:48:45] Speaker B: Like, sure that will hit.
[00:48:52] Speaker C: This is the best turn I've ever had for 17 damage.
[00:48:57] Speaker D: Holy.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: Thank you for the sabbath san is dead.
[00:49:05] Speaker A: Nice. Yes.
[00:49:07] Speaker C: Yay. Yes.
[00:49:09] Speaker B: Wow, you guys.
Wow. Okay.
[00:49:15] Speaker D: All right.
[00:49:17] Speaker C: Level eight, baby.
[00:49:19] Speaker B: Great. I'm gonna take that level away from you guys.
[00:49:22] Speaker C: No, no.
[00:49:23] Speaker A: Okay. None of that.
[00:49:27] Speaker C: No take backsies.
[00:49:28] Speaker B: No take backsies. All right, that's fine.
You've cleared out this pillar very quickly.
[00:49:38] Speaker C: Mm hmm.
[00:49:40] Speaker B: You guys did that in two rounds. I'm. Wow. Okay.
[00:49:44] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:49:45] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:49:46] Speaker B: That was kind of 6 seconds. Those sabbath sands are gone, guys.
[00:49:52] Speaker C: We're like piranhas.
[00:49:54] Speaker B: So once again, you all find the camp that Renali has set up for you. You rest for the evening. You wake up the next morning.
Which direction are you going?
[00:50:07] Speaker C: Home. I mean, wherever we supposed to.
[00:50:11] Speaker A: So I would say southeast, if we can go across the river there.
[00:50:15] Speaker B: All right.
[00:50:16] Speaker D: I think we should go down.
[00:50:18] Speaker A: Down southeast, like, into the ground, down.
[00:50:22] Speaker D: On your paper, right?
[00:50:24] Speaker A: Yeah, we're gonna go down right.
[00:50:25] Speaker B: Okay. So you head down right on the paper. You cross the river, you, Oregon trail. Cocked the wagon and floated across.
[00:50:35] Speaker A: There it is.
[00:50:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:50:36] Speaker C: Yeah, there it is.
[00:50:36] Speaker B: There you go.
You cock the wagon and float it again. Renali gets you to the other side. It's uneventful over here. Here the trees provide nice coverage and you can rest, focus, and regain all of your hit points and spells back.
[00:50:53] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:50:53] Speaker B: There's even a little bit of food that she's brought with you, so you don't have to eat rations. You can eat some fresh caught wild game, cool rats. You wake up the next morning, where are you headed?
[00:51:07] Speaker C: Waffles. What?
[00:51:08] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:51:08] Speaker A: So the next morning, if we didn't find anything here, I would go straight south or straight down. Sorry, seagull teeth. Straight down on the map.
[00:51:17] Speaker B: You head straight down on the map again. It seems like a lot of the things that may have been around here, it looks like it's been cleaned out. There's actually even less like creatures that you would expect to see right running underfoot and all that.
It's almost as if they've been eaten or picked clean from this area. But no large game, no small game. It's very uneventful. Very quiet, too.
[00:51:48] Speaker C: We're getting close, I think. I don't like this quietness. I don't like the idea what this pillar is going to do.
[00:51:55] Speaker A: Maybe too quiet.
[00:51:57] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:52:01] Speaker D: Maybe three quiet could be. Very well.
[00:52:04] Speaker A: Could be.
[00:52:09] Speaker B: So again, you rest for the night. You wake up.
Which direction are you going to head the next morning?
[00:52:17] Speaker A: Well, we're directly next to one of these dragon pillars here, so I say we go southeast downright to deal with it.
[00:52:27] Speaker C: I agree.
[00:52:28] Speaker B: You head down right to the last dragon pillar marked on your map.
[00:52:34] Speaker A: Oh, so, so much good completionism.
[00:52:40] Speaker C: Yeah, right.
All those quest markers gone.
[00:52:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:52:45] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:52:47] Speaker B: And as you approach, I'm going to read some of my favorite things. Things in all of Pathfinder.
Box text. I love box text.
This crumbling stone temple juts out from where the forest has grown around it. Sinister towers partially collapsed, but once carved in, the shapes of grimacing dragons provide support for the cracked walls. A flickering red light pulsates from within the hollow of the central room tower. As you approach, you see.
[00:53:30] Speaker A: Oh shit.
[00:53:31] Speaker C: Yo. Okay, let's go home.
[00:53:33] Speaker B: A large creature slither out from a corner.
[00:53:43] Speaker A: That is a huge creature.
[00:53:44] Speaker B: That is a huge, huge creature. It has a long serpentine body with large bat like wings.
And you guys can deal with that.
[00:53:56] Speaker C: Oh no.
[00:53:57] Speaker B: Next week.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: Thank goodness.
[00:53:59] Speaker C: Do it.
[00:54:00] Speaker A: Why don't we get to live another week? It's fine. Also, I miss Pond Watcher.
[00:54:04] Speaker C: Oh yes.
