All right, I have rambled on enough. We have a new character to meet. We have adventures to go on. We have a dragon pillar to deal with. Let's see what happens in this episode. Welcome to the 64th episode of the Crack Die podcast. [00:02:45] Speaker B: All right, I think we have a new friend. [00:02:48] Speaker A: We do. New friends. [00:02:51] Speaker B: Woohoo. Gotcha. [00:02:54] Speaker C: Hello. [00:02:59] Speaker B: Welcome to the shit show. Yep. [00:03:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Would you like to introduce yourself? No is not an option on this answer. By the way. [00:03:08] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Rob. My hobbies include crochet. Yeah, yeah, baking. [00:03:16] Speaker B: Wait, no shit. Like, I totally crochet all the time anyway. [00:03:20] Speaker D: I don't know how to crochet. [00:03:25] Speaker A: What? Here's an important question. What are your pronouns that you would like us to use? [00:03:29] Speaker D: Him. He. That. [00:03:31] Speaker A: Okay, fair enough. So welcome. Rob, you had the luxury of listening to the last episode that we recorded, which I expected them to come in a different way to just to like, talk to you right away, but nope, not at all. Didn't happen that way. [00:03:50] Speaker E: I'm sorry, do you actually expect us to do what you want to do? Sean, I think you've known us by now. [00:03:57] Speaker C: Also, it's not like we discussed it ahead of time, and you're like, there's going to be a guy here, and if you talk to him, we were caught off guard. I mean, it's an audio recording. We can't see anybody. [00:04:07] Speaker E: That's true. [00:04:08] Speaker A: Well, welcome, Rob. Thank you for joining us on this. [00:04:11] Speaker D: Oh, thank you for having me. [00:04:12] Speaker B: I'm very excited to get to know knife sword better. [00:04:16] Speaker F: Ah, yes. Knife sword. [00:04:20] Speaker D: Single teeth, the most terrifying name ever. [00:04:23] Speaker B: I can promise you Saraya is never gonna say it that way. [00:04:29] Speaker C: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast, all. [00:04:32] Speaker G: Heroes deal with the fallout of losing two party members. After dealing with that, they decide to head back in and save Renali. After they save Renali, they discover a new helper in one of the sick beds. With this new party member. Will our heroes survive? Will they be able to complete their tasks now that there are only four of them? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:05:00] Speaker A: When we last left, you were interrogating this violent prisoner named Knife Sword. Darksider. [00:05:09] Speaker C: Nope. [00:05:11] Speaker A: Seagull teeth. [00:05:12] Speaker B: Ebony Raven. Darkness. [00:05:14] Speaker E: I think what he wants. [00:05:15] Speaker C: I believe his middle name is Dark Hole. [00:05:18] Speaker B: No, sorry, it's dark hole. [00:05:21] Speaker A: There you go. [00:05:24] Speaker D: The scarier. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Who was pretending to be dead so he didn't have to go back into the hole to mine some more. [00:05:35] Speaker E: Makes sense. That's a smart plan. [00:05:37] Speaker F: Bad. [00:05:37] Speaker A: You also save Ranuli, also known as Renali, if I'm gonna pronounce it properly. [00:05:43] Speaker B: And why start now? [00:05:45] Speaker A: Seriously, Denver, the Mokole membebe destroyed a bunch of boggarts, so let's pick up there. [00:05:53] Speaker E: So, hmm. Knife's. [00:05:57] Speaker F: You're gonna go to the hole if you don't go dead. [00:06:00] Speaker B: Well, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but almost everyone else around here is already dead. [00:06:04] Speaker F: Yeah. Cause they don't want to go in the hole. [00:06:06] Speaker B: No, I mean, look around. There's no more guards. There's no more frog things. Did you not notice the dinosaur just trampling by? [00:06:12] Speaker F: Look, I didn't get much sleep last night because some dumb brained marsh breathed. Somebody was screaming out in the jungle, hey. [00:06:24] Speaker B: Started in the morning. [00:06:33] Speaker E: I don't know if I'm going to like him. So how does one come about having such a colorful name, friend? [00:06:44] Speaker F: It's terrifying. [00:06:47] Speaker E: I'm guessing you picked it yourself. [00:06:49] Speaker F: Then it was bestowed on me by a wise person. [00:06:55] Speaker B: Okay. [00:06:55] Speaker E: I'm hoping we'll have that conversation when we're not in the middle of and the me camp. [00:07:01] Speaker C: Makes sense to me. Yeah. We should continue the murdering and dragon pillar destroying and then get out of here. I don't want to just hang out. And maybe we'll take Seagull teeth here with us if he wants to go. Or you can stay and keep mining. [00:07:16] Speaker E: I guess we should probably help miners if everybody is in this zone. [00:07:22] Speaker F: I'm with you. [00:07:22] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:23] Speaker F: But if the guards come back, you go in the hole first and I'm dead. [00:07:28] Speaker E: We will tell you. [00:07:29] Speaker C: That is only fair. [00:07:30] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Come on now. [00:07:34] Speaker C: At that point, twins. Allen's gonna go check on Denver, make sure he's okay. [00:07:37] Speaker A: Yep. He's, uh. He's done the pet thing where he's kind of flopped down and is licking his tail. [00:07:43] Speaker C: Like, licking the blood off of it. [00:07:45] Speaker A: Yes. [00:07:45] Speaker B: I mean, he did wipe out a couple people with it. It's okay. While you're lying down, Jasper comes and lands on you. Jasper is a crow who looks like he's made out of like, weird leather suede plant combination pink and fleshy where he shouldn't be, and he just. In your face, Seagull. [00:08:02] Speaker E: No. Get away. Seagull. Stop it now. [00:08:07] Speaker B: Not a seagull. Jester is a noble raven. Don't insult him. [00:08:12] Speaker F: Same shape as Seagull. [00:08:13] Speaker B: He flies back. And lens and lens and serrates. Hair. [00:08:19] Speaker E: That may be best. [00:08:21] Speaker B: Okay, let's go to the treeline. [00:08:24] Speaker C: Yeah. Speaking of waxing her bird, what do we see in the hole? [00:08:30] Speaker F: Wow. [00:08:32] Speaker C: What's going on? [00:08:35] Speaker D: I don't think I'm old enough to be here. [00:08:41] Speaker A: Oh, earning that explicit tag today? Yes. All right, so you peer over the edge of the hole, do we? I thought you were asking what was going on in the hole. Am I just. Did I. Did I have a stroke? [00:08:59] Speaker C: It's possible. [00:09:01] Speaker B: Well, that's what we said we wanted to do, was go investigate the pit. [00:09:05] Speaker C: Yeah, that and that outbuilding that Hazel told us about. [00:09:08] Speaker B: Oh, yes. [00:09:09] Speaker E: So wait, before we go look at the hole, are knife swords hands. [00:09:13] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:14] Speaker E: After drinking the potion, like, is he back to full? [00:09:17] Speaker A: Yes. You heard a sickening pop snap as the bones kind of shift back into place. [00:09:23] Speaker B: Snap, crackle, pop. Goblin knuckles. [00:09:24] Speaker C: Gross. [00:09:25] Speaker A: Yep. [00:09:26] Speaker C: It's a new breakfast cereal. [00:09:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:28] Speaker A: So he is fatigued still. And he will lose that after a full night's rest. [00:09:35] Speaker B: Right. [00:09:35] Speaker A: He has sickened one. [00:09:37] Speaker B: I assume he can just puke. That up? [00:09:38] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:09:39] Speaker A: Yeah. And he has wounded one. Brutal. [00:09:46] Speaker F: Sorry. [00:09:47] Speaker E: No, it's okay. It's good to let it out. [00:09:50] Speaker D: I remember just a bunch of yellow rocks. [00:09:53] Speaker C: Is it rocks? [00:09:53] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:09:54] Speaker C: What is that? [00:09:56] Speaker E: Trying to remember if Brianna can treat wounds. [00:09:59] Speaker C: Yeah. If you have a medicine check. [00:10:01] Speaker A: It's a medicine check. [00:10:02] Speaker C: You can do a medicine check. [00:10:03] Speaker E: How about I clean some of these scrapes off while we're at it before we continue forward? How's 28? [00:10:09] Speaker C: Nice. [00:10:10] Speaker A: That will succeed. Since he's already fully healed, we're just. [00:10:14] Speaker E: Going to remove the wounded condition. That's. That's what I was hoping for more than anything else, just at least to remove something. And I'm hoping the second condition also went since he hooked it up. [00:10:24] Speaker A: Yes. The only thing that is still around is fatigued, but that only. That will last until a nice night's rest. [00:10:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:32] Speaker F: With no screaming. [00:10:34] Speaker E: I cannot promise anything. Okay. [00:10:39] Speaker A: Are you guys headed down to the hole, or are you going to go investigate the building that you were told about? [00:10:45] Speaker C: I would. So I think maybe if there are any resources in that building we can use them on, when we attack the creatures in the hole and take out the dragon pillar. [00:10:53] Speaker B: Yes, I think that would be the best way to go. [00:10:56] Speaker E: What are we doing about these poisoned enemies here? Are we just leaving them to die slowly and painfully? [00:11:02] Speaker C: Well, I mean, they may recover. Who's to say? But I take no pleasure in killing a dying enemy. [00:11:09] Speaker E: As much as I would want to remove pain from them, it is dishonorable to slit their throat or what have you, without them be able to defend themselves. [00:11:19] Speaker A: You made a medicine check earlier on these guys, and you know, if they're not treated, they are going to die. Also, knife, sword. You've seen enough people be brought out to these beds that never come back. So it's the beds. [00:11:36] Speaker E: Clearly, it's the beds. It's bad. [00:11:38] Speaker B: Possibly, yeah. Also, if he does need to make any more arsenic checks, do not forget he has plus one. [00:11:45] Speaker D: I'm gonna. I'm gonna run up to the guy that was next to me and cast, stabilize. Will that help? [00:11:50] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. I mean, so basically, right now, they're poisoned. Stabilizing. Will they? [00:11:56] Speaker F: Will? [00:11:56] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, they'll stay unconscious and start to slowly heal. It'll help them, but they need serious medical attention. [00:12:04] Speaker B: Oh, hang on. Let me. I thought we had some antidotes. Cause I was going to reverse engineer them. [00:12:13] Speaker C: Did you already do that? [00:12:14] Speaker B: Antidote. Lesser. We have two. We can straight up give seagull teeth an antidote. [00:12:19] Speaker A: Seagull teeth is fine. It's the rest of the people in the bed. [00:12:24] Speaker D: I'm just gonna go down to the cantrip. I'm just gonna go down and do each one of them. [00:12:27] Speaker A: Okay? Yeah, it'll definitely help them. It won't cure them of anything, but it won't hurt them. It'll probably prolong their life and make better for them. So. Okay, so you walk down the line. Casting. Stabilize. It hurts your hands a little bit, but it works. Guys, this is the first time you've had an arcane character. [00:12:47] Speaker B: Yeah, no, it's awesome. [00:12:50] Speaker C: Oh, a fellow mage in the first game without a divine caster. [00:12:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, last game was. [00:12:59] Speaker C: Right, right. [00:13:00] Speaker A: Brianna's kind of divine, right? [00:13:03] Speaker C: Sure. [00:13:03] Speaker E: Yeah. Divine enough, I guess. [00:13:05] Speaker B: But it's so lovely to have another mage. What's your focus? [00:13:09] Speaker F: What? What? What? [00:13:10] Speaker B: We haven't had another meat in the party. What's that magic. Like, what you were just doing? [00:13:15] Speaker F: Hmm? [00:13:16] Speaker B: Never mind. [00:13:16] Speaker F: Oh, I just wanted them to feel better. [00:13:19] Speaker B: All right, never mind. Let's go. [00:13:21] Speaker E: Can we just take a moment to. To think how adorable knife sword is that even though these horrible people may have, you know, broken his hands or whatnot, he would still just, like, help them stabilize. [00:13:34] Speaker B: Well, I mean, I assume these are people who are down in the pit with him who may not have directly abused him so much. [00:13:40] Speaker E: Yeah, I mean, I don't think treat wounds would do anything because I don't have, like, a heal spell I can do, so. Sorry, but that is very noble of you. Knife sword. Well done. [00:13:50] Speaker F: Don't know if it actually works, but, you know, power of non negative thinking. [00:13:56] Speaker A: And thus the secret was born. [00:14:00] Speaker B: Shall we move on? [00:14:01] Speaker E: Probably is for the best. [00:14:03] Speaker C: So we are creepety creeping around to the northeast. [00:14:07] Speaker A: Okay. [00:14:07] Speaker C: At least that's what Twinthal is doing to see if you can check out this hut. And did Hesel say there was some, like she said, like a secret stash in it? Is that what I remember? [00:14:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:14:19] Speaker A: So as you round the corner, a wooden hut stands to the eastern edge of the mining pit. Wafts of smoke rise from a single chimney in its north wall. West of the hut is a wooden table on which several objects lie obscured under a leather covering. A bin of rocky refuse sits beside the table. South of the hut, a 15 foot diameter magic circle has been dug into the ground, grooves filled with dull gray metal and adorned at each point with stubs of burnt out candle. [00:14:51] Speaker B: Can I make an arcana check on that? [00:14:53] Speaker A: Yes, you may. [00:14:54] Speaker B: Are you kidding? [00:14:55] Speaker E: Oh, no. [00:14:56] Speaker A: So, um, you're pretty sure that this circle is a summoning circle used to conjure dinosaurs. Adam. [00:15:09] Speaker D: I'm also gonna make an arcana check. [00:15:12] Speaker B: Yes, please say, like, as cool as that sounds, Christine knows she got a natural one, so she's dubious. [00:15:19] Speaker A: Perfect. Great. So with your 25, you look at it, and you can tell that it was used to summon demons. [00:15:25] Speaker E: Oh, geez. [00:15:26] Speaker A: Uh, such as the vrox, but it is now inert. [00:15:30] Speaker F: That's a pretty design. I bet you. I bet. I bet it would make a really bad person show up. [00:15:36] Speaker E: What sort of bad person? [00:15:37] Speaker F: Um, like. Like rock, but with a v. Oh, like a. [00:15:42] Speaker E: Like a vrock. [00:15:43] Speaker F: I've never heard of that before. [00:15:46] Speaker B: Oh, we had to fight a whole bunch. But I'm also fairly certain that, um, you know, we might have gotten Denver out of it, so I don't know how bad it would be all around. [00:15:53] Speaker E: Bittersweet, I would say. [00:15:55] Speaker F: I'll lick it. Yeah. [00:15:57] Speaker E: No, no, no, don't do that. No. Oh, no, he's already gonna. [00:16:05] Speaker F: Sulfury. [00:16:07] Speaker A: Tastes like lead. [00:16:10] Speaker B: From arsenic poisoning to lead poisoning. [00:16:13] Speaker F: Heavy metal. Metal, which is very heavy. Yeah. [00:16:18] Speaker E: Sorry. Do you have any more of those potions handy just in case? I have a terrible feeling he's going to be leaking everything. [00:16:24] Speaker B: Yes, I can procure them as needed. [00:16:27] Speaker E: Okay. [00:16:30] Speaker A: So you can either go examine the table if you want, go into the building. [00:16:35] Speaker C: Is there a table outside? [00:16:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:36] Speaker C: Where? [00:16:37] Speaker B: To the north. [00:16:39] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [00:16:40] Speaker A: Near where the spiders are still feasting on rocks. [00:16:44] Speaker B: You know what? They deserve it. We gave it to them to do that. [00:16:47] Speaker E: Is Renali still with us? [00:16:49] Speaker A: Yes, I'm just not moving her. [00:16:50] Speaker E: Okay. Just making sure, since she has an affinity to spiders. Correct. [00:16:54] Speaker A: Yes. You see a small leather pouch on the table? [00:16:57] Speaker C: Okay. [00:16:58] Speaker B: I investigate the pouch, looking for either legitimate material components or what I would consider material components. [00:17:06] Speaker A: Uh, you. Fine. A dozen gold nuggets. [00:17:11] Speaker B: Oh, shall we put this with the rest of the coins? [00:17:14] Speaker C: Sure. Yeah, I can put it in there. [00:17:16] Speaker F: Don't eat the yellow rocks. [00:17:18] Speaker C: Thank you. Knife. Sword. [00:17:19] Speaker A: Matt? [00:17:19] Speaker C: Yes? [00:17:20] Speaker A: Give me a fortitude save. [00:17:22] Speaker E: Oh, no. [00:17:23] Speaker C: I assume she's handing me a bag. I don't think she's handing me, like, the rocks themselves. [00:17:27] Speaker A: Okay? [00:17:28] Speaker B: I mean, if anyone had their hand in the bag, it would be me. [00:17:30] Speaker A: Give me a fortitude save, then. [00:17:32] Speaker B: Is this poison in any way? I have poison. [00:17:35] Speaker A: Yes, it is. [00:17:36] Speaker B: All righty. [00:17:37] Speaker A: Oh, you have poison resistance. Five, three. Okay, you're fine. Okay, as you touch it, you feel that these gold nuggets are tainted and laced with arsenic. [00:17:48] Speaker B: Oh. Hmm. Well, now I see why all of them might be getting sick. There's certainly is arsenic, even in the gold itself. [00:17:55] Speaker E: What? [00:17:56] Speaker A: I don't twintallen. Can you give me a recall knowledge check using society? [00:18:04] Speaker C: Absolutely. That is a skill of which I am trained. That's a natural 20 for 32. [00:18:11] Speaker E: Yes. [00:18:11] Speaker A: Awesome. So you remember the gold you got back at the Ikuji camp? [00:18:16] Speaker C: That bar that was by the. [00:18:17] Speaker A: Yup. [00:18:18] Speaker C: The unfinished. [00:18:18] Speaker A: It didn't feel so great. But after you touched. [00:18:21] Speaker C: Yep. [00:18:21] Speaker A: That was also laced with arsenic. So you know that it came from this mine. [00:18:25] Speaker D: Okay. [00:18:25] Speaker C: Makes sense since the cinder claws were the ones that left it. [00:18:28] Speaker A: Yep. [00:18:28] Speaker B: It would also make sense why they only really wore copper. They didn't wear gold. [00:18:33] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:18:34] Speaker C: The elves you mean. [00:18:34] Speaker A: Yeah. You know that most, almost all of the gold that in this area is probably going to be laced with arsenic tainted. Yep. So I have put that into your group loot sheet and you have a dozen of them. [00:18:47] Speaker B: Dozens of nuggets of tainted gold. [00:18:49] Speaker A: Yep. [00:18:49] Speaker C: Tainted gold. [00:18:52] Speaker A: You also see a scale made of silver. [00:18:57] Speaker C: Yoink. [00:18:58] Speaker B: I was going to add it to my laboratory materials. [00:19:00] Speaker C: Oh sure. [00:19:01] Speaker A: And if you would like to identify it? It's a crafting check. [00:19:05] Speaker B: Don't mind if I do. I swear to fuck if I get a natural one here, I'm be pissed. 35. [00:19:12] Speaker A: You identify the silver merchant scale. It is worth a hundred gold. [00:19:18] Speaker C: Is its worth in its material? [00:19:19] Speaker A: Yes. [00:19:20] Speaker C: Okay, so not in its function so much as the fact that it is silver. [00:19:23] Speaker A: Correct. Okay. [00:19:24] Speaker C: It's gotta be a pretty good status symbol though if like you're a merchant and you have a scale worth 100 gold that you, you know, display to people as you're measuring their. Whatever. [00:19:31] Speaker E: Mm hmm. [00:19:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:32] Speaker B: Why do you think she wants it? She might be a little kooky, but she's still an elf. [00:19:37] Speaker A: There you go. That's what you find outside. [00:19:39] Speaker C: Let's check on the inside. [00:19:41] Speaker E: Brianna's here. At this window? [00:19:42] Speaker A: Yes. [00:19:43] Speaker E: Could she take a peek in? [00:19:44] Speaker A: She can take a peeksie in. [00:19:46] Speaker E: Thanks. [00:19:46] Speaker B: You're welcome. Oh, I definitely am also gonna look. Knife, sword up and down. Just kinda also look to twin Talon again. I assume he has everything. Like should we perhaps outfit our new friend? I'm sure we have plenty of armor from the truecar. That won't fit any of us. [00:19:59] Speaker C: I mean we can I just. Let's check out this. This hut first. [00:20:04] Speaker A: You see some glowing things to the north. You see a torch, a table, a bed. [00:20:09] Speaker B: Looks like Twintalon is already inside. [00:20:11] Speaker E: And twin Talon's already inside. No point in me looking anyway. [00:20:15] Speaker C: Um, yeah, I'm gonna search for any traps in here. [00:20:17] Speaker A: Okay. All right. I know what you rolled. [00:20:20] Speaker C: Great. [00:20:20] Speaker A: Looks pre. Looks pretty, pretty clear. [00:20:23] Speaker C: Okay, I'm trying to look around and be like. Looks it looks. Looks clear. [00:20:26] Speaker A: Let me read the box text. This cozy hut contains a table filled with bottles and glass distillers, a small chair and a dry linen bed. Potions bubble over magical flames. And a chemical smell lingers in the air. [00:20:40] Speaker B: Reminds me of my home set up in the mountains. [00:20:44] Speaker C: So, what did Hazel tell us was here? [00:20:46] Speaker A: Well, she told you that she left some items in hidden under her bed that might be able to help you. [00:20:52] Speaker C: Okay. [00:20:52] Speaker D: Okay. [00:20:53] Speaker C: So Twintal will go look under the bed. That's where she said that they were. [00:20:56] Speaker A: Yep. She you find there in there again. I'm just going to add these to your group loot sheet. You find a greater antidote. A white dragon's breath potion. An elixir of life. Lesser. A grim trophy. [00:21:12] Speaker C: Grim trophy? [00:21:13] Speaker A: Yep. [00:21:14] Speaker C: That an actual, like, specific item? [00:21:15] Speaker A: It is. It's, uh. This talisman comes in many forms. Most often a severed piece of humanoid creature displayed in some gruesome manner. When you activate the trophy, select two targets and compare your intimidation check results to both of their DC's. A striking snare, a traveler's tool, or traveler's any tool. Sorry. And you find another gold nugget that is tainted. [00:21:42] Speaker C: All right, well, I'll carefully pick up the nugget and throw it in with the others. [00:21:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:47] Speaker C: What is an any tool? [00:21:48] Speaker A: Traveler's any tool appears to be an ash rod capped with steel on either end for two actions, you can activate it. You imagine a specific simple tool and the any tool transforms into it. This transforms the wooden portion into any haft and the metal caps into spades, hammerheads, or the like. Allowing the most basic tools, but nothing more complex. You can return this item to its rod form with an interact action. So, basically, if you need. If you need help, this will help you. Like if you're repairing something and you forget your hammer, you can use this. Okay. [00:22:20] Speaker C: Or if we need shovel or something like that. [00:22:21] Speaker A: Shovel? Yeah. [00:22:22] Speaker B: Cool. [00:22:22] Speaker C: Okay. I can dig it. [00:22:26] Speaker B: I'm very curious about the dragon's breath potion. [00:22:30] Speaker A: I thought you would be, uh. Here we go. This liquid contains the blood from a white dragon. For 1 hour after you imbibe the concoction, you can unleash a breath weapon used by that type of dragon. The potency of the breath weapon depends on the potion's type. Based on the age of the dragon whose blood it was used to make this potion. This potion has the trait matching the damage type of the breath weapon. So you get a 15 foot cone of cold. [00:23:02] Speaker B: Okay. [00:23:03] Speaker A: Dealing four d, six cold damage. And each creature in the area must attempt a DC 23 basic reflex. Save after that, you cannot use the breath weapon for one D four rounds. [00:23:15] Speaker B: Is this a magical potion or an alchemical potion? [00:23:19] Speaker A: That is a good. [00:23:20] Speaker B: I'm assuming because it's a potion, it's magical. [00:23:22] Speaker A: Alchemical. Tend to be elixirs, yes. [00:23:24] Speaker E: What's a shame that pond watcher isn't here. [00:23:28] Speaker B: I know, right? [00:23:30] Speaker E: Because he would be all over this nature. [00:23:33] Speaker A: Consumable evocation. Magical potion. [00:23:35] Speaker D: He's gonna detect magic because these tables are glowing. [00:23:38] Speaker A: There's. That's the alchemy brewing and the lights, the fire under them. I wanted to play with the lighting effects. [00:23:48] Speaker B: Are they like magical bunsen burners? Like what. What's going on here? [00:23:51] Speaker A: Essentially, yeah. [00:23:52] Speaker B: Can I upgrade my. My travelers, my traveling alchemy kit with this shit? [00:23:58] Speaker A: Uh, actually, yes, I will say you can. [00:24:02] Speaker D: Are there any potions on the alchemy burner? Like, anything? [00:24:06] Speaker A: No. [00:24:06] Speaker D: Anything going? [00:24:07] Speaker A: No, not yet. Not right now. [00:24:09] Speaker C: Okay, so, uh, seagull teeth. What, uh, what kind of equipment do you typically use? We might have something that we've. We've scavenged that might be of use to you. If you're gonna come with us, get the heat. [00:24:21] Speaker F: Normally I would use something like femur or a nice round pebble, maybe some leaves. [00:24:30] Speaker C: What are. What are you talking about? [00:24:34] Speaker F: What. What do you use? [00:24:36] Speaker C: I use armor. And he'll touch his leather armor and a dog slicer, and he will draw his goblin dog slicer out. [00:24:46] Speaker F: Doesn't that hurt? [00:24:47] Speaker B: Doesn't what hurt? [00:24:47] Speaker C: Tim Town, like, kind of squints his eyes and cocks his head at him for fighting. [00:24:52] Speaker E: Wouldn't you know what this is? [00:24:53] Speaker F: Oh, fighting. Sorry. Yeah. Uh, usually whatever's around, um, bone stick, you know, didn't have much choice. [00:25:02] Speaker B: What else would he use? A femur or a pebble? [00:25:05] Speaker C: I'm thinking something with his butt. [00:25:07] Speaker B: I'd rather not consider that. [00:25:10] Speaker C: Okay. Well, good luck. [00:25:12] Speaker E: Is there anything you would be able to use or want to use within our packs? [00:25:18] Speaker B: I'm sure we have plenty of here. Here is the plus one. Leather armor. That's small, I think. Right? [00:25:25] Speaker A: It is. But here's the thing. Wizard or sorcerers are only trained in unarmored defense. [00:25:33] Speaker B: Oh, he can't wear armor at all? [00:25:34] Speaker C: No, he can. He just doesn't get his bonus, which at 7th level, even being trained is plus nine. So we'd lose plus nine and gain plus one from the armor. [00:25:45] Speaker A: Plus two. [00:25:45] Speaker C: Cause it's plus one, so not a great trait. [00:25:48] Speaker B: Not a great trait, though. Well, let's see what weapons might be. Do you prefer to slice things or bludgeon them? [00:25:53] Speaker F: I've never sliced before. [00:25:55] Speaker E: I'll try that if I fail to do my job. It's good that you are able to defend yourself. [00:25:59] Speaker B: Yes. Well, as much as I adore casting, sometimes you do just have to run someone through. [00:26:03] Speaker F: What run? Wouldn't you, like, stop when you hit them, you know, and follow backwards. [00:26:10] Speaker E: It's going to be a long day. [00:26:11] Speaker C: I think there's some people you're going to want to meet when we get back home. [00:26:15] Speaker B: Oh, yes. Can we avoid introducing him to the one who put out the fire by rolling in it? [00:26:21] Speaker C: I don't think so. I don't see how we could avoid that. [00:26:23] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:26:23] Speaker F: That seems logical. [00:26:24] Speaker E: I feel like they're going to be f. Friends. Yep. [00:26:27] Speaker B: I was trying to whisper that just to the two of them, but it totally also makes sense that he just pops up in the middle and is like, I'm small, people forget I'm here. [00:26:38] Speaker C: The other 20% is ears, 80% mouth. [00:26:42] Speaker B: 20% ears, 0% brain. [00:26:46] Speaker C: What would they need that for? [00:26:48] Speaker B: Exactly. Right. So we actually really don't have. Oh, no, we've got the silver flail. If he wants to bludgeon people, why don't we give him, like, a teaser? [00:26:57] Speaker A: Yeah, you have some daggers. [00:26:59] Speaker B: Or, I mean, you can. I'm sure, Rob, you can also open up our group loot and take a look and claim what you want. [00:27:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:06] Speaker B: But basically, like, Saraya has taken the bag of holding from Twintelle and is rummaging through it. Like, her arm goes all the way up to her shoulder. [00:27:14] Speaker A: She falls in for a second. [00:27:16] Speaker B: Oh, no, there's no oxygen. [00:27:19] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. I like this pointy thing. [00:27:21] Speaker E: Which one's that? Because there's lots and lots of pointy. [00:27:26] Speaker F: The pointy ends, like, the size of my forearm. [00:27:29] Speaker E: Again, lots and lots of pointy things like that. [00:27:32] Speaker B: Or is he. Or is it a dagger because he's tiny. [00:27:35] Speaker D: I pulled out a dagger, the silver dagger. [00:27:39] Speaker F: Shiny. [00:27:41] Speaker B: So I'm just gonna take the. The alchemist fire that's in there, too. [00:27:46] Speaker A: That's fair. [00:27:49] Speaker B: Not saying none of y'all can use bombs. I am saying I am specifically built for that. [00:27:55] Speaker E: Absolutely. [00:27:55] Speaker A: You also have a tangle foot bag in there and a bottle. Bottled lightning. [00:27:59] Speaker F: Oh, jerky. [00:28:00] Speaker B: Why didn't you just pull out? [00:28:01] Speaker A: No, no. [00:28:02] Speaker B: Pull out. That he's considering jerky is it? [00:28:06] Speaker E: The tangled foot bag. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Oh, no, no, no. You don't want to eat your mouth shut. I don't care what you want. [00:28:10] Speaker D: It's a hide armor. He pulled off some hide armor. [00:28:14] Speaker A: He's doing on it. [00:28:17] Speaker E: No, that goes on. [00:28:18] Speaker D: You know what? [00:28:19] Speaker C: Just let him have it. Just let him have it. [00:28:21] Speaker E: Okay, okay. It's chewed up now anyway. [00:28:24] Speaker C: It'll keep them occupied. [00:28:26] Speaker B: Oh, there's three of them in there. There's three alchemist fires. I don't know. [00:28:30] Speaker F: Oh, this is the good stuff. [00:28:32] Speaker B: You know what? If he can live off height, armor. [00:28:35] Speaker E: And broken shoes, then let him be happy, I suppose. [00:28:38] Speaker C: Alright, guys, as much as I'd rather hang out up here than finish this, I think we should go down there and take care of business with that pillar. [00:28:46] Speaker B: I think we should. [00:28:47] Speaker A: All right. [00:28:48] Speaker B: Shall we? [00:28:48] Speaker E: Let's do it. [00:28:49] Speaker A: So, you all start heading towards the ramp down into this mine. You realize Denver cannot make it down this incline because it is too narrow for his large dinosaur like body. [00:29:04] Speaker C: Where. Where is. [00:29:06] Speaker A: I assume that knife sword is in front. [00:29:09] Speaker B: I mean, if he wants, buddy. I just can't imagine he's too willing to run headlong into the well, maybe. [00:29:15] Speaker E: To show us the way. [00:29:16] Speaker F: There's the hole. Remember, I'm dead. [00:29:22] Speaker C: If anybody asks, we'll tell them you're dead. What color is the dragon head? Looks gold. Is that what it is? [00:29:28] Speaker A: It is actually purple. [00:29:30] Speaker C: Purple? Okay. [00:29:31] Speaker A: It is radiating purple smoke out. [00:29:33] Speaker B: That doesn't sound good. [00:29:34] Speaker C: So, seagull teeth. What the. What effects did the dragon pillar. Do you know if it shot out purple anything and hit people with it, or what happened to them? [00:29:45] Speaker F: Okay, so the first thing you got to understand is, I don't know what a dragon pillar is. [00:29:50] Speaker C: Okay, do you see down there? That pillar with a dragon head on it? [00:29:53] Speaker F: Oh, the big stick? [00:29:54] Speaker C: Yes, the big stick with the purple out of it. What. What effects might it have had on the people around it? [00:30:05] Speaker F: Well, when the sun moves across the sky, it gets dark in a certain place, and that place moves. [00:30:14] Speaker C: Interesting. So it casts the shadow. That's good. We know it's not immaterial. [00:30:21] Speaker B: It doubles as a sundial. [00:30:25] Speaker E: Maybe that's all it is, a sundial. [00:30:27] Speaker B: I'd still rather topple it, destroy it, melt it with acid, freeze it. [00:30:32] Speaker E: Oh, certainly. Just in case. [00:30:35] Speaker C: I still am not thrilled about those ram horned alligators with snake shoulders. [00:30:40] Speaker E: I don't know what they're talking about. Do I? [00:30:42] Speaker F: Remember one other thing. If you were, you know, a rock eater, you got too close. Sometimes a not quite red, not quite. Blue line would hit you and you. [00:30:57] Speaker C: Would not move for, like, a long time or a short time, anywhere between. [00:31:03] Speaker A: One to seven rounds. So between three and 30 seconds, roughly. [00:31:10] Speaker F: You know, how long does it take you to, you know, eat a dead cow? Not that long. [00:31:15] Speaker C: Oh, man. Okay. [00:31:18] Speaker E: An entire dead cow. [00:31:20] Speaker B: That's quite, quite the time. [00:31:22] Speaker C: I just feel like goblins are now boa constrictors, according to this goblin. [00:31:27] Speaker B: Either that or, you know, they're piranhas. Piranhas. And they just one for two. [00:31:34] Speaker E: We don't know where he came from, what tribe he's with. [00:31:37] Speaker C: I don't want to meet them. I don't think. [00:31:41] Speaker B: I'm double checking at the moment for how large a cloud my poison smoke bomb generates because I'm wondering if we can't chuck one in there, let it do its thing for three rounds, and then join the fight. [00:31:55] Speaker C: Well, from what I could see, the only way to get out is either climb up the walls or to run around the pit. So I think we would be well served with those of us who have ranged attacks and especially the smoke bombs, stuff like that, to chuck those in there and rile them up. And then Brianna and myself could kind of form a choke point at the top of the ramp. [00:32:19] Speaker E: Certainly I do have a few javelins. I can also throw, if anything, but sure, yeah, that sounds good. [00:32:26] Speaker A: All right, so you guys are going to start attacking down in to the pit. Does that sound about right? [00:32:33] Speaker B: It does. That's what I was against, trying to figure out where, because the fucking thing is like a special thing. It. It's not in the standard place where. [00:32:43] Speaker A: You look for it. Um, well, good news is I'm gonna give you some time to look and figure that out because we're gonna start this combat in like five minutes next week. [00:32:52] Speaker C: Next week. [00:32:54] Speaker E: Damn it, Sean. [00:32:55] Speaker C: It's like you do this to us every week. [00:32:57] Speaker B: I know, right? [00:32:59] Speaker E: We always fall for it. [00:33:01] Speaker C: An hour goes by so fast. [00:33:03] Speaker D: I don't know what you guys are talking about. This has never happened before. [00:33:06] Speaker G: How will our heroes deal with the creatures in the pit? Will knife sword, dark hole, Seagull teeth eat more of their armor? What will this dragon pillar do to them?
