[00:00:38] Speaker A: Hello, hello, hello and welcome to another special .5 episode of the Crack Die podcast. I'm your host and GM, Sean, and, well, what can I say? But I think this one is interesting. Now, I tend to want to give everyone listening and the players who don't know what I put out for these five episodes a chance to listen and get a little more insight on what's going on in the world with some of our more evil, if you will, misunderstood maybe characters that exist. So this will give us insight on a character that we've met multiple times now, I'd say as well as one of the PCs.
I hope you guys really enjoy this. I had a blast writing it. I've really did a lot of research into groups like this and I hope.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: That it comes through.
[00:01:47] Speaker A: So with that, it's time for a classic Sean book plug fest.
It is the holiday season and what better way to celebrate the holidays than supporting your favorite podcast, or at least supporting us, a podcast you listen to? [00:02:35] Speaker A: So if you have joined our Patreon and you have not heard us, thank you. Please, please don't worry. We are generating a new list. It takes some time for us to do that, especially with the craziness of the holidays. Next, I want to say January 2 Absalom and order twitch tv. Crackdie, come join us. Come see what's going on. We finally hit level two. I'm having a blast playing that game and I can't wait to see what's happening.
And lastly, I just want to wish everyone happy holidays. Be safe out there. Be smart. If you are traveling, wear a mask. Be safe, be smart. We want you around to hear the end of the story. So with that, let's head over to the table.
Let's head over to wherever these characters are and see what is going on.
[00:03:54] Speaker B: As the heat blistered in the red stone structure, the voices of the family echoed and reverberated off the walls. The smell of scorched flesh hung heavy in the air. The ceremony was almost complete. Soon he would join as the newest family member, repairing some of the damages that were made trying to get him, the family that was lost that night would never truly be able to be replaced. They were some of his first family he brought in. Their loss would be felt for years. He would need to bring in more talent. But that was for another time. Now he had to finish placing his mark on the man to truly change him from what he was to the potential that he has.
With the last stroke of the heated metal, he finished the brand.
The old man cried out in pain and torment. The rest of the family gathered around, stroking his silver hair, telling him how good this would be, how they had all gone through it, and how it joined them as a family. No one could take this away from them. They were all one now, joined in the pain that this man had lovingly bestowed upon them. With that, the old man with brilliant green eyes smiled and clapped his hands together. Once it is done, he rasped.
[00:05:12] Speaker C: He is now unmistakably a part of this family. He is bound to us, removed from all past attachments and brought into the next level. He will be able to, just like the rest of you, be able to leave these vehicles and ascend to the star stone to join our most senior member in the heavens.
[00:05:35] Speaker B: With that, the group cheers. The old man on the table, once known as Silver, smiles and cheers with them.
[00:05:42] Speaker C: We must now find out his true name, the name that is branded onto his mind.
[00:05:50] Speaker B: More cheers come from the group that surrounds Silver than chanting. As the family around him chants, magical threads of black and red begin to surround him, weaving around his body and forming a magical cloak over him. Silver does not struggle, does not fight it. The magic flows over his body and down his throat. The smell of applesauce and potato wine fills his nostrils. He starts to gasp for air, but none comes. It's as if a bag has been placed over his head. Finally, the magic stops. And there he is in black boots with white markings. His clothes also black, matching the family.
Finally, the old man with the brilliant green eyes walks over and places a purple cloth over his body.
[00:06:38] Speaker C: Now, in a few days, we will find out his new name. For now, let us all retire for a meal together.
Since today is a special day, I and our most senior member have arranged a special meal for you. Turkey pie, some lemonade, and BlackBerry pie for dessert. This is truly a wonderful day that our most senior member has given us.
[00:07:05] Speaker B: With hushed excitement, the group leaves silver on the red stone altar. As the candles dim into darkness, the last gasp of breath escapes silver's lungs. The end of the magical threads struggle against something inside, attempting to escape but not being able to.
[00:07:24] Speaker A: Days pass.
[00:07:26] Speaker B: The magical thread no longer struggles to hold something in. It is now relaxed. As the sun sets, the purple cloth covering the body of the now long dead silver shuffles off. A man dressed in black sits up from the redstone altar, cracks his neck, and swings his legs off the edge of the altar.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: As if waking up from a long sleep.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: He stands. The brand on his lower abdomen glowing red, slightly fades. Then the man once known as silver opens the door and walks out.
[00:08:00] Speaker C: Ah, you are awake.
Pharasma must have really wanted you in the boneyard.
Perhaps you really were worth all this trouble.
Now that you have returned to the land of the well, unliving, what should we call you?
What is the true name that the most senior member has given you?
[00:08:25] Speaker B: The body of silver looks around as if searching for the answer. Finally he croaks out slightly above a whisper.
[00:08:33] Speaker C: Sodie.
Very good, Sodi.
Welcome to the rest of the family.
Now, as you know, I'm sure you must help the rest of the family and eliminate all of your previous previous lives connections.
So what should we do about your friends?
