[00:00:39] Speaker A: Welcome back. Thank you again for downloading and listening to our podcast. We super appreciate it. And I'm just going to keep saying that forever, so thank you. Okay, so today's intro might be a little bit longer than what we're used to, but I wanted to start a series of intros that might help new people to pathfinder or tabletop role playing games in general. Let's talk about the most important tool of a role playing game besides the people dice. Dice are the randomizers of the game. Their luck, their fate, their chance, their misfortune. They're all these things packaged in nice little polyhedral bits of plastic. We use six different dice in this game. We use a four sided die, a six sided die, an eight sided die, a ten sided die, a twelve sided die, and a 20 sided die. Now, we abbreviate that with the letter D, as in die, and then we say a number. So, for example, if I wanted my players to roll a 20 sided die, I would tell them, roll a D 20. It's a little shorthand and it makes life a little bit easier. Now, in this particular game, when you want to find out if something is happening or successful, you generally roll a 20 sided die. So if I ask my players to roll an initiative, I'm asking them to roll a 20 sided die and add the appropriate skill that I'll tell them. Most of the time it's perception, but you've seen examples of stealth or even performance. For Silver, the same thing happens when I ask them to make an attack roll. They roll their 20 sided die, and they add their modifier. After the players roll and they figure out what their total is, I compare it to the numbers or the stats of the monster or whatever they're trying to do. If they roll higher, they succeed. If they roll less than, they fail. All right, I've rambled on way too long about dice and rolling and rules. I'm going to throw it to the table so we can continue our adventure. Welcome to the 6th episode of the Crackdye podcast. My name is Sean. I'm your host and GM, and we are going to jump right back in. But first, we have an announcement from our own Haya. [00:02:50] Speaker B: Yes. As of this afternoon, I'm not going to say which afternoon we're recording in, but we've officially hit 102 downloads. [00:03:01] Speaker A: Yay. So thank you to everyone who has downloaded and subscribed and listened to the show. We really do appreciate it because otherwise. [00:03:10] Speaker C: Paying attention so that I can look up the numbers now. [00:03:12] Speaker A: Yeah. So now this just means we're not screaming into the void. So thank you. Thank you to everyone who has downloaded and listened. And please, if you get a chance to rate and review us is our next step. Please, five stars, please. [00:03:28] Speaker D: When I looked, last looked, which was admittedly like, two weeks ago, it was four five star reviews. So 100%, and that's all that matters. Yeah, to me. But, I mean, I think itunes actually cares how many yes. So if you're a person listening to this podcast and you've not gone on. [00:03:44] Speaker A: Itunes, if you're not a person and you're listening to this podcast and you. [00:03:47] Speaker D: Can get onto itunes, go onto itunes, click the rate review, whatever that button is, I'm not a person. That is itunes, and rate us five stars, because it really does help us out. It helps us get it to the top of those charts. That means other people get to see it. Other people can listen. You can talk to someone else at your job and or family, and they'll know what you're talking about. [00:04:07] Speaker A: This is episode six. Yeah. Excellent. I can count. I can count, guys, I'm so proud of myself. All right, let's jump back in to where we last left off. [00:04:20] Speaker E: Previously on The Crackdye Podcast our heroes encounter the bugbear Yolacha. After a brief misunderstanding, our heroes discuss with Yolacha what has happened to her to drive her into the citadel. After finishing their conversation, our heroes hear screaming from outside. They rush to investigate what happens next. Find out now on the Cracked Die podcast. [00:04:45] Speaker A: So Twin Talon. [00:04:48] Speaker D: That's me. [00:04:48] Speaker A: And pond watcher. [00:04:50] Speaker F: That's me. [00:04:51] Speaker A: Opened the door to a new room. [00:04:55] Speaker D: Which I was pretty sure was an auditorium of some size. [00:04:58] Speaker A: Correct. So you open the door, you're pretty sure it's an auditorium of some type. To the north of many rows of stadium style benches stands a wide dais garbage clutters what was once undoubtedly a pristine floor. A small corridor near the dais leads into the west, while to the north, an iron gate provides a view into the central courtyard. As you enter, you hear the unmistakable sounds of an argument in goblin. I believe that Sareya understands goblin. Does anyone else understand goblin? Nope. Okay, so soraya you hear, let him go. Let him go. And then in a much deeper voice and you hear that from multiple sources, more than one voice. [00:05:46] Speaker B: There's a bunch of goblins freaking out. [00:05:48] Speaker A: Freaking out. And then you hear in back in goblin, tell me how to get there. In a very deep voice. [00:05:57] Speaker B: Okay, so there's a bunch of them. [00:06:00] Speaker G: Asking someone to let someone go. [00:06:03] Speaker A: Where's the dungeon? [00:06:05] Speaker B: We have to intercede now. I will shout up inGoblin, it's up to you. I was going to add my voice to say, let go. [00:06:14] Speaker A: All right. Are you guys doing anything in this room, or are you going to just run through it? [00:06:18] Speaker F: Are there any individuals in this room. [00:06:20] Speaker A: Or is it empty? [00:06:21] Speaker B: So the courtyard, I'm assuming, goes all the way up. Like, it'll go up a couple of floors. Sure. [00:06:25] Speaker D: We know that there's an iron gate at the gate. [00:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah. You can look through. If you move up to that gate, you see that to the west, there is a stagnant pool of water, probably rainwater, that's collected into this area with very poor drainage. And directly across from it, from the gate directly to the north, you see that the wall and some of the stairs have crumbled and fallen to the ground. [00:06:58] Speaker B: But the voices, they're coming from a little higher up, like Pondwatcher and I heard. So I'm actually going to send Jasper to fly up a couple levels. [00:07:05] Speaker A: Okay, so you guys are still in a different room? Yeah. You're not even in the courtyard yet. [00:07:09] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:07:10] Speaker A: You can do stuff in that room unless you want to just run through it and go to the courtyard, which. [00:07:15] Speaker D: Is also great from the tone of the voices. Can I because I don't speak goblin, but I'm in front. [00:07:21] Speaker A: You can tell that there is a conversation. One is definitely more menacing. [00:07:25] Speaker B: Well, I have said to the group, they're asking someone to let him go. It seems someone's being held prisoner or being threatened. [00:07:33] Speaker D: Okay, then. Twin Talon will make his way quickly through the room. He'll do a cursory glance as he goes to make sure there's no bear traps or anything on the ground or priceless artifacts left behind. [00:07:48] Speaker A: Give me actually, I'm going to roll this. Okay, I forget, what is your bonus? [00:07:55] Speaker D: To what? [00:07:55] Speaker A: I'm sorry. Perception plus five. Great. As you are rushing through that room, you notice that there are several crumpled cloth insignias discarded on the ground. [00:08:11] Speaker D: Can I tell what they are? [00:08:12] Speaker A: Yes, if you take a minute to stop and look at them, you see the ring of nails on essentially belt sashes. [00:08:21] Speaker D: It's like a belt sash with the order of the nail the nail insignia on it? [00:08:26] Speaker A: Yep. [00:08:26] Speaker D: Okay, good. I'm just going to keep moving through. I don't see anything of value or danger. [00:08:31] Speaker F: Without taking time, Pondwatcher will run to the iron gate and see if he can open it or lift it or whatever. [00:08:37] Speaker B: Brianna will follow. [00:08:38] Speaker A: Okay. The gate is actually a jar. It looks like it was locked until very recently. [00:08:43] Speaker D: All right, so you've run heedlessly through. [00:08:45] Speaker F: The room so he stops so that he doesn't need to lift a gate and waits. [00:08:48] Speaker A: Okay. Anyone doing anything? Yeah. [00:08:50] Speaker C: So Timid hearing that someone is being held captive against their will, it holds something that he's very much against, so he kind of runs after everyone to see if he can help. [00:09:02] Speaker A: All right, so everyone's at the front. [00:09:03] Speaker H: Errand, I'm just trying to perceive if anything crazy is happening, but I'm in the back. [00:09:08] Speaker B: Surya is trying to hear more to listen. [00:09:10] Speaker A: Okay, it's an argument. Back and forth. Let him go. Tell me how to get to the keep. Where's the dungeon? How do I get there? Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. So I'm assuming you guys open. Run. Continue your pressing to the north. [00:09:25] Speaker F: Let's go. [00:09:26] Speaker A: Okay. A short flight of stairs leads down to an open courtyard surrounded by an imposing octagonal walls. While a heavy iron gate separates it from the hall to the south, which is where you guys are coming through. A few, errant milkweeds and tufts of crab grass protrude from the cracked cobblestore flooring. The ground to the west is sunken in, creating a natural pool of rainwater. To the north, the sunken battlements have partially collapsed into a huge mound of stone and wooden rubble, under which some sort of reptilian creature seems to have been crushed. The top half of the flight of wooden stairs rises up to the battlements above the collapsed section of wall. Broken plants from the bottom half lie amidst the rubble below. A thick rope has been affixed via grappling hook to the lower portion of the stairs, dangling down to within a few feet of the top of the rubble pile. Desperate Shouts And Barking growls continue here, but now their sources seem obvious. The shouts come from the battlements above, where a few goblinoids and a halfling man holding another goblin at knife point can be seen. The man seems to be threatening the goblins, while the goblins look like they're pleading for mercy. The source of the growling, however, is a more greater concern, for it comes from a large draconic beast not far away at ground level, roaring at the delicious but inaccessible prey above. [00:11:00] Speaker D: So there is a roaring coming from inside the courtyard we are currently occupying. [00:11:04] Speaker A: As you run through, as you run towards it, you see what I can only describe as a giant iguana with a dragon like head. I'm going to show you guys the picture. [00:11:14] Speaker B: Don't post it on the website. [00:11:16] Speaker D: Looks like it's blue with red. [00:11:17] Speaker A: Blue and red. Yes. [00:11:19] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that is and unhappy. [00:11:20] Speaker A: And it is at the base of this and it is looking up towards the goblins and Halfling as if it is trying to eat them. So I'm assuming, judging by the way Rich is staring at me, jumping back and forth like he's ready to pounce at the table, we're just going to roll initiative. Does that sound like something we're going. [00:11:43] Speaker F: To, for context, spawn watcher, seeing a draconic being sort of his intelligence seems to fade from his eyes. [00:11:51] Speaker C: Oh, dear. [00:11:52] Speaker A: So not much fate. [00:11:55] Speaker H: Just to be clear, he's actually more intelligent than the champion and the Claire. [00:12:02] Speaker C: Just to be clear. Is he farther? I'm sorry, where are the other two creatures? There are the other creatures, the Halfling. [00:12:08] Speaker D: And the up on the Battleman. [00:12:10] Speaker A: They're up. [00:12:11] Speaker D: There is a grappling hook attached to the stairs here. [00:12:14] Speaker C: Okay, correct. [00:12:15] Speaker D: It's dangling down and it looks like it is trying to get up, but it doesn't have thumbs. [00:12:21] Speaker A: I see. Yeah. [00:12:23] Speaker H: All right. I have rolled my initiative. [00:12:26] Speaker A: All right. [00:12:27] Speaker F: And you said it seems aggressively like. [00:12:29] Speaker A: It looks like it's hungry and it's trying to eat what's above it, but it can't quite get there. All right, we're going to start with Pond Watcher 1919 Temid ten total. Did you roll a 20 sided debt. All right. [00:12:43] Speaker H: Silver, 23. [00:12:45] Speaker A: Brianna 14. Twin Talon 20. [00:12:49] Speaker B: Serea 17. [00:12:51] Speaker A: Silver, you go first. [00:12:52] Speaker H: Okay. So this thing is trying to nip at the rope. [00:12:56] Speaker A: Yes. So the battlements are like a floor above. This thing is short and squat on four legs, and it's like rearing back on its hind legs to try and get up there because it obviously wants to eat the halfling and or goblins. [00:13:13] Speaker H: Okay. [00:13:14] Speaker A: Porque nola stoke. [00:13:17] Speaker H: Can I try to get its intention by trying to intimidate it? [00:13:22] Speaker A: Sure. [00:13:23] Speaker H: Okay. I'm going to yell at it in draconic. [00:13:26] Speaker A: All right. [00:13:28] Speaker H: And I will translate what I say, but I'll say you all look nothing but like a half bred worm between some sort of salamander on the bottom of a crick. [00:13:42] Speaker A: Well, I'm offended, but go ahead and make that roll. [00:13:45] Speaker H: Okay. So that's a oh, nat. 26 total. [00:13:52] Speaker A: All right. So hearing you yell at it, it will stop trying to bite the creatures above. It turn around and face you. [00:14:02] Speaker H: I'm in the very back. [00:14:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, it faces the group. [00:14:05] Speaker D: Face the group. [00:14:06] Speaker A: And it growls more. [00:14:08] Speaker H: Okay. I want to try to climb the rope, but I'm in the kind of afraid it'll attack. Well, no. I'm going to start going around the circumference of this octagonal, octagonal area we're in. Sure. And just going to use my lapse. Two actions to move as far as I can, but a lot. [00:14:30] Speaker A: What's your speed? 20? [00:14:31] Speaker H: I believe it is 20. [00:14:32] Speaker A: Yes. [00:14:32] Speaker H: So 40ft, but hugging the wall as close as possible because I don't want to get killed. [00:14:39] Speaker C: Are you wearing anything that like medium. [00:14:41] Speaker H: Armor or something like that? [00:14:42] Speaker C: I have armor on, but I'm just saying I think base speed is 25 for humans. [00:14:47] Speaker A: Oh, is it? [00:14:49] Speaker C: Right. [00:14:52] Speaker H: I have medium armor. [00:14:54] Speaker A: All right, next up is Twin Talon. [00:14:57] Speaker D: All right. So I'm assuming I see Pond washer like foaming at the mouth. [00:15:03] Speaker A: Yes. [00:15:03] Speaker D: Okay. [00:15:05] Speaker A: That is correct. Next question. [00:15:08] Speaker F: Guilty of all right, he's like twitching. [00:15:11] Speaker C: What's he streaming? Oh, come on. [00:15:15] Speaker A: That was a good one, guys. [00:15:16] Speaker B: That was can't see my face. [00:15:19] Speaker F: Hello, this is Pond watcher and I'm playing minecraft. [00:15:24] Speaker A: Watch out for creepers. [00:15:26] Speaker C: Sure, laugh at his joke, but mine joke, that set it up, didn't I. [00:15:30] Speaker F: Didn'T get your joke for, like, 30 seconds. That's my fault. [00:15:33] Speaker D: It's funnier when you explain it. Okay. [00:15:37] Speaker A: Sorry. Twin allen, what are you doing? [00:15:39] Speaker D: Okay, so I am going to move. Unfortunately, the way the creature is positioned, if I had 30ft of movement, like if this was first edition, I could get around it. But unfortunately I have 25, so I can kind of get around a side and then I will do my thing. [00:15:58] Speaker A: All right. [00:15:59] Speaker H: And Twin Talon. Just stealthily. [00:16:02] Speaker D: So I just ran past it. If it had a reaction which could be triggered by movement, like a fighter's attack of opportunity, you're fine. [00:16:14] Speaker A: Okay. [00:16:16] Speaker D: Shifts to the side. He is going to take a second action to move because I'm assuming Pond Watcher is coming straight at it. So I'm trying to get around its back to set him up. [00:16:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:16:27] Speaker D: So I'm going to move to north feet. [00:16:29] Speaker A: Okay, so you're directly behind the creature now? [00:16:32] Speaker D: Yes, I'm directly between or it is directly between myself and Pond Watcher and he's going to take an attack on it. [00:16:38] Speaker A: Go ahead. [00:16:39] Speaker D: Okay, so my luck in combat continues. I rolled a natural two. [00:16:44] Speaker A: Excellent. [00:16:44] Speaker D: But that could still be a crit fail. So that is a it is flat footed to me because I acted before it. [00:16:50] Speaker A: Correct. [00:16:51] Speaker D: So that is a total of nine. [00:16:54] Speaker A: It is a failure but not a crit failure. [00:16:57] Speaker D: Fair enough. Okay, so I'm back here, pond Watcher usually think I don't look at him. [00:17:04] Speaker F: So Pond Watchers, we all come into the room, he sees a draconic beast of some sort, he starts twitching, he's still holding his toothpick sword and he seems to completely lose his shit for lack of a better word. He enacts his sudden charge class feet to move twice into the enemy and basically sprints full speed into it, swinging his new sword. [00:17:36] Speaker D: And it is flat footed to you. [00:17:38] Speaker A: Because we are wrecking and it hasn't acted yet. [00:17:42] Speaker D: That's only for me. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Oh, that's only that is a class feature. [00:17:45] Speaker D: That is a class feature of rogues. [00:17:47] Speaker A: Or maybe bugbears but right, okay, sorry. [00:17:50] Speaker F: 24. [00:17:52] Speaker A: That will indeed hit wolf. [00:17:55] Speaker F: So he swings down his bastard sword into its scaly hide two handed. Okay, this is the first time, sorry. [00:18:08] Speaker D: It's okay, it happens to a lot of guys. [00:18:11] Speaker F: And he deals twelve slashing damage to its face. [00:18:17] Speaker A: Excellent. And with his third hold on a second buddy, I'm going to trigger a reaction because you're adjacent, correct? [00:18:27] Speaker F: Yes. [00:18:27] Speaker A: And you dealt damage, right? [00:18:29] Speaker F: That is correct sir. [00:18:30] Speaker A: Great. Can you please give me a fortitude save eleven. All right. Not a critical failure, but a failure. You are sickened, sickened one. I don't know what that means as a nauseous green mist comes spewing forth from this creature's mouth EW. And actually hits a 15 foot cone. So let me make sure he's the only one. [00:19:06] Speaker C: Oh fudge. [00:19:07] Speaker D: Our mouse is 15ft. [00:19:09] Speaker C: I'm just out like by you're all. [00:19:13] Speaker F: So what happens? It spews some sort of viscous fluid? [00:19:16] Speaker A: No, it just burps in your yeah, essentially it burps in your mouth. [00:19:21] Speaker C: It's like a noctrius gas. [00:19:21] Speaker F: So Pond Watcher swings with a sword that all sprays onto him. [00:19:25] Speaker A: What does sickened do by the way? [00:19:27] Speaker F: Sickened? Sickened one is a status penalty that makes me take a minus one to all checks and all DCs. [00:19:34] Speaker B: For how long? [00:19:35] Speaker F: 400 years. Too long then I don't know. [00:19:41] Speaker A: We'll look that up in a second but go ahead. [00:19:44] Speaker F: So with his last action as he reels from the disgusting vapors, he will hold up his non weapon hand and blow into it. And suddenly a flame will appear in the palm of his hand and envelop his fist, and he will punch the dragon in the face using his spell known as Produce Flame. So he's going to make a Touch Attack, the second edition version of a Touch attack. [00:20:19] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead. [00:20:21] Speaker F: So that is a five that will miss. So his flaming fist misses, and then he throws up a little in his mouth. [00:20:29] Speaker A: Right. [00:20:30] Speaker C: So when Silver sings about this, is he going to sing a song of ice and fire? [00:20:40] Speaker A: Come on. Actually SurreyA you're up. It's your turn. Moving on. Don't give him a high five for that. [00:20:49] Speaker B: Don't give him a high five for that. So given that this thing is here now and it's, like, right in front of us and hanging out, I think, with one of her two remaining batches of infused reagents. Actually, no. First, I am going to make is it an Arcana role to understand draconic creatures? [00:21:12] Speaker A: This is a recall knowledge. [00:21:17] Speaker B: What kind of recall knowledge? [00:21:18] Speaker D: I'm looking dragons would be Arcana. [00:21:21] Speaker A: If it's a dragon type, it would be Arcana. [00:21:24] Speaker B: Okay, cool. [00:21:25] Speaker A: So I am trained at Narcana, and even if you're not now, even if you're not trained, you can still recall knowledge. [00:21:33] Speaker B: That is a 16 knowledge Arcana. [00:21:36] Speaker A: Okay. So you can ask me one question. The creature is called a Gralulodon. G-R-A-U-L-A-D-O-N. Any specific resistances? No. [00:21:52] Speaker G: Okay. [00:21:52] Speaker A: But it can hold its breath for 225 rounds. [00:21:56] Speaker D: I've been looking at other creatures, and that seems to be a very common lizard like, lizard folk amphibious. [00:22:03] Speaker A: It makes sense, I guess. [00:22:04] Speaker D: It's just like a weird thing. [00:22:05] Speaker A: That's 22 and a half minutes for if you want to convert that out. [00:22:09] Speaker F: Of very hard to drown this lizard. [00:22:12] Speaker H: But if there's a will, there's a. [00:22:14] Speaker D: Way, there's a pool of water, and we have infinite time. So let's get on. [00:22:18] Speaker B: Yeah. So with her remaining two actions, she's going to make and throw a bomb with her infused reagent. [00:22:23] Speaker A: All right. [00:22:24] Speaker B: She's going to go for alchemist fire this time. [00:22:27] Speaker A: Excellent. [00:22:27] Speaker B: Pond Washer has probably got the ice thing covered. That is a 19 to hit. [00:22:33] Speaker A: That will hit. [00:22:34] Speaker B: Wonderful. [00:22:35] Speaker A: I think that's the first bomb that's landed. [00:22:37] Speaker B: I think it is. No, I put out a couple of fires. [00:22:39] Speaker D: Also, a lot of Anwar's jokes. [00:22:42] Speaker B: Those are troll my splash damage as a bomber. Alchemist. [00:22:48] Speaker A: Right. [00:22:49] Speaker B: And it does specifically say that it can be on the target. [00:22:52] Speaker A: Yes. And this creature is large, so even. [00:22:56] Speaker B: If it were to splash another, like, it had to splash adjacent, it could still splash onto it. [00:23:00] Speaker A: Correct. [00:23:00] Speaker B: So it does one D eight plus one persistent fire damage and one fire splash damage. [00:23:04] Speaker D: Very cool. [00:23:05] Speaker B: So that is six persistent damage and one splash to it. [00:23:08] Speaker A: Six persistent six. [00:23:11] Speaker B: Yes. [00:23:11] Speaker D: It's one D six damage, one persistent. [00:23:14] Speaker B: One D eight plus one persistent fire damage. [00:23:16] Speaker A: One d eight. [00:23:18] Speaker B: So my role was five. [00:23:20] Speaker A: Okay. So it does five damage and then every one of its turns it takes one. Yeah, got you. [00:23:26] Speaker B: The way that is phrased where I'm reading it is funky. One D, eight plus one, persistent fire damage. [00:23:32] Speaker D: I would think it would do it. [00:23:33] Speaker A: Oh, wait. [00:23:33] Speaker D: Every round six. [00:23:34] Speaker B: Round one, D, eight plus one, persistent fire damage. [00:23:37] Speaker A: Is there a comma in that sentence? [00:23:39] Speaker B: There is not. [00:23:40] Speaker A: All right, well, guys, commas are important. So this thing is going to take six damage every one of its turns and then you did one splash to it. [00:23:48] Speaker F: So for cinematic purposes, Pond Watcher tries to punch it with a flaming fist and then a flask of fire hits it in the face. [00:23:56] Speaker A: Sorry. [00:23:56] Speaker B: It takes a moment to study it, yanks something off her bandolier, gives it a shake and hurls it across the courtyard. [00:24:04] Speaker A: So it's now its turn. The first thing it does is it's going to attempt to stop, drop and roll. Nope. [00:24:11] Speaker B: Wait, wasn't it martyr? [00:24:13] Speaker A: Brianna is your turn. [00:24:18] Speaker B: That's what I thought. Brianna is going to be like, why must we attack everything we see? What is wrong with people? Oh, sorry, amendment. So there is a comma in the book that is not on Hero Lab. So it's one to eight, fire damage, one person, fire damage one. Got you. [00:24:35] Speaker C: Otherwise that would be really? [00:24:36] Speaker B: Yeah. That's why I wanted to check the book and make sure I wasn't going off Hero Lab. [00:24:39] Speaker D: I was very excited to make an alchemist as my next character. [00:24:43] Speaker A: Brianna, what are you doing? [00:24:44] Speaker B: Am I from it? [00:24:45] Speaker D: But four. [00:24:46] Speaker B: So it's 20ft cool to be on its other side. So I'm flanking with Jasper. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Let's say yes. Jasper is not there. [00:24:54] Speaker B: The point is that I'm on its side is what I'm trying to say. And I will swing. Why not? [00:25:00] Speaker A: All right, so you move up with your first action. Your second action is to swing your scimitar. Butter knife. [00:25:08] Speaker B: Scimitar. Thank you very much. The only one who has a butter knife is Bonwacher. I could fix that. I'm not going to say that to his face right now because it'd probably kill me in one fell swoop. How is a be distracted by the dragon, sir chess. Let's keep that in mind. Where am I? Where am I? There it is. 22 hit. Feel my rough as I try and pull out at these six with my nails. How is an eight damage? [00:25:41] Speaker A: No, it's still alive. Guys. [00:25:46] Speaker B: I will swing one more time. Natural 20. [00:25:52] Speaker D: So what's the total? [00:25:53] Speaker A: You, what's your total? [00:25:54] Speaker B: That's a great question. Where'd it go? [00:25:56] Speaker A: 22 minus five. Because it's your second attack. [00:25:59] Speaker B: Right, second attack, exactly. [00:26:01] Speaker D: Oh, first attack was a 22 and it wasn't a natural 20. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Correct. [00:26:04] Speaker A: Crit, draw your card too. [00:26:07] Speaker D: Glad you bought these cards. [00:26:08] Speaker A: No. And what type of damage is this? Slashing, slashing y'all. So what does your card say? [00:26:15] Speaker B: Wait, where is it? Is it this one? [00:26:18] Speaker A: Yes. [00:26:19] Speaker B: Thanks, Richard. Disembowel. Triple damage. [00:26:26] Speaker D: That's it. Just straight up triple damage? That's the whole card? [00:26:29] Speaker A: Yep. [00:26:29] Speaker D: I mean, what else would you want, really? [00:26:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:32] Speaker A: Right. [00:26:32] Speaker B: Seriously. So at this point, it's a plus. [00:26:36] Speaker A: So you roll that and then multiply roll it, add your modifier and then multiply everything by three. Five plus five is ten times three times three is 30 damage. [00:26:47] Speaker C: Oh, it's super dead. [00:26:48] Speaker A: Tell me. [00:26:49] Speaker D: I like how she was like, Why are we fighting things? And it just rips its stomach. [00:26:52] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I'm going to put my G 20 down because I don't get to go because it is dead. Yeah, go ahead. [00:26:58] Speaker B: So, should we say, cinematically, she is trying very hard to get to the goblins up top. She's like, this is a waste of time. So she'll charge up, use its squat little what's the name of the dog that reminds me of Corgi? Corgi, like legs. It's the corgi of the dragon species, right? [00:27:19] Speaker A: Yes. [00:27:20] Speaker B: Awesome. And just swoop its head off, lops it right off and lands right behind it. Be like, can we move on now, please? [00:27:27] Speaker C: Why don't you do that more often? [00:27:28] Speaker A: Shut up. [00:27:29] Speaker B: Let's go. [00:27:30] Speaker H: If I'm right by the rope, I'd like to try to climb up it. [00:27:33] Speaker D: We're still in combat rounds? [00:27:34] Speaker H: Oh, yes. [00:27:35] Speaker A: Temid, would you like to do or can we end combat? [00:27:39] Speaker C: We can end combat, but he's going to immediately run to the rope and try to get up there now. [00:27:46] Speaker A: Excellent. All right, so as Temid and Silver get to the rope, they see that there are seven dog slicers, three short bows and 15 arrows scattered under it, as if dropped by creatures fleeing from something. [00:28:04] Speaker H: I'm going to climb up the rope. [00:28:06] Speaker A: You're going to climb up the rope. Can you please give me an athletics check? [00:28:09] Speaker H: Can I do acrobatics? [00:28:10] Speaker A: Yes, that's what I meant. [00:28:12] Speaker C: Athletics is achieved. [00:28:14] Speaker A: Okay. [00:28:14] Speaker D: Athletics is climb. [00:28:15] Speaker A: Yeah, athletics is climb. Sorry. [00:28:16] Speaker D: Unless you're going to jump from the floor to the top, that's Acrobatic. That would be impressive. [00:28:22] Speaker H: I should be fine. 13. [00:28:24] Speaker C: Yes, you are fine. [00:28:27] Speaker A: Are you going with them? Also? Give me an athletics check. [00:28:33] Speaker C: A nine. [00:28:35] Speaker A: Yes, you do succeed. [00:28:36] Speaker B: Yay. Well done. [00:28:38] Speaker A: But barely. So the party is essentially let's switch over to exploration mode. So now let's go around the table. Now that two people have already climbed up, let's see what everyone else is doing. Matt, what is Twin Talon doing? [00:28:51] Speaker D: So I just want to be clear, can we see the goblins and the halfling? Because you had mentioned it was a goblins and a halfling right from where. [00:28:59] Speaker A: We are, they are now above you. So with the way that these are over there's, overhangs. If you looked up, you couldn't see them when you were across the way behind that, like, behind the gate, you could kind of look up at an angle and see them, but now you cannot. You would have to climb the rope to get up there. To see them. [00:29:17] Speaker B: Okay, that is not what it sounded. [00:29:18] Speaker A: Like when I was asked what I. [00:29:19] Speaker B: Could do with Jasper. [00:29:20] Speaker D: I'm sorry, but I could see the halfling from the doorway. [00:29:23] Speaker A: Yes. [00:29:24] Speaker D: Then Twin Talon is going to sheath his two swords. [00:29:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:29:29] Speaker D: And he's going to move into the doorway, kind of crouch in the doorway and pull out his short bow and take aim at the halfling. [00:29:34] Speaker A: All right. Okay. Temid, you've just climbed the rope so we're going to skip past you. Brianna. [00:29:43] Speaker B: I guess I'm standing back up and dusting myself off. I'll take a quick peek at Pond Watcher. [00:29:51] Speaker A: All right. [00:29:51] Speaker B: How's he doing? [00:29:52] Speaker A: Pond Watcher? How you doing, buddy? It's your turn to tell us what's happening. [00:29:56] Speaker F: Two things. Pond watcher looks crazed. [00:30:00] Speaker A: Okay. [00:30:00] Speaker F: And he was sickened by the creature. [00:30:03] Speaker A: Yep. [00:30:04] Speaker F: So he's going to pick up its decapitated head and vomit all over it in its mouth to clear his sickened status and also send a message to all draconic beings. [00:30:18] Speaker A: Okay. Is there a roll you need to make? [00:30:20] Speaker F: Yes, now I'm allowed to reroll my 40. [00:30:23] Speaker A: All right, we'll get back to you in a second. Silver just climbed up and what is Sareya doing? [00:30:30] Speaker B: It's an athletic checks to climb up. [00:30:32] Speaker A: Yep. I'll let you know. It is very easy. [00:30:36] Speaker B: She's real bad at wait, let me make sure I'm not looking at Jasper. No, I'm looking at I'm gonna give it a try, but if it doesn't go well all right, going to find another way. [00:30:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:49] Speaker C: Well, under here it does say that climbing a rope is a trained skill. [00:30:56] Speaker A: Are you trained in athletics? [00:30:57] Speaker B: No, definitely not. [00:31:00] Speaker D: Yeah, that's weird. [00:31:01] Speaker A: But to the I'm not going to lie, I'm not the most athletic person. Wait, someone playing pathfinder is not super athletic. Go figure. Anyway, it is very hard to climb a rope for like I have zero upper body strength. [00:31:19] Speaker C: I have negative one upper body strength. [00:31:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:21] Speaker A: So it makes sense that climb to me, like Sean, physically it makes sense that climbing a rope is like a skill that you would have to learn how to do because I physically in real life could not do it. [00:31:34] Speaker H: I believe I am trained in athletics regardless. I am trained, but I don't have a really do you have to be. [00:31:39] Speaker A: Trained to use it to climb a rope? You have to be trained. All right, so just so you know, this rubble you could also climb and. [00:31:52] Speaker B: You like clamber over it to where. [00:31:53] Speaker A: But you can make an untrained athletics check to do it. It is a bit harder though. [00:31:59] Speaker B: I mean, if she physically can't climb the rope, that's all she can do. 16. [00:32:04] Speaker A: Yes. You start to clamor up, it takes you a little bit longer than climbing the rope does. All right, Rich, did you manage to successfully vomit in the Dragon's head? [00:32:14] Speaker F: Let me tell you what I rolled let's just say 26. [00:32:17] Speaker A: You successfully vomit into the. Dragon's mouth and you are cleared of your sickened condition. Brianna. Brianna, what are you doing? You don't have any roles to make. You're seeing Pond Watcher puke into the mouth of a dragon. [00:32:35] Speaker B: She'll smile and nod as his crazed. [00:32:41] Speaker A: Eyes look at you. [00:32:43] Speaker B: And she'll slowly move away. And she will also start clamoring a rope. [00:32:50] Speaker D: Are you trained? [00:32:52] Speaker B: Yes, I am. In athletics? [00:32:54] Speaker D: Yeah. I don't know. [00:32:54] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:32:56] Speaker B: Yes. How about a 25? [00:33:01] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Easily. You managed to start clambering up the fallen rocks with one a critical success. [00:33:07] Speaker C: Because then she gets an extra 5ft. [00:33:09] Speaker A: Yes. [00:33:10] Speaker C: So then she probably gets all the way up. [00:33:12] Speaker A: Yeah, she gets to the top of she gets to the top at the same time as you guys climbing the ropes. [00:33:20] Speaker H: Okay, I guess when I pop up, I'd like to say hold friends. Looks like this is a sticky situation. I'm going to ask you halflin fellow to put the knife down. [00:33:38] Speaker A: So let me give you a quick description of what's going on here. Cidal altarin's battlements provide a breathtaking view. To the east rise the majestic Five Kings Mountains looming as ageless rocky monoliths in hazy fog. To the south, rolling foothills unfurl nestled around breech hills rooftops. Along the battlements, six bonfires have been heaped, although currently only the one in the southwestern three are burning fitfully, sending plumes of reddish smoke into the air. You see a halfling holding a knife to the throat of an older looking goblin as the rest of the goblins look on, pleading with them, you say what you said and we'll see what happens next week. [00:34:35] Speaker E: Sean, will our heroes save the goblin? Is this the arsonist Kalmot? Why were there strange dragons in the citadel?
