[00:00:44] Speaker A: Of the cracked die podcast. My name is Matt. I play twin Talon on the show. First, I'd like to thank everyone out there who has been watching us on Twitch. We've done three episodes now on Twitch and they've been pretty successful. We've hit affiliate thank you so much to everyone who's helped us there. And we've got enough subscriptions to have our first personalized emote. So things are looking up. If you're interested in checking us out on Twitch, we are at Twitch TV thecrackedye. You should be able to see a few of our old broadcasts on the channel. But our next Twitch episode is going to be on August eigth from 01:00 p.m. To 05:00 p.m. Eastern time. So one of the things we run into this episode is a hazard, which is a new rule or new type of thing. Four, second edition. So of course we get the rules wrong. Now we know how it works. And I'm going to go over that very briefly here. If you don't care, just keep hitting that forward couple of seconds thing until you get to the episode. But the way hazards are supposed to work, if you are in exploration mode, which is the walking around looking at stuff mode, when you fulfill a certain condition, the hazard triggers, something happens, and then you go into encounter mode, that initiative rolling. We jumped ahead and rolled initiative before anything happened, and then it hit us in the middle of initiative and it kind of messed things up, but only for like the first round or so. And then it was pretty normal. But we know what we did. And when you're playing in your games, that is something to be aware of. So, for instance, if it was a tripwire, you would be in exploration mode until somebody stepped on it. Then it would do whatever it does, shoot darts at you. And then once it shot darts at you, then you would roll initiative and you would be in encounter mode. Simple, right? Okay, well, enough about that. Enough about rules. Let's get into the episode. Episode 45, ten foot pole.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: Welcome to the 45th episode of the Cracked Die podcast.
[00:02:47] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh.
[00:02:48] Speaker D: All right.
[00:02:49] Speaker B: I didn't think we'd make it this far, guys. I have really tried to take out characters left and right. I almost had Sareia at the very beginning, and then a couple of episodes, I almost had Brianna and silver. Yeah, but you all managed to scrape by for 45 episodes, which means I need to try harder.
[00:03:12] Speaker A: Well, I think that's what that means, yeah.
[00:03:15] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[00:03:16] Speaker D: Well, my contract is now up, right? Like at the end of the 45th episode.
[00:03:22] Speaker B: Yeah, so we'll see if we have to renew or.
[00:03:25] Speaker D: I mean, my rate is going up.
[00:03:27] Speaker B: Cast member renegotiate?
[00:03:30] Speaker E: Yeah, he's just going to finally kill somebody off. Temid and Anwar are gone.
[00:03:35] Speaker D: Now I need both green and blue skittles or eminems. Whatever. I said whatever the running joke is.
[00:03:41] Speaker B: Skittles or M M's.
[00:03:43] Speaker E: Those are two very different snacks.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: You got to word yourself carefully, okay?
[00:03:47] Speaker D: I want green M Ms and blue skittles, and I eat them both at the same.
[00:03:53] Speaker B: You. Have anyone ever played the prank where you pull out a bunch of one color m m and you replace it with the same color?
[00:04:02] Speaker C: No.
[00:04:03] Speaker A: No, I'm not a monster, Sean.
[00:04:05] Speaker B: I didn't say I did it. But let's get back to the show.
[00:04:09] Speaker A: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast, all.
[00:04:13] Speaker F: Heroes discussed what leads they had. After that, they continued to explore the moangi expanse. Upon their exploration, they ran across two jungle drakes. After narrowly escaping, all, heroes decided to continue looking around and adventuring. What will they find? Find out now on the cracked die podcast.
[00:04:38] Speaker B: So, as you are all resting, let's fade out.
The sweet tang of spices fill the air as a dark hearse pulled by a black horse arrives at a red stone building.
Guards dressed in purples and blues move aside as a frail old man with stunning green eyes proceeds to the rear of the hearse to open it. A lighthelven woman dressed in black, crying over a coffin wails as the guards remove it. A necklace of a one eyed mask dangles from her pale neck as the driver holds her up.
He's in a better place now, the driver remarks. Please take this to the upper floors. The guards nod and take the coffin away. With the guards out of Earshuck, the woman abruptly stops crying. I'm not sure how much longer I could keep up that charade. Even I have my limits. Now that we are here and out of that loathsome town, what's the next step to exacting our revenge?
[00:05:44] Speaker G: Well.
[00:05:45] Speaker B: The driver smiles. You and Alec should be safe here while he regains his strength. Plus, your recent studies have been coming along quite well.
Now, while you are here working with him, I will be visiting some old friends of ours. He smirks. Keep an eye out on Alec and continue your studies, Vase. With that, the driver starts to walk away, his form shifting from an old haunch to a straighter, stronger looking frame.
What?
[00:06:18] Speaker A: Vase is loose? No, we turned her into the local constabulary.
[00:06:24] Speaker E: Yeah, Alec is resurrected, Vase is loose, and I'm willing to bet that guy is the hawk.
[00:06:33] Speaker C: I don't like it.
[00:06:34] Speaker G: Just kill them all again.
[00:06:35] Speaker A: That just means he had double xp I'm with.
[00:06:38] Speaker B: Somebody's got to learn.
[00:06:40] Speaker G: Disintegrate.
[00:06:43] Speaker H: You know, pond Watcher, you're the most manly man anyone here, and no one's disputing.
[00:06:49] Speaker G: Yep.
[00:06:51] Speaker H: I feel like I could be maybe just a little manly as well, if I carried Alex's sword.
Not as mainly as you, obviously, but if I carried it, it might make me feel safer in this scary jungle.
[00:07:07] Speaker G: Okay. I mean, that will be very helpful. I've had it in this sheath on my back and haven't used it in what feels like months.
[00:07:18] Speaker H: We're going to sell this thing first chance we get.
[00:07:21] Speaker G: But what Alec would have wanted.
[00:07:24] Speaker C: Silver, do you not have a weapon?
[00:07:28] Speaker G: I try not to.
[00:07:30] Speaker A: He's got a bow. He's used it previously.
[00:07:33] Speaker H: I lost the bow. I dropped it somewhere.
[00:07:37] Speaker C: Oh, that's unfortunate. Well, at least this, I'm hoping, will also help keeping you safe.
[00:07:43] Speaker H: I can't actually use this. I just know that palm Watcher was having a hard time walking around.
[00:07:48] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:07:49] Speaker G: Do you want my hatchet? It's got magical powers.
[00:07:55] Speaker H: I think I can't carry more.
[00:07:58] Speaker G: Well, no, you've inspired me. I feel like I'm no longer clumsy. And I'm also going to get rid of this stupid hatchet I found on a frog man, and he just throws it into a tree. Maybe someday a little elf will walk along this path and find a cool hatchet in a tree.
[00:08:15] Speaker A: Then he'll look through it and realize he can detect magic.
[00:08:18] Speaker G: Yeah, he could be, like, a real hero.
So pay it forward. I always say I think about children a lot.
I'm 91 years old. You're all children. Except for soraya.
[00:08:39] Speaker C: I suppose that's fair. Well, now that we're thoroughly rested. Is that correct?
[00:08:47] Speaker B: Yes, you are rested.
[00:08:49] Speaker C: What are we planning to do? Are we going to investigate the stone? Are we going directly north and coming up and around it? What are we planning to do, friends? She says that she unfurls, I guess, her communal map and kind of points at things.
[00:09:05] Speaker G: I'd say we go straight north across the river again.
[00:09:08] Speaker A: Okay. And we can send Renulli northeast.
[00:09:11] Speaker B: All right, so you are all going north, and Renulli is going northeast.
[00:09:18] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:09:19] Speaker B: So you all wake up, you exchange items. Pond watcher is no longer encumbered, however.
So do you remember that role you guys made when you slept the last night and you were like, oh, nothing happened. Ha. Sean was just messing with us.
No, I believe it was pond watcher who failed, temid who failed, and silver who failed.
[00:09:46] Speaker D: I dispute this.
[00:09:48] Speaker B: Well, when you wake up this morning, your stomach is really. No, it's actually quite the opposite.
The bottom just kind of drops out on you. And you are sickened. One for the remainder of the day.
I'm sorry, I need the three of you to make another fortitude save.
[00:10:11] Speaker D: Is this a disease?
[00:10:12] Speaker B: Is this a disease? Yes, it is.
[00:10:15] Speaker D: I have removed disease.
[00:10:17] Speaker B: Great.
[00:10:19] Speaker D: So it says, healing magic purges disease from the creature's body. You attempt to counteract one disease, afflicting the target. Does anybody know how that would work? Like, do they roll again?
[00:10:29] Speaker A: I think it's whatever the spell description is. But typically, it removes the disease and not the effects.
[00:10:33] Speaker E: So it wouldn't get worse from here, but you'd still have that second condition.
[00:10:38] Speaker A: Until the end of the day. Until you would normally roll again.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:42] Speaker D: All right, so we're going forward. Dude, save, right?
[00:10:44] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:10:45] Speaker G: I rolled a 24 23.
[00:10:48] Speaker B: Okay, so we'll have to see how you feel tomorrow, but for the rest of the day, you are sickened. One, as dysentery takes. Oh, no.
[00:11:05] Speaker G: We can't willingly ingest anything.
[00:11:09] Speaker D: Well.
[00:11:09] Speaker B: Oh, lord.
[00:11:12] Speaker A: Oh, a sickened.
[00:11:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:14] Speaker A: Oh, jeez. That means you can't eat or drink anything in the hot jungle.
[00:11:20] Speaker G: Oh, God.
[00:11:22] Speaker C: Is there anything we can get you? Is there anything we can do?
[00:11:26] Speaker G: Just leave me to die.
[00:11:29] Speaker B: And now you approach the river that you want to cross. So are you going to cock the wagon and float it again? Are you going to board the river?
[00:11:39] Speaker A: I would like to run really fast and then grab Brianna's shield and surfboard across. Like skipping a.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: You know.
[00:11:48] Speaker E: All right.
[00:11:49] Speaker B: I believe it would have happened in the Hobbit movies, so I'm going to let you do it for free. No actions. So now that you know that you are all sickened, let's go back to when you all wake up. You hand off items and you're sick.
[00:12:06] Speaker D: Oh, my stomach.
[00:12:08] Speaker C: Did you drink too much last night? What is happening?
[00:12:11] Speaker D: There's no such thing as drinking too much.
[00:12:13] Speaker C: No.
[00:12:14] Speaker E: I've never seen temid hungover like this.
[00:12:17] Speaker D: This isn't a hangover.
[00:12:19] Speaker C: Is there a medicine check that can be done to see what's going on? Cool. All right.
[00:12:25] Speaker G: Pond Watcher looks totally, totally fine and just sitting there, totally fine, and then he just yaks all over the ground.
[00:12:33] Speaker C: Oh, no, I got a 26 on that.
[00:12:36] Speaker B: I said Brianna.
[00:12:38] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:12:38] Speaker C: No, with a twelve.
[00:12:39] Speaker B: Pond Watcher vomiting all over just distracts you and you don't quite know what's going on. But Sareia, you can tell from the symptoms they're exhibiting that they have a very low level stage one of dysentery.
[00:12:56] Speaker E: All right, so it looks like you're just in the beginnings of this disease. Have any of you heard of dysentery or had it before?
[00:13:04] Speaker G: I think it was a dragon poison.
[00:13:06] Speaker E: Yes, I'm sure it was Pond Watcher.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: Probably any of the river water.
[00:13:12] Speaker D: No, I don't think so. Temed wants to look at. He knows how he feels. He takes a look over at Pond Watcher and at silver and tries to see among the three of them, which is in worse shape.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: You would think that you're all about the same, but, you know, diseases on older humans is probably the worst. Yeah.
[00:13:35] Speaker D: So he walks over, he kind of like crawls over to silver and he lays the hand on him, says, here, let Kaden Killian take care of you. You're going to feel better tomorrow. And then he just kind of shoots a little bit of removed disease into him. My only casting of that for the day, so that tomorrow he'll be fine. Because he's more confident that he and Pond Watcher will be able to kind of shake off the effects of the disease going forward. But you still feel sick, though. But you'll be fine tomorrow.
[00:14:09] Speaker G: I think you should make a litter to carry us.
[00:14:14] Speaker D: So while temid sees everyone kind of looking like talking about that, he walks over to twin town.
Then he just starts trying to climb on twin town's back. Because it's such a good idea for other people.
[00:14:28] Speaker A: I think you're better down there.
[00:14:29] Speaker B: No. Help me.
[00:14:33] Speaker A: Let me help. And he'll just cover him in vegetation here. Now, while you're sick, nothing will get you because you're camouflaged.
[00:14:40] Speaker G: So I'm not usually one to say this, but maybe we should take the day off.
[00:14:45] Speaker C: I was going to suggest it too, because I don't think we should split off. If anything, perhaps Arnouli can go ahead and scout ahead and report back. But with the three of you, with half of our party just completely ill, it's not wise to keep moving.
[00:15:01] Speaker G: Someone can go get soup.
[00:15:08] Speaker E: I think I can make some jungle drake soup.
[00:15:13] Speaker G: Maybe we shouldn't have eaten the toxic being.
How else are we going to get.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: Stronger without eating the flesh of our enemies?
[00:15:22] Speaker E: Yes, that's exactly it, pond orchard. You'll have to defeat this illness because that's what's going to let you to allow to overcome the dragon. You have to beat it while it's inside you first.
[00:15:30] Speaker G: Do you think if I get really mad it'll go away?
[00:15:33] Speaker A: Can't hurt.
[00:15:35] Speaker B: So you guys are going to take the day off? Renulli actually recommends that she stays and helps build the camp because your main camp builder is sick right now.
[00:15:49] Speaker G: Listen, if I am going to be turned to stone and killed, I don't want to look like I'm shitting my.
[00:15:55] Speaker A: Pants for all eternity for everyone to find.
[00:15:59] Speaker G: When a little elf child comes and they want to be a hero, I don't want them to see me shitting.
[00:16:04] Speaker B: My pants in a clearing like those.
[00:16:08] Speaker D: People from Pompeo, Pompeii, whatever, that are sitting on the shitter.
[00:16:16] Speaker E: They catch a couple mid coitus too?
[00:16:18] Speaker D: Yeah, I think so.
[00:16:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I think a couple of people.
[00:16:21] Speaker D: Are also like single person coitus.
[00:16:26] Speaker E: If you know the world is ending, why not? Why not go out on a good note?
[00:16:31] Speaker A: Or if you don't know the world is ending, just imagine how many people on average in like a 1 mile radius from you are currently touching.
[00:16:39] Speaker B: And with that, you guys rest for the evening.
Please keep this in.
[00:16:45] Speaker D: I do want to do one thing, though. Kemid's going to do his best to try to at least give other people. He's going to treat disease, but he's going to be telling Brienna and Surya and twin Talon, like, what to do.
[00:16:58] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. We can definitely do so.
[00:17:00] Speaker D: So treat disease gives us either a plus two or a plus four, depending on the success level.
So 33.
What is that success versus the DC of the disease?
[00:17:17] Speaker B: Critical.
[00:17:18] Speaker D: Critical. Okay, so then pond watcher gets a plus four circumstance bonus to the next saving throw against the disease.
[00:17:26] Speaker B: Okay, so he rolled a 24 for that. So it's now a 28.
[00:17:31] Speaker D: No, I mean the next one. Right? Don't we have to see if we're going to roll again the next morning or.
[00:17:38] Speaker B: That's what I had you guys roll right away just so I knew what happened.
[00:17:41] Speaker D: Okay, got you.
[00:17:43] Speaker B: All right.
[00:17:44] Speaker A: I would like to roll back since we had no discussion about it. I don't think that Renoli should stay here and make camp.
[00:17:51] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:17:53] Speaker D: Just have a scout anyways, right?
[00:17:55] Speaker A: Cannot help with the medicine. At least you don't want me to help with the medicine because I'm not trained in it, which means I can't really do anything. Well, I can try to make camp and I feel like if that's all I do all day, there's got to be a better chance of me succeeding than just in the last hour. Just trying to throw something together. And since we're planning to go north and then northeast in the morning, assuming everyone is healthy, we could send her southeast today.
That way it's just one more tile that we have explored. Or if there's something there, we'll know. I just don't feel good about not knowing what's around us with us sitting here.
[00:18:30] Speaker C: That's fair.
[00:18:31] Speaker D: Yeah, that's a good point. I like the idea.
[00:18:34] Speaker B: Okay, so you send Renuli southeast to investigate twin Talon, please give me a check to set up camp.
[00:18:47] Speaker A: That's survival.
[00:18:48] Speaker B: That is a survival. Okay.
[00:18:50] Speaker A: He rolled a natural 20. He gives me a 29.
[00:18:53] Speaker D: Nice job, twin.
[00:18:54] Speaker A: I also rolled to aid myself with architecture lore so that the structure I build is structurally sound. I got a 27 at that.
[00:19:01] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:19:02] Speaker A: I don't know if that's a real thing, but I was fun to roll.
[00:19:04] Speaker B: Architecture Laura, because you're taking all day to do it. I will let you do that.
[00:19:10] Speaker A: Okay, cool. So that gives me a 30. Plus the two we get from the supplies we got is a 32.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: That is a critical success.
[00:19:17] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:19:18] Speaker E: Ooh, Sean.
[00:19:20] Speaker B: Ooh, Christine, can I use tea lord.
[00:19:23] Speaker E: To see if there's any kind of herbs around that would help them fight this illness.
[00:19:28] Speaker B: Yes, you may.
[00:19:29] Speaker E: 1 time ever using the most useless skill. And I got a 17. I rolled a five.
[00:19:35] Speaker B: Okay, so you know that you could bruce up some tea using some of the alchemical thing that you have, plus some of the natural leaves and plants around this area and it should help them.
[00:19:51] Speaker E: All right. So she makes some jungle Drake soup and some of this medicinal tea to the three sick party members.
[00:19:59] Speaker B: Make me a pair of pants.
[00:20:02] Speaker E: I'm not a sextress.
[00:20:05] Speaker B: But you're so skilled in so many.
[00:20:08] Speaker A: Ways, if you're not careful, last can make you a sandwich.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: Next.
[00:20:16] Speaker D: I'm really scared that it's actually going to end up with that too.
[00:20:21] Speaker E: She walks away, dumps out a bag that had, like, stuff she can put elsewhere, cuts two holes in it and throws on silver.
[00:20:31] Speaker D: She still did what he asked.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: Silver now has burlap pants.
[00:20:36] Speaker H: I will take them until I can find proper pants.
[00:20:41] Speaker B: Okay. Throughout the course of the day, you manage to build a very luxurious campsite, twin Talon. So with your day off, you guys all manage to recoup. Please heal up as normal. Jasper takes the day to recover. He heals up as normal as well.
Renulli comes back and tells you she found the other side of the river that she found two days ago. And there were more river drakes, but she managed to avoid notice of them. You all camp for the evening. And Brianna, during your watch, what is your perception bonus?
[00:21:26] Speaker C: Amazing. Also an eight.
[00:21:29] Speaker B: Okay. You hear some rustling behind you and you snap your neck around to take a look and you don't see anything.
[00:21:38] Speaker C: Can I go investigate?
[00:21:41] Speaker B: Sure. Absolutely.
[00:21:43] Speaker C: With stealth.
[00:21:46] Speaker G: Oh boy.
[00:21:47] Speaker B: Sure. Give me a stealth check.
[00:21:49] Speaker C: 14.
[00:21:50] Speaker B: Cool. As you investigate and look around the area, you don't see anything.
About 15 minutes pass and you don't hear or see any more rustling.
[00:22:03] Speaker C: Must have just been an animal passing through. I guess I'll stay on high alert and resume my watch.
[00:22:11] Speaker B: Excellent. For the rest of the evening you do not hear or see anything strange.
[00:22:16] Speaker C: Going to vomit. Like I'm nervous for Brianna.
[00:22:20] Speaker B: Now morning comes and everyone is feeling much better. You may remove the sickened condition because everyone passed their roles.
[00:22:32] Speaker G: Yay.
[00:22:33] Speaker B: With all of the care that you.
[00:22:35] Speaker D: All took chokes on you. I never set that condition. Ha.
[00:22:39] Speaker B: Next morning you are all heading. Which direction you guys going? Back to the plan of heading north and sending renewing northeast.
[00:22:47] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:22:47] Speaker B: All right. As you head north, you come to the river again. It's not super deep. Everyone's medium here. Yes.
It would come up to your shoulders if you tried to walk through it. It doesn't seem particularly fast moving water, but it could be dangerous if you tried to walk across. You can swim across if you wanted to. You could tie some rope around each other and get across.
[00:23:16] Speaker H: How far across is it?
[00:23:17] Speaker B: It's about 10ft across.
[00:23:20] Speaker H: Okay, I'm going to cast levitate on myself.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:23:23] Speaker H: And I'm just going to pond watcher. You all just shove me to the other side of this river here.
[00:23:29] Speaker G: Oh, I've been waiting for this. He yeets. You.
[00:23:35] Speaker A: All right?
[00:23:36] Speaker H: I'll just be levitating cross legged on the other side of the room.
[00:23:40] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:23:41] Speaker C: Well, that takes care of one person.
[00:23:44] Speaker G: I can take a rope across if he wants.
[00:23:47] Speaker C: You can take perhaps a few and I'll take the others and we can swim across.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: Twin Talon is going to jump across if it's 10ft. Twin Talon can jump across if it's 11ft. I don't know that he could, but 10ft he can do it.
[00:24:01] Speaker B: Okay. Do you need to make an athletics check on that or.
[00:24:04] Speaker A: No, no, I have powerful leap. Just same thing that pond watcher has.
[00:24:07] Speaker B: Okay, cool. So I'll say you all take your time and you safely manage to get across the river with everyone helping each other out.
[00:24:15] Speaker C: Yay.
[00:24:16] Speaker B: As you cross, you emerge into an unassuming forest clearing that saves empty except for a single pillar topped with a green dragon's visage.
[00:24:28] Speaker G: Uh oh.
[00:24:29] Speaker D: Oh, boy.
[00:24:30] Speaker C: You don't like it, do you?
[00:24:31] Speaker B: Approach the pillar.
[00:24:33] Speaker G: Jasper, look. A pillar.
[00:24:35] Speaker E: Stop trying to send my bird.
[00:24:38] Speaker G: Look, he's an expert scout.
[00:24:40] Speaker E: What is the pillar made of?
[00:24:42] Speaker B: You see, the pillar is 10ft tall and made of wood.
[00:24:46] Speaker A: Well, I think the issue is getting to it. If we get too close, if it's like the other one and turns people to stone, that could be an issue. Twin Talon is going to look if it's like a trap, twin Talon wants to look. If there's any indication as to how.
[00:25:00] Speaker B: It is triggered, give me a thievery check.
[00:25:04] Speaker A: I got a 20.
[00:25:05] Speaker B: Great. You know that this is probably some sort of complex magical trap.
[00:25:12] Speaker A: Cool. I knew that before I rolled. Is there anything I gained from that? Like any kind of indication as to what sets it off or how to disarm it?
[00:25:20] Speaker B: You're pretty sure that anything within its visual range would set it off?
[00:25:26] Speaker H: If I turned twin town invisible, would that help at all?
[00:25:30] Speaker B: It could. So let's do this. Can I get everyone to place themselves where they would like to be on the map? And I'm going to give you an area within that green square. Can I get everyone to roll initiative, please?
[00:25:47] Speaker G: I got a natural one for an eleven.
[00:25:51] Speaker A: They'll only get there after he's turned to stone.
[00:25:53] Speaker C: 20. 515.
[00:25:56] Speaker A: 30.
[00:25:58] Speaker B: Also initiative bros. Two in a row.
[00:26:02] Speaker D: So I think with our critical initiative successes, we should be able to kill this thing immediately. Don't you agree?
[00:26:07] Speaker A: Twin Talon sounds good to me.
[00:26:11] Speaker D: And also get 17 million experience points.
[00:26:13] Speaker A: Also good.
[00:26:14] Speaker C: So, Aaron, would you like to go first or second? Because we both. Roll of 25.
[00:26:20] Speaker H: You can go ahead of me.
[00:26:22] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:26:22] Speaker G: I'm staring at the ground.
[00:26:26] Speaker B: Pond watcher, what's your initiative? I'm sorry.
[00:26:28] Speaker A: He's just so excited. He's hyperventilating.
[00:26:30] Speaker B: The red number.
[00:26:33] Speaker G: Where's the dragon?
[00:26:35] Speaker B: Oh, timid.
[00:26:35] Speaker D: What's your initial 30?
[00:26:38] Speaker B: So who's going first?
[00:26:39] Speaker A: You said temid is going first with a trap? I would probably.
Let me check it out. I think this is more my realm of expertise. I mean, unless you have something you want to do immediately.
[00:26:50] Speaker D: No, go ahead.
[00:26:52] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:26:53] Speaker G: I like the idea of them talking about who goes first.
Wolf.
[00:27:00] Speaker A: So this thing, as far as I can tell, can see it's an object. Which means me being invisible or blinding. It probably aren't an option.
[00:27:10] Speaker C: Is there like a pressure sensitive? Like what exactly sets it up?
[00:27:15] Speaker A: I think it's just a proximity.
What if I held him? So Twintown is going to take a couple actions to get a blanket and hold it in front of himself. So, basically, he's not visible to it. Like, you can't see through objects. I don't think invisibility is an illusion spell, so that wouldn't work on an object. But I think physically having a barrier in between us probably would. So he's going to hold up a blanket between him and the totem and just kind of looking down and watching his footing, he's going to walk toward it.
[00:27:48] Speaker B: All right, go ahead and start your movement. Stop. Okay, stop right there.
[00:27:54] Speaker D: So, all of two squares?
[00:27:56] Speaker A: Yes. Well, 10ft and he projectile vomit.
[00:28:04] Speaker B: There we go. That's how it works.
A beam of green light hits you or hits the blanket, and you. Please give me a reflex phase.
[00:28:16] Speaker G: Looks like me last night.
[00:28:21] Speaker A: 23.
All right, turn to stone.
[00:28:25] Speaker B: No, you are not turned to stone, but you take 15 points of poison damage.
[00:28:33] Speaker A: Do I get the sense that I passed or failed that?
[00:28:36] Speaker B: You'd get the idea that you failed that.
[00:28:38] Speaker A: And I would like to use a hero point to reroll.
[00:28:41] Speaker B: All right.
[00:28:42] Speaker A: Whoa. Well, I think I just have to take the better of the two, right? Or do I have to take the new one?
[00:28:46] Speaker D: You have to take the new one.
[00:28:47] Speaker B: Take the new one.
[00:28:48] Speaker G: Julie.
[00:28:48] Speaker A: Hero points are the worst.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: Well, you still only take 17 points of damage.
[00:28:54] Speaker G: Also, your blanket is red.
[00:28:56] Speaker B: There's a hole.
[00:28:57] Speaker D: That's the real.
[00:28:58] Speaker B: Through your blanket.
[00:29:00] Speaker G: This took a turn.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:29:02] Speaker G: Wait, does that disrupt the rest of his turn?
[00:29:05] Speaker B: No, that was a reaction. And now he may finish his turn.
[00:29:13] Speaker A: 25. Let's be there. So, I am approximately 15ft away from the totem?
[00:29:17] Speaker B: Yes. Temid.
[00:29:19] Speaker D: Temid just wants to take a look at the distance. Okay. Yeah, he's well within the range for this. First, he wants to do a perception check. He's far enough away to where?
I'm sorry, you said that was a reaction?
[00:29:33] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:29:34] Speaker D: What type of lore or check would this take? I'm assuming it's not something that he has.
[00:29:39] Speaker B: You could use the hawk lore.
[00:29:43] Speaker D: Gosh darn it. Alcohol lore.
Survival.
[00:29:48] Speaker B: No. Thievery.
[00:29:50] Speaker D: No. Diplomacy?
[00:29:52] Speaker B: No. You cannot diploma size with the pillar.
[00:29:56] Speaker D: Okay, so he's going to test it out as well. He's going to slowly creep towards it. About 10ft ahead of him is right where that line would be. And he's going to take a step forward to see if somehow this thing would be able to attack more people this round. So he's going to finish off his movement here.
[00:30:14] Speaker B: Okay, stop right there, Temit. You don't get hit.
[00:30:19] Speaker D: Okay.
So he's going to then continue to move towards it.
[00:30:25] Speaker B: All right.
[00:30:26] Speaker D: I think he only needs two actions to get up and right up next to it.
[00:30:28] Speaker B: As you get close to it, you notice that it is a wooden pole, ten foot wooden pole with a carved head of the hawk with green smoke billowing out of its nose and mouth.
[00:30:43] Speaker D: Okay. So he kind of yells back to Sareia because he knows that she has quite a bit of knowledge about the hawk. And he says this looks like a carving of Dahawk. It's got green smoke coming out of it just so you. And then he kind of describes it to the best of his abilities.
[00:30:59] Speaker E: I'll let you know what I can because I plan to roll it on my turn.
[00:31:02] Speaker D: All right. And then he kind of also just reaches out because that was only two actions to get up to it. And then the third action is kind of not attacking it but kind of poking at it with his rapier to see if there's any type of response from that.
[00:31:17] Speaker B: There is not. Okay.
[00:31:19] Speaker D: And then that's the end of his turn.
[00:31:21] Speaker B: All right.
[00:31:22] Speaker C: Brianna seeing that at least two of her companions have moved up, she will do the same. But would it be okay if I took a perception check just around the perimeter as well, just to keep an eye? Nothing sneaks up on us.
[00:31:38] Speaker B: That would be called a seek action.
[00:31:40] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: It is a one action thing. You can scan an area for signs of creatures or objects. You can either do a 30 foot cone or a 15 foot burst.
[00:31:50] Speaker C: Let's do a 30 foot cone. Why not?
[00:31:53] Speaker B: All right. And which direction are you going with that cone?
[00:31:56] Speaker C: How about into this foliage over here?
[00:31:58] Speaker B: So give me a perception check.
[00:32:02] Speaker C: How is an 18 perception?
[00:32:06] Speaker B: You lucky? You notice in the trees right in front of twin Talon, another jungle Drake.
[00:32:15] Speaker E: Oh no.
[00:32:17] Speaker C: I will call out him. Twin Talon.
[00:32:19] Speaker E: Be careful.
[00:32:19] Speaker C: There is a jungle Drake in the trees behind you.
[00:32:22] Speaker B: All right, silver.
[00:32:24] Speaker H: All right, I'm going to first action walk up behind pond Watcher. Second and third action. I'm going to cast invisibility on.
[00:32:33] Speaker B: All right, you cast invisibility on Pond Watcher. The dragon pillar, temid gives me a reflex save.
[00:32:43] Speaker D: Okay, fine.
Yeah. 32 natural 20.
[00:32:49] Speaker C: Woohoo.
[00:32:51] Speaker D: I know I don't have my camera on, but I'm flexing really hard right now.
[00:32:55] Speaker E: I can hear it. Anwar, it's okay.
[00:32:57] Speaker C: Yeah, definitely hearing your voice.
[00:33:00] Speaker B: All right, in that case, a beam shoots out of the mouth of that pillar and hits you for eleven points of damage.
[00:33:10] Speaker D: No, I think you misunderstood. Critical success.
[00:33:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. I half the damage.
I'm sorry, you're right. You took eleven poison. Damage. I forgot to say poison.
[00:33:28] Speaker E: Just a poison.
[00:33:29] Speaker D: Does it do anything?
[00:33:30] Speaker B: No, it's just.
[00:33:30] Speaker D: Does that negate all the damage?
[00:33:32] Speaker B: No. If you have a resistance to poison, then.
[00:33:35] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, I have eleven resistance to poison. Eleven. Exactly.
[00:33:39] Speaker B: Well, you take eleven points right this second, so enjoy that.
[00:33:44] Speaker D: Okay, I take the damage. All right. I was just being.
[00:33:47] Speaker B: All right. That's it for the pillar. The jungle Drake flies. 510. It lands foomp behind Brienna. I need silver pond watcher, even though it can't see you. And Surreya to make a reflex save. 30 for silver. You're fine.
[00:34:11] Speaker E: 24.
[00:34:12] Speaker B: All right. And pond watcher.
[00:34:16] Speaker G: 14.
[00:34:19] Speaker B: Give me a fortitude save now. Pond watcher, please.
[00:34:23] Speaker G: 26.
[00:34:25] Speaker B: All right, you succeed at that. As you feel more poison start to seep into your system, that you go dragon. And you shake it off. And you are not. Now.
[00:34:36] Speaker E: I'm really glad. Rest of that day, guys.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: Next.
[00:34:40] Speaker G: Nice. No effect.
[00:34:42] Speaker B: No effect. Another jungle Drake.
[00:34:45] Speaker E: Oh, my God.
[00:34:46] Speaker B: Appears in this tree.
[00:34:49] Speaker C: Oh, lord. Here we go.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: And flies towards Brianna and will attack.
[00:34:56] Speaker C: Here we go.
[00:34:57] Speaker B: It's going to use a special ability.
Two actions.
[00:35:05] Speaker C: Oh, boy.
[00:35:05] Speaker B: It bites at you first.
Fangs coming towards you.
36 versus your ac.
[00:35:15] Speaker C: That is a crit, I believe.
[00:35:18] Speaker B: Oh, boy. It is not named. Okay, you take 30 points of damage as it bites into you.
Ow.
[00:35:29] Speaker D: Oh, man.
[00:35:30] Speaker B: Then its stinger comes around and attempts to sting at you. 24 versus ac.
[00:35:39] Speaker C: That is my ac. Exactly.
[00:35:41] Speaker B: You take the Stinger damage. Not as bad as the bite. You take 16 points. And then the last fang comes at you again.
[00:35:53] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:35:54] Speaker B: And it misses with a 17.
[00:35:57] Speaker C: Yes. Absolutely. For that one, at least, she throws up her shield.
[00:36:01] Speaker B: All right, so now there's two things I need you to do based off the fangs and the stinger.
[00:36:07] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:36:08] Speaker B: I need you to give me a fortitude save.
[00:36:12] Speaker C: How's a 32?
[00:36:13] Speaker B: You're fine.
[00:36:14] Speaker C: Okay.
What's the second?
[00:36:20] Speaker B: Oh, you are grabbed by it as well.
[00:36:23] Speaker C: Oh, cool. So I'm in its maw, essentially.
[00:36:26] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:36:28] Speaker A: Too bad there isn't, like, a liberator to give you a liberating.
[00:36:33] Speaker B: This is what this says is. It's called predatory grab. It's as a grab, but the jungle Drake's grab does not end if it moves away. Instead, it carries the grab creature with it. But I can't fly anymore.
But you are effectively in its mouth and it can move with you.
[00:36:52] Speaker E: Sorry.
[00:36:52] Speaker C: Mechanically, I'm grappled. Correct.
[00:36:54] Speaker B: Correct. Okay, we'll talk about this later. But it used an offensive ability. Called draconic fury, which makes two fangs and one stinger attack in any order. Jeez.
[00:37:06] Speaker C: Okay, cool.
[00:37:08] Speaker E: That's a lot.
[00:37:09] Speaker B: And it takes two action, and it suffers all of the penalty as normal. Surreya, you have a very target rich environment.
[00:37:18] Speaker E: I do indeed.
Perfect. That's 20ft away, which is exactly as far as she can throw her bombs. She got a couple of pesh spine grenades, which are blue dragonfly grenades, and she learned how to make them. But the akujay also gave her a recipe for something called a poison smoke bomb.
So this one doesn't really have splash since it's a smoke bomb, so it goes off in a ten foot radius instead. And she's going to hurl one of those right in. Let me ping it this center square around it.
[00:37:50] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:37:51] Speaker E: Because that then will get all of that area and not hit my friends.
[00:37:55] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:37:56] Speaker E: Because a 23 hit the hit the square that it's in because I'm not even necessarily aiming for the drink. Just hit the square.
[00:38:01] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:38:02] Speaker E: Perfect. So it takes two d six poison to start, so it's going to take seven poison damage, and it has to.
[00:38:12] Speaker B: Make a fortitude save 34.
[00:38:16] Speaker E: It beats it. Damn it. But okay, it still has two d six poison damage, and it's going to do some more fun thing on my next turn. Then she's going to grab and throw a frost file as well. And a ten is not going to. And I'm sure that crit fails.
[00:38:32] Speaker B: Yes, it does.
[00:38:34] Speaker E: God damn it. I really only need to attack once per turn.
[00:38:37] Speaker B: Draw that crit card.
[00:38:39] Speaker E: Your attack ricochets and hits you near the eye. You are blinded until the end of your next turn.
[00:38:46] Speaker B: Cheese pod watcher.
[00:38:48] Speaker G: So I'm still invisible. And there is a giant cloud of poisonous smoke to your right. To my right.
[00:38:54] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:38:55] Speaker G: Okay. Therefore I will rage. Okay, yeah. I'll just move up one and swing out.
[00:39:02] Speaker B: Okay. And you are invisible so it can't make attack of opportunity.
[00:39:06] Speaker G: Oh, good to know. 32.
[00:39:08] Speaker B: That will critically hit.
[00:39:10] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:39:11] Speaker G: Oh, okay, well, so it is a critical hit. It's the first one I've gotten on world. 20.
[00:39:18] Speaker C: Woohoo.
[00:39:20] Speaker G: Normal damage. The target is sickened.
[00:39:22] Speaker B: Three. All right, so it takes 15 points of slashing damage or piercing damage.
[00:39:29] Speaker G: Piercing damage. And four points of cold damage.
[00:39:32] Speaker B: And four points of cold damage. Okay, all right.
[00:39:36] Speaker G: Which I do not believe would be doubled by the crit.
[00:39:39] Speaker B: Well, it was normal damage and it is sickened. Three.
[00:39:42] Speaker G: Yes.
[00:39:43] Speaker B: Twin talon.
[00:39:44] Speaker A: Twin Talon wants to disarm the pillar, but that literally lost him his turn. So he will not do that. And since Brianna is being grappled by this thing, he will attack it instead. So he will quick draw for his first attack. So it's a 27 versus it's flat footed.
[00:40:03] Speaker B: AC. Nice.
[00:40:05] Speaker A: On the Drake. That's grappling. Brienna jungle Drake.
[00:40:08] Speaker B: Two. That is also flat footed.
[00:40:10] Speaker A: Is sickened three. Sick and three. And he's flat footed.
[00:40:13] Speaker B: Hang on, I have so many afflictions to add.
[00:40:15] Speaker E: So how many crits does he actually get?
[00:40:22] Speaker D: Just one. Called instant death.
[00:40:24] Speaker B: Oh my goodness. What did you roll? A 27.
That is a crit.
[00:40:30] Speaker A: So the normal damage is 15. Let's see what the crit.
Calf jab. Critical effect until healed. The target is clumsy one. And takes a negative ten status penalty to its land speed. Okay, so it's 30 damage. Also it's clumsy one.
[00:40:48] Speaker E: Oh my God.
[00:40:50] Speaker C: Oh jeez.
[00:40:51] Speaker E: 30 damage. Clumsy one. Still sickened three.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: It's still alive, but not much.
So that was your first action?
[00:41:02] Speaker A: Yes.
So for my second action, I will try to do that again.
That's a 31.
[00:41:10] Speaker B: That's a crit.
[00:41:12] Speaker A: Sorry, that's actually minus four. So it's a 27 again.
[00:41:16] Speaker B: That's still a crit. Well, exactly the same.
[00:41:19] Speaker C: Good grief.
[00:41:21] Speaker D: Well, that changes everything.
[00:41:23] Speaker A: So it's 18 damage before the crit.
[00:41:26] Speaker B: Card, I was like, oh yes, I got them. I got them. All my drakes were hidden. They can't see them.
[00:41:36] Speaker A: Eye patch for you.
Triple damage.
Also there's a crit effect. The target is dazzled until healed. I think that's the lesser of the two things you need to worry about.
[00:41:49] Speaker B: So you did 18 times. Three.
[00:41:53] Speaker D: I think that's 54. How dead is this thing?
[00:41:56] Speaker E: It better be.
[00:41:57] Speaker C: Yeah, right.
[00:41:58] Speaker A: I just did 84 damage in two attacks. So hopefully it's dead.
[00:42:04] Speaker C: Yeah, me too.
[00:42:05] Speaker E: I'd be dead like four times over.
[00:42:07] Speaker B: Well, it is dead, but only because Podwatcher stabbed it first.
[00:42:14] Speaker G: And the drink goes to me.
[00:42:17] Speaker B: Brianna, you get released as this thing just dies. As twin Talon makes sashimi out of this. Drake.
[00:42:26] Speaker C: Thanks.
[00:42:27] Speaker B: All right, Temit. Oh no. Twin Talon, you still have one more action.
[00:42:32] Speaker A: Yeah, please don't take another one of my turns.
[00:42:33] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:42:36] Speaker A: Twin Talon will take his last action. He will nod at Brienna. She looks like she's okay. He'll give a thumbs up to pond watcher. And then he will move toward the pillar and he will take another attack from it because it hasn't used one.
[00:42:47] Speaker B: Since it went and actually attacks.
[00:42:49] Speaker D: It attacked me. But I don't know if that's the.
[00:42:50] Speaker B: Reaction, Matt, even or odds.
[00:42:53] Speaker A: I don't understand what your question is. I moved in. It should attack me.
[00:42:57] Speaker B: It attacks the closest creature. So since you and temid are next.
[00:43:04] Speaker D: So it's me.
No. Well, as soon as he moved into its line of sight.
[00:43:09] Speaker B: Yeah. As soon as you take the first step, it triggers it. Yeah. Timid. Sorry buddy.
[00:43:14] Speaker D: It's all right. I can take it. Boom. 28.
[00:43:18] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:43:19] Speaker C: Woohoo.
[00:43:21] Speaker D: Take half damage again.
[00:43:22] Speaker B: You take half of 19 which is nine and a half. Take ten damage. Brienna, wait.
[00:43:30] Speaker D: Don't I get to go?
[00:43:32] Speaker B: Oh yeah, you do. I guess I'll give you a turn. Go ahead.
[00:43:35] Speaker D: How dare you.
[00:43:36] Speaker A: Your turn is getting hit by the pillar. Like me.
[00:43:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
Cool.
[00:43:41] Speaker D: Okay, so temid looks over at Brianna. She looks like she's been injured pretty severely by that thing, though it is now dead. And he looks at her and he says, get back in the fight. And then he casts heel. His heightened heel. So two D, ten plus eight.
[00:43:57] Speaker A: Was this the two action version?
[00:43:59] Speaker D: Yes. Correct. It is the two action version. So you get 19 hit points back. Brianna. And then he turns.
[00:44:05] Speaker C: Thank you.
[00:44:05] Speaker D: He turns to this thing and says let's distract this one while they take the other one out. And then he just stabs forward at it with his plus one striking rapier for 23.
[00:44:17] Speaker B: You miss it?
[00:44:17] Speaker C: Oh no.
[00:44:18] Speaker D: Well that would have been nice if I'd hit it.
[00:44:20] Speaker G: You tried to stab a pole and I missed?
[00:44:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:44:24] Speaker D: He's like, it's this rapier. I'd probably get Brianna to make me another one.
[00:44:30] Speaker E: Precision weapons just don't do very well against solid mass. They need something to sink into.
[00:44:36] Speaker G: That's a good point actually.
[00:44:38] Speaker B: All right, Temid, you don't miss the pillar. You actually stab into it and your rapier bends and then it springs back out.
[00:44:47] Speaker E: Cartoon style boying and everything.
[00:44:49] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:44:50] Speaker D: This is a magical rapier so it better not break.
[00:44:53] Speaker B: Now Brianna can go. Sorry.
[00:44:56] Speaker C: Thanks. No, I'm kidding. So Brianna will take a moment to look at story and say, what is this? Can I walk through it? What am I looking at? What'd you throw?
[00:45:07] Speaker E: Do I know? Would that actually prevent her from.
[00:45:10] Speaker B: It would not.
What?
[00:45:13] Speaker E: Okay, fine. No, don't go. Don't. If it comes out, attack it. But if not, let it stew.
She's grubbing at her eyes.
[00:45:22] Speaker C: Okay, fair.
I'd like to ready an action that shouldn't move out of the cloud. She will strike at it.
[00:45:30] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:45:30] Speaker C: Though Temit has done a fantastic job of patching her up, she's still oozing slightly, so she will poke something into her wound just to kind of help with that. I believe it's a medicine check. To do battlefield medicine first. The c is 15.
I make it with a 22.
[00:45:50] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:45:50] Speaker C: And then I gain two d eight xp. Sorry, HP.
[00:45:56] Speaker A: Wait, XY. I'm taking medical field medicine.
[00:46:02] Speaker C: Then I get six back. Boom.
And then I will ready an action to strike it.
[00:46:11] Speaker B: All right, the dragon pillar does its routine. Twin talon. It makes an attack roll at you. Okay, 32.
[00:46:21] Speaker A: That is a hit, but not a crisp.
[00:46:22] Speaker B: Okay, that's really all I'm looking at. Go ahead and make a reflex save 28. You succeed. So you take half of 19 damage, and that's the dragon pillars turn the jungle.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: Drake lumbers forward, but not before I smack it.
[00:46:48] Speaker A: Snickersnack.
[00:46:50] Speaker C: Snickersnack with my skimitar.
[00:46:53] Speaker G: This is the first ever pseudo attack of opportunity we've ever gotten.
[00:46:56] Speaker E: Right?
[00:46:57] Speaker A: Yes.
Savored, everybody.
[00:47:01] Speaker G: We did it.
[00:47:04] Speaker B: That's how you.
[00:47:05] Speaker A: Well, you did it.
[00:47:07] Speaker G: But we were there.
[00:47:09] Speaker E: We witnessed help.
[00:47:11] Speaker B: All right, so make your attack roll. 20.
[00:47:15] Speaker C: Yes, but I'm going to use my hero point. Great, because we set this up pretty cool, I think.
[00:47:23] Speaker E: Yeah, we want this to actually work.
[00:47:25] Speaker A: Yeah. Roll better than a five.
[00:47:27] Speaker C: I'm sorry, I can't help myself. You keep stealing my.
[00:47:32] Speaker B: We go. Yeah. Yes.
[00:47:34] Speaker C: 30 fucking five.
[00:47:35] Speaker B: And it's a crit, that natural.
[00:47:38] Speaker A: 20.
[00:47:39] Speaker B: A critical hit. Please draw your crit card.
[00:47:42] Speaker C: Okay, so this one's called sapping slash. The crit effect is that target is fatigued. What does that mean?
[00:47:51] Speaker A: Well, it does double damage.
[00:47:53] Speaker C: Well, yes.
[00:47:56] Speaker G: Ac and saving throw.
[00:47:57] Speaker C: Yes. So it's 18 damage. And unfortunately, it's not undead, right?
[00:48:03] Speaker B: No, it's evil, but not undead.
So 18 person points of damage, and then it is also. What did you say? Fatigued.
[00:48:14] Speaker C: How much fatigued? Just says, I guess one.
[00:48:18] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:48:18] Speaker C: Just says fatigued.
[00:48:19] Speaker B: Fatigued one.
[00:48:20] Speaker C: So I'm guessing just the one. And let's look at what fatigued does, I guess fatigued.
[00:48:26] Speaker B: It takes a minus one to its ac and saving throat.
[00:48:32] Speaker C: Excellent.
[00:48:33] Speaker G: The only reason I knew that is because I have it on my character sheet already because it's happened to me, like, ten times.
[00:48:38] Speaker E: Oh, no.
[00:48:40] Speaker G: I have a whole list of negative status effects that have affected me at some point.
[00:48:45] Speaker E: Are you waiting for? Just like Yasi.
[00:48:47] Speaker B: All of them.
[00:48:49] Speaker G: Bingo.
[00:48:50] Speaker B: Also, it can't take an exploration activity, and I can't recover from it and suck it until it takes a night's threat, which I doubt it will be able to get. However, Drake. However, with that, it is going to attack, Brianna.
[00:49:08] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:49:09] Speaker B: With its draconic frenzy.
So it's going to take two stinger attacks at you.
[00:49:17] Speaker C: Great.
[00:49:17] Speaker B: Which are the lesser ones? You want that one? Actually, it's going to bite at you first. That's rude. That's the good one.
[00:49:24] Speaker C: No, take backseas. You said two stingers.
24 is my ac.
[00:49:33] Speaker B: Okay, so you take.
[00:49:37] Speaker C: Damn it. We just healed.
[00:49:39] Speaker B: Not bad. 20 points of damage.
[00:49:42] Speaker C: Ouch.
[00:49:43] Speaker B: And you're grabbed again.
[00:49:45] Speaker C: Damn it.
[00:49:48] Speaker B: But so it gets the grappled condition as well. So that's good.
And then the stinger, 29, it will hit. All right. And then the last.
[00:50:00] Speaker A: That's with multiple attack penalty. And the penalty from grabbing.
[00:50:03] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:50:04] Speaker G: Wow.
[00:50:05] Speaker C: This is like my job. I'm supposed to be hit a lot. It's okay.
[00:50:08] Speaker A: I know, but it just means that 29 with like a minus six is.
[00:50:13] Speaker C: Yeah, well, better me than you guys. So there we go. I'm keeping it busy.
[00:50:21] Speaker B: So from the only stinger that hit you, you take 14 points of damage.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: Got it.
[00:50:27] Speaker B: And then I need a fortitude save.
[00:50:30] Speaker C: 29.
[00:50:31] Speaker B: You're fine. Oh, I want this to hit so bad.
[00:50:38] Speaker C: What is with these things and trying to eat me? Stop it.
So I tried flail for flavor.
[00:50:46] Speaker B: No, you don't want to be flavorful.
[00:50:48] Speaker C: Oh, that's true.
[00:50:52] Speaker B: Soraya.
[00:50:54] Speaker E: The second phase of her smoke bomb goes off okay as it is. So I'm going to need another fort save from the Drake. But it will take five poison damage regardless.
[00:51:04] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:51:05] Speaker B: My poor Drake.
[00:51:07] Speaker C: What do you mean, poor Drake?
[00:51:09] Speaker E: Yeah, come on.
[00:51:10] Speaker A: Minding its own business, trying to eat us. We just went up and attacked it, right?
[00:51:15] Speaker B: Like 21 save bells.
[00:51:19] Speaker C: He is sick.
[00:51:19] Speaker B: And one.
[00:51:21] Speaker C: Oh, please don't be sick while I'm in your mouth.
[00:51:26] Speaker E: It's a theme that just happens because it's the smoke bomb. She is going to definitely roll her dahawk lore while she's furiously scrubbing.
[00:51:36] Speaker B: I don't think you can make it. Well, you have to be able to see it to make a lore check.
[00:51:41] Speaker C: Even with Temed's description of it.
[00:51:43] Speaker E: Like, yeah, can I just wreck my brains for any knowledge of that?
[00:51:47] Speaker B: All right, she said there's a poll with docs. I'll give you one question.
[00:51:53] Speaker E: Best way to deactivate it.
[00:51:57] Speaker B: You can either push the pillar over or if you're an expert thief, you could find some magic runes to depower it.
[00:52:07] Speaker E: Okay, she's going to shout that out. Like, you could just knock it over and it'll stop. Or you can look for the runes, but just knock it over.
So that's her first action. Her second action, she's going to throw a premade frostbile to Jasper. And with her third action, she's going to give him action.
[00:52:26] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:52:26] Speaker E: And he's going to fly over about 30ft above the Drake or 20ft above the Drake and drop it on his head.
[00:52:32] Speaker B: Okay, what is Jasper's attack?
[00:52:39] Speaker E: How do we calculate that again?
I know everything.
[00:52:43] Speaker B: It's just a straight d 20 to hit the Drake.
[00:52:46] Speaker E: Okay, well, he's just dropping it.
Does he get any bonuses for it being large?
[00:52:54] Speaker B: No, because yes, he would. But it's in a smoke cloud so it is hard to see. So they got. Yeah, they negate.
[00:53:01] Speaker E: Okay, well, he tries to drop it as best he can.
[00:53:06] Speaker B: Straight roll. 18 for little Jasper because of everything.
[00:53:11] Speaker E: That has been happening.
Oh my goodness.
[00:53:15] Speaker B: You hit?
[00:53:17] Speaker E: Yes.
Okay.
[00:53:20] Speaker B: Ridiculous.
[00:53:22] Speaker E: And it was a 31.
Well, that's using my.
[00:53:26] Speaker B: So it does nine damage damages and.
[00:53:29] Speaker E: Two cold flash shoot. And it slowed 10ft.
[00:53:33] Speaker B: Okay.
All right, pond watcher.
[00:53:39] Speaker G: Okay, so Pond Watcher sees all this happening. He sees the creature emerge from the smoke and battle with his friends. And he says in Elvin, you're not the only dragon here today. Friend uses two actions to sudden charge move double his speed. He doesn't need to do that, but it's cool.
[00:53:59] Speaker B: So he's going to do it.
[00:54:01] Speaker E: You don't want him at the pond watcher.
[00:54:03] Speaker G: He attacks. All right, he tries to find his 25 character sheets.
[00:54:07] Speaker B: All right.
[00:54:10] Speaker G: He swings the Hellbird this time.
[00:54:12] Speaker B: All right. 33 critical.
[00:54:15] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:54:16] Speaker G: Critical. Oh boy.
[00:54:18] Speaker A: That's what you do.
[00:54:19] Speaker G: That was really good. Damage. Roll. Okay, hold on.
[00:54:22] Speaker E: Calculating my multiple cards, so I had to lose my windows open.
[00:54:27] Speaker B: Okay, hold on a second.
Cut.
[00:54:31] Speaker G: Straps the target's armor. Check. Penalty doubles. Oh, great.
But presumably also double damage, I would assume. Right, that is 36 slashing damage. Four called damage.
[00:54:47] Speaker C: Oh, jeez.
[00:54:50] Speaker B: And you have one more action.
[00:54:53] Speaker G: And I'm going to use that action to enact a furious finish. Nice. This is round three of combat around two.
[00:55:03] Speaker B: Two.
[00:55:04] Speaker G: So I have eight rounds of rage left.
[00:55:08] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:55:09] Speaker G: So I'm going to enact a strike and if I hit, I can get that as a bonus. Ooh, bad roll. 18 to hit.
[00:55:17] Speaker E: That will pay Jeff for hit with an 18.
[00:55:20] Speaker B: That will hit. Yes, because of all of the status effects.
[00:55:24] Speaker G: 17 slashing damage. Four cold damage. An additional eight slashing damage from the furious finish.
[00:55:32] Speaker E: Oh, my.
[00:55:32] Speaker G: Exhausting my rage into his face.
[00:55:35] Speaker E: I think that's 29 damage.
[00:55:37] Speaker B: I have this little red pop up that keeps showing up when I keep trying to subtract things. It says character update results in no change. I guess hero lab doesn't go below zero. So you kill it.
[00:55:52] Speaker C: It drops me again.
[00:55:57] Speaker B: All right, twin talent, it is your turn.
[00:56:03] Speaker A: If I hear that there is magic runes that can be disabled, I will attempt to do them since I am an expert thief.
[00:56:09] Speaker B: All right, then you can expertly try and disarm this. Disable it.
[00:56:12] Speaker A: I have a plus 14. I assume I will roll a natural one. Here we go.
No, a nine.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: So 23, you manage to find the runes, but it's going to take a little bit more to actually erase them.
[00:56:26] Speaker A: Okay. Doing fever like that, it's two actions, so ain't combat. All right, so for my last action, I will sheath my sword.
[00:56:38] Speaker D: Okay, tevit, I'm going to try to knock it over, I guess, because I don't have fevery.
[00:56:44] Speaker B: Are you an expert in athletics?
[00:56:49] Speaker D: I am definitely not.
[00:56:52] Speaker C: I am.
[00:56:53] Speaker B: Okay. It seems to be rooted in the ground too strongly.
[00:56:58] Speaker D: Okay, so he's just going to hit it again. He's going to try to hit it.
[00:57:03] Speaker B: All right.
[00:57:04] Speaker D: Nothing else I can do.
[00:57:06] Speaker A: Hit it and quit it.
[00:57:07] Speaker D: 33 to hit.
[00:57:09] Speaker B: That will hit.
[00:57:10] Speaker C: Woohoo.
[00:57:12] Speaker B: Yes.
But it doesn't look like you've done any damage to it.
[00:57:19] Speaker D: This thing is impervious. Yeah, I don't know. He's going to attack again. All right, right here he swings, but it's not a 26 because it's minus four for 22.
[00:57:32] Speaker B: That will miss.
[00:57:34] Speaker D: Okay. And for his final action, he puts a hand on twin Talon. Kind of like patches up a little bit of a wound on twin Talon and he rolls a 20 for his medicine check, obviously, because it's an automatic success for him. Now for battle medicine. And so twin Talon gets two d eight plus ten back.
All right, 18 hit points back.
[00:58:01] Speaker B: So twin Talon goes up. 18 hit points. Noise.
All right, Brianna, it is your turn.
[00:58:08] Speaker C: So, Brianna, feeling rather sheepish and we'll.
[00:58:12] Speaker B: Have to think about that. No.
[00:58:15] Speaker D: Come on.
[00:58:16] Speaker C: Why are you doing this to me?
[00:58:21] Speaker F: Our heroes have dealt with some of the worst blows yet. Dysentery from the forests. They have also discovered the totems. Having dealt with one, how many more are there? Will they find them? Find out the answers to these questions and more on the next episode of the Crack Die podcast.
