[00:00:40] Speaker A: Hello, everyone. My name is Haya, and I play Brianna on the show. I wanted to take a minute to thank you again to coming back to episode 22. It's a man's, man's world, and we are very, very close to the end of book one. We're planning something a little bit special, so if you have a moment, we please urge you to check the show notes or our socials for a questionnaire that we will be putting out with the hopes that you will have some questions for us that we will be reading and answering on air. Anyway, I don't want to keep you any longer. I hope you have a wonderful time listening to this one again. This is episode 22. It's a man's, man's World. [00:01:30] Speaker B: Previously on the Cracked Die podcast. [00:01:32] Speaker C: Our heroes finally finished exploring the Citadel. Upon finishing their exploration, they discovered a mysterious tunnel. After following that tunnel, they arrived back in Breech Hill. Is the town safe? Have monsters overrun the town? How is that poor halfling feeling? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:03] Speaker D: Welcome to the 22nd episode of the Cracked Die podcast. [00:02:10] Speaker A: I know what that was. [00:02:11] Speaker D: I don't know either. I was going to start saying the thing we always say about weeks and I'm giving up. [00:02:16] Speaker A: Yeah, good. [00:02:17] Speaker B: I was holding myself back. [00:02:18] Speaker D: I know. Visibly, I can see that you have tied yourself to the chair. [00:02:24] Speaker B: I needed it. [00:02:28] Speaker D: We are now into the legal level ages of podcasts past the 21st one. Now 22. You're said this thing. [00:02:37] Speaker B: Same thing at 18. [00:02:38] Speaker D: I know. [00:02:39] Speaker E: I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22. [00:02:42] Speaker D: There you go. What's that song? [00:02:47] Speaker B: No one likes you when you're 20. [00:02:48] Speaker E: Whatever. [00:02:49] Speaker F: 23. [00:02:50] Speaker B: 23. That's next episode. [00:02:51] Speaker D: That's next episode. Okay. [00:02:52] Speaker F: Can we please make that the name of the episode? [00:02:55] Speaker D: Sure. [00:02:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:57] Speaker A: It is technically a song. [00:02:58] Speaker D: Yeah, it is technically a song. As you can tell, Anwar is back. Hello. [00:03:05] Speaker F: I'm sorry to everyone that has to listen to me. No, please praise me, everyone, so that it. Come on, praise me to make up for my. [00:03:14] Speaker D: On the flip side, we don't have Christine. Oh. I mean, boo all the. I know. But we do have an adorable puppy sitting in her place, so that's okay. All right. Anyway, let's get to the game. Anwar, since you just got back and temid just hit level three as he's been resting with pond watchers sleeping bag. Would you like to share with the group? [00:03:44] Speaker B: Yeah. When we left you, we piled all of our blankets and sleeping bags on top of you because you were so drained. [00:03:51] Speaker D: And nothing that lets you sleep better than a weighted blanket. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Yeah, or like eight of them. [00:03:56] Speaker D: Well, five, but one is soaked with pond Watcher sweat. [00:04:01] Speaker B: If you remember, that's the one directly on your skin. [00:04:04] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [00:04:04] Speaker B: And then the other ones are on top of it, so it never evaporates. [00:04:07] Speaker D: That's disgusting. You must smell, like amazing. [00:04:12] Speaker E: Well, different. Designed for the arctic conditions. And it's very hot here, so you will probably sweat. [00:04:18] Speaker D: Ode the pond watcher. [00:04:20] Speaker A: Ode pond watcher. [00:04:22] Speaker D: A new clone by Jemid. [00:04:25] Speaker B: A new clone. We're all just going to let that go? No, I miss Christine already. [00:04:32] Speaker E: I would clone Pond Watcher. Have a second one. My name is Ocean Looker. [00:04:38] Speaker B: Is that your backup character? [00:04:40] Speaker E: Yes. [00:04:41] Speaker D: All right, Anwar, let's find out about third level temid. [00:04:45] Speaker F: Okay, so third level is pretty good. I get second level spells, which are pretty cool. We'll get into those as they come up. I also got a second level feat called ward medic. And what that means is I'm able to treat two people at the same time, treat wounds instead of just one. [00:05:08] Speaker E: Wow. [00:05:09] Speaker F: So that means we can increase the number of people that get healed after. [00:05:13] Speaker D: Two at once or two at once. One person than the other. [00:05:16] Speaker B: Well, for your ten minute heal, yes. Oh, that's cool. [00:05:21] Speaker F: Yeah, I'm pretty happy with that. There were other ones which allowed, like, for example, continuous is treat medicine. You could recover more quickly and heal someone else or heal the same person more quickly. But this allows you to do two people at once. [00:05:36] Speaker B: You can take the other one later, right? [00:05:38] Speaker F: Yes, I can. [00:05:39] Speaker B: So you can two now and then later on you can do two and it's faster. [00:05:42] Speaker A: Very cool. [00:05:43] Speaker D: That's really cool. What else? Anything else? [00:05:48] Speaker F: That's about it. Besides more hit points and that kind. [00:05:50] Speaker D: Of stuff and some spells you're going to pick up. Oh. [00:05:52] Speaker F: I also am now an expert in medicine. [00:05:55] Speaker D: That's even better. So that's going to help you with that check? [00:05:58] Speaker F: Yes, it is. [00:05:58] Speaker D: Make it even easier. Great. [00:06:00] Speaker B: So I find it interesting, and I might be wrong about this, but the DC for treat runes is the same no matter what. Is that correct? [00:06:06] Speaker F: It is. However, you can increase the difficulty if you choose and then you get a static bonus to the amount of hit points that get healed. [00:06:14] Speaker B: Okay, cool. I was just thinking about that because in the beginning, it seems some of these things are tough, but since all of our skills go up, anything you've trained goes up by one every level, and then two if you increase the proficiency, the DCs. I feel like we're going to out level them pretty quick if they just stay at 15, so that's good. [00:06:31] Speaker D: But yes, like Anwar said, you can increase the DC to do more things. Now, I want to talk about something that we've butted heads about a little bit, and that's identifying magic items. Okay. I, between the episodes, did a bunch of research. Thanks to the archives of Nephis, the Piso forums, and the piso community leader who responded to my question, I now know how you identify magic items. [00:07:07] Speaker B: Hooray. [00:07:08] Speaker D: So first step, detect magic. As we discovered, you can ignore items that you already know are around you. So the plus one weapons you have, you can ignore those when you use detect magic. Right. So if you detect magic in that ten minutes, you can find the item. [00:07:26] Speaker B: Can you? [00:07:27] Speaker D: Yes. [00:07:28] Speaker B: Where does it say that? [00:07:29] Speaker D: Because it doesn't. [00:07:30] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:31] Speaker D: That's what I had to get clarified. You don't hone in on it, but in ten minutes you're also searching. Like, you're like, okay, there's magic in this room. Let's dig around. Okay. [00:07:41] Speaker B: So just the effect of doing it for ten minutes. [00:07:44] Speaker D: Yes. Okay, got it. I guess they're assuming you're not just going, is there magic with your palm up in the air? [00:07:49] Speaker B: Well, I mean, that's how the spell is written. [00:07:51] Speaker D: That is right. So there was some clarification. So I appreciated that. [00:07:55] Speaker B: Cool. [00:07:55] Speaker D: Once you find the Item, you then use an appropriate knowledge check. So if you look at the item, I'll be like, oh, what's your arcane bonus? So if it's magical because you're detecting magic, if it's an arcane magic spell on it, you would roll your knowledge check and it is a static DC. Ten. [00:08:16] Speaker B: Static DC, I think. [00:08:18] Speaker D: Let me double check. Hang on, I have notes. Okay. [00:08:22] Speaker B: The only reason I ask that is because my skills that I'm good at are plus eleven at this point. So I would assume if there was like a wizard. [00:08:31] Speaker D: No, it is not setting. [00:08:32] Speaker G: Okay. [00:08:33] Speaker D: It is then ten plus the item level or the spell level to detect, to learn what it is. And that works with any type of magic. So it could be arcane. It could be primal. Primal. That's the word I was looking for. It could be any of those. [00:08:49] Speaker E: Divine. [00:08:49] Speaker D: Yes. [00:08:50] Speaker B: Is the skill you use determined by the spell which is that it used to make the item. [00:08:54] Speaker D: Correct. [00:08:55] Speaker B: Okay, cool. [00:08:56] Speaker E: Neat. [00:08:57] Speaker D: I'm glad we. It was really bothering me. It was something that was very confusing to me of, like, how do people identify things? And I kind of just was like, here's the items you guys found it. And you. Sure. But that's how we're going to do it from now on. [00:09:12] Speaker E: Cool. So what is like a plus one weapon? [00:09:15] Speaker D: It would be a DC eleven. Right. But what type of it depends on what type. Depends on what spell it's on it. So it'd be like arcane, but I. [00:09:24] Speaker B: Think he's just saying plus one is a. Oh, yeah. [00:09:26] Speaker D: So it'd be crafting rune. It would be a crafting. [00:09:29] Speaker B: Crafting. [00:09:30] Speaker D: Yes. You can always. Yes. With potency runes. I believe so. [00:09:34] Speaker B: Okay. That's just interesting. [00:09:35] Speaker D: Cool. [00:09:36] Speaker B: This is a whole brand new world, right? [00:09:39] Speaker D: It is. And I could still be a little bit wrong, but I did a lot of looking and reading on how this works because other people did have the same questions as us. So good to know that we're not alone in these. Yeah. [00:09:52] Speaker B: We're not in a bunch of dummies. [00:09:54] Speaker A: I am. [00:09:57] Speaker F: Don't say that. [00:10:00] Speaker D: When we last left you all, you had left the pickled pig's ear through the secret tunnel after messing with a poor halflings mine and taking some alcohol. Yes. [00:10:16] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. We did do that, didn't we? [00:10:17] Speaker D: You wander back through the secret passageway for about 2 hours and you return back to the citadel basement, which is completely dark. However, Soraya did not come with you. She decided to kind of scout around town and make sure that everyone is still okay. Because you were all very concerned about people, the churikas or the boggards, coming through this tunnel and attacking everyone. Yeah. [00:10:54] Speaker B: And I was curious as to whether or not the proprietor of the pickled. Is it pickled pigs ear? [00:11:00] Speaker D: Pickled pigs ear. I believe it's on your map. [00:11:03] Speaker B: The pickled ear. [00:11:04] Speaker D: The pickled ear, yes. Sorry. They sell pickled pigs ears? [00:11:07] Speaker B: Yeah, they sell pickled everything. [00:11:08] Speaker D: They sell pickled everything. [00:11:09] Speaker B: I heard the advertisement. [00:11:10] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:11:10] Speaker B: I think that was what I heard in episode ten that I was like, oh, yeah. [00:11:14] Speaker D: It's like I foreshadowed. It's like those. [00:11:18] Speaker G: Don't give yourself the credit. [00:11:20] Speaker D: It's like those ads mean something. Some of them, but yeah. [00:11:24] Speaker B: So we were concerned about the proprietor of the pickled ear because she wasn't there. [00:11:30] Speaker D: Correct. [00:11:30] Speaker B: And the two people there, I don't think, knew exactly where she was. [00:11:34] Speaker D: Right. They said she would be back when it opened. However, you guys left, and they're opening in about an hour. So you guys left, back through the secret tunnel and went back to the citadel, leaving Sareia to kind of look around the city to make sure everyone is still okay. So you arrive back, you make your way cautiously through the pitch blackness, back out, and then back up to the secret room. Secret room that you've been storing things in. Your weapons. Your party members. Like temid, who's still asleep, sweating profusely. [00:12:16] Speaker B: Sweating out the bad. [00:12:17] Speaker D: Yeah, sweating out the bad. [00:12:19] Speaker E: He's getting a good sleep sweat going. That's how you know it's working. [00:12:23] Speaker D: He's weighted down under everyone's blankets and sleeping bags. [00:12:28] Speaker F: Very cozy. [00:12:28] Speaker D: And as you open the door, you see a goblin in a white dress patting his forehead, taking his temperature. Don't ask how. With a little stethoscope. [00:12:43] Speaker F: Obviously, rectily. [00:12:45] Speaker B: She's doing it with a stethoscope. [00:12:47] Speaker D: Yes, obviously, rectally. [00:12:49] Speaker E: She's a Goblin. [00:12:50] Speaker D: A goblin stethoscope. [00:12:52] Speaker F: Oh, hell yeah. Made out of, like, glass string. [00:12:55] Speaker E: Yeah, it's the top of, like, a can that they open. [00:12:59] Speaker B: It'll explode randomly. [00:13:02] Speaker D: And you see that the goblin nurse leaves temid as you guys come in, scampers away. [00:13:08] Speaker A: Thank you for looking out for him. Okay, bye. [00:13:12] Speaker D: She turns around and gives you two thumbs up. [00:13:14] Speaker B: I'd like to check to make sure he's still alive. [00:13:16] Speaker D: Yes. And he has all of his fingers and toes. Ooh. But does he have hair down there on his feet? [00:13:25] Speaker A: Brienna? [00:13:26] Speaker D: On his feet? I don't believe Temit has hair on his feet. But I don't think Temit ever had hair on his feet, so it's okay. All right, so you guys walk in there and he is. [00:13:35] Speaker E: Let's just watch him sleep groggily. [00:13:38] Speaker D: Waking up. [00:13:38] Speaker E: No one wakes up. [00:13:39] Speaker B: Stare at him from very close until he wakes up. [00:13:42] Speaker F: One more minute, mom. [00:13:44] Speaker A: Brianna will shake her head and then go down one knee and gently shake him awake. [00:13:49] Speaker D: So before Temid wakes up. Oh, no. [00:13:53] Speaker E: Uh oh. [00:13:54] Speaker G: Dream sequence. [00:13:56] Speaker F: A dragon falls, doesn't it? [00:13:58] Speaker A: Like an anvil. [00:13:59] Speaker D: Your sleep hasn't been the most restful. And you're not sweating from the weight of the blankets. You're sweating from the dreams that you are having. [00:14:08] Speaker A: 1010. [00:14:09] Speaker D: In your sleep, you hear heavy breathing as if someone has been running. Then two spots of blurry white light sway into your vision. You realize the heavy breathing is your own hot, rancid breath caught behind a mask of some sort. The blurry light begins to come into focus as you see rope tying your hands together with another rope leading to your waist and then to the waist of someone in front of you. You are being led down a twisting hallway. The acrid smell of copper stings your nose. You feel weak and weary as if you haven't slept or eaten in weeks. As you try to look around, the mask restrains your movements. You catch a glimpse of plush red curtains, the dull of a large group gathered. You feel the familiar tug of the ropes making you move forward again. You stumble up a step. Finally you hear it, a sickening, sweet, bare toned voice coming from just outside your view. Yes, this is a fine specimen. Still has some fight in it. You hear a little chuckle come from the crowd as a hand firmly pushes you to your knees, fresh from a gathering we recently held. You feel the weight of a hand on your shoulder and hear someone walking around you, the murmur of the crowd as they are yelling things in a language you don't quite understand. After a few moments, the din of the crowd subsides and you are roughly pulled to your feet. Good. You have fetched me quite a sum of money. I knew getting you is worth it for all the trouble you have caused us. With that, you feel a thwack as you are punched in the gut. A combination of blood and bile ruptures from your mouth, getting caught in the barbaric mask they have put on you. Your head is pulled up and you are finally able to make out two features of your captor. Pale skin around deep green eyes. You are dragged away to be put to holding until the auction ends. As you are pulled down another tunnel, you hear laughing, and from that you wake up. [00:16:21] Speaker F: Oh my God. [00:16:22] Speaker A: How do you wake? [00:16:23] Speaker F: You know, you pat him, right? Brianna pats him, and he immediately jerks and he gets up and kind of scoots backwards off of the, you know, like towards something away from you. And he doesn't really say anything. He just kind of looks around, looks all over the room. And then eventually his eyes kind of like, you see the realization, like, okay, I know where I am. I know the people I'm here with. And then he just kind of pauses for a second, and then he kind of smirks and he says, startled me there for a second. I thought maybe it was another one of those boggards after me. [00:17:04] Speaker D: No, just us. [00:17:05] Speaker B: We let you sleep a little bit. You seemed in some sorts this morning after last night's episode or yesterday's episode with the whites. But we explored downstairs. It appears that when we disabled the runes in the room with the whites, any other animated skeletons felt inanimate. But we did find a room. Looks like a records room at the back of it, and a tunnel which led from the keep to a well hidden door in Breechell, the Pickled pig storeroom pickled pig. [00:17:40] Speaker F: Did they have anything there that might, I don't know, quench my thirst? [00:17:45] Speaker B: I brought this jar of pickles. There's still some juice left. He'll hold out the pickle juice to you. [00:17:49] Speaker F: Maybe we can ferment them. [00:17:50] Speaker G: Point Silver will walk up and he'll say, all right, Tim, you were looking like a tree that was begging a dog at this point. So here you go. And he'll pop out. It's basically like Everclear. [00:18:05] Speaker F: He looks at it, he's like, start. [00:18:07] Speaker E: The day off right. [00:18:09] Speaker F: I appreciate it that he still pours it in a mug and drinks it. [00:18:13] Speaker G: And before he does that, he'll give you, like, a hug. Be like, oh, worries about you, my boy. Glad you're doing all right. [00:18:19] Speaker F: I appreciate it, old man. [00:18:21] Speaker G: And while he's hugging you, he's going to try to palm something onto your person. [00:18:25] Speaker B: Oh, I thought it's going to pick his pocket. I've played enough video games to know this is how you kill people with grenade. [00:18:35] Speaker G: So it's against your perception. DC. [00:18:38] Speaker D: Okay. [00:18:38] Speaker G: Which is ten. Plus your modifier. Modifier. You don't roll anything, so just tell me what that number is. [00:18:44] Speaker D: Oh, that's right. [00:18:44] Speaker G: See if I beat it. [00:18:47] Speaker D: 18. [00:18:48] Speaker G: Okay. It was a 19 on the die. [00:18:51] Speaker F: So you pass? [00:18:52] Speaker G: Yes. [00:18:53] Speaker F: So I don't know that you put something. [00:18:54] Speaker G: You don't know that I put something on your body. [00:18:56] Speaker D: Okay. [00:18:57] Speaker E: It's ticking, though. [00:18:59] Speaker F: Anybody hear that ticking noise? [00:19:01] Speaker B: No. [00:19:01] Speaker G: And we can adjudicate that later. But he does give you, like, a big hug. Scrawny old man hug. [00:19:06] Speaker F: He hugs you very strongly right back. [00:19:08] Speaker G: And he said, all right, you know, worried about you. Worried about you right there. Glad you're doing all right. [00:19:15] Speaker F: I'm doing fine. Thanks for being concerned. [00:19:17] Speaker E: Although I have some bad news. [00:19:19] Speaker F: What's the bad news? [00:19:21] Speaker E: Sareia is dead. [00:19:23] Speaker F: What? [00:19:24] Speaker A: Hot watcher. [00:19:25] Speaker E: She was eaten by a bugger. [00:19:27] Speaker F: No, it was my fault. I wasn't there. [00:19:30] Speaker E: She said, please, damn it, save me. And then was swallowed by a giant frog mouth. [00:19:35] Speaker F: He falls down to his knees and he puts his hands in the air, like, why, Kaden? Why did you let me sleep through this? [00:19:42] Speaker E: Oh, and Kaden? Kalin appeared and said you were a big disappointment. [00:19:47] Speaker F: I agree with. [00:19:49] Speaker A: What is wrong with you? [00:19:50] Speaker F: He's pounding the ground right now. [00:19:52] Speaker E: Just kidding. [00:19:53] Speaker G: I'm sorry. [00:19:54] Speaker F: You're killing what? [00:19:55] Speaker E: I'm kidding. [00:19:57] Speaker F: What about a kid? [00:19:58] Speaker E: I'm joking. [00:19:59] Speaker A: He's doing the joke. [00:20:00] Speaker E: I'm yoking with eggs. [00:20:02] Speaker B: Soraya is not dead. She stayed in town. [00:20:05] Speaker F: Okay. [00:20:05] Speaker D: Good. [00:20:06] Speaker B: Also, Kaden Kalen didn't appear to us. [00:20:10] Speaker F: You don't know that. [00:20:11] Speaker E: Well, I did drink some of that strange smelling liquid and I thought I saw him. [00:20:16] Speaker A: Is that why you're so punchy this morning? [00:20:18] Speaker E: Maybe. [00:20:18] Speaker B: You're lucky you can still see. [00:20:20] Speaker F: Even temit only drank a very small amount of it. But he needs it because he's sobering up. [00:20:27] Speaker B: Powered by booze, pretty much. I feel like it's like a popeye thing. It's like. [00:20:32] Speaker F: No, the cumulative hangover would kill him. [00:20:35] Speaker A: So he's basically. [00:20:36] Speaker F: It's an archer reference. [00:20:37] Speaker D: Yes. [00:20:38] Speaker A: Brianna seeing the reaction she got at him waking up and finding a very close familiarity, she's definitely seen that sort of reaction before. She will file that away so she won't be like, want to talk about it right now? [00:20:51] Speaker D: Want to talk about her feelings in. [00:20:52] Speaker F: Front of everybody over a pint of ice cream? [00:20:55] Speaker A: Sure. [00:20:57] Speaker G: To get down to it, we still got some things to explore. Possibly undead to fight. So we're going to. [00:21:03] Speaker B: Do we? [00:21:04] Speaker G: Well, I said possibly. I don't know, 100%. [00:21:07] Speaker B: I think we explored this whole place. It's empty now. Other than the goblins and tilecha. [00:21:14] Speaker G: Did we explore the whole place? [00:21:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:15] Speaker D: As far as you guys know? Yeah. [00:21:17] Speaker G: So we didn't find what's her face? [00:21:20] Speaker B: No, we saw tracks, and it looks like she came down through the long passage, went to the door, did something, and then ran away. [00:21:29] Speaker D: Because you also found remnants of a necromantic. Necromantic, necromantic, necro romantic necromantic. No, that's necromancy. Necromantic, necromantic ritual in the basement. Which you can also assume caused the whites and the skeletons to rise. [00:21:56] Speaker B: Right. So we think she came in, did whatever, because it looked like she went to the door that goes into the crypt, saw whatever she saw, and ran away. Because the footprints seem to be more metered coming in and then hurried going out, if I remember correctly. [00:22:16] Speaker A: Yes, I was looking at them with you. [00:22:18] Speaker E: Well, let's Collect Kalmat and bring him to justice. [00:22:23] Speaker G: We also got to open those treasure. I mean, coffins. [00:22:27] Speaker E: Oh, right. No, we aren't doing that. [00:22:31] Speaker G: I'm sorry. [00:22:32] Speaker E: We're going to the bathroom together while you guys go get Kalmot. [00:22:38] Speaker G: I'm an old man. I need help peeing. Let's go. [00:22:41] Speaker E: It's true. [00:22:41] Speaker A: I'm not going to ask questions. [00:22:44] Speaker D: Okay, so who's going where? [00:22:46] Speaker F: Timid's going to get Kalmot. [00:22:48] Speaker D: Kalmot. Okay, Kalmot for Brianna. [00:22:51] Speaker A: We have a whole bunch of things in here, don't we? [00:22:53] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:22:54] Speaker B: We can meet back up and grab everything. [00:22:56] Speaker A: Okay. So I'll also go. [00:22:58] Speaker D: All right. Kalmot with you, twin. Where are you going? [00:23:00] Speaker B: I'm going to go talk to Yalecha. [00:23:03] Speaker D: Okay. And then you two are going to the bathroom. All right. So the two of you going to deal with Kalmot. You make your way back up to where the goblins are. You see a very haggard looking Kalmot, not beaten up, really, just like his halfling feet are bare. And it kind of looks like the goblins haven't let him sleep. Or if they have let him sleep, not very long. And he just looks at you and he's just like, please take me back to. Please, please. [00:23:44] Speaker F: So Tevin turns to Brianna. [00:23:46] Speaker B: And I was never really comfortable with. [00:23:48] Speaker D: Having him tied up here, but it's. [00:23:51] Speaker B: Good to liberate him and bring him. [00:23:53] Speaker F: Back so that he can face justice. [00:23:55] Speaker A: Indeed. [00:23:56] Speaker F: So then I'm guessing they just walk up to him, maybe hand another week's worth of rations because they're like candy to these rob goblins and be like, thanks a lot, guys. [00:24:05] Speaker A: All right, just speak to the leader. Be like, has there been anything of note since we've been away? [00:24:12] Speaker D: No, it's been very quiet. It's like you came through and got rid of all the problems. By any chance, can we go back downstairs? [00:24:23] Speaker A: We certainly believe so, yes. [00:24:26] Speaker D: That is such a relief. We have those dragon neighbors and they are so nice. [00:24:33] Speaker A: Oh, Pipin and Sarf. [00:24:35] Speaker D: Yes. We just call them the mighty ones. [00:24:38] Speaker A: Yes, the mighty dragons are still there. Yulecha is downstairs as well. I think twin Talon went to speak to her, but everything else should be taken care of. [00:24:51] Speaker D: Oh, thank you. [00:24:51] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:24:52] Speaker D: And with that, they gather up their bows and arrows and run down. And as they run by, you see them kind of like knocking into Kalmont, like a green tide flowing through. [00:25:04] Speaker F: After the first few, he lets the first couple happen, Temit does. And then he kind of like pulls them a little bit closer so that he doesn't get completely annihilated by. [00:25:12] Speaker D: No, he's just. He's kind of. In this day, have you ever stayed up for, like 48 hours? No. Okay. It's not fun. You start to go, like. You start seeing things and you just kind of like focus on a single point for sometimes. At least I did when I did it once. Never again. [00:25:28] Speaker F: Why did you do it? [00:25:30] Speaker D: College? It was a really intense axis and allies game. I wish I had. Good story now. [00:25:36] Speaker B: I understand. [00:25:37] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:25:38] Speaker B: I've seen the movie 48 hours, and that was pretty good. [00:25:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:41] Speaker D: Wow. [00:25:42] Speaker B: And another 48 hours, I'm old, so. [00:25:48] Speaker D: He'S just kind of like letting him push by and you pull him back and he's good to go. All right, twin Talon, you go down to see Yalecha? Yes, she's down there just chilling. [00:25:59] Speaker B: Hi, Yalecha. I just wanted to come and say after we spoke yesterday that we have gone down. It looks as if everything that had kicked you out, the cultists and the undead are taken care of. So if you want to go back downstairs, if that's where you feel more comfortable, it should be safe to go. I don't know if you've thought any more about what we talked about with the bramble brashers, but like I said, I'd be happy to talk to Helba if that's what you wanted to do. [00:26:26] Speaker D: She nods and he's kind of very contemplative. She's like, I haven't quite decided yet I might actually stay in this area. It's a little higher and I can watch out for any creatures that might come in and disrupt them. Kind of be a guard for them above ground. Okay. Rather than joining them outright. [00:26:51] Speaker B: This isn't our place to tell you what to do, but yeah. [00:26:54] Speaker D: Okay. [00:26:55] Speaker B: Just wanted to let you know that everything should be good to go downstairs and we'll be heading out. We're going to take our prisoner that goblins have had and collect our things and be out of your hair. But maybe we'll cross paths again. [00:27:06] Speaker D: Yes. And with that, she Kind of goes back to her cleaning up of her tent and making it a little bit bigger because she has more space up here and looking very homey. [00:27:15] Speaker B: All right, then Fintown will head back to the room to collect the pile of weapons that we have been squirreling away in this room. [00:27:22] Speaker D: All right, now, you two, silver and. [00:27:26] Speaker A: Pond watcher in the bathroom, no less. [00:27:30] Speaker D: Yes. First of all, how are you seeing? Because your only light source is left. [00:27:34] Speaker E: I have a torch. [00:27:35] Speaker D: Okay. [00:27:35] Speaker G: Light as well. [00:27:36] Speaker D: All right, so you light a torch and you go back into where the other crypts are, and you start to open them carefully. With a crowbar. With a crowbar. With a crowbar. [00:27:47] Speaker E: I know we told twin Talon we wouldn't do this, but I really want to. [00:27:52] Speaker G: There'll be some goodies in here for us, I'm sure. And we're not being disrespectful to the like. We're not doing nothing to them. [00:27:59] Speaker E: I mean, they're hell knights and they left them here. [00:28:01] Speaker G: Anyway, they abandoned them, and he hates hell knights. And we can use stuff to kill hell knights if necessary. I don't necessarily condone that, but all right, whatever. [00:28:11] Speaker D: Silver. What is your arcana bonus plus ten? In the first one, you find a feather step stone. In the next one, you find a monkey pin. And in the last one, you find warpool sword doubling rings. Oh, my gosh. A feather step stone. This stone, usually shaped as a cabochon. Cabochon is a small chunk of amber with a bit of feather or flying insect caught within. When you activate the stone, you ignore the effect of any difficult terrain and greater terrain you move through until the end of your turn. You are required to be an expert in acrobatics. [00:29:06] Speaker A: Do you want to know how it's pronounced? [00:29:08] Speaker D: Yes, please. Cabbishon cabbageon. [00:29:11] Speaker B: What is the definition of cabbage on, since you have it open? [00:29:13] Speaker A: A gem, polished but not faceted. [00:29:16] Speaker B: Interesting. Okay. [00:29:17] Speaker G: Is there a limit on that? [00:29:18] Speaker D: It is a one time use. It is a consumable magical talisman, and you affix it to armor. [00:29:23] Speaker G: How much is it worth? [00:29:25] Speaker D: Eight gold. [00:29:26] Speaker B: It's like the Albert claw that you had. [00:29:27] Speaker D: All right, so the next thing was a monkey pin. [00:29:31] Speaker E: Turns you into monkey. Turns you into a monkey. [00:29:33] Speaker D: Come on. This small brass pin is in the shape of a monkey climbing a tree. Yes. When you activate this talisman, use a climb action. If you succeed, you move your full speed during the climb. If you roll a critical failure, you get a regular failure instead. One time use one time use. Magical talisman. Six gold silver. [00:29:53] Speaker E: Willis turned me into a monkey. [00:29:55] Speaker G: I'm sorry, but it will not. Can't lie to you about that. [00:29:59] Speaker B: But we'll do that one day. [00:30:01] Speaker D: I promise. All right, so this doubling ring is an invocation invested magical item. So, invested trait means you can only wear ten magical items that have the invested trait. None of the magical effects of the item apply if the character hasn't invested in it, nor can it be activated through the character, though this character still gains its normal benefit from wearing the physical item like a hat, keeping the rain off of their head. This item consists of two magically linked rings, an intricate, gleaming golden ring with a square cut ruby, and a thick, plain iron ring. When you wield a mealy weapon in the hand wearing the golden ring, the weapon's fundamental runes are replicated onto any mealy weapon you wear in the hand wearing the iron ring, fundamental runes are weapon proficiency and striking, which add an item bonus to attack rolls and extra weapon damage dice, respectively. Any fundamental runes on the weapon in the hand wearing the iron ring are suppressed. Replication functions only if you wear both rings, and it ends as soon as you cease wielding the amelia weapon in one of your hands. Consequently, the benefit doesn't apply to throne attacks or if you're holding a weapon but not wielding it, such as holding a one handed weapon that requires two hands to wield. [00:31:14] Speaker G: So basically, if you have a weapon that does stuff, you can do stuff with two weapons two handed. Is that what that does? [00:31:23] Speaker D: So if you have a weapon that has really cool effects on it and the other weapon doesn't, by wielding the rings, you can transfer the cool effects to both of the weapons. [00:31:34] Speaker G: That's really cool. [00:31:36] Speaker D: Right? [00:31:36] Speaker B: And you said it was proficiency runes and damage runes. [00:31:41] Speaker D: Fundamental runes are the weapon. Potency and striking. [00:31:44] Speaker B: Okay, potency and striking. So it's the plus ones and the plus 1d sixes or whatever. [00:31:51] Speaker D: Even though twin Talon has two plus one swords, if you only had a single plus one sword, the other sword would become a plus one. [00:31:59] Speaker F: Now, if you make one a striking sword, then you'd have two. That's pretty awesome, correct? [00:32:04] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a huge boon for someone who has a two weapon fighting. Because it's expensive to make one weapon really good. It's unbelievably expensive to make two. [00:32:14] Speaker E: Ironically, twin Talon would love these. [00:32:17] Speaker G: I guess silver would say, well, butter my ass and call me a biscuit. [00:32:21] Speaker E: Well, maybe until we can give it to him later and pretend we found it somewhere else. [00:32:25] Speaker G: Yeah, I don't know. [00:32:26] Speaker E: But for now, let's wear a best friend ring. [00:32:29] Speaker D: Best friend ring? [00:32:31] Speaker E: Do you want the ruby one or the other one? [00:32:33] Speaker G: I'll take the iron one. It's fine. [00:32:35] Speaker D: What? [00:32:35] Speaker G: No, you get the nicer one. You're younger and prettier than I am. It's fine. [00:32:41] Speaker E: I don't know if it suits my style, though. [00:32:45] Speaker G: Dress up, dress as success. [00:32:47] Speaker E: Okay, I'm still just wearing a vest. But you paid the. [00:32:51] Speaker D: I have a gaudy ring and some low rise jeans. [00:32:55] Speaker E: Hey, they're leather. [00:32:57] Speaker D: Okay, leather pants. [00:32:59] Speaker E: And I have Uggs on. [00:33:01] Speaker B: We've said that actually in two different episodes. [00:33:03] Speaker A: How basic he is? [00:33:04] Speaker B: No, that he's wearing Uggs. [00:33:05] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, you'll notice the miniature is also wearing Uggs. [00:33:10] Speaker B: Very fun. [00:33:11] Speaker D: Okay, so you've all accomplished your individual requests and goals. So you meet back up into the makeshift armory bedroom that you've created and you gather the 50 pounds of weapons that pond watcher was carrying and you start the trudge back to breach Hill. [00:33:29] Speaker B: Do you guys want to go back the normal way, or do we want to go back through the tunnel? [00:33:32] Speaker A: I think the normal way would be more appropriate. I don't want to scare the poor chap again. [00:33:37] Speaker D: Okay. [00:33:37] Speaker A: No, Silver. I see you thinking. [00:33:39] Speaker F: No, I'd like to see this tunnel. See something that you guys hadn't seen before. [00:33:44] Speaker A: That is fair. But how about we show you once we're in town, where we can go have a bite or a drink at the pickled ear? Is it called. I forget pickled? [00:33:54] Speaker F: Why don't we just go to the cadence keg? [00:33:56] Speaker E: You seem to really like cadence keg. [00:33:58] Speaker A: But there is one tunnel. [00:34:00] Speaker F: I used to work there. And two. Yes, I do. They serve really good beer. [00:34:06] Speaker A: Yes, but we don't know if there is actually a tunnel under Cadence. [00:34:10] Speaker D: Cake. [00:34:10] Speaker A: We can always just go to the pickled ear, see that tunnel, and then we can go and bar hop if you want. [00:34:16] Speaker D: Yes. [00:34:16] Speaker F: Look how cool I am, Brianna. Every time we speak. Yes, I think we become better friends. [00:34:23] Speaker A: It's true. I like our friendship. [00:34:25] Speaker F: High five. [00:34:26] Speaker E: Plus, we've been underground getting attacked by skeletons for, like, ten weeks. It feels like. It was a very bad day. I almost died about every 15 minutes. So I would like to just walk in a field and not go underground anymore. [00:34:42] Speaker B: Okay, that's fine. I was just curious if anybody had any preference. [00:34:45] Speaker F: I have a preference. [00:34:46] Speaker B: What is it? [00:34:47] Speaker F: To go underground. [00:34:48] Speaker D: Okay. [00:34:48] Speaker B: Noted. We're going to go above ground. [00:34:51] Speaker D: So you guys make the two hour trek back with a very tired, very dazed halfling, and you return back to breach Hill. It is a brisk fall day. [00:35:03] Speaker G: So, player, question. [00:35:04] Speaker D: Yes? [00:35:05] Speaker G: What's our next move, y'all? [00:35:07] Speaker E: Well, turn in Galma. [00:35:08] Speaker G: Turn in them. [00:35:09] Speaker B: And we know where Althea's ring is. [00:35:12] Speaker G: Oh, we do? [00:35:12] Speaker B: I remember us talking about it, like in episode two. [00:35:15] Speaker E: Yeah, we found out on accident. [00:35:17] Speaker B: We immediately found out where the end of the game was and then went and did the rest of it. [00:35:22] Speaker E: Not making that mistake again. I have a question also. Did we take Alex painting? [00:35:29] Speaker D: Did you? [00:35:30] Speaker G: Yes. [00:35:30] Speaker D: I cut it out, and I carefully rolled it up. [00:35:33] Speaker E: But we don't really ring as well, I think. I don't think we found the ring. [00:35:37] Speaker B: We did. It was in a box last episode when. [00:35:40] Speaker G: Yeah, I palmed it. [00:35:41] Speaker B: When Anor wasn't here. [00:35:42] Speaker D: Yes. [00:35:42] Speaker G: And I didn't. [00:35:43] Speaker E: I apparently wasn't here either, because I don't remember anything. [00:35:45] Speaker B: Sareia found a locked box and immediately gave it to not the rogue to pick. [00:35:49] Speaker D: Well, you were looking at the footprints. [00:35:51] Speaker B: That guy stole, so let's be clear about who's the rogue and who's the. [00:35:55] Speaker D: Thief in this party? So you make your way back to Breach Hill and you get back in and the town guard immediately go and fetch Greta Gardenia, the head of the town council, who you saved all of those months ago when we started this adventure, was it like three days ago? Well, yeah, in game time, it was like three days. In our real lives, it's a couple months ago. So she thanks you profusely and takes Calmont, and he goes to jail and gives you ten gold for returning him alive. [00:36:33] Speaker G: Not each or each ten gold. [00:36:36] Speaker D: Each. [00:36:36] Speaker B: Nice. [00:36:37] Speaker D: And excuse me, she asks. Warble comes up. And if you remember, warble was the liaison between the goblin tribe and the city. And she herself is a goblin and kind of tugs on your cloaks and is like, is everyone okay over there? [00:36:58] Speaker A: Who does she tug on? [00:37:01] Speaker D: Tamid? [00:37:03] Speaker F: Yes, they're fine. We met with Helba. We were able to clear out their living quarters and they returned safely. [00:37:09] Speaker D: You just see all of this stress and concern melt off of her face. And she is very thankful for everything you guys have done. And she offers you ten gold. [00:37:20] Speaker A: Oh, snap. [00:37:21] Speaker D: Total, not one payment of ten gold. [00:37:24] Speaker F: Thank you so much for that, warble. [00:37:27] Speaker E: Just be careful. There are some creatures living in the basement who think they are dragons and they cannot be trusted. [00:37:35] Speaker D: Oh, yes. What is the common word for them? They are delusional. Is that the word? [00:37:43] Speaker A: That sounds about right. [00:37:44] Speaker F: Yes, that is right. [00:37:45] Speaker D: Yes, they are delusional cobalts. We take pity on them. And, you know, it's nice that we have neighbors. Just. [00:37:55] Speaker E: I would keep my eyes peeled. [00:37:57] Speaker D: That sounds very painful to peel one's eyes. How do elves do that? [00:38:03] Speaker E: Well, we don't have sclera, so you. [00:38:07] Speaker D: See a blank look and she just nods. [00:38:11] Speaker E: Elven word for eyes. Goodbye. [00:38:16] Speaker D: So with that, you've completed your first mission. [00:38:19] Speaker F: We got the bonus mission too. [00:38:21] Speaker D: Yes. Woo. [00:38:23] Speaker E: Let's spend all the money you can. [00:38:25] Speaker D: Go and sell all of the items that you do not want, which we will take care of off air in painstaking detail. [00:38:31] Speaker E: Right now. [00:38:32] Speaker D: Yes. And then you guys can go on a shopping spree in the town. Because as I said in the very beginning, Breech Hill is a fairly prominent town for a trade route. So I believe you can get most items here. I'll look up exactly up to what level you can get and we'll pretend that all of that is done right now. Okay. And so now what are your next plans? [00:38:53] Speaker E: I have a suggestion. Now that we've done our shopping, what time of day is it. [00:38:59] Speaker D: I'm going to say it took you like 30 minutes with the town council and handing off Calmont and like, all the ceremony with that. Probably like an hour to sell everything because that was a lot of stuff. And then probably like an hour to find what you want and buy what you want. [00:39:16] Speaker B: And you have to remember that we went downstairs, probably spent a half hour rooting around the tomb, walked 2 hours to town, 2 hours back. [00:39:24] Speaker E: Evening is my point. [00:39:25] Speaker D: Yeah, it's early evening. [00:39:26] Speaker E: So I say we first check the book company, make sure Vaz isn't there. [00:39:33] Speaker B: That's actually really. [00:39:34] Speaker E: Second, find Sareia. Third, go on a huge bender at a pub. And then when we wake up tomorrow, maybe we can go find this ring. [00:39:44] Speaker A: Can I interject one last step? Okay. [00:39:47] Speaker D: Fourth. [00:39:48] Speaker A: All those sound great. Can we also go back to the pickled ear and speak to the owner? What was her name? [00:39:55] Speaker D: Roxy. Roxy, yes. Good idea. [00:39:58] Speaker A: I would like to know if she knew about the. [00:40:00] Speaker E: Yeah, good point. [00:40:01] Speaker A: Tunnels. [00:40:02] Speaker E: Also, if Oz is bad in a necromancer or whatever, we could probably steal everything in that company because now there's no workers or owner and it's just up for grabs. [00:40:10] Speaker A: I'm sorry, who is a thief? [00:40:12] Speaker B: Well, speak of the devil. [00:40:15] Speaker E: Look, she's a necromancer or something. [00:40:18] Speaker G: I agree. Something is. [00:40:21] Speaker E: Although I think we tried to rather it already and there was nothing there to get. [00:40:24] Speaker B: There were lots of books there. We know how much you love books. [00:40:27] Speaker G: That I sold for a significant amount of money. Now, when we get to the pickled pig, I got some plans. Solar's got a very mischievous grin on his face. [00:40:40] Speaker E: So I think the main thing, though, she might be there. She might attack us. We could do that first, just in case, and then maybe have some fun. [00:40:47] Speaker G: All right. [00:40:48] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:40:49] Speaker G: I'm down to have some fun. [00:40:50] Speaker B: Lord knows we need it. [00:40:52] Speaker G: Let's get some steam off. [00:40:55] Speaker D: All right. You head to the reliant book company. The windows are darkened, the doors are locked. You guys got in through the windows last time, right? [00:41:03] Speaker E: Jasper went in through the window and. [00:41:04] Speaker D: Opened the door and unlocked the door. So actually, the front door is not locked, okay, because I'm assuming you didn't lock it when you left. [00:41:12] Speaker A: We just closed it, I think. [00:41:13] Speaker E: Yeah, it's full of street urchins now. [00:41:17] Speaker G: I am your God. [00:41:19] Speaker B: Street urchin. [00:41:19] Speaker D: This bookstore has been ransacked. [00:41:24] Speaker E: Silver. [00:41:25] Speaker G: I was with you all the entire time, all right? [00:41:28] Speaker A: You kept running ahead. I'm not sure. [00:41:30] Speaker B: Yeah, and that hasn't stopped you literally ever. You just said which I stole a bunch of books from and sold the. [00:41:38] Speaker D: Display case that had the best of. [00:41:40] Speaker G: The stuff I had already taken from here. [00:41:42] Speaker D: Let's be clear. The display case that held some very valuable books has been shattered. The books are gone. The scrolls from the walls are gone. It looks like a mess. [00:41:58] Speaker A: Well, at least we should report this to the city guard. [00:42:02] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I'd say that she came back and collected her stuff, but I don't know why she would break her own display case to get things. [00:42:07] Speaker E: And it wasn't Kelmat. [00:42:09] Speaker B: No. [00:42:10] Speaker G: And I already had sold those things. [00:42:14] Speaker E: So it was you. [00:42:15] Speaker D: No. [00:42:15] Speaker G: I mean. Well, when we were here last, I took any of the things that were the most valuable. [00:42:19] Speaker B: Weren't they a bunch of, like, heavy books? [00:42:21] Speaker D: Yeah, there were, like, tomes that you. [00:42:23] Speaker B: Guys did on the rest of the episodes. Last 20 episodes that you were, like, never left because you were weighted down. [00:42:29] Speaker G: No, we dropped them off someplace. [00:42:32] Speaker D: If I remember correctly, I don't think you took the big tomes. You took the scrolls of magic. These are just like town history books, things that you wouldn't find valuable. [00:42:42] Speaker G: Well, there were some books that were, like, took. I took the things. [00:42:46] Speaker D: You took the scrolls that were worth money? Yes, absolutely. [00:42:48] Speaker E: But now everything else is gone. [00:42:49] Speaker D: But everything else is gone. [00:42:51] Speaker E: Any suspicious? Well, Vaz isn't here, so is she in the secret chamber? [00:42:58] Speaker G: Does it look like malicious or. [00:43:00] Speaker D: It looks like a smash and grab, essentially. So you go down and look into her chambers. And again, most people couldn't find this secret door. So it looks very similar to the way you left it. [00:43:13] Speaker E: It's blood all over the floor in front of him. [00:43:15] Speaker D: Yeah. There is a blood splot from Sareia. [00:43:19] Speaker E: Okay, well, I mean, just an idea. As we leave, I just knock something off a table. [00:43:24] Speaker D: It shatters. You find the one porcelain mug that's still, and you cat it off the table, and it just shatters into a bunch of pieces. [00:43:33] Speaker A: Brienna will shake her head. [00:43:35] Speaker E: Meow. [00:43:36] Speaker B: I feel like he stared someone in the eyes as he was doing it. [00:43:43] Speaker G: All right, so do we want to go to pickled pig? [00:43:46] Speaker E: Then let's find Soraya so she doesn't miss out on this sweet adventure. [00:43:51] Speaker D: You head to the pickled ear. On your way, Soraya comes up to you and tells you that she is going to go back to her cave to try and take those potions that you have and convert them into her spell book, which is really her alchemy book. [00:44:06] Speaker A: Right? [00:44:06] Speaker D: And then she's going to make those rolls, and we'll see how well she. [00:44:09] Speaker B: Does before she leaves fatal, I would like to pull her aside and be. [00:44:12] Speaker D: Like, when you get a moment, I'd. [00:44:14] Speaker B: Really be interested to talk to you about poisons. [00:44:16] Speaker D: She nods. Okay. All right. See you later. [00:44:19] Speaker E: We give her her portion of the money. [00:44:20] Speaker D: Yes. Which she will also go shopping with later and probably buy another new dress because this one has been tattered, poor thing. All right, you head to the pickled ear. [00:44:33] Speaker G: All right. [00:44:36] Speaker D: This bar is shady. So you walk in and the windows are dusty with a faint glow. [00:44:49] Speaker G: I don't walk in. [00:44:50] Speaker D: Okay. With a faint glow of candlelight coming from the tables as you walk in. You are all easily the nicest ones dressed here. Wow, this was a lot. Yeah, everyone kind of like, if there was a jukebox, it would have stopped. And everyone have looked at you and then gone back to what they're doing. [00:45:09] Speaker B: So it's like someone's playing a mandolin, and then there's a record scratch for no reason. [00:45:12] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:45:12] Speaker B: Okay, good. [00:45:13] Speaker E: Pop a string. [00:45:14] Speaker G: Bad form. [00:45:16] Speaker F: Is this a kind of place where temid would have been to different bars? [00:45:23] Speaker D: This is the motorcycle bar in town. [00:45:26] Speaker F: Yes, but do you think it would have still been accessible for him to go there? [00:45:31] Speaker D: I mean, no one is outright aggressive when people walk in, but if you're not a regular, it's definitely very cold. Like, if you go to Kane's keg and you're not a regular, it's like, hey, welcome. Come on in. Let's drink. Buddy, buddy, buddy. Here. It's like everyone looks at you and then goes back to what they're doing. You don't really talk to people you don't know. [00:45:56] Speaker F: So he's been there once or twice, but it's not really his jam. Yeah, got it. [00:46:00] Speaker D: Behind the bar, you see a tall six three human woman. [00:46:06] Speaker G: That is tall. [00:46:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:08] Speaker D: With fiery red hair and kind of a gruff look to her face, like, not really happy to see people, even though it's her bar. And then you see the two halflings that most of you have already met running around delivering drinks. [00:46:26] Speaker A: Okay. Brianna will head to the bar and probably pop a squat and ask for a nail. [00:46:31] Speaker D: The woman behind the bar goes. Three silver. You're new to here, aren't you? [00:46:35] Speaker A: I noticed your sword. What I made. That's one. [00:46:39] Speaker D: Oh. [00:46:40] Speaker A: How's it setting you? [00:46:41] Speaker D: What's your perception? [00:46:42] Speaker A: Bonus plus five. [00:46:44] Speaker D: I need to stop rolling for you guys. [00:46:47] Speaker A: Why? Was it a natural 20? [00:46:49] Speaker D: No, but it was one less than that. Okay. You can tell she's, like, very withholding of information and doesn't really want to talk. She wants this to be a transaction and be done with it. [00:47:00] Speaker B: So I just want to say that while Brianna's at the bar, twin talon will be kind of posted up by the door. [00:47:04] Speaker D: Okay. Timid. What are you doing? [00:47:05] Speaker F: Timid saddles up behind Brianna and he's anxious to get a drink. [00:47:09] Speaker E: Okay, same. [00:47:11] Speaker F: Just keeps raising his hand like this. One finger up. [00:47:16] Speaker E: I will have a sex on the beach, please. [00:47:21] Speaker G: And a headache in the morning. [00:47:22] Speaker D: All right, so you see the one male halfling skid around the corner. Go up to temed and take your order. [00:47:30] Speaker F: I have a nail. [00:47:31] Speaker D: Sure thing. Thanks. And then he turns and sees Pond watcher and stops dead in his tracks. [00:47:39] Speaker F: Tebid kind of looks at the two and like, kind of quizzically, hey, friend. [00:47:43] Speaker D: You're not real. What? You were a figment friend. [00:47:51] Speaker F: I can assure you he is very much real. And then he kind of pokes. Pawn watcher. [00:47:54] Speaker E: I've never seen you before in my life. What are you talking about? [00:47:57] Speaker D: But I thought you. [00:47:58] Speaker E: Get me an ale, little boy. [00:48:01] Speaker D: Okay. [00:48:01] Speaker F: Aren't you a little bit too young working in a bar? [00:48:04] Speaker D: He scurries away. [00:48:05] Speaker A: Gentlemen. What is wrong? What? [00:48:08] Speaker F: I want a child working in a bar. This is a seedy bar. [00:48:12] Speaker E: He's a halfling, I think. [00:48:13] Speaker A: Halfling? You've seen halflings before? [00:48:15] Speaker F: I was injured recently. [00:48:17] Speaker D: You literally just brought a halfling back to town. [00:48:20] Speaker E: I knew he was a halfling. I was just being an asshole. [00:48:23] Speaker A: You're being super fun. I understand you just had the brush with pharasma. I understand where you're coming from. [00:48:29] Speaker E: Yes. [00:48:30] Speaker F: I was also very injured. [00:48:32] Speaker E: Yeah, silver likes to do little jokes on people. It's pretty fun, usually. I don't know. [00:48:38] Speaker A: He's rubbing off on you. [00:48:39] Speaker D: Speaking of silver. What are you doing? [00:48:41] Speaker G: Okay, so while everyone was going inside, silver, once they're inside, he's going to cast one of his second level spells on himself. [00:48:49] Speaker E: Oh, no. [00:48:49] Speaker G: Which is invisibility. So he also went in. He just went in with him. [00:48:56] Speaker D: Okay. [00:48:56] Speaker G: And so when the little halfling boy ran away, the full grown halfling. When the little halfling man ran away, silver will be standing next to invisible. And he said, he may be real, but I'm still not. [00:49:11] Speaker D: You see the color drain from the halfling's face and he scurries away. [00:49:17] Speaker G: Henry, the gods have called to you. [00:49:22] Speaker D: You see him, like, tug on the shirt of the woman behind the bar. Hey, Roxy. Yes? I need to go home. I'm not feeling well, and I'm hearing voices again. And he would just see him start crying, and she's like, all right, Henry, just go into the cellar and then go home. Okay. And he kind of walks away. [00:49:48] Speaker G: I'll be following him. [00:49:50] Speaker D: Okay. [00:49:51] Speaker A: I'm guessing we can't tell. [00:49:52] Speaker D: No, he's invisible. [00:49:54] Speaker E: Pound Watcher feels kind of bad. [00:49:55] Speaker G: Now, I'm not going to say anything. I'm following him, but in case something crazy happens in the cellar. [00:50:01] Speaker D: Okay. [00:50:02] Speaker F: All right, so I like how you use your second level spell for this bit. [00:50:08] Speaker D: So Henry goes into the cellar, and you follow him down there. You see him, like, gather his little Satchel and kind of walk back to the employee only door and walks out, and then makes his way, shuffles through the bar, and you see him just walk out the front door following him. Okay. Oh, my gosh, Silver. [00:50:29] Speaker G: I'm going to say, this is how Silver dies. [00:50:31] Speaker F: I'm calling it right now. [00:50:33] Speaker G: He'll say to him, and he's using a different voice. [00:50:36] Speaker D: Okay, so no jumbalaya. [00:50:38] Speaker G: No jumbalaya voice. But he's saying, like, you could have made better with your life, but you didn't. [00:50:44] Speaker F: He hurts me. [00:50:46] Speaker D: Sprints. [00:50:47] Speaker B: Dedicate your life to the gods. [00:50:49] Speaker D: He sprints away. [00:50:50] Speaker E: The new big bad of the campaign. [00:50:52] Speaker D: Right, so back to the bar. [00:50:57] Speaker G: But I'm also going to like, since I'm invisible, now that I've trolled the young halfling enough, I want to see if I could find what's her face's place of. Does she stay in the bar or. [00:51:06] Speaker D: Roxy? She probably has an office in the back. [00:51:09] Speaker G: Yeah, I want to go to the office and damage around. [00:51:11] Speaker D: Give me a second. So you guys are at the bar? [00:51:13] Speaker E: Excuse me. I ordered with the waiter, but he appears to have left. [00:51:18] Speaker F: I would like as did. [00:51:20] Speaker D: Yes. Yeah. Yes. And she gives them to you. [00:51:23] Speaker E: Cheers. [00:51:24] Speaker F: Cheers. [00:51:25] Speaker E: Cheers. [00:51:26] Speaker A: Cheers. [00:51:28] Speaker E: So, cheers. Oh, Silver's not here. Twin Talon, do you want a drink? [00:51:31] Speaker B: Twin Talon will just kind of shake his head. [00:51:34] Speaker E: So serious. [00:51:35] Speaker B: He is very ready for some shit to break out. [00:51:37] Speaker F: So temit downs it in one gulp and then just kind of asks for another. [00:51:40] Speaker D: We're going to do something that we haven't done before, I think play well. [00:51:47] Speaker B: Others. [00:51:48] Speaker D: Ouch. [00:51:49] Speaker G: That's not happening. [00:51:50] Speaker D: I believe that on the cheat sheets I gave you, there is an action called make an impression. [00:51:56] Speaker G: I'm actually super good at that. [00:51:58] Speaker B: You're invisible. Going through her laundry. [00:52:01] Speaker G: Going through her laundry. [00:52:02] Speaker D: Is it not on there? [00:52:03] Speaker B: It is not. [00:52:04] Speaker G: I'm like, amazing at it as a bard. [00:52:06] Speaker E: Is that part of diplomacy I got? [00:52:08] Speaker F: Charming liar specifically for that? [00:52:10] Speaker D: Yes, I believe it is part of diplomacy. [00:52:13] Speaker E: Yeah, it is. 1 minute of conversation during which you engage in charismatic overtures, flattery and other acts of goodwill. You seek to make a good impression on someone to make them temporarily agreeable. The end of the conversation. Attempt a diplomacy check against the will dc of one target and modified by any circumstances the GM sees fit. Good impressions or bad impressions on a crit fail last only for the current social interaction. [00:52:36] Speaker D: All right, so you all have been talking with Roxy. I keep forgetting her name. I'm sorry. You guys are talking? [00:52:45] Speaker A: No. [00:52:48] Speaker D: I keep wanting to call her Roxy Hart from Chicago. [00:52:51] Speaker A: That's where I was going. I was holding it back. [00:52:55] Speaker D: The name on everyone's lips is going to be Roxy anyway. So you've been talking to Roxy or trying to engage with Roxy. I need the three of you, Temid, Pond, watcher and Brienna to roll a diplomacy check to make an impression. [00:53:13] Speaker F: I'm gonna roll a deception because I have charming liar. Okay, so should I go with what he says prior to. [00:53:19] Speaker D: Yeah, if you guys want to tell me what you're saying to try and get. She is trying not to talk to you. She's just like looking at you and like not even in that fun way that a bartender pretends to pay attention and care to get a better tip. She's just like, just take your ale and go. How are you trying to engage? [00:53:40] Speaker E: I'm going to go first because I rolled really bad. [00:53:42] Speaker D: Okay. [00:53:43] Speaker B: I rolled a six. [00:53:44] Speaker E: Okay, so Pond Watcher is just being super annoying. He's clearly in a mood today and is just kind of being really annoying. And I'm just going to lean into that by being like, wow, this bar is so dirty. Do you think maybe cleaning it more would be good? Or what do you think? If you want to compete with the other bar, maybe you try harder. [00:54:07] Speaker D: I'll. [00:54:08] Speaker E: Another ale, please. [00:54:11] Speaker A: Please don't spit in it. [00:54:14] Speaker D: She gives you probably the meanest look ever and reaches down and grabs a mug and goes. Blows the dust off of it. Very poorly. [00:54:27] Speaker E: I deserve this. [00:54:28] Speaker D: Pours like, she goes and just instead of pouring the ale, she kind of just scoops it into the trough and puts it in front of you. [00:54:37] Speaker E: He drinks it. [00:54:39] Speaker D: It is a combination of runoff from the other ales. Like barred, like cleaning water. So there's a little bit of soap in it. I'm okay. What's your fortitude bonus? [00:54:58] Speaker E: Plus nine. [00:55:00] Speaker D: All right. Your stomach turns a little bit, but you're just like, tastes good. I'm good. All right. Brianna, what are you doing? What are you saying to her? Just know that that first interaction is going to weigh on this DC. [00:55:18] Speaker E: Sorry. [00:55:19] Speaker A: Thanks. Thanks, Rich. [00:55:21] Speaker E: It's a new die, too. [00:55:23] Speaker D: But it wasn't a one. [00:55:25] Speaker A: That's true. [00:55:25] Speaker B: It was a five. [00:55:26] Speaker A: That is very true. [00:55:27] Speaker B: You have a plus one. [00:55:28] Speaker D: I have a plus one. Okay. [00:55:31] Speaker A: Brianna will say something along the lines of, I always find it formidable that a woman is able to own your own bar and in such a difficult part of town, too. That's impressive. I rolled a 24. [00:55:44] Speaker D: Oh, well, you know how things are nowadays. And it's a little bit better than it was, but not great. Temit, what did you roll? [00:55:58] Speaker F: So I rolled a twelve. So he's going to try to add something, but I think he's going to kind of misread the situation. [00:56:05] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sure he's going to misread this. [00:56:07] Speaker F: He's going to misread this situation a little bit, but he's not going to go crazy because it is still a. [00:56:11] Speaker D: Twelve total of twelve. Okay. [00:56:13] Speaker F: A total of twelve. [00:56:14] Speaker B: It's a lie, right? [00:56:15] Speaker F: It is a lie. Right? So he's going to lie about, like. [00:56:18] Speaker D: You didn't critically fail, okay. Unlike some people on this table. [00:56:24] Speaker F: So he's basically just going to tell her. Like, speaking of which, we are famous heroes of this town. We went and saved many, many goblins. I mean, a horde of them, thousands of goblins. And we shared that. You do know that the grace of Caden Galion with them. [00:56:47] Speaker D: You do know that goblin blood wars were a thing, right? [00:56:51] Speaker E: Right. [00:56:52] Speaker F: But we're like friends now. They're really nice, but they only ate a handful of hairs off of Kalmot's feet. They're pretty good. [00:57:03] Speaker D: So she stops looking at temid and kind of like, brushes him off and goes back to talking to you. [00:57:10] Speaker A: Brienna, I apologize. It's been quite an adventure so far. Yes, speaking of, there was some ounce of truth in what Temad was saying. We have. Keep drinking, dear. We have just been to the fortress on hell night Hill, and there had been some issues with it, and we had followed one of the tunnels, actually, to your seller. Now, I apologize. We tried not to disturb your staff, but we thought we would come in business hours to speak to you and make sure that you are safe, especially since we suspect some issues to be arising. As you said, times have been changing. [00:57:54] Speaker D: Yeah, I don't really know anything about that, man, I wish I could drive up some more business in here. You know what? If you can help me do that next week, I'll tell you more information. [00:58:10] Speaker B: Is there going to be like a lock picking challenge? [00:58:12] Speaker D: Because I can do. [00:59:07] Speaker C: Will that halfling ever recover? Has Sareia found anything? Will our heroes be able to entice more customers into this bar?
