But just had, like, just wild swings. I feel like the eighties had a lot of, like, wild swings for cartoons, but maybe that's just me. [00:02:47] Speaker A: Bucky O'Hare, most of them. Bucky O'hare. So his horse was like a horse, but then, like, he would, like, transform into an anthropomorphic horse person, and the anthropomorphic horse person version had a blunderbuss that shot, like, lasers. [00:03:23] Speaker A: I want to know how much coke the thought behind that was. [00:03:28] Speaker C: Well, then you had stuff like the visionaries, which I think had, I don't know, ten episodes or something, which was, I thought was a great comic or a great cartoon, and someone else thought it was a great cartoon because in 2018. So, like, it was, like, ten episodes in 1984 or whatever it was, or 1987, and then in 2018, someone put visionaries versus Transformers as a comic book series. Like, just pulled them out of the fucking, you know, the ether. So. But they were like. It was like fantasy. And there were good guys and bad guys, and they went to this place to get powers, and they got, like, powers based on animals. So, like, one of the bad guys was, like, a gorilla, so he turned into a big gorilla and beat the shit out of things. And one of the leader of the good guys was a lion. I don't know. Then you had centurions who were, like, in space, and they would have, like, it was all about, like, man versus technology that I could go on. [00:04:22] Speaker B: Reminds me, for no good reason, about how apparently they were gonna name one of the original Transformers headlamp and they realized they couldn't do that because that is a slang term for when a woman's nipples are hard and showing through headlamp. [00:04:37] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:04:38] Speaker D: I did not know that. [00:04:39] Speaker F: In what country? [00:04:40] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:04:40] Speaker E: I've heard high beams. [00:06:26] Speaker B: Is that people aren't property, Sean. [00:06:30] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I know. I play all the bad guys, though. So, you know. So then you. You went to Lady Decor's school for girls, found out that it was actually a recruit recruitment joint for a secret assassin's guild, and you now have access to training from the Lacuna fex. Yes. You left Jasper there so that you can get the information while you head to Tessen Tower, because that is where you found out that the people who are abducted from the long roads coffee house were taken. Matt, I have a very important role, and I'm just going to let you roll this. Even though we talked about lores and recall knowledge last time, I want you to roll a recall knowledge for architecture lore. [00:07:55] Speaker C: Oh, that's majan. [00:08:07] Speaker A: Okay, so as you are all walking towards Tessen tower, I'm going to give you some information that you know Twintalen, and you can decide what you want to share with everyone else. [00:08:22] Speaker C: Okay. [00:08:22] Speaker A: The Alabaster academy was once the foremost institution of higher learning in Contago. I will tell you why this all relates back to architecture lore in a few minutes. At its height, the university attracted students from across Cheliaks and beyond. Its reputation became sullied when in 4599 Ar, one of the academy's most beloved professor was revealed to be a murderous sadist. The academy worked hard to rebuild its reputation. But today, the school's enrollment remains low, and its glowing reputation is a thing of the past. Today, even with Ravenel's recent upturn in escaping cheliaxian rule. The academy's student body is only one quarter of what it was at its height 150 years ago. Tessen Tower is an excellent example of the academy's decline, one of the several towers that once held student dormitories on the higher floors and lecture hall halls below. Tessen Tower had all but been deserted for nearly a decade before its patrons recently pledged to fund a renovation of the vacant dormitory tower into alchemical laboratories and lecture halls. But as Ravnules rebellion progressed to full independence, the Tassen familys allegiance to house thrune cost them dearly, and they withdrew their financial support from the project. Today, the entire tower is unused and believed vacant by the academy's administration. The tower is made out of Contago's distinct silver streaked stone. It is eight stories tall with a conical tile roof. Stone stairs run along the inside wall of each level. The lower five stories have been gutted and abandoned and contain only unfinished walls, empty door frames, and a stone staircase connecting to other levels. [00:10:22] Speaker C: But we see this from outside. [00:10:23] Speaker A: Yep. As you approach the. The tower. Okay, so that is what you know about Tessen tower as you show up. [00:10:30] Speaker B: Suntal and just casually casing the joint. [00:10:33] Speaker C: Yeah, so you guys can see the tower is eight stories, but if you look at the structure here and over there, you can see there's no way anybody's living in that floor. So I would say the first five stories are probably abandoned for the top floors. I'm not sure why they started building the tower from the top. Maybe it's a wizard thing, but that's where the action is. I'd say the top three floors is where we're going to find whoever is located in. What was the name of it? [00:11:04] Speaker A: Tessen Tower. [00:11:05] Speaker C: Tessen. T e s s e n. T. [00:11:07] Speaker A: A n e s s e. Nde. Tassen. [00:11:11] Speaker C: Tanessen. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Tennessin. [00:11:12] Speaker A: Yeah, Tennessin. That works. [00:11:14] Speaker C: That's. That's. We're gonna find people in Tennessin tower. [00:11:16] Speaker A: You also notice that the stairs, unlike the rest of the lower levels, have been recently used, so it looks like there's some. [00:11:27] Speaker C: Some use here. These are. You can see footmarks, old mud. Also, you said this is part of the alabaster academy? [00:11:34] Speaker A: Yes. [00:11:34] Speaker C: So that's, like, right near where we were. That's not to the east on the silver row. [00:11:38] Speaker A: Oh, you're absolutely right. I'm. I'm blond and I get. [00:11:46] Speaker C: Don't use that. [00:11:46] Speaker A: I get confused easily. [00:11:49] Speaker B: Like, that is not very helpful. [00:11:52] Speaker C: It's just to the south of the long roads. [00:11:54] Speaker A: Coffee house. Yes. Okay, Matt, you also noticed that the ceilings in on the first floor is about 14ft high, and you can probably guess that the rest of the floors are about the same height. [00:12:08] Speaker C: Okay. I can probably figure that out from looking at the windows, like how they're spaced. [00:12:10] Speaker A: The tower contains several narrow gothic windows of leaded or stained glass that are 2ft high and 4ft wide. You can just kind of tell because they are stained glass or leaded, that none of them provide a clear view of the interior of the tower. And the interior doors, you can see the few that are there are solid wood and particularly dense. You could try and climb the tower, if you wanted to, to reach the windows and either, like, try and pry them open or smash them. But that would be a climb check and an athletics check to do that. [00:12:48] Speaker C: Basically to get to the top floor rather than going up through the tower. [00:12:51] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:12:52] Speaker B: What if I have a climb speed? [00:12:53] Speaker A: Do you have a climb speed? [00:12:55] Speaker B: I do. It's part of the elven background. [00:12:58] Speaker A: Holy. Okay. [00:13:00] Speaker B: I took it after all of the mishaps with the ropes. [00:13:02] Speaker A: Okay. So you would still have to climb. What is your climb speed? [00:13:10] Speaker B: 10Ft. [00:13:10] Speaker A: 10Ft around? Yeah. So you can make your way up there? [00:13:15] Speaker B: Well, if it's 10ft around or 10ft in action. [00:13:18] Speaker A: So that would be 30ft, around, 33ft around. Yes. Sorry. So you would definitely need to climb to at least the 6th floor to try and get to where there is stained glass window. So if each room is about 14ft high, it would take you a couple. [00:13:42] Speaker B: It would take me about 18 seconds. [00:13:45] Speaker A: Yeah. So you could do that, or you could climb all the way up to the very top, which is the 8th floor, if you'd like, and, you know, break open those windows. [00:13:56] Speaker B: Look at the group. What do we want to do? [00:13:58] Speaker C: I mean, you and I could get up to the 8th floor, but the issue would be if we get into the 8th floor and then the stuff from the 7th and 6th floor comes up to us, if we have to retreat, I don't know who's going to be able to get away fast. [00:14:11] Speaker F: We could flank them. I could come up from behind. Wink wink. [00:14:15] Speaker C: Right. But being two floors away, I don't know how much benefit that would. I think that it probably would be best for everyone if we just went up through the tower. Normally we're less likely to get pinched in between things. [00:14:28] Speaker B: Look at. Ooh. Seems like something she'd react to. [00:14:30] Speaker F: She's grinning. This tower will never not look like a big dick. [00:14:36] Speaker A: Also, just to remind everyone, everyone has one hero point. Except for knife sword, who has two? How would you all like to go up the stairs? [00:14:49] Speaker B: Like marching order? [00:14:51] Speaker F: Yeah, we're gonna walk up them. Sorry, who wants to go first? [00:14:55] Speaker C: Twin Talon will go first to keep an eye out for traps and whatever. [00:14:59] Speaker A: All right, now what's interesting is it looks like these are. These are circular steps. So, twin Talon, you're gonna go first. Who's behind twin Talon? [00:15:10] Speaker F: Are these narrow steps, like the corridors going up? The steps are very narrow. [00:15:16] Speaker A: You could fit one across. [00:15:18] Speaker C: So we're going single file? [00:15:19] Speaker F: Yes. I will stay at the back. I think that if anything came up from the back end, I'd be a good tank to absorb any blows. [00:15:26] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [00:15:27] Speaker F: And fight people off. And Tasani, where is Tasani? [00:15:55] Speaker C: Taysani will, she's just coming up behind. Like, she could just jump down the tower if she wanted to. Yeah, I don't know. I actually don't know what the situation is. But she can fly, so her escaping the tower isn't an issue. [00:16:06] Speaker F: Can you see through her eyes by any chance? [00:16:09] Speaker C: No. [00:16:09] Speaker A: No. [00:16:10] Speaker F: Okay. But, um, can you speak with her? [00:16:12] Speaker C: No. [00:16:13] Speaker F: Okay, never mind. [00:16:18] Speaker C: She's an animal companion, so we can communicate, but it's not like we can't, like, have a conversation, if that met, if that makes sense. Before you get to this floor, however, Matt, give me two thievery checks, please. All right. [00:16:44] Speaker C: I'm pretty good at that. Is this check vision based? [00:16:48] Speaker A: Yes. You're searching for traps? [00:16:49] Speaker C: 31 is my first check. [00:16:51] Speaker A: All right, so you managed to climb up the first two floors, and as you are walking, as you are going up the trip up the stairs, you notice that there is a tripwire that you manage to see and clear out of the way and disarm before it hits you. [00:17:10] Speaker C: Okay, great. Do I have any sense of what that would have done? Like, is it an alarm or is it like. Like something that's actually gonna attack us. [00:17:17] Speaker A: You see that? It is actually. Yes. It is an alarm. You see that? It is connected to a very rudimentary trap. [00:17:25] Speaker C: String up tin cans. [00:17:26] Speaker A: Yeah, basically. [00:17:27] Speaker C: Okay, I will disarm that. And another check. [00:17:30] Speaker A: He said yes, please. [00:17:33] Speaker C: I'm gonna use my hero point. But a critical fail only drops it down to a regular failure. So you're not gonna take double damage, which is good. But this time, you put your hand on the wall to steady yourself. And as you put your hand on the wall, you suddenly start to hear a hiss, and a green mist starts to fill the room or the stairwell. I'm gonna roll some damage real quick. [00:18:47] Speaker D: Oh, boy. [00:18:48] Speaker A: It's okay. It's not that bad. Honestly, there are way, way worse traps in this game that should have killed people earlier in the game. [00:18:56] Speaker C: Like in vases store? [00:18:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Yep. All right, Twintalon, are you a. Do you have to breathe air? [00:19:05] Speaker C: Unfortunately. [00:19:06] Speaker A: All right, so as you breathe in, you take 18 points of damage. As this poison starts to fill your lungs. Please give me a fortitude save. [00:19:17] Speaker C: Okay. [00:19:18] Speaker D: And this isn't anything I can liberate him from? [00:19:20] Speaker A: No? Nope. Because he is breathing. [00:19:22] Speaker D: I'm sorry. [00:19:23] Speaker C: Me too. [00:19:25] Speaker B: Does it affect all of us or just him? [00:19:27] Speaker A: Well, now that I have, you know, initiative, we're gonna have to roll initiative. [00:19:32] Speaker C: So my fortitude saves a 35. [00:19:34] Speaker A: Okay? That is a critical success. So you only take half that damage. Isn't that great? [00:19:42] Speaker C: Good luck, ladies, with all of your juggernauts. [00:19:44] Speaker A: Oh, wait. No, it's a critical success. You take no damage. [00:19:48] Speaker C: Are you sure? [00:20:30] Speaker D: Twin challenge should go first. He's speedier than I am anyway. [00:20:33] Speaker A: Okay, Saraya, what would you like to do? [00:20:37] Speaker B: I'm going to assume that I need some kind of proficiency in thievery to try and disarm this thing. [00:20:46] Speaker A: Um, no, this is a very basic trap. [00:20:51] Speaker B: Cool. Well, I do have a 17 in thievery. Um, so I'm gonna. [00:20:56] Speaker C: This isn't disable a device. [00:20:57] Speaker B: Oh. What is disabled? Device under. [00:21:00] Speaker A: Oh, it is a disable. I'm sorry. [00:21:02] Speaker B: I was gonna say I'm trained in it, but I don't know if you need to be an expert or a master to disable things.
