[00:00:38] Speaker A: Hello, crack die folks, and happy Thursday.
We're back at this again.
Unfortunately, we're gonna have to do another little mini sode this week. We've had a bit of a technical difficulty due to some IRL things, but we will have our next episode. Our next full episode, I should say, ready for you this coming week. We're so excited to share it with you, but for right now, I get to horribly voice act for you and do a little glimpse into Brianna's backstory for you. So without further ado, this is episode 111, a fix you the rain in Breech Hill was the kind that seeped through the marrow of your bones and clung there until a hot meal or a fiery spirit was ingested. It mingled with sea spray that on particularly violent storms would cake one's hair and cheeks with salt. Unfortunately for Brianna Soldado, this was not a luxury she could afford as she hoisted Aurelius's arm on her strong shoulders and half dragged him to see her mentor. If there was anyone who could help him, it was him. And she thanked Sorenre vehemently that Flynn was in town to teach her in her next steps along the golden path of their deity.
Just a bit farther. Stay with me, please. Please stay with me, Aure. She sniffled, attempting to remain strong and blessing the falling rain for washing her tears away with it. Brienne freed one of her hands from supporting Aurelius for just a moment to turn the latch and kick the door open. Master Ferwind Flynn. Please help. She cried out as she stumbled slightly under Aurelius, steadily increasing weight. He was losing a lot of blood. Consciousness was elusive. Flynn had been sitting at the kitchen table, swapping stories of old corvosa with her mother. Ay, Brynna, what happened? Taste said, springing into action and clearing the kitchen table of the pair of tankards that she and Flynn had out in the interim. Flynn's easy smile left his handsome face as he came around to inspect the youth. I don't know, Brianna admitted, wide eyed. He came to the forge covered in blood, and her voice died in her throat, exhaustion and fear finally getting the better of her. Without delay, the paladin examined the boy's extensive lacerations and put his hands over his chest. A warm golden glow seeped into his wounds, but something was wrong. The screams that echoed around their humble home were ear piercing, gut wrenching, and earth shattering. It made whatever air still left in Briannas lungs squeeze painfully out as she leaned on her mother for support. Flynn, on the other hand, remained wrapped in his ever present calm. Tace, please take Brianna elsewhere. This may not be a pleasant operation, he said grimly. No, I can help. The apprentice cried, trying to free herself from her mother's grasp. That wouldn't relent. Tace understood the stiffness in Flynn's shoulders, the dark that dug its talons into the room. She wordlessly took her daughter back out into the rain and into their forge. Their night passed in silence with a young woman pacing like a caged animal. When dawn finally came, Paladin Flynn Fairwind entered with heavy footsteps, his shoulders now lowered, defeated Brienne.
I did all I could, he said softly. May Sorenres light guide him. The champion to be's agonized wails were eerily reminiscent of those of her now departed loves.
